tl;dr
Voice acting feels 'low budget'. Puzzles are, fk the puzzle. About 1 jump scare per Section. The story left a lot of questions un-answered. It's a crappy game, but I kind of like the puzzle. Would I recommend? Sure, but I'd also tell you that this is a crappy game when I recommend it to you, just so you know that I enjoy it, but it is crappy.

Voice acting
I personally think it's not good, but not to say very bad. There is however, one part in Section 5 in the vent where Matthew panting that is just unbearable.

Puzzle
Some are freaking stupid, some are freaking clever, those that I cant solve are stupid, those that I can solve are clever. I enjoy solving them regardless, well, sometimes I rage, but yea, that's a love-hate relationship you'd get when you solve a puzzle.

Jump scares
I think the jump scare is minimal, which is good, i prefer no jump scare. I think there's about 1 jump scare in each Section.

Story
It's quite confusing for me. You woke up and you can only remember that you're looking for your sister, Shirley. That's all you could remember, which make the story seems confusing. Throughout 6 Sections, you'll be gradually exposed to your kidnaper's identity, but the reason he kidnapped you was left hanging. There're some other questions that are left hanging, if you don't like being left hanging like that, don't get this game. What question you ask? Well, spoiler alert
What happened to David and Lily? Or What have you done to them?
Who is Connie? Where did she go? She disappeared mid-game and you don't hear of her again.
There was a part where you could see your kidnaper's shadow in a room, but on the other side, someone was dragging a mannequin, who daheck was that?
Also, around the end of the game's credit, the kidnapper seems to hint us that it was just the beginning, are they planning to do a sequal?

Stuff that I would like to slap back to the dev
-Collect fragments of data that ultimately will lead to learning the truth behind Mathew’s dark predicament.
Nope. You're exposed to who he is, and get a hint of why he did it, but you still don't know what is the truth.
Maybe I'm just dumb, but I still wanna slap it back to the dev. Laugh at me if I'm wrong.

I made a high quality playthrough, check em out. actually no, it's a crappy Let's Play, I just want some attention, there, I siad it. Happy?
DISCLAIMER: IT'S NOT A WALKTHROUGH!

I cannot recommend this game in its current state. The Voice Acting, although not my reason for not recommending this, is awful. Totally and completely awful. The main factor in my displeasure with this game is how it constantly bugs out making it impossible to do anything. I'll click on something to inspect it and won't have a "Return" option and will instead be permanently stuck on that screen. That's not at all enjoyable. Due to this bug that would result in me Alt F4ing to actually be able to leave the game, I was never able to even get past the first level since when I tried to load my game, it made me start the game over.

As it is, I would definitely advise against wasting your money on this game. I paid to be entertained. I didn't pay to deal with an irrititating and game-breaking bug.

Oh, boy. Where to start with this particular mess. I was forewarned of the quality of the game after checking out a few videos and skimming the Steam reviews, but overall the game has a positive rating and I'm a sucker for these indie, rough-as-guts, escape room style games. But almost from the beginning it's clear that a whole lot is askew: the voice-acting is horrendous and I wonder why they bothered with VA at all; the game feels bad to play, with a whole lot ot looking at stuff to see if it's relevant and slow-arse moving about taking in the small and drab environments; the writing is clearly the result of nonindiginous English speakers and a lack of proofreading; and in addition to these significant charges, the game is also very short.

I know that block of text seems unduly harsh, but that's only because I really wanted DYING: Reborn to be good--rough, sure, that's a given, but fun and spooky nonetheless. Unfortunately, any attempt at atmosphere and story is ruined by every narrative instance: poor writing, bad VA, and a nonsensical and boring plot.
In the game's defence, there are a number of interesting and challenging puzzles, but these number in the few, and most of the other puzzles present very little challenge, are reissues from earlier levels, or are just plainly rendered tedious by the inability to locate the specific exact part of the level that can be meaningfully interacted with.

I can't recommend DYING: Reborn, and unlike games like Dark Corners and Conarium, I don't want to. It's tedious, laughable, short, and unrewarding. It's hard to recommend a game that possesses any of these negatives, let alone all of them.

Decent puzzler that takes a few hours to finish. The puzzles provide a decent challenge. The setting is quasi-horror, but the game isn't scary. It's easy to figure out what is going on in the plot really early. The voice acting was terrible. Not a bad game, though.

This Game Fails As A Horror Game, And As An Escape Room Game

(By the way, I've beaten this game on my VITA. I only bought the PC version to see what's different and such, but sadly, while the PC version has extra things, it's not all that different from the VITA release. So the 0.8 hours I have with the PC version, I knew what to do most of the time, and made it to room 4 fast.)

DYING: Reborn is an escape room "horror" game where you Mathew, who's trying to find his sister when he received a letter from her. While Mathew visits a town in Harbour City, but then he gets captured and wakes up in the middle of a room. Your job is to solve puzzles, find Mathew's sister, and figure out what's going on.

This story is really flawed and poorly written. There's a good amount of questions that aren't answered (or plot holes), the ending is pretty predictable, and the characters aren't likable. Mathew is pretty damn annoying, he always whines, and he says some pretty questionable stuff at times. His sister doesn't get any character development. The lady in the TV also doesn't get much character development. The main villain is the most likable, but that doesn't mean he's a good characters, just interesting enough. There are moments where the game tries to be paranormal-ish, and doesn't make any sense (Like a Mannequin that smashed through glass, even though nobody threw it.). The story fails hard here.

