A nice and funny puzzle game, the physics can be annoying sometimes and you do need some luck for some stunts. The cat is cute though.
The game released in 2016. Its been a year and still the bug in the game haven't yet fix.
This game is so great for passing time! :D Love your game!
i love the game! but i cant get on it! it glitches out, PLZ DEVS FIX THIS BUG
This Game is fun if none of your friends will play Overwatch or PUB G with you.
All I can say is I love this game. I wish there was another one like it.
It's entertaining, fun, engaging. Good for passing time or just relaxing.
Not difficult with just enough challange to keep it interesting.
Edit: As for those that claim its buggy. I have a 7 year old system I game on. I've managed to get through all the levels with all bonuses intact and gain the new bonus for each level. Some of the levels require a bit more effort in executing, but I haven't found them to be impossible to pass.
The game itself was fine/ it worked well
Cute game, like Angry Birds :) but not that good.
Fun puzzle game. Control fat kitty to cookies using things like teleportation. Fun to play and not too hard. Few a bit challenging stages but it is a good thing. Game makes you to use your brain a bit. Game is cheap too. Hats collected from stages are very cute. If you like cats and puzzle games. This is for you.
Great visual effects, music, and gameplay. Definitely worth the 59 cents i got it for on sale!
Game wont load - badly optimized as Steam forum shows some users experience problems with win 10 and DirecX9. Dissapointed ! Thumbs down
I'm a fat cat and I find this game offensive. I'm not just a big blob slowly falling cus no motor skills. I'm a living being, Bastet damn it!
This is nothing more but a 'smash wood and watch things fall' type of physics game, idk why the trailer seemed more than that, maybe I just didn't have the patience to get to later levels - 18 was enough cringing for me. I also got it on sale for half a buck but for all the 'smash wood' games out there for free! on mobile devices, it's not worth even that. They didn't even bother to re-invent the first few levels.
What I could never understand is once I used up one of the 3 types of bonuses but for some reason wanted to reset the level, the bonus did not reset. Seems really unfair, as the first time I used each type of bonus was just to see wtf it does and if it's worth using it in that level. I never found a use for the 'danger' one and I'm not gon keep playin just for that.
Great puzzle game ! The main protagonist is a cute fatty cat who must be bounced off in the cookies jar using physics by breaking wooden bars under him.
The levels become harder with more elements to manage the more you progress in the game. Graphics are sweet and colorful, plus you can see the cat getting deformed when falling down and pressed by his own weight
I would however say maybe it does not worth it at full price but more on sales.
good for people who have cats that need to go on a diet.
Perfect puzzle game >3< ! The main protagonist is a cute fatty chubby cat (>33
That's really fun and easy game. Doesn't require much thinking, it helped me to relax a bit. Some simple physics and cute graphics included ^^
Fun and has some challenges to it. The costumes for Dr. Meow are awesome as well! Loved this game and Dr. Meow!
I really don't think this is a bad game at all. Reminds me of Angry Birds. Just that you are a fat cat and can't slingshot your way to the cookie jar... Get it? cause you're a fat cat. A.K.A. A Fat PV$$Y
I can't launch the game, "Not responding".
Haha, that awesome game! Short, simple game about cat who just wanna get cookies :D In this game pretty gud graphic, fantastic soundtracks/sounds, in game u can see 4 small parts, when u will start part u will see small funny story (comics) about that cat. Summarizing the results Cat on a Diet it's a funny, not obtrusive game. Cat on a Diet it's just MEOWTASTIC!. I RECOMMEND TO ALL! xD
The game won't even load sadly.
not working under windows 10, devs stated in a thread on forums that they will fix it. That statement was 1 year ago from the point of writing this review. freaking joke, refunded!
don't buy this trash
fun game i guess for cat lovers?
fat cat lovers?
I got this game thinking about my cat.
It's fat & doesn't move a lot.
Like this game.
I did not work on a Gamer Notebook with Win10.
Thats the joke.
???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
It won't load? just has a white screen and suddenly says not responding??
??????????????????????????????????????????
Cannot rate the game as it dosn't load I suppose
Not Angry but Hungry Cat! - Cat on a Diet!
