Agonize is probably some of the most fun I've had playing a game of this style in a while. It provided a formula different from other similar games while retaining the same sort of setting that we've become familiar with. As it stands right now, I would absolutely recommend this game, despite some of the cons that I feel it does possess in its current state. Why? Because it's $5. You can get a lot of enjoyment out of this for $5, despite the facts that...
There's only one map. BUT... The mansion feels absolutely disturbing and void in the best way. The mansion is also HUGE and convoluted and for a game like this I actually think that's fantastic and the scenery inside is wonderful. So once you've completed the game, there's not a lot of reason to replay it. But again, for $5 that's not an issue for me. Still, more maps would only make the game better.
EDIT: I've learned that a second map is in development and probably not too far out! :eye:
Winning this game is super RNG dependent. Maybe that's your thing, maybe it's not. I can go either way on it. In the final phase, you basically need to just not run into the demon, which... yeah. That's entirely up to where she decides to roam to, because there's no getting away from her at this point. That being said, I don't think the difficulty is balanced very well and the "easy" mode only gives you access to the 4th floor earlier rather than nerfing the demon at all. I'd like to see some sort of tweaks here to allow the fate to be more in the hands of the player once you learn how the game operates. The game has some auditory issues as well, in terms of being able to hear the demon much easier when she's above/below you than when she's a room or two adjacent from you.
STILL - I recommend this game. It needs some tweaks, it needs some improvements, and it definitely needs more maps. But it's a fairly new game that's only received one or two real updates since its release. Unfortunately the last of those was in September, but I'd be hopeful of more to come.
You could spend $5 in much worse ways than this. It's a good time with some friends.
The game imo looks horrible, even when the graphics are set to epic, some items are also glitching through walls but the main reason i am refunding is that makes me just wanna puke from playing it, i have only experienced that in phas while playing vr, how this game causes that is beyond my understanding. But i highly suggest Devour over this.
Great co-op horror game!
Its tough and took a lot of tries but it was a fun ride.
Its not complicated but each interaction with the monster is a little different to progress through the game.
If you got some buds (up to 4 players total), This is a fun Halloween game to try if you are up to the challenge.
Make more maps/monsters/levels soon!!
Conclusion imo.
its a fun co-op experience with a very generic and repetitive gimmick, that being said it was
fun to play and the spooks we're there. but being that its what i assume is a solo dev, the game has
bugs which can cause game breaking issues long as you go in with this knowledge then you should
have a good time with a pal. not recommended for solo runs

Game was fun with a couple friends. It's basically a story about the ghost/entity/Mary getting a gnarly case of the zoomies after you drug her with a random concoction of elements such as Uranium, Radium, and/or Nitrogen. She then decides that it's time to play House Flipper and starts remodeling the house by busting doors off the frame.
We did find one game-breaking bug thus far: If you place more than one serum in the distiller/machine, the first one will suddenly vanish from the mortal plane and existence all together. Which can be game-breaking if it happens to be an element you need to drug Mary with.
I've yet to finish the game, because with a team of three, it feels quite difficult to do. But for the pricing, I'm not entirely upset with the purchase.
It's a relatively short, straight-forward game where the difficulty lies in learning her pathing, and making appropriate timing calls to survive.
6/10
At first I was very skeptical and had to think of the many other games in the past that looked interesting at first impression and then turned out to be a flop. After more than 2 hours of Playtime I can say that it is a really interesting horror game, which made me scream a few times. (Sorry to my neighbors ^.^) For the price absolutely recommendable to scare yourself one or two evenings with friends. The game isn't perfect and besides the (slight?) performance problems it still offered a lot of fun and horror. I would like to see new maps in the future, maybe other monsters and an optimization of the performance.
Insanely difficult but super fun game! Terrifying encounters and events. Love the concept with the game. Only beat the game once after playing for 10 hrs. Such a great game.
The lady is spooky, the game is fun and its challenging. Puzzles are direct but will catch you off guard. A great experience all round.
it was pushing my gpu 2 the max even on low settings and i have a 3070ti something is wrong with this buggy game beware
You run at 1kmh and look like you have a dick firmly inserted up your rectum, the witch bitch thing also ear rapes you every time you glance at her.
The potential for a solid coop horror-game is there.
But in the current state of the game, it is more frustrating than anything else. You can't really hear her as soon as she is some meters away, yet you hear her clearly if she is one story above or below you. I think this was better in patch V1.11. Especially the position reset is very weird to manage. When she camps the lab it is very frustrating. Maybe it would be forthwhile at least for easy mode, if she wasn't able to break the cellar door until after the second serum and that she never positions herself in the lab when she spawns. It would also make sense lore-wise for her to avoid the lab, since she was held there for who knows how long.
Also we had a bug, where she saw my friend's ghost as I was reviving him and came straight to his position one story down and killed him again.
Sometimes she also just screams and runs to a player which she couldn't actually see or hear, as he was on a different story standing still in a closed room and she was on the stairs in the foyer.
Crouching and sneaking doesn't really feel responsive, since she follows you for a very long distance even if there are multiple corners between you and her.
I would also like to see features, where stuff turns on on its own (TVs, radios, sinks, etc.) which attracts her. This can be both a danger (attracts her while you are searching) that you have to turn off, but also a method of distraction (attracts her to that place, so that you can go around).
Another cool thing would be to have room doors close on their own which sounds like her breaking a door and you have to tab E or similar to open it again, but run the risk of her hearing you open the door. (But for that you have to be able to hear her well for balancing).
Would love to see more polish, optimization and features to play this more!
Hello Agonize Team,
I understand its a new game and its fun but I have found some issues,
>Putting 2 Serums in the Vial thing to cook them at once breaks it and deletes one of them.
>She is extremely hard even at "Easy" and a 2nd person.
>The Rope System is super broken, Like we can break it but when she runs through it sometimes It doesn't break and she gets me. (This is also has the issue with deleting when more then one person tries to place it)
>Her chasing sound is extremely loud and she will be like a mile behind me but sound like she is over my shoulder.
>She gives me a bl*wjob everytime she catches me.
Anway's overall pretty funny and spooky horror I would recommend for a few quick laughs.

Well made co op horror experience, I enjoyed it. The instructions are a bit confusing but other than that it was fun
It's super hard to finish as 2 players. But not because it's difficult, rather because every single attempt in the last stages some kind of bug happens. Either you can't ress your teammate, some key item clips through the floor when one of you die, or the enemy grabs you through 2 closed doors. Other than this it's actually pretty fun and silly but ruined by frustrating bugs.
Super buggy, had to restart 4 times to get everyone in without one being kicked from the game, the objectives are kind of boring and hard to find and the monster isnt all that scary. definately not a fun experience
After logging in 6 times in a row me and two of my finest chaps who for my amusement walked like a GTA character set off to solve the very intense puzzle-solving journey. One of my thick-headed minions didn't understands what the color peach looked like the task took much much longer than it needed to. Needless to say we didn't finish the game because damn...that bitch was fast....
