I will skip the fact that the controls are horrible and mouse cursor often goes off screen (game was developed for mobiles as far as I know), though, they could have put in some effort and optimize it.
However, the worst part is, that after a few hours of gameplay, if you rearrange buildings, the game bugs out with "No path" information above every building (even though the path is connected), and all your visitors "Can't go home" even though their homes are connected to a path. This results in no income and you only go into debt... It is unrecoverable and is a game blocker!
If you didn't have a save before the bug happened, hours of progress gone... you can check screenshot on my profile:

Many other small issues, saves being gone, as auto-save seems to be overriding a manual save.
Waste of time to even write up this opinion.
Not worth the time or the money! I would not launch it again if they paid me.
Stay away from this game, if you want to stay sane.

It is a cheap and relaxing game that you can have fun with. I will not claim that it is complex, but there is a certain depth of learning. The only gripe I have, is that it told me that I should learn as many different classes with each character as I can, without telling me there is a highscore - and that there is a time limit until that score is calculated (15 years). I would have focused much harder on the higher tier classes, rather waste my time as an adventurer, then farmer, then carptenter, etc. That said, yes it is a good game for a good price.

Cool little management game. Be ready to face awful mobile UX and UI, but with a controller it's ok, and for the price this is still a very pleasant experience. First Kairosoft game for me, I might come back for more in the future!

One of the first Kairosoft games I played on mobile, Dungeon Village is a fun pixellated trek through a fantasy world of adventurers fighting monsters and dragons. Take it with the grain of salt of it not being as complicated as other games, but what is here is pretty great, especially with the fun art direction!

My first Kairosoft game and will obviously not be the last.

This game is really fun! It does take a while to get used to the touch-like controls and very outdated graphics that is obviously ported from a mobile game. There's some bits of game mechanics not explained and you might find yourself having too many establishments that will kill you off with maintenance costs. Luckily it's very hard for you to stay in the red for long as adventurers will give make you profit with not much consequences. The feeling of dopamine rushing through your body every time a new adventurer (with their funny name!) comes in is unmatched

Some caveats ofc. It does get tedious waiting for popularity to spike up and mid game mob killing quests starts to get real numbers dependent and you will still find most of your adventurers knocked out on the ground which makes a funny sight to look at but not with your monthly earnings plummeting! Fortunately at this point you surely don't have much of a problem with money. Also not much monster variety - I mean there are bosses too but you would probably clear them all early on. There's a alchemy mechanic too but I didn't use it much since there was no reason to. I was able to clear out 7/8 achievements before year 15. The last being given to me at some point in year 16.

Anyway really addicting and strongly recommend!

Recommended for casual sim gamers who are looking for a cute experience.

If you played one game from this developer, you can kinda guess how the rest of them are.
It's cute, chill, and rewards the player with constant dopamine.

Grindy and fun! I enjoyed this far more than I was expecting to. It just checked all of the fun time waster boxes. It was casual, but a little challenging. It was grindy, but not too grindy. The theme is excellent. All in all this was a satisfying little sim. My only complaint is that every character in this game is white. It's an easy fix, so please fix it. I hope that the sequel does not have that issue.

In Dungeon Village, you dive in as the new mayor with resources to splurge on buildings, items, and whatnot. Adventurers start trickling in, but to attract more, you've got to boost the place's popularity. That means completing missions, throwing events, or simply kitting out the heroes roaming your village. Once they're satisfied, they drop lines like, "Make me a citizen, but first, buy me a house and cover moving expenses." Essentially, they're just leeches. No sympathy from me when they're either paying their taxes, or simply lying unconscious on the battlefield (to be later extorted for an absurd amount of gold at the local inn)

Now, let's ponder the big question: What's the endgame here? Some argue for maxing out the village at 5 stars, others for collecting every adventurer or mastering all classes. The latter, though doable, feels absurd. Medals, accumulated popularity, end-of-year chaos — it's a convoluted mess. For me, it's all about snagging every achievement. This game's unique; achievements stack up without a formal ending. It's like being the last one in the gym, and your pals heading out say, "Remember to turn off the lights when you're done"

Enough about that; let's touch on other game aspects. Gameplay screams "mobile port" with clunky mouse controls, especially when precision clicks go awry. Graphics aren't bad, but the building rotation angles are downright irksome. Music and sound effects? Mute is your best friend; otherwise, it's a symphony of irritation (this whole experience is pretty much a grindfest, after all)

Overall, Dungeon Village offers an intriguing time sink, but it's painfully lengthy for all the wrong reasons; there's no clear end here, just a clock ticking down. Since this is the second title by Kairosoft that I've had the opportunity to try, I assume their other releases share this same fate. So if you're the kind of person who's more interested in the ending rather than the journey itself, be advised

Pleasantly surprised about how much fun I had. Got the game for cheap on a sale and wasn't expecting much. The simple design of the game allowed you to enjoy the process of building and watching your heroes get knocked out. The controls are a bit janky, but I still enjoyed my time.

