Firstly, the new bow. It has two upgrade slots, which can get it to over 5.5k damage, which is stronger than the upgraded crossbow. It has a great skin on it, giving it a real stealthy look to it and like the Bozak bow, it has a scope. It's accuracy is much better than the normal bow, however it does not have as much range as the crossbow, so the arrow is going to fall earlier. The reload speed is also incredibly fast, so overall, it has, compared to the other bows, +power/damage, +accuracy (not including crossbow), and +reload speed. (The DLC also includes craftable arrows called Ranger Arrows, which are exactly the same as the Bozak DLC arrows, but if you don't own the Bozak DLC, then this is a cheaper alternative)

Secondly, the outfit. Well, it's a black and dark green camo outfit with utility pouches all over it. It does make you look like some sort of hunterm I guess. +looks

Thirdly, the buggy paint job. The paint job, in my opinion, looks very nice. It appears a little darker in game than it does in the screenshot. So +looks, then.

Overall, if you don't happen to have the Bozak DLC, then I'd definately buy this, but if you already own the DLC, then you're paying £1.99 for three skins.

They have the time to make a reskin of Bozak Bow to sell but they can't be bothered to at least fix the bug with arrows flying throught enemies when aiming down sights. And if that's intended behaviour as Fergus MacLeod pointed out, then it's just stupid. It could have a separate firing mode, a special kind of piercing arrow maybe; I fail to see how just the fact of you aiming down sights turns a normal bow into a gauss rifle all of a sudden.

Is it that bad to pay for different skins? Never played a game like CSGO?
Besides that it’s even more than just a different skin. Just buy it and enjoy this great game…

Love the bow. Faster fire rate and flatter trajectory than standard vendor bow. Good for nightmare mode where guns sort of lose their effectiveness.

A very nice bow for 99p just make sure you don't get blown up by your own explosive arrows. If you enjoy the sneaky approach from long range might be worth getting, not sure if worth full price but I've enjoyed it, thumbs up!

Don't know if there is a bug with this DLC, but when I craft this bow I get it only to 880 damage.
With upgrades I can get it to 1100. But this is very far from the 5500 damage I see other players are getting.

This probably has to be the best small dlc on dying light. There are not many bows at low levels that you will find that pack a punch enough to kill zombies with one hit. The ranger bow comes with a nice base damage of 400 which can take down the heavies with one shot to the head. It also comes with the elemental arrows without having to find the blueprint. The sights make it easy to shoot and getting used to its arrow drop is pretty simple. I bought this for the bow, but the outfit is a nice touch and the dune buggy paint job is not too bad. For $3, you cant go wrong. This is a great dlc for such a little price. You will find yourself using this bow more than anything else.

The cheaper alternative to the Bozak Horde, and the skins look okay, but let's be honest. You wanted the bow.

The bow is fairly broken for early game, but it has made the game rather enjoyable on hard difficulty.
I recommend this purely because it is fun and now gives a ranged weapon early without having to get to at least past Rais' quests to get a crappy 240 damage bow or pistol from the shop in the tower.
Now just craft a 400 damage bow and get some skins and you can craft elemental arrows and ranger arrows for it easilly.

This is a nice addition for Dying Light. I had fun with the Ranger Bow (This is a hands down go to weapon in the community), the paint job looks good as does the outfit.

Entirely worth it for the bow, the rest is a nice extra.

Ranger bow is the best bow in the game.

This DLC is for people who want to get the best bow in this game very early in the game, without actually playing Bozak Horde(Which is for late game), the only difference between Bozak and Ranger bows is that Ranger bow has a little bit more damage but it doesn't really make much difference.

Not included in Season Pass, what is this money grubbing? I paid good money for all the future dlc's when this game was launched, yet when you release game changing new weapons and cosmetic items you don't give them to Season Pass owners.... UN-BE-LIEV-A-BLE

Ssenkrad_II
Ssenkrad_II

These DLC's (save for "The Following") are PTW, simple as that...

You can craft the weapons and give them to other players who can see them, pick them up, and click on them in their inventory at which point in time the game will tell them "you need to buy this in order to use it"...

These weapons are literally the most powerful weapons in the game and can be used/crafted as soon as they are purchased...

Game companies will continue these sick practices until people stop letting them get away with it...

The Bow and the Sweet Arrows it allows you to craft will serve you well.
When you can defend the night against Volitiles with just a bow on a roof..
You have achieved perfection.

Bought this cause I like bow hunting zombies, but I find at times you can not retreive your arrows all the time like the normal bow or crossbow. When you craft hunter arrows they appears as regular arrows and the same with the 4 arrow blueprints. Is this a bug not being able to get all the arrows back you shot? In the end I dont know if it is more powerfull than Bozak bow, you can mod it twice and put legend points in bow skill. Whats your feedback?

