Good story but could have been a bit longer. I would have liked a ending possibility for Amelia as well! Liked the flow in the game and that choices mattered somewhat but could have been a bit more choises.

Mid. About a 6.5/10. Short story with some options, only a few of them actually matter. Some recycled content between routes. Sexy stuff wasn't really woven into the story well. Not bad overall but a bit overpriced.

Short but fun game where you play a cop just out of the police academy. You get into a fight with another cop and kicked off the force. Your boss uses that to send you undercover with a local gang. There's 3 main women to choose from and a couple "side lays" in the game. Buy this on sale like I did and you won't feel ripped off.

This is just a text-based adventure game, with pictures. Beyond dumb. I wanted to stab my eyes out while mindlessly tapping the controller buttons to advance the terrible plot. The controls are terrible, and become unusable when prompted for keyboard input. I feel dumber for having attempted this game.

Short game. 1st play through took 3.8 hours. You will need multiple play throughs in order to unlock all the achievements. Story and artwork are both ok, not great but not terrible. Animations are again middle of the road. Overall this game is not as bad as say Motherless or Fetish Locator but its not what I can call a good game in order to recommend it. Overall score 3/10.

I don't like it so it's hared for me to recommend it, maybe it says something about it i overlooked, but this game is like reading a sex book and then has little movement for pornographic sex scenes, personally I would have liked it a lot better if you could actually control the person and be able to act out scenes on your own, but this is basically just reading and deciding on certain choices, which make it a bit boring, actually a lot boring, it's just not for me, actually every game that had anything to do with sex is like this, so i think i'll just stick to games like resident evil, COD, Gun, Red Dead Redemption, etc, at least with those you can control the character and play the game. I might recommend it to someone bored that wants to kill time and pay .50 for it. but I will say, the graphics and story line are pretty good, and the plot seems well thought out, just poorly executed, unless it was just did for pervs to whack off too and get themselves worked up.

Seriously way too short. I have played demos that last longer. The Dev takes the mick trying to charge for a walkthrough when you can complete the entire game and all possibilities in less than 9 hours.

All in all a Good Game. Lots of options to choose from, and things that you can do differently. Good renders and scenes. Also a pretty good story, I enjoyed it.

Would definitely recommend to someone looking for a game like this.

Honestly not very good. The AVN space has seen some really good, compelling stories over the past couple of years. This is not one of them. A single play-through can be done in three hours. Too many "bad" endings. Choices are impactful but extreme (murder or don't murder). All of the "good cop" choices seem to lead to bad endings. I refuse to play through as a thug or lend any credence to the narrative that "all cops are evil".

The renders and animations are great and what sets this game apart is its unique story. Unfortunately the game is a bit on the short side. I've done two play throughs in 5 hrs I've had with the game. Still a great game, but after you've played through once you can skip most the dialogue during the second play through and get the different endings. So, there isn't much replay value. Still I do recommend this title.

this one is really good.. About 4 hours long per playthrough, several different paths you can take and choices affect future choices too. Best of all this is a complete game which isnt always the case with AVNs. Plus the story is really good. worth a buy

[DLW RATED 7.5 of 10 (7=passing) ...73 minutes played] An Adult/Story/Choices game, you're a top-of-your-academy-class rookie cop, and you have a short fuse that you're about to make up for. Whereas most Most Choices Stories claim to have consequences, yet shove you down inevitable paths. Is it possible one can screw up enough here to get killed and have to start over??? An interesting possibility. UPSIDE: A simplistic beginning, but it gets you quickly into the mix. DOWNSIDE: Generally, the Graphics aren't bad, but aren't great. Facial expressions are substandard. The attempt a skin texture sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. One-frame draw error; Miranda's shoe, during 1st revisit to her apt. [STAY TUNED...]

I liked the story part of it. That was good. There is enough about it to do a few play throughs. But having said that, I didn't like any of the girls and I felt the artwork was somewhat lacking. The most interesting character in the game is Jack, the BBEG's bodyguard. Above average. Better than most even.