Luthdraco

Decent little game for the price. It's not really a colony simulation at all, nor a manager. It's basically a "coockie-clicker" type of game, where you're more or less just cliking on some simple stuff and watching the numbers go higer.

That is to say that there is no strategy or planning necessary here since it is a small game providing a much more casual experience. But this is by design and the game is pretty clear that it is just a simple time waster without much complexity. Unsurprising given its clear mobile roots; the user interface and controls is ported from the mobile versions.

If you keep your expectations in check, then this can be a decent time waster for the cheap price, so take a look at all the games from this dev as they operate on more or less the same mechanics and gameplay, so pick one with your favourite theme and go with it.

Initially it looked cute and then it got really frustrating.
Main issue for me was that once I turn of the annoying music there were hardly any sounds.

Controls weren't very responsive.
I kept placing building where I didn't want them to go.
When placing buildings the game hesitates. So you don't know if it took the command or not. Then poof, your building is in the wrong spot. But if you wait nothing happens. I got extremely impatient with this.
I couldn't understand if I needed to rotate them or not. No explanation how to rotate anything. Felt more like a puzzle game trying to fit everything in.
Too much limited space to really build anything.
No tutorial as to what to do to get things going. You just build the same buildings over and over until you run out of room.
After 17 minutes I was bored to death.

Refunded.

I played this on mobile at one point, but decided to pick it up on sale for my Steam Deck. With a controller, the game is very fun. You can layout your little city, attract heroes, and constantly make money. It's a nice gameplay loop with a definitive ending (though, you can keep playing after the game "ends").

I don't see there being a lot of replay value for me. I saw all the buildings and heroes in my playthrough, but I enjoyed my time. Enough so that I plan on buying other games by the same developer if they're on sale. I'm a little cheap so I'd certainly wait for a sale, but if you want to replay and attempt higher scores, full price might not be such a bad ask.

Jack of Spades

Really boring and repetitive, it's worse than watching paint dry. You always have to sit and wait for the same animations to play several times per minute, the graphics look like mobile games ones since it actually is a 10 y/o mobile game that was poorly ported to pc, there's nothing new in the game after the first 5 minutes and this endless loop of grinding isn't even a fun one like in Forager, I wouldn't recommend this game even as a joke.

Dungeon Village was a fun idle-type game in which you build up an adventuring village, outfitting the adventurers that come to slay the nearby monsters and building shops for them. It was apparently originally a mobile game, which I think tracks, but it was exactly the kind of fun idle game I loved and I found it to be a good quality. I loved maxing out all my heroes and unlocking everything. This was a fun game! :D

My initial thoughts on the game was wtf. It is capped at 20fps and the mouse interface is shit.

I forced myself to give it a chance, and was pleasantly surprised. Game is kinda unplayable with mouse but if you learn the keybinds it's pretty fun. I hope this isn't some lazy port that will get no further development but it probably is.

It's worth $5 for me at least.

Another great Kairosoft sim. The building part is pretty limited, you'll spend more time managing adventurers. A full playthrough is about 10 hours and I found this one relatively easy, maybe a bit too much.

Some reviews mentions bad PC controls and it's true but totally playable without frustration once you get used to it. You use your mouse and left button like your finger with right button as a "back". This port somehow has an actual cursor floating around not using your mouse that sometimes will hover and select something, mostly if you drag and drop to move the map I think but since it's on a big screen I zoomed out as much as I could instead of dragging the screen and it became a non-issue. I guess this cursor is for controller and maybe keyboard only controls but I only used the mouse.

I really like most Kairosoft games, but I'd have to say this is my least favorite. It just doesn't feel like a game. There is very little to do. Very few meaningful choices to make. It's kind of fun to watch everyone run around randomly, but that is about it.

