Bottom Line Upfront: If you already like Neptunia, 8/10

If you are a fan of Neptunia, you know what you're in for and this is more of it story wise.
The jokes, voice acting is all there and is as good as its every been.
The game looks really good and the characters look great, with good fan service on all of them as well.
The winged fantasy versions of the goddess forms were particularly cool for me.

I would however not get it for the combat. The attacks are floaty, the optimal strats arent particularly engaging, you can't easily swap characters in combat, and your companion AI is brain dead and cannot be relied on to do anything.

That being said however, the combat is not so bad as it makes the game unplayable if you are here for the Nep story. The characters look good and have carefuly and lovingly crafted animations, both attack and walking, and the areas actually look nice. So even tho the combat isnt strong, if you're here for the rest, it won't stand in your way either.

Two ratings overall them
If you like Neptunia games/story: 8/10
If you don't like Neptunia at all: 4/10

Like all Neptunia games, i will update the review while i play:

The best hyperdimension neptunia is the Rebirth 1, all other games have some issues...
The most common of all are the lack of voice acting
This game have all line voice acted, for what i have seen so far but the chararacters during the voice acting dont have so many expressions like they had before, maybe the game will show more expressions later

Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online was a fun, chill experience. It took me roughly 35-36 hours to clear with all achievements, and is an easy 100%. Even if 90% of my playtime was waiting for it to boot up.

4GO uses an action combat system, and for the most part it's pretty good. My only complaint with the gameplay would be the lack of feedback you get in combat. As a result, it feels like you are fighting against air, since most enemies don't react at all while being attacked. The graphics however, are a big upgrade from other Neptunia titles since it runs on Unreal Engine 4.

I loved all the character redesigns they introduced here. Even though I didn't use her in my playthrough, Noire's Black Knight outift is PEAK fashion. As expected from the cosplayer.
Honestly though, everyone's 4GO outfit looks great! Even the side cast, such as: IF, Compa, and Plutia (my beloved) were redesigned and they all are amazing.

Very cozy experience. Cyberdimension is now tied with Super Neptunia RPG as my favorite nep spin-off title. Would recommend. Play with JP dub for more voiced scenes!

Fun little anime rpg about cute anime girls playing a game based off of themselves. The combat is fun, the characters and story are interesting and I overall had a lot of fun. The game is a little wonky I have to admit in a way that you would just have to see for yourself. Though it's a few years old now I still highly recommend it especially if you are a fan of the series. In my opinion this is the best spinoff of the series so far as I've played.

The game is fun, has good RPG play style. As for overall game play, if you don't like having to grind the same mission multiple times then this isn't your game. It takes a while to get going and get decent loot. All your good weapons and armor will be acquired through mission where as there isn't really much to unlock from loot in the world. I had a good time playing but I Don't feel everyone will have the same experience. Also always buy during sales, never full price.

quentinstyger
quentinstyger

The game is a buggy mess, the team AI may as well be retarded ferrets on meth. Armor doesn't mean anything once you're in the end game because you'll be stacking gems that suck your armor away for extra damage and a combo gem that gives you damage as your combo meter builds and don't worry, bosses will make sure to use enough cheese to make your end game experience trash.
A disappointing PoS.

Right so, this is my first Neptunia game, so I can't compare with previous titles in the series. I'm going to do a quick bullet-point review and then go more in-depth.

Pros

    • Cute
    • Funny at times
    • Cool accessories customization
    • Some of the soundtracks are pretty catchy
    • Gameplay is decent enough

Cons

    • The story makes no sense at times, I guess you're not supposed to take it seriously, but I can't help it
    • The boss fights are lazy, most of them are just the same boss you fought earlier but with a different colour scheme and more HP.
    • The post-game content is really bad compared to the rest of the game, not sure if I can even call it "content", it's more like filler stuff

