I'm not big on the countryballs but I read the reviews and decided to try it out.

This game is a seriously fun and quality collectathon in the vein of the og spyro games. Levels are so full of stuff to do that I have spent 11 hours just finding things and I haven't even got to one of the three available levels at the time of this post.

The game is also very silly in an overall fun way, you can customize quite a bit of your character and there are some minigames to play as well.

I bought this game in the first week it came out I love this game and the open worlds that you can do so much in and as i am writing this there is 3 or 4 worlds one thing i think could be changed however is the arcade i remember when they first added them you could just play them now you have to unlock the arcade i also think it needs more mini games but i cant complain a whole lot as i have probably spent 3 hours playing those game

My PC can barely run the game even on lowest graphics, however that is because my PC is extremely bad. On a decent PC however, the game should run fine and the graphics look great. Gameplay is also fun. If you have a good PC, then it's absolutely worth getting.

Hes breaking out..
Hes breaking out..

A fantastic flashback into older platformer games such as conkers bad fur day and Banjo kazoo.
the world balls are funny the themes are very stereotypical and very very funny. no one is left out.
The combat is simple but can become interesting when you equip certain armour and weapons which grant abilities, Very much a passion filled game I recommend!

I loved this game in early access. Excellent, but the developers have made a horrible turn. The main hub of the game was once an indoor movie studio, with only 2 levels at launch and an anticipated 3 more to come. First extra came around and it was great PIRATES! The fans awaited the Japanese and American Western map. Then the down syndrome developers decided to revamp the movie studio and make it outdoors, and adding this Gold Bob Boss thing and stupid ZOO. It was stupid and a waste of time and money. Now they're releasing the full game with only 4 maps. Nice. You decided to stop developing fun new content and decided to just remake everything you had and cut new stuff? OH you should just make the western map a DLC so you can get more MONEY out of people. Perfect! I hope everyone forgot about this game and you get few sales upon full release launch. Don't know what happened to development, but now it blows.

Overall, This game is AMAZING. It is extremely child/family-friendly with occasional Slapstick Jokes however I really enjoyed, the levels/chronicles were extremely unique and each individually made with extreme detail to buildings, Easter Eggs, countryballs and mechanics. As I bought this Early Access there were the occasional glitch. I am really excite for the release of Time Trouble on Kaiju Island and the new one

Great graphics.,smooth game play Xbox controller ,Completely new type of game style.
Really have enjoyed this game destructible environments ,reminds of something like Super Mario 64,just in the Balls Universe. and crash into things break it
Takes a lot for me to be happy with a game purchase, sound is spot on.
So far,Viking story is the one i completed nice rewards and a solid 100%
Takes about 1 hours to figure out all the stuff you can do " for me at-least" and I've enjoyed every minute ,and will be spending a lot more time with !

For as long as i know
I desired a game that show
Balls galore that fight the foe
And all before appears the snow

But just in time for fall
Here comes bang-on-ball(s)
And with much of its thrall
It's not without a welcoming squall

Its to be played with others
So if you please get another
As friends you can play together
Family too but maybe not mother

So what are you waiting for
Buy this game from the steam store
It wont be costing that much more
Than any skin from the Overwatch store

Gameplay feels incredibly aimless.

Aesthetics are a bit over the top too. Making things more simplistic would actually add weight to anything unique and funny, but currently its just an overwhelming mash of objects.

Haven't even beaten the game but yeah this game is fire. 3D platformer but if it was online co-op is so much fun. Definitely try it out if you want a co-op game to play. Also the achievements are pretty silly.

In Bang-On Balls: Chronicles, gamers step into the shoes of Bob, a ball with human-like qualities. Bob is an intern at a major movie studio, and when players first encounter and personalise him, he's positioned at a plush hair and makeup booth. All the other characters are balls as well. Bob's mission is to journey through various film sets, navigating the movies' primary dilemmas. The adventure kicks off in a vast studio hub world, marking the start of the excitement.

TL;DR -- This game is fun. Pure fun. Which is something that a lot of other games don't quite accomplish.