Jasperline
Jasperline

I played this along side of other games (namely mmorpgs) and it fit in without a ton of maintenance, just the ocassional build this, event, ect. Most of it is the characters running around kind of fighting monsters or going on the quests you assign them.

I originally played this via mobile, it doesn't have the best controls, but they're quick and easy to figure out. It took me about 74 hours to do a 100% achievement run, due to the fact I wasn't always actively playing.

I do recommend ONLY on sale, due to it's really basic and short nature. It (I am not sure if still is) often on sale via mobile, if you are interested as well. It was a fun game to play to pass the time!

A lovely little casual game with a simple mechanic. Let your townsfolk wander around the field killing monsters to get gold, or spend gold to send them off into little dungeons for upgraded items, and earn points to spend on building up your little town. The little adventurer townsfolk will wander around town spending money in the shops you've built, but they'll always rest up in your inn. Pump a bunch of bonus items into raising the fee of the inn and you'll overcome the frustrating inability to make money. I finished it (got to the final 5-star rank, though you can play it forever after that) in about 10 hours. Great little time waster.

Played through!

Graphics – Its an mobile port but looks great on PC.
Soundtrack – Loops and can get draining after a while - when I was younger it never bothered me.
Bugs - None.
Overall - The best Kairosoft game if you like micro-mobile adventure type of games. Its worth the asking price and has a nice overall feel. The content does get repetitive but its a mobile game. Around 10H Max of stuff to do and then its done but was cool to replay the classic that got me hooked on Kairo!

Rating - 9/10 on Win10

It's a cute idle game! I was able to play this on the side with another, heavier game. Then again, I'm a huge multitasker. It's very simple, casual, and pretty easy to get through. There isn't really any replayability, but it's definitely nice to add to your 100% completion list!

This is a pretty slow and outdated mobile idle game ported to PC. I got charmed by the cute graphics but the gameplay is pretty miserable for a colony sim city builder. Also the poor controls makes it clear that this is a money grab project.

I would judge the game to be worth 0-2$.

dj_moyer
dj_moyer

I think the asking price (currently $9) is more than this game is worth but if you have money to burn, or if you get it on sale for half price or something... yeah it's alright.

It's VERY simple. You are the mayor of a village. You have to build up the village by adding shops that earn money whenever an adventurer stops there. And also houses for new adventurers to live in, so you can collect tax money from them. Then as your village becomes more popular, more adventurers will start showing up. They fight monsters in the woods nearby, automatically. They gain XP and you gain money every time they kill something. You can also send them on special quests for additional rewards. And you can give them presents to make them better at combat while also increasing their satisfaction with your village. They only move into a house if you get their satisfaction to a high enough level. Then the adventurers will occasionally find new blueprints for equipment, or for new kinds of shops. The shops give the adventurers stat boosts, too.

You only control the village. The adventurers will run around and do their own thing, controlled by the A.I.

Meanwhile, each of your buildings costs you money to maintain it, and each hero requires a regular salary to do their job. The point of this game is to find a way to balance things so that your income is bigger than your expenses.

This game has some replayability, you can do a "new game +" where you keep the levelups you got for your shops... but everything else resets to zero. So essentially you can build a level 5 Bakery right at the start of the game instead of that little level 1 Bakery. Helps you get a faster start. Then after 15 years of play time you can compare your high score to previous runs.

Hello Friends,

Today I will review the game DUNGEON VILLAGE. This game is a mobile game ported to pc. This is a relaxing building game where you build a village to attract heroes from all over the world to help you fight monsters in the area and dungeon. It takes awhile to get everything built in the village, and it is possible to make it very big. You can also have heroes move into your town and permanenetly stay there. When you max out a class the heroes have, you can upgrade other heroes to the same class. Each class has 10 levels to get to max it out. There are many different classes and as said previously, you can unlock them by maxing out the class to level 10. Anyways, here is my pros and cons list:

PROS:

- A relaxing game about building a village to attract heroes of the world.
- Relaxing music and game style.
- Works with controller. I used a logitech F310.
- Ability to build lots of buildings and find secret ones.
- You can level up heroes by helping them do quests and maxing out their levels.
- You can max out attraction of buildings so heroes use them more.
- Based on rpg systems found in regular rpg games.
- Ability to gift heroes gifts to make them like your village better.
- Works on Windows 11 OS.