DO NOT BUY THIS UNLESS YOU WANT TO RUIN YOUR GAME

YOU CAN CRAFT IT FROM THE START AND IT IS FUCKING WAYYYY OVERPOWERED

Really only got this DLC for the bow, the outfit and the buggy skin was a fair bit generic, the sort of thing that may as well be in the base game or in The Following, moreso The Following, now that I think about it.
The Ranger Bow has the potential to become the most powerful ranged weapon in the game, with the exception of the high tier shotguns. If you have maxed bow damage via Legend skill and both of the Ranger bow's mod slots are equipped with Gladiator mods (I say Gladiator because only the damage can be increased on bows so do not waste your King mods on it!) then it can reach a total of 5500 damage, enough to one shot a Goon at Normal difficulty regardless where it hits him.

The Volitile Hunter Bundle and the Harran Rangerr Bundle are game breakers. They give you weapon bps that are about 100%-200% better than anything you can get ingame.

For new players it ruins the experience

Bow's base stats: 400 firepower, 0 accuracy, 18 rate of fire. There are 2 upgrade slots on it as well, so base firepower can be increased by an extra 25 per damage level buff (so 500 firepower with 2x gladiator mod). Doesn't require much to craft it either.
Arrow blueprints require 1x metal parts + 1x aerosol/chemicals/batteries to make 8.

Only 'Bundle' DLC worth considering IMO. Basically gives you all the Bozak rewards for a fraction of the cost and not needing to unlock them. The skins in here are nice too.

This DLC is awesome, it gives that awesome Bow with all 4 Arrow types, deals a huge damage to enemies and silent too.

A great looking skin with a bow the same power as Bozak's that's much easier to get. It's basically the cheat code for Bozak Horde.
Good price, just skip on that soda tomorrow and get this, it's great value for the money.
This is NOT a skin for the standard bow. It's a brand new, more powerful bow.

Gameplay-wise, here's a couple tips/things to consider:

The Ranger bow is craftable from very common, inexpensive materials as soon as you can use the crafting menu. The same goes for Ranger arrows. Elemental arrows are also craftable right away, but use more rare materials.

One-shotting most things to the head, it makes a Nightmare new game infinitely easier as the early game is by far the most difficult part of Nightmare.

Firing arrows while aiming through the sight will cause them to penetrate enemies. This makes the Ranger bow powerful even against groups, but you can lose arrows very easily this way. Arrows are cheap to craft, so it's more of an annoyance than anything. Fire without aiming and arrows will stick to the first enemy hit.

It has two upgrade slots, and only benefit from damage mods since it has no durability and has a fixed "reload" speed. Wait until you have +2 damage mods (Barbarian I think?) as removing mods is not possible, but don't use rare Kings and similar.

Because of a "gameplay feature" on the console version that made it into the PC port, bows (including the Ranger and Bozak bow) will auto-aim generally towards the chest area of enemies. If you're within 4-5 meters, aiming at the head will hit the head, but farther away you need to aim above their heads as the auto-aim will drag the arrow towards the chest. There's currently no way to disable this in the options. In other words, it does NOT function the same way as the crossbow, which aims and fires like a gun.

It's better than the standard bow in every way.

5/5 DLC, very cheap little gameplay addition that has infinite replay value and is worth every penny.

Upgraded Crossbow:
Max damage: 5280
Elements: stun, impact, toxic
Pros:
- Long distance, straight trajectory → better accuracy
- Don’t have to hold fire button to reach max power → The mouse can be handle easier vs bow
- Can shot while running, can shot in the middle of dodge.
- Crosshair will be enlarged while walking, but accuracy is still the same.
Cons:
- Slower than Ranger Bow (around ~10% vs full drawing Ranger Bow, based on my testing)
- Accuracy will be reduced a lot if shot in the middle of dodge or while running. (Hold down aiming button or wait a little bit to counter it).

Ranger Bow:
Max damage: 5500 (2x kings upgrades)
Elements: fire, electric, explosion
Pros:
- Variable shooting speed, even full drawing shot is still faster than upgraded crossbow (~10%)
- Crosshair (tiny dot) doesn’t change while moving/dodging.
Cons:
- Medium range (still much better than bow)
- Hold fire button to reach max power → handle is harder vs crossbow
- Can't power shot while running.
- Can only shot at the end of dodge.

Conclusion:
Not game-breaking. I still prefer Upgraded crossbow. This DLC makes bow useful again, but not very necessary, unless you really love bow.

