[6/10 -★★★★★★☆☆☆☆] I wanted to love this game!
TECHNICAL ISSUES PLAGUE THIS GAME!

The main part which is playing the musics is fine

Scoring screen is too slow

The audio crackles once a minute, unforgivable for a Rhythm Game!

WHY VR? it's just a nuisance, seriously!

Even though I select no VR, SteamVR starts, it shouldn't be like this, VR adds NOTHING to the game!

The audio sometimes plays on the HMD instead of Speaker/Headphone.

When selecting through the songs, the previous songs sometimes still plays and worse... it sometimes adds up, having more than 3 songs playing at once in a jumble mess, seriously, no QA at all!

Aesthetics and game direction is amateur at best!

The aesthetics tried too hard to capture the initial Mobile Visuals but it failed in every aspect when transitioning to 3D, if it was a timeless simpler isometric/top down view, it'd be perfect,

Protagonist should be silent, maybe some humming or murmurs, but the generic loli VA, even though I liked her voice, it broke the character, it became annoying to have this anime girl talking instead of an elegant non-verbal communication.

The camera angle is horrid, the size of the room feels cramped, the movement feels sluggish and unresponsive, size radius of interaction to get the items on the ground is bad, seriously, why try too hard on an unpolished mess instead of a simpler and elegant gameplay?

It tried too hard to modernize that it crash landed hard to an already obsolete target, seriously, it should be a timeless isometric/top view angle with simpler mechanics.

Wanna play Deemo? play the mobile version.

Great game with cute scenes and game play. While the 6 Keys game play is weird at first, it becomes a lot more natural with time. Meanwhile the puzzle aspect of the game is just difficult enough to make you think. Love the music and story, pretty happy to watch the story become animated from the mobile game.

OMG! It's beautiful, I fell in love with it so FAST! The game Play is simple as the Mobile version, the Story still respecting the roots ( bad joke I know), Sadly I don't have a VR system for now but it seems like fun.
Story 10/10
Music 10/10
Graphics 9/10
Character Design 8/10
Play Style 8/10 ( some movements seems off or robotic)

I like Rhythm Games, and I like Escape Room Games, This game blends both, that allows me to satisfy my Rhythm Game needs, but also challenge my Escape Room skills. So far, I'm really enjoying the game play, the music is nice, the puzzles are fun. You play music to unlock new rooms and more puzzles, you explore the rooms and solve puzzles to get more music. It's a cycle that I've come to enjoy~

Decent rhythm game and 3D rendition of a mobile game.

Exploration elements are interesting, especially in regards to the few puzzles that dealt with music. Musical score is superb. Gameplay is typical of a rhythm game, but does have the unique aspect of being playable through VR. Minor gripe regarding the song selection being small, even with DLC.

Honestly I love rhythm games and I have played the original Deemo on the phone years ago when it was still new. To be honest I have bought the game 3/4 different times on different devices. First time was on apple, the next time was android. Then I got reborn on android and here on the pc. The music, the art, the story all of it is beautiful. I truly love this game and I have no regrets on purchasing it multiple times. Rayark works with amazing artist and create amazing music. I hope that one day reborn will have as much music as the original one does. If you love this try the other deemo games in the app stores!!! 100/10 would buy again and again

TLDR
enjoyment 2/5 (got old fast)
content 3/5 (decent)
price 0.5/5 (overall not worth)
visuals 5/5
Music 10/5 (Amazing)
Overall 2/5(poor)

So im just going to go down the list here so that you might make a informed Choice of if you should by this, and in doing so address some issues i have with this honestly very Visually pretty game.

Content/enjoyment/price
For its $25 tag, its really more of a question of if you think wandering around is worth the money compared to the app, which is free/ 1.99 on the app store for Android. This is, for all intents and purposes, simply a port to PC from the app. same songs and story and mystery and all. this also means that you not going to do anything in a timely manner (at least in a fun way) unless you buy DLC for 5-6 dollars a pop. you only progress buy playing new songs, and i dont find it fun to play the same song three times 21 plus times just to progress to the end. its very tedious, and makes it hard to enjoy the game. its the same with the app too. you just dont unlock songs in a manner to pace with your game play EVEN when you play every song you get three times+ (once for each difficulty) UNLESS you buy DLC so really this is a very DLC reliant game.
its why im getting a refund. its why i dont recommend this to anyone.

