I'm a IT Security enthusiast and also work in IT Security Roles.

This game is using real hacking tools and hacking flow based on best practices!

This game will let you simulately become a hacker for legal or purpose use. Because all of it was just a game!

Really inspiring, also can give a non IT person a flow and induction about how can actually a hacker access your computer.

Really great Game and worthly playing for those who want to understand Hacking Computer Flow! and technique!

I recommend this game but i recently give a feedback on the game's discord about a bug/gameplay situation. And one of their guy says that it doesn't matter and he was satisfy of the result no matter what. Then i said how implicate I was to the game and he said he was not challenged by a guy like me who doesn't know a bit about this.

I'm a student in programming and also in computing technician field. I know the basics in programming like "Python", "Java" and the fundamental of a computer usage. I said goodbye, quit the discord server and came here to write what just happen.

It seems that this guy have complete all the updates and close the game saying "Done!"

I really would recommend this game, it's very good, you actually feel like a real hacker when you play this, the only thing i didn't like from the game is that i can't low a little bit the graphics or resolution (From the menu, i had to deleted the saved_settings) and for me, this game has a good soundtrack.

I was born in the command line era.
When precisely arranged mystic command words made incredible things happen,
This sim nails that vibe, with sufficient guidance to make it fun.

Addictive game play especially if you bought a mining rig. You can turn on the game, go afk and the rig will mine shellcoin lol.

Nice way to spend your time: studing and not harming anyone.
Not for everybody, isn't so simple play this game.

Still updated, nice gameplay and a lot fun.

I liked the idea this might be a modern day Uplink and it is but in 6 hours I've just done a lot of repetitive hacks and grinding my money up slowly. I'm close enough to a passive income source to keep trying to see if that moves the experience on

I feel like Mr Robot already… or was it Christian Slater?

Jokes aside: This game has reignited my interest in Cyber-security and has me delving back into courses and research for the topic. This is what the game is perfect for, especially younger generations. It shows the topic in a simplified light as a gateway for actual study into the field.

I am really enjoying this game! I have no idea if this is real or if its remotely real. But it feels like it. So I truly enjoy mindless concentration and it makes me feel like a hackerman. So truly fun. I highly recommend this game. I rarely give high marks or reviews this will be a diamond in the rough. You really did a great job on this and I look forward to more updates more content you have a really AAA type game here.

I hit a game breaking bug 14 hours into the game and have to start all over...

It seems the dev has abandoned this game in Aug. 2022. Check the Community Hub before buying.

Otherwise, this game is compelling enough, but also extremely slow... There is a very long grind through some parts of the game and a lot of bugs that make various elements not work correctly. It needs some cleanup and optimization.

Ultimately, I would recommend Hacknet over this for narrative. Hacknet and Grey Hack also both approach system design more realistically. Here, you'll be digging around opening every text file because (for some reason) their "Sweam" account info is in "Pictures/depart.txt". I preferred the more accurate portrayal of system layout and logical locations for files in Hacknet and Grey Hack over the random and very light simulation in this game. Granted, the trade-off is that both of those games have a much steeper learning curve, where Hacker Simulator has a very casual bar for its hacks.

It's very repetitive and grindy. It's a great concept and pretty fun at first, but it quickly just turns into doing the same tasks over, and over, and over. Would adjust my recommendation if this grindiness gets fixed.

1. Endless grind which starts almost immediately. It is impossible to work on 2 contracts at the same time so having multiple terminal windows opened is mostly for looks and running tracertracker tool in the background.
2. You can't skip contracts without taking reputation hit which inflates duration of this game even further.
3. BUGS! Can't switch between terminal windows by clicking on it. You must click on header. MAC address will be copied without last symbol if you use hotkey, if you upload wrong malware file first it will be deleted and you will never complete that contract and many more.
4. In game you spend $3 for fake account, you complete the contract and get $5-6 which nets you $2-$3 *per contract*. Base HDD costs $40 which means that you'll have to complete 15 contracts to get it and 240/3=80! contracts to start coin mining with a videocard. Did I mention that contracts are repetitive, unoriginal and linear?
Will request a refund.

this game is incredibly complex and requires an enormous amount of learning to even play, I would rather learn how to hack irl. Too realistic, not fun

