Endless clicker in 1930s cartoon style.

    Liked:
    • + Drawn graphics
    • + Many opponents
    • + 10 heroes
    • + Ability to improve heroes
    • + A separate musical melody for each level - according to the theme
    • + Two game modes
    • + Achievements
    • + Localization into several languages

    Did not like:
    • - Enemies can stay standing after death, in the corners of the screen
    • - When playing in hardcore mode, after turning the hero into an Elite, improvements are reset to their initial values.

As a result:
Pretty nice clicker that has the function of "self-play". And in case you get tired of watching how your heroes can not cope with the influx of opponents - you can help them by destroying enemies with mouse clicks.
The game has several levels that will be endlessly repeated until the player gets tired of playing it. Each level has its own unique opponents, backgrounds and a musical composition that will brighten up the player's stay.
The game is quite monotonous and when played, it quickly makes you sleepy due to the monotony.
However, the game is very well done. All heroes and opponents have their own types of attacks and animations.
I'm not a big fan of clickers and usually have a negative attitude towards such games. But in the case of this game, it was interesting for me to collect all the achievements in order to close this game once and for all.
I do not recommend the game for purchase, but still give a positive assessment to the project.

I've always enjoyed the music and art style of this developer, and I'm thrilled to see them make an idle clicker game. I'm eager to see what new mechanics get added to the game - for the price, purchasing this is an absolute no-brainer. Lots of work went into this.

Forbidden Clicker Party is probably not the best clicker game at the moment but it can get a lot better with some easy updates. I mean 4 achievements for a clicker game >:[. At least make one for leveling up each character to level 100. I am glad that it is not just another static clicker and the animation is very cute. Gameplay is more about defense where you have to slightly manage your party HP. The game needs more polish although at $3 price I would not hesitate.

So you basically get to build a team of 4 characters which is equivalent to passive income as they automatically kill enemies. It seems like there are 11 in total. However, I don't see much difference between them aside from generic stats. If developers can give them some unique perks that would be really good. For example, they could give the dragon AOE or heal for the witch. You also get all of the generic clicker upgrades such as click damage, store upgrades, and few active abilities. After a certain level characters can be promoted for huge stat boost at a high cost.

Overall I like the animation and backgrounds even though it seems like they cut a few corners. Sometimes it feels like certain character does not belong if you know what I mean. The soundtrack is like all over the place. Sound level is either too low or too slow and the music is actually a little irritating. I have encountered all kinds of little bugs like click detection issues and unresponsive menu options. Nothing too serious but the lack of polish is noticeable. Sometimes character's face gets covered with POOF and I can't see the stats ( does not seem to go away ).

Pros:

+decent animation and cute characters
+several levels with unique backgrounds
+party system instead of static clicker
+anytime level change (difficulty)
+speed levels (if unlocked)
+boss fights
+cliker stays relative for a decent time

Cons:

-some small bugs
-needs a lot more achievements
-not enough upgrades
-characters need some unique perks
-sound issues

Final Thoughts 7/10

With a little bit of polish and hopefully few updates, it will be a very good deal. Specifically, I want a lot more achievements. Not great at the moment but serviceable. To be honest at $3 I really should not complain at all. It has a lot more potential if developers want to add some special perks to characters.

For a clicker (idle) game I really enjoyed this; only has 4 achievements, and no cards (as yet)
My only complaint is that I had finished the game in a little over 7 hours so hopefully dev will bring more goals and achievements.

**UPDATE - JANUARY 1ST, 2018**
Since posting this review, the music has started working. Not sure if there was an update that downloaded I accidentally cleared, or if that was a glitch that occured on my PC multiple times prior to composing. While suiting to the stages, I still can;t say the score is all that engrossing, but enough to change my initial thubs down to a thumbs up as it now does feel a little more complete. I do, however, still suggest waiting on a better sale price.

**ORIGINAL REVIEW**
While not a standard clicker game, there's not that much to keep the player engaged. It's obvious this is trying play off the classic cartoon visual aesthetic that made Cuphead a treat to look at, but that's really the only memorable quality. Unlock"doodz", strengthen them up, tap the oncoming ernemies side-scrolling beat 'em up style, and keep on grinding you're way throgh the world listening to the random stock soud of fists crashing. It takes a bit to get ajusted to how you unlock and strengthen characters, but you'll get the hang of it pretty quick.