Visuals/Music
Credit where it is due: i really like the soft style of the models and the art style of the world, (minus Deemos eyes, they sort of stick out...literally, and its out of place) the Music, once you grind enough to actually have some, is pretty good and there is a somewhat decent variety.

Overall
NO i wouldnt buy this if you ever played the app. in fact i would just say get the app instead, it is WAY cheaper since you have to buy the DLC anyways, or, if your desperate, Wait for a sale or a freebie, since, again, DLC is pretty much Required if you intend to actually enjoy the songs

Game is meh. Songs collection, gameplay, and storytelling-wise, the mobile version is better. Only played it to support Rayark and to feel the nostalgia.

Absolutely adore this game - deeply comforting and runs great on my laptop. Beautiful soundtrack and story, stunning visuals and caters to the user's choice of play style.

Gameplay is very very fun, the puzzles aren't frustratingly difficult but still challenging. The rhythm part of the game is very forgiving to casual players but offers a good challenge for players that want to 100% the songs.

Definitely 100% reccommend.

I remember playing this game all the time on my iPod touch, first rhythm game I ever played. My only qualm is that I will indefinitely mess up some beautiful musical creations and I am very sorry about it.

(VR Review)

Deemo was a delight to play on a mobile device. The story and the music were lovely, and precisely hitting the notes at the right time felt very rewarding.

The VR world is beautiful and I'm sure the story would be even more touching in this format.

But the gameplay has gone from a piano-like precision on mobile, to awkwardly trying to hit the right part of the "piano" with bizarrely oversized hands that are partly out of my control.

Shademonics

By the end I was bawling my eyes out underneath my VR headset!

Review based solely on VR Gameplay:
What a beautiful, adorable, and elegant game! Truly phenomenal! It has a perfect blend of rhythm game and puzzle adventure so that when your arms get a little tired from playing air piano, you can take a break and do some casual exploration and puzzle solving!

The soundtrack is brilliant! Tons of beautiful and relaxing songs! The rhythm aspect of the game felt very meditative in the motions. The calibration is a bit weak; was difficult to figure out which direction it needed to be tweaked because it felt a bit off before messing with it, IIRC the music was slightly behind the notes. Wish they had a calibration where you just tap the piano to a metronome beat for a few seconds and then it adjusts on it's own rather than manually trying to figure out the adjustments. HOWEVER, it is definitely still playable AND enjoyable! I played this while streaming and still was able to get consistent results in each song (mostly +90% in Easy Mode and +80% in Hard Mode on first tries). It's definitely hard to get All Charming though (perfectly timed notes); I usually came up 8-20 notes short for most Easy Mode songs. You can't fail songs though so even if you play like doodoo, I'm pretty sure it would still progress the story. This makes it a great game for casual players, hardcore players, and everyone in between!

The puzzles were a pleasure! I loved being able to flex some of my music theory knowledge for some of them rather than needing the clues! A small minor complaint about the puzzles though. There was only one puzzle that got me a bit tilted and it was that darn letter blocks puzzle! All the words I came up with were way better than what it wants you to put in, just saying. There were also two others that are really easy to overlook that I ended up having someone look up for me (they were creative puzzles though). So out of the whole game, only one puzzle was a bit of a stinker. The rest I enjoyed!

I did mess around for a little bit with m/k controls thinking it would be easier, but holy cow! It certainly wasn't!

Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this beautiful heartfelt game to any rhythm game enthusiast! One of my favorite VR titles AND rhythm games!!

You play the piano and solve puzzles. The atmosphere in game is charming, mysterious, and sometimes a little creepy. (Pulling back the curtains in a dimly lit room makes you expect a jump scare, but there aren’t any.) I finished the game in only a couple days, but I loved every minute of it. I still come back to play the songs again and again. Never thought I’d be interested in a rhythm game. Perhaps I only learned to like piano mode because I loved the rest of the game so much, but it’s fun.

