Don't bother playing if you are not in a full party.
Even then, It's going to be fun for an hour or so,
afterward it becomes practically more fun to do chores/cleaning in real life.
Also the last time that game was updated was a year ago?
Feels like a cash grab, I wouldn't pay more than a dollar to play this game.
It's a fun game with friends. Pretty good game for the price. Definitely has areas it can improve though. The demon on each map has some unpolished patrolling patterns that could use some work. I think the demon could also use a cooldown after capturing someone. Beyond that, a new map would be nice.
A nice fun little game to play with a friend. The game is challenging and once you know the map, all you have to do is avoid trap along with the ghost. Was good. Liked the collectibles too. Got them all! (Besides the kitty)
lord jesus the fucking monsters play like bronze chinese players that need wallhacks to even perform well. the monster seems to always know where you are even when you hide. it tries hard to be the next pacify but the monster is just shit not too enjoyable. there was a point in time where my scaredyness turned into just raw tilt. but the challenge was good i wish the monster was smarter not wall hacked,
It's something between cleaning-relax and random heart-attack. If you are a masochist - play it 🙃
my friends betraying me and me getting murdered and screaming because of it
10/10
Loved it ngl! Just needs to update with something and i'd continue playing!
Me and my homie Screaming at every encounter with the Ghost, had fun would recommend
game was overall fun , had fun but the game is supper Grindy for a pretty crap payoff , worth the price though for a few hours of fun
Cleaning Simulator: Horror Edition
In Hellcoming your goal is to exorcise a demon by destroying an artifact. Before you can do that though you have to clean the entire building with a vacuum cleaner, a brush and other tools while avoiding the demon.
It doesn’t seem like it’s possible to hide from the demon once it is after you, so the only way to avoid an incredibly loud jumpscare (that gets really annoying after a while) is to run to the exit as fast as possible.
Cleaning the entire building takes quite long and finding that last puddle of blood or black goop on the wall can be frustrating when the demon constantly chases you out of the building.
It’s fun with two or three other people but I wouldn’t recommend playing this alone (that would take forever)
Still, for its low price I’d say it’s definitely worth it. The two maps are well designed, it's easy to get all of the achievements and we certainly got a few hours of fun out of it.
This cleaning session is actually fun.
Unfortunately there are only 2 maps and the cursed mess always spawns at the same place. Also there was no upadte since xmass 2021, so definitely try this game when its on sale, but the lobby and the game are dead.
When the game says "Co-op" Horror game, it MEANS Co-op. The maps objectives are static, so you can definitely plan an efficient way of clearing them, which might enable a single player to complete the maps objectives... but the baddies make it proper difficult, even for a group. At first they start out slow, but they quickly speed up. There seems to be a pattern to their movement, but I haven't figured it out yet. Every time I think I have it pinned down, the thing changes its pathing.
Overall, the game is fun. My friends and I look forward to future updates.
shit be lit when the ghost yells in your ear!
literally trash, the discord is a joke, and theres no information about anything we had problems playing this thing and not a single person was there to help anywhere we found it ourselves
Sadly the game has been abandoned but it's well worth the small amount of money they charge for this. Just wish there were more levels.
You'll need some friends as well as it's near impossible to complete on your own.
I tried to have fun while playing this game. But sorry I couldn't.
The game gives you various tasks to perform at the contract's place. The idea is that you have to destroy an evil demon artifact, and to do so, first you need to "clean the place". Cleaning the place involves doing 5 types of tasks several times. For example, cleaning puddles of dark matter or burning evil dolls.
The problem is that doing these tasks is EXTREMELY tedious.
First, there are a lot of tasks. And i mean A LOT. I don't recall the exact number but you have to perform the cleaning puddles type of task like 32 times. This alone just takes too long to do and by the time you've done it 20 times is not fun anymore. And you have to repeat that 5 times with each type of task.
Then there's the problem that, to do each type of task, you have to use a specific type of gadget, which wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't because you can only carry ONE ITEM at a time. If you're cleaning a puddle of dark matter with the vacuum cleaner gadget and you want to do another task you have to DROP the item and GO BACK to the beggining to pick another item to do the other task.
