Absolutely amazing DLC.

The DLC really captures the cold war Germany era well, the campaign is pretty good, but with some bugs.

The new vehicles and weapons are fantastic with many interesting additions, such as new German voice acting for soldiers, dynamic name tags on uniforms and country sided equipment (unique IFAK-s, compass, gas masks etc.)

Really worth buying if you want to support the devs.

I bought this DLC quite late. Being a bit cautios because of the mixed reviews. The state the DLC now is great! The campaign is fun! Tank missions can be a bit annoying though, but this is only a minor issue. The infantry missions are awesome. Quality wise the content you get is very good.

I got it for $10 but it is worth more. It runs well on a i3-7100 dual core and 1050ti with vsync and 1280 by 1080 and 1500m view and object. I have used the editor. All the vehicles look great. All the vehicles move in a slightly jerky way. I think this is to mimic gearboxes and stuff. I am happy with it being a feature. Stabilisation on tank periscopes does not exist on all models, probably realistic on old tanks.

Loved this DLC really cool troops & vehicles and love the map you get with it

The price is a bit high given the content. It's good content though.

The best moment I had was playing the coop with a friend. Particularly when I was playing coop mission where you play as the PAH 1 pilot taking out enemy tanks crossing the border while I had Rammstein playing.

The campaign was soft, i skipped the last mission because it was boring to run all the way back. The friendly AI in the tank missions were my main problem, enemies can see you 4000km away, but your allies cant see neither shoot back, they just stand there. You give them orders to shoot by the command menu, or by pressing T, and the AI stands there receiving bullets, i had to leave the tanks behind and kept playing with only one tank. You can choose between having a team or just one tank, i prefered the team, since if your tank gets all red and you survive, you can pretty much hop out and pick another one, since the AI doesnt mind and is dumb as a rock. It was a short campaign with a strange ending. I dont recommend for the State Scarlet campaign, but for the items and vehicles, great fun!

Good dlc, cool factions and while not the best map it still does feel good and its nicely detailed, my only and biggest complaint is, were the fuck are the jets?? the cold war was all about jets, u had so many options to choose from and yet we get 0, kinda sad and wish that part of arma would get some more love.
Just look at the f-4 for the vietnam dlc, awsome stuff man, also lacking when it comes to helis. But the guns are good, veichles fell solid.

even tho im new to arma i still love this entire mod even though i had my fair share of frustration i love it. would definitly recomend it. One tip when you are playing this mod you will die over and over and over again. but when at first you dont succed try, try again.

11/10 would play again.

Nicely crafted map. Certainly the winter version and the border itself are big highlights.
Campagine is well crafted as well and sheds some light on a very interesting aspekt of the cold war that luckily never actually turned out to become reality.
Units are very detailed und unique.
Yeah, I know the AI and bugs. But it is not buggier than the main game and the moment you realize you should drive your tank platoon in a vile, everything becomes easier. :)
PS. The scenario "Republikflucht" is quite entertaining as well and the devs of this mod should in deed get more credits for their good work!

As already stated a few times here, the campaign is super buggy. Especially in one mission, you need to coordinate a tank squad while you commanding one of them. The AI-controlled tanks drive into rivers and therefore cannot be used anymore, consistently. After release, some things have been patched but the whole DLC just still feels unfinished and incomplete. Apart from that, the original German voices lines have some kind of "robotic" oral fluency spoken ingame, which I did not like at all when playing the campaign.

My expectations for a DLC or CDLC are not going to be high or to sum up in a phrase "raising the bar". I've only come to expect out of the CDLC what I got out of vanilla ARMA 3. Granted, the AI is bad, ARMA 3's campaign AI is mostly scripted anyways and does not rely too much on an independence. Even the "End Game" mission or whatever the bonus mission is called had scripted AI and had a bunch of vacant spots in the terrain where the dev's did not expect you to go. So, this CDLC should have adapted the AI and story to mostly scripts and that would have solved some problems. The East Wind campaign comes to mind as a solution. Same can be said about many other AAA titles. Aside from the campaign, the content here is great and abundant. I agree that this CDLC should not cost this much. I bought it on sale and at that it was still around $15. The new weapons, uniforms, vehicles, and map are well worth the money if you have spent more than 200hrs and plan to spend more time on the game. Get Dynamic Recon Ops for added replay value and download custom scenarios from the workshop. Good to go!

Tank missions are bad with the AI and there are many tank missions.