I am not saying that other games aren't satisfying or enjoying to play, but in a lot of cases, I don't think the satisfaction comes from the games actually being fun. To name a few examples: the satisfaction of competitive team-based games, like DotA 2 or Overwatch 2, come from you working with your team to complete a designated objective before an opposing team does by hindering their progress. The satisfaction of survival horror games like Resident Evil 2, 3, 4, 7, or 8 comes from careful planning, proper resource scavenging/management, and staying calm in stressful situations in order to dominate larger-than-life threats that are only looking to oppress you. The satisfaction of battle royals, like PUBG or Apex Legends, is some combination of the two previous mentioned genres. The satisfaction of puzzle games like The Room series or Escape Simulator has little-to-no relevance to the story, and comes from the mastering of mechanics and using your wit to outsmart and solve the obstacles laid before you. On the flip side, Point & Click Adventure games, such as just about anything made by LucasArts or TellTale Games, have hardly any relevant mechanics to speak of and the satisfaction comes from seeing a long and endearing journey meet its conclusion after hanging on for the entire ride from beginning to end. And with MMO games, the satisfaction comes from filing for bankruptcy after maxing out at least 3 credit cards on shiny armor and weapons that inflate artificial numbers to impossible degrees solely because the human brain likes seeing big numbers and shiny objects.

Bang-On Balls: Chronicles is different. The mechanics are very bare-bones, with the only real actions that you need to take note of are jumping, dashing, and stomping. The story is practically non-existent, with no real dialogue in the game at all and the entire premise being found on this game's store page. Since everything from you, to your enemies, to the neutral living beings in each of the world are all... balls... there are no larger-than-life threats that are generally any more intimidating than you are (with the exception of the boss fights which are all on a much grander scale and are super over-the-top) at any given moment. There are some decent puzzles in the game, but none of them ever felt unfair or cheap, and can generally be solved by looking around, paying attention to your environment, and utilizing your three main moves that I mentioned earlier.

But beneath all of these elements of the game, which are more matter-of-fact aspects rather than nitpicking complaints about this game, is an open world adventure that is just... fun. This game doesn't hold your hand, but that also means it doesn't drag you along or drag you down any paths you don't want to go. You are fully free to explore, fight, observe, find, collect, and most importantly, enjoy. This is a game that gives you everything you need to enjoy it, and is open enough to allow you to find and express that enjoyment in any way you see fit. It allows you to find whichever tools and cosmetics in its open world that you are daring enough to reach, and rewards you with those items by letting you spend the in-game currency that you've earned through having fun in this game on them, and never punishes you by making you spend any real money (yes, ABSOLUTELY NO MICROTRANSACTIONS, as promised by the developers) or making you doubt your choice in selecting one cosmetic over another at a given time. The maps are large and vast enough that you always find yourself discovering something new until you get 100% map completion, and the pacing of the game is steady enough that you can go as fast as you want with the balls-a-blazing combat strategy or you can take it nice and slow as you take in and appreciate the in-game worlds that were obviously designed with intention, passion, and fun in mind.

And I think that's the key. This game was designed to be fun. It was designed with enjoyment in mind. And that fact alone is what separates the satisfaction of this game from the satisfaction of others.

If you feel the need for some comparison to relate to what this game is like, I would say it's a cross between Supraland and Spyro Reignited, but with much less of a story than either of those two games. But this comparison still doesn't really do it justice. If you want to do this game justice, and if you really do want to just have fun with a game, pick this one up. I'd bet that it will make you smile at one instance or another, just like it made me smile.

Simple fun, has local co-op, all cosmetics in game. It's not going to blow your mind, but its a great reminder that games that focus on fun will always be classic. If you enjoy just exploring maps with a buddy and laughing at all the mayhem, you'll love this game. Every corner of the map seems to have some stuff to do, and co-op was pretty seamless (until it crashed, but progress was saved so no issues there.) The controls and general gameplay are simple, but the maps are designed to make the most of your physics interactions and get you to explore different areas. From just the first map, I can tell this is going to be a fun time for local co-op.

Steam Controller (and by extension Steam Deck) also feels great with this game. I just used whatever default config was, and the controls were great. Touchpad camera controls feels natural, even better than stick. Only gripe so far is that local co-op camera can feel a little zoomed in since you're already sharing half the screen with someone, and some options menus are cropped when in local co-op split screen. Could probably be solved with camera options to avoid zoom in and keep it locked to certain distances when possible.