CONS:

- This is a mobile adaptation game ported to pc. Not everyone likes these types of games.
- There is alot of time to take to max out stuff in this game. Not everyone has the time to appreciate it.

So do i recommend this game? Only if you love rpgs and have lots of time. The game is not meant to be fast paced or cause anxiety. It is relaxing to play and relaxing to meet goals. If that sounds like a game you would enjoy, you might like this game.

I saw the series, and this one appealed to me. There are several others that have different themes. The Dungeon one here looked like it would be fun, so I tried it.

It is similar to an idle, but you have some choices that make it unique. And the pixel art is well done. I just had fun placing town buildings and sending the heroes on quests. Simply effective kind of game to play for an hour or two here and there. Easy to save and pick up again. Not overly complicated , but also interesting to try and reach growth goals.

Nakano28
Nakano28

One of the best and cheapest games of the type, or at least from the ones I managed to try.
You can create your own village, rise your village popularity to attract adventurers to fight monsters,
do shopping and even move in to your village.

In the mean time, you'll end up invoking the ire of an entire dragon family, just because the eldest son, wanted to bully your town, and gets his ass kicked, and so begins the loop.

If you want to see adventurers doing their stuffs and beating monsters, this game is great.
There are even some quests that spawns on the map, where you recruit adventurers to clear it, in exchange
for exp and item rewards.

The only problem, which I find that it's major with the game, is that the status system doesn't seems very fair.
Once you get to progress further into the game, you'll discover that monsters can 1~2 hit kill your adventurers.
That happens because for the characters to get stronger, they need to get gear, level up classes, and also do some
extra things, like giving them medals, or making them move in, so they get bonuses.

The problem with the above, is that the way monsters strengthening scaling is way too fast, so you'll easily have situations where the monsters literally farm your adventurers, unless they decide to attack together some monster.
To alleviate that, you need to buy gear for them yourself, since the adventurers are very unreliable about buying better gears for themselves.

This game, isn't exactly a idle game, since eventually there's a notification popup that pauses the game while it's opened.
That itself makes it necessary to pay some attention to what is happening on the game, because the game might be paused because of one.

As for the repetitive music issue, I have a solution for it, which I wonder if someone thought about:
-Go to the game settings
-Set music volume to 0
-Open your music player
-Make it play some music.
I don't intend to devalue whoever composed the music in the game, but there is at least a minimum of duration for a music to not get sickening when looping.
It didn't took long for me to mute the game music and open my music player.

As for the game itself, it's really worth to give it a try.
The game is cheap, and there is even some sort of score system, where if you pass 15 in-game years, you'll get score based on the progress in your save, so if you restart your game, you may try to get a better score.

But, if you only want to see your adventurers kicking asses...
Well, that works too.

Lazy port. Changing job, one relevant mechanic, is broken. Get it on Bluestacks: for a fraction of the price, you get a working game.

Chikinugget

Trying to play this game was like directly fighting the UI, if you're impatient at all this game isn't going to be fun. I find the music a bit grating as well, it's not terrible but it is very repetitive. If this game was like $3 I'd let it go, but it's almost $10, I think that's just unacceptable, even with a sale.

Nice game to play passively with a cutesy design. If you want something casual and do not want to put too much thought into a city builder then this game is for you. My major complaint is just that it's incredibly slow. There's an option that speeds it up some, but you can only unlock it after reaching the end. Even then, that option only speeds up what is happening in the world and nothing else. After spending 12 hours on this game, it feels like 30 minutes to an hour of it was spent on watching the 3 to 5 second upgrade animations that play every time and there is no way to speed it up. The music and sound effects get repetitive after a while too.

I would recommend playing this with controller, it feels better.

UNO
UNO

I have played 3 titles from their studio. station manager, pool slide story and this (dungeon village), the dungeon village is the only one that makes sense to me/I recommend.

I've read some isekai/dungeon manga and the theme fits with this game. you run a village closed to dungeon. the treasure those adventurers get will share with you (tax KEKW) and you can use the loot to upgrade town facilities or empower adventurers.
that's about it.

Infern
Infern

A small game where you build a village.
This will cause adventurers (heroes) to appear.
Heroes spend money in your shops (leveling up in specific shops too).
Heroes also kill monsters in the space outside the town.