An interesting turn of events with new DLCs for Arma, in that 3rd parties create their own expansions of the game which Bohemia Interactive then proceeds to publish on their behalf. For a first of its kind, I'd say this is not bad. It takes the setting of Arma 3 to the Cold War border with East and West Germany, adding factions and assets for both of those as well as East Germany's ally and neighbor Poland. I also really like that we have a winter variation of the featured terrain and factions of this DLC, which is something we don't really get aside from mods in the base game.

Sargeswe

Without a doubt my my favorite creator DLC for Arma 3. Weapons, vehicles and gear are fantastically well made. Sound effects on the weapons are top notch as well. It's also easy to tell that Weferlingen is a labor of love. So much effort has gone into the research of the area. And the fact that you get both a summer and a winter version of it is also really nice when making different scenarios in Eden editor.

mantasbacenas
mantasbacenas

Enemies can see you trough building walls, trees and bushes in Weferlingen map, also in the tank gameplay AI is too dumb, but this is problem of Arma 3 itself. If you shoot 1 tank that is far away, another tanks instantly shoots you back and kills you with 1 shot, even though you cant see them because of trees and bushes. X ray vision in this game is a problem.

The DLC overall is good, it is not buggy from my perspective, so far nothing that could make it bad, the only thing that doesn't help is that the DLC isn't allowed in public Arma 3 Zeus servers, if they made it allowed only for specific servers that'd be helpful. Overall the DLC is good and it does have it's bad parts, and it's good parts, overall it's good, You should buy it.

This is a solid DLC, very well made and with high production quality. There is a large amount of equipment regarding weapons and vehicles. The map is quite interesting. Last but not least, the creators keep updating the content and keep the DLC alive with periodic additions. My suggestion for this DLC would be the addition of a couple of jets though.
(Answering the "but you can use free mods to get the same content" comments, yes you could try but it would take a lot of different mods and the result would still not be of that quality.)
All in all a solid option which I do not regret buying in full price.

The Campaign has one or two missions that are quite fun, and these are not the tank missions. overall the assets in this DLC are very well made and worth it in my opinion, I don't have the biggest working with the map, but the quality of vehicles and weapons are very good and the devs keep adding new stuff. one thing i would do is increase the armor that the frag vest 00 has as it is not just soft armor, it is also a plate carrier and should with plates be able to stop bullets

to summarize get it for the assets, not for the campaign

This DLC started out kinda meh however the devs have been slowly improving upon existing assets and have been adding interesting and unique assets on a relatively regular basis. Map seems bland at first till you realize almost all assets are custom. Sounds are good vehicles and weapons are modeled very well and with the most recent patch rounding out the support vics for both east and west I believe now it is worth it. If you like the latter cold war including the 80's and very early 90's then this might be worth it for you. That being said single player is not worth it alone for admission but if that is not a concern to you then I recommend it.

ChrisPBacon
ChrisPBacon

The quality of the assets in Global Mobilization are impressive!
All of the models and the map have been created with great attention to detail and they really are works of art and rival BI in quality. All Vehicles come with multiple sets of camouflage for every climate, and most of the map assets have been designed completely from scratch.

However, the focus on the assets has lead to some the content being neglected. The campaign is okay. Some missions are fun, others not so much. Overall the world seemed devoid of life and the conflict felt rather bland. The SP/COOP missions are quite challenging and show that there is potential for some interesting playable content.
Seeing the ongoing active development, I am hopeful that new playable content will follow, especially using the new assets being introduced.

The Map, Weferlingen, is very detailed and perfect for long-range mechanized battles. Personally, I wish it had more interesting terrain features that would make for good infantry combat, but the map was designed as an exact replica of the area during time so that is not the fault of the creators. It also features the historic inner-German border, which is interesting to explore.

If you're on the fence as to whether to buy this CDLC or not, ask yourself what your priorities are. If you want single-player content and an interesting story this might not be the one for you. If you're interested in the period, however, or you're interested in creating your own missions I'd say go for it.

The amount and quality of the assets that you are getting for the price is amazing. The playable content could be improved. (Or you could make some great missions and publish them :D )

Hey There!! This is my Brief Review on the ARMA 3 'Global Mobilization-Cold War Germany' DLC and i think it's Awesome!! I Only Play in the 'Eden Editor' and this makes Creating Scenarios Much more Fun, Mainly because of the Long Range Artillery!! No Seriously, You can Hit a Target All the way Across the Length of any Map!! and Easily My Favorite is the 'SR 2P16' Missile Launcher because when it Hit's and your in the Range of 'Danger Close' it will Shake your Screen Violently for a Few Seconds!! It Is Epic!! The Blast Zone is Massive!! and like i said, this is just a Brief Review and I say that because this DLC Offers So Much More!! Just Check Out the Trailer's and Decide for Yourself, and Maybe take my Word for it (or don't) It's all good bro... Thank's for the Read!!

