Even tough the company was a money grabber and treated employees really hard most of the story games are really good(yes I almost cried when Lee Evert died).

I degress the first parts of this game are pretty good...

Really nice script and immersive experience contain in this game. The only thing that I might complain about is the players choices won't influence the following stories at all. Still, one of the best games which I've played.

One of Telltale's best stories. Incredibly slept on, glad I finally played through it to experience the story of House Forrester.

One of the Telltale Games' narrative choice games, set in Game of Thrones. It's well written, it matches the tone of the series, and it is extremely brutal. The worst thing about it is that there will never be a sequel.

Good story, looks pretty ugly even for the time though. Telltale Games are so-so. TWD fire. This was just mid: good for extra GoT content but has no bearing on anynthing else and the story kind of leads nowhere so it fits right in for GoT LMAO

Been craving some story games lately and that directly reminded me this game. It still makes me both sad and mad knowing the game never got its well deserved continuation due to fall down of Telltale.

Still thumbs up though, great narrative design. I know some people complained about the choices in this game don't affect or barely affect what will be the outcome. I can understand them and even partly agree about the matter but I think all 6 episodes of Season 1 were purely designed for building up the prologue. For me, we make our hardest choice at the end of Episode 5 and then Episode 6 events and scenes change depending on that choice. We also made very critical choices while playing Episode 6 and those were going to totally change how do we play Season 2, which we never got unfortunately.

Sorry if you are a GoT fan and never been able to play this game. Also sorry for people who played but also realized that we will never be able to eradicate Whitehills. One only can dream of Season 2.

if you play this game more then once, you realise how little choice you have.
I really tried to different things on my 2nd play-through but it felt the same events where taking place.
It also felt like some text wasn't changed correctly depending on your choices.
For example, the options would refer to one person when there where two of us.
I found the focus on 5 characters too much, but only because I didn't really like 3 of them.

Do note, I gave this a thumbs up because if you play-through it only once, it's a good experience.
Play if you like Game of Thrones and want something to watch.

Much like the GOT TV series, this game has its bulk of characters dying on you. No matter what choice you make, someone will die. The telltale series is a guilt trip on your conscience. The disappointing part was the substandard ending of the last episode, much like the substandard ending of the TV series. I would say that the developers were expecting to make a GOT TellTale Part 2, but that all went to shit when the company closed down. Overall, I was enjoying the entire game experience but the lack of continuation to those cliffhanger endings makes me think otherwise. It might have been a positive review if I wrote it before the company closed down.

The good thing is, if you miss those key characters in the TV series, you get to hear from them again in their voiceovers.

Game sorta ran like ass before I got a proper gamer rig. Story is fine, but you have zero agency. I get that GoT is gritty fantasy, but nothing you do matters and by the end I was just hoping that more of the main characters would die. If you get it on a really good sale, then you'll have the, "this is a game," experience. Otherwise, don't bother.

I remember having fun playing this game (even knowing what happened next in the series)

I was just happy to have more GoT content and I really enjoy the Telltale games.

I do think it tried too hard to stay in the realms of "could have happened but wasn't shown in the TV show" which I think made it so some choices don't have that much weight as they had some story elements fixed in stone.

I wouldn't recommend this to anyone who doesn't know GoT to begin with (Might be a more enjoyable experience if you don't know what happens after in the series too ?)

I went into this game expecting to hate it, having played episode 1 on launch and despising the ending of that episode. I hated that the choices really didn't matter and that the game looked like someone smeared vaseline over the backgrounds..........and yet, I played it to completion recently..............and I didn't hate it.

Now, I still can't recommend this game, mainly because your choices REALLY DON'T MATTER and the game looks butt fuck ugly. Plus the game runs like shit, characters lipsyncing was off as I continued through the game and character models did weird things throughout. The story is cliche and only makes the main characters suffer and have characters pull heel turns because it's game of thrones. But the one thing that kept me going, was the characters. Against my better judgement and knowledge of how things work in game of thrones, I wanted my characters to live.....and you know what? They did! Roderick, Myra, Talia, Garrod and my sentinel Ser Royland all made it out of the final battle and I finished with a "Sneaky Victory" ending.

