Great game I forgot how good AC used to be, I was a major fan of AC1, 2, and Brotherhood when they first came out but never finished Ezio's story which always bothered me. I have to say this game really brought back nostalgia as it plays much like it's predecessors AC2 and Brotherhood. If you're like me and haven't played an AC game in a while I highly recommend getting back into it with this one.

A fitting end to the Ezio trilogy of games within the Assassin's Creed franchise. Assassin's Creed Revelations is a short yet sweet game, showcasing Ezio, much more mature (old if you will) leaving Italy, following the steps of Altair Ibn-LaʼAhad. The game takes place primarily in the city of Constantinople. The player will take control of Ezio in order to discover and find the five keys needed to unlock a vault created by Altair Ibn-LaʼAhad.

This felt like a fitting end to Ezio's journey as a master assassin. Though the game is shorter than the first two in the trilogy it is still a fun experience that caused me to roam around it's new terrain quite a bit. The game is more primarily focused on the story. The ending alone, in my opinion, makes it worth playing the game.

Caveat emptor, buyer beware!

Let it be known that Ubisoft was going to REMOVE access to GAMES (not just DLC) that people had already paid for:

https://i.imgur.com/DOWz9ed.png

At one point, these games were also de-listed from the store, and no longer available for purchase. This was done after they went on sale during the Steam summer sale.

Now Ubisoft has backtracked (probably due to negative PR) and will only be "decommissioning online services" for these old titles. This effectively means no more multiplayer, and no DLC (unless you've already activated it and tied it to your Uplay account).

https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/help/gameplay/article/decommissioning-of-…

Even though the online services have been shut down, they *still* want you to sign up for a "Ubisoft Connect" account, and log in to Ubisoft's servers. I tried launching the game with "-playoffline", which worked for Brotherhood, but unfortunately it didn't help.

Due to Ubisoft and their terrible practices, I cannot recommend this game or any other Ubisoft title, nor will I purchase future Ubisoft products.

Ubisoft, if you want to shut down online services for old games, fine, but remove your crappy DRM as well. I'm not going to make a new account to play a game I purchased 10 years ago, especially when I already made a Uplay (more like "U-Don't-Play" am I right?) account back then. Between this fiasco, and that Ubisoft dev trying to criticize Elden Ring (which is better than anything Ubisoft ever put out) I am done with Ubisoft.

Requiescat in pace.

This should serve as a reminder to us. We don't actually own these games, we are merely granted a "license" to use them under certain terms and conditions. By installing and playing these games we automatically accept their privacy policies, terms, and EULAs.

PS: What I said about proprietary games and not really owning them also applies to your operating system if you use Windows or Mac. I highly recommend using Linux because it's free and open source, doesn't include spyware, adware, or make you agree to unethical terms.

The End of Ezio's journey is a masterful tale

Assassin's Creed Revelations is a bridge between our three protagonists. Ezio and Altaïr's chapters are brought to a close, simultaneously, Desmond's story is pushed into it's conclusive chapter. The finale of the Ezio trilogy substitutes beautiful Renaisance Italy in favor of the heart of the Ottoman Empire, Constantinople. Similarities between this game and its predecessors are felt immediately, but its narrative helps elevate it to a high position within the franchise.

Positives:
+ Wonderful story to close out Ezio's chapter, that of Altaïr, and push Desmond's into its final phase. Revelations expands the story of our original protagonist, lets Ezio have his peace and Desmond to finally understand his purpose. Ubisoft managed to present this ambitious story within one game and did so in a pretty successful way.
+ Constantinople is another fascinating location presented in an AC game. The city feels alive and busy, full of interesting and dangerous people. While Rome remains my all-time favorite setting in the franchise, I cannot deny the beauty and detail of this one.
+ Yet another fantastic soundtrack composed by Jesper Kyd.
+ The best memory corridors out of the Ezio Trilogy. While there are less of them here, compared to the previous two games, they feature some great dialogue.
+ "Desmond's Journey" is a unique side mission within the franchise. You do first-person platforming as Desmond in the core of the Animus, learning more about his backstory.

