City Climber is difficult and time consuming, it is similar to a game like Getting over it. Climbing up with no defined goal, i find this game irritating and not very entertaining, not only that but my laptop struggles to handle it.
This game is not for me and I really want my money back.

This game keeps you wanting more! The controls can be a bit fun to learn, but if you get the "hang" of them you'll breeze right through! I got all but 2 achievements in 1 day! The white backdrop and music are just relaxing enough to keep you sane through your journey as a rag doll expert climber!

I've enjoyed my experience in this game thus far.

It reminds me a lot of I am Bread since they both are humorous game about traversing through an environment with a ragdoll-like protagonist.

It's a little more linear than I am Bread in the sense that there pretty much only one direction to go, but this allows the player to get into a groove where they can just move quickly across the map without having to stop and figure out where they're going.

The only game mechanic I have problems with is electricity. In one of the earlier levels there is a cut cable that will kill you if you touch it while it's sparking. I've found that it only kills you half the time and it seems to work at random. I'm not sure if that's because the game is in 2.5D and I just so happen to its side or what.

My only suggestion is that an option be added that lets you free both of your hands without losing. It would be fun to propel yourself upwards or catch yourself if you start to fall off of a tower.

I can tell the developer really cares about this game and isn't just some hack trying to make a quick buck. I look forward to future updates in the game, as well as future projects from the creator. I think you've really put your best foot forward with this game, great job.

I LOVE IT!

It's just as I imagined:
+ great artstyle
+ great gameplay
+ a little bit of rage here and there
+ interesting levels
+ great sounddesign
+ funny physics
+ inhuman body movemets (my character should have broken his neck a few times already XD)

There's nothing bad about it, no bugs, glitches, whatsoever.

I love this game. I need to use left and right mouse button to climb the walls and I never played a game like this before.

Great Game, as many have said already, it's like a combo of Mount your Friends and I am Bread. I love the fact that this game is done all by one person. It's already more solid then most tripple A games. However, grabbing things in this game is quite annoying. I mean I was stretching for things, the plus sign comes up and I let go of the bumper and he lets the arm fall then I let go with the other hand and bing bada boom I'm at the start again. I think I said "grab it you ****" about 374 times. Also grabbing onto bars and then not being able to reach the next one because you grabbed the other side of it was awkward to deal with

All in all, solid game, love it and I'm glad this guy's body is flexible enough to go through bars.

City Climber is a short but very entertaining physics game. The music is catchy, although loops a little on longer levels and the controls are well implemented, allowing both controller and mouse input depending your preference. I like to use the mouse as it allows precise movement of the arms, left and right mouse buttons control grip for their repsective hands.

The game isn't very long, it currently has 14 levels which are somewhat replayable due to a speed runners leaderboard and also a challenge mode which has 3 challenges spread across 30 stages (3x10). I wouldn't recommend for anyone looking for a lengthy experience but it has allot of charm, is well polished and the controls are allot of fun to grapple with.

There is also a character customiser where you can change the colour of your character and also add various headwear such as pirate hats and spy glasses, these are unlocked as you progress through the game.

There is multiplayer support, the story mode (14 levels) has a co-op mode where two players each control an arm. You need two controllers for this, one can use mouse whilse the other uses a pad. There is also turn based party play where up to four people take turns to plough through the levels in a hope to out pace their friends. It's a nice addition to have multiplayer in the game and it adds some replayability.

All in all I recommend the game, it's cheap and chearful but could benefit from some workshop support.

So, there's good news and bad news. The good news is, it runs great! Even on my crappy laptop it runs perfectly even on the best settings. Bravo on that! However...

Granted, I've stopped before trying level 9. Level 8 was probably one of the more fun levels because of the length, but the ones before it were mediocre at best. But, I noticed that there were only, what, 14 levels? If that is the case, then that makes for one very short game.

My problem is with the controls. The mouse control idea is brilliant, and I found no problem finding something to grab onto which surprised me. When I saw "You can only grab certain things" I thought "Geez, this game is probably linear as heck" and even though you do have a set course to climb, it feels rather free. It's hard to find a good game that achieves that happy medium. But, your little climber guy gets stuck all the time! In the levels where you escape from the hospital it just feels like your arms are glitching all over the place.

