If u want a bundle with really good weapon mods, get the savvy gamer bundle, as it has an rgb axe that if modded onto a golden pickaxe and 4 kings on it as well, you become unstoppable. Also, add the godhammer blueprint for more power.

I decided that it was pointless to write such a long yet truthful review because they always fall upon deaf ears. So below I will sum it all up in one sentence. Regardless of my eternal boredom for playing.

Pretty much EVERY single part of this game is complete and total garbage and they do not care. Just look at how awful the second game is. It made me realize all the screw-ups with this game.

- Are the weapons viable?
Holy sh*t yes, the Polearm is especially OP. Due to its length it can hit enemies from quite far away once swung. It also is quite cheap to craft, making it especially useful for early game players.
- Do they add anything unique to the game? (Eg. new mechanics or buffs)
Unfortunately not.
- What do I think of the outfit?
I love it. The Gold straps go nicely with the red Tactical outfit.
- Do the DLC Items add anything unique to the game? (Passive buffs)
The Polearm has a damage boosting effect after 3 successful hits, however the other weapons and also the outfit do not feature any special abilities.
Overall rating: 8/10
The Polearm and Crossbow are the highlights of this DLC. While the crossbow has a slow reload time, the damage output makes it worth using, especially for early game players. I also highly recommend using the 2 melee weapons as they can be upgraded further with king mods and orange tier blueprints to add elemental effects! The long reach of the Dragon Xi polearm is especially strong as it can hit many swarming infected at once. It's power/ charged attack can also easily kill an Alpha Volatile in one shot (If you aim at its head.).

A very fitting theme given the news from Wuhan! Crossbows are grotesquely overpowered and a new variant is always welcome. Techland is a developer worth supporting.

Right up there with the Retrowave bundle, this 2020 Chinese New Year celebratory pack is one of the best DLCs for Dying Light. Some might even deem it a necessity for new players, since it offers up the ability to create a compound bow from regular crafting materials; forfeiting the need to buy or play The Following expansion. Being able to craft Gust of Wind with very minimal materials is a huge boon to players, as the bow itself is silent, accurate, fairly quick to reload, and it has a generous distance before the arrow falls. The arrows themselves are also cheap to make. The Dragon Ji polearm is a very deadly melee weapon to have, as it slices and dices through zombies effortlessly. The Leaping Tiger Dao isn't as good, it's just okay really, and the bonus damage for consecutive hits from both weapons is negligible. The new outfit looks alright, but I didn't notice a reduction in getting grabbed by enemies (as the store page indicates). The Buggy skin is pretty sick to boot. Overall, a worthwhile purchase for the ability to craft a compound bow in the base game, with an extraordinarily powerful polearm as an extra bonus.

The weapons are a little overpowered, but very fun to use. If you wanna keep more of a realistic feeling to the game i would not recommend this pack. However if you wanna have a blast cutting through tons of zombies with ease I say its a must have. I loved it.

Dying light has a good number of Dlcs . This is one of the Dlcs that are a must have. Please make more unique Dlcs like this. I would give this a 8 out of 10. It would be a full 10 out of 10 if they added more samurai/ ninja inspired weapons to this Dlcs. I feel like this Dlc could have had more content to it. What weapons would I suggest if they could add more weapons. I would say nunchucks, ninja sai, Kusarigama and Naginata and a Japanese inspired blackpowder weapon would be epic, such as a Japanese matchlock. I feel like they could have done more with this Dlc. The quality of this Dlc though is really good. Speaking of blackpowder weapons they need to add that to the game it would be cool, fun and something new and refreshing .

If you're a new player I recommend 3 dlcs. First Dying Light - Retrowave Bundle Second Dying Light - Shu Warrior Bundle and finally Dying Light - Vintage Gunslinger Bundle.

This bundle was my choice and it's actually a pretty good one. Finally, a fast pole-arm that also has a reasonable amount of damage for the speed. And, who isn't annoyed by the zombie grab in this game? The outfit is a nice touch.

