Great game, even in early access, played the demo before it was early access and it is even better. Looking forward to updates and future content!
Easily worth the 5$. Great for Steam deck and great on PC. Plenty of characters, weapons, items and "builds" to play and mess around with.
Good game. My only complaint is that Danger 5 seems somewhat uninspired and requires very specific build paths if you are trying to win. The way to play is Danger 4 imo.
My game of the year. Exactly what I have been looking for. Casual yet deep game play, infinite replayability.
This game scratches so many itches the right way it's insane. Definitely got a learning curve that I'm still finding my way around but it's one of the most addictive games I've played in years. 10/10 potatoes.
I thought I was done and getting bored with "Survivor" games, then this one shows up all out of nowhere and fixes everything that made the other ones boring to play after the 2nd run.
Do you plan to introduce multiplayer for the game?
I love to play This Game and i think it will be very funny to play it with Friends :)
You ask yourself: "Should i buy another "Vampire Survivors" or "20 minutes till dawn"" ?
Easy answer: This game is the shit. 4000% more ways to play. So many items, effects, different (crazy) characters and unlocks.
While i am trying one build there is already coming an idea for another build.
After only 7 hours, if i could time travel and this would cost 14,99, i would still buy it.
The game is delightful, i really love it. It's simple, yet not boring. Definitely would recommend :)!
Beautiful work, very addicting, deep mechanics, fun classes, variety of builds per/each class, extremely fun to play with controller laid back, easy to the eyes (doesnt give seizures like vampire survivors), very cute artstyle. I dont know what else to say, definitely recommended for 2D action roguelike fans.
literally the most fun you can have with your clothes on. 10/10.
imagine a world where the devs know you're not deaf and put game music on 25%... this game, these devs.
but the music is awesome! i turned it up!
It is a fun rogue-lite that you can sink many hours in and there are so many builds that you can experiment with
Really fun and a bunch of unlockable characters and replay value. Highly recommend for the price, no need to wait for a sale it's more than worth 5 bucks.
I love this game, truly a marvel of game design. The only things i have with this game is a couple balance issues, and new characters/items. Nice to just play something simple
Played a lot when it was just a demo and purchased shortly after it came out. Very impressed with what was done for the low price. The game mechanics for this game as well as variety of characters set this apart from other games of a similar vein. Being an achievement hunter, I really appreciated the challenge that was presented when going for every one. Having said that I would love for there to be more achievements but can understand it not happening given other priorities or projects.
This game is so fun with so many ways to play. I am looking forward to sharing this game with friends.
Loving how this game feels fresh after every round you play. Every attempt at a higher score feels like i'm trying it again for the first time. very addicting
For a game that on the surface Looks stupid and slow paced its actually Super fun and fast paced If you like games to sit down and just chill while playing this is for you I used to play before its release when it was a demo and there were less characters and I thought it was fun then too
This game is huge value for $5. Speaking of money, make sure you only buy items you really want for your build, because anything you don't spend holds over between waves. Learn from my terrible mistake :)
Just spend all day trying your best to survive, and make fun interesting builds as you progress and unlock various characters and items. It's a good time, and if you're a fan of Vampire Survivors and Boneraiser Minions, this game will feed that sort of bullet hell, survival itch.
I absolutely love this game, it's really simple, yet difficult to play, which just makes this game so much fun. If I were to complain on something is that I had so much fun and I completed all achievements already. I'm looking forward to hopefully more updates.
Pure potato dopamine!
It's a great addition to the action roguelike games. Lots of different potatoes to play from the start, and you can unlock even more - so there are a lot of builds possibilities. If you like games like this is a no-brainer - get your Brotato today!
This is a very very fun game to play, especially when you get to see all the random little buffs you can give your character eventually turn you into a potato of mass destruction, My only complaint is that during the most recent update, I lost all my progress, literally everything is gone. I doubt that this wasn't intentional from the Devs to give players a new slate to play on with the new update, yet I also highly doubt that this will be a common occurrence in the game. Overall, I'd rate this game 9/10. Would totally recommend!