The MSkillet

its allright, grindy yes atleast until you get your first gpu which does cost $300 ive made back $150 in 2 hacker contracts, yes it is very repeative and does feel dull at times but im aiming for the end game and actually enjoy this game, its not as indepth as uplink or hacknet nore is it hyper realistic, but it is fun if your after a slack hacking game, i do like the premise and where this game can be heading with some proper dev support, just a few creature comforts are needed such as window resizing, multi screen support and a few more features, definately has room for expansion but i kinda like where it currently is. I currently have 10 hours logged into the game and i recently got my "easy money" rig up now which is your shellcoin mining rig that costs $350 to get it setup, 50 for the rig, 300 for your GPU which may or maynot degrade i read somewhere that the gpus dont degrade anymore but the game said they do degrade over time so not sure right now but im planning on having the max amount of gpu units in my first rack then build up a 2nd rack, i do wish the mamazon site in game allowed to multi buy things like the gpus or the later on credit cards (i havent unlocked it yet but there is an atm outside so im assuming i get that some time. is the game a grind ohhhh yea, is it fun? it can be ive played other hacker games that were too indepth and felt like you get tossed in too hard and fast this is a slack easier hacking game with no trace record to remove after disconecting from wifi networks.

Overall the game is great, very realistic and a good challenge. really does make you think about what to do and takes some time to understand things. (at least for me) I have not yet unlocked all the kinds of contracts/jobs which are on offer but i have maxed out the updates for the pc itself. making money is a long process early game but once you start mining via the graphics card rig (passive income) money is no object. however it does get very repetitive and a little boring. but overall its a great game just one that you grind for some time and take a break so not to get sick of the same thing over and over.

I liked the game, just had one problem with the tracers. I woulld type in tracermonitor and it woullld say there was one. So I woullld switch networks yet the tracer was stil active counting from the same point. And so once that happened I was good as arrested and woulld lose alll my current contracts

This Hacker Simulator Review is super long but heres the TL:DR:

I recommend this game, its fun, seems fairly complex without being too realistic, has very few/no bugs that I have encountered, the developer has released multiple QoL/bug fixes, graphics are decent, music is good, but the full price is a bit high!

Now for the longer Hacker Simulator Review:

    The Good/What I like:

    • Graphics are decent
    • Game has decent complexity without being too realistic, there are many commands to use which are very easy to use with the tutorial entries especially if you have experience with command prompt in windows/or dos.
    • Has digital coin currency you're paid with for completing contracts to purchase many upgrades for your PC/Coin Mining rig, as well as buying tools/commands/updates, phishing accounts to use, custom exploit DLLs/Libraries/shellcode (which you need to repurchase with each exploitcompile).
    • Music in the game is really awesome. But don't turn on the menu or in-game music if you are streaming to Facebook/Twitch/Trovo or uploading videos to Youtube.
    • There are comedic replicas of apps (Ziscord/Swean), websites (Fishbook/Mamazon/LazyEats/Darkweb exploit/tools page/hardware brands) Im sure you can guess which real world entities the Devs are making fun of!
    • File system is robust without being overly complicated. All folders needed throughout the progression of the game are already there, no need to create/delete folders, and when you transfer files between the PC/Server the file types automatically go to their corresponding folders without you having to select the folder which is a nice touch.
    • Variety of different types of contracts, mostly either upload malware, steal accounts or other personal information (phone numbers, address, Drivers Id, Social Insurance Numbers). Rewards for completion are reputation (progress to the next level) and coin
    • The game has a well built tutorial, that sequentially leads you through the game with game complexity increasing as you level opening up more commands/Hardware and such.
    • The game supports copy and paste, thank God!
    • Suspicious activities contribute to your detection and are done on Wifi networks that need to be hacked and broken into. More complex suspicious activities raise your detection bar faster, on more complex encrypted networks the bar raises slower. As it increases you have a higher % of being raided by the authorities.
    • No crashes, good fps, and I havent experienced any bugs yet.

    The Bad/What I dislike:

    • Settings menu is very bare bones (graphics/sound) You can only change resolutions, in-game music, menu music levels. No vsync, brightness, text/ui scaling sliders, no sfx volume slider.
    • Textures are very moderate/basic
    • Game is only in English, no other localisations
    • Needs more QoL improvements like Text/UI scaling, Multi-monitor support, resizeable windows, plus more (see Lastly - For the Developers section below)
    • No need to eat food to sustain yourself (Some might want this, some might not) but having this need would further open up the functionality of the Lazy Eats website.
    • You cant open .txt files on your PC by double clicking them in the file system browser app and having them open in a Notepad instance. Which would save yourself a lot of tedious highlighting file names in the terminal/copy and pasting when your working with many .txt files. In order to see the content of a .txt file you have to use the command ex. cat Folder/IpNumber.filename.txt.

