I will be honest, only spend 0.74 euro on this dlc, and I still feel like waste of money, top tip for this one, DO NOT BUY IT

Kixur

I rate the DLC an underwelming "Meh". What you get in it is only really useful in the begining. If you want to download the DLC, definately wait until it's on sale for less then a dollar because it's not worth three dollars for what you get.

I feel the need to defend this since it is being a little unfairly maligned--yes, the bonuses you get from this gear in some ways become obsolete fairly quickly, but honestly the money boost from the Assassin gear really did help me get past a few parts that probably would have been a lot harder otherwise.

That said...like, clearly you are not going to suffer if you do not have this. And I just got it as a pre-order bonus anyway, and I am not sure if I would have bought it separately. But it is 74¢ right now, and c'mon, you will make that up in your first battle ;) ;) ;) :(

I havent used the dlc for the entire game but from what i see you only get the armor at level 2. You can't really use level 2 aromor the entire game. Waste of money.

If you're a South Park fan and have not yet played this game you are missing out big time!

It's basically a typical RPG where you run around completing quests around South Park. As in RPGs you have to battle your foes to complete certain quests. Fights are turn based and you can have melee attacks, ranged, magic or other special attacks and you even gather items that you can use during battle. Most battles are not overly difficult which helps to keep the story moving forward without getting stuck battling a particular boss for too long.

Pros:
-Fully customise your own South Park character
-Graphics are spot on to that of the show; so much so that when it comes to the cutscenes you might even forget you're actually playing a game
-LOADS of references to South Park episodes, even those long forgotten. The game is FULL of easter eggs!!!!
-Make friends with and meet up with a LOT of familiar faces from the show itself

Con
-If you're not a South Park fan or do not like that style of humor you will not enjoy the game's humor nor understand 95% of the things that are going on in the game
-Finished my first playthrough in about 12 hours, so not a very long game sadly - still worth every cent

First, please let me clarify that this review is for this pack and not the game itself (which happens to be very awesome and well made). Second, I have to say I love how this item is not crucial to play the game and you are not forced into buying it unlike so many games out there. You can still buy it and enjoy the game even more, but the game can still be played without this pack. Third, I definitly recommend everyone to buy this pack for this reasons:
A. The cloths make you look badass and who doesn't want to look badass (I think if you want funny or cute, the other pack available on steam if more up your alley).
B. These cloths are (in my opinion) better looking than most armors purchasable in the game.
C. Despite what most of the negative comments would have you believe, if you are good, these cloths can be used well into late game (I only changed to a better armor for the last three bosses).
D. These clothes can help you save lots of money on new armors and allow you to later buy what you really need (instead of what you have to cause you are short on money and too lazy to get more money, even though this game takes no grinding at all).
E. These clothes allow you to look good from the beginning instead of only being able to look good in the end . This is unlike the most, if not all, games where all of the fun of the story, adventuring and leveling is ruined cause you are only thinking of getting that one good armor at the very end. I really love this game for allowing you to enjoy all of the game and not just the end game.

With all these being said, I think that you should decide whether or not you want to buy this pack. I myself bought this pack, despite so many people telling me not to, and it proved to be really useful and allowed me to enjoy the game more, despite you so many people saying otherwise. That's why it's up to you because no one knows you better than yourself. I give this pack 10/10 because it truly delivered all it promised and more!

Not completely useless but pretty lame of them. Price isn't terrible though. Would I recommend it? No. But if you're a completionist or have to have everything like I sometimes do, go ahead.

The Burning Randomne
The Burning Randomne

Alot of people say this gear is useless, but personally i find that these things can be useful for a variety of playstyles if you're willing to mix and match. besides, isn't this all mostly for the cosmetic flair of looking like a half-decent adventurer in a silly game for a funny show who's game DOESN'T suck? let's keep that in mind when the sequel comes around people.

Slime Time

The costumes are not worth it. They become useless after the tutorial where you can upgrade and get better ones. The only thing is that they look cool. It probably would be worth it to buy something else for £2.39 like an indie game.