Meh

    • A few of the side visual-novel scenes have no voice acting
    • The game does not tell you when you unlock new skills
    • A few quests (mainly within the post-game quests) do not tell you which dungeon you have to go to, so you have to pull up the wiki to know where to go
    • You need to constantly check the guild to check if there are new quests and to report that you've completed quests, the story does not progress otherwise

Before I go into the details, I wanted to give a few handy tips and info, but I found out at the time of writing this review that there's this really complete and helpful guide: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1315645278
It's particularly useful if you want to finish the game at 100% because guessing what you have to do by yourself is not exactly easy :)

What you should expect

A quick look at my achievements showed some very interesting stats, out of all the players who own the game:

    • ~90% launched the game at least once
    • ~57% (oof) Finished the first main story quest (which is like 1-2 hours in), that's one of the highest drop rates I've ever seen, especially so early in the game
    • ~21% Finished the main story

Because of the very high drop rate at the beginning of the game, I feel like I should make sure you know what you're getting into: This game is an action-RPG that roleplays as an MMO with decent gameplay but mostly uninteresting boss fights and where 99% of the cutscenes are visual-novel scenes (and there is quite a lot)

The post-game content

The post-game content is bad, uninspired, tedious, generally not fun and is hardly worth it. Here is what you get from the post-game content:

    • A few extra visual-novel scenes
    • A few better accessories
    • Materials for the best equipment of the game that you probably won't ever get to use because by the time you get these materials you've already finished the post-game content

Seriously, the post-game content is grindy as heck, it's only boss fights you've already seen but with a different colour scheme and more HP. When you think you're done with all the annoying quests, new quests appear that are even more annoying.

The game up to the end of the story is generally fun, but as for the post-game, I don't recommend bothering with it unless you want to finish the game at 100% or if you have friends to play with.

If you like the Neptunia series you will like this game. Fun with real time action and not too much grind in a Neptunia game. The story is interesting albeit a bit of a headache thinking you're playing as an anime girl in a game playing an anime girl in a game. With the large amount of cameos and lackluster gameplay I would however not recommend 4GO to any non-neptunia fans, you are better off playing the main games to start with.

The gameplay is fine up until the bosses start getting more mechanics. The companion AI is quite dumb and will often get caught in attacks that will one-hit, or not use abilities (such as healing) at opportune times. However you can't play without the companions as that would turn the bossfights into even more of a slog since the bosses have deep healthpools.

My favourite combat and intro movie in the series. hint rebinding buttons makes the game a lot easier on the keyboard. to rebind hit K while hovering over the button you want to rebind then hit the key you want to rebind
it to. I switched the item search/exit stage from L to E, Jump form K to space bar and awakening From J to F.
Hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

Very fun game. Good design, combat works smoothly for the most part but can be clunky. Visual design is great, the costumes look amazing, the writing is nice but nothing outstanding, the game has a good length, i spent a couple hours idle while i was gone so a playthrough probably takes one around 20-24h which is a good length.
Overall a really fun time with this game.
My major problem with this game is the half assed online component, it works so bad it might as well not have existed in the first place, i appreciate the attempt though.

I had high hopes for this JRPG but co-op playability limited for 8-10 quests. I played Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 many years ago and i thought i could give a shot; sadly all you do is clearing same dungeon over and over again. Even tho i ve played many MMORPGs i never get bored most of them. Also i couldn't see any "story" in it and couldn't have chance to request for a refund because of 2 hours restriction. Well, the game made me watch openning 2 times did the tutorial etc. When i realized, "Dude there is nothing to do in this game." it was already over 3 hours. Tried to enjoy it now im back to League of Legends game. Thank you IDEAFACTORY for showing me there is more boring than LoL.

This is the first time I’ve tried to do a proper review, so bear with me here, sorry if it’s really long >_< If you want a conclusion on how I feel head to the bottom!