Negatives:
- Gameplay is almost identical to Brotherhood. There are few new additions such as a hookblade, bomb crafting, strategy-based Den defense missions (although if you keep your notoriety low, you will only have to play through such a mission once, during the story tutorial), ziplines, etc. Assassin Recruits, rebuilding of the city's economy and armor upgrading is carried over from the previous game. This is fine, but if you mostly care about gameplay changes and not story, you won't be too impressed.
- Some stutters and audio desync will be experienced, if you play the game with over 60FPS. I recommend locking it at that through your Graphics Card control panel.

Additional info:
Once you boot up the game on Windows 10 (most probably on Windows 11 as well) you will notice screen flickering and shaky camera. This might scare some, but there is a very easy way to resolve it. All you need to do is navigate to the installation folder of your game and find a file called "systemdetection.dll". Delete this file or rename it to something else and your game will be back to normal. The default installation path for Steam would be "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Assassin's Creed Revelations". If you installed somewhere else, then you will know where. In case some people are worried, this is an official workaround provided on the Ubisoft website here.

Overall:
Assassin's Creed Revelations is a satisfying ending to the franchise's best protagonist. An ambitious narrative written in a solid way, presented in the beautiful Constantinople, is a fitting send off. While the lack of major gameplay innovations and presence of minor bugs can be an obstacle, I believe the story alone makes this game worthwhile. I would give it a solid 8/10 and recommend every true fan of the series to play it.

One of the greatest moments in the whole franchise

Hello this was my very first steam game and PC game that I bought it will always be in my heart everything about this game is amazing from graphics to story to combat. The only problem of this is the tower defense game but everything else is amazing after this I played the previous AC games and it was a really great game after you played it was an Perfect way to say goodbye to Altaír and Ezio.

While I personally think AC2 and Brotherhood were slightly better, I still love this game. It maintains some of the classic mechanics of previous titles while still adding enough content to feel different. Messing around with the bomb crafting is always fun. This game also features one of my favorite cities in Assassin's Creed. Constantinople is full of culture and cool historical landmarks. Ezio may be older, but his skill as a master assassin hasn't faded at all.

AC2 Ezio Old-itore Edition

Pretty good more or less what you'd expect. Bit of an over emphasis on bomb construction and lootables. (not necessary but it's rampant) There's a primary city to progress through playing as Ezio and there's also great granddaddy Altair's later days as flashbacks building both backstory and setting up future plot points.

Nothing too significant gameplay wise changed or improved, however the graphics finally upgrade exponentially from previous titles in the series.

You get to legally beat up minstrels!

This Assassins creed is one my favourite Series of all time but ubisoft had to fuck it up.
You get constant crashes.
You have to fix a glitch that all the world and the characters stutter and glitch.
Framerate is terrible even tho i have a decent pc that can run cyberpunk better than that.
I had to struggle to find fixes of my problem but eventually i fixed all of my problems, but such a pain to do all this just to play like come on man .

Where do I even start...Ezio Auditore da Firenze is one of the most enjoyable characters I've ever played in any video game/video game franchise. His character development through AC2, ACB and ACR is incredible and the voice acting for Ezio is perfect. Although all 3 of these games were released over a decade ago, they still hold out and even succeed many of the games being released in today's era.

