Antichamber is a great surreal puzzle game that basically makes your brain melt and is likely to trick your brain. Out of all the puzzle games this one has earned my favorite.

The best tool you can have is a Gun which manipulates or collects cubes and you can use them to advance forward but each have their own upgrades so even if you have the other gun all the abilities will be there to solve the other puzzle.

Of course this game took me 8 hours because I took long to solve but there are images that you can find and they give you a nice life lesson which are unmissable as long as you explore every nook and cranny part of the rooms.

A simple yet challenging puzzle game that has a progression learning curve to ensure you would never get bored and I would advise to play it before you look up anything related to this game, its an excellent experience playing this game.

Your brain needs to be a certain amount of wrinkled to like this game. I am too smooth brain to find enjoyment out of this.

Back then, when this game released I pirated it... and it blew my mind and changed my perception of world an how I can approach it.

I recommend it to many of my friends and to YOU, reader, so you can learn a little bit more about the way you can act and think towards different challenges

Got lost and bored. The moment the game presented an actual difficult challenge I realized I'd just been going through the motions trying to get to the end. It's not bad, but it definitely thinks highly of itself since they thought the camera tricks alone were enough of a selling point that they didn't bother making the puzzles fun.

Neat for a moment but quickly gets old. Get it on sale if you wanna try it.

This game is great. Definitely one of my favorites now. With what I know now, I wonder how fast I can get through this!?

An extremely rewarding first-person puzzle game.

Its simplistic art-style isn't just for show, it's used to help create certain illusions and other perceptive-bending level designs for both its puzzles and exploration. It's pretty gimmicky, and the appeal of it doesn't last very long as it just becomes a normal thing you use to get around.
The game's also got some bizarre ambiance sounds. Despite the entire game taking place in corridors, there are a wide variety of sounds that you don't really expect to hear here, like jungle sounds and crazy weather. It's somehow immersive.

The entire game is nothing but puzzles and some platforming, with the end-goal being to reach the exit door. The only other true goals in the game are finding the gun and gun upgrades, which almost always lead to the sudden realization of being able to go back and finally solving the puzzles you previously left alone.
It's an incredibly non-linear game when it comes to its exploration and puzzle-solving, so whatever solution you find for a puzzle that seems outrageous may actually be intended, whether it's the only solution for it or not.
The best part about the game is how often it retroactively teaches you its mechanics and even tricks you can do to solve puzzles you thought you couldn't solve before without actually telling you to.

Strongly recommended puzzle game, highly advised to avoid any form of help.

I can not believe I have not reviewed this game! Back in the day where it was barely CS, Portal and this, I did not write many reviews... and really, this game does not need more reviews: it is a classic. If you have not done it yet, you should! What an amazing, conceptual, smart, slick, clean, deep design! If you like Portal (for the puzzles) and more indie/deep games where the story is less essential than the message, the reflection, this game should please you! Starts like a typical GameJam indie dev conceptual thingy, but then you realize quickly there is more to it, and it takes grey matter to actually finish the game! A classic that messes with your mind and your perspective, and should be analyzed in university for sure! Academical work here. Buy on sale maybe?

At first, everything in this game leaves you confused. But by the end of the game, everything will make sense.
A true spiritual journey indeed.

Delightful puzzles and hidden secrets. Antichamber twists your brain in the most wonderful ways, from the liminal spaces that make little sense, to the encouraging messages along the way. Antichamber is a short game if you let it be, but there's so many paths to explore if you want. The game doesn't overstay its welcome and is a fun memory to revisit years down the line, like I have, just to remember that twisty logic. It's worth a playthrough or two

A minimalist puzzler with some nice elements of exploration and self-discovery. This game gives you just enough information to get your bearings, but otherwise doesn't hold your hand. There is no plot to speak of, and the music/SFX are sparse and ambient, giving the whole game a dreamlike quality. While not frustratingly difficult, there are still some moments that can be quite brain-bending, but nothing that can't be overcome. My only minor complaint is that the red gun kind of ruins the puzzle aspect of the game; it's just way too powerful and doesn't add any particularly interesting mechanics to the game, but at least it's only meant for the endgame.

All in all, I enjoyed this game a lot.

An incredibly clever game that I had for a long time, but took quite a while to actually sit down and play. There isn't really a plot, you're just solving puzzles/overcoming obstacles as you try to make your way to the exit and finish the game. I found myself playing through nearly all the game in no time, though 100% completion of it isn't required in order to finish it and reach the actual ending.