Funny cat starring! Very nice game!
Fun and positive. Same kind of the game like Angry Birds or Crazy Penguin Catapult.
There is a cat + fun + cookies!
Lot of different costumes or better to say masks will be available for hero during the progress of game.
+ Easy
+ Fun
+ For any age group
+ Small size on HDD
+ Nice graphics, sounds and atmosphere at all
- I don't know why but on some computers this game doesn't start. (Asus B150M/Intel Core i3/8Gb DDR4 2133Mhz/ Intel HD Graphics / Windows 7 Professional 64bit) When I tried to start game on the some PC's I've just got window with logo in title and nothing loads but cursor. Maybe it's because of integrated graphics but I don't think that Intel HD is not enough for this game.
This game is not bad at all.
It is very cheap and it has definitely borrowed a lot of it's concept from "Cut the Rope"...... but it is not a clone of Cut the Rope. It is a little harder and the way the items are collected by the environment guarantees that if you play it the same way as Cut The Rope you will fail.
I dig this game, and while I would feel ripped if it costs more than 5$, for 49 cents I feel like it was quite a bargain.
If you like active puzzle games this is worth the price of a soda........
The music is kind of annoying, but you can shut it off.......
I recommend.
Good game xaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaxaaxaxa
Incredible Game with unique mechanics. Visually appealing and has a story that you can not forget.
Gameplay: 9
Visuals : 7
Music : 10
Replayability : 7
Would recommend

Fantastic game
I admit, I pruchased this game because of the word 'CAT' in it.
I gave it a try, and it was okay good at first, though I thought it might drive me to finish the puzzles like how Angry Birds is, but it didn't.
All I can say, it's good for just casual play and laughs. Nothing more on my part.
Nice little puzzle game. A good buy, especially when it is on sale.
For my entire life I always did just about every single thing in my life addictively. I always used to try and focus my energy into extreme sports and the like when I was younger. I always used to skateboard, bmx, and yes, even rollerblade for some time. However that lifestyle lended itself heavily to the stoner lifestyle. Alas, my drug of choice quickly changed from weed to painkillers and then I eventually jumped to heroin.
I got clean in 2013 and was into COD Black Ops 2 but that game sucks and I would constantly get made and smash my controller. It just wasn't streamlined enough, idk. Cat on a diet was able to teach me patience, strategy, and teamwork. It has focused my energy when I am alone in a way that nothing else has ever been able to do.
This is a short and sweet post but just wanted to say Thank You Cat on a diet!
Edit: Thanks for all the support again guys! If you are struggling with addiction, just know that there's a whole world on the other side just waiting for you. Also, for those saying I replaced one addiction with another, LOL. Go stick a needle in yr arm and let me know if you thing playing Cat on a diet is the same.
This is a quite good casual game, if you're a hardcore player, you probably won't like it, but if you like games like cut the rope, this is a great game, and I suggest you get it full price, and also, when it's on sale, it costs only 0.49, so if you can't afford it now, buy it on sale.
Coax a fat, squishy cat through a physics puzzle to cupcakes and cookie jars by pushing buttons and breaking things... oh, and poking the cat so he wobbles around ("Suck it in, you can fit through there!"). Also, look for cracks in the walls; Apparently you click them to unlock cosmetics for your cat. It's very cute and silly.
I don't normally play a lot of puzzle games, but this game is adorable and I got it on sale. Certain puzzles are hard, but the rest (for example, all of the anti-gravity puzzles) are very easy. If you get a good score on previous puzzles, you can collect consumable items that help clear the few harder puzzles. I expect initially clearing the game to be brief (it took me 2 hours), but achievment hunting/100% will take more time.
I have only played on Linux via Steamplay/Proton so far; The game misbehaves a bit in fullscreen (there are blank spaces that fail to render) but works flawlessly in windowed mode. Devs, if this game defaulted to windowed mode, I suspect most Linux users would not even notice the bug and take it as-is.
I really want to like this game because I love cats, but it's a really low-effort mobile port. Maybe it's just because I have a 21:9 monitor, but the sides were cut off so I could just see the play area. So when I finished with a level, I didn't know what to click on because the only button I could see was the one in the middle saying "Try Again".