I will say that I did enjoy when some things would randomly fall and you would have to find something else to grab, that's a wonderful mechanic that adds a nice challenge. But to me the story just falls short of entertaining.

My suggestion? Tweak level design a bit to add something more complicated to make the levels a bit harder (or add difficulty, even, so we can choose). I gather it may take about an hour, hour and a half to complete the whole story, which is what I expect of a $7 game. But, I'm glad I caught it on sale.

In conclusion, I'm giving this game a good rating, and I wont be getting any kind of refund because I believe in supporting indie developers. However, I feel like with just a bit more effort, this game could be something really awesome to play.

I've just cracked the surface of the game and i already love it, I reccomend it. I'll list pros and cons.

Pros:
-Easy controls, once you get used to it its real fun.
-Nice difficulty curve, Always hard, not super hard that it makes you rage, I have to say it enhances the experience.
-The ragdoll physics, It makes the game harder and more fun to see how much strange positons you can be.
-Pretty good graphics, on best it looks pretty epic, I haven't tried lower.
-Concept, on story you always have to have one hand on solid ground, If you let go, you lose.

Cons:
-Grabbing, I had a few moments where I did grab something and then the game didn't recieve the grab and I lose.
-Tutorial, you have no idea where to go first, your kinda clueless untill you click the story button and play it.

worst game in the world. There is one fatal flaw that makes this game worthless. THE FACT THE YOU ALWAYS HAVE TO GRAB ON TO SOMETHING! I know that's the point of the game, but the the way it works is: if neither of your arms are connected to a ledge, wall, or post, you fail. the game stops you in your tracks and makes you restart. When I bought this game, I expected to be able to swing around freeley in a semi-open world. I didn't expect to move one arm at a time like a game of chess! The multiplayer is even worse. the co-op mode has each player control one arm, which means each player has to sit and wait like ten seconds at a time for the other person to grip something before they can even try. not to mention, the controls are awful. there is also a multiplayer "party" mode where the players once again, take turns falling down some stairs or something. Because the first thing I want to do in a party is watch my friends awkwardly try to move their little noodle of a character around to grip something. don't buy this game unless you want to inflict psychological torture among your friends, who will probably insult you for buying such a terrible game. If the developer is listening, please fix your game, instead of the one at a time rule, add a death barrier on the floor or something so I can maybe try to catch myself, make it a the floor is lava type thing, and make the multiplayer, well, multiplayer. It would be hilarious to have two little noodle guys holding on to each other for dear life whilst dangling over a cliff or tower. This would be one of my favorite game if these features were added. But until they are, DON'T BUY THIS GAME!!! it sucks!

I played the, more family unfriendly, Mount Your Friends, which, in its controls, seemed pretty similar on the surface. Hold a button to activate the movement of a limb and use the joysticks to move those limbs, with this game just removing the ability to use your legs; a perfectly nice concept. However, after playing the first 3 levels, it became infuriating difficult. I got through levels 1 and 2 of the story mode pretty quickly, using my joystick to move the arms upwards and grab at the red rocks. Even loved how some of the rocks and the ladder fell in level 2 (put it in spoilers just in case). Whenever I got to level 3, though, the controls became extremely awkward. With holding down on the joystick not moving the arms towards the ground and having to be touching the object you want to grip to, the level became a giant mess, not to mention the electric wire making you have to time movements . If the controls were better, this level would've been much easier, but due to the game being in a 3D environment, the control scheme doesn't work well for ground crawling, especially with the gripping system.

I feel like if you can get past the control issues I mentioned here, the level design and level quirks are pretty nice. The spoilers contain quirks for levels 2 and 3, and I bet there are a lot more in the later levels. However, I personally feel that, especially for games like this, good controls can make or break the experience. Want a game that can make you rage but still has fun level design? This is a pretty good candidate. Other than that, for the casual gamer, this is a definite not recommended from me.

I got this for $0.99 on a sale, and have had 99 cents worth of fun - and no more. This game is revolutionizing the Pay to Lose genre - you buy it, you lose. There is no replayability whatsoever. Story mode is repetitive (but not overly bad) and the other "gamemodes" are just luck-based with zero timing or skill required. Save your money.

Edit, 11/22/2017: I just nominated this game for the "suspension of disbelief" award. I totally think it is a prime candidate, lol.