On top of this, the gadgets have limited usage. For a single task I consumed 5 gadgets. This means going back to the beggining 5 times to get the same gadget to perform the same task.
Also when you're left with only one or two things to clean of a certain type it can be really hard to find them. They somewhat tried to fix this by including a gadget that detects the dirty stuff to clean, but this thing activates with everything. So it will beep the same way no matter if it detects the last dark puddle you need to clean or an evil doll. So the detector is basically useless. Also by carrying the detector you prevent yourself to carry the gadget you need to clean the stuff at the place. Fantastic.
But wait there's more, we haven't even talked about the monster yet!
The monster will basically roam free slowly all around the place, and if it sees you it will chase you, and if it gets you, you get killed and sent to a place which is like a prison, and other teammate has to open the door so you can continue playing. When the monster kills you, you drop the item, which you can guess isn't the best but oh well. But the monster also "hurts" you. And when you're hurt, you can't run. How can you heal? Well, you have to GO BACK TO THE FREAKING BEGGINING AND PICK THE HEALING TUBE SO YOU CAN WALK NORMALLY AGAIN. If this isn't tedious, I don't know what else could be.
BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE. The monster runs at the SAME SPEED AS YOU. This means that either you do the perfect speedrunning walk to the beggining or you're dead. Also you cannot hide, because there are no hiding spots. You can close a door behind you and the monster will open it.
As you can see, you'll spend 95% of the time running around and backtracking to the truck where you get the items you need to do boring stuff the game wants you to do.
Really boring and tedious overall
To end on a positive note, I liked some VFX and particles on a couple places, those were nice.
I only ever played it once and it was annoyingly tedious. I don't like that it is impossible to solo play, given the monster locks you in a cell that you cannot escape from. You can't really outrun it, and you can't even hide from it. The fact you have to swap 5 or six things, if you count the aid kit - just adds to frustration and the desire to close the game.
I don't know what else I expected for 5.00 - so I guess there is that.
At least this isn't expensive garbage.
Good game, kinda small but a lot of fun and a good challenge. Hope we can see more content added.
Lots of fun, wished it had more maps, can be laggy sometime but so much fun
Cons: Clean demonic shit.
Cons: No inverted mouse.
Pros: CLEAN YOUR ROOM BEFORE YOU GET POSSESSED
It's like House Flipper and Ghost Exorcism, Inc. had an adorable little baby. I can't wait for more contracts to play!!! I'd love to see more content from this. Not a lot of replayability at the moment, but it was well worth it. Very addictive and satisfying- something surprising considering that it also has jumpscares! An odd genre combination that I am here for! I also wish the closing scenes had more of an oomph or celebratory ending, but far be it from me to judge since I can't make games! lol I'd also love to see customization or rewards for beating the contracts :)
it is more tedious than anything else. gets VERY boring VERY fast. do not recommend.
Refunded kinda boring and lack of updates
if it's like a dolar in a sale buy it, otherwise don't, playing with my partner made the game funny, but standalone it has some bugs and really boring mechanics.
While this game is fun there are some major bugs that need to be fixed before I would think to recommend it. First and foremost is that the screen reading out what you have to do glitched so bad that it still said we had objectives to meet for destroying the five sigils before we could think to destroy the ruin. If that is how we measure how much more we have to do then it becomes confusing when just basic text states that we can go destroy the ruin. The ending was very anticlimactic when you succeed versus when you die. The front doors of the school bugged so we had to walk through them for a few minutes after they had been locked off by the demon. It does have a fun challenge, though, if you're a team of four. We were three and since you drop everything when you die, you have to go back and pick things up. This was fun. However, it became tedious when the black smoke wouldn't disappear or shift away for a minute or two but would keep trying to hunt you down as you were searching for things to cleanse and you would hit it with the UV light.
Ultimately, I would definitely change my recommendation if the game continues to update, fix it's bugs, and alter some of the game play. As it stands currently the game is a one and done. I wouldn't go back the same way I would with other horror co-op games.
