Batman Arkham origins is definitely my second favourite Arkham game next to Knight. its got amazing boss fights, great overall combat, an amazing story, and on top of all that we get to see a more ruthless, learning batman as he figures out what its like to really be the batman. is it a cash grab? absolutely? does that make it an less one of my favourite games? absolutely not. very rarely is a game both nostalgic and as enjoyable from my first play through years ago on the PS3. I definitely could not recommend this game more. solid 9/10 in my books, the only thing i would change is maybe a mod/update for better textures and Ai like in Knight.

An underrated installment in the Arkham series (though not a mandatory one story-wise). Very fun game, love the cinematics.

this game may be the worst Arkham game but it's still a great game, a must play for fans of the series. a couple weird glitches in a few spots but nothing to major or game breaking

Batman A.O. is a fun game to experience. The combat and the combos are satisfied. All around, this game is good

Definitely one of the best Arkham games. It may have been done by a different studio but they know how to make Boss fights. The game shows a younger more vengeful Batman since hes only been at this vigilante thing for 2 years. Even the VA change for Batman did a phenomenal job showing how much anger Batman has. Very good Batman Game and really Recommend.

Preordered Origins for the PS3 when it came out and loved it and still do. Is just as good as the rest of the games in the series despite the general consensus that it was/is a disappointment.

Story is probably the best in the Arkham series, gameplay is as you'd expect and the world is great. The voice cast do a brilliant job and the atmosphere makes it a good game to replay around Christmas time.

This isn't a bad game by any means, but of all the Arkham games, it's the one you might want to skip. There are some improvements to gameplay and engine (offset by optimization issues that you'll have to work out solutions for via various google searches and workarounds), but it's very much more of the same. This title ends up feeling like a bit of filler between Arkham City and Arkham Knight, and it's definitely the weakest entry of the bunch. That said: the Christmas Eve atmosphere is awesome, the multiple-assassin-jailbreak premise is extremely well-executed, and the brief glimpse at Batman's early career provides a very graceful narrative ramp-up for the big finale that is Arkham Knight.

I can't give this game a thumbs-down in good conscience given how polished it is and how much fun I had with it, but my general advice for new fans of the series is that you can safely skip this game, and head straight to Arkham Knight for a superior product.

my favourite batman game after arkham knight, good fight mechanics, satisfying stealth knock out, good story presentation.

I want to like this game more but too many little things hold it back. Combat being an absolute mess is my main complaint. Far too often are button inputs not registering while fighting. City and Knight are both smoother experiences.

Knockerdanger

I adore the visual style of this game. It also flows in combat better than even Knight. Flow is not the same as mechanics, tho, Knight is indeed better in many things. I love an angry Batman. The story itself is great, but I wish Joker had been a side villain, and Black Mask was actually Black Mask. I also wish Croc and Deathstroke wasn't so easy, and maybe had a rematch with every single one, instead of finishing them all in one fight. The problem with this game compared to the rest, is that there is no feeling of urgency. All other games have a destructive scenario. Here it's just a bad Christmas night. The design of Gotham is very boring and repetitive - Cold Cold Heart is phenomenal.

is it a good game? it's a batman arkham game of course it's good, it's optimisation however is not. if you're like me and are stuttering during free roam right click the game in your steam library, click properties and type -popupwindow in launch options, this should help with the stuttering by running the game in borderless windowed mode

A very underrated arkham title that captures the same feel as the other arkham games do, even though it's made by a different team.

One of the best arkham games in my opinion. The multiplayer was perfect and the story had me on my feet the entire time. If this game ever gets a remaster which i doubt, I really hope the multiplayer comes back with it. The multiplayer was phenominal.

This was the one Arkham game I never had the chance to play back in the day and wow, it was amazing! WB Montreal and Splash Damage nailed everything that Rocksteady layed down, and the story....amazing. Definitely a great game, and every bit an Arkham game as Asylum, City and Knight. Great game, I give it an 8/10.

It has a few stumbles at points, but I can easily overlook them.

Story is so so, but it is a nice perception of Bruce Wayne in his early days as Batman, although I liked it different and from an even earlier age. But oh well.

If you like the arkham series, it's still a must to play

StanleyStannate

How did WB-Montreal make this banger (easily the best Christmas game of all time) then Gotham Knights? It's like when Platinum Games went from making Bayonetta, Vanquish, and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance to making Babylon's Fall.

tsartsa

Very badly made game. By far the worst of the Arkham series.
It shows that Rocksteady wasn't involved in the development. Game glitches everywhere and FPS drops due to map loading along many, many problems.
Not recommended, unless you find it at a really cheap price or if you are a Arkham series fan like me and just can't help but play it.
Rating: 6/10 at best

I think this is my favorite Arkham game (maybe it's the cozy snow?). I've played it on both Xbox and PC and thoroughly enjoyed it both times. Origins probably gets the most hate out of the series, but honestly I can't figure out why. It holds up just as well as the other Arkham games. If you like the Batman universe you'll have a good time, simple as that.

