This is a well thought out and very relaxing meditation app helping me cope with daily stressors.

I'm looking forward to more content.

I stayed up until midnight for the release of this experience. My initial impressions are peaceful scenery, beautiful music and great meditation guides. I see a lot of replay potential in this experience. Keep adding more scenes, music options and meditations. Maybe even use the environment as a visual meditation aid, such as imagining yourself climbing a mountain to reach your goals in life. Thanks for developing this. I look forward to exploring more meditations.

Yeah, like this for the price. Lots of content. Did a nice 10 min relaxation and it was enjoyable.

YOU CAN LOOK, BUT YOU CAN'T TOUCH!
Graphically outstanding but you cannot interact with anything, can't open a door, can't pickup that coconut on the beach, and so made the whole experience less immersive for me personally.

You can telelport on the land, in the air, on top a tree, below the ocean. If all you're looking to do is sit at a very scenic spot and meditate as perhaps this program is intended for, then you'll be content. Fantastic environments, with birds flying around in some, moving waterfall, rivers. Cannot recommend at full price because of the lack of the true magic of VR when you interact with things/creatures/people in beautiful enviornments. But then again, I dont think it was the developers intent to make it it possible to touch and feel in the environments here.

So, I took a chance on this game, and I must say, it paid off.

Full disclosure: I bought this experience for my hippie girlfriend. She likes to meditate.

I bought it and logged in to check out the features and made sure it ran on my PC as I am running Windows 7 and this game is intended for Win10. Thankfully the game runs and I'm hoping they do some more testing and optimization for Win7 for future updates.

The interface is smooth and clean, though can select the wrong inputs if you "outrun" it or go too fast for the interface to keep up. The number of environments is very decent for the amount this experience is going for. The environments are widely varied and all are in full 3D and can be explored through teleportation. Movement is not restricted to the ground, and you can also teleport and move through the air, giving some very interesting and revealing views on the environments.

There is a limit to immersion though, as no element I could find was interactive. I understand this is intended more as a guided meditation aid, but I think simple activities such as making ripples in a small pond, raking the sand in Temple Adonis, or brushing aside hanging vines would increase the ability to get lost in these environments and find another type of zen stress relief. Not sure if this kind of interaction is possible, but I have a feeling it would be welcome for those who are interested in getting lost in a world.

As for the guided meditation and welcoming nature of this experience, I can say that while my girlfriend loves VR, she has always left one headphone out as a way to ground herself. This was the first game where she put both headphones in, smiled, and allowed herself to go through a few guided relaxation sessions. Afterward, she told me she wanted to make this a daily routine. The smile on her face is all the answer I need.

For anyone who has the horsepower, graphics options and in-game supersampling are included, and effects are applied in realtime, allowing you to adjust a scene for optimal performance.

The amount of options when it comes to music, meditation type, narration, duration, and environment are pretty staggering. There's options for 2-minute routines, 5-minute routines, and much more, with different levels of meditation, and different guides and topics to help you achieve a more personalized session.

There were certain areas where you could "peel back the curtain" and see angles and areas you weren't meant to, but as someone who likes to explore, I actually found that fun. The graphics are well done, detailed full 3D models and are certainly not the same as the geometric cutouts in the main trailer.

As this software is still in Early Access, I am definitely looking forward to seeing what additions and enhancements are made, as well as seeing improvements in the UI and less background noise in the spoken narratives.

All in all, I highly recommend this experience for anyone who wants to get away and find a lot of calm in another world. Although if you're someone looking for a game, with stuff to do and things to win, this isn't the purchase for you. as for myself, I love the worlds on offer here and even as static backgrounds, are fun to walk around in with some cool music in the background. I can't wait for more.

It's a simple meditation program. I would pay for DLC packs of extra meditations. This is an AMAZING program and you need to buy it immediately to make sure more stuff like this gets made.

This is a well thought through game application (I won't call it a game, because it isn't one).