I can recommend it as long as you dont want to drive tanks...

The crewmember AI is even more stupid than in the Basegame tanks.

The commander periscopes on all Leopards are not stabelised until you DONT use them. E.g when you look out of the hatch.
This leads to total confusion, cause if you use it again it feels like its looking random in any direction every time you use it.

And the one T-55 modell i tryed has the same problem.
BUT additionaly, when you look out of the hatch, your charackter IS sometimes stabelised in a wired way?!?
That leads to your charackter sometimes faceing backwards when looking out of the hatch.

All in all tank driving is cancer.

They didn't have any obligation to update and add more content to the CDLC but here we are 2 years later with 4 major updates to it that adds more and more content for free. If you pick it up I highly recommend joining the Global Mobilization Discord channel and find some groups to play with.

This DLC has tons of neato stuff, like the first functional bridge-layer I've ever seen in Arma. That thing is SO cool, and I would love to see vanilla versions some day. The weapons are solid and functional, the vehicles feel heavy like they should, and the all around concept is great.

The only criticism I have is that the different variants of the uniforms are all stuffed together in one faction. The game regularly spawns winter uniforms on woodland maps and other things like that. If we could get them separated into West Germany (Woodland) and West Germany (Winter) and things like that. With one of the recent updates we also got some 90's era equipment that is also in the same faction.

Vermin
Vermin

Pretty good, adds some neat stuff. The map is good, and the winter version looks like it's actually winter and not just retextured white. The assets are all high quality and there's even a few things I haven't seen elsewhere like the bridge layer. I'd say it's worth what you pay, especially since it gets updates.

Arma 3 is great... these latest DLC's have been a total waist. Most of these DLC items are already accessible with FREE MODS, most with arguably better usability. Also, you can't use any of it with the normal game (has to be run in it's own "version"). It's like Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead (PMC etc), but that was actually good and you could have everything from Arma 2 and other DLC's available.

This DLC much batter historically accurate than any mods out there.. I like the infantry unit that very classic, no sci-fi tech gear, only equip with battle rifle with iron sight. developers don't care about community suggestions, they add unnecessary things there is a serious weapon problem, they do not even add the most iconic weapons of germany in terms of both sights and weapon variety, even though we mentioned some problems with the weapons and many things like fixing the sights, adding new weapons, they did not care and they think a shitty fire truck is more important than this things

Had a rough launch, but has received great updates and is a fantastic set of assets for the Cold War era, plus a great map. Some missions can be janky, but that seems like a chronic issue for Arma campaigns anyways. This DLC really shines in group ops and the quality of the assets makes it feel seamless with the basegame. Great DLC and it keeps getting better.

This review was changed from a negative to a tentative positive. I still think the price tag is still a little high for what is available but maybe it's because I haven't explored the content enough. Still, good enough to get on sale.

---------------------------------
New review
---------------------------------

This is why you leave comments on for reviews, boys and girls.

So I was frustrated by the fact that despite all this new content, I wasn't able to really use any of it outside of a niche scenario of East vs West Germany. Like, there weren't even any Soviet units. Turns out, this is not entirely true. You can change the emblems of all vehicles in the attributes section.

This means I can actually USE these vehicles in other missions, which is great, because while a lot of the vehicles can be found in other mods, these vehicles are of a higher quality, and there's still some unique ones that I want to use in different scenarios.

You can even change emblems on vehicles to countries that rightfully shouldn't have them. It's silly but I love that flexibility.

---------------------------------
Old, obsolete review below
---------------------------------
For over twenty bucks, I expected more than a couple of niche factions and weapons/vehicles available already from CUP.

That is not the most frustrating part, though. What stuff it shares with CUP and RHS, this mod still does to good quality, and there are still vehicles at least that are unique to this DLC, which I appreciate. However, they aren't numerous enough to justify this price tag.

But that isn't the biggest gripe I have with this mod. The most frustrating part is that I can't USE any of the good stuff.