Visuals: 9/10
For Neptunia, it’s by far the best game in the franchise in regards to how beautiful it is, which granted isn’t a lot to go off about, considering the other games in the franchise, but still great! Colours are vibrant and eye popping, giving depth to characters and environments on-screen. However one gripe I do have is how backgrounds in dungeons in the distance are blurry, which can be distracting and doesn’t contrast all that well with everything else on-screen. And finally the artwork is absolutely beautiful! Illustrations draw with care and appeals to the eyes (and more ;) with fan service littered throughout!

Soundtrack: 7/10
This game really does have some bops! Varying from relaxing music you could doze off to to getting up from your chair and literally vibing out (true story, that op is way to good, seriously), there’s something in it for everyone! Sadly... as good as these tracks can be, there’s very little variety in music. What I mean exactly is that there just isn’t a lot of unique OST to begin with, so you’ll be hearing these same few tracks over and over and it’s kind of tiresome, especially with the dungeons themselves, as you’ll be heading to each of them constantly. Overall still pleasant to listen to even if you’ve heard it a billion times!

Characters: 10/10
This is the easiest rating I had to give here. It’s Neptunia for gods sake, what’s not to love? Everyone is bursting with personality and charm! I love seeing each of the girls interacting with one another and the antics that ensue! There’s always a grin of my face as I read and watch em, nep of approval!

Story: 7/10
Easily one of this game’s weakest points, but that’s ok! Here’s why. The story itself is very simple, and driven by quest progression. However, the dialogue is what saves it! With the cast we have, and what we know and love for Neptunia fans, chugging along is worth going forward! Plenty of jokes, 4th wall breaks and interaction and more. Fair warning though, there is an extreme amount of dialogue in this game, which can be a potential turn off for some people, personally, I never skipped past any as it was just so damn enjoyable to read

Gameplay: 9/10
To sum it all up, read dialogue —> get supplies —> go to dungeon —> repeat. Sounds boring right? Not exactly. Combat is simple, yet enjoyable, dialogue, as mentioned before, was fantastic, and farming isn’t too grindy. When it comes to character min/maxing, this boils down to finding the best possible weapons and armour possible, pairing them with gems to enhance skills and stats, which’ll really help you throughout the game, even though the game isn’t really all that difficult to begin with, which I just wish wasn’t the case. Another gripe if the online multiplayer, to save you the hassle, just don’t. It’s extremely laggy and unbearable.

Overall: 9/10
I just wish this game had more content, I don’t want the ride to end! I had a blast from start to finish, with plenty of laughs, smiles and fun constantly. If you’re a Neptunia fan, this spinoff has plenty of what makes Neptunia as enjoyable as it is, so you’ll feel right at home, and for new comers to the series, I’m sure you’ll fall in love with this games charm! It’s irresistible if I say so myself. I highly recommend checking out this game, you won’t regret it!!!

one of the best neptunia spin off, it have the fun MMO style with all the CPU and sister playable at your hand, each have their own new fun style to play with and with a fun story and gimmicks from all the CPUs trading banter at each others, it's definitely a fun little nep experience to go through~

Playing the turd that is Virtual Stars made me want to go back and play this game again instead. Personally a top 3 Nep game imo, alongside VII and Rebirth 2 as my favorites. Definitely not a perfect game, it's kinda janky and has a lot of bugs, but damn is it enjoyable. Fun combat, great level design (with no reused dungeons for once), fantastic soundtrack, 12 playable characters with all of them being viable (Looking at you again, Virtual Stars), best graphics in any Nep game, and a super lighthearted fun story. Would definitely recommend.

Fun fact: Vega 8 Graphics on a 2200G run this game better than an PS4 pro.
Solid 40 - 75 FPS at even the busiest of times with all sliders set to 3/5.
That outta the way, it's pretty rad; definitely deserves more credit than it gets. (THAT, is how you use a semi-colon Idea Factory International!)
But while the real-time gameplay is superb in its own right, the fact that Best Girl Uzume is here too makes it 10 x infinity points better.
Number grade: 90/100 not perfect, but still amazeballs.
Letter grade: B+/Blanc's boobsize-

Probably the best Neptunia Spinoff thus far in terms of budget and ambition. You're getting completely new assets and systems from the ground up in HD and using UE4; no recycled assets at long last!