(Spoilers/Story Synopsis) Assassins Creed Revelations is overall a very enjoyable game. The story leading on from ACB is great (albeit pretty slow paced at the start), as we are able to play through more of Ezio's memories and even relive Altair's past through the five memory seals. The ending to ACR is much more satisfying compared to AC2&ACB as the Ezio and Altair story actually comes to a definitive end. In a nut shell, after finding all of the Masyaf keys, Ezio finds Altair's remains and the last of the memory seals in the secret library underneath the Masyaf Fortress. Ezio, after reliving the last of Altair's memories learns that Altair had his Assassins spread all around the world and comes to the understanding that he is but a carrier for a message intended not for himself, but for his future descendant Desmond who he believes may somehow be listening/watching him in the future. Ezio also finds Altair's apple of eden but refuses to take it, instead dropping his gauntlets and sword signifying his retirement which was a very sad moment. Desmond finally triggers the Nexus link allowing him to meet with Jupiter, a being part of "TOWCB" who reveals to Desmond that they had built giant underground temples to save the Isus and Humanity from the Solar Flare (which we see in the crazy cinematic). Desmond's then told to visit the grand temple in New York as a means to save humanity from the upcoming calamity (the same solar flare) that the Isus and Humans underwent before. This leads to Desmond waking up from his coma and explaining the situation to his friends and father.

Now that the story synopsis is over here are some pros I liked about ACR:
- The amazing yet somewhat confusing at times story, and the satisfying end to the entire storyline.
- Meeting Subject 16 (Clay), playing through the first person puzzles - learning about Desmond's past and listening in on everything being said around him whilst surviving by living inside the animus.
- The gameplay is good - borderline great, as there are a few new features added on to the already sound AC gameplay such as the hookblade, various bombs and the Assassin Dens/missions.
- The music was a key takeaway from this game. I thought the soundtrack was a big step up in comparison to the two previous AC titles, especially during the absolutely gorgeous CGI cinematics as well as when roaming around the beautiful cities of Constantinople, Turkey. I noticed when roaming that a couple of the soundtracks sounded very similiar to that of the Witcher 3's, which makes me wonder if CDProjekt Red drew inspiration from ACR's music as both have amazing - similiar soundtracks.

Cons:
- The control change and inability to swap major keybinds. You become so used to AC2&ACB's controls and then are forced to rewire your muscle memory to ACR's which is a pain.
- Some big problems I have with ACR and the AC franchise as a whole are the gameplay missions repetitveness and lack of inovation, as well as the story being confusing to understand at times. As many people know Ubisoft over time has become extremely lazy with their game production, not only in AC but also other franchises such as Farcry, WatchDogs, Division etc, and it shows in ACR. The main problem is how the game has such an amazing story that is being hindered by such a dissapointing and at times boring gameplay loop that consists of the same recycled - follow this person for 10 minutes quest or find a certain item for this person quest. Another problem that may be my fault for simply not paying enough attention or simply not understanding, is the at times confusing story. After every game I find myself on the AC Wiki or Reddit page reading "Ending Explained" threads because I only half understand what is going on, usually as a result of questions left by previous games being answered with even more questions from the current one. I think that the story being so extremely in-depth and consisting of so many layers to be the best thing about ACR along with AC2/ACB, but at times I feel it to be a tad overwhelming with little explanation to what is going on.

In conclusion ACR is a great game. It finishes the Ezio/Altair story in a great way, whilst setting up the next game/s nicely as we have a clear indication of what's to come in the next AC game. The music is top tier, the gameplay loop is similiar to previous AC games but is saved by some really enjoyable story missions such as the underground canal chase and the blossoming relationship between Sofia and Yusuf. Seeing Ezio grow from a rash teenager, learning the ways of an Assassin to help forming and becoming the leader of the Assassin Brotherhood, all the way to an experienced mentor taking Assassin recruits under his wing is really special and enjoyable to see. Overall great game, likely the best trilogy and set of characters in the AC series (we shall see) - 8/10

The game is good, not as good as the other Ezio stories , but still good. Story is kind of all over the place but it gives more insight about the original game and also finishes Ezio's story. Gameplay is still the same as 2 and Brotherhood, but has little additions to add quality of life.

Assassin's Creed Revelations is a mixed bag.

This game brings an end to the story of both Altair and Ezio, the two assassins seen in the franchise up until this point. It also acts as a turning point for the present day storyline featuring Desmond, and sets things up for the next game (which would be the last in the Desmond saga).

