Half-Life holds up years later with a fantastic story and exciting action it guarantees hours of fun.
Super fun. Gabe Newell (the creator of the game) is a legend! If your into horror and Sci-fi I reccomend this.
This game is an absolute classic. It still holds up and in some cases, is better that fps's modern days. Highly recommed!!!
"Gordon, we've been talking, and we aren't upset that you're running late. In fact, considering how shit hit the fan the moment you arrived to work, we'd rather you not come at all."

One of my more favorite games, despite its age it is still quite fun to boot up and have some fun. Something i see quite alot of people do is play this game like doom, you are not the doom slayer, you are a scientist who probably has never used a gun. Use your brain for fights, and avoid the fights you can.
9/10, xen is shit

A bit confusing like "where am I supposed to go?" had to lock up a walkthru to understand but still i need to talk to this person and walk up to this door 3 times, but take my review with a bit of salt am not close at all to finish it
unironically the worst final boss in video game history, play source if you don't want to blow your brains out

IT'S GRATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Half-Life is a timeless FPS that offers a compelling story with surprisingly well-aged gameplay. You may want to skip straight to the more modern-feeling Half-Life 2 but you would do yourself a disservice not starting the journey from the beginning.
While this game has large cons in my opinion (like the last few levels).
It is worth playing at least once.
Just have a guide just in case, for when you get stuck and don't know where to go.
And you WILL get stuck and not know where to go.
Honestly, I don't see what the big deal was. I thought it was just ok. Play it if you want, but I'm just saying, this game brought me more rage and sadness than actual fun and happiness.
Wow, what an experience! Half-Life is a timeless masterpiece with level design and game play that still holds up today. My one critique is the final level and boss is kind of disappointing but overall a 10/10 game. Besides the ending makes up for the lackluster fight.
IS IT SUPPOSED TO BE THIS SENSITIVE? Is there ANY way to reduce it, i keep dying because of fall damage...
This game is great, but sadly it has very bad optimization and its very laggy, even in a 2013 pc, especially when using the flashlight, so i dont recommend it
I prefer this to HL2 honestly. The more traditional sci-fi setting is more my cup of tea and this game doesn't really take as many risks as HL2. HL2 feels like it has too many waves and gimmicks for levels that don't work, I always feel like I'm wasting my bullets on enemies like zombies. HL1 doesn't really have any of that, and the gimmicks that work are great imo. Also I'm generally intro Retro games and HL1 is undeniably retro, however HL2 is still too advanced for some to be Retro
This game, a true legend as it is, has set my imagination running wild with a good solid mix of atmospherics, puzzle and action. Not demanding on modern hardware either so if your computer is king tuts hand-me-down, it'll likely still play good.
Half life 2 was most likely my favorite game ever. never played the first one tho, thinking i might have massive expectation. well i ended up trying it and booooooy is it an amazing game, even in 2022 when im typing this. try it!
failed the experiment and brought these aliens into the lab (might be a glitch, devs are gonna have to patch that one in the 2023 revamp where they integrate cryptocurrency and nfts)
still a decent portal, csgo and tf2 knockoff
I heard that this game was really good! I thought it would be ok, I mean, 1998 graphics ya know? But this was a master piece
some things don't age like fine wine. games surely are one of them. easy to see why this game is genius, since it is. but i should have set my pride aside and played this game on normal, rather than the hardest difficullty. it was mostly frustrating and often unenjoyable.
great game, despite its age, i was taken aback by how good the story and the gameplay were, me being so invested into both that the graphics weren't even a problem.
one thing i'd like to mension is that from the chapter Surface Tension, the game becomes an ordealing task, i couldn't wait to get over with it and start playing half life 2 (which i did)
genuinely one of the best and most influential shooters, ever. its up there with goldeneye, doom, and wolfenstein. not to mention it kickstarted valve into the mainstream. there are some annoyances within the game, it feels like there are alot of cheap deaths, and getting stuck on random areas is very annoying, but these are extremely outweighed by the good things. in fact, why are you still reading this? this game is amazing! PLAY IT RIGHT NOW!!!!
This game felt dated when I played it in 2015, until I realized this was the game that invented all of the standard FPS elements I found to be "dated" in this game.
A significant cornerstone in gaming history.
definitely shows it's age, but still nice to check out if you're new to Half-Life
Half-Life: Full-life Consequences
John Freeman who was Gordon Freemans brother was one day in an office typing on a computer. He got an email from his brother that said that aliens and monsters were attacking his place and aksed him for help so he went.