Conclusion:

Its a fun game, has decent graphics and complexity without being ultra realistic, with some pretty good music, although it needs in my opinion a few QoL features (last update was in Feb). Even though its a fun indie game, I think the price is a bit steep at CND $28.99 (CND $21.99 seems more fair) but at a 30% discount or more I think you should pick this game up if you like Hacking style games.

Lastly - For the Developers:

Hello...I'm taking note of the camera sway animation toggle option and i will add it as soon as possible.

Thank you so much! :)

locc I personally think Hacker Simulator is a great game! However I do feel you should consider focusing on your efforts next on Text/UI scaling. I personally find the text easily readable at 1920x1080 since I use a 56inch Bigscreen, but I can imagine at 4k or beyond the text would be totally unreadable.

I think a few more Quality of Life improvements would go a long way to improving reviews and selling more of the game, my suggestions are as follows:

    • Text and Ui scaling based on the resolution or a slider bar in the graphic options it seems like LOTS of people want this!

...No news on the text size setting but locc announced work on a remake that will include a lot of requested features.

Almost a year later and text size is still not adjustable or at least large enough to not ruin my eyes?...

I just changed the resolution size to be bigger, which makes the text bigger. Less than ideal, but better than nothing.

I would also like the text size to be increased, my first issue with the game as soon as I started playing. It's not that I can't read it, but it just strains my eyes.

on a 4K screen at game 1080p , text is still very small and hard to read .
this ever gonna be fixed ??

    • Toggle for camera sway while walking rather than just disabling it, some people want it, some dont.
    • Vsync option in graphics. Not sure if its on by default but there is no option for it in graphics, saves me having to force it on by making a game profile in the nvidia control panel.
    • Brightness slider
    • Sound FX volume slider in sounds, since there is ingame music and menu music but no sfx.
    • The ability for the web browser to have multiple tabs open so I can easily click from website to website without having to always click home, then the website I need, then back again and so on.
    • The ability to open .txt files that are on the PC by double clicking on them in the file browser, then opening the file into a new window to the Notepad app. Sure I can open .txt files with the cat text/ipnumber.name.txt but to do that I have to do alot of tedious copy and pastes and if your working with lots of files it eats up a lot of wasted time. Thank god for having copy and paste in the game btw lol.
    • Make program windows resizable. Doesnt seem like much but very helpful, especially at different resolutions.
    • Make better Network cards also increase by a % how fast files are downloaded. I think this would be awesome, add a bit more immersion/reason for wanting to upgrade the network card.

Lastly assuming you have time/resources to implement some or all of the above, consider:
    • Localisations in other languages, this could even be help with by the player base/workshop mods
    • Multi-Monitor Support. Probably the hardest thing to code into the game. But combined with multiple browser/notepad/terminal apps open, resizable app windows, and or possibly a browser with multiple tabs, multi-monitor support would be the cream of the crop!

I would really like to see support for multiple monitors. I have so many windows open :P

Anyway those are my QoL suggestions from not only what I feel would make the game a lot better and less tedious but also from many of the suggestions I have read so far throughout the discussion forums. I think the QoL suggestions, especially different language localisations will really go a LONG way to selling more copies of the game.

If you liked this review tag it helpful, funny, or leave a comment!

Only played the game for a few hours, but I can already tell this game is really well made

----------------------------Positives----------------------------
The game has pretty in-depth mechanics allowing you to do multiple things at the same time (to an extent) which can make things faster.
The music slaps, but if its not your cup of tea you can always turn it down.
The slow yet thought out progression really makes you feel like a "Come-from-nowhere" blackhat.
The game can actually be a pretty chill and enjoyable experience, I for one love to watch Top Gear and laugh at how small Richard Hammond is while I'm uploading malware and stealing people's social security numbers.
----------------------------Negatives----------------------------
All thought the progression is nice like stated before, it is quite slow, I'm having to do multiple jobs just to get upgrades to make things go a little faster, just to do the same thing over again.
The game is quite repetitive, at least at this current stage.
You have to continuously crack the same Wifi over again just to get the new password so the cops dont get you.