Overall, I'm leaving this as not recommended because of the issues, but I also wouldn't say don't don't play it, sometimes you can find some fun in something like this. And hey? At least it is still better than Season 8 of Game of Thrones ;)

Little torn by this game. The choices the game asks you to make seem very difficult, which felt really engaging. My choices were such that the ending was very depressing. Then I looked up to check for other possible endings. It seems all the endings go down the depressing route, hence the choices the game asks you to make do not really matter in the end, which defeats the very nature of the game. A single play through could be worth it, since the voice acting and cut scenes are well done, which should be experienced. Other than that, I am left disappointed by the lack of impact of player choice in the game.

A gorgeous and awesome game. The voice acting of the actors and picturesque oil-on-canvas-like scenes are outstanding to bring about the real, dark and gloom world of Game of Thrones. The best adventure game I played in recent years and lives up to its name. The game was released when GoT the TV series season four was aired, right up in the middle and climax of the whole GoT saga. The game portrays the key characters with all their own wits, thoughts and psychologies authetically. The plot centers on the struggle of House Forrester vs. the arch-rivals of Winterfell: Ramsay Snow. The game is quite bloody to watch even by today's standard but the song of Ballad of the Forresters comforts anyone's soul enormously. I wish to have more but unluckily, it seems that there is no further episode coming along and the series is simply cut off. Highly recommended for adventure gamers. Score: 9/10.

I really liked The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us from Telltale Games. Without any doubt, I thought I would like the video game of this awesome series without any doubt. But boy, I couldn't be more wrong. Story wise this game is weak. It tries to make that deficiency up with plenty of gore, but with graphics all touched with an ugly slapstick, it fails miserably. Thankfully this game can't be bought any longer in the Steam Store nowadays. I feel bad Telltale Games had to fire 90% of their employees in 2018, but I guess they are better of this way. What a monstrosity.. Not recommended!

Actually a great game, however Telltale going boom means the likelihood of a sequel are slim, and thus I can't recommend getting invested in a story that may never conclude.

I never really watched the GoT TV series, but you don't need to have a large knowledge of the series to play this game as it revolves around other made-up characters. If you don't like games where your choices affect the game world this isn't for you. The story is absolutely great and feels like you're reading a very intense book. Really easy to be super invested in the storyline of this game; I even cried during some of the final scenes of my game! Definitely recommend.

An interesting take on TellTale's part of exploring the world of Game of Thrones but alas as all things TellTale, it ended with a whimper. Play it only if you are a fan of the series (HEHEHEHE) or if you're interested in another run-of-the-mill adventure game

An original story set in the Game of Thrones timeline, Telltale's story follows various members of the Forrester family's dealings with various familiar characters from the tv series in making sure their house endures. Without giving too much away, Telltale manages to craft one of their best stories ever, and the established cast from the tv series works remarkably well within the video game world. Not to mention the game offers up a few surprises that tie into some rather monumental events from the tv series too. As of writing (march 2021) the game is sadly not available for purchase following the closure of Telltale in 2018, but the game is nonetheless well worth checking out on YouTube, especially if you're a Game of Thrones fan. Be warned though, it WILL get messy - whether you want it too or not.

Didn't feel like any of my choices made a difference, and some scenes were so drawn out or pointless I didn't wanna replay it to find out if I could get a different ending.

You can tell this game was rushed and thrown out half asses just to make a quick buck.
Glitches, poor dialogue and pointless choices.

Ending wasn't satisfying either. Seems the game wants you to kiss everyone's ass to save your castle?
But they just shit on you regardless, no matter what choice you make, everyone's gonna hate you.

Despite opening strong and well at a time where Game of Thrones had yet to reach its weaker seasons, this is one of the Telltale games where its linear structure works heavily against it. This is unfortunately a case where the illusion of choice is broken by hasty and unsatisfactory plot resolutions.

One of the best Telltale games in my opinion. There's depth to it - not just answer A, B, C, or D, but the weight that has and the morality it questions. Each episode, and at the end, the game considers what story those decisions told about each character (and in turn about you). It also builds to an excellent finale - the last chapter has many different gameplay possibilities, in approach as well as your decisions in the previous chapter. It does help to have some GOT knowledge; I played the first time before I had watched the series, and found some nuances of the characters and world were lost on me, but still really enjoyed. I have mixed feelings about the very end - but ultimately a great game and would highly recommend for anyone who enjoys story-driven, decision games.