Dying light is whereitsat... and they said parkour and melee attacks couldn't be done with 1st person view! uh huh, more like "they didn't know how!" and this game is continual action... a blast and natural to play.

As someone who has been playing DL since 2015, this is my go to and most recommended DLC pack. For like $3-$4.50 You can't go wrong here.

TL;DR: If you can only get one Dying Light DLC, get this one

- The Dragon Ji Polearm weapon is just insane, its damage is boosted after three hits and the heavy attack can even one-shot Blue Volatiles.
- The Leaping Tiger Dao is also an amazing sword, comes with 3-hit damage boost and you can put legendary blueprints on it like a normal sword, it's deadly.
- The outfit is also a must have, possibly the only remotely useful outfit from any dlc which reduces your chance of being grabbed by biters, which is literally constant. The outfit appears to make it harder for biters to grab you from behind or the side, incredibly useful for vets and new players.
- You can make the crossbow without a bow or crossbow, its very OP and it's incredible. Say goodbye to the Ranger Bow cause this DLC makes most of the other DLC gear redundant.

THE POLEARM IS THE BEST WEAPON IN THE GAME, After the Volatile Hunter BATON, yeah it has a LONG range to be melee.
The Crossbow is KILLER and you can craft it with normal common stuff from base game.
The Sword is OK just that, BUT! Both the polearm and the sword can be ENHANCED with elementals!!!! They come from a normal weapon, and then you can put elemental damage and then the mods, yeah it is cool.

The outfit works, the shu warrior outfit doesn't prevents 100% the biting but it happens a lot less.

Get this.

This is a pretty nice skin-pack but its not the best.

-The spear does not do that much damage
-The sword does more damage then the spear which is weird
-The crossbow is pretty good though
-Each 3 hits the weapons turn into flames which is nice.

I would rate is a rough 6/10

Ay buy the bundle, the outfit is nice but doesn't exactly look like the same when u try to see it on yourself.
The sword.... I love it just cuz I'm into the whole Katana swords and stuff.
The crossbow is the best looking in the game and the buggy is well um red n golden.

This is a good DLC.
I got it for the Dragon Ji polearm because I thought that we finally had spears in Dying Light. We don't unfortunately, but it's still cool!

Truly great weapon pack. (Gust of Wind) Xbow is awesome, really speeds up the game and defends me constantly, somehow the Upgraded Crossbow in The Following DLC is not working as well..though, my bolts disappear, without hitting the target if i shoot ..an NPC over 50 meters away, But with thix CrossBow it doesn't happen. which is great, the only drawback is this Xbow is not good as camouflage, but the Upgraded Cross(X)Bow is... meaning it would be better for PVP.

What the Dragon Ji polearm is lacking in damage stats... it makes up for in raw ability ..as in the ability to 1hit most enemies (especially later in the fight), so even when the damage seems low, it has that special ability and when you start upgrading weapons with your Legendary lvl it gets a kick to it's base stats, but since it tends to 1-hit most enemies in the beginning of the game and at the end, it's useful 67% of the time...So, in any situation (except against volatiles, i assume), i look forward to seeing its damage boosted at maximum base dmg, i'm only at 23 legendary and it works fine again.

I haven't used the skin, but the store makes its passive ability sound good.

The Tiger Dao (sword) is good, although you need to be actively fighting to trigger its passive. It also doesn't cleave as well as the Dragon Ji from my experience, but it's still a good, solid sword with great handling.

The Dragon Ji (spear) feels amazing to use and cuts real nice, especially with upgrades. Has a fire effect when you use a charged swing. The only downside is that it can make a fairly annoying *cling* sound a little too often and unnecessary at times.

Having a craftable crossbow immediately unlocked in any playthrough is always great.

I haven't bothered with the buggy skin.

Overall a good DLC, especially when on sale.