Other than that, the game is really fun.

The way I would describe this game is "A very laid back Welcome-To-The-Game" Game, Just without the gory sites and scary individuals.

This game is a must if you want to start learning about cyber security.

Exciting to begin with, but lacks depth/content after a couple of hours. The whole game is based around the Command prompt terminal. There's no variety in gameplay. The initial concept is solid and i believe in time there is definately room for expansion in play. There is so much that can be done with this game if the developer chooses to do so. Sadly, the game at present is a typing simulator.

Was looking for a fun hacker game with some depth. I thought this might of been it but as others have said it is incredibly repetitive. Get file. Earn Crypto. Buy exploit. Upload malware. Rinse and repeat. There is no depth, no variety. It looked way more fun in the trailer vid. Tried to give it a chance and passed the point i couldn't get a refund. The game doesn't rlly expand much passed the intro tutorial. It has a ton of potential but the devs seem keen on keeping it Overly simplified. There's other games like Nite team 4 that give more depth to hacking systems and story. This is a bit of a Hard Pass especially for the price.

TL;DR; just don't

if you imagine this game will be like Thief Simulator, Gas Station Simulator or Drug Dealer Simulator you will be disappointed.
Byside from Gameplay featuers, who designed the UI / PC?
Its just awful, i played for ~1.5 Hours and you will spend 95% of your time on the computer / in the UI but it seems like nobody playtested the ui at all
You cant resize windows (would be greate for multiple windows where you maybe only need a small amount of space)
You have to click the "line where you write" to type anything into the console, why cant i just click the windows and type would not been hard to implement imo
Why does the console not copy stuff automaticly when i do highlite it?
Why can i only use one monitor?

Bysides its lack any usefull settings (holy shit the motion blur drives me crazy) does the gameplay not feel good.
Go to PC
Hack
Change WiFi
Hack More
have no more clients to serve and go to bed
Repeat
I dont mind some grindy game but this just does not feel good

This game is an exercise in sunken cost fallacy. It just gets more and more tedious with time, but grind for the next milestone since you already spent so much time on it.

Every set of missions, new mechanic is added, that adds new step to the process of doing the same. Hack x 10 times, use this new tool 10 times, use this new new tool 10 times. And than there is lan hacking that basically makes all that tidium and just multiplies it times 10... Find one specific file in a random folder among multiple coputers with zero clues. Just randomly keep opening every folder. and not only open, use the same boring uninspired minigame to acces every folder. (Or use exploit while you can to bypass at least that level of tidium) Hopefully whith time more diversity in things to do will be added and most tidious parts will be bypassable by buying better tolls.

To the dev/devs in case you read it. Please look for ways to reduce the tidium. Doing same things over and over is not fun. How about after we do for example decrypt 10(20/50) folders manually. Allow us to buy a tool that will decrypt all folders on a server with one pass. Or do it just as a command without having to tediusly do the minigame.

And second huge improvement for me would be possibility to have multiple connections open in multiple terminals, so that I can offset the tidous waiting for everything by doing 2,3 hacks at the same time( taking the risk of making it harder for myself).

Yet even tho i hate hacking, this game actually made it really fun. Almost always i watch youtube videos to learn how to do the order or thing i need to do such as malware uploads. One update i do suggest is making the help menu things a little more understanding cause alot of the help, people dont understand so it would be nice to have a little more discriptive help, But overall its a really good game, i recommend it for people who want to learn whats happening in the hacker part of life.

Interesting game so far. The only problem I'm having is that the devs forgot to put an option in the game to invert the Y axis while walking around. The devs need to open one hand and smack their head with the open hand and say "how could we forget something so simple?"

it's pretty good and as an actual ethical hacker, this is the kind of game I wish I had when I was 13. Sure I can nit pick the simplified commands or the fact that the terminal doesn't let you do recursive ls or even a cd, and that stealing your neighbor's wifi is not anonymous enough to keep you out of jail and should be using public wifi on a live usb where the os is in memory and forensically clean and ssh over tor into a vps in a country outside of 14 eyes countries but it's a game and not real life right? But my only grip is no terminal or os customization? Dark mode on that note pad? green on black terminal? I dig the music synthwave always makes for the right mood. Although the apartment is darker than dark and I cant see my hand in front of my face; I wonder why they got the room right but the OS is bright AF! I need sunglasses to open the note pad. LOL kidding but all in all a solid 8/10.