I give it a 6.8/10

It's such a good game, I wish it wasn't so short. After you complete the game once, which probably takes 5hrs, utilizing skip, you could probably finish it again in 15 mins. Branches are amazing though. Animations really good. One of the best AVNs available, except for the length.

Fractal
Fractal

One of the few AVNs with actual stakes; similar to Acting Lessons in this regard. What was especially impressive was that the dialog confrontations are actually intelligent - you can't fling a half-baked lie to either side without them reacting as a real person with an IQ above 80 might (within the limits of branching AVN).

While some reviewers complained about the length, I feel with the various endings it is just about the perfect duration.

You can tell this was written as a single complete plot instead of a string of Patreon slideshows, since it doesn't fall into the trap of thinking that more dialog necessarily means a better story. Given the amount of truly bloated and mediocre AVNs I've seen recently, it's clear that concision and impact (either here or in other games like City of Broken Dreamers or Being a ΔIK) is more an art than a science; and that the authors capable of doing this alongside the Patreon ecology deserve to be encouraged.

One of the best AVN games I ever played. Great story with plenty options of changing the narrative according to your choices. This also reflects in the endings, which are quite variable, and really changes depending of your previous choices. Also, THANK YOU very much to treat the player/MC as someone with more than 2 neurons (most AVN games insist with MCs with no brains at all). I only missed a skip button in my replays.

Andy201218

this game is surprisingly good, it starts off slow, takes a while to get to the point of the story, and many times there are scenes with a lot of text, where two characters are talking, due to this I expected to hate this game, but it actually comes good, the characters look amazing, the animations are great, this game is really good, the only downside I can see is there are only a handful of girls, with only three of the girls in the trailer getting an ending, this game is definitely worth playing, and hopefully one day there will be a sequel to this game.

Meh, I didn't enjoy this all that much. The graphics need work and the characters seem to be awfully similar to characters in other AVNs. Graphics needs work as the bodies have too many jagged edges and size perspectives constantly change. Nowhere near the level of BAD or any of the top AVNs. This needs work.

Kjas
Kjas

Good game with some surprises. One of my main objections to these games is how every girl they meet instantly falls for them. In this game most of them were pro's or people with an agenda so it was more believable. Good cops and robbers story.

Special ED
Special ED

Outside of a few sentences that are so poorly written that they would give Godzilla a stroke, this game is alright. If you like the movie "The Departed" you'll probably enjoy this one. It's only real serious flaw is that it is just way to short for me. Usually I'd like my novels to run over a fairly lengthy amount of time, usually 8 hrs or more. I finished my first run in just under five hours and that's with me taking food breaks and going to take a piss so you can probably finish it faster than that. Game is more of a two and a half hour Martin Scorsese crime drama that an AVN honestly.

Going Rogue is a visual novel based on a undercover cop situation clearly borrowing inspiration from a well-known movie, only with the addition of hot adult scenes between the characters. It captured the mood of these tense situations as well.

Most of the characters are interesting and the choices matter. My only negative would be the brevity and lack of elaboration of the epilogues. Overall, a simple entertaining visual novel for those who like the cop theme interspersed with some hot scenes.

Going Rogue Review

Going Rogue is a NSFW visual novel game that tells the story of a nameless undercover policeman who has to infiltrate a criminal organization…. and there is a whole plot about the main character losing it and becoming corrupt but it’s whatevers. Be aware that this game’s targeted audience is straight males.

Questions you might have if you're interested in playing it:

What is it exactly that you do in the game?

Like in most NSFW visual novels you click on stuff, read dialogue, make decisions over random choices that can sometimes pop-out on the screen… and you obviously watch NSFW short videos. There are also QTEs that will show every time that the main character engages in a fight and it’s possible to lose this fight. Luckily this game lets you roll with your mistakes and accounts for them in later parts of the narrative. Going Rogue has a very simple choice system with lots of paths and secret scenes for you to discover. Luckily this game is really simple and there are no “wrong choices” but just in case you need it, the devs sell a playthrough guide for the game as a DLC.

Will it make my eyes bleed?