The one issue with this game is that there is an unnecessary depth of field effect that will hurt your eyes. There is no reason to have it there. There is no way to disable it, either. Despite this, I still recommend this game. Deemo is a good experience.

Finally reached the Epilogue!!! Playing this game again on PC for the story! Super love the upgrade on the puzzles to unlock the story as it gives the original story more depth! Gameplay was kinda hard though as Deemo is a touchscreen mobile game and my fingers find it hard to adapt to pressing selected keys to hit the charming notes (which I failed miserably) Nevertheless, this game is one of my top rhythm games :)

The original DEEMO is among the best rhythm games out there, and dare I say among the best mobile games period, so I was intrigued to find out how Rayark was going to translate the experience onto PC. The result: a satisfying adventure with plenty of content to keep you coming back for more. (I didn't play in VR, so I can't speak on its behalf; this review was written for just the standard mode.)

Reborn is a reimagining of the classic DEEMO story in full 3D, featuring a new exploration mode that has you solving puzzles to unlock new songs. I found this section of the game to be a mixed bag; quite a few of the puzzles have rather obtuse solutions and became downright frustrating on occasion, but the potential rewards made me want to push through and complete them. The controls are a little clunky on keyboard, as the buttons for certain mechanics can feel awkward and confusing at times. Playing on a gamepad is better, but it doesn't make the puzzles much easier to solve. I admit to using a walkthrough for hints on solving some of the less straightforward challenges. Still, I had fun trying to track down every last piece of sheet music, and the story remains as captivating and emotional as ever.

Gameplay for the rhythm section is different from the original mobile version, with the notes being broken up into six lanes, similar to games like beatmania and DJMAX. Each lane corresponds to a button on a controller or a key on a keyboard; slides are handled by either holding down the spacebar or holding the stick(s) in a particular direction. I found the controller mode more challenging but quite enjoyable, as it seems the charts were designed with controller play in mind. The base game has 66 songs total, almost all of which need to be unlocked through the exploration mode; the Complete Edition (which I bought) includes the first four DLC packs, bringing the total up to 122 songs. Your song choices are very limited at the start, so I found it helpful to have those extra songs for when I got tired of playing the same three songs over and over again. The soundtracks are a nice bonus, too; definitely worth the price if you're a DEEMO superfan.

Overall, the story, presentation, and graphics of Reborn are all phenomenal; some of the puzzles I had issues with, but they still make for a wonderful game in the end. The rhythm portion is a lot of fun, with multiple difficulties for players of all skill levels. DEEMO Reborn is a wonderfully charming game, and I find myself coming back to it again and again.

Bloodpix
Bloodpix

A sincere MARVELING JOY of a game. I began playing the phone app version of Deemo back in my first year of college, which was 2015. I played it a so much and I was convincing a lot of my classmates to get the game as well. Unfortunately, I had to get a new phone the next year since mine had broken. However, I was given a Pixel and not an Apple, so I wasn't able to retain any of my things including my entirely bought DLC version of Deemo. I was heartbroken. I reinstalled the game but I lacked the funds and time to really put into it again.
Then, one day, this game showed up in my queue. My heart dropped. I set that sucker to pre-order and I have been NOTHING but pleased. There are a few ups and downs, but I don't have 74 hours just to talk trash. I'm EXTREMELY pleased.
Problems? :
1. The girl looks weird in 3D. I'll lay that down. Like a cute paralysis demon.
2. Even with all the currently available DLC (via the time of this review) there isn't the song Black Case from the original. This is a crime.
3. I struggled with the lantern part for the dumbest of reasons. Don't let that slow you down though!
4. Getting all the unlockables to get the final FINAL collection achievement are kinda painful.
5. While for others it is a simple task, getting 20/50 songs on perfect is a tough call. I'm essentially a masochist since I'm an achievement hunter, but I am dedicating a LOT of time to ensuring every single song on all the difficulties is 80%+ completion. But otherwise, a sort of difficult achievement to get. Not impossible mind you, but some people would likely be off put.
Pleasures! :
1. The puzzles are refreshing! They're not impossible, but a few get your head turning. The environment puzzles were quite enjoyable.
2. Bless my tall boy. Bless him. I adore him.
3. The STORY!! The fact that they include the old story in a unlockable sequence reel is already adorable. Then, on top of that, it proves my theory that I had about the sister and brother having been in an accident, the sister surviving and being in like a coma or something. The brothers soul/memory persists, striving his sister to persevere against herself. If I hadn't been streaming with friends screwing around I would've been sobbing.
4. The art style is beautiful, save the girls 3D. I love being able to walk around the environments I'd seen as a 3D image and really in depth peruse them!

