REVIEW

Build Lands is a casual building puzzle game.

There is no setup story for the game. All of the puzzles deal with trying to recreate a land mass from the original picture displayed by placing brick tiles in the locations one layer at a time.

The game is not complicated and maps can be finished with ease by referencing the in-game builder picture to see what you need to place and where. Play time is ~7-9 hours to complete the campaign and ~8-10 hours to get all achievements. There are a total of 44 build puzzles to solve. The rest of the achievements are in the map builder section. There is some replayability as you can come back and play other’s custom builds. I recommend this game to anyone that likes casual games or is an achievement hunter.

It's fun. I don't do puzzles I just freebuild.
The editor works great but you are limited to fairly small worlds
and a decent amount of bricks and stuff but I'd like to see more.
If this was expanded with animations, path finding etc..you know game stuff
it could be a lot more than it is. But for now it scratches the itch for a casual building experience.

Achievement Hunting Rating 3/5
The achievements are not hard to complete but the mechanics of this "Game" are not fun at all. Maybe if you really enjoy the tedious placement of block building akin to Minecraft, and only that mechanic, you might find it relaxing. I did not. Also many times the only noticeable difference to see what block was supposed to be placed were small chips in the shape or light shades of grey on black stone. I would not recommend this game.

The game starts out fine, fun little builder that goes row by row. When you finish the first set of Lands that unlocks the creative mode it becomes tedious for the sake of being tedious. If you like cheap building game this is an ok game for that. If you like puzzle games this is an ok game for that. If you like looking at the same looking three blocks putting the wrong block in it's place and having to undo it to click on the next block to see if that block is the same only to be wrong again and finally getting the right block for that ONE block only to have to do it again and again for a crazy amount of time to finish ONE puzzle then this is the PERFECT game for you.

Very relaxing game to play. Plenty of opportunity for creativity. A couple kinks to work out but the devs are active and listening to feedback.

A very relaxing game, you have to build nice and beautiful levels and you can play as a "builder" mode - without time pressure or similar features - or an online one with a level editor.
I really liked it and I'm looking forward to the next updates in early access.

A game that while fun and relaxing, allowing you to assemble pre-created islands, also allows you to activate your creativity and build your own islands to share with the community. With a beautiful look and relaxing music, I highly recommend this game. Congratulations developers.

It's fine for what it is. It wasn't what I was hoping for.
-When building puzzles, you don't place the flowers or decorations, only the ground blocks. I was hoping it would be all of the pieces.
-The UI is a bit rough for a casual experience. What goes where isn't clearly labelled. The main menu itself is an unassuming hexagon.
-The keybinds don't seem handle everything. I wanted a way to toggle the map layers through the keyboard, and couldn't find one. I managed to stumble on something once to go up and down, but never to open the map layer — and it's pretty critical to building, so I'm not sure why it's ever closed. It would make more sense to have a "hide UI" feature for vanity than to force a player to open the menu for critical information.

Very relaxing and a great way to spend any spare time. I can't wait to see any future content the developers of this game bring out. I would love to see animated blocks such as people or animals!