A very skill-based rogue-lite wave shooter thingy. Very satisfying and fast gameplay. Wastes none of your time. Crunchy sound effects, great performance etc. 9/10 so far for EA.
Brotato is yet another welcomed addition to the reverse bullet hell/wave shooter/auto battler genres. Deceptively simple in design, incredibly addicting in execution. This game has me saying "one more run" hours after the first. I can't wait to see how it turns out in full release, as there is already so much variety and choice. Brotato is a must for all fans of genre(s) 8.5/10 would boil'em, mash'em, stick'em in a stew!
This game is, without a doubt, the dumbest game I've ever dumped this much time into. It's absolutely video game junk food, and I can't stop fucking eating it.
I'm surprised by how much i'm enjoying this, definitely worth the money. Simple but fun, there's progression, challenge and variety.
Isaac meets Vampire Survivors meets STS meets Just King. More than worth the price of admission if that sounds appealing to you.
Rounds are short, upgrades feel impactful. The art style is serviceable and I haven't experienced any performance issues playing on a toaster.
This game is amazing and fun. I am not the best at it but I cant get enough. I play over and over trying to get the victory but even though its tough for me 100% recommend to everyone out there.
$5 AND YOU'RE STILL READING THE REVIEWS??
Probably the best use of $5 I've ever spent. This game is a blast.
It's potato survivors. Tons of characters and weapons, tough to put down. I rate it as top 3 in the genre behind VS and above Boneraiser Minions.
i say buy it because i love rougelike games but atm i dc while playing i cant open it on steam but i can open it when im not on steam :( but still will buy
Very fun. Looks basic and simple until you start losing. The depth and variety of builds is amazing.
Bug with HDR
When i close the game desktop looks too brightly. I need go to desktop settings and switch off and next switch on HDR settings to go back to normal view of my desktop.
You've found gold!!!
Time Played: 40 hours (at time of this review)
Bugs Encountered: Zero (that's extremely rare)
How did I find: Watching KenseiTV on youtube.
Gameplay: 5/5
Replayability: 5/5
Challenge: 5/5 (especially at tier 5)
Mechanics: 4/5 (it's hard to due a specific build due to randomness)
Look... we all know there's a lot of on steam to wade through lately but this one is gold. It falls in line with a lot of the other popular single player top down survival games but just like Project Lazarus, Vampire Survivors, and Taur they all have solidly unique takes on it. Brotato requires both skill and adaptation to beat the higher tiers.
When you start you are gracefully introduced to the mechanics that allow for a lot of different playstyles. There are tons of things to unlock as you progress and most are just fun. When you hit Tier 4 (out of 5) that's where things can get dicey. Some characters are much harder to learn than others but all in all, you could be full 420 and be able to play this game while listening to your favorite music/streamer etc.
I applaud the developer in releasing a solid bugless game (At least I haven't seen any). As a software developer myself I know the amount of time, testing that goes into any product. Totally worth the money and I hope to see an expansion/etc in the future.
Well done team.
10/10 Love this game! Beaten this game multiple times and have...more hours logged on this than I would care to admit! Dev has been pretty active too! For such a cheap price it really can't be beat!
It's very much a One Stick Shooter but the constant progression is nice, and the different characters are quite unique.
If you loved vampire survivors, you gonna love this too.
So much variety, challenges and cool combinations possible!
Easily double the prices worth on gaming hours.
This game works perfectly with the Steam Deck, unlike its 'parent game' - Vampire Survivors.
While being in Early Access, it works well and offers many hours of fun. Super-addictive! One more round is very strong in this game.
One thing would make this game great - some perks to spend as at the moment you have no way make it a bit easier on the metagame side and nothing to do in menus between the runs.
Issues:
Harvesting thing is totally confusing and not explained well.
Crashed once mid-game.
its a decently fun game the new gain 1 max hp every time you level up makes it good. so is the high amount of characters
Incredible potential but also insanely fun as is. Check out a video or two and jump right in if you like what you see.
Similar style to Vampire Survivor but way more control over your build. Way more control = Way more fun
There are some experiences that I think are just life-enriching, no matter who you are or where you came from.
And one of those is being a wizard with 6 flamethrowers.