Changing from phone to PC is a TAD jarring, but I've found ways around it. I've set all the yellow-tie notes to - and I keep a stack of cards balanced atop it to handle them all. Otherwise, my fingers cramp by the 3rd song and I want to do this for HOURS on end.
[b] I cannot recommend this game enough. If you like puzzle games, a deep story, precious moments, and a easy-impossibly difficult piano game? You've found it. Welcome.

What a beautiful game, I definitely prefer Reborn to the original DEEMO even though some of the MILI songs I loved from that version aren't in this I can forgive it for the addition of some very clever puzzles and a heartbreaking story, even though I figured out most of the ending from clues throughout the game it didn't make it any less sad. The song charts are well laid out and I didn't have any issues with the timing of the notes though there is a steep difficulty curve between hard and the other difficulties. If you like rhythm games I definitely recommend this.

VR mode is really good in the rhythm game sections, although kind of difficult to use in some of the puzzles. All the music is pretty good. Although I do have all DLC on DEEMO on mobile, I do like to pull some shenanigans now and then. Especially when I used my MIDI keyboard to play the game using Midikey2Key.

1 hour.
I will keep reporting back as spend more time with this game.

background.. I played classical music for a couple of years and I enjoy musical/narrative games.

I'm trying to grove to your music even if I stink but the musical tempo gets disrupted by the stories magical effects. an example is the winds/ whispering effects during song 1 dream. Its louder then the music.

1 day
you get used to with practice the sounds interrupting your thoughts and begin to focus less on the single note and more on the flow. I am still clumsy.
The story seems to have taken off. Practice every song on all versions helps.

day 3

If you unfocus your eyes and relax your shoulder while practicing good back and typing posture it gets alittle easier, also I suggest a light source, unless your can game uninterrupted for longer then 10 mins, I cannot, so a lamp has helped me reset my hands WHEN A DISTRACTION HAPPENS.

also.. DON’T GIVE UP!

day 5

story is in-dpeth, sometimes it feels like your missing a piece, just read the save state and loading area hints. Their helpful.

postive
-nice visuals
-reinforced learning
-songs are prety decent.
-puzzles start appearing pretty quickly.
-allot done in a small space.

negative
-no jam mode
-calibration is slightly off.
-no multiplayer sillyness.
-I might have two let hands.

One of the most fun VR games i have played yet! Works great with Valve index - some oddities to get it going.
1. Need to have the little steam VR box minimized prior to start up of game or the controls wornt work.
2. once started to "Set your position" you just hit a joysick or the touch pad for 2 seconds.
3: the 2 b's are your 2 main menus

Otherwise everything worked perfect and i love the game.

I bought this because I was expecting that there will be a Wings of Piano, but apparently there's none and I am quite a bit disappointed since that's one of my FAVE songs from Deemo. But that doesn't make Deemo seem less. It just feels incomplete without it. Overall, Deemo is still a great game with amazing graphics and songs and I love how it is very interactive compared to the mobile game.

It's hard to get used to the the keys for this game :<

- If you love/like Story, Puzzle, and Rhythm games

Reasons to Not Buy:
- If you love story and puzzle games, but hate rhythm games (Vice Versa)

Beautiful piano music along side a fun rhythm game with a wonderful story. This is one of me personal favorite rhythm games I have ever played next to Beat saber, cytus, and BPM, and i've been playing it since it was mobile exclusive. Definitely DO NOT take my review as a "Hey buy this game it's worth it!" but if you love piano music and like rhythm games, I would say give it a try when it's on sale, or don't (I'm not you). 10/10 in my eyes but I'm just some random guy in a steam review lol.