The entire game world is very non-euclidean and surreal in style, and requires a lot of abstract, outside-the-box thinking. Personally I got the hang of it quickly. The spectacle is all in the gameplay- you have to be more clever than the game and try to learn how to play by its weird rules. Navigation is never in a straight line, and pathways open in close in the most unexpected places. Aside from the puzzle of navigation itself, most of the puzzles focus on using a gun to manipulate cubes in various ways, and although it's simple the mechanics of it feel satisfying and rewarding to test out. There are a lot of moments where it almost feels like you broke the game, but no, it's just working as intended.

It's also quite soothing. The sound designs of the game and its calm, background ambient noise give it quite a dreamlike feel. The game constantly gives you little pieces of advice that almost always are both good advice for life, and a hint to help you in your current puzzle, and you can freely leave a puzzle and go visit a different one at any time.

Not too long of a play, not too challenging but still highly engaging, with a simple and well done aesthetic. 10/10.

A nice little first person perspective puzzle game. Slightly on the easy side on puzzle difficulty but fun nonetheless. Apart from the puzzles, there's some secrets to find, and there's a bunch of signs (meme?) to collect, so there's something for the completionist to dig in.

Excellent puzzle game. I'm glad I jumped into it completely blindfolded, because understanding how the game works slowly, step by step, is really what made me enjoy this so much. The little "ooooooooo so THAT'S how that works" is really satisfying. Also, not a super long game, maybe 10+ hours for 100%, but just enough for me.

Short and sweet if you know what you're doing, long, arduous, and complex if you don't. Plenty of "Aha!" moments for those of you that love them. Great if you have a day to while away, that's for sure!

I've had this game for five years and never finished it because I have no idea what I'm doing and I refuse to look up a guide. 10/10 would get stuck over and over forever and still be content

Edit, literally like a day later: I beat it!! Keep at it, folks - keep trying and you'll do it eventually :D

The best puzzle game since Portal, and probably the best since then, too. The Witness comes close for me, but this is that with more varied puzzles and not made by a loser. Inventive with 3D space in ways I haven’t seen since.

Puzzle is the first tag for the product, but I gave up before finding any actual puzzles. It was just a series of arbitrary choices (i.e. left or right) in a non-euclidian space before I hit a dead end that gave me no other choice other than to exit out of the maze by pressing escape. I took it as sign to press escape one more time, and exit out of the game. Bonus points for making me look up instructions for how to remap my keybindings with a config file.

Prelody

For a game released on UE3, it holds quite up well as an impressive feat to level design, standing out for its intriguing non-euclidean quirks and colorful simplicity. I ended up taking a lot of breaks during my playtime when moments got dull, but the itch of wanting to progress remained with a fresher state of mind. I definitely recommend Antichamber if you are looking for refreshing gameplay.

Crisis
Crisis

From the sound design to the visual aesthetic, I think this game is one of those that don't really age. Sure, once you know the solutions to the puzzles you can say the game is pointless, but I'd argue there's a vibe here that transcends just this being a simple puzzle game.

Maybe it's a case of depth by omission, but to me when I've replayed this game recently for a video, I was caught off guard by how much of a trip it was, even if I knew what I was doing and where I was going. The little messages that you get along the way and the overall attention to detail really shines through on repeat playthroughs.

It's certainly a great game to recommend if you enjoy first person puzzle games, but beyond that it's just a pretty unique experience I've seen many times attempted but never really repeated.

Certified Vermin

A puzzle game that puts you through the loop of throwing you into incoherent chaos for you to slowly learn the rules of the chaos, growing stronger and more competent for it, before being engulfed in a new chaos.

This is a game I really respect, sadly I have not finished it yet. You really feel like an outsider trying to find your way in an alien world. And you start restricted, lost and unsure. But as you progress you learn the identical blank white walls and where they lead. You see empty areas you have been and find them familiar, stumbling back through memories of your thought process piecing it all together. Only now in retrospect and with a greater understanding.

A lot of this sounds like a metaphor for life and I think it was intended as such. The main landmark you get are these black illustrated signs, and on each of them you get some kitsch quote. None of them are that meaningful and on their own are vapid. But the charm of them is that they are familiar platitudes in an familiar world. Their vapidity is comforting when everything else is alien. They have meaning because of the context. It starts to feel like the voice of a distant friend.

But obviously it's not a friend, it's the developer. This is the world they created, and these are the words they wrote. They created this uncomfortable world, and they also comfort you through it. I don't even count this as meta as you can find some of the development history of this game in the game. The comforting words and the uncomfortable world are not different entities, they are one and the same.