From a story standpoint, this game is pretty strong. Ezio's final outing is on a smaller scale than his two previous, but I think this is for the best. He's an older assassin now, and he isn't hunting for revenge. He simply wants answers. This leads to a pretty tame story as Ezio obtains the keys he needs one by one. There is another plot that runs alongside this that is enjoyable enough and by the end of the game the two plotlines become one. The story in this game is also helped by having the best side characters in the franchise to this point.

The story being strong leads to a great send off for Ezio, who also has a very fitting ending at the climax of the game. They also managed to make me feel satisfied with Altair despite my not caring for him in the first game.

Unfortunately, as always, the Present Day storyline has to ruin things a bit, but thankfully it is sparsely in this game, only showing up a few brief times until the ending.

The gameplay is what you'd expect from another Ezio AC game. Parkour is smooth (and improved once again with the excellent addition of the hookblade, and other things like ziplines) and combat is easy yet fun. Constantinople may be one of the best cities in the series, it looks great and is a lot of fun to traverse.

There are some things that don't quite fit in, namely the tower defence mechanics, however the story only forces you to do this once and even with my engaging in most of the side activities I still partook in it less than five times.

On the topic of side activities, they are really weird in this game and I don't think much time went into making them. There are barely any actual sidequests, and when it comes to other side activities the game never explains them well.

For example, there is what you need to do in order to get a special armour set. In both ACII and AC:B the concept of the special armour was introduced through the story, and everything you must do in order to obtain it is marked clearly on your map. In this game though, you get the special armour by collecting 10 items that appear like any other miscellaneous collectable, and I saw nothing whatsoever that pointed this out while playing. There are also other collectables that seem to do absolutely nothing as far as I could see.

This is upsetting as it means there is no real drive to take part in side activities, and that isn't great considering this game is the one that could use them the most- having a story at a much shorter runtime than the past two games in the series.

I can't stop talking about the gameplay without mentioning 'Desmonds Journey'. This is an absolutely laughable side story in the game. For one thing, you need to collect a boring collectable to even unlock it- and then once you do, it is a horrible experience. Why is it first person? Why is it nothing to do with parkour, instead focusing on puzzles? Why does it open a separate window on my computer? On top of that, the story conveyed through these sections are pointless and boring. I can't comprehend at all what led to this being included in the game... and on top of that, they then made a whole DLC in the same style? I'll review that DLC separately though.

Even though AC:R has a compelling story and is fun to play, there's just something missing. 'Desmonds Journey' and the miscommunication in what things mean definitely drag it down, and aside from this I also feel like it lacks a certain charm that II and Brotherhood had. I can only give it a 7/10 at most.

I think the juciest game in the AC 2 serie because you are in İstanbul and can climb most of the historical buildings inside and out. The clothes and the voice acting is very lovely. Also defending and invading outposts is introduced in this game in the serie and i think it is fine for its time. You shouldn't pass this game if you played until thia game.

So, first let me say that I originally played this on the 360 back when it was released. So 10+years ago. That being said, I was only able to get to the fourth memory in sequence 1 before I started experiencing game breaking mechanics.. I wasn't able to control anything. I'd try to go left, I'd go right instead. Try to go a different way, and would be completely stuck going in the same direction as before. Even ended up in the sky or under the world.

I did see that there was a way to fix it, but it would need to be done before each attempt to play the game, and that takes away from the actual experience of playing. Especially since I've been trying to stream the whole AC series from game 1, to present day release.

It's not worth it here on steam. If you still have a PS3, 360, or the original release for PC, that would be the only way playing Revelations is worth anything. Sad day for me I guess

I played this many years ago when it was released. It wasn't loved by critics, but I actually really enjoyed the gameplay. The introduction of bombs and faster climbing made the game feel faster paced and gave many options for how to get past different challenges.
The tower defence stuff definitely sucks, you can probably get by without doing it, but the rest of the game is really fun.