The game loop is get money to buy gear to gear up your heroes to unlock everything.
Consumables will improve specific stats on people and even buildings (I upgraded the inn as that is most frequent pitstop).
Towards the end i started to dabble with different classes trying to max every class possible before year 16. Got half way through the list (Didn't realise that you needed 1, 3. 5 awards on characters to get the most out of the classes)

TLDR this game is fun relaxing mediocre city builder. For £6.99 it's a bargain :3

Once upon a time, far far away in 2010 mobile games didn't look like a 10-year-old drew them, didn't require a monthly subscription, and didn't ask you to buy a 99$ pack to continue playing. Then Kairosoft launched their first game and slowly build a cute simulation game pixel empire.

The gameplay is very simple and casual, the game will handhold you to understand the basics and then leave you to do your thing and play however you like. It's a simple management game where I'm honestly not even sure you can ever die. But it's fun, tons of fun, and goddamn it if it's not addicting.

Look-wise, pixel art ages like wine and Kairsofot games all share the same pixel art style that looks absolutely adorable, if you love game boy era graphics you will feel right at home. The sound is also old and game-boy-ish and fits the theme nicely, it's really repetitive though, and nothing to text your friends about.

Overall, if you want to try out an adorable management sim game on the side of other stuff, jump right in, this game is simple and fun and will keep you coming for more. First up, Its got some big issues and you need a controller to play it.
Its Keyboard/Mouse support is utter garbage.
There are annoying issues like not being able to name ur town / people.

But these are things that will only hit you at the start of trying to play this game.
Once your past these problems the game actually starts to work.
Skipped naming my stuff and plugged my controller in.

Your essentially managing a little town / a group of heroes.
As your profits grow,
so to do the heroes that come to your town,
so to does your town size,
so to does the buildings you have access to.
I've got only a few hours so far but i'm enjoying sending my hero squads out to fight ever increasing monsters.
As you progress you draw the attention of some Cute little dragons. (this is essentially the whole story part of the game that I've seen so far)

Once your heroes hit the max level of their Job/Class they can than jump into a new job/class and start leveling over but with the stat increases of the old job/class. They ever grow stronger and every item you find in dungeons/treasure boxes goes into your shops for your heroes to buy or for you to buy and gift to them in order to make them stronger.

TLDR - Games got some early problems that I hope get fixed sooner rather than later.
If you don't have a controller avoid this till they patch Keyboard/mouse controls.

However if you have a controller, the game is actually a fun little time waster.

Warning: This game is around 10 years old and ported from mobile to PC.
It has clunky game play and UI, very touch screen controls and very little to none optimization.

However I love this game, I have played it on mobile years ago.
It is very charming town building sort of game. Game play is minimal. You build new buildings, wait score to go up, unlock new buildings. Give your adventurers orders, however you don't control them manually.

I do recommend it, but be warned it is old game and a mobile port.

gen_angry

Adventurer town building game. It's like a mix between an 'idle adventurer game', a RPG, and a city builder. Was pretty popular on mobile about a decade ago and now you no longer have to run terrible android emulators to play this game on PC.

The UI is a bit clunky to use as it's clearly a port but they seem to be working on it. They've quickly fixed the keyboard issues that plagued the initial release so you can actually name your adventurer/city. Over time the 'clunkiness' gets easier to work around.

Overall, there aren't really any other in-game issues/glitches and it runs pretty well. Hopefully they continue to refine the controls (if at all possible) and bring more of their back catalogue to Steam. Would love to get Grand Prix Story and Pocket League Story.

In any case, yay for Kairosoft finally being on Steam!

edit: They've just added achievements.

The Elephant in the Room: The Issues

I originally wrote a > 8000 character review for this game. I had so much to slam it for that I discovered the character limit of Steam reviews. Did you know there was a character limit? I didn't.

To sum it up: overpriced, buggy, horrific performance, and a lack of even the most basic graphics/display features (no fullscreen toggle, no frame syncing options, no frame limiting options, no resolution or refresh rate options, etc).

So, why change my recommendation? Because it's still enjoyable. I used to play this game a LOT on mobile almost a decade ago, so I know I love the gameplay. You just need to look past the jank. So, I gave the PC port one last solid try and once I got back into the groove of things, I actually started enjoying the game again.