However, for another tamsoft action game, I do have to criticize how the combat feels very weightless and floaty. Hits do not feel like they have any real impact, with enemies not reacting. In addition, combat will quickly devolve into button mashing as skills are cool but often times either don't deal enough damage or cost too much SP to spam. Also, why did you guys make new outfits for several characters from previous games to act as NPCs but not be playable, as DLC or otherwise? What a tease!

Overall, a step in the right direction for a good Nep action RPG, although the combat could use a bit more polish. Also, kind of a shame that they couldn't get live2D to work with UE4 for cutscenes but it's no deal breaker; still the same cutelewd Nep neps.

**UPDATE**
Another fundamental flaw I've realized with this game is the oversimplified stats system. Having only a single stat for defense against both physical and magical damage means that the only appeal of magic over physical is in exploiting elemental weaknesses; something which Vert's party elemental buffs makes redundant. Magic skills having a warm up time as well vs physical skills that are executed immediately also makes magic even less appealing (sorry, nepgear). Also, it seems like Uni and Ram were meant to be designed as "DEX" characters as in other traditional RPGs (for gunner/archer and ninja characters) but there is no dex stat, and they're both left with below average STR and very low INT, so there is little point to use either of them as well. These flaws aside, I still stand by highly recommending to this to all neptunia fans who are tired of the same old recycled assets since neptunia MKII and victory on PS3; it really is the best that neptunia has ever looked thus far, with UE4.

Finally played this game, was wating to go down for less than 100 mexican pesos. I understand developers were hesitant since this game uses the Unreal Engine 4. The models are bautiful. the plot is the same as all the other Neptunia games, you have to save your world for some evil, easy.

The gameplay was really dumbed down, most games use a 2 button system, but this one is just 1 button, and you don't even get to make combos, it's just button smashing. As all other neptunia games the fastest way to win a battle it's just spamming abilities.

Still enjoyed, i like to go around and grind for 1 hour in these RPG games.

Yet another trainwreck of a Neptunia spinoff that gets a very undeserved "Very Positive" rating. That's basically three in a row for Neptunia action spinoffs. I'm starting to think the fanbase doesn't really care for getting even a decent game, and would be happy enough just getting whatever has Neptune's gob plastered on the cover. IF/CH can sell this game for 60 bucks, and the general fanbase would be more than willing to pay 80 dollars for it.

Cyberdimension Neptunia: 4 Goddesses Online is an action-based Neptunia spinoff, although dissimilar to Action Unleashed and MegaTag, this game is not a musou/Warriors type game. This means that you're no longer fighting off hordes of brain-dead enemies. Instead, they have innovated by making you fight brain-dead enemies in groups of five. Seriously, the enemy AI hasn't improved from the previous two games, although it was kind of understandable in Action Unleashed and MegaTag because they were, you know, Warriors type games.

The story is... well, it's stupid. It's one of those stories that can only happen if everyone in it has no brain. To give you an idea of how stupid the story can get, there's a time where someone manages to hack the MMO (the story involves the characters beta testing the MMO) and spawn high level enemies in the starting area. The solution? Why, send all the high level players to clear out the enemies, of course! And then there's another time where the main characters are sent to hunt down a cheater... by killing their in-game avatar? Have Idea Factory/Compile Heart's writers ever actually played an online game in their life?

The combat hasn't really improved much, either, in fact, you only have one attack button now, and everything else is special attacks. While they have tried to make combat more involved by giving enemies various elemental weaknesses, you can just ignore them for the most part and just brute force your way through combat with the exception of bosses and Metal Dogoos, who require you to spam elemental skills to break their guard so that you can actually do some damage. The problem with this though, is that combat is extremely static, where you have a guard break phase that involves using whatever elemental attacks you have, then a damage phase where you can no longer use your heavy hitting special attacks because you wasted all your mana spamming elemental attacks. While it is possible to kill bosses without guard breaks, it will make the bossfights take much longer, and trust me, you don't want to be playing this game for any longer than you should.