This game might the the worst tutorial section/opening in gaming history. The controls are utter trash, the dialogue is trash, the people running UBiSoft are the some of the wort kind of trash. "Desmond Miles. Your life has changed so much in so little time. Two months ago, you were pouring shots for bankers and celebrities... but now look at you. You're an Assassin. One of us. One of the good guys, isn't that nice? Men and women dedicated to preserving human life and liberty. Not like those Templars... cold and calculating autocrats, drunk on power, obsessed with order, all that... We're doing our best to stop them. Yeah, doing our best. But you remember all this, right? You remember the Animus, the machine we use to unravel genetic memories and relive the lives of our ancestors? First you were Altaïr, a stoic twelfth-century Assassin from the Holy Land. Then you were Ezio Auditore, a wealthy Italian with charisma and a talent for revenge. So, what do you three have in common? That's right. The Apple of Eden. That strange artefact left behind by... Those People. The Ones Who Came Before. You know the Apple's power. You felt it for yourself. Oh, it's been fun, hasn't it, Desmond? But that's about to change. Your mind is fragmenting, falling to pieces... And if you don't find a way to wake up, you may lose yourself. Forever." – Subject Sixteen, Clay Kaczmarek

After the unfortunate events of AC: Brotherhood with the Piece of Eden, Desmond falls in a coma. In The Grey, the digital world. Naturally, he's put back into the Animus where his mind is preserved in a passive, calmed state, resting. The problem is, to wake up safely, he must achieve what Subject Sixteen refers to as: Synch Nexus. When all memories of his ancestors have been fully synchronised. When Synch Nexus is achieved, the Animus can separate Desmond from Ezio and Altaïr and send him home. Back to his own body.

The game has Ezio travel to Masyaf, the original Assassin fortress from AC1, in search of Altaïr's library. After discovering the only way to open the library is by finding the 5 Masyaf Keys of Altaïr, First Civilisation "Memory Seals" containing memories, messages across time able to be recorded and played back, if you will. His travels then take him to Turkey, Istanbul, also known as Constantinople at the time. The Templar presence there is troubling, and with the help of new Assassin friend Yusuf Tazim and the Turkish Brotherhood, Ezio needs to rid Constantinople of the Templars and retrieve the Masyaf Keys to access the library. Each Key, or Memory Seal, allows Ezio to play back certain memories recorded by Altair, and through Ezio, Desmond can also see those memories while in the Animus, which plays into the whole Synch Nexus concept. This way, Desmond is able to relive any leftover memories as needed. This also gives us more insight into Altaïr's life, which is very cool.

AC: Revelations offers some cool dynamic gameplay. The combat remains largely the same, as does parkour and movement, but Ezio is granted a new gift alongside his regular Hidden Blade. The Hook Blade, which acts as an extension of one's arm, enabling Ezio to take great leaps and catch ledges better than ever. The Turkish Assassins teach Ezio bomb crafting recipes. Bombs effects include Caltrop Bombs, Datura Bombs, Cherry Bombs, Smoke Decoy Bombs, Gold Bombs, Splinter Bombs, Thunder Bombs, Blood Bombs, Smoke Screen Bombs, Stink Bombs. Some nicknames are more literal than others. They are meant to either distract, repulse, scare, incapacitate or outright kill. Each bomb type can be installed in various different casings such as Impact Shell, Fuse Shell, Trip Wire and Sticky Pouch, as well as different gunpowder types with varying areas of effect. Those are Indian, Arabic and British.

