Memory Lane is a beautiful thing for those of us that were there.
Seeing some of these games brings alongside additional memories of that time period.

An awakening only us older ones can feel as it was meant to be felt and a pleasure and remarkable effort when such little power was afforded.

I suspect the majority of the younger generation may not feel the above sentimental offerings and only see the value of the games themselves and offer little support perhaps negative opinion.

No less are these retro packages a reminder we have aged and equally we see today the wonder of incarnations of modern games from a differing angle.

Some of these games were considered AAA at a time of early gaming history.
I implore the younger ones to try see that affinity by imagining they are now 60 yrs old with reference to their favourite games today.

The glory of time and in that glory of time shall be born future retro games of the likes of all the modern games you see today.

I imagine a ripple in a puddle forever reaching out until eventually it ceases to be.

That is life and that life contains a myriad of experiences and this game and others like it are 'forever' trapped in a memory of still the living that first sort and played them.

Thank you for reading.

Old school arcade favorites. Nothing to write home about, 100 games, not sure I saw 100. May be a buy more or play to unlock thing

If you don't like dated games, well uhh... Yeah well of course they are dated, 40/50 years old to be a bit more precise! But "dated" doesn't mean bad, of course!

If you like the Atari 2600, this compilation is a must-have. I found a bit disappointing to not see the Activision games, which contain a lot of great titles including Pitfall and Dolphin. But it still contains a lot of good and classic games on its own, that will offer for sure the lovely quintessence of Atari games.

Its a good bundle of atari games. Its solid on sale, and has a nice presentation. Otherwise... lets be honest, atari speaks for itself.

A piece of history. For the ones that lived the age of arcades but some younger generations can also find some fun into these games. Harder than they look and than I recalled (or maybe I'm getting old) .

I like it, plays as expected. Wish they would add Activision and other branded games. Pitfall would be great

The "Atari Vault" is a collection of 100 faithfully emulated Atari games for the iconic Atari VCS 2600 console and several arcade machines. It's a nice treat for nostalgic oldtimers like me - and for curious newcomers it's an interesting window into the origins of our hobby. However, it's important to note that this collection contains almost none of the titles that actually made the Atari console popular - see below for more details on that, as well as a list.

The games are presented in a very solid framework: every title is shown with a rotating 3D box art, scans of the official manuals are provided, controls can be rebound for each game individually, the paddle controller is emulated by the mouse with configurable sensitivity, screen and sound options can also be configured for each game individually, and the emulation is generally flawless. The only thing that I'm missing is some additional information or trivia about the games, but hey, Wikipedia is only one click away.

About the contained games, and specifically the lack of almost all favorites: Atari can only include titles for which they own a license - and about 95% of the most popular games for their console were created by third parties like Activision, Parker, or Imagic. In addition to that, some of Atari's own titles were tied to arcade or movie licenses that have long expired. The three titles that are featured prominently in the game description on the store page (Asteroids, Missile Command, Centipede/Millipede) are not just random picks - they are the _only_ high-profile titles that Atari still has control over.

Apart from those, you'll find some iconic titles from the very early history of the console (e.g. Adventure, Breakout, Haunted House) as well as some fan-favorites (e.g. Star Raiders, the Swordquest series, and Yar's Revenge), but that's it. Nostalgia, as nice as it can be, can't change the fact that that lots and lots of Atari games were just ... trash (that's one of the main reasons for the infamous crash of the video game industry in the 80s). And this collection reflects that.

If you're trying to relive your childhood with this collection, I recommend checking the list of included items on the store page, because you probably won't find many of the games you're thinking of. For reference, here's also a (non-exhaustive) list of many popular titles that are NOT included in this collection and most likely never will be:

- Arcade games from third parties, for which Atari obtained a (now expired) license to produce them on their console: Space Invaders, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Defender, Dig Dug, Phoenix, Galaxian, Pole Position, Moon Patrol, Vanguard, Berzerk, Joust, Jungle Hunt, Kangaroo, etc.

- Atari-produced games that were tied to movie/media licenses, which have long expired: Raiders of the Lost Ark, E. T., Superman

- Activision games: Pitfall!, Pitfall 2, River Raid, Decathlon, Enduro, H.E.R.O., Barnstorming, Starmaster, etc.

- Parker games: Frogger, Amidar, Q*bert, all 4 Star Wars games, and more

- Imagic games: Demon Attack, Cosmic Ark, Atlantis, Moonsweeper. etc.