Why not? Well, I want to be able to make mission scenarios OTHER than East/West Cold War Germany. The skins offered by this mod do not allow for that, because there are no other alternatives. Even the stuff like Soviet equipment does not come in any flavor other than East German.

Literally all the DLC's authors have to do is give a selection of skins without the country emblems on them. Do that, and I'll be a happy enough man to turn this negative review into a positive one. It would allow me great flexibility as a mission maker that this DLC sorely lacks at the moment.

CrimsonVirtue

Now; I bought this DLC basically exclusively for the T-55 and Leopard, since S.O.G Prairie Fire is severely lacking in armor overall.

I then promptly uninstalled and refunded it. Whilst this DLC is infinitely better than CSLA: Iron Curtain, it definitely isn't worth $22.99 USD. It's cluttered, most of the vehicle sounds are vanilla, and the sound design really isn't very good. The only redeeming quality I found, was the map, and even that's pretty lackluster.

tislub-s
tislub-s

Whether you like this or not depends, probably, on what you want to get out of it. I was primarily interested in the Cold-war era campaign. On the plus side, while the assets (unit textures, animations etc.) are very nicely done, the campaign is a disappointment:

The infantry missions are very bland (run a few hundred meters here, kill enemies, run a few hundred more meters there, kill enemies etc). A couple of them involved friendly AI getting stuck at or near the first objective, meaning either reloading or finishing the mission solo.

The tank missions are profoundly frustrating. They are similar to the infantry missions in their design but additionally involve getting your group of tanks to cross one or more bridges. The AI has huge difficulties with this, often either refusing to cross or getting immobilized in the river beneath. The crew of enemy AI tanks are able to hit moving targets with incredible accuracy from afar. In contrast, I caught my gunner multiple times:

- with his crosshair aimed next to enemy tanks, or at the barrels of enemy tanks, or performing a ridiculous horizontal 'scanning' movement over them
- not firing at enemy infantry even when close by and in full frontal view
- simply not responding to targeting instructions - or responding by aiming at nothing in a completely wrong direction.

As a result, the commander role is basically pointless.

The AI behavior here seems simply buggy to me - far beyond the generally poor performance one would usually expect from friendly Arma AI - and makes several of these missions feel like a chore.

The campaign's last mission does not really connect to the previous ones and the start of it doesn't make much sense. The whole thing feels like it was put together and finished off in a hurry.

Considering that there are free user-made campaigns that feel much more polished and engaging than this, it's a thumbs down from me.

i dont get the people saying the dlc sucks because the missions arent good

this dlc has amazing feeling guns, good sounds, a banger of a map, a lot of good vehicles, and an absolutely hilarious amount of berets. if youre thinking about buying this DLC because you like playing around in the editor or you actually play multiplayer, then it is well worth full price, let alone the amount it goes for on sale. I bought the DLC on sale for about 10€, which I think is a good bargain - the standard price of 20€ is a bit too much. Most of the time I enjoyed myself with the single player campaign. I like the voice acting, I like the new models and the scenario reminded me pleasantly of Operation Flashpoint. I was only frustrated when I had to play the tank missions. Controlling my own tank was okay, but once I had to give orders to my tank platoon, it became frustrating. Sometimes the tank commanders don't drive to the target I marked on the map, or they don't take the direct route and sometimes even my gunner doesn't fire even though I marked the enemies. But this is not the fault of the DLC, but of Arma's crappy AI.

MUMA
MUMA

It is the same as with the other DLC (Iron Curtain). It would be a cool mod, but for money and as an official DLC I expected more value. Although if you really feel a need of Cold War era mod this one is so much better than the Iron Curtain.

Claymore
Claymore

The Global Mobilization CDLC is high quality, and great fun for blowing tanks up. I will say that the campaign is somewhat lackluster, though still enjoyable. The AI often struggle to follow the player vehicle in formations other then column, although I didnt find it to be much of an issue, and the CDLC is not at fault for it. Very nice.

RagingBear

This DLC is pure kino. Also a sign of the times. If you read through the negative reviews you'll see a common theme of people saying, "it's just a paid mod" as though having Bohemia Interactive's logo on it would somehow change their opinion. The other complaint is that the DLC doesn't seamlessly integrate with the 2035 setting as though people think they're playing the Portal mode in Battlefield 2042.

