This easier non progressive difficulty is perfect for my 6 yr old daughter, the base game frustrated her for its difficulty. This DLC definitely works for a child.
A regular, sober grown-up wouldn't stand more than a couple minutes of this senseless purposeless geometrical stravaganza; it could work if you're an adult on heavy drugs.

Yes, I have been waiting for this. I recommend this to anyone who plays this game regularly. It's very calming and looks beautiful. If you need some time to relax, this is what you need. Also the music is beautiful.

A worthwhile addition to the game, Sunrise provides you with a new endless world to explore, without the progressive increase in difficulty and the setting sun, allowing you to leisurely glide around to your heart's content (and it comes with its own Zen soundtrack).
Absolutely worth it if you like the main game and especially if you enjoy zoning out and just relaxing and flying around.

The Sunrise DLC for Race the Sun adds one new mode into the game called Zen Mode
(you may already know what it is from other games)
This mode is more relaxing. There is no increase in speed, no race against the sun (which is also completely absent here), no challenges to fulfill.
Just you, the beautiful scenery and the song of the level (which is also relaxing)

While this DLC does not offer much, I think it is to be expected at that price.

this DLC totally worth the price. its relaxing, and somehow send me to sleep after playing it hahaha. Really good for chilling or playing in a peace mood. This game is a jewel

Just leaning back, listening to the relaxing music, finally at peace with the world. There is no stress, only lovely imagery. So pretty, so calm.

Close my eyes for maybe a second

SUDDENLY, LOUD EXPLOSION

I crashed into a rock.

Worth the key I sold to buy it. My only problem with it is that when you crash, it suddenly is very loud. It would be nice if it were not so loud when you die as this is supposed to be a relaxing level. Other then that, it is amazing.

Why I bought this? This is good and useless

I like this DLC as an escape from the competitive main game, but I agree entirely that the loud explosion when you crash is a bit inappropriate and disturbing. Also, after playing it a couple of times on separate days, I've realised I would've preferred the addition of bonuses, mainly the jump, from the main game, as well as different regions, or at least more variation in the environment. You start off at a different place on the map every day, but the map doesn't change at all really. You do learn how it's bullt up so you can get the most blue triangles, but more variation and the ability to jump would have made things a bit more interesting, I think.
(Also, there are these white things that I occasionally come across that look like they're bonuses, but they don't do anything as far as I know. Which makes them all the more weird.)
In short, this is worth the price, because the price is very low, but I am secretly and perhaps idly hoping for some expansion in the future, because it's not something you'll never get sick of.

I bought this DLC to show support to the developer after giving the base game away for free not too long ago.

If you have the game itself, I recommend buying this DLC, more so when you got the game for free.

Relaxing music, beautiful scenery, easy-to-avoid obstacles, the only negative I can think of in this DLC is the fact that the crash sound will ruin the mood and possibly scare you sh*tless.

Honest to gods, this is not the music you put in this DLC when you crash.

I just bought this DLC and it's a really awesome DLC ! It's really beautiful to watch and quite relaxing with the graphics and the soundtrack... Quite cheap for what it is ! I will never regret buying this DLC ^^ I really recommend you guys this great DLC ! ;D

Bought this to show support towards the developers for giving the game out for free, i 100% reccomend this, its the same game with better visuals (moar colors) and a different sort of gameplay, relaxing and fun.

Again, thanks FlipFly!

I wish it retained the powerups from the core game to add a little variety-- especially the jump booster thing-- but it's still very nice, and *very* pretty. If you like relaxing with the first few stages of the main game, I recommend this dlc.

Beautiful world, relaxing music and gameplay.
There could be a bit more diversity with the random generated world, it can get a little bit repetitive.

It's good. I like it a lot. Playing this level is really relaxing.

I wrote a review slamming this a long time ago, sorry about that.

About This Content
Enjoy an all-new way to experience Race The Sun with this endless, zen-like game mode.

No leaderboards, no setting sun - just endless, rewarding flight.

My review: Lies! Not endless at all.

I wasn't as happy with this DLC as I expected. Sure, it's nice to just relax and listen to the music as you don't have to worry about the setting sun; but the reason I enjoy the base game so much is because of the increasingly harder rounds and the peril of racing the sun.

For the small price, it's probably worth getting. But don't expect much.

This DLC makes RTS even more relaxing!
The scenery and music are fascinating. :)

Like the relaxing music and flight, I got the music pack and the sunrise pack during the fall sale for $0.74.

I honestly don't know what I was expecting out of this.

The trailer perfectly illustrates all the content on offer in this DLC.
Undoubtedly pretty, but ultimately it felt uninspired.
Not saying that's it bad or anything, $0.54 CAD isn't a bad price, I just wanted a little more than was on offer with this.

Fun relaxing addition to Race The Sun and the soundtrack alone is well worth the money.

Just Bought the DLC. Love it! It may not have much to offer but if you are someone like me who suffers from anxiety and depression and has alot of stress, Then this is perfect as the calming music fits the soothing scenery soo well and there is no sun to race or shadows so you are only limited to crashing or boredom. In this level, you can last a really long time for instance, In my second go, i racked up over 7M points and as the speed never changes, you just need to follow the pattern and never crash. You can go pretty far in this however there are no leaderboards which i still think there should be to see who can go the furthest in this paradise.

I would rate this level a 8/10 as it could do with a bit more content and slightly less reppetition and maby multiple calm soundtracks or a choosable sountrack or multiple levels in a pack instead but the price doesnt ask for much so I guess you get what you pay for. Plus I got the base game when it was originally free and i played it as a browser game years ago before it was on steam so I have to show my support and grattitude to the dev somehow But yea get the DLC.

How to describe this DLC, called Sunrise?

No items. No boosters. No goals. No dangers (rather than crashing into a wall). And it's always the same, repeated over and over again. There is nothing to do except fly in a dream world.
I don't care... I really enjoy it, it's... relaxing. I have insomnia, and this helps me sleep.
And it works! I promise.

Extremely loud crash sound ruins the mood. Otherwise a relaxing and calming experience. 7/10.

Because smashing yourself into shit at high speed is relaxing.

SamoScopom

Bought it for a dollar in the game directly, I was curious.
I don't like that you can't turn off the hud, or at least make it smaller, the big score numbers take away from the zen vibe.
Also the crash sound and the music in the "game over menu" are really out of place.
If the devs are willing to fix these things to make it more "zen-linke" then Yes I recomend it.

Doesn't work--- the Sunrise DLC shows as Purchased on my account, but there's no way to install it, and when I try to launch Sunrise mode in-game it just directs me to the Steam storefront, where it adds a gift copy to my cart since it's already in my account. What a cluster.

AV

Worth getting on sale but hard to justify at full price. The generated levels are well done and it's exactly the chill mode that's described.

Minor issue: You have to uninstall the game then re-install it to force Steam to download this DLC.

spyro
spyro

It's very aesthetic. The soundtrack is pretty good. I just don't see myself playing it for more than the 20 minutes I did because I've seen all there is to see, which isn't much. The idea behind it is good, but it lacks inspiration and it's lazy. So, though this is something that's clearly meant to be played for hours on end, it just doesn't have the substance. There has to be something there, a reason to go on. There has to be something satisfying. There are many examples of games that do this sort of thing successfully.