- Coleco games: Zaxxon, Time Pilot, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., etc.

My recommendation is to compare the list of games that _are_ included (shown on the store page) to the list of games that aren't, and then decide how much this product is still worth to you. I think it _is_ worth a few bucks because of the solid presentation, the focus on user-friendliness, and the few good games it actually contains, even though the selection lacks the vast majority of good and/or popular titles.

At the time of writing this game is going for a 1.50 on Fanatical. I've seen it for as low as a dollar there too.

Steam has an Arcade category and while it's pretty decent, there really aren't too many game that were true arcade games. Sure there's lots of Robotron/Geometry Wars clones and tons of shmups (tons of shumps) but how many games really give you that 1970s/80 dingy arcade feel? Namco has their bread and butter Pacs and Galaga out. Konami has some smattering of stuff (NO FROGGER??) and there's that SNK collection (it ok). Capcom has a really good Beat Em up set and a really mediocre Street Fighter set. And I think that's about it.

This Atari collection however...well well well, this is something else. 100 games you say? Wait, original manuals? Online leaderboards? Online multiplayer? Wtf? 10 bucks? How? Why? How?

Well yeah man, it's true. You get a fat slice of Atari arcade and 2600 history for less than the price of a box of rubbers (actually, I don't know how much those cost but I assume they're 10 bucks because they're medical...I think)

Now, I've only spent time with the Arcade stuff but the bit of 2600 stuff looks solid too. Tons of options and configuring if you remember how to work those switches on your Vader. I can't be bothered with it at the moment and just stick with the arcade stuff but hey man, Yar's Revenge!

Anyway, you get solid ports of Centipede, Millipede, Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Missile Command, Pong, Black Widow and a bunch of other games I didn't really like as much but hey they're still worth a shot so why don't you see for yourself. You get multiple modes and of course, the leaderboards and they all control great. I don't think you can rebind keys but I mean...I dunno, they work for me so give these guys a break.

I feel like even with the small list of games I mentioned my price of admission has paid itself off several times over. Whereas Namco piecemealed their collection, Atari just threw a stack of them at once and I gotta admit, it was a little overwhelming at first. Thank goodness the world is on fire right now because otherwise I would've never had a chance to sit down and savor this tasty smorgasbord of gaming history. This is prime time Golden Corral gaming here and grandma's slipping whiskey into her fountain soda coke under the table.

Hell yes I recommend this game.

Battlezone, Food Fight, I Robot, Paperboy, Marble Madness, Pole Position, Gauntlet, Xybots, Area 51. These great Atari arcade games do not appear in this collection. I do know why; Atari has changed hands many times over the years and rights to various properties were fragmented and sold off. So this is what we get of what remains.

There are a few gems here. Space Duel, Tempest, Red Baron, Gravitar, Missle Command, Lunar Lander. On the Atari 2600 side Yars Revenge is there. The rest... Eh.. You don't get all the licensed titles. Only the Atari Atari games. There was one shining Atari star missing from the collection: Star Raiders 5200.

Fortunately the DLC fixes this. The 50-game DLC really scrapes the bottom of the barrel, but Star Raiders 5200 makes it worth a purchase.

If you have a Steam Controller, this game has perhaps the best controller setup I have seen. Nearly each game can have it's own configuration and the game automatically switches controller setups as you move from game to game. I posted a guide to improve the Steam Controller setup for Star Raiders to make the game even more fun. You can get benefit from this with a normal controller as well, as long as you use the Big Picture Mode

So yeah, I will give this a thumbs-up. Just know that you are not getting every Atari thing you would have wanted.

Pros:
+ Some good classic Atari Arcade games and a few 2600 gems
+ Slick presentation and nice menu music
+ Internet multiplayer for every game (that I have not tested)
+ Stellar Steam Controller integration
+ in-game scans of manuals for each game
+ Star Raiders 5200 (with DLC)!

Cons:
- Many of your favorite Atari arcade games are not here
- The menus are a bit klunky
- glow around vector lines in vector arcade games has a linear falloff, it looks unnatural.
- A whole lot of 2600 shovelware
- The DLC is mostly meh with one excellent exception

Hopefully there will be another DLC with more great Atari arcade games.