Everything you would come to expect from the South Park brand. The only issue's I seem to have is Ubisoft didn't map their keys properly.Don't try pressing F it won't work,You have to press w.Small issues with inconsistent colors and small patches of pixelation.Nothing that renders this game "unplayable" though.Got my friend a copy for his birthday.

SlurmsMacKenzie
SlurmsMacKenzie

Love the game itself but the DLC's are really pointless and not useful at all. I would expect a DLC to at least have something that would help in some way but the items are all low level (lvl 1 or 2) and past 30 minutes of gameplay are in no way useful. Once you beat the game you can wear the gear just for kicks if you want but what's the point?

shutupaminute

The Assassin’s outfit is great with a certain sword if you want to make bank. I mention it on my web page. Here is my Stick Of Truth web page.

There are other outfits you can use for cash that do not require the DLC, but the Assassin’s outfit is the best for making more money after fights. Is this DLC pack worth it? If you can buy it cheap, then yeah, it is pretty good. Don’t buy it if you are just blowing through the story in half a day. Buy it if you intend to spend at least 40 hours on the game. You can pick up your DLC content after the tutorial scenes. You will find them in the box in your bedroom. You may also collect up the items, take them to a shop, and sell them if you would prefer the in-game money.

I haven't felt this insulted for being asked to spend money on a DLC since the horse armor for Oblivion back in 2006. Or the other DLC for this exact game.

TheresNoGhost
TheresNoGhost

It's just low level costumes. That's it. You'll be on to better equipment than these in the first few minutes. The DLC is cheap so I would normal shrug and say fine, but this actually is paying for nothing.

DogMeat
DogMeat

I've played the game a few times now and only once since i got this DLC, i didnt even notice that it gave you items. I had to come to this page to find out what it did, so its clearly not worth a cent.

KingTwichey

Prety good DLC. Cheep and lets you min max a little. also can help with achievment hunting if you want to save time and not have to ado a whole new game. But Its still fun so why not? lol 5/5

Only good for a few levels. Doesn't last too long.

The armour looks cool. But I could get better armour in less than an hour. I got this when it was 75% off anyway.

Gamer X

Whether you're a fan of the show or not, you'll love the game. This is one film/television to game adaptation that gets it right. Its crude, childish humor will have you laughing your butt off.

Nennoh
Nennoh

Low level equipment that you'll outgrow within the first half an hour of playing the actual game. More valuable and high tier weaponry's available directly within the game, this is simply a small market bait by Ubisoft for collectors and fans that wish to acquire all the items. If you'd really like to own these, wait for a sale, there's not much value to them.

Artibius
Artibius

DLC verdict: Don't get it OR Get it on sale

Comment:
The four outfits (necromancer, ranger, rogue, holy defender) look fine and go well with the theme of the game. Each is made out of three items - hands, body, head. However, there seems little reason for them being sold separately as DLC. They are all low level items and as such only last you a REALLY short time before they get replaced by higher level items you find/buy randomly. Not really worth getting ... maybe just on a sale if you REALLY like their look.

P.S.: You can find the DLC items in the Toy Chest in your room, where the game starts, but only after you meet Cartman for the first time.

One of the few games I completed 100%. I was very pleased to add this game to my list considering my long love for the franchise. The RPG/turnbased style game play is whacky fun in a good way and the story naratives are introduced in a very compelling and entertaining way as we are familiar with considering its South Park. 9/10 Would recommend.

Those Costume or Armor means nothing, They don't Raise the stats nor Lower the stats.
But the only thing is the Buffs such as Increasing your Damage which doesn't help at all Since in the later game there will be a better Armor that can give you PP each, 200 Defense, 50% defense or better stuff.

If you like those Costume, feel free to modify it (Yes you can) but you have to scavenge it or buy it.

Or better, Sell the outfit they cost 1.5x if you're too lazy to scavenge.