Better games of this type and genre are available. Anything from 2001's Uplink or Hacknet (cheesy name but easily my favorite) and even Nite Team 4.

I have about 3.5 hours into this game and so far its very grindy and repetitive. Contacts give you missions which are just thrust upon you through text such as, "Hey i need you to upload my malware to the computer at x.x.x.x"

In my time playing the game i have typed commands such as
ls documents
netcap
get documents/liar.txt
upload malware/Bitch_malware documents
Enjoy hacking back and forth between the 2 available wifi networks to "Lose my heat" on either network. Apparently when you leave a wifi network no information about you ever being connected is stored at all.

The game has very little to no hacking, track removing, problem solving, or information gathering and requires nothing more than memorizing the format of the different commands and tools you will be running example: upload [folder/file] [destination]

The 3 games I've listed do a much better job at turning a hacker experience into a fun and enjoyable time. One game listed had me hack into a mans pacemaker and upload a virus... this was great and memorable. So far the most memorable experience in Hacker Simulator was when i forgot to monitor my "heat" on a wifi network and had to quickly hack and switch to the one other available network...
Another game had me ignite a mans smart BBQ grill so his residence could be located by a heat detecting drone.

Missions in Hack Sim have been upload malware or find me the driver license or address at x.x.x.x or scamming people into clicking a link on the "FishBook" website and gaining access to their pc that way.

This game just isn't fun. I don't see how it has very positive reviews.. Please go buy Hacknet instead

I really wanted to like this game, the basics are there but the need to be more polished.
This is the second time i tried the game and the basics haven't changed.

When In the terminal you need to click the line where you want to type, this should happen when clicking the window.
You can move windows around but i could find an option to resize the windows. For me this takes away from the "real" thing.

When looking at the community page on Steam a lot of people have questions or issues and non of the devs, publisher, support is answering or helping. Can't find any info or road map and the game hasn't been updated in a while.
It looks like a money grab but i hope i am wrong cause this game has a lot of potential but for the moment i can't recommend this.

The game is pretty fun, idk how realistic it is though. There are a bunch of mechanics that can destroy your experience, but there are not many. The most annoying thing i've experienced in the game is decrypting files. I'd like you guys to add some kind of auto-decrypting tool that can decrypt all files automatically. Otherwise, the game is good.

I really want to like this game. The design is very good, it is kind of realistic, graphics is nice. But I feel like this game is not finished.
Missions are all the same: they mostly require you to download/build an exploit, log into the machine and upload provided malware. In some cases you already have and IP address, in the rest you have just target name. In that case you search individual on games Facebook equivalent and then run a phishing attack which basically require you to send pre-generated message and wait (netcat is running in the background). After that, you upload provided malware. This is type of mission that is most common in the game. You are not required to do any research, to search for anything, nothing. It is just "run program x then upload malware". It gets very repetitive.
There is active tracing, which is supposed to add presure on the player, but the time is so long, that you are never in any danger of running out of it.
If you somehow get caught, there is no drawbacks. Sure, all missions for the day are failed (the ones that you did not finishi), but all you need to do is rest on your couch and wait for new missions to appear. Not really a penalty for failing.
Decryption. At one point you are asked to perform 30 decryptions of a folder to finish main story line mission. The thing is, you can do it on any folder you want. There is no indicator that folder is encrypted, the content is visible in plain text, but you can run decrypt on it. Cool idea, but not really implemented correctly.
Same with root access. At one point you are asked to gain root privilages to continue story line. Sure, there are servers where you can and cannot get root access, but you do not gain anything from getting it. It is said, that without it you will not be able to perform some tasks, but even when I found a server where I could get root access, I could just see all the files and upload malware without any problem. So, sorry, but this is another cool feature that was not implemented correctly.
In-game shop. You can only buy items one at a time. After buying you have to wait for the item to arrive. This is fine, but it seems a little bit like a artificial way of prolonging the game. I would love to be able to buy 10 graphics cards at one or 10 skimmers, but you are not allowed to. You can only get one at a time.
Story. I do not have anything against the way it is presented. You are a hacker, you caught and eye of someone better than you and he is trying to help you. That is ok, but I feel like there is nothing driving you as a player. Why is he helping you? Why is he creating all those tools just for you? Why are you, the player, trusting him? It is just "here are some tools, perform specific type of hack X times, repeat".
All in all I feel that this game has enourmous potential. We are lacking realistic hacking games and this one is on the right track. But in the current version I cannot recommend getting this game, especialy for that price. If you want something better, go get Uplink. It lacks realism, but it is way more fun.