Tempted by positive reviews, I purchased the game. I played CO:OP and in my opinion the game has potential, but it needs a lot of polishing. I used the standard coop mode and the mode for two separate monitors in the nvidia panel. The camera in two was hopeless. Every now and then it would block, hide behind vegetation and it was hard to navigate anything. In my opinion, releasing the game in version 1.0 should be fixed, lack of legibility in some situations, what to do and where to go and not very sharp graphics, I felt like I was playing games from the PS3 era. Personally for me the map and more information was missing. The second problem for me is (I haven't watched any game footage or read) very poorly explained aspects of items. Acquiring a sword in Viking land, I wanted to use it, but couldn't figure out how. It was natural for me to be able to use it, but I didn't (I guess.) There was no notification of what to do with it or how to do it. Playing 1.5h with my girlfriend we were tired of the game and so I decided to refund. It's not a game for us, unfortunately, which is a shame because I liked the idea and a lot of the content at the initial stage.

This game is too fun. Now don’t ask me how having a country ball, committing countless acts of war crimes, is worth playing for almost 3 hours. Can’t wait for the game’s future(Also thanks for sponsoring Mr Spherical, he got me into the game)

I absolutely love Countryballs and Countryhumans so when I found out there was a game for it I was VERY excited. The game is not complete yet but is already more fun than 90% of the AAA games I've ever played. Very nice game. Very detail oriented. Can't wait for the full release.

Toodixinya
Toodixinya

I want to recommend this game because it has some great concepts and it's very colorful. But honestly, it's way too janky making it frustrating. The biggest problem is the trampolines. Usually you just bounce right off of them forcing you to constantly have to correct mid air which is a terrible implementation. If you can finally get your ball to bounce anywhere near straight up and down (which should be the default on a trampoline in any platforming game) when you try to slam on it for extra bounce height, your ball just goes straight through it. Try jumping on it while your ball is through the trampoline and the game acts like the trampoline no longer exists, forcing you to jump at it from an angle again and repeating the cycle of frustration.

I'd Like to review it, but I couldn't even launch the game. My PC meets the recommended requirements. I even tried restating after installing, uninstalled/reinstalled/verified. Steam would say the game is running, but no application process on my PC. *Shrug* hopefully i get to play it....one day.

Fun, not difficult to play, but loads to collect/find. Great collect-athon platformer with new content coming.

A The Me
A The Me

A fantastic platformer with some of the best level design I've seen in years. Each map is stuffed full of secrets and passages and collectables. They took all of the best aspects of sprawling open world games and brought it to each map. Instead of a massive open world that feels huge, and lifeless, each area feels distinct and special, with treasure or enemies crammed everywhere.

The aesthetic is charming and full of life and energy and color as well. The ability to tell simple stories using only character animations and settings without dialogue really shows mastery by the developer.

10/10, I'm looking forward to future updates and enjoying my time in it right now!

Afrika Korps
Afrika Korps

Didn't expect to spend as much time as I did on this game. The art and style is ridiculously charming. The balls in each map have their own unique gibberish which is endearing. The core gameplay loop is fun, but the unique selling point is definitely the maps. Here are some reviews of the maps currently available:

1. Viking:

Great first map to get into, deceptively bigger than expected. Map flow is good. Interesting set-pieces all around. Each set piece is not confusing of how it got there. The appearance of Romans is kinda anachronistic? Maybe save it for an actual Rome map would have been better. Decent cosmetics and gear to collect.

2. Cold War

A little disappointing coming from Viking. Despite the aesthetics, going through the US or the Soviet route is practically identical. Since they are grouped together, it makes doing the main objectives feel repetitive. Maybe I'm not playing as intended idk. I wanted to play both sides in one go. Great attempts at diversifying the atmosphere tho. Non-objective biomes are some of the best places to explore. Maybe it's the setting, but cosmetics and gear do not feel that varied or exciting to collect. Green goo and aliens feel out of place need explaining. In Vikings, it was clear that I am on the Britain side and my purpose is to drive away the vikings. Here, you're fighting the side you're trying to help build the rocket for, which doesn't make sense. The lore I made in my head says that the aliens have infiltrated the humans and have mind-controlled people, which I kinda don't like. The cold war is interesting in and of itself. Following up on the aliens, the finale confusing to play through, both thematically and gameplay-wise.