Origins has always been a great game, but it has some issues. I bought it again since it was on sale, and also because I haven't played since the Xbox 360 days. You'll catch yourself every now and then having to restart the mission, or restart the app because of a glitch that doesn't allow you to move forward in the story. Granted it was made in 2013, so it is bound to have something wrong with it due to its age. Story is great, and it encapsulates Batman really well. Highly recommend if you're a Batman fan!

Although noticeably buggier (and jankier) than Arkham Asylum and Arkham Knight, this is still a Batman game and pretty frickin' cool at that!

People hate on this game mainly because it was a "copy" of Arkham City. Honestly, it was and wasn't. And I'm ok with that! Sure some parts of the map was re-used, and the combat is identical with some new cool moves and gadgets added, but that doesn't mean that this game deserved the hate that it got. It had an excellent story, gameplay, and atmosphere. I loved how this game told a story about a younger, more angry Batman/Bruce Wayne, and that it's his 2nd year of being The Batman. I loved basically all characters in this game. I loved Joker, Bane, Batman, etc. The boss fights were so freaking good. In fact, they were actually BETTER than most of the other boss fights in the entire Arkham series. This game may have some bugs, but that didn't stop me from enjoying and loving the game. I also love the multiplayer portion of this game. (Yes there is a multiplayer, but you have to re-enable it from the game files since it was shut down 6 years ago.) The multiplayer has some game breaking bugs, sure but it was still great and there is a community of players still playing it today! Join us on discord and the official steam chat and meet some amazing people! I'm so glad this game is getting the love and attention it deserves today. I highly recommend this game. Buy it! You won't regret it.

It's very similar to the other Arkham games, but let's be honest, that's not a bad thing at all. Combat, story, and the feeling that you're Batman makes this game a ton of fun. You may see a glitch here and there but I didn't encounter any during my play-through that stopped my progress. The game also runs extremely smooth for it's age. I also recommend the Cold, Cold Heart DLC.

My first encounter with this game dates back to 2013. Then, under a huge impression after Arkham City, I expected something similar or to even exceed it, but I was wrong. At least it appeared to me like that back then. Now, in October 2022, I have decided to go through all of the Arkham series games, and I have finally reconsidered my opinion about Arkham Origins. I underestimated this game big time. Yes, it has its flaws, but they are minor compared to a great storytelling and atmosphere of snowy Arkham, some memorable encounters. It is a great prequel that sheds light on what happened prior to all the previous Arkham games. I am quite please with the game! Definitely reserved a top shelf in my heart!

Definitely not as good as the Rocksteady games but still a pretty great time, short as it is. My one real gripe is the cast change, I like the performances but seeing Arkham Batman and not hearing my boy Kevin Conroy is jarring, same with Joker and Mark Hamill. Either way Troy Baker and Roger Craig Smith do a great job. Other than that the game is pretty damn great, holds up perfectly and is highly underrated.

This my favourite Arkham game hands down and the only one I've played multiple times. The story is incredible, the boss battles are the best the series has to offer and the Christmas/winter setting give the game a real distinct feeling.

WORST ARKHAM GAME EVER
Absolute dogshit, i cant even begin to explain all the problems ive had with it. first, the game doesn't give clear directions at all only the marker on the map. Second, the amount of bugs is terrible, like how?!?!? half the time you cant counter. Changed most if not all the mechanics from the previous games. its so bad i couldnt finish the story or even try the dlc. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GAME IF YOU LIKE THE OTHER ARKHAM GAMES, THERE IS A REASON THIS ONE IS NOT THE BUNDLE

Arkham Origins in my opinion was still a good batman game, But i think the weakest in the Arkham series.I did enjoy some of the gadgets you would get, and enjoyed a less prepared and less experienced batman. Overall i would still recommend the game to DC fans, as if the rest of the Arkham games never existed this was probably be the best Batman game.

Such a great game. The origin story of the great batman in the arkham franchise. Some people will hate it because it's made my a different company but it's honestly one of if not the best in the franchise.

The game holds surprisingly well in terms of gameplay and even story telling in some areas, art design is interesting as well with snowy cityscape. But its a massive step back in almost everything else compared to Arkham entries by RS studios. Graphics and sound were way better even in Asylum and even some mobile games have better looking characters and textures. Atmosphere is kinda meh. Overall 6.9/10.

Coming from someone with a Low-End PC, Arkham Origins is more put together than Arkham City on PC. For one, I had no problem making the game play on DX10/DX9 and I had no run in's with the infamous detective mode glitch present in Arkham City (I heard people say that the glitch was in this game too but I had no such issues like in City). I had tons of fun playing through this game again considering this is the first time I've touched in since it first released on Xbox 360/PS3. This is a great Batman experience, for those with Low-End and High-End (though your performance is obviously going to vary with low end I was perfectly fine rocking 30-50fps on the Intel HD Graphics 4600). There is a problem sometimes with stuttering while in Gotham but It didn't bother me too much, that might not be the case for you but it was for me. Overall this game is a banger and WB did a great job with this game. Sad there is no more online anymore, that was fun :(. Still, Awesome game. 8.5/10!