Ezio also meets the love of his life in this game. Sofia Sartor, a smart, beautiful and passionate Venetian woman working in Constantinople. Their relationship becomes one full of adventure and, of course, danger. As usual, without spoiling too much, when all is settled and the Templar threat in Constantinople is dealt with and all Masyaf Keys are recovered, Ezio brings Sofia with him to Masyaf, telling her of his life, his Brotherhood, responsibilities and his work... which she understands and wants to welcome into her life, as long as she can be with her love, Ezio. Opening the library door after slotting in all the Keys and relieving the last of Altaïr's memories, Ezio finds that the "library was no library at all... but a vault meant to seal away something... Something dangerous, powerful and important. Something familiar. Ezio finds the skeleton of his dead Assassin brother, Altaïr, and one last key in his hand. The memory within the key points to a secret door within the vault which contains ANOTHER Apple of Eden. At that point, Ezio understands that his work will never end... So, he makes a decision. Before dropping all his equipment there and then and officially retiring as an Assassin, accepting that he has known enough wisdom for one life, and gets ready to begin a new life with his love, Sofia Sartor, Ezio reaches out to Desmond through time. He knows that Desmond, sometime into the future would be watching him, somehow, through inexplicable means (the Animus) ... as told by the First Civilisation through their prophesies / projections under the Vatican Vault back in AC2... Somewhere, sometime, a certain individual named Desmond would be watching him, so Ezio, meant to act as a messenger for future generations of Assassins in our present day, simple speaks out loud.

"Desmond? I heard your name once before, Desmond, a long time ago. And now it lingers in my mind like an image from an old dream. I do not know where you are, or by what means you can hear me. But I know you are listening. I have lived my life as best I could, not knowing its purpose, but drawn forward like a moth to a distant moon. And here, at last, I discover a strange truth. That I am only a conduit for a message that eludes my understanding. Who are we, who have been so blessed to share our stories like this? To speak across centuries? Maybe you will answer all the questions I have asked. Maybe you will be the one to make all this suffering worth something in the end. Now... listen..."

This is seriously one of the coolest video game endings...
Altaïr, Ezio and Desmond, all in the "same room", technically speaking. Great payoff.

Upon completing these memories, Desmond achieved a Synch Nexus, and was pulled into the Nexus. Subject Sixteen also saves all of Desmond's memories in The Grey. Once there, Jupiter, a member of the First Civilisation, spoke with him about the Grand Temple, and the First Disaster and after this conversation, Desmond awoke from his coma as a result of completing the Synch Nexus.

And so, the First Civilisation (in this case, Jupiter, Minerva and Juno) appears to deliver a message, explaining what had happened to their people when The Great Catastrophe / Toba Disaster happened, and what methods of salvation they tried in order to prevent it but ultimately failed... A coronal mass ejection. How the war between humans and Isu (First Civ) ended. How nearly both species became extinct. In particular, the Isu Jupiter mentions: "The earth shook for days. The fires burned for weeks. And when the ash had settled, less than ten thousand of your kind still lived... and far fewer of ours. But we carried on, together. To rebuild. To renew."

In order to recover from the event, the remaining members of the Isu and their human creations brought their war to an end and began to work together to restore life to the planet. Because their numbers were too few, the First Civilisation failed to survive long as an independent species. Humans, on the other hand, who had been built by the Isu "to survive", successfully managed to reconstruct their society and flourished. Over time, the reshaping of the Earth's landscape and geography would eliminate nearly all physical evidence of the Isu.

Desmond knew where to go. The Grand Temple in Turin, New York. There, the last hope for survival against the new fast approaching catastrophe awaits.

I like this game. I was a little annoyed to see that I had to rebuild a city again, so I didn't really bother this time. I did like the story, especially the ending. I think this game offers a great ending to Ezio's story and it was great to see what happened to Altaïr. I did miss Leonardo, I think he was a great character and a great friend to Ezio.

This game is quite a bit short than Brotherhood, but what I liked about it is that you can explore the entire map of Constantinople without any sequence restrictions except going through the docks which you need to progress the story on.

Overall: The gameplay is still the same with new ways to maneuver throughout the city, new ways of combat mechanics, assassin recruit missions and templar den captures. It is not that quite bad but the game is passable which ends the Auditore saga. Recommended if you are still following through the AC series since the first game.

The game still operates with the exception of a glitch in video playback. Uninstall and reinstall was unable to repair issue. Please advise.

The game is bugged. There is no controller support and the screen flashes constantly. Didn't have this problem with other AC games.