John Freeman got his computer shut down and wet on the platform to go up to the roof of the building where he left his motorcycle and normal people close because he was in his office lab coat. John Freeman got on his motorcycl and said "its time for me to live up to my family name and face full life consequences" so he had to go.
John Freeman ramped off the building and did a backflip and landed. He kept driving down the road and made sure there was no zombies around because he ddint have weapon.
The contrysides were nice and the plants were singing and the birds and the sun was almost down from the top of the sky. the mood was set for John Freemans quest to help his brother where he was. John Freeman looked around the countrysides and said "its a good day to do what has to be done by me and help my brother to defeat the enemys".
John Freeman was late so he had to drive really fast. A cop car was hiden near by so when John Freeman went by the cops came and wanted to give him a ticket. Here John Freeman saw the first monster because the cop was posessed and had headcrabs.
"I cant give you my lisense officer" John Freeman said
"Why not?" said the headcrab oficer back to John Freeman.
"Because you are headcrab zombie" so John Freeman shot the oficer in the head and drove off thinking "my brother is in trouble there" and went faster.
John Freeman had to go faster like the speed of sound and got there fast because Gordon needed him where he was. John Freeman looked at road signs and saw "Ravenholm" with someons writing under it saying "u shudnt come here" so John Freeman almost turned around but heard screaming like Gordon so he went faster again.
John Freeman drove in and did another flip n jumped off his motorbike and the motor bike took out some headcrab zombies infront of John Freeman. John Freeman smiled and walked fast. John Freeman then looked on the ground and found wepon so he pickd it up and fired fast at zombie goasts in front of a house.
John Freeman said "Zombie goasts leave this place" and the zombie goasts said "but this is our house" and John Freeman felt sorry for them becaus they couldnt live there anymore because they were zombie goasts so he blew up the house and killed the zombie goasts so they were at piece.
Then John Freeman herd another scream from his brother so he kept walking really faster to get where he was. Ravenholdm was nothing like the countrysides there was no birds singing and the pants were dead and teh dirt was messy and bloody from headcrabs.
When John Freeman got to where the screaming was started from he found his brother Gorden Freeman fightin the final bosss and Gordon said "John Freeman! Over here!" so John Freeman went there to where Gordon Freeman was fighting. John Freeman fired his bullet from teh gun really fast and the bullets went and shot the final boss in the eyes and the final boss couldnt see.
Gordon Freeman said "its time to end this ones and for all!" and punched the final boss in the face and the final boss fell. John Freeman said "thanks i could help, bro" and Gordon Freeman said "you should come here earlier next time" and they laughed.
The laughed overed quickly though because John Freeman yelled "LOOK OUT BRO!" and pointed up to the top of the sky. Gordon Freeman looked up and said "NOO! John Freeman run out of here fast as you can!" and John Freeman walked real fast out.
John Freeman loked back and saw Gordon get steppd on by the next boss and he was mad and angry.
"I'll get you back evil boss!" John Freeman yelled at the top of lungs.
to be continued..?
because this is half life 2 and its awsome
Without this game, i wouldnt even known what computers are.
Games good. The visuals may be a bit rough in todays standards but gameplay is much higher quality than most games coming out today
gordon freeman puts a new definition to ``mad scientist``
Gordon doesn't need to hear all this. He's a Highly trained professional.
i have no idea whats happening but its fun and very atmospheric , just play it youve got nothing to lose besides if you get it while its on sale its cheaper than a bag of chips

Great game lol at one point [spoiler] you get attacked by the millatary who were supposed to save you [spoiler]
The greatest game of the late 90's with no doubt, very good environmental-storytelling and interesting levels, good design and audio, definitely a 10/10.
its cool glitchy sometimes but cool gg
Never got the appeal, removed it from my library after I got stuck fighting the big dude you have to lure into a trap to kill.
Honestly this game pissed me off.

The beginning of possibly the most awesome series in gaming history
People be playing HALF-LIFE but when its time to put HALF the amount of energy into something they end their LIFE!!! (lauging crying) (dead emoji)
it's f**king better than hunt down the freeman
This is an excerpt of a longer review available at Metrocop.net
Half-Life feels very much like two games in one, although, regrettably, that’s not a good thing. For the majority of its runtime, you have a nearly flawless romp that ebbs and flows from survival horror into full-on action, one that has aged wonderfully if you can look past the archaic graphical fidelity. However, as it reaches what should’ve been a spectacular climax, it instead becomes a grind you’re almost happy to see end.