I've had spells of meditation in the past, especially during troubling times... So I am talking purely from my own experiences here (I'm not a meditation expert). But I definitely think that this is aimed at a particular audience... I'll share my views below:

Good bits
- If you're easily distracted like me, then this game WILL help you to learn how to clear your mind. I used audio guided meditation for some time, then progressed to relaxing music.
- When you play this, make sure that you're comfortable. A cushion helps if you're on the floor, or find a comfortable chair. It helps.
- The voices for the guidance are fantastic. If you are the kind of person to find particular voices relaxing (Morgan Freeman, David Attenborough etc) then you'll really like the guidance in here.
- There's MANY choices for guidance that cover a decent array of issues. You can choose to have guidance to help tackle anxiety, or you can go for Zen.
- You can choose between 2, 5 and 10 minute sessions. It gives plenty of choice if you're pushed for time. However, this leads on to a bad point:

The bad bits
- You can't select more than 10 minutes, or if you can then I didn't figure out how. So, you select a 10 minute Meditation, you're placed into this wonderful, serene, picturesque landscape, you're guided into a relaxed state over 10 minutes.... Then suddenly the landscape vanishes and you are back at the menu. This needs fixing ASAP. It completely destroys the experience for me.
- It needs an 'open' mode. You're supposed to try and use the same space for meditation, I think once you're accustomed to the surroundings you could visit without the need for guidance or voices. Just a mode where you can visit a place and stay for as long as you like would be nice.

(Sorry if any of these ARE features, I couldn't find them if so)

There's nothing more to say on it. This game is worth the money and will hopefully have additional features implemented in the future.

This is a fantastic use of the VR medium. This is where this technology is going in the future. Transport yourself to a jungle, a penthouse suite or a beautiful secluded garden and sit back and relax.

For an early access game this is surprisingly full featured. It has 12 environments that you can move around in and many, many choices of guided meditations.

as someone with anxiety and a difficulty relaxing, this game has proven a great aid in helping me to calm my mind and 'be here now' instead of living up in my head.

I would like to see some shorter meditations and some bug fixes, but overall this is a great game for the money even though it's still in early access.

I think what makes this such a strong tool for people like me that could use some guided meditation is that it makes you isolated from your everyday environment and everything and everyone around you. This leaves you with nothing left but to concentrate on yourself and the gentle voice that tells you where to focus.

Folke
Folke

The environments are simply amazing and it does a good job at capturing the feel of meditating out in the nature. Most things are customizable. For example, if you don't like being guided then you can keep everything silent. Same thing goes for the nature sounds and music.

It's a really good starting point for anyone interested in meditation.

I've been following the progress of this title for a while, and purchased as soon as it was available for the vive. I finally was able to spend some time relaxing with the application. My initial impressions of the program are very positive. The ability to put on the Vive, and spend 1/2 an hour sitting high up on the cliffs overlooking the bay, with birds flying around nearby is my favorite so far. The environments can be thought of as virtual scenes, which give you the ability to move around, pick a spot you like and sit down and relax... don't expect to interact with the environment. There are plenty of scenes to relax in, the weirdest being a Luxor type Egyptian temple and a high rise apartment. I really like the crumbling Buddhist temple and the cliffs overlooking the bay. The meditation narration and music choices are ok, but it would be nice to be able to make your own playlist from your own audio files. The teleportation navigation works ok, but there are issues with clipping if you move too far out of the scene "sweet spot". The developer is active in his app discussions, so hopefully enhancements and more content will be coming. While vr gaming can be great, this app and VR Fine Art Museum show the potential of VR outside of gaming... teleporting from your room to a different world doesn't mean there always have to be zombies around the corner.

Brilliant!

Really shows that VR can be much more than gaming..
Lets face it, for the forseeable future we wont get any propperly playable epic RPGs ala Sword Art Online, but we can get these really nice experiences. In a way this is where VR really shines, you get a experience and there's replayability in it.
In something like TheBlue you get a really awesome experience but the replayability is lacking unless you go back in for the relaxing part of the experience, here you get that relaxing part but fleshed out several times over (even if it lacks the aw and wonder you get in TheBlue).

As someone that suffers from Bi-polar disorder Guided Meditation VR is simply awesome, I normally find myself struggeling to motivate myself to meditate even though I know it helps me a lot and raises my general well being for days. But this program just makes it something I really want to do.