This game is completely honest about what it is: a silly and weird physics game.

I view the control scheme as innovative; I haven't seen anything like it, before. As such, it is pretty fiddly and you spend a lot of time swearing at it and struggling to get the other arm to the next grab point.

Even still, I found myself enjoying it. The erratic and nonsensical story and desultory controls both go with the aforementioned "silly and weird" theme.

What you get:
- one of those gross "oh look you are supporting 'Indies.' Go you!" achievements, which is really not needed. I bought this game (at 50% off) because it looked interesting, not out of pity.
- 1 to 2 hours of giggling and swearing your way through the story mode.
- a few "challenges" that seem to be based more on luck than on skill, but are still a neat add-on.
- better value and more interactivity than going to see a movie.

Ted
Ted

Completion State:
Completed all 14 levels and all 10 stages of 2 of 5 challenge areas (3.4 hours, 83% Steam achievements)

Comments:
- Simple physics climbing game with lovely presentation and a fab style.
- Concept is probably better than the execution but it is mostly fun none the less.
- 14 levels within the story mode (with time based leaderboards) and then 5 additional challenges made of 10 stages each on top of these.
- Not sure the challenges so far are that fun but the levels are cool. One or two control nuances make it a little less enjoyable than it ultimately could be. It feels as though in some areas there are not only arbitrarily decided handholds but also arbitrarily decided hands you must use and that can be a little frustrating.
- The challenges feel a little bit too much like random chance will dictate whether you complete it or not rather than ultimately where you position your character (finished on stage 3 of the crazy cart challenge area).
- Cool little thing that I'm glad I tried and will certainly be keeping an eye on further projects from the developer.

I really do not want to recommand this game but the only reason I do not like this game is that it does not have checkpoints within a level. I gave up in 0.3 hours as a slip in my finger reseted the whole progress and I have to do the part where I finally got through after dozens of trials again. It is not fun to play the same portion of the level over and over again. The only reason I am still recommending this game is that the art style and music is awesome for this game. I gave up because I am a terrible player. I really hope devs can added optional checkpoints.

Despite an interesting concept, pretty graphics, and some clever level design, the gameplay itself is extremely shallow and repetitive, and did not even hold my interest long enough to finish the very short story mode. The gameplay consists entirely of grabbing handholds, with the difficulty coming mainly from the fact that you must be holding on to something with at least one hand at all times. The game throws a couple of curveballs at you, such as handholds that detach when you grab them and electrified hazards, but the former are trivially easy to avoid falling victim to once you know about them, and the latter show up rarely and don't require much effort to circumvent. The only other shakeups that appear in the story mode, such as zero gravity levels, are purely superficial and have no impact on the gameplay whatsoever.

The gameplay might have been more interesting if you were actually able to manuever in 3D. In practice, the game is basically a sidescroller, meaning that you don't have very much, if any, freedom to climb creatively or play outside the box.

After playing this for a little I can see why some would enjoy this. Not me though, And anyone else who hates the idea of getting stuck behind objects, bad mechanics and Really loud music.

The basis of this game is, you are thrown into a strange but amusing scenerio that you have to climb or crawl your way out of, with only your two hands being controlable, And then being thrown into a slighty harder/longer level then before. This sounds fun and reminisent of games like I Am Bread, or similar titles but this just does it poorly. Your two hands are constantly getting stuck on various objects and even inside yourself and due to the lack of camera controls this makes it very hard to get unstuck.

The grabbing system is also rather dodgy. There have been multiple times where I have went to grab something and at the last second it changes, therefore making me fail or have to climb again. You could say this adds gameplay value, which is does, but it just is so repetitive and tedious. This combined with your hands getting stuck in everything totally ruins it.

The mouse controls are very strange aswell. It's not that they are Bad it's just that they are strange, as in it's quite hard to actually make them go where you want them to and with the entire game based on hand movements it is much less fun and enjoyable then it could be.

There is some form of story but it really doesn't matter. You do get different characters as you go on, but they aren't very varied. There is also a leaderboard system which for me was a nice touch.

I will not refund the game as it was made by a single dev, therefore he does have my respect and his idea for this game is a solid one, It just needs some work.