Amazing collection, with great recreations of scan lines and Vectors of the original games. You have also a stack of arcade, 2600 and 5700 games on here with leader boards and a slew of options... don't forget to turn the Bezel off for full screen. All in all a top job with a lot of love... not if only they could do a 7800 expansion pack :-)

Lots of fun games. Unfortunately the game select menu is awkward (how do you screw up a menu?) and the controls for Atari 5200 games should have been handled better (I had to do lots of pecking around the keyboard to see what button does what). Otherwise I enjoy the selection.

The Atari Vault is a fantastic collection of games, which is incredibly fun to play. Personally, my favorite games out of the entire collection would be the "Asteroids" and "Asteroids Deluxe" games. One of the neat things about the Atari 2600 games in this collection, are that in some (Some, of them, I don't think all of them have this) they have options that you can change the game settings like you could if you flipped one of the switches on the Atari 2600. In some games, you can even play the game in black and white. The only criticism of this game that I have is that it doesn't include the game "Battlezone" for some reason. Maybe it has to do with some copyright nonsense or something, I don't know. Otherwise, good game, 10/10, will play it a lot more.

Some Atari games have aged well; but most of these have not.
Still, there's a lot of fun to be had here if you're into arcade and early console games. I'm mostly into arcade games and find the 2600 stuff to be mostly terrible. I never had one of these. I had a C64 instead. Enough said.

I like the fact that I was able to buy this in the Steam store, as opposed to buying one of the big, bulky look-a-likes sold by the big box stores, names notwithstanding. It brings a dose of humility back into gaming though, to see where it all started instead, as opposed to hearing it from some older guy at E3 or something of the like. The only downside, I suppose, is that the manuals, albeit the fact that they ARE photographic recreations of the ACTUAL manuals, no offense to the producers of [Atari Vault]; but I suppose the only downside is when the manuals (the lack of pictures, for some games) are just a bit TOO simple when you have a full keyboard and not and Atari 26- or 5200 controller keypad... Other than that the game is great!

Funny collection. I only remember pacman from my 2600 days, but I remember a lot of dumb games that weren't really playable even back then...but we did just because it was so new. I'm 47 so I understand what "activisiion" means. It was radical wasn't it...no longer "passive vision" on the tv...but "actively engage with the vision...activision!" So pong, from that perspective was pretty freaking cool... and many of these games are minimalist like that. Some aren't playable (I can't imagine anyone playing the slot game...there are such better alternatives out there), but I can totally see the multiplayer aspect growing (I tried to host a Pong game, but no-one answered...and I didn't see anyone hosting anything when I was on....but the design is there...the functionality is all set... I think it would be hilarious to get drunk someday and have a pong competition online with strangers....it would be hilarious! I also enjoy having the arcade games...those alone justify the expenditure. The negative reviews just aren't into it, I get that...but it is fun to go minimalist from time to time. A lot of the designers back then weren't as mainstream as they are now--many of the games are more sophisticated than first appearances....take the volleyball game, for example...it appears to be unplayable. But once you get into it, you see that the ball makes a shadow, which is an indicator on how to move. There are two stick figures who move in tandem with one another, so there's a rudimentary "buddy" system by design. All of these things make for a fun game, if you can find someone to play against online. It would be fun to see who can figure out the mechanics best. Of course, there are probably people out there who have played against the CPU enough to have it mastered...but if I played someone like me, it would be fun. So there's a lot of potential. But for the price I paid, I'm happy just having 1/5 that are fun to goof around with from time to time. Good addition to my collection.
The frontend is solid. It's easy to navigate and logical. Overall, I would recommend this vault for your library.

Although I have a Atari 2600 and most of the games you would want on it, the idea of being able to play old Atari 2600 games with Steam friends over the internet was just so appealing that I purchased this set of Atari game and its 50 game expansion. Out of all the games present, most are single player or just garbage you would never want to play, and of those that are multiplayer, I've only had a single good experience playing with friends and that was Atari Circus. Most of the multiplayer games had awful controls. They were so awful as to render the games completely unplayable with friends, either from laggy input or just completely counter-intuitive control schemes but most often the games were plagued by both. I wish I could say that Atari Circus alone was worth the price of admission but at nearly ten bucks, I can't. I do not recommend.