This game is wonderful. I haven't played the original Deemo on mobile so I can't say which one is better, but I definitely enjoyed this one. The game includes a touching story and plenty of fun puzzles, as well as the rhythm element the game is known for. It took me about a week to complete the story and another day or two to 100% all the puzzles. However, this game has essentially infinite playability because of all of the song maps included. I did get this game on sale and most of the available DLC packs came with it, so there are probably at least a hundred songs. You can change the scroll speed, key and background music volume, and the background for each song. Overall, I'd say it's definitely worth the price if you enjoy rhythm games.

This game still doesn't have Valve Index support and hasn't had an update since the last DLC a year ago. It's abandoned by the devs.

It launches SteamVR whether you're playing in VR mode or desktop mode.

And on top of that - it's just not fun. They couldn't find a way to make a VR rhythm game fun. That's ... that's a little embarrassing. With properly fun VR rhythm games like Synth Riders, Pistol Whip, and more, why couldn't a game with this charming art style offer anything other than "charming art until you alt-F4" to players?

Skip it.

I first played DEEMO as the mobile game on an iPad. Some of the puzzles on the mobile version were limited, so it was amazing to see that more potential was achieved in the PC version. I was sad to realize is that not all of the songs from the mobile version made it to the PC version though. Now, the only two things I did not like was that they spoiled the big revel in this version and I did not like that they changed the last song to something less emotional and a recap of the story.

This Game was something i picked up after remembering my sister playing the original. I didn't know any of the story or ever played it until now. The game play is really good the rythem game aspect is don great and the puzzle's though hard are almost always fair I can only think of two exceptions. The story was great it was executed and paced greatly. (I never played VR mode so idk if its good or not.)

This is a bit of a struggle because the blend of rhythm game and adventure game is certainly *interesting* but I find the former interferes with the latter in such a way that it creates a game that's actually slightly less than the sum of its parts.

Not that I mind the rhythm game being more focal to be problematic, I love music games, but I also like adventure games and it's sort of obnoxious that the game loves to present abstract mechanisms to the player in rooms leaving you to play the guessing game of "can I solve this right now or do I need information from rooms I can't access yet due to needing to play more of the rhythm game" and it's the latter with way more frequency than you'd expect. I think progress via music game is gated via puzzle exactly once so it's not exactly an even blend.

On the rhythm side of things, the options are generally robust, the original music is great and the game's vibe is distinct and Charming which earns it a lot of favour from me. What is kind of weaksauce is that slide notes have been ported by having you hold spacebar to hit them regardless of where they're going which is OK.

...except for the part where there's not even any timing on this so you can just tape the spacebar down and all slides notes will hit themselves. That's lame, man.

More pettily, Charming hits and slightly less Charming hits (accuracy) is indicated by an orange glow and a Slightly Different Orange Glow which is basically impossible to parse apart in the middle of the gameplay so good luck figuring out where you dropped accuracy without a video playback. It's also bizarre how Deemo only shows Charming Hits and your maximum achieved combo and not like, the number of notes hit, or how accurate each note hit was?? Puzzling lack of data here.

Overall, I think I want to be kind to it anyway because the vibe *is* immaculate and both sides of the game are reasonably polished and the blend is unique, there's nothing quite like Deemo. There's definitely things to enjoy, as I did. But there's also much room for improvement on this concept. Some wrong notes, but an enjoyable performance.

There really isn't much to say. This game is a beautiful mix of atmosphere and story, all put into a game that mixes rhythm, exploration, and puzzle altogether.

it's a game that mixes rhythm, puzzle, and exploration where you take on the role as Alice, as your task is to uncover the secrets of a castle you unknowingly come into as you try to find your way back home.

with a beautiful world set behind a mysterious yet somewhat sad story, interesting puzzles and areas to explore, characters that have their own personality and have their separate parts within the story, and an amazing soundtrack, this game is definitely worth it's price with a hefty amount of replayability.

