This was a lot of fun, not sure why so many people are angry or upset. Towelie shows up and says dumb things and it's funny.

As a part of the season pass, it's ok. As a standalone purchase, it's just another proof that Ubisoft's management doesn't give a crap about video games and only looks for the money.

Towelie: Your Gaming Bud DLC:
Psoitives:
+ for the first gameplay ok
Negatives:
- for more than one gameplay is this DLC anyoing

ReapTheChaos

Does nothing but give you hints you either already knew, were obvious, or could have figured out yourself. The few times I really did need help, he was nowhere around and I had to use an online guide.

Towelie: Your Gaming Bud is a DLC for South Park: The Fractured But Whole. Basically, with this package installed, at certain points during the main game, the titular Towelie will pop-up on the screen to give you either tutorial messages or say something funny and/or messed up.

While Towelie's intromissions can get genuinely entertaining, the DLC demands quite an hefty price and, by all accounts, this looks like content that should had been in the base game in the first place

Sigma
Sigma

Absolutely useless. Shows up at pointless times and allegedly gives game hints but all you get is 1.99 for a couple of jokes here and there. Not worth your money, you must skip it unless it was bundled.

If Towlie was a usuable character then my opinon would've changed. But no, he only shows up once every time you get to certain areas in the game and never again.

"Don't forget to bring a towel"...
more like "don't forget to not buy this useless DLC!"

Seriously guys, why the hell would you buy this DLC instead of getting it with the Season Pass?
I mean, sure it's bad but it's still pretty funny sometimes.
You're supposed to get this trash with the SP not buying this thing standalone ffs

Incident Report
Incident Report

I know he's meant to be annoying, but he's still annoying.

Also to make it worse, because the game goes through uPlay, the only way to uninstall him is to uninstall the whole game, then uncheck Towelie on Steam, then install the game again.

He's annoying enough that I have considered this approach.

Great thing but it definetely shouldn't be a paid dlc , instead it should have been in the base game already - despite that , i think it's cool

BecauseRaisins
BecauseRaisins

the only dlc I've ever turned off because it genuinely makes the game worse, the only reason you should ever own this is because you bought the season pass, it is a blight unto us all

Kinda funny seeing all the reviews about Towelie being annoying and unhelpful... Kind of like they've never seen South Park before, or don't realize he was just meant to be a pre-order bonus.
I actually wish he popped up just a bit more often, being just a little more high, and maybe trying to do the tune to funkytown on some random keypad.

David the Goliath
David the Goliath

I got the full package on sale and didn't realize this was DLC until I looked it up.

Remember Clyde's wise words from The Stick of Truth: 'Don't waste your money on tips and rumours'?
That includes this little rip-off.

XzibitusaK
XzibitusaK

It's just a really annoying tutorial, that's it.
Paying for annoyance is not a smart move.
And purchasing a tutorial is even dumber.
This DLC was probably just a joke attempt.
And therefore I can't recommend buying.
It's alright if you get it in the season pass.
But otherwise? It's just a waste of money.

PsychoWedge
PsychoWedge

This is a voiced tutorial. For 1,99€. 1.99. Euros. As in real money. For a voiced tutorial...

Ubi$oft is kinda perverted.

vuurengeltje
vuurengeltje

all you get is a lousy towel and a "mascot" to throw some tips and hints to you and if you're familiar with the previous game you already know that stuff too! sorry to say but it's useless, a waste of money even on discount
>:(

The actual content is great (but extremely minor), but the fact that this is being sold as an extra DLC is an absolute joke. I bought the Gold Edition on sale, so I got this DLC as part of it and it never crossed my mind that it might be a DLC until I saw it on the store, because it's basically just the occasional tutorial pop-up or funny comment from Towelie. Absolutely disgraceful that this wasn't part of the base game...

no face no case
no face no case

People are complaining, but forgetting one thing. Towlie is a stoner. And stoners need reminding of controls and other techniques when stoned out their head.... a little helping hand isn't so bad

Thanks Towlie, for reminding me on controls and helping me out in many situations.

Doge
Doge

got it with the 90%off sale so didnt ruin my finances, but this should have been just part of the base game. but i got atleast a laugh and a half from it.

Nix
Nix

Note: Included in the season pass.

It's basically a paid tutorial. Towelie will occasionally pop up on your screen and guide you through some game mechanics that you probably already figured out yourself. It should have honestly been part of the base game.