And that's how you feel playing, in the limbo between familiar and unfamiliar, trust and fear, comfort and discomfort. This is the meaningless limbo the developer has created for you to explore. It's a nebula, a catalyst, or maybe an opportunity. The developer wants to show you something, but we are all on our own journeys. This is not a painting or a song with a static message. This is a video game where how you interact with it changes the experience you take. From that, the message changes as well. You are putting the last brushstrokes on an M.C. Escher painting, what message or meaning it holds is up to you.

This is the art of video games, a painting only completed by each viewer. Each viewer and artist, each save file an artwork. And every game a gallery curated by the developer.

It was fun and interesting, but not for $20.
I would pay $5 at most.

There's not even any music. The style is cool but way too simple. In 5 minutes you've already seen everything there is to see.

The game is a bit short but overall good. The design is simple but feels good. Also has some good puzzles and lots of secrets.

The story is told with lots of visuals and some text on the wall.

The game is fair and easy to complete.

worth the price tag

To date I would describe it as one of my most memorable puzzle/shooter games I've ever played and I love getting others to play it and how they go about solving a fairly free form world cause what they do and notice vs what I did I find fascinating. This game messes with your expectations. And really makes you think outside of the box. And its a master of getting its hooks in as it peaks your curiosity.

While I loved the Portal series and I'm no stranger to puzzle games, I found this to be rather mediocre after initially being quite excited to give it a try. I just found too many faults with the game that hampered my enjoyment of it and I ended up uninstalling 2/3 through because I realized I was playing for the sake of completion rather than actually having fun. The biggest fault that I have with the game is it wastes the players' time. While it seems open world, it's actually linear. You MUST get the blue gun, then the green gun, then the yellow gun, then the red gun. There's nothing that alludes to this so unfortunately you waste a good chunk of time figuring this out because there are multi-step puzzles that seem possible to solve only to figure out they aren't without the right color gun halfway through. Something that further adds to this element of wasted time is this game is equal parts memorization game as it is a puzzle game. It's kinda like playing hop-scotch blindfolded and when you get it wrong you have to start over and remember there was a pit there or you used too many blocks and don't have enough leftover to complete the last part of the puzzle to open the door at the end to open up another part of the map. Lastly, I ran into a few bugs that forced me to start over in the map room. After around 7hrs, I was just done. I've got a TON of games in my backlog. I don't have to waste my time playing games that don't value it. If you read some of the other negative comments, they seem to echo what I'm saying.

This is still one of my favorite games of all time. Having to solve surreal 3D puzzles is what makes this game unique, and the little messages before each puzzle are always a bit of brain candy and are relative to each puzzle as well. The atmosphere of the game is simple and sterile, and the progression curve was able to help me keep going. I don't recall if I had to look up a guide at all, and the map can be a little hard to follow, but it wasn't too too bad.

I think that this is a good short puzzle game, it has amazing puzzles and when you complete a puzzle, you get a good moral. I also like the small dev rooms that show you the progress that led to this game. I do recommend this game for puzzle solvers as myself, and those who are intrested in non-euclidian gameplay.

Excellent example of the potential of non-Euclidean geometries. While the visual appearance of the world remains generally very minimalist, its structural characteristics is what entices us to admire it.

Also the puzzles are well done. I enjoyed the different mechanics implied by the cubes, and the numerous and diversified applications within the game. My main gripe would likely be the progression difficulty within the first 2 hours (before you get better equipment), as the game lets you explore a lot of places simultaneously and as such, it might be quite difficult to know where you are "supposed" to go next. In other words, you might be walking around aimlessly for quite a while not realising that one of the blocked corridors you deemed inaccessible for the moment is in fact possible to cross with a mechanic you didn't know you had. I had the most fun closer to the end when you get access to incredibly powerful tools with tons of potentials, which somehow don't even make the game trivial.

As a final note, I found one gamebreaking bug, where the game would let me spawn as much cubes as like (a feature that's intended) to a point where the game would quickly crash.

That being said, it's definitely worth it if only for its unique characteristics.
8/10

Great puzzles, great mechanics & mechanics introduction, great pace, messes with your brain. You're encouraged to try new things, even if they might not work. There is no (written) tutorial, you just have to figure it out. Some people might say that no tutorial is bad for a puzzle game, but I disagree (lots of reading drains many puzzle games).

This game introduces small mechanics, or enhancements to mechanics throughout the game. Once you master one, you'll likely encounter a puzzle requiring the next one. If you are stuck on one puzzle, the world lets you roam freely from where you have unlocked, and teleport back to where you have been from a hub.

There are no loading screens, ever. And there are no menus, at all. Not even an ESC menu! This along with the ambient sound makes it very immersive. (I almost always play my own music, but I didn't for this game because of how immersive it was)

Overall this game is 'great' and a 10/10 for anyone who is into puzzles, although I would say it will probably be hard.