This game is the best simulator for hacking, very realistic and well put together. I will recommend it to all my IT friends.

I am enjoying this game. Once you have it figured out you can move forward and do good with it. It can be a little repetative in the things you do, but what game isn't. It is fun to imagine hacking. Also, to see how hacking works.

Yes, the tools used really exist. But everyone who has ever worked with them feels very limited in this simulation.
Example: A powerful tool reduced to a single basic function: nmap . And that's it. No args, own scripts, UDP scan, etc... possible
In addition, the operating system is very limited in what it can do. Half of the standard commands do not exist and it is not possible to pull your favorite tools.
(seriously... why don't they implement vim? :D).
What I find quite amusing, however, are the puns and the pseudonymization of certain services.

My review so far shows that I'm probably no longer part of the target group, but I think the idea itself is a good thing. Especially for newcomers to IT security. Therefore a thumbs up from me.
If you are looking for real challenges or want to improve your skills, you can try OWASP Juiceshop, Metasploitable or Hackthebox.

Having a load of fun with this game, would highly recommend this. It's as good as PC Building Sim in my opinion with the sophistication of it. Only been caught by the FBI once but you have to be quick when changing WiFi networks so they dont catch you. It is also a learning curve on how to hack into someone's account if you actually have the skill to do it

Wanting to be a grounded hacking sim, it gets the vibe and flavor down pretty well: I dig it I really do. But as a Game... it is in serious need of a balancing pass. some spoilers below.

fist thing to talk about is the currency. There are two main sinks in the game, hardware upgrades for your rig and software tools from the black-market website. The hardware looks to be the biggest cost, though you soon find that many jobs require consumables (like fishing accounts) that become a small but ongoing expense. Cash sources are from contract rewards, and once purchased and setup, crypto mining. The mission rewards go up slightly as they become more involved (just enough to keep up with the addition of the consumables) but the mining is so powerful that you never need to worry about money again. So you get an exponential (and passive) boost to income while expenses remain flat (you can quickly buy all the hardware upgrades as the linear rise in price between tiers becomes irrelevant ).

Next is the quests: are they meant to be a tutorial guiding the player through new concepts? Are they grind meant to gate progress? It tries to be a bit of both and falls down in a few spots. The biggest so far is when you get access to the hacker group that deals with Credit Card jobs. There are two methods for this: fully digital, by hacking a system and installing a key-log malware, or physical, capturing data from a skimmer. The hacker group will start offering contracts for either method right away, but the tools you need for key-logging wont be available until you grind through the missions to skim 10 cards and then load the data onto blank cards. But the skimmers are only good for a few reads each, and since the shop will only let you buy one at a time and delivery take a bit of real time, this section is a bit of a slog. Best case you realize what is happening just abandon the contracts you cant do yet, but it is a recipe for confusion and frustration.

Idk what y'all did but y'all fucked up the screen Res. and refuse to do anything about it. What kind of game only suporrts 1440x and up. Then your response to people asking for change is "It's fixed, it should be fine" Okay game. Bad devs.

It is good game but it is also full of bugs that destroys fun. For example I have no access to jobs during phishing mission. I have to be busted then I can go sleep and eventually see jobs from phishing mission. It is so frustrating

I only know a little bit about code so I have no idea if this is accurate but it makes me FEEL like a hacker genius and it feels in depth. My only complaint is that some of the contracts can get a bit tedious and repetitive but once you start memorizing the codes you need to put it and you finish those contracts really quickly it makes up for it cause it makes you feel good at what you're are doing. I love the game 10/10

Game has a messed up main menu and gameplay mechanics when in the computer. I can't even change the settings or play the game itself. My cursor selects an option way above the clickbox so the graphical settings can't be changed nor can I accept the call at the very start of the game to progress further into the story.

The game requires grinding same requests over and over again (reminds me of PC Bulding Simulator) without even the option to skip some, otherwise "You failed the job.." and lose your reputation just because. Besides, the game still has some bugs that makes you restarting the game over and over again in order to progress. At first the game looks fun, but it will start to annoy you really fast.