After clicking around the screen I realized that the buttons are there...they're just not visible because of the sides being cut off.
This could easily be fixed even without the need for video settings, which would be great to have as well but aren't here either.
Like I said, it's a low-effort mobile port.
With that out of the way, the game itself is fun for the brief while that I played, but is pretty frustrating to play with a mouse versus a finger.
If you've got a smartphone, I suggest playing it on there for the best experience because in my opinion - especially if you have a 21:9 monitor - this game is not best played on a PC.
A garbage-tier mobile port. That's all that really needs to be said about it but to elaborate, white lines on the sides probably because it was orginally made for a different aspect ratio, no instructions, invisible buttons and no options. Don't buy this piece of crap, even on a sale.
Cat on a diet is, in many ways, a very enjoyable physics puzzler.
The main character is cute and the overall concept (an obese cat who loves cookies) is also cute.
The sound effects fit the mood of the world and there is some variety (or just RNG luck) in how a given puzzle can be solved.
The reason for a negative review is not in the game play itself but rather in the refusal of the developer to correct a very long standing glitch. (The solution to this being hooking up a monitor capable of full HD resolutions or mucking about with resolution settings till you find a set to let you 3 star certain levels -- Attic level 8 being a great example)
This game is coded with higher resolutions in mind. The HUD, specifically the "power-up" icons, are impactable. This means the cat can be blocked by parts of the HUD on lower resolutions--thereby making a given level potentially impossible to get 3 stars on. If you do not get 3 stars in all levels you not only cannot complete all achievements you also cannot gain access to all bonus levels.
This is a glitch which has been present, per various forum posts, since 2017. Clearly the developer simply does not care about the quality of the product as a whole and as such, whilst the game itself is enjoyable the developer is one who should be avoided.
Good game with completionist bugs and a developer who simply will not patch their product.
Not worth a buy.
Game looks like it could be fun, but there's no tutorial or even basic controls explained within the game. I ended up using items that are apparently limited in supply, and now can't advance in the game at all. Uninstall & reinstall doesn't revert back to original, so now this game is useless to me. It's a cheap game, but worth even less i.e. is worthless for me. 0 stars
Unplayable on ultra-wide or multiple screen systems; necessary buttons are completely hidden. No support on this topic from the devs, too. This just sucks.....
I had hoped for a bit of nostalgia in the form of an Incredible Toon Machine-like puzzle game. And being only fifty cents on sale I thought 'hey! I'll try this!'
I had checked the comments and they were a bit mixed, but I had thought the game would actually... yanno.... -work-.
It won't even start. All I get is a white screen when I start it, and looking up how to get it to run doesn't yield any actual results, just a handful of threads that talk about how it -might- be using old drivers or something, but hey, god luck with that.
So.. yeah. If it works, apparently it's great.
Boring puzzle game, doesn't hold my attention, also I hate cats
This is absolutely adorable, but I love cats. I'm having fun playing it when I have a few minutes of time to kill before work.
Rather funny and pointess, but that's the point, isn't it.
To be honest this fat cat can steal you some time, because you start it for "just one puzzle" and suddenly half an hour is gone. But it is no long runner, so it's ok.
Game is unplayable on high-DPI displays, as the screen resolution bugs out and makes the settings menu inaccessible.
I've had an absolute roller coaster ride with this game. I went from hating it because I simply couldn't complete the levels myself, to getting somewhat okay at it and eventually seeing myself all the way through to the end of the main quest, to hating it again trying to unlock all the stars I need in order to get the 80 costumes for the final achievement.
As others have said, some of these things are so precise, and even when you have the right solution, if you don't have enough of your special cheating items (Muffin Magnet is especially important), you won't get all the muffins in order to get 3 Stars on that certain level. So not only do you have to line up your clicks perfectly (you only get so many if you want a perfect score), but you have to activate your specials at exactly the right time, and God forbid you goof up and have to go back to World 1-1 to grind for more cheats.