EvachRouro
EvachRouro

First off, I should say, I bought this for the remakes I'm familiar with. Centipede, Missile command, Asterioids, etc. These games were on PCs when I was still a kid. You used K&M and it actually worked great. I have never owned an atari though I like collecting old retro games.
I've tried playing these games with a controller but it still seems wonky. However; my biggest gripe is that this is for PC so keyboard and mouse should be prioritized. The control schemes are terrible. Nothing reacts quickly enough and also doesn't seem to go where you want. Perhaps I'm just used to "PC master race" but I don't recall having these issues back in the day on generic dell manufactured mainstream household PCs in the early 2000s.
I'd recommend getting an emulator but it seems all these, and definitely the ROM's have been made illegal.

All that being said, I still keep this because it was cheap, and the only way I could find such a collection of these games. I suppose the only way to get that original 'feel' is to go to local arcade shops or whatnot that have the actual machines to play on. Unfortunately for me, that means over an hour drive.

I'd recommend this if you're desperate to play these games. If you have alternative ways, forget it.

I love the concept but the controls (mouse and keyboard) are horribly bad. Just too twitchy and unmanageable with no workable options for fine tuning. I remember playing these games as a kid using the primative wheel and joystick, those things put the controls in this game to shame.

Ethnol

Atari Vault at its core is a collection of classic Atari Arcade and home console titles for the PC. Honestly it does just that, and very good. You get a total of 100 games for $10, a dime a piece, something the people around when these games come out would probably faint at. The emulation is good, the games look great, and the UI and menu are also designed really well. I also love the borders on the arcade titles trying to recreate that classic arcade style, Atari 2600 games also have the classic box art..

My only gripe with Atari Vault is the games themselves. The vast majority of the 100 included games will likely never be touched by most people. This is due to these games being just a product of their time and very primitive. There is also an included online multiplayer mode for some of the 100 games, but good luck finding anybody actually online to play it with you outside of your friends list.

Overall I recommend Atari Vault for those looking into trying out these classic retro games from Atari. It is one of the best classic game compilations currently on PC. This title often goes on sale for $5 so if you are looking for a better deal wait for one of the major steam sales to get the game half off. I have not personally tried the DLC, but im sure its of the same quality of the compilation by itself. Thank you for reading and have a good day!

I am very impressed with the frontend for this collection. I don't think any functionality was left out, and all the artwork & manuals are there with easy access. Games with multiple settings do not just let you play it as is, but instead you choose all your *labeled* settings in the frontend for the round and go.

Paddle controller games will not be the same without a paddle controller. However, in game mouse sensitivity set down to 2 from a default of 5 together with a spacebar seems to work pretty good.

don't like:
The fact that I can't read the words on the arcade panel pictures.
can't use 2 analog controllers for black widow. I can only use the left analog, and the 4 buttons as an 8 way d-pad. Maybe it's my controller but it seems like a lost opportunity. EDIT: messed with the Steam controls (not in game controls mind you) and got Black Widow working on 2 analog sticks. That's some good clean fun right there. Now all I need is a usb paddle.

I got this only for the arcades. I never had an atari computer and I don't think that those games hold up today except for nostalgia reasons. But the arcades are classic. Asteroids, Lunar Lander, Gravitar, Breakout, and others with leaderboards. I am not disappointed.

I can't tell you how much I love this product.

Okay, first things first: Do not go by the sheer number of games shown. As with any collection like this, it's filled out with a pile of games you've never heard of. A

Second things second: Atari 2600 games are worse than you remember. Unless you have the most serious nostalgia for the 2600 in the world, I can't imagine anyone playing any of the 2600 games for long. They're a curiousity, but not a real asset.

However, this collection is ABSOLUTELY worth it just for the arcade machines. The interface is very usable, I appreciate both the ancillary graphics on the sidebars and the ability to turn them off, there are lots of configuration options, it's just an all-around great experience. And as opposed to the 2600 titles, the arcade titles really hold up.

I use a trackball as my primary input method on my computer, and it plays Tempest WONDERFULY from this collection. Asteroids, Centipede, Missile Command, all also great.

Obviously, there are plenty of ways to set up these games for free, and this isn't free. However, it's official, and it has a nice interface, and those two things aren't nothing. Plus, some of the wacky games that are included are definitely worth trying just for history's interest.

All in all, this is a great collection, well-implemented. I'm very happy with it.