EDIT
I did get to level 6, so I was not just on the tutorial levels. The tutorial levels are done nicely and aren't in your face like some games. But this doesnt't redeem it for the rest.

I should also mention this was solely on solo. I was planning on playing co-op but I decided against it after my initail experience.

RESPONSE TO DEV
Firstly I would like to thank the developer for being mature and listening to the feedback given. This is rare with indie developers. Secondly I must apologize as I didn't mention you could lower the music and sound effects, I must've forgotten to check - oversight on my side.

Secondly I tried changing the sensitivity around a bit, but this didn't change the difficulty of just pointing my arms where I wanted them to go.

Once again I would like to applaud this developer as even though I didn't enjoy the game, he is listening to feedback and critisism, rather then just ignoring it.

Despite being good at this game (Consistantly in the top 100 on the leaderboard) I couldn't find this game as replayable. It has a fun mechanic similar to Grow Home but wasn't reliable for me to enjoy it. Your inputs always feel like they are fighting a random lateral force aswell with gravity and in levels like 'train' your grips seem to just fall off. If this game didnt restart when you lost a grip but instead let you fall and you have to either use the built in reset or catch yourself it would be much more enjoyable. Also the story is wack, you wake up half the time in a perdicament and you have to climb. It also eds with a ' It was all a dream' sh*t. Doesnt really hurt it too bad because nobody bought this game for the story, but a good/funny story would have made it a better experince.

TL;DR Its a good game for a guy who made this alone and with no budget but not a good game for $6.99 or in my case $2.79. A better spend would be on 'Grow Home' a fantastic game that offers better mechanics, an enjoyable character and story, 20x more playtime, Music that you don't hurry to figure out how to mute, jetpacks, and a sequel.

Got this game a while ago on steam. it's fun to play and it looks great. The physics work really well and there are loads of levels. I will revisit this game in the future to see if anything has changed from when I last played it. Also, the fact that one guy made this game is amazing.

I looked through some of the reviews and I can see why people dislike it. I haven't played the game in a while so some of my criticism migth have been fixed. But anyway, most people say that the gameplay is repetitive and frustrating and I think that the Game design makes up for the Gameplay being kind of repetitive, but I completely agree that it is frustrating, which is why I couldn't bring myself to replay it. However, that doesn't mean that it is not worth playing and when you do finish a stage of the game, you feel proud and motivated to play the next stage. The ideas are good and it is fun to play, but the replay value is very low (for me atleast). I do want to say that sometimes you get stuck on certain objects and that can be frustrating.
My final point is that the game is totally worth playing (especially for it's low price), but you can expect to have a low amount of time that you spend in the game.
An Idea for improvement is something I saw in another review: a more open map with a dozen of ways to get to the end. This might improve the replay value which for me is the biggest problem.

Shadow B

It's like a 2D version of I Am Bread. It looks 3D but the character can only move in a plane, which means that the levels are much more linear.
You can hold onto things with your arms, but if you let go of both arms at once (that is, if you are not holding anything), then you "die" and have to restart the level, even if you are only crawling on the floor (this is part of the tutorial actually). This means no launching yourself upward and stuff.
Together these 2 things make the game much more boring than similar games, and the short levels don't help. Took me about an hour to beat. There are some extra challenges but there is too much random chance involved, they aren't really fun.
The controls are pretty imprecise; it seems that the game isn't optimized for a controller. They seem to snap to 8 directions, and are quite unresponsive.
Overall it's a meh game, not horrible or even bad really but there are better options out there I think.

For a one man-made game, pretty well done.
Doesn't crash, requires thinking and perfect timing (you sometimes are a centimeter too short if you don't plan your moves correctly).

Do you get a laugh out of ragdoll physics? This game will make give you a lot of chuckles. Use a controller to move hands up, one at a time, toward hand-holds, but watch out for unstable boards, loose ladder rungs, and electric wires. The level designs in the campaign are funny, there are lots of extra levels, and the developer has a great sense of humor about the level design. It ran great on ubuntu linux 16.04 with radeon mesa drivers.

The developer recommends turning the control sensitivity to minimum. I agree. It can get frustrating to deal with the flailing arms, with little sense of control. You will need patience, but I recommend this game. Do not buy for co-op or team play, though. I also recommend the game Grow Home, that uses the same game mechanic.