If you want to do the bare minimum in this game in order to complete all the main storyline levels, I can only recommend it to those who have the patience to push through the unduly high bar of entry, but I can recommend this to absolutely no one who is going into this thinking they'll ever get 100% accomplishments.
For the sake of my own peace of mind, I have to stop at 313 Muffins, 77 costumes and 96% achievements, one of which was unlocked before having actually met the criteria for it, which was "complete all bonus levels". Hey, I'm not complaining - it helps my average.
I love cats but the game play solutions are sometimes based on luck due to the extremely random nature of the physics.
Terrible, Cut The Rope but relies on luck rather than logic and skill. Cut a plank, hope it cuts right an breaks, hope cat bounces the right way restart and repeat on average 20 times before you can get 3 stars. Would rather repeatedly smack my head into a brick wall, way more fun.
Best spent 50 cents of my life!
Cut the Rope except less intuitive, cursor is missing so you have to rely on luck for navigation and luck for if everything will do what you hope it will (boards cut properly, bubble cat moves in the direction you need him to etc). For the 0.50 cents I paid for it it's ok, but I lost interest very quickly as you HAVE to get 3 stars to move on to next round.
I don't know how this game got rated very positive. It seems that you need power ups to solve it, but if you don't solve it the first time, you don't get another power-up unless you stop the game and start over. i can't even solve the third puzzle, yet the statistics say that only 33% have gotten that far. As another reviewer said, this is similar to cut the rope, but it's not fun at all, in my opinion
I remember purchasing this game cuz it has a cat in it.
I can confirm, this game has a cat in it.
In all honesty it's not a very fun puzzle game after you get over the cute cat.
Casual game, possible to finish for anyone.
Appealing graphics overall, with 80 costumes to dress your character in, and the cat's expressions and animations are especially fun, like when he's squished between objects or bounces off a surface.
There are 4 different areas with 24 regular levels each, and then an extra zone with timed bonus levels.
The point is to catch all the muffins (kinda look like cupcakes to me) and go into the cookie jar - without dying or falling on the floor, and with a limited amount of moves - to get 3 stars. You can take as long as you want to complete each challenge, except at Dimension X.
I must add, though: the game is bugged in regards to move count. Sometimes a click and drag counts as 2 clicks for no reason (one when you actually click and another when you let go), making it impossible to finish the level with 3 stars - which you need to get access to the bonus levels. I could never pinpoint a specific solution besides being godly patient and not tableflip, but try to space your clicks as much as possible for it might be that the game can't process a lot of actions at once. All I know is that using other computers, OS's and peripherals didn't work, just as clicking faster or slower or smoother or harsher makes no difference. One specific level it happened on was Laboratory 22, which uses magnets, "explosions" and gravity control.
Also, use your power-ups wisely. You get a maximum of 3 at a time and they don't reset after each level. You have to pass with 3 stars to earn more and it's always a random one. But most levels can be done perfectly without them, so just put your mind to work!
Extra tips:
- Play it on windowed mode. It doesn't support widescreen resolutions like mine (1440p).
- Buy it on sale, and best of luck to you!
The cat is very fat and the game is fun to play.
The game is really sweet.
Nice graphics, good music and sounds, even there is some plot and story and levels are different.
I like the texture of cat, he is like jelly. It is funny and sometimes makes game harder.
It is good timekiller, but on some levels u need to think.
I did not finish all lvls with 3 stars but got fun anyway. And price on sale is really good.
I recommend it.
To my friends on steam:
Yes, I have 6 over hours in this game. Yes, I have 23/30 achievements. Yes, I played through this entire game.
There is nothing more to say.
good game
Bought on sale but I'd recommend it at full price any day of the week. Really fun gameplay, very healthy tutorial/mechanic introduction balance, great music, and getting 3 stars on a level gives simply the most satisfying level completion sound of any video game i've ever played.
Caution to 4k users: You might have some problems where the buttons are un-pressable because they're off-screen; if this happens, you might have to change your desktop's default resolution, as the game didn't handle it correctly for me.
Amusing little physics puzzle game.
Little grindy due to trial and error till
you understand the accurate clicks and cuts for the Fat Cat to fall into the the Jar, thru the various rooms and dozens of stages.