However, if the past twenty-five-ish years have shown anything, it’s that even the rush job that was Xen didn’t color people’s impressions of Half-Life. There’s a lot more good than bad here and a couple of, at worst, mediocre hours don’t ruin the overall experience. The original Half-Life is still a nearly flawless experience and one that every self-respecting gamer should play through at least once—though there’s no shortage of extra content, from the official expansions to literally hundreds of mods and map packs, to expand your trip to the Black Mesa Research Facility.
If you haven’t played it in a while, go back and reexperience it all over again. If it’s your first time, then grab your crowbar and face the unforeseen consequences of your actions. Trust me when I say that life will be different.
A classic and still very fun to this date.
This game is older than i am and i loved every hour of it. Can be challenging sometimes but the reward is well worth it. One of my new favorites
Have never played HL when it came out. Only played CS. Big mistake.
If this game would come out now as a retro fps shooter it would still be the best game of the year. Except for the audio compression. That's that happens if you try and fit an entire game onto CD.
The Level design in places can be unintuitive since you are often expected to go back the same way you came from which is not something you do in modern shooters anymore. And the bit with the minecarts drags on too much.
As someone who played Portal and CS first, I constantly said: oh so this is where that came from. It speaks to the bleakness that is the real world that something as brown and uninteresting as Counterstrike came from something as vibrant as this, yet somehow became more successful.
10 years after its release, gordon freeman shaved his head and became the infamous heisenberg
This is the best game of all time.
I wholeheartedly believe that we have peaked as a species, we achieved absolute perfection and the 19th of November of 1998 was the day we reached it.
Without knowing it we developed a golden source of light, a magnificent creation which we loved so much that, six years later, we actually managed to recreate it's breathtaking aura, giving us a second taste of what truly being alive is like.
Since then we've fallen, lost touch with that which let us ascend into a higher state of being... but even in the darkest of times, as long as one person still plays Half-Life it will shine a spark of hope which will lead us to achieve true perfection once again.
"Okay, why not. Didn't wanna die alone anyway."
- Black Mesa Security Guard
It nice it has many good strategies on how to handle the game, and also fun puzzles
if you want to peak the experience you shall install the brutal mod
im stuck here i can not go up and i do not know why (53:20)

Half-Life is a game that every gamer needs to play at least once. Although the mechanics in the game have dated and I did struggle to get used to the way the weapons worked, it was very enjoyable to play. I also did struggle with finding a way around the locations and how to progress, so I did have to search for a Youtube guide to help me advance through the game. But apart from that, the way the story was told was cool and I liked the soundtrack. I really enjoyed playing it and I will probably play this game again.
Tell me why i started stroking my shit
A PC gaming classic given new life on steam, Half-Life is a revolutionary title for its time. A mind blowing tech showcase of what video games would become. With the game’s release date in mind, it had me awestruck with just the tram sequence, not to mention being one of the first mainstream games to have every single story event play out during normal gameplay, be it dialogue, scripted climaxes, or just revealing a new area to explore, this game was way ahead of it’s time. With smooth and fluid movement, hectic gunplay, and an ending you’ll never forget, Half-Life is one of the great pioneers of the modern FPS. Screw Xen though, really.

it is good. i like the part where he say "It's Gordanin' time and Gordans all over tham.
One of the best game I've ever played.
Really good game old classic this is yes
this goddamn game doesnt know its own weaknesses and it frustrates me to no end
As a resident of New Mexico, yeah this is pretty much what it's like
during this time shooters were unique and not filled with microtransactions and didn't only make them because they were popular this game has equally great gameplay and an interesting story
Half-Life is one of the greatest games created and launched the industry years forward with its ai
The modding capabilities for Half-Life is none to be compared looking at moddb it has some outdated features but most mods fix it
Half-Life also has barely anything necessary as long as your computer is good enough for 1999 you can run it
It's also pretty cheap so it has that going for it
10/10 play it before you die
p.s Don't use hd models use the original models

I can't believe that this game is for 1998 and for me, who doesnt care about graphics, this game was a lot of fun for me , it can entertain you, but
Storytelling is boring but the story itself is amazing, but i cant believe in this amazing game there is poor level like xen which was one of the worst level from my entire games i played
what are you do here? Just buy the game. It's costs £8.00p (if you have bad teeth) This game has complete blue up the way of gaming. Just buy it. NOW!
A classic game that sadly doesn't hold up compared to other games released at the same time. Hard to enjoy. Story and setting was interesting and I can see why it developed such a large fan base.