I have found that this type of meditation has two big benefits for me.
1) As someone who grew up with and in a way in games and gaming entering one of these tranquil places almost feels like coming home to a calm childhood home.
2) You get the benefit of a calm suronding that lets you focus, and that doesn't get boring and makes it easy to let your mind drift out if you wish, at the same time the fact that you can't actually SEE your own body even with your eyes open actually makes it a lot easier to focus inwards as well and really FEEL your body.

As for the actual meditation parts there lots of stuff to choose from and a bit of fitting music if you wish as well. Setting up a meditation pass is quick and intuitive. The different locations you can choose from are varied and all are interesting and unique in there own way.

But yes, it's worth a buy, do yourself a favor and pick it up and give it a try even if you don't see yourself as the kind of person who likes meditation, do 5 or 10 minutes a few times during a week and see for yourself why it's such a nice experience.

Whilst not the biggest fan of meditation - new world music and American voiced talk overs distract me - I took a gamble on this and have been pleased with the experience - Note this ain't a game!

There are 12 different experiences within this package each of which can be explored via the teleport feature or simply point your controller and move in any direction ( including up ). Be warned if you use the latter you will see 'behind the scenes ' and noticed an assortment of breaks and gaps within the world construction models.

My favourite is the autumnal forest experience, of coarse it ain't real but, when you take off the Vive there is a feeling of having come back from a special place - as I said I am not the biggest supporter of the music and voice over choice but, you can turn that off and enjoy the fluttering of branches and I think birdsong ( may have imagined that - if so it speaks of the immersive experience on offer here.) Note to the Devs, can you please add the ability to select music from other sources please.

If like me you enjoyed other VR experiences such as 'The Blu' or the stunning country Church photogrammery contained within the Destinations app, I would recommend you give this a try. Credit to the Developers who have clearly spent a lot of time working on this product.

Parting tip, if and when you find a relaxing location, find a chair or cushion on the floor and sit / lie back and enjoy.

Wonderful! Amazing scenes! It's wonderful being able to travel all around a scene including high above it floating in the sky. So much content to experience and explore in here. Music and guides are great. It would be nice to be able to linger after the guide is done but very enjoyable as is. Very well done.

I love the amazing nature scenery and the freedom of moving around anywhere within the scenery. Very relaxing experience in fantastic environments. Im not a fan of any of the guided meditations included in this app (luckily you can turn them off), but it is great to sit at a very scenic spot and meditate and/or listen to music or the sounds of nature.

Would like the option of adding my own music and changing scenery without going to the main menu every time. An option for standard settings (guided meditation on/off, music track selection, or environment sounds only) would also be nice.

edshugeo

Great intro to meditation, but I'm saying this as someone who knows nothing about meditation. Enjoying it none the less and probably spend as much time in this app as on most games. 10 minutes in meditation and a couple of minutes or so loading environments per session.

Perhaps slightly longer sessions could be added, as some of the guided meditations seem a little rushed, even at 10 minutes. My exhales are longer than my inhales, and I end ujp not doing as many repititions as suggested.

I'd also like cloud animations.

- Whats that white-fade on teleportation?! Do you want to make me blind??!?!!
- Menus are confusing!
- The graphics are cartoonish
- These off-voices belong to porn, not in meditation
- Make the teleport an arch! Takes to long to find a nice spot...

+ ..which definetly exists here and there
+ Add more audio languages

Not bad, but still needs some work. Navigation is a bit goosey, graphics are good to pretty average depending on the scene. With some sustained development it could develop into a good programme, but for now I would recommend walking out your door and finding some nature, or a phone based app of your choice - plenty to choose from.

The Karnak temple blows me away. Better than the real thing in Egypt today because one can enter it as it looked four thousand years ago. The meditation part confuses me, I am fine with the location experiences. Please improve locomotion and menu/control. Keep creating content like this. I'd pay much more for the Karnak thing alone if extended (maps, infos, better movement,...)

