Reviewing Blizzard or Diablo 4? Seems a lot of these people cannot separate the two or have no idea what a good game is. This is a good game. It is not perfect. I have enjoyed the free weekend enough to buy a copy and played quite a bit today... I do not understand all the hate, and if you think this UI is predatory I just don't know what to say. Blizzard has gotten up to some bad stuff, but that seems to be industry standard these days. I have a friend that works for WB, I know what these guys go through. So, yeah, SHAME BLIZZARD, SHAME... but D4 is a good game. The always online sucks, but again, industry standard and all that jazz.

Buy it on sale, its good. Runs well on steam deck.

Enjoying it so far at 13 hours. First couple hours were very boring but then I started to enjoy it. I want to go through the main story line. I don't see playing it much after that. I think Diablo 3 felt more fleshed out and I enjoyed it more. I dont even want to know how many hours I spent on Diablo 2. Years! I will play this one less then either of those.

Sat in queue for 30 mins trying to play my second session and it got me asking questions like "Why am I connecting to a server for a game that I want to play solo?", and "Why is there not an available server when they just took a huge chunk of money from me for this game?". Decided the answer to these questions was to uninstall and find something else to play. Big disappointment after enjoying Diablo 1-3. Guess I'll go back to Grim Dawn and Torchlight...

I enjoy Diablo4. Great graphics, great atmosphere, interessting skills and gorgeous cinematics.

But the presentation of the story leaves room for improvement. Also Openworld games feel kinda aimless to me and i really dislike getting disconnected from the servers when i take a short break.

I'm looking forward to what the endgame offers to me.

This is the first Diablo game I've played so I can't compare it to previous titles. I also bought it for $40 during black Friday and I've also only played as the necromancer so far so keep that in mind.

I am only writing this review because I feel the reviews being "Mixed" isn't fair at all.

Things I liked:
- Gameplay is very addicting
- Many builds are usable. Some are better than others though
- New content will be added every 3 months (Items, Quests)
- Very grindy game

Things I didn't like:
- Online game so you can't pause. But you can just teleport back to a main waypoint and teleport back to where you were.
- Areas are reused. I feel like I've walked through the same area multiple times
- Game feels like a loop after the first 4 hours (I don't mind this. Others might though.)

Don't let my hour count on here fool you, I primarily play through the Blizz launcher and just play through steam when I am on my steam deck in bed (yep, bought the game twice). I've been a lifetime Diablo fan, and with 4 level 100's already in this I can say I thoroughly enjoy D4 as well.

I am an absolutely massive fan of ARPG games, I eat them up whenever I can find them. It began with Diablo for me, and it continues to be one of my favourites. All the great ARPGs have something to offer, in Diablo I find incredible playability and good meaty grindy combat with enough of the mechanical/build depth to keep me satisfied.

You'll see droves of negative opinions for reasons that have nothing to do with the game itself, or others from people that just expected something different from the game. But for me? It gave me everything I wanted in a Diablo game, and continues to come out with cool stuff regularly.

I do not understand the hate this game gets. It is and absolute blast! I wish there was a way to play it off line because lag can really suck while playing single player... Overall thought a fantastic game!

This game is massive, there are lot of things to do, the map is big, the enemy combat is challenging, trying new skills and seeing how the combination plays with equipped items. I just get lost in the map and explore dungeons without prioritising the main story. The enemies are challenging and makes one want to find better items and new play styles. I am playing without watching youtube videos on build guides. I have played D2 and D3. This has a very dark look like D2 but the colour palette is almost one colour but the graphics are beautiful detailed and smooth. The first town is well layed out, I find it better than D3, a lot more personality to the town environment. I think it is really great. Enjoying it.

I've played the Diablo series since Diablo 1. This game has great graphics. It is a bit faster than what I am used to with the previous games. I wish there was an Amazon and Paladin. We never had a dodge before so it requires a bit more sharpness to keep up with it. Overall I think this is a great next installment in the franchise.

No transfer options from battlenet to steam for steam deck players is a shame. a 10 euro transfer-version for instance. and if you pay the money for the steam version you are NOT able to use the already downloaded files from the battlenet installation...
for the division 1 and 2 this is possible. shame on you former blizzard entertainment.

I can not even start the game, what a pure garbage. It is not enough the password but you need phone number and beyond. DO NOT BUY. I have ask for the refund already, I hope I can get it. This company is beyond redemption. This is a game not a bank account. They did not ask me for my social security number.

Yes, compared to previous action rpgs, there seems to be a lack of late game content. But experiencing now half of the game, I must say the atmosphere and dark tone hit the diablo nail on the head, and I didn't have so much fun just playing an action rpg since diablo 2 in its time. Very great feedback in the fights!

When I first started the game, there was a feeling of nostalgia, as if I were playing old Diablo. Excellent soundtrack. Every class give totally different gameplay experience and mechanics. Pure fantasy feeling. Amazing story including cutscenes, the side quests are quite interesting.

Not a bad game but not really a great game either. The graphics when cranked up on PC are great. Art is excellent too. Main story was ok as they didn't try to win favor with rape or killing main characters like Decard Cain in D3 for shock value. At a technical level the steam integration was excellent which motivated me to rebuy the game from bnet to steam for easier steam deck play. Not requiring the bnet launcher and going straight into game is how you do it right. The game itself is a pig consuming most of the steam decks ram and cpu even on lowest settings plus the network lag and town stutter is still not great. Skipped season 1 but season 2 is a very bland experience requiring everyone to relevel another character to enjoy what amounts to a very basic story thats over before it began. The only good thing is that they did add some nice QoL things with mounts, leveling, and the vamp powers allow for new builds. Overall I wish they had better balance across classes, more enticing PVP, perhaps an ongoing story that bridges from season to season thats not over at level ~50. If the devs are able to keep improving then the game has some comeback hope. maybe.