**IMPORTANT PLEASE READ**

Some of you may not know that my company uses these games to rehabilitate monkeys and children deprived of maternal contact as a result of clinical trial and laboratory experimentation. Especially when the case is severe.
When a scientist is done researching traumas on things for the benefit of mankind, or for whatever frivolous purpose they conclude, they will usually discard of their test subject into the bio waste bin, living or otherwise. It is sentient waste product essentially. We retrieve said test subject out of the bin and teach them about human faces and eyes using telltale games. Our hope is to recycle these wastes into semi functional members of society and Zoo's. Unfortunately, it is likely they will feel as if they are going through life trapped behind a sheet of glass and never learn to articulate feelings or speech correctly.
Our program is simple.
We hook our participants up to a saline nutrient infused drip, engaging them in the process of understanding human facial expression and how to interact with others when given an option to tell lies. We mark down everything and 'reward them accordingly' .
We operate in an 18 hour session for each participant around the clock within our underground facility.
There is no separation in treatment or living quarters betwixt the children and animals. We believe here that the communal feedings and hosing downs promote solidarity. It is also much more cost effective for the project as a whole. The scientist and handlers all wear blank Noh masks and exaggerate every movement when in the presence of the participants. This helps disassociate them from the real humans in the facility, as the Telltale characters are perfect and are more in likeness to what god intended.
We have run tests using many of Telltales episodic adventures. However, it is this game that achieves the best results. It is with this game that we have broken barriers of anxiety, stress and dementia. Only Game of Thrones - A Telltale Games Series can push such limits.
The only choice is there is no choice.

'The operation would like to state that we had nothing to do with unrenewed licences.'

TellTale Games Is Famous For Their CSI Series That Bring The Chracters To Life With Their Amazing Feautures And Animation. After I got into the series I was eager to see if there were any games. I was very pleased and surprised when I Played This Game From Start To Finish. Every Action Has A Consiquence and when you play you indeed have to Play The Great Game. Otherwise You May Not Survive. With Its engaging dialouge and adventure story telling this is easily one of my favorite games. The Only complaint I had was that I wished it had been longer. The motion control takes awhile to adjust and get used to but with practice you'll grow to love the tension and drama!

I'm baffled to see so many positive reviews for this atrocity. Even when you disregard the fact that Telltale desperately wants to hide this game on Steam because they just shamelessly decided to discontinue the series, there is no denying that this thing is plain awful. It’s a choice game where your choices don’t really matter and the writing is just abysmal. Everything is outrageously one-dimensional to the point that it got me angry at multiple moments.

SPOILERS

Just some examples that illustrate the nonsense and illusion of choice in this game:

I did absolutely everything in my power to avoid meeting Ramsey Bolton in person, well aware of the fact that he’d probably just kill my character to fulfil the incredible cliché of having a major character death in the first episode. Not only is this bread and butter Game Of Thrones and therefore so predictable, the game refused to let me see through this obvious setup and make choices based on this assessment. The most unlikely scenario ever conceived was programmed to happen and thus the writers decided that what I wanted to do did not matter at all. Even the way it happens is just insultingly absurd. An immensely frustrating start to a frustrating series of events.

At one point in the game one of your two most trusted advisors will betray you. Which one of the two this is, is not based on their personality or events in the game. It is solely based on one dumb decision you made previously: who the name the sentinel. The guy you didn’t pick will stab you in the back. This is so incredibly random and such a missed opportunity when it comes to the writing in this dumpster fire of a story. The traitor doesn’t act based on deep character traits or important decisions that you made in the game. No, they will betray you just because you didn’t pick them in an irrelevant title ceremony. What a terribly cheap way to add drama and “choice” into your adventure. As if I’m supposed to be impacted by this event when this basically confirms that characters and happenings don’t matter at all. These treacheries make no sense whatsoever because they are not based on whether or not you did things according to an advisor’s preferences. The only in-game trigger for them is who the sentinel is. Piss-poor writing.

SPOILERS END