Just bought it and right off it is not woring. Can't even enter the VR part at all. It is like it does not see the vive. I tested my other VR games and they are working just fine. carn1x

Unfortunately as a graphics tech enthusiast I found the sub par graphics too jarring. Whilst my wife was probably more forgiving in that department but wasn't really able to find any of the environments particularly appealing, and the audio instructions seemed not entirely professional and a bit rushed, considering they are supposed to be Zen and relaxing. Maybe we missed it too, but we never encountered a tutorial for the movement and my non-gamer wife got herself into some annoying positions. I feel like a more restrictive approach of discrete locations rather than free range teleport would help here. Also some form of rotation by control rather than needing to change your physical orientation since my this doesn't reposition the menus and they end up off screen. It seems like the devs really tried to build something helpful, but I get the feeling they were just too budget constrained to deliver a polished product to the point that you aren't constantly reminded you're in VR and not able to achieve maximum comfort, which is really essential if you're seeking relaxation or a therapeutic experience.

Mr_Pinkpocket
Mr_Pinkpocket

I can't say enough about how great this experience is. I've run this two or three times now, each with a different 'mode' of meditation, and it works wonders. The narrated voice is soothing, and she takes you on a journey that really makes you reflect each time. If this game was twenty or thirty dollars more, I'd still pay for it. If you need something calm in your life, and you need to find your center (and maybe some new perspective on life), then do yourself a favour and get this experience.

I live in Finland, where winters are cold and dark. If you own a HTC Vive and cannot afford flight tickets to some warm place, I really recommend trying this out:

Get a pillow and place it near you on the floor
Start Guided Meditation VR
Don't select guided meditation track, just select a nice background music
Go to "Secret Paradise"
Find a nice spot
Lie down and look at the sky
Let your mind wander and ocassionally close your eyes
Relax

Result: I have not been this relaxed in ages. Sometimes my body actually responded to the environment and I felt like I was actually there.

And this was my experience without even trying out all the meditation stuff (which seemed very comprehensive as well).

Final verdict: If you have a VR headset and want to relax, give this software a go. You can always refund it if you don't like it, but I might actually keep this, because it relaxes me so profoundly. Good stuff!

Ranged_Archer of annihilation
Ranged_Archer …

I figured this would suck. That it would basically a Steam VR environment, which it is, but the way the experience is put together is really polished. A bit like the Wii Fit mediation game.

I expected to just race through this to see what it was all about and next thing you know I found myself sitting there in a relaxed state.

The voice acting isn't great but at least there and the voiced descriptions are somewhat educational.

It's too bad that the voice overs are always the same. It would be cool if there was a daily motivation from your "trainer" like in Wii Fit.

This game is a breakthrough! Hoping to see more experiences like this.
Pros:
-Tons of meditation content, there are dozens. You can go hours without repeating any, and they keep adding more worlds and recordings occasionally
-Beautiful and relaxing environments
-The headset takes you out of the real world for a little while
-You can teleport around
-Nice audio quality from recordings and background sounds

Cons:
-Graphics aren't perfect. They are stunning, but the ground is pretty flat looking and the textures are not the greatest
-You'll need a good graphics card to get good visuals, otherwise it is pretty pixelated (like any VR game, but it's really obvious when you are just sitting there looking at scenery)
-The scaling is never quite right. You tend to feel like you are floating high up instead of standing
-No interaction with environment. It would be really cool to see the game involve you in some kind of movement meditation, but that may be beyond the scope of this game (maybe someone could make a game like that, or Cubicle Ninjas could do it).

I love it! The enviroments and music are very relaxing. The meditation content and guides are wonderful. Absolutely brilliant, I'm really impressed. This shows the power of VR when it is done right. The developers really know what they're doing with this media.