Part of the problem with the combat is the characters themselves. You can play as the 4 CPUs, their Candidates, and the Angels, but for the most part, they're all very similar in general gameplay. Each one of them is capable of doing elemental damage, and each one of them has highly damaging special attacks. Every character is capable of blocking and parrying, regardless of what archetype they are, meaning that Uni, the Thief, can block and parry just as effectively as Neptune, the Paladin. Ranged characters are redundant because everyone can use ranged elemental attacks, and it's not like it's an advantage to fight from far anyway when the AI is so dumb and/or easily exploited that melee characters won't have a hard time. There is basically zero balancing between the characters. The only exceptions are Neptune and Blanc, who are the only ones who have healing spells.

Also, why is it that when your allies die, it's okay, but when you specifically die, you go back to the main city? I hate games that do this for no reason. At least Dragon's Dogma has a lore reason for why it's acceptable for your teammates to die, but not you. This game has no reason at all. If Blanc dies while I'm playing as her, it's an instant lose, but when the AI is playing as her, it's totally fine for her to die as many time as she pleases. That makes no sense.

And don't get me started on the friendly AI. It's so stupid. And it's not even an endearing kind of stupid like in Dragon's Dogma (and at least in DD, they have moments of brilliance, while 4GO has none). Anyone who says that Cyberpunk 2077 has the dumbest AI should play this game, because the stupidity of the friendly AI in this game will give Cyberpunk AI a run for its money. The friendly AI in this game is so stupid that they can't even jump. They just teleport to where you are when they encounter even the slightest ledge. Don't be surprised when you develop myopia (or if it worsens if you already have it) after playing this game, because whenever your allies teleport to you, they do so with the most obnoxiously bright special effect I've ever seen in my life. It beats out Holy-spamming White Mages in FFXIV.

The AI also regularly runs into enemy attacks, fails to block or dodge, and have no strategy in fights besides "charge and die". You can command them to do general things like saving their SP (so that you can switch to them for damage phases because they're stupid), hang back and play more defensively, or play as aggressively as possible. The commands work for the most part, but only a handful of them are actually useful.

To give a little bit of credit, the dungeons you go through are more interesting than the arenas of Action Unleashed and MegaTag, but to take away that little bit of credit, the dungeons are ultimately just corridors you run through to get to the boss at the end. While that might sound like any dungeon in an MMO, at least an MMO dungeon is interesting to fight through, with minibosses in between and some nice setpieces every now and then to break up the monotony. In 4GO, you just fight regular enemies all the way until the boss room. There's even one dungeon where the developers must have gotten lazy and just placed a bunch of default Unreal Engine assets in a blank hallway. They couldn't be less subtle about how much they don't give a shit.

This game boasts an online feature, meaning you can torture some friends to play this rubbish with you on the world's shittiest netcode. I'm not kidding, the online function is complete arse candle. Think of the worst online experience you've ever had and multiply it by a hundred, and you pretty much get an idea of what it's like to play this game online. Even if you do get an online game going, the multiplayer just boils down to completing a single dungeon and that's your lot. If any of you die in battle, you are immediately removed from the game, unable to rejoin, and whoever remains is just left to continue on their own.

The PC port is a mess, too. I can't run this game at a smooth 60 FPS on medium settings. My PC isn't a beast, boasting only a GTX 1050, but that's way higher than the GTX 960 they're recommending for the "Recommended System Requirements".

This game truly disappointed me. I actually had some hopes for 4GO, but the game fell flat. This is the THIRD action game that the trifecta of Idea Factory, Compile Heart, and Tamsoft have made together. And this is the THIRD time that they made a mediocre action game. You'd think that by the THIRD game, they'd figure something out. I only expected a decent game, nothing too spectacular or game-changing, but I guess even that is too much to hope for.