Love SP and love this game. Only downside is that my PS4 controller doesn't seem to work with Stick of Truth. It works fine on Fractured But whole though. If I had to choose between the two to play for the rest of my days, I'd go with the newer one, which is Fractured But Whole, as it does seem a bit more streamlined and less clunky and cluttered as far as controls and menus go, respectively. I have yet to do any DLC's for either game yet, but I'm sure they're worth it. Hope my review convinces you one way or another if you were on the fence about buying one of them. Have fun.

but know this= you wont wear it as the stats are out leveled during youre 1st session

You won't get anything useful, just cosmetics.
There's honestly no point in buying this trash.
It's not even that good. There's really no use.
Perhaps you can use it at the very beginning.
Don't buy cosmetics for a singleplayer game.
I can't give this a positive review. It's terrible.
Everybody would like to see some story DLC.
Nobody want's to purchase those cosmetics.

These are basically starter items, that you'll get after meeting Cartman and chosing a class for your character. They look pretty cool (way better than your original gear) and they also give you a good early boost while you're learning the mechanics of the game. However, they won't be of any use to you after a few level ups. Unless you're a perfectionist, I recommend buying this DLC at a discount. Same applies to the other one.

Dante from Devil May Cry

Non-essential equipment DLC. Quickly outclassed gear, but at the very least the assassin set can net you a small kickstart on gold before you inevitably switch gear.

They're nice gimmicks, but that's it. Kinda worth it for the price, but really only as part of a bundle or if you really want them.

Honestly, i'm only considering this good for the Rouge Assassin set. They grant a ton more money, and mixed with the +money patches, it's overpowered. Because otherwise, yeah, this DLC sucks

tons of fun, and everything works great. wish i had listened to my friend and played it when it first came out. there was no weird ubisoft account thing like some were complaining about. never had a problem with a save game either. just good dirty hilarious fun. great rpg too.

Lucky

I wish there was a middle ground between giving positive and negative feedback on DLC.
So the game itself is absolutely amazing, I already wrote a review about it, it's awesome! But the DLCs are pretty lacking. If you're going to get them, definitely grab them on a super sale. Save your $3 and go buy a fancy coffee, which will give you much more enjoyment.

For this specific one, I'm only giving positive feedback because they are SLIGHTLY useful. As a jew class, I did use the Holy Defender costume for a while, and during my achievement runthrough, I found out way too late that the Rogue Assassin costume would have given me more money, but I'd recommend it, as buying all of the equipment is a pain.

This makes more sense when you realize it was for pre-orders. It's a nice pre-order that doesn't block you from actual content, and you can easily live without it. It's also nice that they give you the option to buy it afterwards, in case you missed the pre-order. But honestly, I'd say you could definitely live without it, if your life really feels empty, buy it on sale.

*Also, these costumes DO NOT count towards the achievement!

MrIronJustice

Don't believe the negativity, these items are actually viable throughout the whole game! Let me explain:

The items say level 2, so they must only be good at the very beginning right? Wrong. That is the level requirement, so you can equip them right away.

These items are balanced based on buffs rather than raw stats, therefore they are percentage based and will be significant at any level. For example, a 50% attack boost is just as good at level 2 as it is on level 20. Many of the normal items in game have raw stats, like +1 armor, which will get outclassed by +2 armor, and so on. By the way, instead of 'armor', these items give 'shield' instead, which prevents a certain number of attacks. Again, preventing 2 attacks at level 2 is just as significant as level 20.

So give these a try! They are not overpowered and each encourage their own fun playstyle. I would say they are generally a bit under-powered, but good for a challenge run for experienced players.

All of these items are only lvl 1-2. You get to level 3 by the time the tutorial phase ends.

Dont waste your money.

They do look nice but $2.99 is WAY to much. Only good for the start of the game, Still the best south park game with or without the DLC. Perhaps if you get it on sale and/or if have money to burn then fine.

The armour looks nice but it's only level 2 as soon as you hit lv 3 that won't be needed and later on you can get even cooler armour sets just buy the base game

Base game is INCREDIBLE... but

this DLC gives you 4 different "Starter" gear sets that will be obsolete within half an hour of playtime.

Buy if you want to support devs, but I literally NEVER used the gear because its for lvl 1-2 characters.

Hawkueta

The gear does make starting out easier, and it gives you some more freedom in setting up an early build for your class. Newer options do come up early in the story, but I still found it a decent starter pack. It is by no means a game changer, and you can save your money if you are worried about missing content. However, on a sale the DLC is about 75 cents and does add a tiny bit more to your game, especially if you would like to try the other classes out.