This game doesn't look as good as the screenshots and videos have you believe. Once you're in the world, the low-poly models, lots of clipping, and 2D billboards will be very much in your face. The scenes can look nice, but only from very specific angles that the developers "intended" them to be looked at. Move around just a little and the illusion falls apart quickly.
Even from the right position, the floor is mismatched and not at level position, always 15cm or so below my actual floor. In many scenes something is also off with the spacial dimensions. Either my head seems to be way too high or objects seem huge and just very far away.
I realize it's early access and things might improve, but at the moment it's not worth the asking price. The overall impression is too low quality. There are better games/application that look much better, are more interactive and cheaper. I would only recommend it for people who are really into meditation. But in my opinion the entire concept doesn't work out. I can't really relax with a heavy headset on my face.

I purchased this back in October 2018 and revisited it today. Despite there being a new course available now, nothing seems to have been improved. The graphics are still lacking, and the courses (including the newest one) are still bad quality. I have no idea if it's fact, but the courses seem to be collected from other sources rather than made for the program. (A significant portion of the exercises involve closing your eyes, or, in the case of the newest course, lying on your back. Why bother creating a VR environment to look at, then?) Most sound like they were recorded in the instructor's kitchens, and are read out in dreary, monotone voices.
Some of the environments are the wrong scale, too.

I was hopeful that there would be significant improvements in the time I was away (using my own paid for meditation tracks with Nature Treks), but sadly there have been none.

Numerous richly detailed environments that rival or beat other similar VR titles, all of which you can freely explore, and this one has recorded meditation content on top of that. Awesome! I don’t meditate much… maybe I should do it more… either way, this gives you everything you need (and more) to get started. Hard to believe it’s still early access, there’s plenty of goodness here already. Thumbs: UP!

The software is well made. Enough care and attention to detail. There are a lot of scenes and spoken meditations. The scenery looks good but this can be a little better if you compare for example with recent games. I also had the feeling everything is just a bit too big. Fishes, plants, rocks all are more than lifesize. Nevertheless it does the trick, and because you get very relaxing visual input as well as relaxing sound, this leads to a pleasant feeling. The movement-meditation option is also nice. So far I didn't listen too much to the voices as they were more disturbing than helpful for me. It would be a nice idea to be able to slow the speed voice down, just like you can in youtube for example. Mostly when people speak it is way to quick for meditation. Other than that I see few flaws. Sometimes I have a little bit of trouble getting my controller to point at the options. It would also be nice to have more futuristic / musical landscapes which are not too flashy. But all in all I like it a lot! There is not a crazy lot of customization possible, but enough. Compared to most games in VR which are nerve wrecking and full of noise, this is a breath of fresh air. The developers also seem to be pretty active in improving and expanding their product, which is also a good sign. Keep up the good work!

I'm not usually into the 'guided' part of meditation, yet I still found myself relaxing while play and I even ended up dozing off while lying in the VR grass staring up at a VR sun.

While the overall quality and detail of the 25GB worth of environments could really use even more polish, the ambiance in each location is still great. With a little imagination, it's easy to appreciate being in those creative VR locations. The game would also benefit from a tidier teleportation system. At the moment you can teleport vertically which can make finding ground quite difficult. Furthermore, the game gives you the freedom to easily move out of bounds, harming the illusion of being in the outdoors. I don't own it, but Skyrim VR and a youtube '3 hours of waterfall and wind noises' video might produce the same effects as what I was looking for.

I really see the promise of this title, but there's a reason it's in early access.

I really wanted to like this product but I am so sorry I wasted my money on it. This thing is full of problems. I had the free version on my gear vr and it also had problems but I saw the good reviews here so I tried it on my Rift, I used it for panic attacks only to find it caused more problems then it was worth.

I would strap my rift on and fire up the program only to have it crash 50% of the time, the graphics are nice when you look straight on but when you move around you see a lot of 2d images. Sometime the sound doesn't play at all and when it does it never plays through my headset always my speakers no matter what settings I change.

My biggest problem is the crashing and lack of support. I completely feel that this title has been abandoned and I would be shocked if the dev will update it further. So sadly I must say stay away from this one.

This was my first foray into meditation and I have to say this was well worth the money. While most people who have been meditating will most likely tell you something like this is a waste of money because you ultimately close your eyes every meditation, I found this was a very easy way to learn the basics of meditation. Just the content alone (the amount of guided meditations) is completely worth the 20 dollars. The environments is just a cherry on top. Highly recommend,, especially for beginners. This was the catalyst that allowed me to start pursuing meditation in my every day life, and for that I'm very grateful for buying it.