The graphics are pretty and art never disappoints in Compile Heart Games but the game play is just shallow. I am not amused by the mediocre dialogue and i'm just bored senseless.
Enemies are just sponges and combat as flashy as it is, just isn't fulfilling.

Combat and exploration are ok but nothing exeptional. The story is not really inspired, way below the 3 first neptunia games (which are ranging from excellent to god tier game imo). The story is also too short, i didn't even realize when i was fighting the last story boss. For me it was, oh ok nice boss the story is progresing a little, i might be at 2/3 of the game. But no, no story further, bad ending so mouerf. Red thumb, in conclusion, for a serie which is unable to revive its past success (it makes me so sad :///// )

Alphanaught
Alphanaught

Truly disappointing...

There's so many flaws in this game that is beyond fixing. The load times are tediously long despite the game being installed on an SSD. The game balance is off and it feels very repetitive. The AI is blatantly appalling.

I bought the game thinking that it was a similar game to Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed, but boy I was wrong. My theory is that the devs were experimenting the franchise with Unreal Engine, but I don't think that is necessary because the older version of Neptunia still looks pretty decent on PC. They don't have to use something they're not familiar with.

I haven't tried the multiplayer yet. But judging from the other reviews that I've read, it seems that the multiplayer is totally unplayable. Not recommended even if it's on sale.

RamenLord
RamenLord

different from neptunia games

(this game is really buggy like the AI are not smart and the camera can not turn.)

(also is recommended to play on controller since it doesn't show any keyboard binds on screen and you need to set your own keybinds because the default ones suck)

You need to be a neptunia enjoyer to like this game

+The dungeon crawling is fun. The maps honestly felt unique and jumping between them really did feel different. It is a big big change from the regular neptunia gameplay but that doesn't take any of the fun away. Ye the turn based combat is gone but this game is still feels like a neptunia game.

+The characters are still the same neptunia characters. Black knight Noire is a godsend and will forever be used. All the characters felt fun to use and even tho they all kinda play the same they do feel somewhat unique to use with their animations at least.

+The gameplay loop and grind is fun. It may seem boring to open up the same map and kill the same big metal dogoo over and over but whenever I do kill it and gain a metric ton of xp I just want to go for another round.

+Story was strangely charming. I just wish princess could have been in our party. The girl princess was always with was super annoying tho. It's nice to see a game where all 4 CPUs take the spotlight rather than just Neptune.

+Soundtrack was surprisingly good. The Hestia Crater theme is a bop. All the other tracks are great but I really want to give a shoutout to the Hestia Crater theme. Very hard to find the tracks of this game outside the game so you should definitely enjoy it while playing the game as your odds of coming across it after is slim.

+I enjoyed the grind maxing out the weapons for each of the characters and levelling them and all that jazz. The numbers, as neptunia games go, do not disappoint and are just candy for those who enjoy them.

+I really liked the setting of the 4 CPUs in an mmo. They really played the part to a degree and it was funny to see how they play it. Honestly pretty immersive and with the occasional 4th wall break, this game does not disappoint in this aspect.

+The outside bath achievement.

-Camera controls were awful. When you locked on an opponent and jumped over them the camera just goes ham.

-Don't expect online even if it was marketed for online play

-Mashing the parry button does the same thing as timing it so it didn't feel rewarding

How did I end up this deep into the rabbit hole playing these kinds of spin-offs

It's one of my favorite nep games of all time. Action based combat almost like ys surprisingly. good game to play after a long day of work and has some parts where you just gotta grind for the items or materials but personally a little bit of farming makes the game good.

So, I actually 100% the game on playstation when it came out so please ignore my stats here. This is def one of the better nep spin-offs, it has it's problems for sure like how the multiplayer is pretty much unplayable, but the core game (story, gameplay, music, etc.) is really, really enjoyable.

What... I randomly stumbled upon this, looked at the steam store pictures, read the reviews, and was unfamiliar with Neptunia, then tried it, thinking it was going to be a normal hack and slash anime game...