I was playing on an old Mac, but still one that is easily better than the minimum listed standards. I had to change to the minimum graphics standards and a tiny Windowed mode just to get the menu to load. Even then, the controls are so laggy--up to half a second at times--as to make the game completely unplayable. And what I did see wasn't all that great anyway. I bought this game with a two-thirds coupon and still consider it overpriced.

not worth its money. the controls are hard too figure out and you often lose track of which hand is which. also the finish zones are dumb like in the first level, i got to the end but my character cant just move offscreen so i fell. no hate to anyone who likes this or the creator. it could use some tutorial stuff and easier first levels. i like the graphics though :P if i could rate it out of ten i would give it about a... 5. yeah. i am just going to recommend it bcuz it could be good and i dont hate it.

This game has a good conecpt but is poorly executed. The videos make it seem like grabbing things is easy but in reality it can take up to ten seconds to grab one thing and seeing as levels consist of grabbing lots of different holds to climb this can get quite tedious. For a game based on the idea of climbing, and thus movement, there's not a whole lot utilised here. The game overall is extremely unpolished and janky, it feels more like a school project that hardly passed rather than a game worth any amount of money exceeding $5. For a game that seemed to be in the making for a ~year~, it's got very little content to offer and simply lacks any basic enjoyment.

Movement
So considering this is the whole premise of the game, namely climbing, the movement feels like you're trying to control a wet noodle. The game revolves around you climbing an array of different structures to reach your destination, however the climbing is so f*cking janky that a kid having a seizure would be impressed. Considering the game is LITERALLY about climbing and climbing only, they've screwed it up horribly. When trying to control your arms, you feel like you're essentially flailing a gummy worm around with some sticky notes attached. Grabbing any object is this painful experience where you constantly move your mouse back and forth, trying desperately to get your hand to attach instead of flopping around like a fish out of water. The mouse doesn't actually control the hand however, you simply have to move it in the general direction you want your arm to go and pray that it actually latches onto that f*cking rail you've been reaching at for the past two minutes. Grabbing bars and objects is this time consuming agony that won't end until you're ready to rip his head off. The distance between the bars seems small enough, but shoddy controls make what should have been a simple task a complete clusterf*ck of misery. I'm very well aware that the game is supposed to have weird controls, but when it feels like they based the movements off a toddler throwing a tantrum, the game loses it's initial charm.

Everything Else
Generally I'd split this into categories and write what suited respectively, but this game has so little content that I'd be kidding myself if I said it deserved more than two parts. The whole plot, for as far as I could tolerate, revolves around the idea of you being some talented climber who can scale any building. This would be fine, but it quickly degrades into your generic superhero wanna-be fairytale f*ckfest. You decide it would be a terrific idea to just escape your prison cell instead of serving your sentence, and so the tale begins. You end up being hired by the very people who arrested you upon being captured again, because they "Need your skills". Seriously?

As for any other aspects, such as music, well I'll be blunt: I want to cut my f*cking ears off. I despise games that launch with the volume set to earr*pe mode, I'm still clearing blood out of my ears from the ruptured eardrum it gave me. The music itself? It might as well not exist, it's genuinely utter sh*t that serves no purpose other than to send you deaf.

I know that the game was devloped by an indie dev, but that doesn't excuse it for how poorly made it is. Being an indie dev doesn't give you leeway to release garbage and then have the audacity to charge people money for something that wouldn't pass for a demo model. Being an indie dev isn't a way for you to put in the minimal effort and cash in, it's a committment and needs to start being treated as such.

Not for me, may not be for you either.

I got this game surfing the special sales and it looked interesting to try so I gave it a shot.
I only played it 6 minutes and already hated it:

- CONSTANT fog throughout the game, even in menus, like you have cataracts or when your contact lenses are dirty/old and foggy or have eye snot on them fogging your vision. That actually kind of pissed me off that a developer would purposely make everything look foggy due to having a 4k tv. I thought it was common practice, especially with 4k screens out now and being popular, that an artist would want to make their art as crystal clear as possible. For me this was extremely annoying and you can't turn it off.

- Console game pad ONLY! If you like using mouse and keys or don't have a gamepad controller forget it. Gamepad only controls and there's no options to use mouse and keys if you'd want to.