Worth it.

A nearly perfect VR meditation space with a very large selection of guided meditations, environments, and music that you can combine in endless combinations. This is far and away the best (definitely the most fully featured) VR meditation app available... and I'm pretty sure I've tried them all. Bring on more add-ons... I'd be happy to pay for them to support these devs.

I love the ability to move to ANY point in your mediation environment... including hovering in the air. My favorite spots are hovering above the trees while birds flock and swoop around me.

Suggestions for the devs
I'd like to see higher quality, more photo realistic environments, but it's a minor grumble. I'd also like to see the ability to turn on/off the meditation vocal visualizations (pulsating colored light) in any area, not only the "Visualization" mode... and maybe a variety of visualizations to choose from.

Every negative review is from people who have a complaint for just about everything in life and are now upset because they weren't catapulted into enlightenment after meditating for 20 minutes. Sad bunch that need this game the most.

The developers created an afforable game for the betterment of other, If you let yourself sink into the scenery and guided meditation the game is well worth it. You can also just complain that the game doesn't benchmark high enough for you or that you bought a game called "Guided Meditation VR" not wanting to doing guided meditation. If you want to meditate, this is your game.

I'm on an Oculus quest using Virtual Desktop and Steam VR, so this may be unique to hand tracking headsets (even though I was using controls, and had hand tracking turned off on the Quest).

This is an infuriating program to try and meditate to. I tried for 30 minutes to do a 10 minute meditation. What I discovered was as soon as my hands were detected by the headset the program started teleporting me all over the environment in random directions. The only way to meditate without a constant barrage of new locations until you are clipped out of the map altogether is to sit on your hands, put them behind your back or behind your head. Even then it might decide your foot is a hand and throw you around anyway. Over all after 30 minutes of try to actually do nothing in this program I quit way more frustrated and angry than I started. I think renaming this to Guided Anti-meditation VR might be a good idea for the developers to consider.

Very happy with this actually. There are so many more options on locations and meditations than i expected. A few criticisms but in no way do they make me regret the purchase:

- The options to turn off the environmental sounds appear broken. Have had to stick with locations with quieter environments
- The different spots within a location are very cool. But also seemingly too random to cycle through. Would prefer a bit more guidance on how they work or how to select
- It would be nice to track which meditations are completed or at least to mark favorites. There is a large variety but some are series and its easy to forget which was the last done. Especially if skipping around

If you are interested in meditating with some guidance and looking for a large variety, this is worth a try.

Was interested in trying to meditate daily, but never really found an chance to get started. Bought this on sale, and figured I'd try out a session daily to see how it goes. It's not bad!

I use a Oculus Rift CV1 and GTX 1060. No crashes, and performance is fine. There is no native Oculus mode (only SteamVR), not that it particularly matters here (there's very little potential for SteamVR to mess up anything, nor has it in my usage).

I've used this 2 or 3 times a week for 2 years - very relaxing!

[PROS]

Performance was good. I bought another meditation app on Steam that took place on a lake. That app was so laggy it actually killed any calmness I had and I had to get a refund. This app on the other hand, ran mostly smooth even with the highest detail textures.

The guided voice is nice

There's a lot of variety in scenes

[CONS]

Even on the highest settings, most of the environments looked very artificial. They look nothing like the Steam screenshots. To be fair, most VR games don't compare well to the still Steam Store screenshots. The ones that looked great were the temple, anything that was slightly dark, and the Hawaii one. This is understandable given the screen door effect that caused more by hardware and also VR resolution which is also due to hardware.

[VERDICT]

Worth the buy if you need to relax and cool your head, especially during COVID lockdowns

Overall, I really like the idea. But I do wish that the audio quality of the meditation tracks were both better, and more consistent. Most of them sound like they got the voiceover subjects to record the track on their phone and email it in. The graphics are pretty good, but they could be better. They're just good enough to not be too much of a distraction, but they also aren't exactly the pinnacle of beauty. But I love the concept, and really want to see more things like this. I also really loved The Marvelous Machine for the same reason. It's beautifully rendered with high quality audio, but there's only one experience.