I am enjoying this title as a single player action RPG that I play on and off, exploring its world, trying out different characters and all. And I would recommend it as such at a discount.

When I get to try playing co-op with friends, I might update the review. But I won't be end-game-grinding-for-gear, so whatever might be wrong about that content, if that is what made people unhappy, won't effect my opinion.

Biggist pile of shit i have played, the controls are naff, its the same thing over and over again.Nothing makes sence and plays like a 20year old game, Dont Buy unless you get it for 70% or less its not worth the money.

I play on PC and my husband plays this on Xbox. The game is not perfect and yes, it's called Diablo 4 for a reason because it copies a lot of things from the previous versions. There are a lot of improvements from the previous versions and it's worth buying it on sale. Nobody is forcing you to buy anything from the shop. The game feels well balanced, way better graphics than the previous versions, lots of options on aesthetics from items, way better crating, big huge map with world events and lots of quests and dungeons to keep you going for many hours.

Good RPG game destroyed by greed. Game looks really good. Music and sounds are pleasant. Gameplay is fun. No offline game mode = no recommendation. Servers shutdown. Game you bought and invested your hard earn money is gone for ever. Live services is a disease that needs to be purge. I want to play Diablo like the good old times. When Blizzard was good company at making games for gamers like myself. No online trash I never asked for. Will Blizzard listen and care about its players?

thought i would give this game a go as it would be my first diablo game. The fact was free to play for a bit helped get me to try it and i actually enjoyed playing it a bit, however.... i wasn't aware that this game is another of those you have to be connected to the internet constantly or the game kills itself. This games servers seems like dog shit right now. it gets so bad were you cant move for SEVERAL seconds and you end up dying or it will be running fine for a bit then out of no where you get disconnected. a lot of people are talking about the micro transactions, imo it doesn't matter because i know i'm not paying for that ish lol at the end of the day its your money if you want cosmetics hey do you. as it stands i enjoyed leveling my necromancer to see how strong i could get but then the server starts shitting itself which kills the mood instantly and i turned it off, NEEDS FIXING.

Diablo series is an excellent platform. Diablo 4 offers a sandbox style dungeon crawl unlike many other platforms but fails to OUTSHINE its previous version Diablo 3. Gaming style and quests can be repeaditive although true customization exists in the plethora of options for equipment weapons and skill points. Overall it is an unique and immersive experience and highly recommended.

OMG BRING BACK RAINBOW GOBLINS and other species variants from D3... BEST PART OF GAME HANDS DOWN #WTF

Is the game perfect, no. It kicks you out randomly at times. the late game can be TOO grinding at times and its not a game thats forgiving by letting you build your characters freely. If you want a different build for a character you'll have to use currency to re-do it. Thus forcing you to play with a characters thats not ideal until you can cover the cost. HOWEVER, the gameplay, exploration, animation and story are top tier. If this is on sale for 30-40 bucks give it a shot. It can be fun but if you wanted OG Diablo 2 or even 3 feelings... just go play that. lol Idk I have fun with it but i have other games to play. So take my opinion with a grain of salt.

Let me preface this approval with quick tips the devs can make to fix issues with the game. Make a not live option for the game. A lot of issues would be solved by not playing online, all the time.

The game looks great, plays like shit on my laptop even with the graphics turned all the way down, because laptops. It has a decent story and an enjoyable open world feeling map. In all ways it feels like a good Diablo title. Listen to player/fan feedback, and this game can become another great in the series.

Vendors are USELESS. Game is great but I miss the part where I'll find something worth of buying. And only 3-4 items? Update this, make it more like Diablo 2.

Alos punishment for getting killed in softcore is not so bad, in Diablo 2 I was afraid of that, spending hours of getting my items back :D In 4 I do not care, just pay little cost (loaded with useless gold, since vendors are useless).

Thos two were nice part of the charm in 2. Update! :)

Best ARPG so far. Graphics are such a improvement from D3. The campaign could've been a bit longer thought, however it was okay. I have not see a "cow level" yet. idk if itll be implemented or has been, that would be awesome. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING, i dont get why people pointing fingers at transactions that you DONT HAVE TO BUY. all you have to buy is the game. ive tried all the Characters, but i liked some more than others. am obviously expecting a dlc for a few more characters or char. I have both copies on both platforms, bnet and steam, i rather play it on steam bc of the steam overlay. It does rubberband during peak times, and its not that much even, i live in Alaska.. last thing to point out would be, the game is a lot more fun with friends. Try playing hardcore, you only loose the character you get to keep the stash amongst othere things. Itll give you a bit of a adrenaline rush TRUST. my face got tingly once when i was stunned and almost died (ive lost 3 char so far, all low lvl tho)
ONE THING they should improve is the difficulties, abit more spread like in D3 but thats just IMO.
and EVENTS. The World Boss was amazing, you get to fight a huge asss boss with 7 other random ppl, or the Legions event.

It is Nostalgic to play again this game, playing it in computer shop with friends and helping to finish the boss in dungeon. the game is same concept the graphics is more quality than before. many aspect of the game is improved. I'm just happy to play it again.
