This game is great but it is even better with friends. the most fun ive had in this game wasnt even playing a mission or deep dive, it was running around the lobby kicking and fighting over a green barrel laughing so hard i was unable to control my bowels. good times.

Excellent game with huge replayability.

Best played with other people, but if you can't find anyone else the AI Bosco miner is actually awesome.

This is probably the best example of game development in recent years. Everything is included with purchase, including the season passes. DLC is cosmetic only and there is no pay-to-win or pay-to-progress. Missed a season? Everything gets added to the regular drop table later.

Buy it. Then, Rock and Stone!

Tried to play EDD solo. Literally couldn't kill one swarm before a second spawned. If you don't have a hundred friends who all own it so you always have a 4-man team, give up on even thinking about doing an EDD on your own.

To briefly summarize what this game is, it's a class-based coop PvE FPS about spelunking through large alien cave systems as a team of space dwarves to complete objectives(yes, you read that correctly). Each mission you explore the caves, clear waves of enemies, mine resources for ammo/gold/crafting materials, and complete a series of objectives depending on the mission type. It's up to four players and while it's obviously best with friends it's surprisingly very playable with randoms and even solo.

Why would I recommend this?

This game offers a wealth of gameplay variety that dwarfs(pun intended) other games within the genre. Each mission can have one of 8 different objective types, one of 7-8 different secondary objectives(depending on the main objective), take place in one of 10 different biomes(each having unique flora, fauna, hazards, and resources), have up two of 20 different mission modifiers, and throughout the mission a number of different events/goodies can potentially spawn in. That's all before even mentioning that the level every mission takes place in is procedurally generated. The game also has a solid variety of functionally unique enemy types(which the game does an excellent job at giving very distinguishable/recognizable audio cues) and good load-out customization for each class(especially once you start getting overclocks).

The gameplay also offers a sense of verticality that, as far as I'm aware, is completely unique for a coop shooter like this. Missions take place entirely underground and the terrain is completely destructible(which means you can carve passageways upwards and between caverns). Every class has a unique mobility tool for navigating the caves and nearly every enemy can either climb walls/ceilings or fly, which means enemies can spawn and show up from just about anywhere.

The icing on the cake is that the game just oozes personality and the community is the best I've seen for any game I've ever played.

Absolutely recommended. It's well worth the full price of $30, but if you're on the fence it does go on sale for $15 somewhat often.

Great co-op, surprisingly even when matching with random players. It's occasionally difficult but you can usually afford to goof around.

Amazing game!

One of the best co-op experiences you can find - great fun with friends!

At the same time the game is complex in terms of tactics and combat. What impresses me most are the maps, which are automatically generated and therefore unique to each dive.

Also, constant updates with new and deep content and great communication from the devs!

Love this game. I have gotten so much enjoyment out of this game. Its a blast playing by your self and its even more fun with friends. The price of the game is perfect (could even be higher like $45) The community for this game is amazing and the devs are also amazing.

This game has a lot of fast paced action, teamwork, progression, and fun! I have enjoyed this game for over 100+ hours and still continue to love playing it. There are many different mission types and four extremely unique classes to choose from. The characters are all light hearted and hilarious. 10/10

it's idiotic to not have a working reconnection/rejoin mechanism, specially for deep dives(longer end game content). The game itself says for deep dives: "Players who lose connection will be able to rejoin" but this is not true.

It's like Starcraft 2 co-op missions but in FPS. Really love how the game has mechanics and synergies that motivates you to engage with other players in order to achieve an objective. This is a nice game with a really good multiplayer experience. Cash shop is pure cosmetics too, there is no such thing as pay for convenience or pay to win in this game, you can't buy a weapon or item with real money that gives you an advantage over other players, its great. One thing I would like to see improved is the perk system, most of the perk skill in this game has very little impact or just plain useless. Fun with friends! Get this game now!

For sure better with 3 other friends but can still be fun with randoms. You diggy diggy holes, kill some bugs, overall it's well made and a good way to spend your time with buddies.

game algorythems overwelm new players at all costs. you litterally have no chance. Now if you buy the latest in stone wear from the devs, all sudden your shooting lead. Very one sided to players who spend money on the cloths. Typical of the gameing industry and a sign of things to stay .Dont waste your mony unless they are giving the game away.

idk what to think of this game so here is a pie recipe

Ingredients:

1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2. 1/2 cup white sugar
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup water
5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
6. 1 pinch salt
7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside.
3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices.
4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal.
5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.

There are two types of fun missions in Deep Rock Galactic.

There are the ones that are easy, where you can explore the beautiful yet dangerous caves at your own pace, mine lots of minerals, and have some fun killing bugs during a swarm. On these missions, you usually rack up tons of gold, kills, and side objectives without much difficulty.

And there is a lot of customization that lets you accomplish these goals however you want. There are multiple classes, each with their unique helpful tools, then different weapons which each have their own upsides and downsides, lots of upgrade paths that can take your weapons in all sorts of directions, and plenty of overclocks that can completely change a weapon. With all of this customization you can do anything from fly, burn down everything in your path, shred through the bigger bugs like nothing, and even commit dwarven war crimes.

But the real fun in this game comes when the missions are hard. When the missions trigger optional boss fights before you're ready, when the random cave generation leaves you with no room to stand on, and when the bugs don't stop spawning. These missions test your skill as a dwarf, your target prioritization, your aim, your positing, but most importantly your determination.

Because remember, when you're trapped in the caves of an alien planet far away from home; backed by a company that doesn't care if you make it back alive; and you're surrounded by giant bugs that want to eat you whole; just remember, that the only way out, is through. Rock and Stone fellow miner. I hope that one day you will join me, in exploring this nightmare we call Hoxxes IV.

incredibly good multiplayer horde game; not exploitative and remains fun.

Fizzlesticks
Fizzlesticks

Unique for an FPS, hits perfectly as a squad based PvE. Each class compliments each other in a way that encourages full squad play and discourages redundancy of classes. However, it's still fun to play solo/two/three to a squad as well as play with redundant classes as a squad. Community is largely friendly, and the worst players you might come across are the pushy/inconsiderate/"rush through" type. All game play is fun to do and there is no mechanic pushing players to "grind".

There's no pay to win or game play hidden behind purchasable DLC. Everything beyond the base game is purely cosmetic for those wishing to further support the developer. My only request on this aspect is for female dwarf character models as my girlfriend loves to play DRG with me, but likes her pink, frilly, girly sorts of things. The devs are apparently considering this already and I'm sure many others are requesting it given the game's wide appeal. (Mind the jiggle physics.)

New content is released frequently and cave exploration has not become stale. I would like to see more biomes which I'm sure is also in the works. I think some more mini games in the space rig would be greatly appreciated by the community as well for late night players. Otherwise, there's enough players online that a full squad can be had within seconds to minutes during normal hours.

If you like FPS you'll love DRG. If you enjoyed any of the Earth Defense Force series you'll love DRG. If you enjoy squad based game play you'll enjoy DRG. The devs listen, they respond and the game just keeps getting better.

A testament to true co-op games that follows the successful formula that once gave us the Left 4 Dead Franchise.

Great game in the midst of a bunch of shit unoriginal uninspired games. Game has alot of potential and already where it is right now is fun and has a large amount of replayability.