Is it overpriced? Compared to the identical mobile versions, yes. Is it buggy? Well, people couldn't name their characters or towns (literally the first thing you do) for a few hours because of how the text box was implemented. A patch had to be released... to solve a bug you will find literal seconds after launching the game. Is performance really that bad? When your decade old, pixel art mobile game runs at what feels like 15 fps on an RX 580, yes. Yes, it really is that bad. Especially when the game provides no graphics/display features to help with poor performance and/or poor frame pacing. There's a "Priority" option (graphics vs. performance), but it looks and performs exactly the same on both settings. BUT does the PC port still keep the soul and the fun of Dungeon Village? I would say yes. And for me, that's enough.

My personal recommendation for most people is to buy it on mobile, though. Even with the launch discount on Steam, the iOS version is less than half of that price for the exact same content (at least what I've observed so far). The Android version is $2 more than the iOS version for some reason, but that's still nearly half the price of the PC version. Same game. Less problems.

Gameplay

It's a city building simulation game. You start with a small town and a few adventurers. As adventurers in your town pay for goods/services, slay monsters, and complete quests, you'll collect resources for improving your town. You can gift adventurers items to help them and raise their satisfaction stat, which I believe is evaluated to determine if an adventurer wants to move in a house or not. You can hold events and complete quests to increase town popularity. There are so many compounding game mechanics to talk about, I could talk forever. Basically, the fun comes from the creativity of building your own town, interacting with its people, increasing its population, managing resources, and maximizing efficiency. If that sound like fun, this is probably your jam. I haven't played an insane amount of these kinds of games, but this is the most fun one I have found. I keep coming back to it even years later. It can be pretty relaxing. It's a good game to play late at night when I just want to lean back and chill.

While marred with an almost inexcusably poor launch, Kairosoft has consistently updated and patched their initial batch of titles - solving most concerns (outside of a lack of achievements). In turn, Dungeon Village is (currently) a very competent port of their classic mobile title and has the same level of charm and engagement of the original.

Running a town for adventurers, holding events, crafting items through the cauldron, etc - it's all here and it works. This is just as addicting as the mobile version, and now works with both kb/m and controllers. This comes easily recommended and I'm currently looking forward to further ports of the KS software library.

This is an old game ported from mobile, the user interface is very clunky and has a slow gait associated with most mobile games. It's a cute RPG village builder but it's overpriced for what you get. If it ever hits the $5 range I would recommend trying it, but otherwise avoid.

Update: I looked this game on the app store and it IS $5.00. I guess the developer needed some extra cash and put it on steam for nearly triple the original amount.

Campaign for Courageous Audiences

Another fantasy game from Kairosoft where you build a village of adventurers and send heroes out to defeat monsters to make your name. The main gameplay is city building to attract adventurers from all directions to your town. To build a reputation and make your city famous. You will have to build buildings to accommodate adventurers for example, there is a shop selling weapons, armor and various items. for use in preparing to go out to fight with these monsters There is a tavern to rest. Restaurants and accessories that will add charm to the city. which the selection of building constructions of various types Pairs also give bonuses to different areas. You can also develop various buildings. can be obtained by using items found in the game
As for fighting monsters The game will automatically control the brave to go out to fight. You will not have direct control. But it can help them indirectly by building various facilities. As mentioned at first Or use the gifting as a new weapon or armor. This will allow the heroes to have better stats. When the brave continue to fight will be promoted Life force will increase. making it able to fight high-level monsters and if they win Your village will also receive Fame Points. As a result, it attracts new types of warriors and heroes, as well as unlocking new monsters. added as well You can also develop various buildings. can be obtained by using items found in the game This will increase the special ability of the building. Village events can be organized in various formats. to increase the attraction of more people to use or live in the city, etc.
The main disadvantage of the game on PC is probably the UI and cursor that tends to get stuck on the screen. Since the original it is a mobile game that focuses on using touch screen to play, when it comes to the PC that uses the mouse to operate. So it felt awkward and uncomfortable. Whether scrolling the screen that can use the keyboard, but still feel a bit sluggish Fortunately, the game allows you to zoom out quite a distance. As for the soundtrack itself, it may feel that it's easy to repeat, looping back and forth a bit. If you understand that it's actually a quoted mobile game. This should not be a complaint.
The fun of this game is the development of the brave. Develop a village and keep an eye out for various monsters. The gameplay of the management is still unique to Kairosoft, which guarantees that if you like other games from the company, this is another game that will make you forget the time.
-----------------------------------------
++ Management gameplay that combines an RPG that is fun to play, fun to play, supports an ultrawide screen called Kairosoft, guarantees a soul-sucking gameplay.