My only gripe about this game though is that it has quite a fair amount of performance issues apart from the initial ps4 release, mainly random frame stuttering, but other than that it's a well made game

Is it just me who finds the mechanics of piano game wacky asf?? (Maybe I'm just hella bad at 6 keys) Either way I don't give a damn if I bought all dlc and the game because I love Rayark. They make incredible games so I'm more than happy to support my favourite video game company.

---{My thoughts }---
As someone that does play rhythm games, I think that if you are someone who likes/wants to try rhythm games then this game is perfect for you. I love rhythm games and DEEMO -Reborn- has some pretty darn fun to it. The soundtrack is great, a large selections of songs that you slowly unlock as you progress the game. It's great as this is a perfect game for rhythm game beginners can easily learn from, because of its easier difficulties. As this game is priced at £19.49 for the standard version, I would recommend waiting for a sale and as the time that I am making a review, the game is -40% for the price of £11.69. The game has barely any lag or glitches, the graphics are stunning, the soundtrack is calming and beautiful. DEEMO -Reborn- is a very fun game and its perfect for the rhythm game genre. I would highly recommend this for people to play. Oh lord this taking forever to makeee. ANYWAYS, hopefully you find this helpful and play the game.

I have og Deemo on both android and ios. So this is my third time purchasing Deemo.
Compare to og Deemo, deemo reborn adds beautiful 3d environments with interesting puzzles in it. Characters are also 3Dlized, high quality models, very cute looking and very well animated. To my surprise, characters have a lot of different animations, I mean A LOT. Every action you do, there is an unique animation to it.
There are quite a lot puzzles in the game. Every puzzle is unique, and quite creative. You are not required to solve any puzzle, solving them unlock songs so you are encouraged to solve them. Puzzles aren't hard, but do require you to observe environment carefully to find hints and use your brain to solve them. I think the puzzles in this game are just in that sweet spot, it takes more than a baby to solve them, but never frustrating. Some puzzles do require you to know some beginner level music theory, and sensitive ears. If you just enjoy rhythm games know nothing about music theory, then these puzzles can be in your way.
Story is quite touching, not gonna spoil it. This reborn version reanimated all the story moment in 3D fashion, and also collected og Deemo's 2d hand drawn animation if you want to view them.
The downside of this steam version is that not all expansions are available. Some songs are also missing probably due to copyright issues. Currently on steam, there are 66 songs in vanilla version, and 60 more songs you can play if you buy expansions.
This is definitely not a cheap and lazy made cash grab. Totally recommend this even if you have played og Deemo before. If you haven't played Deemo, you are missing out some good stuff.

where is wings of piano? T__________T

I don't like the music packs here. I need more piano songs but here mostly all of them are noisy songs. Yes there are piano in some of it but we need more like vk songs, they are more like classical piano, true piano not people singing with rock noisy music and with only just a bit of piano....

TLDR down bottom. Long review ahead from some nerd who played both the OG Deemo on android and Reborn (and went down rabbit hole searching about all the lore, secrets, and conspiracies) :

Gameplay:
I know people been complaining about these in the review but YOU CAN CHANGE THE KEYBINDS.

The way it works still very similar to the OG, but I hate the fact you can just spam the space bar as to replace the sliding notes (and you won't get penalized for starting and ending it offbeat, so you can just spam spacebar the whole game and it will be hit all the slides note).

Might be me nitpicking because I do actually play musical instrument in real life, but some of the songs are off beat thus making it really hard to time the beat perfectly.

Songs (ooh here's a big one):
Acquired all the DLC except for Taiko collection. To my disappointment there's not a single VK song. Isn't VK considered the face of Deemo? His songs really fits the game as well. I get it that it's connected to certain incident but regardless I am still sad. Even with all these DLCs and it still can't replace VK's songs.

Reborn does include some of the OG songs. A lot of the songs are more rock-ish, still enjoyed playing them tho. The ending song was the best, was really happy when you could unlock that once you passed the credit scene.