I do, however, want to know what music everyone is praising. My three hours were met with nothing but the aforementuoned sound of punches contacting if I clicked am ememy. Otherwise, the game was dead silent.

All those reasons kind of leave the game feeling flat and a bit unfinished, which is why I can't hit the recommended button. Don't get me wrong, for what this game is, it's an alright clicker game. I've played enough of them on Steam to know there is potential here. Sadly, that potential is untapped, leaving Forbidden Clicker Party something worth waiting for more than a paltry 5% launch day sale on.

But, on the positive note, no dlc, ads, or loot crates!

This game is so rad. A clicker with Cuphead like aesthetic. I'm so down.

Great game to pass the time with. Better than alot of clicker games I've played. Really enjoyable.

Trash. There is absolutely nothing in this game except for stylish art which the devs borrowed from old Disney's cartoons. It was the only reason I bought this "game" and the only positive thing. Why do I put "game" in quotes? Cuz there is no gameplay here, it's an AFK-clicker which plays itself. The only thing you can do is click your LMB to give more dmg to mobs. No skills, no healing, nothing.

P.S. Other reviews seem to be fake as there is no critisim in them only description and far-fetched pros of this "game".

Idle clicker with (currently) 10 unique scenes of 50 levels each which loop to infinity. No in-game store or other such nonsense; buy it for $3 and that's it.

The 1930s cartoon theme makes this game addictive. The devs have reproduced the cute, odd and somewhat sinister mood of the old cartoons very well. They even got the music right! It's relaxing to watch your doods pummel the endless waves of baddies as you baste in the atmosphere. You can see real inspiration in the characters. For instance, Tex Avery's famous Wolf is here as Wolfson, my personal favorite.

It's well worth $3 BUT my only complaint is that I want more! The devs have already added a hardcore mode and also stated in the forum that more contents are forthcoming.

Excellent game for fans of clickers and good art.

Nice cartoon graphics, but not much depth to the game. Worth a try.

A nice, all be it short, clicker game.
Hope the game gets more content soon!

Bought this game to waste some time. What attracted me to the game was the animation style and very old music, but what got me to stay positive about it, even though the content is very limited and short, was when you get to hardcore mode. Your characters dont respond on their own and you have to think quickly in order to survive. Like I said, not much meat to the game but if you want something to pass the time then it is pretty great.

In short: Great art, boring game.

The art style is like old cartoons, and really nice to watch. But the clicking is not rewarding. And it is a pure clicker, not an idle game. So when you are offline, the game is also not collecting money for more upgrades...

I keep it in my library, as I bought it in summer sales for 50% discount. Maybe some new content will come and make it worth more real time.

This really isn't bad. Aesthetically, it reminds me a bit of Cuphead. The soundtrack is excellent and the art style is really neat, though it could stand some QoL updates (like a way to see the base stats for all of your Doods and/or a way to jump to a specific level) - these are very minor issues and don't detract from the overall game very much.

I balked at it for $3 initially, but I'm happy I picked it up on the Steam Summer Sale. It's probably worth the full price - I've spent more on coffee and gotten less enjoyment from it. 8/10 simple clicker game, 5/10 overall against the entire idle genre. It's worth a look - and if you buy it, maybe the dev will be persuaded to add some more content. It seems kind of short, but we'll see.

Welp, it's not a good clicker. The progression curve is unbalanced and unsatisfying which is a death sentence for a clicker. I'd better play one of the free clickers on Kongregate than this. I get it, the idea was to enjoy the art, but it's nothing to write home about really, the game looks good only until you squint. Don't get me wrong though, I think the artist has talent, but this talent goes to waste with this game. Make a cartoon or something. The game could easily be decent and worth the low price the devs ask for it, but now it's a waste of time even for a time waster.