Difficult but fun FPS where the enemy AI is much more complex than it needs to be.
Surface Tension is a little too difficult compared to the rest, but its cool and unique sandy look makes up for it.
I recommend it to anyone who is up for the challenge, or even someone who just likes saving every 2 seconds.
The game that made fps games great, with its outstanding visuals, storyline and soundtrack.
Best game ive played this and over the last 4 years.
They really put everything into this game.
Its Beautyfull full of Passion and hard work.
i have finished the game after 14 hours but the full walkthrough on youtube is an hour and a half
hard mode took half of my lifespan away
They're waiting for you Gordon.... in the test chamberrrrrrrrr

I loved everything about it. No reason why you cant play again.
Classic Gameplay that reminds me of when I would play on my old nintendo.
Fast and to the point action, with puzzles you need to discover in order to move forward. cool game.
I had a good swim in some green colored water, although my skin started blistering afterwards, but thats probably not related.
This game didn't age well, I tried my best to enjoy it but I couldn't have fun with it. Too many bugs and unfun gameplay.
Probably one of the best games of all time.
Never thought a 24 year old game would be this hard, love it.
Forever a classic MUST HAVE STEAM GAME
I wanted so badly to like Half Life. I really, really did. But I just can't. And it has nothing to do with the graphics, the clunky aiming, or the ridiculously loud audio. It has to do with almost the entire last third of the game.
The first problem: Helicopters. Helicopters are just the f*#$ing worst. They have high health, and deal SO much damage. And when introduced, they, for whatever reason, are put in a spot with minimal cover. AFTER you fought your way past a horde of soldiers which you likely took a lot of damage from and lost a lot of ammo dealing with. Every time a helicopter shows up, it is either in a small area with little cover, or a large area with no cover. There is almost no in between. And the first two or three encounters, they do not give you the rocket launcher yet. They only weapon that could effectively damage them. (Side note: When introduced, they are introduced in an area where you have to swim in a large pool of water with a shark alien thing. An area that give you no ammo for the crossbow, the only weapon that can hurt them.)
Problem two: Levels past the facility (as in the section just before you see the first 'copter) began to get cluttered with enemies, and the levels began to get... worse. It felt like Valve started to run dry on ideas after that point and just kinda slapped random levels together and dropped in enemies for the sake of not boring the player. They aren't repetitive but just annoying. The puzzles at times made no sense, enemies were in really annoying places, etc etc.
Problem three: The entirety of Xen. There is not a SINGLE good thing I could say about Xen. But I can say plenty of bad;
One- They introduce a new enemy type out of nowhere. Flying aliens that shoot little balls at you. They aren't that bad alone, but for some reason, Valve decided to shove them in areas that are cramped and full of enemies. Or if they aren't cramped spots, they are in areas that have no way of dodging them. Like say a floating platform with no where to run to without losing all your health. They are often shoved in places full of vortigaunts, a high damage high range enemy. (There's a section that is a cramped, tiny hallway full of egg things that if shot, release heavy enemies too along with vortigaunts, which is a horrible spot and I hope whoever made it regrets it for eternity). Also they are floaty, and while their projectiles are slow, they often can't be focused on and will catch you off guard.
Two: The levels. The levels are just so stupidly laid out. They are frustrating, confusing, and overall unclear. A lot of areas are tightly compacted and full of enemies.
Three: The gonarch fight. Nothing to really say here. Confusing and annoying. That's it.
Four: The bossfight- The boss fight is horrible. There is no way around it. It is horrible. The boss (I am honestly not in the mood to look up the name) teleports you around to different areas. Areas with enemies that can waste your ammo. Killing it took me like an hour (granted, this is my fault. I didn't realise you had to destroy the crystals. I had just gotten off the anxiety trip that was the last like two hours so I wasn't thinking clearly) and once I did figure it out, it was still frustrating to deal with the summoning of the flying pricks constantly, and the never ending teleporting. It was one big shit show from beginning to end, and none of it felt rewarding. I wasn't glad to beat the boss, I was glad that it was over. I wasn't getting that bittersweet feeling of the journey coming to a close. All I felt was relief that this horrid anxiety filled hell trip was finally over. (Apologies if my structuring is wonky. I am a bit tired, and equally stressed, so a clear head is not exactly what I have right now)
i am way too invested into the lore of this game
Great game, can be confusing but overall it's a fun game
Just to preface my experience with this game. I was not alive before this game came out so it really means nothing to me. No nostalgia, no real knowledge of why this game is considered so great.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This game does not hold your hand. I made a new game and immediately realized that the game has no identifiers for things you can interact on. So, you have to look up what your key binds are in the settings. This is just flat-out poor game design. You have just loaded a new IP from a new developer, so you’ll have no clue what the mechanics and nuisances of the game. They should have small pop-up notifiers to indicate that a button is pressable, a scientist is interactable, or that a door can simply be pushed open. Yes, this is a problem, you can’t tell whether a door wants you to push a button, push it open (by rubbing up against it), or wait for the sensors of automatic doors.