I've had this for a couple of years now. This is the best meditation program I've ever tried. Having said that, development has stopped. Several of the environments are flagged as new as if the authors were adding new stuff, but it has been stuck in that state since I got it. I wish someone would pick this up again, or make a similar program.

This quiet, unpretentious application is one of the best constructed easiest to get into things I have used in VR and is one of the go to things that I use when I show off the powers of VR to friends. It is easy to navigate. It has a ton of environments that are incredibly rendered. It isn't just "sit on a mountainside and meditate to pretty music." No, you can explore the environments. I just meditated in a Japanese village on the side of a mountain next to a waterfall AND YOU CAN EXPLORE EVERYTHING! I went under the waterfall. I explored about 20-30 different buildings in the village - including inside the buildings. These aren't just one room shacks. They have multiple floors. They have balconies. I explored a secret bamboo glen that I had to go through a mountain archway. And they have 27 of these environments.

And the meditations are top notch as well. They claim to have 16 hours of meditation on a lot of different topics (pregnancy, stress, sleep, etc.) and these are broken up into differing durations designed to fit how much time you have available. You can choose different music styles of background music (or even streaming radio).

This does not work for Oculus regardless of what is says, Community page says oculus support in 2017, writing this in december of 2020 and no such luck. Honestly if you are building an application to help people relax, make it fucking work... because right now ... I'm more angry than when i loaded the app. fuck you for wasting my time.

This program is pretty good. I appreciate that the developers seem to utilise feedback. One thing I would like to add would be guided imagery style mindfulness meditations that sync with the VR surroundings. I understand that there are so many different types of meditations, it's impossible to include them all. Personally, I think VR provides an especially cool opportunity for mindfulness type meditations(or any kind of guided imagery meditation, really!) and I would love if if could be incorporated.

Haven't tried all the meditation styles yet, but it has already proved a nice incentive for me to take a daily 10 minute break and clear the mind.
The voices are good, guidance is pleasant and the various places where you can meditate are proving to be a nice escape during 'Rona times.
I can't wait to explore more of what it offers and go through all the courses.

Got it on sale...surprisingly good quality, you get more options for placement (teleporting in many scenic areas) and music choice than expected. The actual meditation "lessons" are pretty good quality too, not the cheap buck I was expecting. Good de-stress.

To be clear: this is not a game. I've Personally experienced multiple bugs that just make using Guided Meditation a frustrating experience. The volume can be deafening so be careful with your ears.

absolutely wonderful. the variety of environments are great and the guided meditations were good too. I can't wait for them to upgrade the fidelity of the environments in a sequel. It would be truly something special

TL;DR: I don't recommend buying this game because it has been in EAP for too long without any significant update that improves the existing experience or provides a new one. There's a clear room for improvement.

WARNING: This game was published in 2016 as part of the Early Access Program. I decided to buy it in January 2020. Since then, I don't remember seeing any update for the game since today (end of April 2021, AKA 1 year and 3-4 months), still being in its EAP phase.

The game immerses you in several visual and relaxing environments, where you can move in any direction. However, as a "meditation game", you should not expect anything else but the environment with their sounds.

As its current stage, being in EAP for that long with its, still, lack of regular updates, without an option for having a virtual guide or teacher that tells you what to do, just standing (or sitting) while moving around the place you have chosen, and so on, I'm afraid I must say I don't recommend this game.

I am more than happy to review it again if, at some point, all these previously commented points are amended. But, for now, I can't get rid of the feeling this game is just a prototype, and it still has a long roadmap ahead.

Excellent program. Great for my anxiety and stress.
However, I usually use Micheal Sealey for my guided meditation running in the background.
Still an excellent VR program.

It was a wonderful and beautiful experience!
Like other contents, it was very immersive in that it was modeled directly, not just by photography.
If you want to see beautiful nature through VR, I strongly recommend this game!

This is very well done and the best app I found so far.