Smaguris

The art style is very appealing and possibly the best part of this game. The rest is lacking and in my opinion not worth the price point however cheap it is. For a free game I would give it a pass, but a paid clicker game is expected to have "superior" gameplay features that the free-to-play titles don't have. Gameplay is fairly plain and only one additional feature is introduced over the whole course of playing. In fact, nothing about the gameplay features is original asides from the art style.

To break it down, you can select a team of up to 4 heroes, which all have fairly similar stats, and let them auto-attack the enemies. All you can upgrade is character's health, attack damage, click damage and few team upgrades to speed up the gameplay and whatnot. That's it. Whole game consists of upgrading health and attack of your characters while occasionally switching a hero to not fall asleep.

In 8 hours I managed to complete pretty much the whole game asides from couple of achievements that I can't even be bothered to pursue. Pretty much the only reason why I lasted this long is because I expected something more, but no, it holds just as much content at first minute of gameplay as it does in 8 hours.

It has a potential to be a good engaging game if developer added more features, but for now I cannot recomment to pay money for something as basic as this.

yesfun for a bit, but after 100% achievements and hardcore completed, there's nothing left to feel proud of. needs more content. This game has the same problem that chicken assassin had, and it just falls off right after 100% compeltion.
other rpgs, clickers, idlers, offline games have many more features than this game. Forbidden Clicker Party is super great, but I'd still ike to see more support and updates to this game.

Extremely short and shallow game. Once you've reached level 500ish, the game is really over, you jus tkeep going to get achievements, but nothing else new lies out there. Hardcore mode is a joke as well.

Looks cool but it's really stretching the idea of what a game is.. All the work on these visuals and nothing is really done with it. I finished the game in about 2 hours ish at level 500 or so.. i let it idle for a bit to see if there was anything else.. at 1100 and no sign of a game at all.. what a shame really..

I bought this game because of the positive reviews, even though I generally would never pay for a clicker. Mostly this game has helped reaffirm that I should have kept to that policy.

It's not bad, quite. It's certainly got lovelier graphics and a more pleasing aesthetic than pretty much any clicker out there, so if you're just looking for something to stare at that has that Cuphead vibe, probably worth it on that alone. But it's not actually a very good clicker game.

The things I feel detract from it in some part are that while you can upgrade your party's attack and HP, they never get any faster. This causes the somewhat aggravating situation of trying to grind a level and even though your party can do many times the enemy's HP in a single strike, since they can only really take out one at a time the other enemies are still chipping away at their health. I'll allow that could be a deliberate balance thing, but it's not one I care for. The interface in general is overly minimalist... when you upgrade a character's HP, you don't see how much their total HP has gone up, just their current. The only options available are the volume of the music and sounds, which is kind of lackluster even for a browser-based clicker and rather pathetic in a charge-for game... I can't customize whether I want it to notify me of things available in the store, at the very least? Or maybe toggle that 'Max HP' visibility on or off? You can't even dynamically rearrange your party members, it's just dragging one from the roster up to the party box, knocking off the lead one, and repeating until you get the party lineup you want. Not that you have any idea why any of these characters matter other than looking different, if they even do.

Ultimately though, I think this game's biggest sin is that it does something that no other clicker I can think of has done since Cookie Clicker started using, well, cookies: it punishes you for closing the game. There is not only absolutely no offline progression, but your characters' progress towards their next level will be reset, and when you start again you'll be back at the first level, your party cleared. This and the other issues reek more than anything of laziness in programming, under the excuse of "Well we told you it's a FORBIDDEN clicker party!" when criticisms are made.

Mostly this game makes me sad because the look of it is so great, and yet that's all it's got. It's all flash, no substance. Most of the free clickers on Steam are better games, but this one charges for it and gets rave reviews just for looking good. And it's not even bad, just... aggressively mediocre.

I'm not mad, just disappointed.

Really fun game to play! I love the old cartoon art design with the levels and characters I think this game has a lot of potential maybe some more characters to unlock and new levels and bosses. Also the store doesnt really have much in it, and i think you should be able to promote your doods more than once. overall 9/10

Not a bad game but very short. You can finish it in less than 30 hours. I can not upgrade my champs anymore because they are max out.
If you like simple clicker/idle game it is worth these few dollars for 30 hours of gameplay.
