I despise that the devs have hidden the best tracks behind a paywall BEFORE they have actually finished the main game !!!
This is cynical and money grabbing, worthy of EA/Activision/Ubisoft and those other shyster racing sim companies.
This pack effectively doubled the price of the game !
There's no complaint with the quality, just about the sheer balls of the company to do this - and I expect this is just the start of their pay-walling.
I finally have a "go to" sim racing game and this is it. Now that they have the AMG GT3 and Porsche GT3, I'm living the dream. This game is my go to because it brings so many aspects of other games to one place for me. Note that I'm currently using a Logitech g29 wheel and Fanetec V3 pedals.
Physics: Reminds me most of Rfactor 2. Doesn't have quite same incredible feel, but close. Much more exciting and fun compared to an ACC, AC, or Raceroom. They are all great sims, but you can actually push these cars unlike you can in ACC and the car feels more like its on an actual road than RaceRoom.
Force Feeback: Reminds me most of Rfactor 2: I can feel if a car is front engine or rear. With the unique dampening per car, each car truly feels unique. The AMG GT3 feels heavier than the Porsche as it should. Like (not to the level though) of Rfactor 2, you can really get aggressive and work the wheel.
Sound: Like nothing else to me. They nailed the Porsche GT3. With good headphones, you can tell you are driving a rear engine car because that is where the sound is coming from. No game has nailed this like this before. A great mix of the engine, transmission, brakes, and chassis noise for my ears. ACC and a modded AC sound good, but not like this this sound makes for great immersion. Better sound than Raceroom as Raceroom sounds too electronic and synthesized compared to this. Raceroom has excellent break, chassis, and curb sounds, this is up there on those fronts but with better engine sound.
Graphics: Its a beautiful game. The lighting and textures are great. Reminds me most of ACC but isn't so oversaturated. Where RFactor 2 falls behind is it's graphics (you can make them decent) but this game looks great and is a great mix of looking great but looking real. Excellent immersion and right up there with a fully modded AC, but with better textures.
Immersion: The only game where I truly get into my laps in quite the same way is Rfactor 2, but I get even more immersed in this game. The way you can push the car, get on the edge, the rear can get out a little without it meaning you are going to lose control (AC and ACC) is fun. The feeling of weight to the car and how it reacts to the road. The sound of the cars (especially the Porsche GT3) really puts you in the game and feel like you are truly playing a race sim.
My new favorite and I can't wait for more tracks.
My favorites go in this order:
AMS2
Rfactor 2
AC
Raceroom
ACC (just doesn't excite me, its a great game though)
Yup, it should have been included in the base game but the amount of different layouts that each track has is something that you probably won't find anywhere else. Different layouts from different points in time, how cool is that ?
Besides, if you read the details on each track pack, in some of them it is stated that a few more layouts will be added, and will be available to people like us, who purchased it without any additional cost.
In short, it is a great deal. Spa is yet to be released, and there will be another one of those tracks coming ( Monza ?) + future layout updates/addition all without any additional cost.
Probably the best driving game that I have played to date. I wish that they would add more U.S tracks but that is my sole complaint. Yes, you have to pay for additional tracks - but they are worth it! Great game.
SUCH A GREAT SIM/GAME.I really hope Sebring is added at some point but still very awesome in it's current state .It is maturing oh so nicely. Great feeling and beautiful in vr.
Nice if you just want a few tracks for offline play, especially now that you can upgrade to the season pass. That being said, you're probably better off getting the season pass.
releasing new dlc before finishing/even announcing the fifth track in this one, feels PepeHands man
Grabbed on a sale but the tracks are very well made! Better than PC2 imo.
Sweet bunch of tracks, very nicely made, the game is really good looking and performance is fantastic.