I feel bad because I'd love to support an indie artist but you can't please everyone, and I am not pleased with how this game was made. It's not for me. I wish the dev the best of luck!!

fun versus frustration is this games boundaries. it is just mindless to try and master the controls either kb&m or controller in a way that just works smoothly. everything seems a gamble, sure the gapple has a sound but a color change would assist on muting certainty if i need to play quietly. it looks good and plays fine and uses alot of gpu. it has online but not tried, I made it to the train and will try from there. all you want are the cards, maybe achievements for a game that looked like it was made for the twitch streaming crowd.

Extremely janky movement as there's no real 3d positioning with the hands not to mention butter grip but overall it is challenging and the environments and story are fun (not the ending though). The "story" mode is only a small part of the game and most of it is in the co-op and challenge sections which are quite fun.

I specifically bought this game because it was labeled as having local multiplayer. I've only played in "party mode".

One time one of us got 3 points. Another time one of us got 4 points. We're still not sure exactly how.

Goals were unclear. Controls were unclear. I have no idea what I was supposed to be doing and we all got frustrated and just moved on to something else.

Not sure what to say here. But it's both challenging and relaxing game =)

Pretty fun climbing mechanics which somewhat reminds me "Mount your friends" and nice lvls. Also amazing challenge mode with even more levels. Considering price and amount of content? It's totally win-win game
I recommend it to everyone =)

Picked it up on sale for $1.24 looked like a fun physics climbing game and one of my favourite games ever is human fall flat so as to be expected i was excited. I got into it and must say i was utterly disappointed once i found out you just died if you weren't holding something with one hand constantly, that caused many many deaths that felt solely the games fault, and the fixed camera was awful for such a game, and don't get me started on how boring the levels got i gave up once i got to the 7th level they were linear and static, take any trials game for example the levels are linear but alive they have depth they move and its great design this is awful level design minus the level of detail which was great as well as the graphics but they simply got old and didn't play very nice. if the developer played 20 hours of human fall flat and took inspiration from that, a physics game about progressing through open yet linear level with a single goal. a camera that doesn't make the controls feel awful it would be a good game. but my biggest complaint is the way you die. its like it was made then the developer said to himself "hm how do i punish the player? death. how do you die in a game thats so forgiving?" simply letting go with both hands makes you restart which was extremely frustrating when trying to progress through the game at anything but a snails pace. if that simply wasn't a feature i would recommend this game but the frustration has ruined it for me. but if your like me and get an opportunity to grab it for so cheap i'd say do it just to try it and maybe the developer can take what he learned from this and create something greater that plays nicer and doesn't feel like a bad game rather feeling like a challenge.

also i definitely recommend toying with the graphics settings to make it slightly less harsh on the eyes.

controls are literally unusable, I got terrible input lag and false and unregistered inputs on both controller and mouse and keyboard.

I'm not saying don't buy this game. Its fair price and this is the sort of developer we want to see do well in the Steam Community. The only reason why I am giving this game a thumbs down is because of a "feel" you will get from this game while making your climber reach for the next hold. What do I mean by "feel"? I found myself moving my mouse across my rather large mouse pad to shift my character arm to a higher position. I would have to push it across lift the mouse bring it back down and do it again over and over. There was a resistance to the movement be it a simulation of gravity or wind on the character but the truth is it just left me feeling annoyed. I am not sure how to describe the sensation that sucked the pleasure out of the game but for me, but it existed. If there is a physics engine element that slows the movements of the grabs, I think giving the player the option to activate or deactivate it would improve the game dramatically.

I still suggest buying this game but once you start playing you know exactly what I speak of.

The first thing you will think about this game when you join in is that its just a simple time killer. But it is truly so much more than that. Even the trailer for this game fails to reveal to you ingenious and creative the game play gets. Especially when you get to the monorail scene which i won't describe to avoid spoiling it for others. This is a game that didn't ever get old at any point for me and i severely recommend that you should get it if your looking it over.

Decent game mechanics that seem easy but take a lot more skill than you think. A challenging and frustrating game that makes you wonder why you bought it in the first place. (7/10)

Hundred times better than any other indie games. Great UI and awesome soundtrack. But the control/ gameplay is a bit irresponsive.

Seems to now have bugs. I am randomly being disconnected from what I'm holding and failing levels for no reason.