If allow you to choose you environment from maybe 20 (-ish?), then you select your meditation theme, and most themes have about 10 meditations to choose from in 2, 5 or 10 minutes formats. (Some theme are more limited or have fewer sessions)

You can then select the music from maybe 25(-ish?) choices as well.

Everything but selecting an environment is optional.

On the Index, you can use the thumbstick to teleport to a random location, or use the trigger to teleport to where you are pointing, HalfLife Alyx style, but also with the ability to choose your height if you want to float above the ground.

The visual are very colorful. Think Valheim or Fortnite... well just look at the videos, really.

The menus are incredibly well polished and the navigation is intuitive and pleasant to use.

The negative things:

The graphics, even at high, lack a bit of details for what I would have liked. Again, it reminded me of Valheim. Apparebtly newer environment are better but I have yet to try them.

I wish all the voice actors would record each session so we could choose the voice we want for a session. There is currently no option to change a voice. Each type of medidation have their own, fix, voice. So if you want a male voice for the maternity meditation series, it is currently not an option.

Personnally, I wish they had a female voice with a slight ASMR vibe too. But that's just personnal preference.

The teleportation with the stick is random. Seems like any input on the stick sends you to a random location. It would be good to have a way to go back. Like LeftStick would go back to the previous locations. Sometime I would quickly jump to find a good spot only to "zap" too quickly and being unable to go back.

It did become unresponsive (only once) halfway during the "Introduction" (which is just a preview of all environments), but I had zero issues using it to meditate so far.

In conclusion:

I got a game during a sale. I feel I stole it. This game absolutely worth its full price.

Unless I missed something, this is, by far, the leader in VR meditation.

Fantastic game but may suffer from the OpenSSL crash bug on Intel 10th and 11th generation processors:

https://software.intel.com/content/www/us/en/develop/articles/openssl-s…

Until we have a permanent fix, we have a workaround that should let the users affected play the game. You can find it below.
Step 1. Open "Control Panel" by searching for it in Windows search bar, by pressing the Windows button or key.
Step 2. Go to "System & Security"
Step 3. Go to "System"
Step 3. Press "Advanced system settings"
Step 4. Press "Environmental Variables"
Step 5. Create a new "System Variable" (NOT USER VARIABLE)
Step 6. Enter the following into the Variable name box: OPENSSL_ia32cap
Step 7. Enter the following into the Variable value box: ~0x20000000
Step 8. Now press OK.
You may need to restart your system for the changes to take effect.

I live in Sweden. We have long and dark winters.
I also suffered from depression and anxiety from my extremely heavy workload.

This is often the place I resort to relax myself. Tried to spend some time in the selected environment to meditate a bit.

The meditation narrative is limited. So you can instead independently play your own meditation guide, or like me just meditate yourself if you don't need a guide.

The radio function doesn't seem to work in Sweden.

Can't imagine these 10-20 min sessions iterated to 18.4 hour already.

DO NOT BUY.
The game is abandonware. They put it in early access for ages but then abandoned the steam version. It still gets updates... just not here.

The early access label is pretty deceptive at this point.
If you're in the market for a good vr meditation app I'd look at DeepStates[VR] or Nature Treks VR instead.

The game didn't respect the "Music volume" option because it kept playing the music even though I disabled it. It immediately starts moving you which made me sick and there was no option to disable this. I tried maybe four or five times to boot up the game before it _finally_ figured out I had controllers. All together a dreadful experience. 1/10 because the environments in the trailer look nice.

Most impressive graphics I have seen in VR so far. Really pretty environments. Cons: Really weird and clunky non-standard teleportation control scheme. Voice over often tells me to close my eyes. WTF, I'm using $1000 hardware to be immersed in a beautifully rendered 3D environment with 6 DOF...and you're telling to me experience it exactly like an mp3 file I could download for free off the internet and listen to with $2 headphones? This contributes to the impression that they just got a bunch of guided meditation tracks and slapped them together with cool 3D environments, without any thoughts of creating any sort of unified experience. Which is ok... It's really cool to have gorgeous environments to meditate in. So if that's what you want, it's pretty worth it.