3. Pirates
Best map I've played so far. Haven't finished it yet, but spacing out the main islands with smaller islands with stuff to do makes each main objective not feel repetitive. Each island and boss is very unique, and I very much look forward to looting what the bosses were using on me. I can explain my presence easily as a fortune seeker in the warring archipelago. Even traveling between islands is fun. Some things do need explaining tho, like the flying dutchman thing.

Overall, a very enjoyable experience. Here's to many more years of content to come!

This game is so good. I love it I have played 27 hours of this game. There are tones of Items that you can get by killing bosses and Exploring the big maps. Exit Plan should get way more money.

If you have a controller it is worth playing. The puzzles aren't too hard but the combat can feel very drawn out and not very exciting at times. The standard controls scheme is fine but it could be a little better with just tightening so you feel more in control of your ball.
The only complaint I have is that at least one of the bosses I encountered couldn't be defeated in single-player, luckily for me this awesome French ball joined me and we beat the boss, But that might just be an early access thing.
The music is alright but it doesn't stand out and is not very memorable to me.
The first level has a lot of verticality, and it is very well connected and has some great hidden easter eggs,
The game features a lot of customisation which I always appreciate. The game doesn't have a save feature whenever you want but there is plenty of checkpoints and autosave and certain times.

Overall a very nice game I would give it an 8/10 for early access, but this might change after the full release.

After playing with this at PAX, I knew I had to give it a try. It's certainly a little bit strange, but my kids love it and I think it's pretty good too. While the "early access" shows through in some obvious ways (I'm still not really sure of the overall storyline or actual main objective) it's still absolutely worth the asking price if you like big world "adventure" games with lots of mini-games. It's even got some interesting platforming, and certainly some novel but fairly intuitive mechanics.

That said, on the note of "lack of polish", I should note that the Steam listing on this is incorrect about controller support: they absolutely are fully supported and I think most people would find this game much easier with a controller than without. You'll see some clipping on costumes, and you'll also probably wonder about the seeming range of polygon counts and why you can't bump that up or down in the graphics settings (playing on a 3080 so it should be more than able to handle rendering some balls/blobs without them looking like they got trapped in Last Hero of Nostalgia).

All that is very minor and the sort of thing I absolutely expect in Early Access. Overall this goofy game is totally worth it, and I suspect it will come out as one of the great sleepers of 2022, though I suspect people will call it BoB because who wants -that- image conjured every time you load up a game?

The combat is fun, when you're able to do it, 9 times out of 10 the boss uses his shield and never attacks or lets it down. When this happens you have 2 options wait 10 minutes and if you're lucky they do something dumb and you get 3 hits, then wait another 10 minutes to do another 3 damage or just leave.

Fantastic game, way better than what I thought it would be. The game is very light-hearted and although it may appear as targeted towards younger people, I feel like anyone will find entertainment in it. This game is meant to be a what a videogame should be - a fun time, you can enjoy and relax with. Think of this game as something the likes of Super Mario Odyssey - with it's platforming, death system and tasks, the fun comes from exploring while doing short, and fun quests. Should you die - you lose nothing besides the currency, the entirety of which you can get back simply by going to the place where you died, while the level does not restart - consider dying as just being teleported to a previous save spot and having some of your currency left where you died. Even if you die, enemies do not regenerate, not even the minibosses/boss. On the topic of bosses, the combat is very fun, with the best term to describe it being simply: ,,Silly". There is no crazy attacks or maneuvers you have to do to survive, just swing your ball around, and watch the mayhem as your enemies bounce all around. That is not to say, that it's very easy - certain enemies require you to do a ground-pound to kill them or wait until they let their guard down, which can throw you off and you will receive damage, or even die. The platforming is very fun and forgiving, I doubt there is any point in the game where you would get annoyed. The aforementioned currency is not necessary to progress, although it can buy you gear, of which there is a lot, many items having fun to play around with gimmicks. The game's graphics look magnificent, considering what the game itself is. At the moment there is only 1 stage available, which itself is very good and takes ~2 hours to beat if you get off-tracked easily, if going right for the objective, it'd probably take 10 minutes, but personally speaking, unless you are going for records, this is not the ideal way to enjoy it. I definitely recommend the game to anyone who is looking for a simple and silly game, which is meant to bring fun, not stress and nerves. As a ball haver, I suggest You consider buying the game - and should You come across it when it is on sale: don't think - just do it.