It's fine. Nothing great, but nothing terrible. Most backgrounds are bland and boring, models’ bodies are not terrible, but sometimes they look a bit ugly. I specifically dislike the main bad guy suit and how tattoos look in game. The best thing about this game by far is that the character models don’t have creepy faces that fall into the uncanny valley.

The NSFW bits are 1 to 2 second loops that about half of the time are animated in 30-40 FPS. It has great jiggle physics but the poses and face expressions are a bit too lifeless and stiff for my taste.

Does it have a good story?

If you ever watched a porn parody of a police crime drama, you already know everything that is going to happen in this game. From the cliché scene where you interrogate the bartender to the plot giving you all the excuses to have sex with your hot police partner. The characters are bland but not annoying. All I can say is that it is a bit hilarious how cliché the protagonist can be sometimes. The game’s story is predictable, not bad, just predictable.

Does it have a good soundtrack?

It's fine. What matters for a good soundtrack of a game is to enhance the gameplay and the story. The OST for this game kind of does that, but not particularly well. The best thing that I can say about it is that it didn’t annoy me, but I don’t like it. Again it’s fine.

    Does it have replay value?

The game offers you several choices with a morality system that I think will unlock secret scenes for you to “enjoy”. It took me around 4 hours to finish my first playthrough and if I wanted I’m sure that I can get another 4 hours doing the opposite of what I did the first time around. So if you enjoyed the characters and the NSFW bits, you can do it all again with different narrative outcomes.

    Does it run well?

Besides this game crashing everytime that I opened MSI afterburner, it runs flawlessly. There is not much else to say. It’s a game that is not very demanding and I didn’t have any problems with it.

    Is it fun?

If you like this type of game, it’s really fun.

Is this game worth my hard earned money?

It’s not the worst. After finishing this game, I don't have any strong feelings about it. The NSFW bits are not that exciting, the characters are uninteresting, the 3D artwork is not terrible and the plot is predictable. All I can say is that I think that for $12 it’s too pricey for my taste. There are better NSFW visual novels out there. Check my other reviews for NSFW games.

Rating: 5/10
It’s fine, not great, not bad, just fine.

it was good. It does have some issues though, the story is just not all that immersive because of the shortness of the game. I love the concept of this game, I do. Being an undercover cop in a gang is such a cool concept. There is just so much more depth that could've been added to this. The endings aren't all that satisfying but I suppose that falls back into the story length. If the dev sees this, Please keep making games this one had a lot of potential and you as a developer have a lot of potential. Overall good game and I would buy just to experience it. (maybe on sale or if you have money to spare since its so short)

I've already played quire a few of these AVN's, and I must say, they manage to keep my interested, intrigued and going. They're often short, with sometimes very well fleshed out characters and they have often a very erotic allure to them.

Going Rogue however is not that kind of AVN:

Characters: The characters and their interactions don't feel natural or normal. They say strange things and refuse to explain for the sake of the plot. They also fall in love instantly for no good reason

MC: I'll be short: the MC is a dick and the model ain't exactly wow. Maybe his shitty attitude will be explained, but now as a player, I don't understand why anyone would give this douchebag the time of the day, let alone become the best cadet

Story: so i've only played an hour or so of game (it says 12 hours, but I just kinda forgot it was running), so I don't know the entire story. that being said, what I do now is silly and just doesn't click. You feel that the way the story is pushing the narrative wouldn't exactly happen that way.

Sex: I saw one sex scene and it was cringe as hell.

FireSight
FireSight

Enjoyable game with a good storyline involving detectives and organized crime. Multiple girls to choose from and some sexy scenes although not heavily sexual compared to other adult visual novels. Still a very good story with action and romance (or no romance if you want a bad ending, lol). There is a bdsm option too if you like that kind of thing, which I do, so I appreciated the option because I am into being a sub! Good game overall, and look forward to more games like it.

Gorgeous graphics and great writing / story telling, however all girls seem to have some minor deformity (legs, ass etc), the animation is very robotic and the overall lewd ness is boring, the sex is very vanilla, yes I’ve only had one play thru but given your playing a gangster you’d think the gloves would be off, for example attack Zoe and have a mmf with her and jack. I will have several more play thrus but tbh I ain’t expecting the spice factor to go up much, this does have very good reviews which I’m surprised about, demos on patreon are far more spicy. I will recommend this for the story, writing and graphics (stills), but certainly not for the sex.