Could proof Hard for some, at some stages, to
ideally pass through acquiring all muffins, as well as minimal actions to obtain Three Stars.
Keep close eyes on every stage for the hint to look for the crack in the background.
Finds the Fat Cat rather cute and
sorry to see it often get squeezed and squished like a sponge.
Noticed some flaws in game generating ' additional clicks ' due to resolutions, bad meshes.
Smooth running,
Low Priced
ideal amount of achievements.
Well worth the Purchase NOW with the huge discount.
I'll be the first to admit that this game feels like it would play better on a tablet or phone, so download Steam Link on your mobile and enjoy. I played it on PC though, and it was still pretty fun.
The graphics are adorable, the music is nice although forgettable, and the puzzles are quick and fun. There are some issues where the physics seem inconsistent and frustrating, but not enough to spoil the experience.
My only big gripe about it is that when you earn powerups, it cycles through them (you always receive a muffin magnet, then a soap bubble, then a hazard shield, repeat) instead of just giving you powerups that you're missing, so if you run out of a single powerup you need to replay a level a minimum of 7 times to get back to max powerups, which is only 3 at a time.
Overall, considering that the game goes on sale for 90% off pretty much every month, there's no reason not to pick this game up if you enjoy physics puzzlers.
fun physics sandbox game, reminds me of Sid & Al's Incredible Toons
The earth is 4.6 billion years old and we managed to exist at the same time as this masterpiece.
Mobile clicker for PC users. It's too cheap for a PC game but is it worth it?
I'm not a fan of mobile games, so "do not recommend". If you like to play those on PC - you are welcome ;).
I can't get past the loading screen.
I can't get past the loading screen.
the main character is fat so i can relate
its an okay game
the costumes are ugly :(
A cute cat physics puzzle game.
The game is not particularly long, it took me 4 hours to complete all the achievements. The levels are not too hard and not too easy and they vary enough that you don't get bored playing them. There are cosmetics hidden in many levels that you can find and put on the cat.
The game is definitely worth the 50 cents I paid for it and I would recommend it to everyone.
8,5/10
A funny simple little puzzle game where you help a fat kitty round up all the snack 'ems. Great for killing time and a fun game for any feline fan.
Good game but needs still improvements
Does not work well in high resolution. Menus not visible. Unplayable.
I guess this is a clone of https://store.steampowered.com/app/223280/Cut_the_Rope/
Cut the Rope is better. Play that first. Only get this is you want more of the same.
Literally unplayable by default on a 2560x1440 screen --- some menu buttons don't appear.
If you open %APPDATA%\CatOnADiet\settings.ini and set fullscreen=0, you can get past that.
The game just plain doesn't work if you have unusual monitor resolution, and even when it does, it's basically a boring mobile game. Not worth your time.
Battle for being fat or not fat. Even my friend struggles.
Silly little game that works perfectly fine even on a slow laptop. Easy to move further, but you have to think a little to get full three stars on every level. Similar to Snail Bob games. You get a power-up every time you score 3 stars and every few levels you discover a new items to dress up your kitty. I bought it on sale and it's definitely worth it, not sure if I would pay full price though.
Fun game for the 75 cents I paid on sale........
However the game wont unlock the last achievement without pure luck, as each puzzle is required 3 stars..... and the game will not reward them no matter how fast, slow, what power-ups are used, or guides followed. If your are chasing a 100% completion, the game will leave you incredibly frustrated and 3% short.
DO NOT BUY THIS
The game doesnt start and the devs keep giving the run around to all the users with the same problem SINCE 2017
FINALLY, after who-knows-how-long, I got this game working on my laptop again. Of course, I wasn't the only one having this issue after seeing the Steam community discussions on this game, so now I took the initiative and got every single achievement in this game, which I shoulda done five years ago, but now I did it.
Anyway, there's really nothing special about this game, what you see is what you get. However, I found the music and sound effects to be kinda grating (the cat literally sounds like a Mario shy guy for whatever reason), and not to mention some of the achievements can be glitched at first glance. But they're definitely possible to unlock. However, I personally suggest against it, as this game is only six hours long.