Seeing Ezio's saga come to an end fills me with a sense of longing, having been with him through three entire story arcs covering major portions of his life. Having 100 percented the game over close to 50 hours of gameplay, I can say for sure that this has been a journey like no other. The addition of the modern-day story arc of Clay, the ubiquitous "Subject 16" in the DLC really fleshed out his character from a stereotypical "borderline-insane, eccentric mentor-predecessor" whose coattails we were chasing since AC2.

All in all, Ezio's absence will leave a void that will be hard to fill by almost any other ancestor in the AC franchise. Requiescat in pace, fratello mio.

Story wise, this game served well as and last arc of Ezio stories. such an amazing closure for him to know more about his grandmentor, Altair. gameplay wise, its just too repetitive just like it predecessors, with a few improvement on varieties and level design of puzzle-kind tomb explore, and some michael bay kind of action packed thing on some of the scenes, which is too overwhelming and didnt make any sense, but yeah i still can admire their effort looking for the state of assasins creed nowaday,

A very solid game unfortunately overshadowed by its predecessors. Story is not really memorable. The aesthetic also might get a little bland at times. Graphics are alright. The gameplay is what holds this game up, able to vary its structure from time to time. (3.5 out of 5 stars)

After playing Brotherhood (yet again), this game is just a let down. The missions are wack, the city design is wack. The new mechanics are refreshing but get in the way of smooth, nice, clean gameplay. I'd leave this story at the end of ACB and dream up the rest for myself.

Underrated, a very good assassins creed game and a very good ending to the Ezio triology. I really enjoyed my time with this game, it managed to stay fresh and never outstay its welcome, i actually felt like i didn`t get to do all i wanted to do, which is a sign that the pacing was excellent. Usually i feel tired of games several hours before they end, but this was a short and sweet game, yet not too short.

THE PEAK OF ASSASSINS' CREED

You play as Ezio in his final journey during his old years. Crazy to see the young playboy from Assassins' Creed 2 is now a wise old man but still have the wits and charm. Ezio's goal now is to find the key that leads to a vault built by Altair Ibn Laahad, the protagonist of Assassins' Creed, the first game. The search lead him to Constantinople, years after the siege of Mehmed.

In Constantinople, Ezio can do parkour and venture the rooftops of the city. The city is bustling with people and felt very alive with sometimes people commenting on Ezio's antiques. Other than jumping around, Ezio will fight alot. There many weapons that can be used and have their unique animations. Combat is very good. Every counter executed is satisfying. But stealth is the main thing you'll be doing in main missions. Theres social stealth where crowds of people are tools for your usage. Some missions will instantly fail you if you're discovered.

The story here is amazing. It may be weaker than two other installments that is AC2 and Brotherhood, mainly because mostly Ezio will do is finding McGuffins. but the ending made it all up for it. Its been a few years I finished this game, but the ending is what I remembered the most out of it. The culmination of everything it set up before. This is the only moment where Assassins' Creed build towards something, which is absent in later entries. The soundtrack is also amazing, composed by Lorne Balfe.

Some issues I have is how samey and copy pastey the city is. Every corner never felt distinct. Felt all the same. There are differences in the people living spaces and Gypsies, a group of people also in the city. But most of them felt the same except for some landmarks to differentiate them.

Overall, the highest Assassins' Creed have ever been when it comes to story.

Wonderful conclusion to the "Ezio" timeline. An elder Ezio, now a Master Assassin, passing the torch to the next generation.

wrath

The only real problem with this game is crashes and lags. If in Brotherhood there were only few of them, in Revelations it's almost on every level with frame drops. I had to lower my performance settings on specific missions just to complete them which was a bit irritating. Regarding the game itself, it doesn't bring anything new in specific, but the hookblade feature is amazing and you can parkour really fast with it, I wish they kept it in the next AC games. The game also adds some "tower defense " scenarios which in my opinion don't fit in quite well in the whole game design.

Apart from all the performance issues, I would recommend this game.

The game presents some cool new mechanics, but overall, the story line and quests are utterly uninteresting and boring to go through. A complete step down from assassin's creed 2 and brotherhood.