Key points to take away:
-This DLC comes with a campaign, fantastic map, and an extremely high level of polish. Just like Bohemia's DLCs! Wow!
-DLC in general used to be viewed as "paid mods" regardless of developer. People lost their mind when Bohemia announced the British Armed Forces DLC for Arma 2 because "a modder already did this, why do I have to pay for it?" Bohemia basically replied, "Cool we love the modding community, if you'd rather use the mod that's fine by us" and the levels of seething were off the charts. Especially since they couldn't even use the "it will split the community" excuse. I suspect some people just didn't want to pay for a large chunk of optional new assets being added to their game.
-The developers have continued to support this DLC with new content and patches. They even created their own optional mods that add in factions using their assets for legacy Arma 2 maps. Wow!
-The DLC does not seamlessly integrate with the 2035 setting, its true. Also not sure why people are trying to blend the whole "not licensed near future" setting with 1980s tech but whatever.
-People have been asking for cold war/modern content since launch. "Not like this!" they then cried. Apparently what they really wanted was for Bohemia to just take the CUP/RHS mods slap a Bohemia logo on it and charge them for it.

Pathetic. Anyway you should buy this because it's good.

TROOPER
TROOPER

Global Mobilisation...well what can i say..... well lets see, firstly if your new to the game and have all the arma addon that means you have the tanks as well, i would suggest you get in to Virtual and train a little Cold war is in depth and has a good story line too it, and it takes you back to basic with the weapons and vehicles.

in game-

you will have control of your team (AI) and you can then move them however you please.... missions are straight forward and easy to understand, and in general game play and your own involvement makes the mission even better and exiting.

if you don't have this DLC yet, i suggest you invest in it.

At first, I had trouble with downloading this game. But now that it works, I think it's for sure a really really cool DLC. The only problem is that there's barely any multiplayer servers, and the multiplayer servers for this DLC that DO exist usually only have like 4 people at most.

On the other hand, if you only want to play solo or the campaign and other singleplayer stuff, then this DLC is definitely for you.

Honestly, I really wish this one was as popular as Prairie Fire, because this one is equally awesome, and it's really hard for me to give a rating like this for something that I like so much.

WOW This is one of my favorite DLC. The battles are very fun! I play it in VR using VorpX and that makes the experience indescribable. Definitely a lot more intense. The best part is that, compared with other DLC, in this one you are not a one-man army. You are part of a group fighting a war. Definitely you feel part of it. Combat scenarios are very diverse;
from tank warfare to urban and forest combat, there is balance between down time and action. Nothing feels dull.

Connie

GM is a pack i primarily purchased as an asset pack (mid-cold-war vehicles are my weakness), and for that - in most cases - it certainly provides. I'm not interested in the campaign (I don't like playing as a dirty westerner), which probably contributes to my overall enjoyment.

Over the time since it was released, GM has steadily got more and more content; including, by now, light planes for both sides and helicopters to boot. In addition to these, GM has a pretty decent map (albeit one with some issues i will elaborate on) and, again, quite the selection of vehicles.

GM probably has the most diverse operations-wise vehicle fleets in A3; even the lowly M113 has a range of variants, including Command, Engineering, and most enjoyably a ACAV/Light Tank variant. This extends to most vehicles, although mainly regarding West German ones. In addition to the standard Leopard, you get a bridge-layer (which is the first, official one) which is actually functional, and a CRV/Engineer's vehicle. Although the Osties only get Urals and UAZs, the West has 4 types of truck - ranging from heavy, 10-ton 8x8s to the lowly VW Iltis.

Now, all of this is ancillary to what i find most absolutely interesting and cool about GM; the Vehicle Customization system. Using procedural textures so you don't need to worry about weathering the vehicle's skins, the system itself does away with the En Bloc markings-and-camo which is standard in Arma 3 mods. Instead, in addition to the standard multiple camo system, the insignia and other markings (Such as force identification ones) can be changed in Eden, in the vehicle's configuration screen. This allows for, say, a novice mission maker to represent various smaller Eastern factions, and much easier skinning and modding - If you want, say, a T-55 marked up in the insignia of Australia, it's a simple matter of simply making and adding-in the insignia and livery in separate files; as opposed to handling lettering and marking in the same file as livery.

The above, IMO, is probably the most worthwhile part of GM, and it makes up for most of the heavy armor lacking full cockpits. I, personally, would absolutely love for the system to become standard.

I'd rate most everything else a resounding "Good", although it pales into the pure technological aspect that the livery system has added. In the worst case, where you don't have too much of an interest in East Vs. West, it's still a set of customizable mid-cold-war vehicles and weapons you could use in a lot of places.