Atari Vault game might be a hit or miss for some players. ive test play 99% all games in this collection. I found only a small hand full were worth it in this collection. I played mostly Crystal Castles 2600 , Centipede 2600 games. Most games in this collection are mostly first party titles. We need more 3rd party titles like Pole Position, Pacman, Digdug, Galaxian and many more. The overall experience was good I like the emulation and scan lines in this software. The overlays were a nice touch to the overall experience. Controls were a hit or miss at times depends on the game you play I had to use a mouse or plug in controller at times. Just wish had more 3rd party titles in this collection. To much sports games in this collection yuck. We need more arcade games in this collection mostly 2600 games. If you need to play Atari games just wait till it go on sale. I gave this collection 2/5 stars.

Ok well these are all very old and from the time when video games were just getting going, but there are a few in this collection I still enjoy playing once in awhile like Asteroids, Centipede, Lunar Lander, Millipede, Missile Command, Crystal Castles, Tempest, yes I was alive back then to play these games when they first came out.
I think they are worth the ten bucks I paid to play them all over again and again for as long as I want.

There is no better classic game compilation on Steam than Atari Vault. The games on it are numerous and the DLC adds even more to the mix. Also, the games on this collection are just good clean fun with them having multiple genres such as adventure games, sports games, action games and the occasional board game and pinball game. The collection also has a screen filter to emulate that classic console on a CRT TV set feel. Overall, I would recommend this collect to everyone who are retro gaming fans and gamers who want something more simple than today's video games.

The nostalgia is real. That's all I need to say.

I remember playing this Atari plug-and-play joystick thing that had Adventure, Yar's Revenge and a few of other games on it when I was much younger.

I never had the 2600 (the earliest I had was the 8 bit Sega Master System) so I'm reviewing this without any nostalgia and by 2021 standards- which might be considered a tad unfair!

The game I've had most fun with is the arcade version of Castle Crystals, which is similar to Pac Man but with a lot more charm and character! I also liked games in the Centipede/Millipede series.

I'm afraid the rest for me (just about every game in the 2600 series and most of the arcade ones) have much smoother more modern & enjoyable versions (i.e. Pong). I love Retro gaming, but this was way before my time to the extent of limited colours and square blocs as characters in a bird's eye view mode with out of date physics- retro for me is 2D 8-bit standard! (I don't mind the lack of music, I find the noises quite charming).

I'm sure for the time, these games were great, but playing without the benefit of the nostalgia factor, I found it hard to get enjoyment out of such limitations.

This is cheap, so I do recommend for fans, but for everyone else only buy if you're curious rather than expecting to get hours of enjoyment!

I actually own my atari 2600, with box, and a lot of games. I think around 125. I have gthe paddle, joystick, driving and keyboard controllers as well.
Owned the system back when it first came out around 1977. Play it from time to time on its old tv as well.

Bought this software and the ATARI VCS JOYSTICK.
The stick works but the SPINNER DOES NOT!\
Joystick must be plugged in. Bluetooth will not work with this. No way to map buttons.

So any spinner games you have to play with the keyboard is UNPLAYABLE..

I like it. The games are well done and still fun. It also forces me to remember the 1920s and how we USED to appreciate burning away hours of life playing video games.

The selection is laking most of the better Activision titles.
I get that you need the rights, however I'm disappointed after it boasts "The Best Atari Games".

easy to navigate and you can use a mouse for some of the games. However it needs to add more arcade and 5200 games.

this is pure old school GOLD. I grew up in the 80's when the original Atari came out. I dropped so many quarters in arcade games. this is just reliving the old days when I want to. this stuff is so PG you can turn a toddler loose on it.

Some great old Atari games to play - from the arcade stuff to the 2600 - a few more titles - or maybe a vault for 8-bit and jaguar stuff would be nice though!

The series doesn't work with joysticks, even the old atari ones.

I never played a lot of these games before this. I found this collection to be really neat, Wish Activision had an Atari collection available on Steam since they had a lot of good titles for the Atari as well

I first learned about Atari when I was much younger maybe 10 or 11 years old. I had my uncles old Atari 2600 and then my aunt took me to the arcades. Unfortunately, the system did not last too long and it broke. I also had experiences with Centipede, Millipede, Missile Command, Asteroids and the list could go on and on. I'm happy that all the classics here are under one collection and that the programming and emulation are spot on. The only thing I don't like is the interface. It's a tiny bit confusing but then again it could just be me. But it's real awesome for the content.

I'm old school and I like it. If you like the originals without any ripoff junk, then this is the Atari set for you. Buy it.

!!!DISCLAIMER. I DID NOT OWN AN ATARI 2600. I CANNOT COMPARE THIS TO THE REAL THING!!!