Well I saw this game and was like "Oh this is awesome looks fun and could learn some stuff from it" I mean if you're a dedicated person then by all means play this game! But for those who want to hop and chill and put in little effort this is NOT the game for you. In this game you are constantly typing. Either crack WiFI passwords, stealing accounts, or implementing Malware into a targets system. It is this the whole game, Yes Props for realism but its too much. You are always on a tracer which gives you max 2 and half minutes so if you are a slow typer this can be difficult for some people. I overall and mixed on it but would go with don't get only because most players today are playing games to relax, not to be constantly on a time crunch. As well I recommend to only buy this game while it is on sale. Game is pretty pricey for the limited experience you obtain.

Revan

Got caught by the swat team and now I can't finish my contracts. It just says "You failed the job" and I can't sleep either to get new contracts. So are you supposed to start a new game if you get caught? Or is this a game-breaking glitch?

UPDATE: I started a new game the next day and ran into the same problem even sooner. I've completed all the malware tasks by uploading them (they're gone from the pc/server) but I can't progress or sleep to get new contracts so what do I do now?

I enjoyed this game so I don't want to return it.

I only put about 2.5 hours into this game and got bored. The jobs are incredibly repetitive and it's a little cheesy. While I have basically no experience in hacking, it's something I'm interested in and this game definitely was not what I was looking for. It would probably be fun if you're just looking for a relaxing easy game to play.

TAKE THIS WITH A GRAIN OF SALT!!! this game is fun okay i will say that. im more than likly gonna put about 50 plus hours on this game cause i am enjoying this but i cant let this slide. the syntax and the way the game just throws shit at you and just either exspect you to know or just throw a wall of txt at you is just not it.
iv had to watch about 5 youtube vids in a spain of 10 min cause of the game not telling me i had to buy shit off the market to be able to hack on fishbook or not exsplainng how the hell you complete missions, hell the basic syntax is not even exsplained well at times to the point something that could of been exsplained in under a min took whole min of bashing my keyboard cause the example was just bad or forgot to add that you need other stuff in order to make something work. so far it has done that 3 times on me so far and im only 5 hours in. and worse of all i havent found a way to adjust the terminal to make the txt bigger and let me tell ya. it hurts my eyes trying to read a large wall of txt with such small txt. OH AND WHY THE FUCK CAN I NOT DUE CLEAR COMMAND WHEN IM HACKED INTO ANOTHER PC LIKE FUCKEN HELL REALLY. or why can i not tab and arrow up when i get 2 similar answer im trying to fill in? that would be great!
however i still say this game is great if you do take the time to learn this game and push past the frustating bits. but there needs to be better examples and this game really needs a way to make the terminal change font size like baddly. it pain full for the eyes and i bet that would turn people away from this game.

The game looks good, it's fun even for those who have no experience with cyber security,
the hacking scenarios are somehow close to real life, and music feels good
BUT
- The tasks are so repetitive, you basically do the same task 4-5x times, and WiFi hacking every few minutes is bothersome, same network changes the password every time!, maybe enable us to make our own network, the guy gets enough money to get mining rigs but no router!?
- It takes a very long time to get new tools, hacking rewards are so mean.
- The disk size is no close to logic, I can't see how a hard disk is full because of some text files, adding some storage upgrade options in store would be nice.
- Some user control over the size of the windows, color of text and white-dark theme would be nice, my eyes hurt when I open Notepad, and why I have two screens yet only able to use one!.
- You will find so many files from the victims but you only a few of them, others are just useless.
these factors make the game grindy.
"Cyber Manhunt" game had a little bit more fun and diversity even though this one is more accurate..

Overall, not really bad, I hope to see some future updates.

it's literally the same grind over and over again, hack a computer, upload malware, scan through their computer, while doing that, find an account to throw at another guy, phish and upload malware another 5 times, hack a computer, find a file someone wants, then put together stolen credit card info, swap wifi networks, then go to bed and do it again. Little variety, or the variety takes way too long to get to. I'd love to see more deep intrusion into networks. This has potential to be a fun hacking game but right now it's just a grindfest for nothing because once you spend like a solid half an hour doing shellcoin mining you already have everything for all the upgrades. It's got nice little minigames in it, but the mingames all just become part of the grind.

lots of fun sometimes the code can seem difficult to understand but once you type it out and try it u get it pretty quick then its easy got this game because i got stitches on my left index and could not play my regular games but this one is 99% typing and i can do that without my left finger so its perfect also what you find in the text files of computers can be funny
