The words that come to my mind when I think of this DLC are iconic, stunning, revolutionary, and game changing. Make no mistake, Frog Fractions may be a beautiful game jam-packed with unforgettable gameplay and cutscenes, but with Hop's Iconic Cap the experience is taken to a whole other level. People may say you cannot improve on perfection, but this DLC proves them wrong on so many different levels. It's truly remarkable how much this game could be improved with the addition of Hop's Iconic Cap, and for that the developers have my respect. Bravo, Twinbeard Inc!

Frog's don't normally wear hats, so the idea is patently ridiculous. Despite this, I am pleased to say that this cap is quite nice. Highly recommended

This is the new Frog Fractions game. I dont know, it's like the magic is gone. If you liked the self aware weird games like the original FF you've seen the genre grow and this feels stale.

With the inclusion of Hop's Iconic Hat, this game is truly a work of art, the warm knit cap truly lets you embody the role of Hop and his life story. Me and the other diehard fans on the forums have been begging the developers to finally allow us to experience the game we've all been craving for years, in true 4K HD. It's truly a different game with the inclusion of Hop's truly Iconic Cap.

There's never been a better time to learn some fractions.

BUY THE HAT DLC: I'm 100% serious, this is serious, not a funny review. BUY THE DLC, it gives you a completely different experience. I'm trying not to spoil it for you, but if you've played this game in the past then you should already know that with this game is NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS.

BUY THE DLC. BUY THE DLC. It won't seem different at first but once another character starts to talk about your new hat, that's when you know you're starting the new route.

Never before has a simple cosmetic mod for a classic game brought some much additional context and color to the narrative and new life to the game play. To take one of the greatest games of all time and enhance it in this simple way is the purest art.

The hat DLC is more than just a hat... But it does not deliver like the previous two installments of Frog Fractions. It tries to be more story based than it's predecessors, but it's just boring and confusing. There so few minigames, and those are not fun. The final one on a mine is like a poor man's SteamWorld Dig, and it's the best this game has to offer. You will just have to play without a hat, I guess.

I can't believe they've finally put Hop's Iconic Cap™ into the game! People have been clamoring for YEARS for this piece of DLC and lo and behold it has finally arrived! Anyone playing without Hop's Iconic Cap™ will most likely miss the author's true artistic vision that was put out onto the world with the original Frog Fractions. Now we can all experience the masterpiece like never before!

Dang, love this hat. Dont click below if you haven't bought the hat. This review is only for the elite few who have worn this hat on their virtual frog
This game definitely appealed to me massively. I can understand the humour and story not appealing to some people, it is a bit whacky random cheese-money at points, but it's definitely is written well. I love all the characters, annd I wish I had more time with them.

It is a short game, but it's really a long game for the price, probably like maybe 5 or so hours? I didn't really time it. It felt too short when the credits hit, but then, ok, wait a minute, ending spoilers in the next one:

After the credits hit, you get to keep playing the fun minigame I felt like was prematurely ripped away from before, with a whole new epilogue that wraps everything up super nicely. It feels polished and fun, and it still has a lot of the cool signature changes, with the exception that it's allowed the dev time to be polished, since they don't have to design a whole new engine every couple minutes.

In hindsight, it is really impressive all of the different mechanics and engines and game types crammed into this super cheap game. You never spend enough time in any of them to rub up against any sharp edges, it is a surprisingly well polished and charming game. I think I might have enjoyed this more than frog fractions 2, which was actually frog fractions 3, which sorta felt a bit up itself and didn't really have any enjoyable story going on.

Overall, I don't think this hat appeals to everyone, everyone has their own unique preferences and experiences in hat-wearing. For me though, it felt tailored to me, unlike previous hats from this dev, which felt a bit loose. One-size-fits-all never really fits as well as a tailored hat.

Great hat!

You wouldn't think a cosmetic hat DLC would add so much to the game but you'd be amazed!

This cap is truly iconic. I felt incredible playing this game while wearing this hat. It was the hat I wanted to wear. It was the hat I've wanted to wear for like...a long time, actually. Y'know, back in 2016 or so, I thought I was gonna get to wear a hat like this. I ended up wearing something else, and it was also very wonderful and a great time was had, but a little part of me wanted to wear a hat like this hat right here. And in the year of our frog 2020, I finally got to wear such a hat. And it was worth the several dollars.

But if you, the reader who is reading these words, have not played Frog Fractions and are buying this DLC with the game, remember: this hat is only for experienced players. You have to know you are ready to wear the hat before you can take the plunge. Well, after. Whatever.

You may say "I don't need a hat. I've lived my entire life up to this point without a hat." And that may be true.

But what if I told you that, once you have this hat, you will begin to start living the entire rest of your life. Think about that. Think about that hat.

Honestly, I would have been perfectly fine to just give the developers ten dollars as a show of appreciation for their hard work. But to get not a merely ordinary hat, but an ICONIC CAP, in return?! Truly, this good fashion is what we need more of in our lives. This is the kind of hat that changes lives! Brings a happy family together! And boy howdy, do I enjoy seeing a happy family brought together. I support this hat, and these developers, one hundred percent...maybe even 200%!