The gameplay isn't good either. When it comes to puzzles, they're really easy, with one or two where you need to be in the developer's mind in order to solve the puzzle (I, and other had to look up a guide due to those puzzles making zero sense). The controls are good, they make the game playable. You can use items you find to solve puzzles or get through obstacles, make progress. You can click on pictures or other things to put into your Memo, which is useful if the pictures or something is important. Other things though, at times they're just for small parts of the story, but they're nothing worth while. To be honest, there's not really much on what to say about the gameplay of this game, but when it comes to the horror aspect, this is where it fails hard. It's only just jumpscares that are predictable, and low quality sounds.

Speaking of sound, the sound choices/design and voice acting are horrendous. The voice acting is Resident Evil 1 levels of voice acting. Mathew and the other characters sound like they're bored, resulting in such dull performances. The only decent voice actor in this game is the main villain, but that's it. The sound choices/design goes from a girl's scream getting caught off at the end, to low quality music in the loading menus (well, the music was low quality on my PC at least). Hell, the sound of opening up your inventory is surround sound, which means if you're looking in a direction, there's a chance sound effects in the inventory will only happen in one of your ears, until you look at a different direction to make it so that the sounds are in both ears. Not to mention, the music in this game is really forgettable. It's not bad, but it's nothing special.

The only okay thing about this game are the graphics. Nothing groundbreaking, but they get the job done.

Over and all, this game isn't worth your time. From the poorly written makes-no-sense story, to the poor characters, to boring gameplay, to horrendous sound effects and voice acting, to a poor ending as well. It's not the worst game I've ever played, hell I have a feeling the developers put a lot of effort into it, but for a room escape "horror" game, it's a pretty bad one. There are better room escape games out there.

FINAL SCORE: 2/10

These puzzles are obscure as fuck. Maybe that's your thing but it just puts me to sleep.

This game is absolutely worth playing if you like horror puzzle games. I found it to be a satisfying way to spend my time.

Con:
--The controls really are terrible. Just go into it with those expectations and practice a bit when you first start
--Plot isn't great, jumpscares are contrived
--SUPER SHORT, I got 6 hours in and took my time

Pro:
--The puzzles are satisfying
--Nothing is timed
--The plot and voice acting, while not great, are highly amusing and fun to go along with
--SUPER SHORT (for some of us, that's a plus)
--There are extra bonus hidden things!

This game needs fixed. I wish I could get my money back as I kept running into things that when I would interact with them I couldn't move and had to restart the game, over and over and over and over and over again... Waste of money, waste of time. Don't get this game whatever you do.

The plot is not well-explained (unless the secret ending does better with it), the controls feel a bit stiff, and the voice acting is rough at best. But honestly, the puzzles themselves are not half-bad and follow logically without being overly difficult, and the cheesy B-movie aesthetic is great.

For most of the two chapters I was actually ABLE to play, the story was incredibly confusing and didn't make any sense, I had more questions and it doesn't seem like a cohesive story, even hearing the story in full. At one point, I was forced to interact with a radio to progress any further. That's about as far as i got, because the PC version doesn't let me interact with the radio, so I can't continue the game. It's a really terrible game that I regret playing, and even though I bought it on sale, it was still a complete waste of money. For a "Full" game, it still seems like a lot of work needs to be done.

"All I want to do is quickly end this boring and disgusting game of yours"
A quote from the protagonist right at the very end which captured my feelings perfectly.

Now the game isn't a complete write-off. There are some strong puzzles throughout this 6-scene escape room game. However sometimes it veers widely off the tracks into bizarro-logic solutions which spoil the flow tragically in the early-to-mid game.
Also this game has some of the worst script writing imaginable, matched evenly by atrocious voice acting. The main villain who goads you throughout is beyond comical, and not in a good way.
Worst of all, and this is particularly important for a horror game - there are no scares. Not one. And with the game fighting me all the way to be immersed, I just could not enjoy any atmosphere it was trying to create.
An absolute no.

Let's be honest - there aren't too many good escape games to play. This one seemed pretty good, considering the average quality in this genre. I liked the graphics, mood and most of the puzzles (even if sometimes they were a bit unrealistic). And then, in chapter 3 I got stuck. After a while I decided to check the walkthroughs and to my surprise I should have a dart from chapter 1 to be able to progress. No dart in my inventory though! How this had happened? No clue. I'm not going to play 3 chapters again because the devs are so lazy they can't prevent their game to cause such situations. Seriously, all you need is to check the inventory before leaving a chapter to see if all further required items are present there, and notify player if something is missing. No to mention that good games are designed in such way that you just simply can't leave one part if you don't have everything you need later. Dont buy this poorly made game.

Ok, the level of absurd and illogical puzzles can be spotted after only 15 minutes of gameplay.... And it's probably gonna get worse.

I will skip this game, cannot recommend it either.

What a waste of money. This is a very poorly made game that lacks polish. You're supposed to be able to combine items in the inventory, but the instructions on how to do this were bad and it never worked, which didn't allow me to complete the game fully. The story made no sense, the voice acting was poor, and there were grammatical errors in the English on the story portions. The cut scenes were long and boring. I played for less than an hour and rage quit.