The game is made for an xbox controller, and everyone's horny in here. You get locked into trying to figure out which keys correspond to which xbox letters, then you realize left and right click are bound to letter buttons aswell, but also some of the keyboard buttons too, then you realize you can't do 50% of the things while rotating the camera because the camera is your mouse movement...

...combine that with characters who get locked into a line with their combos and it becomes a terrible mess.

Oh, and if you noticed the mention of Horny earlier... Yeah. There's a smother-and-nosebleed situation before the tutorial happens, yet that's not hinted at being in the game by any of the reviews I got to see before buying, or the screenshots put up there beside the intro video. I thought this was just going to be a cute anime hacknslash game, I really did.

This game was so buggy. Honestly IF and CH need to just stick with turn based games. I applaud them using Unreal Engine and encourage this over there usual hunk of garbage. The game looks, runs, and feels better in UE4. The story felt fairly typical for a Neptunia spin off (not great, not bad). The mechanics were clearly not well thought out. As long as you can nail every dodge, you can take on anything. However, counter to that last statement, blocks and dodges only seem to register 75% of the time. If you came for multiplayer, look elsewhere. I haven't seen such a terrible implementation since MegaTagmension. Lag, desync, rubber banding, broken animations, broken attacks; This multiplayer has it all. If you can get past all those flaws, it's actually pretty fun. There's nothing like winning a fight against four bosses at once with near perfect precision. That being said, the fact that the ally AI is hot garbage at best, makes it a pain. If my party members went down, I often didn't bother bringing them back because babysitting them took more effort than beating the boss.

It's not a mechanically flawless game, but it's fun, especially for fans of the Neptunia franchise.
Being able to play with your fave characters, in a real time action combat game, is simply amazing, and it doesn't lose the quirky atmosphere Neptunia games have. It has lots of references, and the characters being in an mmo makes them talk even more meta than usual. It's hard to take seriously, but all the playable characters are fun to use, and they are diverse in their combat style, it's also breaks the monotonity that you play as a party of 4 with 3 AI companions, and you can switch between them during combat (even tho you have to open the menu to do so). You can hack&slash your way through enemies, and the next moment switch to a healer and support your AI team.
Item droprates from bosses are terrible, so if you want to max out every piece of gear you obtain it gets grindy, but there are options to boost your drop rates, and you can switch between characters, so it doesn't get too repetitive.
Haven't noticed any game breaking bugs, that would make you want to quit, but there are some exploitable combat mechanics.
The game is fairly long, and sometimes confusing, but once you get the hang of things it goes smoothly.
keyboard and mouse controls are hard to work with if you use the default keybindings, and navigating the menus, until you figure out what does what is a challenge even by itself, but once you figure out how to change keybindings, it's actually pretty comfortable to play with a keyboard and mouse
So if you enjoyed any mainline Neptunia games I recommend that you give this one a try.

It's a fine game when you finally get to the title screen, but it takes a looong time (about 5 minutes) to get past the app's startup screen (which doesn't include the company credits btw). If the long startup time were to be addressed it would make it infinitely better to play, otherwise it kills the replayability to an extent.

I 100 percented this game on ps4 and I'm glad I did since this game takes forever to load and I don't of any method to suspend games and put your pc to sleep and then continue later from where you left off. Of course, I never really tried either but yeah.

Tamsofts best Neptunia spinoff, I'm sure most would agree.

This one is a ARPG and it's made in unreal so yeah you know unreal engine is slowww.

Also no live 2d.

Get for 20-30 bucks.

this game is basically a ragdoll simulator
the only mech is to block or be punished
on top of that the achievement (The Refined Power) is glitched and will not trigger
this problem has existed since 2018 and the developer has never fixed it
this game is stupid easy and the only reason it doesnt have more 100%s is because of this stup glitch
ive played thru this game a second time to make sure i didnt mess up.. and nope wasted an extra 10 hours for nothing
i seriously hope virtual stars isnt as bad as this game