Taelend
Taelend

I got it bundled with all the DLC and the game at $19.99 total. For that price i'm not mad, but I would never pay for this as it adds nothing too useful other than an occasional towelie assistance to something i already know how to do.

AstralFloof
AstralFloof

Towelie is hilarious, his commentary is rarely repetitive unless you rewind. he's an amazing little bastard! and he even shows up in your inventory, which i found greatly amusing!

yassaynoon
yassaynoon

He is not a tutorial or anything but he is likely a reminder which tells you the things you forgot to do and tells if there is a boss but is isn't worth getting it

Glitchavo Fring
Glitchavo Fring

I wouldn't even buy this with my own cum. Should've been in the base game itself. It's alright though, he did help me in certain situations.

cool-dude
cool-dude

You're paying two dollars so that Towlie will show up from time to time to tell you what the game has likely already told you in the tutorial phase of the game.

Jimboi

Towelie is such a Piece of sh#t, and the fact that I paid for his dlc makes me hate him even more, f#ck you Towelie k#llyourself.

M

If you purchase this, Towelie will occasionally pop up and give you some help. The problem is that the puzzles in the game are not hard enough to warrant purchasing an in-game guide. Towelie even stops being useful on day 2 after the marijuana mission. After that, he just randomly shows up to be annoying. Not worth it.

Tuomo L
Tuomo L

"Don't forget to bring a towel!!"

One of the worst DLC ever made, Towelie sometimes pops up and says something "helpful" and only sometimes is that even remotely useful and most of what he says is just unfunny and even if it'd be funny, he just pops very few times in the game and contributes almost nothing. Stay far, far away from this one.

Got it for free, it's okay but I mean I feel bad for people who bought it with money instead of from the Ubi store

dwit faifeld

Ima be real here I genuinely thought this was part of the base game since I had all DLCs from the beginning, now that i'm learning this is DLC that's bullshit

Hagger

TOTALLY useless. I feel bad for the people who paid for it.

Sigurd

Unbelievably annoying. give useless hints, tells you stuff that the game has already told you. and unfortunately you can't turn it off even if you uninstall the dlc and turn it off in the menus

Statyks
Statyks

This is funi.

Lots of people are crying their eyes out that they paid $2 for this buddy, and are making out that this is the definitive tutorial for the game. They seem to have completely missed 2 key features:

1. This was a pre-order bonus and therefore used to be free
2. This is not a real tutorial and is legit just Towelie joke inserts

This is totally worth it if you love Towelie, and it also comes with the Season Pass so not exactly a wallet stretcher. I'd recommend it, but if you're not a hardcore gamer who hates money I'd suggest avoiding it.

Besaw

honestly this shouldn't be a paid for thing, I have not once really enjoyed this, or found this useful, honestly a bit annoying. I will be just sitting there doing nothing or just listening to what a character has to say and then Towelie just shows up to interrupt any enjoyment I had listening to a character. I understand some people need something like this because they don't exactly get what's happening or what they're supposed to do but he only shows up (atleast for me) when he's the most useless or he's there to explain some sort of joke to the player, I may be fucking stupid but I think I can get a joke or two. I got this game only recently since I had money and the game with all the DLCs bundled was super cheap and I wanted to finally check this out, honestly if Towelie was by default off it would make the game more enjoyable, at first I was like "oh hey towelie" and now it's turned into just hate for whenever he shows up on my screen

SpiN
SpiN

Hey it's Towelie I- I- I uh forgot what I was gonna say oh shit be right back

But all in all DO NOT BUY THIS ALONE, this is great but get the season pass instead if you're going to buy DLC for this game

Jumpman
Jumpman

Despite the comedic things from Towelie and what not, I shouldn't have to pay for this. I gotten it for the sake of it. Wait for a sale and maybe pick up on this instead of paying $2.

this is literally the greatest dlc to ever exist
not even the doom eternal and destiny 2 dlcs come close to this

Croletan
Croletan

Its fine i guess, i wouldnt recommend buying it on its own though, on its own its not amazing, for 3 bucks i wouldnt say its worth it unless you really like the random joke from time to time but as apart of a pre-order bundle or the season pass, its fine
TLDR: Dont buy by itself, just get it from something like the season pass unless you really like towlie!

This should be included. Other than that, I like him as a hint system.