DLC verdict: Get it in the Ultimate Collection OR Get it on sale

Comment:
The paint job for the buggy is decent and the outfit is cool (although it is VERY similar to the Urban Explorer outfit from the Ultimate Survivor Bundle). But the real reason why people love this DLC is the Ranger Bow. With base damage of 400, two upgrade slots and 18 rate of fire it is possibly the best bow in the game. Not only that but you can basically craft it in the beginning of the game as the resources needed for it are trivial. If that wasn't enough this DLC adds the ability to craft four arrow types - Ranger's (classic), Ranger's Incendiary (fire), Ranger's Electric and Ranger's Exploding. The materials needed for these are also easy to find. Some consider this game-breaking as it really softens the start of the game and it does tamper with it so keep that in mind. Personally I liked the ability to headshot my way through the early stages with the classic arrows ... but the choice is yours. However, this DLC is NOT part of the Season Pass or Enhanced Edition. It IS available in the Ultimate Collection bundle so get it there or just get it on sale, the content is REALLY good.

P.S.: You will unlock and use the buggy during The Following campaign expansion.

I always say the same thing for $3 skin bundles, don’t get them. First of all, $3 is too much for a pack, and second, you most likely won’t even use the skin. They try to lure you in with cheap prices.

Quality: 95/100 (still looks decent)
Price: 67/100

Base game overall rating: 9.6/10

I... I've got mixed feelings about this DLC. I don't want to recommend it but at the same time it isn't a bad addition to the game. If i could give it a mixed rating I would

The Bow: I have a love hate relationship with it. It is the strongest bow in the game, out damaging the Bozak bow and the Crossbow! The Ranger bow and the Bozak bow almost look the same, I think it pretty much just different colours. That, and the Ranger bow arrows are able to go through zombies when you aim, and if my memory servers me correctly, the Bozak bow doesn't do that. You are also able to craft every type of arrow in game which makes the Bozak Hoard even more... not really worth doing, if you're only doing it for the bow.

The player's new outfit: I like it, but that might just be because I like heavy armour. It matches the Ranger bow (because you know... its a pack of items) and the nice green and yellowish colours look nice. Plus you get a sick little leaf thingy on your face. Not much else to talk about here.

The car's new paint job: It's meh to me. It's not a bad paint job, but I don't really use it. I personally believe that there are better paint jobs, but I could see how people could like it.

All in all? It's alright. I wish the Bozak bow was better than the Ranger bow since you have to work harder for it, but eh, whatever. If you wanted a better bow then I recommend this DLC, otherwise it's probably not worth it.

I already beat the game and the DLC... started a new playthrough recently and noticed that the bow from this pack is available to craft at pretty much any level and the parts needed to make it can easily be pilfered within the first hour of the game.

It's super OP at this level, able to kill pretty much anything that isn't a Volatile with one headshot. Add on the fact that it's silent and you can re-use the arrows...

10/10 would pay2win again.

What you will regret is trying to obtain all the arrow blueprints from the Bozak DLC.

The Ranger Bow is extremely powerful, especially if you are just starting out.

It feels weird to recommend a DLC pack with basically only one thing: the Rangers Bow.

Here are my reasons why:
1. Running around sniping zombies is great fun and makes you feel like a Ninja
2. The games basic bow has some weird issue with auto-aim beyond a certain range, making sniping very difficult
3. The basic bow is limited to one upgrade slot, meaning eventually the damage will be too low to warrant using
4. You can now craft elemental arrows instead of buying them
5. You don't have to deal with an annoying, frustrating, time-limited DLC mission to get.

I got this DLC for 2 bucks and I think it was money well spent. Sure, It would have been nice for this to have been included in the base game, maybe gated behind some tougher content (but not as tough as Bozak Hoard) or requiring rare components to produce. But in the end, it's still fun to use.

Note: The bow does make some situations in the game trivial to deal with. An upgraded bow can easily take down a demolisher at range in one shot. You can also get this very early on, since the basic game bow doesn't even appear until survivor level 9 but the ranger bow is crafted using common materials. It can make things a bit too easy so be warned.

Worth it just for the bow, even at full price. That thing is badass. This is one of the first things i've ever paid full price for on Steam and I don't regret it. (Also, that glow-in-the-dark outfit dlc. Combine it with this and you're the ultimate badass)

The Horror Network
The Horror Network

Yet another winner of a DLC, the Harran Ranger Bundle offers an overpowered bow that almost comes across as a necessity. Craftable from scrap materials, and coming in with 400 base damage and two upgrade slots, that means that this bow can be upgraded to take down nearly anything in the game in one shot. It nocks fast, has an incredibly long range, and although it has a slight learning curve to its precision it's still pretty accurate. This DLC also comes with blueprints for four different arrow types, meaning you no longer have to spend your precious cash on them at traders. The outfit and buggy skin are alright if you're into that sorta camo, but the real prize here this time are the blueprints.

Highly recommended for a day one player. The bow can be made at level 1 and it does a shit ton of damage. Its practically cheating at lower levels when it comes to the mutated infected. And it fires flame and shock arrows, need I say more?