I hesitated in buying this DLC.
The dilemma is that I am normally against political statements in video games, and the hat is not making the feeblest of attempts of pretending to be anything but.
That said, it is iconic enough to convince me to buy it, after seeing it in action, both during gameplay and cutscenes, I knew that I made the right choice.

Definitely recommended.

This DLC is a bit of an odd case, because I played and loved the first Frog Fractions. Its absurdist and clever humor, rapidly-changing gameplay styles, and nonsensical and somewhat nonexistent plot made me enjoy the game from start to end. However, the same cannot be said for this DLC. Although the idea of an entire game hiding within a DLC where the frog wears a hat is a stroke of genius, most of the game’s legitimate comedy ends there. For some strange reason, the DLC focuses more on the story of the “characters”, and tries to tell an intimate family story. This is especially strange, considering that the original game doesn’t really have any actual characters, at least in a dimensional sense. The writing, for one, is nowhere near as clever, or as mildly edgy than the first game. There’s a lot more of it than before, cluttering up scenes with inoffensive, generic drivel. The jokes are also very abstract, to say the least. One mission has you avoiding bullets, and when hit a random spoiler from a piece of media is given to you. Many of the game’s jokes in general felt like they brushed off me, as opposed to making me laugh and smile like they did in the first game. The story itself is confusing, too. Plot points are thrown at you rapidly, and you’re expected to catch all of them. Characters’ nonchalant behavior and actions never failed to irritate me in certain parts of the game. In addition, the gameplay is generic, too. Although it mechanically functions, there’s nothing particularly engaging about it, since it lacks the sporadic and well-written nature of the original game’s styles of gameplay. Even more strange is that each style is cluttered up with repetitive and annoying dialogue, which only got worse as the game dragged on. More than half of the game is allocated to a singular gameplay style, a digging minigame. The point and click sections were a slog to get through. There were so many missed opportunities for jokes and dialogue, but the game didn’t want to have fun and tried to take itself as seriously as possible, at least dialogue-wise in those parts of the game. The heart and the soul that made the original Frog Fractions great is absent in this DLC. I didn’t play the original Frog Fractions for the story. I played it to laugh, and to appreciate all the weird dialogue and gameplay styles. This DLC is not worth it in the slightest, considering that the DLC is an add-on to the original Frog Fractions, which you can get for free. If you loved the original Frog Fractions and wanted more, this is certainly not the game for you. Do yourself a favor and skip this one. Your money’s worth spending elsewhere.

I'm glad that they finally added what this game really needed--an iconic hat. Like TF2, the hat addition really makes this game shine, but if you decide you want to play without that hat, it's also an option to keep the original style.

It's like Frog Fractions, but with a cooler cap, and then some! Definitely a fun ride. Sure, you can finish it in one sitting, but that's actually a selling point, IMO: you don't have to have a whole lot of patience and free time to get a fun experience out of it!

Is it weird that I went into this with false expectations?

I picked this up almost immediately after finishing Frog Fractions 3. The humor was hit-or-miss, but I unironically adored the puzzles of TXT World. The various minigames were a nice bonus, but they were always secondary to whatever challenge it took to reach them. This game is... mostly just the minigames. There are shades of the challenge, particularly with the point-and-click section and the mining section, but most of the game is being supported by the humor alone, and it just doesn't do much for me.

Sometimes we have great ideas and the world thinks we're brilliant. Then we do it again and it's not as interesting. Then we do it a third time and it's about as middle of the road as you'd expect for a joke we've done three times. Maybe somewhat worse. But we really want to capture the magic again. Yet. We didn't. So, maybe... we should stop there.

This is truly everything I wanted from a frog fractions game, and I'm so happy that it exists. While the original Frog Fractions was an exciting surprise, and Frog Fractions 3 had a very cool overarching puzzle, Hop's Iconic Cap is the installment that left me feeling the most positive. Without spoiling too much, it has a cohesive and genuinely touching narrative stringing together its varied and enjoyable gameplay segments. I'm really happy to have experienced it, more than any other Frog Fractions.

The basegame is brilliant, funny, and an all-time favourite. (It's a PC port of the original flash game, and it's still free.)

I normally don't support DLCs, but I bought the "Hop's Iconic Cap" DLC to give a little something back to Twinbeard for the hours of childlike fun they brought me.

I've just started playing the DLC, but so far it is beautiful, sets a very different tone, and I can't wait to see where the story will still take me. It's also still funny in its own, very unique way. Try it and let me know if you agree.

Plus, Hop is wearing a hat in this one.

The other reviews are NOT joke reviews, this may in fact be Frog Fractions 4! What you get for 10 bucks is a coherent story with distinct characters (characters that I cared about more than anyone Bioware has written in the last 20 years) that overall took me ~4.5 hours to finish only finding 6 of 30 achievements.