Feels more like a mod and while it's not bad it's really not that good. The campaign is simple but fun and VERY challenging at times. However it's also very frustrating given that for many of the mission your AI teammates get stuck meaning you either have to run it solo, or reload the mission sometimes multiple times. The enemy infantry will either instant kill you or miss literally every shot. The German is poorly translated and the voice acting also very poor and monotone.

Overall, I do recommend HOWEVER you should wait for a sale and only get it if your interested in the cold war Germany setting.

Got this DLC since the beginning, it had a rocky start (why the mixed reviews) but it just keep getting better and better and they keep adding stuff every year. If you're a fan of the cold war it's for you! The details on the vehicles are simply amazing.

Fills a niche, but without quality.

The campaign is terrible. It doesn't explain why you're at war. You run miles and have to attack infantry at long range with ironsights while getting sniped, which is frustrating even if you're accurate because you'll get sniped through bushes anyway. Friendly APCs run over their comrades or get stuck. There's no hints for things like taking an opportunity to re-arm, or what direction a crewman relates to when he blurts out enemy spotted at some numbers (030 on the compass, to the turret's direction, to the front of the tank?).

The German voicelines sound very calm for being in a warzone, but knowing Germans this may actually be realistic. One bit gives you the option whether to have friendly tanks, and states that it will be more difficult depending on your choice, but it doesn't explain if having less teammates will be more difficult, or if the difficulty ramps up in response to you starting with more teammates. I had an autosave where I instantly got smashed by a rocket. I wasn't enjoying the campaign so I stopped.

As for the assets - the artillery didn't feel fun because the visual graphics range is shorter than the minimum artillery range, so you'd never see what you were hitting. There's only two planes, and all I've ever seen them do is just fly in circles until they clip a tree. The map looked fine, but it does bloat the game file size when there's no clear way to uninstall the DLC. I liked the visuals of the campaign intro, but everything else felt overpriced. At 100% positive recent reviews I think you'd need to go into it with lower expectations.

For me the best DLC so far. I just love playing in this scenario. The map is beautiful and reminds me of my childhood, the campaign is not easy but a lot of fun. Nobody likes to pay but this mod is so well.

On the last campaign mission I dressed up in a east german uniform and stole a Ural and the AI thought I was an east german soldier and didn't stopped me from running their guys over 10/10 would do it again

Campaign is very badly made, friendlies can't be killed and pathfinding sucks big time ( you have to reset mission because of that)
Map is nice looking, but AI has troubles with pathfinding in it, also there is some visual bugs and design flaws in it, like floating rocks, grass, trees and even water.
If you can't find online matches that use this DLC. Then you basically have to make your own missions with editor or download missions made by other players.
Detail in infantry units and weapons is perhaps the only good thing in this DLC, tanks and helicopters are also good looking, but they don't work as well as vanilla Arma 3 vehicles, so their handling is way different and AI has big trouble with them.
This mod is basically good only for online custom missions.

It´s a cool Dlc but please repair the Gear Officer (Piatol Holster Black for P1 west german army) Holster animation.
If the P1 is Holsterd the Grip sticks out on top. By the white holster it flashes a little bit on the side plase fix it i love holsters maybe you can implement a Gdr makariov holster too. Plaese fix it Obi wan Kenobi you are my last hope. And please do more Service uniforms West & East for Manschaften, Unteroffiziere,Offiziere and Generals. They all got different Kragenspiegel, Litzen, Kordeln and Shoulder Boards.

Fantastic assets, fun missions. (When you excuse Arma being Arma) Love the theme and time period and is a bit of a throwback to early games in the OFP/Arma series.
Campaign story was also pleasantly surprising in it's twists, turns and voice acting. Good quality, believable strategies made the missions really enjoyable.
The effort put into this for release and the follow up support post release has been awesome.

People keep complaining while this DLC is great;
- Missions can be a bit janky but there is not much more jank then there is in A3 in general
- People buy GM: Cold War Germany, then complain that it's Cold War Germany
> This is extra stupid because the devs created additional free workshop items for Altis, Chernarus, Takistan
> Look up Vertexmacht workshop items
> The mod is also used as a base for many Cold War projects, one could say it ignited a Cold War renaissance
> Ranging from Northern Ireland terrains to Bush War era factions
- So even when you are not into Cold War Germany it's worth getting as a base for mods like that when in sale

I love this DLC. Get it only when on sales. Still has some minor bugs. Overall the story is awesome and I like the fact you can play without commanding a whole platoon. I give it a big go !!