This is great. So many Atari games packed in here. It's a great journey to a throwback world of simpler gameplay. You WILL be surprised if you grew up, even as early as the 1990's when my real gamer youth was. There is a "3D" (not sure if it's technically 3D flight game in there. Crystal Castles is very impressive, and you just have this great slice of the 1980's with you right here for a modest price. There are achievements you can go for, and my DualShock 4 controller works fine with it.

I'm glad that Atari and Code mystics could bring this to Steam, and I think any retro gaming enthusiast who doesn't like to collect the hardware should get a piece of the action here. You might find that Atari games are a bit too simple, but when you let that go I've found that you can definitely have a great time playing this massive collection of old school games.

Remember the 1980's? Ronald Reagan, MTV, Swatches, and in the arcades a new form of gaming was taking over from the pinball and skee-ball tables, video games.

Atari became the leader in this category with classic games like Asteroids, Tempest, Breakout, Red Baron just to name a few. These games and more are in the Atari Vault collection!

They have managed to package together recreations of many of the classic arcade games from the early to mid 1980s, each with beautiful graphics and sound comparible to the original games. Also in this collection is pictures of the side art of the machines, the flyers that were released to arcades describing the game, and even leaderboards to compare your score on games with others around the world.

Now, the controls on some of the games can be a little squirlly if you are playing with a mouse and keyboard, especially for those games that originally used driving wheels, or rollerballs for controls, but the games are still playable.

Also included in this collection are games from the orig Atari VCS, or 2600 game system. Adventure, Tank Battle, 3D TIC-TAC-TOE, just to name a few.

Since the original release, new games have been added like Atari Baseball, Atari Soccer, Firetruck, Destroyer, and others, so there are quite a few games both in the arcade form and in the 2600 style. The total number of games now is 150.

There is also multiplayer with this collection, although I have not personally played it, so I will not rate that.

This collection has more games than the 'Atari Anthology' collection, but it would have been nice to have also had the video clips with Nolan Bushnell describing the beginnings of Atari, the popularity of the games, etc; but still, there is a lot of value in this collection.

If you want to travel back in time when video games were new, and the classics were just being released, it is hard to go wrong with 'Atari Vault'.

A treasure trove of nostalgia, and an excellent assortment for those who have some a little time to kill! You can even invite friends to play local co-op! It also has a native Linux build, which is awesome.

Please treat yourself to this game, especially if you have a 4K Monitor. It is a must.

"I need a H.E.R.O..."

I can't wholeheartedly recommend the Atari Vault. It's nice enough in principle, but many of the best VCS/2600 games were made by Activision or Imagic, not Atari, or made by Atari but under licence from, say, Taito. If you've ever actually had and loved a VCS/2600, don't go looking for your H.E.R.O., Stargate, Pitfall II, Dig Dug, Solaris, Moonsweeper, Demon Attack, Beamrider, Jr Pac-Man. The Atari 5200 games from the DLC didn't really do it for me either. In other words, much of the main bulk of the Vault is poor to middling.

The smattering of arcade games, the vector ones in particular, is more interesting. Tempest and Asteroids/Asteroids Deluxe are fun and control better for me here than in MAME. Again one wishes later/licensed games had been included -- Paperboy, Marble Madness, Gauntlet, Blasteroids, the Star Wars games...

So, idk. Feeling pretty so-so about it all.

Scratches the itch for us cavemen whom grew up in the 70's and 80's B.C.(before Cpu), better with a controller.

I own this fantastic collection on my Nintendo Switch. The PC version adds a most welcomed feature (on my part - maybe not as exciting for others) - the manuals for each game! These are scans of the real thing so it's a great museum collection of these lost (for most people) items. It even includes the manual for the systems themselves. Very cool to look through all of these.

Get Stella instead.

This emulator is incredibly picky about the controllers it recognizes. It won't work with the Legacy Engineering Atari joysticks or the recently released Atari VCS joystick. It does work with XBox controllers after some configuration, but that's about it that I could find.

Stella works without changing a single setting, and supports many more 2600 games.

I grew up with these games, so it's great playing them at home. I don't find 2600 games that interesting, though. My arcade favorites are Tempest and Red Baron. The one that is missing is Battlezone - I wish it was part of the set.

Also, I wish Missile Command was easier to play with a joystick, but that said, the overall selection is great and the fun factor is also great.