2 more play thru''s and not a lot different tbh, liked the bad ending where you and Zoe get killed by James though, sex wise it's more vanilla than vanilla I'm afraid.

Don't get me wrong I did enjoy the game but... the player doesn't really get to make real choices. The ladies are super hot and sexy, my favorite is Grace. There were so many different ways to tell this tale. Give the main Character a chance with the girl of his choosing or even a harem ending with several of the ladies. Over all not worth the money I spent on it.

Not a bad little game, but it has some issues.
Game is too short. My time is only as high due to not shelling out the extra cash for the walk-through DLC and having some struggles getting all the content. Which is another issue. Games like this should not require a guide to play properly.
Also was some strange multi-MC NTR stuff going in earlier versions of the game. They have been removed but a few scenes are still viewable in the replay gallery. Could also be why the game feels so short, as the entire multiple playable characters feature was scrapped due to negative feedback.
Desperately needs sounds in the lewd scenes, and animations are pretty basic.
Plot is pretty much a copy paste of The Departed in AVN format.
Writing is not terrible, and renders are top notch, just wish the entire last part didn't feel so rushed.
It's also a bit overpriced for the amount of content you get, so maybe wait for a sale.
Worth a play at any rate, and hopefully the Dev will learn from his mistakes and make a better follow up game.

yeah I'd say about 8 hours of game play the last hour i played was dedicated to finishing off achievements The story is solid and Most of your choices matter If you're not careful then you could easily fail and get the bad ending or get an ending that you don't want. Depending on how you play some choices you make even lock you out of other choices that you would definitely want to make. I was actually surprised when I played because I didn't think the choices you make meant that much but seriously BE CAREFUL. I'd have to say My favorite Love interest but at the same time The hardest ending to get Is the Grace Ending Especially without a walk-through. But yeah Overall Great Game "Ker" Can't wait to see what else you guys can do.

Surprisingly good!

With ~5 hours of playtime it's a little on the short end, but there are a lot of choices - many of which have an actual impact and lead to changes in the story.
The main cast is pretty good and the story is well paced and engaging throughout the whole playtime.

Definitely worth checking out.

I has a different element to it than other games do, and in the genre that is a plus. Choices definitely matter and that is always a plus in these games. It had some minor errors but those are expected at this point, The story is fine if you forgive the pacing (all these games take place in a short period of time so you have to meet and fall in love with half the cast in a week). I am not one to judge the visuals of these games, but there seemed decent, but not the best. Worth playing, and because of the choice aspect replay is an option so I go 7.5/10.

Very well executed. An interesting story where choices really make a difference in the outcome of the story. Nice renders.
This has the potential to work on a series. This is like the pilot and taking it from here create episodes like "The Rookie", "Bones".
The episodes could be downloaded and plaid individually or you get bonus scenes if you play and save all episodes as they are released.
I personally would pay and keep playing future releases... So if you think it could be something worth wile to work, here you have your first supporter.

I have played most of the top visual novels in the erotic genre and this is one the best in my opinion. I appreciate the visuals, the depth of the story and characters, and how choices actually matter and drive the plot. The lewd scenes are well-done and I would like to get all the endings. I hope to see more like this or additional adaptions of this one.

Adult VN with beautiful renders mixed with some police fiction. It works better than expected, though the game experience is pretty short (even with multiple runs to see all the endings).

Well done, will look forward to your next games :)

Although a very short piece, the story holds (to a respectable degree) and Zoe was good enough to make the game a pass. I do see some potential in the creator. I hope to see future projects (and growth).

A nice surprise. An Adult Visual Novel where the story and characters are as good as the visuals. Decent audio, music and enough sound effects to provide a bit of atmosphere. Choices really do matter, more than the usual "choose your favourite position" of the genre. Although the main story feels short, that's a compliment, because it's good enough to make you want more. There's also a good amount of replay value to be had as even your choices from the very beginning can effect the outcome at the end.

Definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this game! Such a low price and such a high level of story telling! There are so many options and the story line based on your actions is really impressive! I cannot wait to play more games made by this developer! Only thing I wish to see would be more video animations!

I said it on the page, but I am enjoying this book. Sexy, stealthy, and the plot is keeping my interest. Love that sometimes, the sections have people talking and I am not around. Like a good movie. A bit hokey but that is like a good movie, too. I could get killed a lot of times in this, so the conversation choices do make a difference.

A great game for the genre, though not as good as Acting Lessons or City of Broken Dreamers. It has quite good graphics/models and writing. The animations could have little been better. The plot/script is almost top notch and will have you generally engaged through the story. Though it does have some cliches and gratuity it is done right and thus makes it entertaining and fresh. Surprisingly it has replayability, with seemingly different story paths. It is a thoroughly enjoyable adult game and highly recommended! The creator really did a great job on this game and I am looking forward to more from them!! My only complaint is could have been longer

Dark Ryuujin
Dark Ryuujin

This is a tough one, because overall it was a fun game, but it is incredibly short and the lewd scenes are limited.

There are three girls in the story where your choices actually matter, and two you'll be put into scenes with if you answer a simple yes/no question on whether or not you want to do them.

It takes a couple play-throughs to get all of the content/endings, but (tab is the skip button) there really are only so many actual choices you're making. When I seek out 'choices matter' games, I'm not looking for the single choice that matters only a few screens ahead, with one answer giving one outcome, and the second another -- it's more, to me, like a conglomerate of ranked choices you've made.

This game is a predictable 1:1 ratio of choice to outcome.

Again, I still recommend the game overall; and I hope you enjoy the content.

I started playing this game when it was free on itchio and then bought when it was released here on Steam. It is definitely an adult AVN with a very interesting story line plus a myriad of characters, some good and lots bad. The graphics are well done and as I mentioned above, the story has held my interest. Even though the saves from when I had previously played the game were shown in the save/load files, I opted to restart the game from the beginning.

SkyKing

One of the better games to come out recently. First off, finally a good story in an AVN game, well written, thought out and designed. Secondly, its a complete game, which is a great gift after playing other half baked, uncompleted games with a promise for more content and developing story for the same price. Graphics and animations are better than most, but not the best as smoothness between scene/position changes are a little sticky. Variety and length of the lewd scenes are good but could have been a little longer and better. Choices you make matter a lot, again, with all the half baked AVN games that recently came out promising that your choices matter, Going Rogue delivers on its promise. You will have to go back to some of your choices to see different outcomes and relationship developments all the while following the undercover cop story. I recommend this game and its a good value for a complete game and good content.

jetway

After completing the game:
I wonder how this can be considered an adult game. There is very minimal sexual content. Secondly, I think there are many gaps in the storyline and things that don't make sense. It's not super bad, but it's not a game I would say you need to have played.

Original Comment: Super Boring start. Tons of boring everyday dialog. I will continue playing, but at the moment, I cannot recommend this game.

Going Rogue is a modest game; in that it is NOT long.
Which is a good thing considering some can get a bit
taxing if you catch my drift. The game sticks to a well
defined script...i.e. it never deviates from the story at
all.

The Bullet Points:

-Animations are proper, art rendering is done quite well.
- Character models are of excellent quality, (the effort stands out).
- Story, art, production & writing are surprisingly superior imo.

A worthy game I would consider a must if you're into avn's.
Going Rogue could use more..."fluff" in its scenes, but that's
a small gripe considering the overall game is a credit to its
developer. I wouldn't mind a sequel! but I would recommend it.

Sangfroid
Sangfroid

Pretty good. The story does have plot holes, but not so breaking as to stop me from playing. No idea what that one guy is saying about a lack sexual content. I guess they just wanted a game that booted up right into bukakke. The lewd scenes make sense, for the most part, and so don't get thrown at you constantly. Animation and art are strong.

Again, the biggest issue are some glaring plotholes,. often patched up with writer fiat (oh this character is going to do this...for....reasons....and not because I need them to).

I think it is worth the price.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk. I will not be here all week.