Dozens of times I sat wondering where I should be going, so I just end up wandering (and wasting resources). Sometimes this will lead to the proper areas, others not so much. Many times, there is a small hole in the wall, or a vent that needs to be bashed in order to proceed. These so called “hole in the walls” do not look obvious, in fact they look like a clipping texture or a dev didn’t get the wall moved down just enough.
Things such as tunnels have a pretty serious problem with you getting stuck on them. Even when your not in tunnels you could run up against something the wrong way and be trapped on it. This has resulted in probably a dozen reloads.
Hit detection was pretty abysmal, which I guess I should expect from a game made in 1998. But there was one instance where I unloaded a M4 rifle (all 50 shots) into a soldier’s head from point blank range. Believe me when I tell you that the crosshair on the center of the head and it did nothing… 50 shots and none of them seemed to register. At that point, I knew to hop off the game for a little.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With all of my gripes out the way I must commend the games creativity. The Gauss and Gluon guns were really cool to use for the first time. In general the weapon diversity is pretty great considering the release date. The mob diversity would still put modern games like Destiny to shame. Each one has its own mannerisms that distinguish themselves from another.
Honestly, it’s worth a try at $0.99 USD. Just keep in mind that some of the game doesn't hold up to modern standards. It doesn’t mean it’s a bad game, it just needs a little patience.
Something I don’t have…
this game came out in 1998 and they still havent released the full life
Pretty decent shooter, some parts haven't aged very well and most of the enemies have more health than they should but otherwise, yea it's Half Life.
Revolutionized the world of shooter games.
Nice Demo!
Can't wait to see how Full-Life turns out!
this game is fun but my parents argue a lot
What more needs to be said? Game still holds up to this day, and is a helluva fun experience, but if you're someone like me who has only played more newer games compared to Half-Life (Like Bioshock for me) then prepare for hell even on normal difficulty, this game will show you why people say that games from the 19"s are significantly harder than games nowadays. I've completed games on their hardest difficulties before, and yet this game gave me hell on NORMAL difficulty. So if your'e someone who doesn't like a hard challenge and don't wanna be tested both mentally and physically, save your money for another game. But if you're on for a challenge then grab that rusty crowbar and wear your HEV suit and prepare for one helluva journey
the game is a classic and revolutionary
This game has a very well crafted atmosphere. It feels like you are experiencing something nobody else could comprehend. The lab environment is almost other worldly, full of strange rooms and surrounded by locations that fill you with questions.
The idea of scientists accidentally unleashing alien creatures into this world is a great concept. But I have to admit, I was a bit disappointed when it was revealed they already visited other worlds and even experimented on the creatures before the incident. Gotta admit it would be cooler if this was for the first time they opened this sort of portal, maybe accidentally, or they didn't realize it could be filled with dangerous creatures.
The alien designs and their combat styles are great. I must say they spooked me through the whole game. One of the reasons is a perfect sound design. It really does sound alien and very uncanny, especially houndeye. Even when I didn't consider them to be very dangerous, they still made me feel uneasy just because of the noises they made.
I feel like this game did its best to be scary without trying too hard. Maybe the older graphics contributed, I do have to say I feel like the graphics just fit this game perfectly. I would say it's very ingenious design-wise, they knew what they could create and chose the best possible setting.
Gameplay-wise, there were some parts the game could get a bit challenging, but that's one of the best things about older games – not expecting the player to be a total dumbass. Also, clearing the challenges was satisfying, because the story was interesting and I just wanted to see more. The aliens got progressively stronger, constantly bringing new enemy types, and I really enjoyed that. I do have to say I preferred battling the aliens than H.E.C.U. though. They just got a bit boring after some time.
There's a wide variety of weapons and I think they were all well-balanced as I constantly swapped them around. Getting some alien weaponry was cool as well. The hive-hand was super fun to use, even thought it sometimes murdered some guard I needed to progress.