Story:
Reborn executed the story telling part pretty nicely. Even though I knew the whole story, I still cried like a little baby regardless. With all the interact-able items in Reborn, those serves as hints to the game plot.

One thing I really like from Reborn it is also now a puzzle game, not compulsory to solve all of them but you do get extra music sheet if you do. For someone who also loves puzzle game, it was a huge plus point for me. Some of the puzzles were pretty challenging but still fun.

After you have progressed enough you can actually watch through all the cut scene in the OG Deemo, which is a really nice touch especially for OG players.

Graphics:
Deemo reborn is in 3D, might be because I'm a sentimental person who remembers OG as 2D but I prefer the 2D hand drawn style, it just fits the theme more. However with 3D it captures the creepiness and mysterious vibe better.

Heats up my PC fairly quick but maybe because my PC is a potato.

Overall I do enjoy Deemo Reborn. Deemo franchise is probably the best rhythm game I've ever played, and I think it is worthy of the price tag. Recommended.

TLDR: Play if you like rhythm game, nice story, puzzles and songs. No VK though, but to make it up there's a lot of puzzles!

Was a very big fan of the original mobile game, then a few months ago found the reborn re release when i bought the second game. Learned last week about this edition and cannot express how excited i am to play this. takes a little to get reused to the new control format but cannot recommend this game enough to anyone interested in this style of game, and being as i have never left reviews for any other game i have ever played, the fact that i am leaving one here is saying something in and of itself and how much i love this game.

I remember downloading this game on my mobile during my high school days- What i had thought to be a piano game, turned out to be so much more, it had a great story. I only liked a few selected songs, but it definitely is a music game that intrigued me to complete it. The puzzles were such a plus as well!

I would recommend downloading the original Deemo on your phone if you don't have VR but if you have VR this is a awesome game!

I have been in love with deemo since it was a mobile game back around 2016 and this pc experience did not disappoint. The music is amazing as well as all the detail put into the art for each song, and the puzzles were intriguing. Thank you Rayark!

I grew up playing the Original Deemo on my first smartphone, and it was introduced me to the world of rhythm games (specifically Japanese rhythm games). I had only found out about this game today and realised you can play it in VR. So I immediately picked it up.

What a nostalgic journey I've had so far! If you've played the original Deemo, then chances are you'll definitely enjoy this. However, that being said, if you already own the game on smartphone or switch, and don't have a VR headset, and only enjoyed Deemo for its rhythm game play, Id say wait for a sale. The original Deemo still holds up and plays really well.

The game in VR is very nicely made, the animations are solid, the puzzles and world feel alive and as colourful as it used to but in 3D, I do miss the 2D artstyle tho. The rhythm gameplay in Vr works surprisingly well, considering that there's little to no feedback when "pressing/hitting" a note.

I did encounter some errors in VR:

The water in the main room is kind of glitchy, im sure its not supposed to look like that but it almost looks like the water is sped up? There's no setting to lower or higher the graphics, so it might be an issue with my graphics card.

The camera would occasionally snap to different angles during cut scenes instead of fading out and in, which made me get kind of a whiplash effect as i wasn't expecting it

And here are a few nitpicks:

I wish there was a way to either rotate the hands or remove them for balls of light or something while playing the game, I want hold my hands flat as if i was playing a piano but the hands on the display are flat when my hands IRL are holding the controls upright, so it feels as if i'm smashing the piano instead of rolling my hand along it. It's kind of hard to explain. You can hold your hands flat and the games doesn't penalise you, but the hands just make it look strange and it gets distracting.

Hitting the notes is most of the time very responsive, but at the cost of you needing to lift your hands up a bit more than what i feel comfortable with, and i completely get why, but there's just sometimes when i would not lift my hand high enough and id accidentally hit a note. this is purely human error and i'm sure i can get used to it but i feel it could be less sensitive.

And lastly for people who are going to try and get Full combo or All Charming in vr, good luck :). The vr mode is fun and worth experiencing, but it is really hard to consistently swing your arms on higher difficulties for some of the faster notes compared to just tapping them on your phone.

Other than that, 7.5/10 great game to just chill out and enjoy