This game was a headache to play, even with friends. Entire cleanup mechanic was frustrating and tedious, turned what should have been a fun 10 minute game into an hour long game that I couldn't wait to be over.
Immediately refunded and have no intention of playing again.
Unless the game gets a massive revamp, do not buy
that funny game for me and friends can play nonstop cuz u dont feel how fast time is going *Recommend*
eventually the demon just stopped spawning and instead a black cloud would spawn every 10 seconds and block your vision. i think it was just a glitch but i just dont really like the game at all.
More intense and better than phasmophobia and at least now we can revive our friends
A really good example for a great indie horror game. It needs more content, like a good HRTF voice chat, a way to trap the monster to delay it's attacks, In conclusion it's hard but good.
thats funny game for company of friends hope his gonna be popular
This game has so much potential. All it needs is more contracts and for the map to randomize where everything is.
I played Phasmaphobia before this and I have to say I prefer Hellcoming. Since this game is new, there is still hope for more maps and more character options to come. I love the fact that the demon doesn't kill a character & only imprisons them, giving other players time to rescue the imprisoned.
Intersting game if you and few of your friends want to diversify a bit you evening. More maps should be good addition i think
Really enjoyed the game, My biggest gripe is only being able to hold 1 item at a time, then getting grabbed and having to find your tool to recycle it. Being able to hold at least 2 item would help out a lot and still make it where you have to cycle the tool back at the truck. Also if I can hold 2 of the extinguishers would be awesome. But love the game and interested n seeing what the bring in the coming updates
Had a blast playing with friends ! This a lot like phas with viscera cleanup . Good fun and will definitely play it again. Would love to see more maps and jumpscares in the future! Was mad fun for my viewers on stream.
beautiful game, great price. fun to play with friends, and i think better than more other horrors games
Hellcoming is an awesome experience, tho for me personally it took my friends a couple of minutes to convince me to enter the school. They died I did'nt.
mm yes demon goo awaaahaaahhwwaaahaahaa thump thump thump thump
awuauaaaaaaa
This game has got quite a potential, however a lot of work ahead. I do believe tho, this gave will be only better and better. I can't wait for more contracts!
Extra fun game :D recommended for sure
A good game to play whid friends the evening.
Hellcoming is a decent indie horror game for those of you looking to scratch that horror itch. Throughout my playtime, there were a few really good scares that legit made me toss my mouse halfway across the desk. The game is well worth the price and it's better than some other indie horror games I've tried that are priced three times as much. Don't go into it thinking it's a complex game in the slightest though, the objective is very simple, yet it's executed in a way that makes the whole experience very enjoyable. Make sure you bring some friends and a new pair of pants just in case you **** yourself. 10/10 would recommend. Much spook. Very wow.
This game sure gave plenty of spooks. As all Co-Op games it sure is better with more people, honestly don't recommend solo at all or you may get bored of the game. The objectives may seem like a chore but my buddy and I found that if you just don't do one objective and switch between in the match it makes for a solid experience. The ducks and snowglobes were another cool thing to look for while trying to do objectives and avoid being captured. At the time of the review the game has 2 maps. Some objectives between them change making for each map to have unique features. Both monsters are equally terrifying, but the "Nurse" is my favorite because the "scream" or "yell" sounds like a dinosaur from Turok. I do prefer the layout and atmosphere of the school map though. Either way if you want to have some spooks and fun for a couple hours this game is worth the price.
