I've been having absolute joy driving the Freightliner Cascadia ever since I started trying it out in American Truck Simulator. Not only it has a digital and modern dashboard, which I prefer, but also this is the one and only truck with a painting with wolves! (I'm sure I'm not the only fan of those animals.) Now I can truly say "I'm Running With The Wolves" (as in AURORA's song). The paw print on the front is cute and brilliant! It may be lacking in exterior customization to some extent, compared to other trucks, especially ETS2 trucks, but I can't complain with those wolves on the side. Compared to the strongest trucks in the game, I only lose 20 horserpower, which is also totally acceptable.
I know there are similar presonalization options in Euro Truck Simulator 2 too, like Fenris for the Volvo FH (Chassis 8x4), as well as a Night Wolf in the Ice Cold Paint Jobs DLC), but while they're more than nothing, the American skin is superior in my opinion. The Scania S and R models got great customizability and speed, but only the Night Wolf skin. The DAF XG+ 2021 comes with a very impressive digital dashboard with cameras, but there is just no way I would want to drive it with the horsepower it has. It also a lackluster in terms of customization possibilities, as far as I remember. I wish to see more new and modern trucks in both games, but not with trade-offs like those.

Great addon but I work on Cascadias in real life. This game almost made me forget how terrible these trucks are truly lmao It's not that they're uncomfortable for drivers or anything; just that they break down so often, the DD13/DD15 leak oil like an old box chevy (thanks to the plastic oil pans or the "football" seals). Oh, lets not forget about the three hour Regen.
It's finally here! I got a fistful of cash and I'm ready to pick this baby up.
Found the dealer in St. George and dropped all the company money on a 600hp engine with an 18-speed Eaton Fuller trannee (stupid word censor) and it drives super smooth. After I'm done my current run, I will go and pick up my custom trailer to get it all purdy.
Anyways, all that aside, the Cascadia is a wonderful addition to the game. If Youtube channels tell me anything, it's that almost every company out there has these in their fleet. While they might not be the very best thing on the road, they seem to be consistent and reliable and probably a good price point since so many fleets are comprised of them. They seem like they're the Honda Civic of OTR vehicles.
Gamewise, there is a lot to love about the Cascadia in ATS. The cockpit/interior is laid out really nicely and the side mirrors are close to the cab so you can use the driver-side mirror comfortably without applying fisheye to your view. Obviously if you have a multi-monitor setup, then this point is moot, but for us regular folks who like to use the actual mirrors, this is a huge plus (I'm looking at you, Anthem). While I still prefer the Anthem's OSD overall, the Cascadia's several OSD pages are very informative and tell you everything you need to know. The default page has a neat-o real-time gauge of your mpg rating, which is quite cool. Finally, the engine sound is love it or hate it. This is a very quiet truck and even the engine brake is a purr compared to other tractors in the game. In contrast to the Anthem, at least the revs sound proper.
Config-wise, there is a ton of engine/trannee combos you can put together. If you're not a big fan of 18-speeds, the 13-speed Eaton is pretty crunchy compared to the more expensive 10-speed. Cab options include the day cab, low sleeper, a medium-like sleeper, and a big honking sleeper with the aero roof. Customization is available out the wazoo with lots of different options and really slick aero kits to add. Whether you're tricking out your private machine or a standard rubber stamp for your fleet, there are tons of ways to build out this truck and it even comes with some truck- and trailer-specific paint jobs, too.
The only real downside besides the max 240gal fuel tank is that the aesthetics of the Cascadia are quite tame. This is a no-nonsense, streamlined design that looks rather uninteresting on the outside when compared to something like the Anthem. Despite taking this thing up to 90MPH (shut up, I can do wha'eva I want!), there is a lack of aggression in its smooth, sweeping lines. In the end, though, it doesn't matter, and the ride is pretty smooth compared to beasts like the Pete 379.
So while I don't know where all the dealers are, make your way to St. George, UT if you want to pick one up right away.
The Freightliner truck dealers are located in:
- Oxnard, California
- St. George, Utah
- Fort Collins, Colorado
- Gillette, Wyoming
Today a true legend enters ATS. Fellow truckers I introduce the Cascadia XL the Cascadia XL comes in 12 configurations has 14 engine configurations from a Cummins all the way up to the Detroit D-16. The Cascadia has 4 different cab designs from a day cab to a full out sleeper complete with four options for the trim you want and as an added bonus complete your fleet by adding a trailer and painting it with the Daimler logo to showcase your truck. The all new 2017,2018,2019, and 2020 Cascadia XL available at a dealer near you in ATS.
Now, i finally found my new truck for the company, i'll take the entire stock.
No words needed for how incredible this truck is. Just drive it.
been waiting awhile for this truck and im not disappointed i love it
Definitely a fun truck to drive.
Being free is usually a bonus in anyone's book but the Freightliner Cascadia is a much welcome addition to ATS. Nice selection to choose from with good customization to go with it. Visibility from the cab is great, truck handling great too and a nicely detailed but easy to read dashboard instruments. These make a worthwhile addition to your companies fleet or starting out.
I found a dealership in Oxnard, California but a look through other reviews will reveal other locations.
amazing detail all around and the sounds of both engines are great too, plus its free, well done again SCS you did more than I ever expected during this complicated year, thank you
Thank you SCS for adding the freightliner trucks
I really like the freightliner truck I would like it better if it would offer the paint schemes of the rest of the trucks.

Thanks for the free content SCS! Your generosity is much appreciated!
It is one of my favorite trucks and without a doubt it is the most used and known truck in the United States & Canada and the first dlc truck to add 4 variants of the configuration selection models I hope the next truck that has the same of the Cascadia with 4 different models.
I drive with out a steering wheel just a keyboard and mouse. I LOVE this game.
Very good DLC in my opinion, one of the best trucks as well.
i have never played with the new dlcs from october 29th to, i dont know, probably febuary 4th.
It's a cool American truck, I also like that the mirror on the left side is not so far out of view like some of the other american trucks, I don't like that on those, but here it's good.
why dose it say DLC freightliner Cascadia?
Incredible Truck. Hope new dealers location come in the future.

Awesome truck! love the futures it has. One thing I wish they did was make a legacy sleeper for it!

Thank you SCS for this. Now it would be nice if we could get the Coronado and old Columbia, Century and FLD. Let's see that 12.7 60 Series C'mon,
was trying to recreate the one my company gave me and your miss a sleeper size the 60" sleeper xt
The developer participates in informational warfare.
I drive this truck at work IRL and it is a complete piece of Shit. Fuck this truck and whoever programmed the electronics in it. Faults every day, Tyre pressure systems think I only have 3 tyres on one side and adds the pressures together giving readings of nearly 200 psi for one tyre. Diesel Additive system freaks out daily and throws CELs all the time. Fuck this truck, get an older Freightliner with less electronics. Mechanically great trucks, but the software is complete garbage.
Not the devs fault though, so this review is positive all the same
The Cascadia has the best stats of all the trucks when upgraded.
It's not my favorite necessarily, but it's all I drive because fast.