An interesting curiosity, but fails when it starts to create "hard levels" by doing things like making you climb around in a room full of obstacles you can't see (The Experiment).

I discovered City Climber on Reddit's Game Deals. The developer posted the sale over there. After clicking through I discovered, to my surprise, a game that looked visually appealing and with a well-written 'About This Game' a game that looked to present a healthy challenge.

Without repeating Angelovic's own description, which is apt, the game requires you to use your left and right mouse buttons to grab onto the next ledge to safely navigate each level. This requires increasing amounts of coordination and skill; sometimes at a level that can draw frustration. As someone who uses a computer umpteen hours every day, this is a welcome challenge that put me in my place numerous times.

I am a fan of the different game modes that have been developed into the game. This provides significant amounts of content and is where the game represents value for its price. I can see enthusiasts of the game spending quite a few hours playing through all of the content and then logging even more with its local co-op and turn-based multiplayer modes. I have zero complaints for the single and multiplayer modes. You can even play the game via Steam's Remote Play Together mode so Angelovic has covered as many bases as possible.

The quality featured within the screenshots and the trailer featured on this page are consistent with the game's presentation. Personally, as I mentioned previously, I found the artistic presentation to be quite pleasing on the eye and I was hopeful going into the game that they would mirror with the gameplay. Thankfully, for the most part, they do. There are a few areas that could have been improved a little bit but on the whole, the game is definitely playable and the graphics are as visually appealing while playing as they are as screenshots.

Featurewise, the game has 23 achievements for you to successfully unlock, has Steam trading cards, but the most significant Steam feature for me are the online leaderboards. These types of games are always better when you can compare yourself to your friends and the best players in the world. Personally, I find that they're a gauge to see how skilful (or not) you are. At first, I thought that I was doing poorly but then I looked at my friends list and found that I was doing favourably in comparison and when those are players you respect the skill level of its a nice little confidence booster.

Verdict

If you're reading this review during its sale period (ending on 20 January), the A$1.39 price is entirely worth it for an indie game that has been crafted with love and care. Angelovic has produced a title that he can be really proud of. It's made me download his other game on Steam, the narrative experience The Flood which is free and has a similarly striking visual appearance to this one. His next game ARTIFICIAL arrives later this year and I look forward to it.

Pros

    • Challenging gameplay
    • Visually appealing
    • Good amount of content
    • Singleplayer with local & remote play multiplayer
    • Well integrated Steam features (achievements, cards, leaderboards, remote play)

Cons

    • A couple of places where the backgrounds don't quite marry with the gameplay. Not a big deal as you can still complete the levels

Pretty good game when you get used to the physics, especially worth for the 0.80 euro now. I started enjoying it later while playing it meanwhile classes, it may be hard atfirst but it's pretty cool after. Even tho the train level was a bit harder. But I really liked the game.

Similar to Human Fall flat and Gang Beasts but without the puzzles and fighting, still very entertaining nevertheless.

It's a little funny and challenging physics based game created by fellow game developer from Slovakia so I was really looking forward to play it! The game is about floppy rag-doll climber, who has to save the world by using his climbing abilities. This game can be pretty challenging but also fun to play. I also like that it doesn't only have a simple story mode, but also a challenge mode where you can play several funny levels in a different way.

Game looks really good with nice looking environments and graphics. I also like the music. It's also inexpensive so I definitely recommend it. I had lot of fun!

Not sure if it's because I use a mouse and not a controller, but the controls feel very weird and unreliable... It feels like there are invisible walls everywhere and I'm gonna dig a hole in my mousepad before I find the way out. The character also gets stuck on itself which makes movements slower and buggier, which you just kinda have to deal with (or restart the level totally if you're beyond repair). So basically: it /looks/ fine from an outside perspective, but it feels totally unresponsive and frustrating to use

Thought it's gonna be something like Human: Fall Flat, it's not.

It's jankier than I expected, I only lasted a few minutes before I decided I was done with my hands and body clipping through the level.

You can't control the camera you just control the arms with both mouse buttons so there's no depth perception to where you're actually aiming, you gotta release the button when it displays an (+).

You can't even do any jumps really. once you release both arms you immediately lose, even in a level where you're crawling on the ground.

I got it for 90% off for 1$ and regret it.