Annoying having to run to the truck to constantly get new equipment, and the fact that you can only have one piece of equipment at a time makes the game really tedious.
game is made very well and the price is crazy good
Presently, the game is way too sluggish and repetitive. It seems to take a weird hybrid inspiration from Viscera Cleanup Detail and Phasmophobia, at least superficially, but doesn't really have the zenlike freedom of the former or the spookiness of the latter. The basic gist is just that the players explore a haunted location where some sort of ghost, demon or the like has just made a huge mess for some reason - and exorcising it requires cleaning that up. There are four main tools for this: a vacuum for floor-based messes, a motorized brush for wall-based messes, a UV light for small passive creatures and a stun gun for larger dangerous creatures. All of these items are limited-use (except the UV light, which burns out if overheated but will cool down if not), and that's where the game hits its shins the first time. You will routinely need to trudge back to the truck to swap out your old tools for new ones. There are a finite number of copies of each device in play at one time, and if you drop a device (such as by "dying" - more on that later), if there are too many in play, you will have to laboriously hunt it down again to take it out and dispose of it before you can get another. Each player can carry only one type of device at a time, which means the purported "single player" mode is an absolute farce. Some maps also introduce others, such as one that includes bottles of (holy?) water used to extinguish spectral flames on the ground - each of which is single-use and necessitates another long hike back to the truck for every single instance. These bottles also cannot even be safely set down to exchange temporarily for a tool.
The aggravation is further exacerbated by the mindlessly aggressive AI of the ghost/demon, which will just charge screaming toward you on sight. This is startling at first, then immediately becomes comical, then the charm wears off completely. This part of the game works basically like playing "jail tag" at the park. If you're caught you're squirreled away in a separate area until another player releases you, and the game ends when all players are caught. (The near inevitability of this is another reason that it is absolutely unplayable in single player.) In my experience this happened over, and over, and over, to the point that it ground down any trace of tension. You get tagged, you call to a friend for help, and you repeat.
There's little to no strategy, and repetition and aggravation rapidly erode any potential creepy factor. Yet while it's not scary, it's too hectic to be a relaxing cleaning game either. It's not interesting, it's not frightening, it's not calming, and it's just not fun. The multiplayer aspect is very stable and works well, and good friends can still make an entertaining time out of a game, but expect patience to wear thin after a while. Even at its very polite asking price, if you are interested, I would definitely suggest waiting until it is out of early access, or at least a lot further along.
Visceral clean up with jump scares
Really fun game. I highly suggest it and hope that new maps come out soon!
great game but on contract 2 she wont let us back in the door.
It's a fun game with a lot of potential. You can tell it's still early in the creation process because there's some balance issues to handle and there could be some tweaking done to add different levels of difficulty. Maybe adding a radar to tell where some of the objects are, or making it easier to hide from her. Overall, I think it can be fun with some more randomization of items on the map, tiers of difficulty, and some tweaking on the monster. I look forward to seeing how this goes!
very fun. cant wait to see more
Its been good so far. Needs smaller maps for smaller co-op groups
I have a few hours played and have beaten both maps– I’d like to share my thoughts on Hellcoming!
Firstly, I prefer the gameplay so far over Devour because of how many chances you can have. With Devour, not only is it difficult, but so is the process of staying alive & being revived. With Hellcoming’s addition of an unlockable “playpen” or room, we’re safe from the demon while the other can strategically plan to let us out.
The number of things there are to clean in Hellcoming is great. I would love to see even more added so we can choose from easy, intermediate & nightmare modes. Instead of 6 things to clean, nightmare can be 7-8 things with another task or something else added.
For jump scares, I love how the TV and the music room have their own little trigger event. Though, the Ghost’s face doesn’t change, we don’t have a name or a reasoning for them being there, so that portion can get boring after a few times. Would love a little lore and a bit more personality in their face when capturing us to make it even spookier. Possibly even personality events where they peek around a corner.
The Mist and the apple/candy cane is jarring, which I love, but I don’t think it adds an element of spookiness unless the ghost is chasing us, which is an auto-death. I’d love to see another paranormal jump scare within each map, or on a larger map. Maybe multiple ghosts, hallucinations, or voices speaking to one player in general.
Please also add a PoC to play as. There are four white people and not much difference between them besides their hair. I hope to also see levels or items/outfits we can earn in the future. Looking forward to seeing what additions are made to this game.
Terrible Game. Takes hours to clean and you mainly end up dead anyway, especially in smaller groups. Janitor Simulator with a demon.