+/- It's not a new game. And it used to be a great mobile game from years ago.

- No achievements to collect

Brainless mobile game ported to PC thats actually fun, if you just wanna turn of your brain a bit.
worth the money at least if you like easy civ building and resource managment.

I just wish someone would make a game similar to this with simply more of everything, bigger building area
better graphics, more resources, story and so on. It is a silly little straightforward brainless fun game.

if you are looking for challange or gripping story that moves you to tears? then this isnt for you.
If you just wanna spend a few hours not thinking about anything really and just have mindless fun then this will be straight up your alley.

Is it Janky as f*ck? Yeah
Is it a good port? Not really
Are Kairosoft sim games some of the best and most relaxing fun out there? Totally

For me, Kairosoft games were the first games I genuinely got into as a kid, with titles such as Beastie Bay, Cafeteria Nipponica & Ninja village.

Super happy that these games are finally coming to steam. Even though they definitely seem geared at tapping into the Steam Deck market, should be a great pick-up for people that are willing to forgo a little jank to have one of the most unique and relaxing Sim Game experiences that exists.

A wonderful, fun game from Kairosoft. As one of their town-based games, this one lets you build and develop a town in a fantasy RPG setting, and it's hilarious and delightful. Whenever a new type of monster is about to attack the village, that monster will come and do introductions before going back to wait for you to send some champions to fight them! It's such a fun time, very easy to learn but challenging to master.

Fortunately, as with most all Kairosoft games, it's very "my pace" and can be played at whatever rate you really prefer. If you want to try and focus only on development and advancement, you could do that. If you want to just relax and see what happens, you could do that too! Pressure is typically determined by your approach.

As with the other Kairosoft games, visuals and audio are great and very easy to chill to, gameplay is accessible and engaging, and not punishing, and the game helps you learn how to play it better as you go. This is another excellent game for just relaxing and feeling good. It will make you smile, like all of Kairosoft's output.

The controls are clunky as hell and its easier to play with a controller as like nearly everyone has said.
That being said I am still LOVING this game. I never played the original so its not even outright nostalgia for me. These kind of games scratch an itch that more modern games do not seem to even register. Its cute its charming and its just satisfying to play. It is an old school feeling game that is just simply a fun time wrapped in charming af pixel graphics!

I've been playing Kairosoft games for years now at work when I am supposed to be doing my job. As a developer for mobile games most of their games are perfectly fine.

The issue I am having is that it's pretty clear from what I've played this is just a cash grab. They charge you ten bucks for a game I paid $5.00 for eight years ago and have done nothing to actually make this more approachable on PCs. It feels like all they did was package this with an android emulator and then tossed it up on STEAM.

They've done nothing with the resolution, so it feels like you are just pressing your nose up against a cell phone. The UI is huge and bulky.

As for the controls, they are awful and I am having a hard time adjusting for them. If you use a controller the whole thing feels slow and bulky. If you are using a mouse, you'll need to double tap everywhere you go.

Dungeon Village and I assume all of their PC games, needs some polish here. I was expecting a smoother and more intuitive control scheme, but what we have here is frustrating. I can deal with the outdated resolution just fine, if you zoom out far enough it's "okay", but these controls are really making it difficult for me to properly enjoy this game.

The only bonus here is that it's now insanely easy to cheat on the game, which speeds up their dreadfully slow progression.

Dungeon Village is a solid port of this game from Android to PC. Very little has changed with the game, which can be good or bad depending on your preferences.

The controls can take a bit to get used to, as the game was originally released using touchscreen and soft-keys, so going to a mouse can seem a bit off at first. Also, the game screens are huge, because the games were designed for lower resolutions - but this shouldn't be a problem if you enjoy the pixel aesthetic, even at absurdly high resolutions.

Overall, I think the game is solid, and most of the complaints seem to be from players expecting more from Kairosoft, just because this is a PC port. If you accept that this is a simple port of a decade-old Android game, which accurately captures the Kairosoft aesthetic and gameplay, you won't be disappointed.

A fun and stimulating game. It starts out easy enough as you learn how to play then it gets challanging. Keeping you interested and still enjoy the game. I am up to 4 star village and I still cant stop playing. Its a bargain for the price,