I just really enjoyed this setting of you travelling through this giant mysterious facility, meeting random people from time to time, trying to figure out what's going on, resolving issues and progressively realizing you aren't just trying to save yourself from aliens, but from god knows what.
Ending it off in the alien world was a great finish. Once again, a great atmosphere, well designed otherworld. Meeting the big boss aliens like Gonarch or the Nihilanth was exciting, even though the final boss wasn't as hard as I expected. But it was still a great and satisfying ending, and I wish it truly ended there. Supernatural ending for a supernatural game. I played it for the first time two weeks ago, I cannot stop thinking about it, and I would rather pretend it doesn't have a sequel, which I played after.
Also, bullsquid is the best creature. Why there's no official bullsquid merch is beyond me.
godly piece of work considering it was released in 1998
Game is alright played it in july 2021 and didnt finish it until yesterday july 16th 2022
For me, this game defined an entirely new experience on PC in 1998. Nothing was the same after I installed Half-Life for the first time. A true classic to return to, time and time again.
magnificent microwaved casserole
A geek who has probably never fired a gun beats, shoots, and burns his way through hoards of aliens and zombies, single handedly takes down the United States military, travels through dimensions and kills god. Whats your excuse to not go outside?
It's still a masterpiece. It still holds up.
good gameplay and a great story
me gusto :)
I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS GAME
S T A H P/10, not enough S T A H P
but for real this is easily one of the best shooter games, no, GAMES of all time!
amazing game, an absolute classic, this has a better storyline than any anime ever, but i bet it would be twice as good with the other half
i know half life is a classic i just never played it. really good game.
I am not disliking this game because of the game but the game simply doesn't work for me, I have tested it on both a beefy Windows 10 computer and a very weak Linux mint setup and on neither does it work properly.
I loved half-life 2 though, amazing game. If you end up wanting to skip this game in the series like me, it's still possible to enjoy the sequel. If I ever get this game working I'll update my review.
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAH
well......we have to play it one day (#Rememberfreeman play it on august 14th shut up and do it)
The game is over 20 years old and still holds up.
Great game but alien controllers can fuck right off
inte hela livet för att oskar har lukemia
biraz oynadım güzel gibi duruyor
Why are you even looking at reviews for Half-Life?
Worth your time and money. 7/10
This game got ballin soundtrack
The Game would have been fine if it wasnt so outdated, running it on a modern pc is awful since the game randomly just stops working, for a few seconds, and the audio is obnoxius, play black mesa if you want to experience what ppl felt when they played halflife when it was first released
People will hate me for this, however, i didnt enjoy Half-Life.
I got stuck multiple times, as in, IN the ground or an elevator.
Multiple times i got lost in the level, because you need to go to a specific place, that doesn't stand out at all. An example of it, is the "surface tension" level with the broken building, where you need to jump to a doorway. However, there is a 2nd one, where there's nothing in it, so you just assume there is nothing.
But yeah... I can see how it was better earlier.
I don't have time for a review, I'm late for work
This is an incredible game, from an era of gaming that is sadly lost to time.
I literally made a new account just to play half life 1, i have 3k hours on that account and have beaten the game over 40 times
Best FPS ever created
Fun combat
Good Story
and Good Graphics for the time
Although it's not my favorite game out of the Half-Life series, it still is pretty good itself. The game controls are pretty clunky too, but yet this is a game from the past, so this was pretty impressive before. It's a good 6/10.
I freaking love this game, I love to kill all the science team even though I can't progress the main story
10/10
I don't need to add more
Great gameplay and visual style. Has that awesome 90's aesthetic.
Half-LIfe is a game made by Valve and it takes main character, Gordon Freeman, across many areas and has him uncovering Black Mesa and its secrets. I don't need to say much, play this game, seriously. It's amazing and really fun. Not to mention the very unique and interesting storyline, music, and characters. The game was made in 1998 and still holds up for the most part. I had major difficulties with the final boss fight and some other areas as well but it was still great overall. The game does take a bit to pick up and it can get repetitive at times but it's 100% worth it. Overall, a great game and a 9/10.
for a game the same age as me it's pretty neat. i've only played 6.9 hours so far but i have like 69420 hours in half-life 2/portal/portal 2/team fortress 2 so i'm pretty well-versed in the half-life world. i'd say give this game a play if you like half-life 2. it's cool because it gives the backstory of black mesa and xen and everything. but yeah, it's not great but it's pretty good for when it came out and without it there would be no half-life 2 or portal so. it's like an 8/10 which is better than a 69/420.
gordon looks like walter white
Fuck Xen all my homies hate Xen.