Fun game, especially worth it for the low price. Coming from playing Phasmophobia this has good similarities, but also differences. More jump scares but not the type to give you nightmares. Games are pretty intense but enjoyable. Only problem is not enough people play the game at the moment to find public lobbies, but hopefully the player base will grow, as the game deserves a bigger one than it has right now.
I sure wish this game would get an update...
Has the potential to be an awesome game! However currently it feels too difficult, painstaking, and long! I'd love to come back and try it again when it's a little more fleshed out and updated! :)
I think this game could be huge if it just got a couple of updates. Its a fun game with a great change on the current horror game meta that allows for a lot of new strategies to be made. However the games popularity is going to die in its current state imo. a new map would deff revive its current fan base but to bring in more people theres not much you can do as a dev other than pray or pay people to play.
i really hope this game gets the love and care it deserves and i cant wait to try it out with friends to see if i can make it a little farther than in my solo tries. good luck to the devs on reviving this game and i hope this game pops off on the internet and gets a flood of new players.
make a way for the ghost to not see when your hiding
Game is freaking Hard!! But so fun with friends. Jumpscares are Lit!1 100% try it out.
This game was 10x more fun than I thought it was going to be. Me and my friends bought it on a whim due to lack of games. We spent the last 2 nights playing both contracts and had an absolute blast. Cannot wait for the next contract.
Good game Quite hard though but that is a good thing :)
If you want a game where you are a supernatural janitor then this is definitely the game for you.
Now don't get me wrong I had fun but I think it might only be because I was playing with others. Cleaning up the "hellish abominations" is an interesting concept but the two playable contracts are very large and the amount of things you need to find is tedious. Even with the help of EMF to lead you to what you need it is difficult to find and cleanse everything which can lead to a lot of frustration.
The game doesn't really allow you to hide from the demons either. Even if you squat and hide with all lights out the demon can sometimes still come bolting at you just because you are within range of aggro.
As a friend put it when it comes to the demons; "I haven't seen this level of camping since COD" Have a step in the door and the demons is rounding the corner on you. Step out wait step back in and immediately the same again.
So my thoughts? The game is fun with friends yet incredibly tedious and can be extremely frustrating based on the demons flight patterns. I would still recommend it to others if they are playing with friends as it is an amazing concept albeit I believe it may need a little tweaking to make it even better and eliminate some of the frustration!
I literally cleaned my entire house faster than Contract 1
Pretty dang good. Hope to see new maps in the future. Boobs
I hate this game. Most other games have an interesting play loop but I just came off a nearly 2 hour play session that I absolutely detested. While the game does have its high points with chases, everything else is a low. Here's a summary of what we hated after my friends and I went through a day of cheap horror games:
> A few failures trying to get a hold of the game
> One softlock, the ghost stayed at the front door and wouldn't leave so we couldn't get in
> 2 hours of running out of the building from the ghost trying to make progress
> Incredibly annoying spiders and roaches, even when they're invisible they can still come back if you don't nearly break the UV gun
> Even more padding of run time because you can't hold more than one item, like why even have EMF detectors if we can't use them and clean at the same time
> Our progress coming to a screeching halt when we couldn't find the last shit stain on the wall
> The hunt for the last item went for nearly 30 minutes
> Yes we found all the ducks in the time it took to do this, it wasn't even a goal we just wasted that much trying to find the last piece of crap to clean
You'd think this would be nice being a different approach to the phasmo clone series, but instead its just a ploy to make sure you can't refund the game because its so long to finish even one match. So get it on sale if you really want to give it a go
Extremely fun game to play with friends - scares are great even after 3 hours of playing. Can't wait for the next chapters, currently only 2.
Hellcoming was a roller coaster to figure out on the first few runs to know what exactly my team was up against. While the game may be simple, it was fun to run around the maps and find each evidence piece needed, while trying to avoid the boss. Left my team and I wanting more from SurgutGames games
Overall fun to play, but lack of updates, bugs and GHOST FROM WHICH YOU CANNOT HIDE just cannot let me give this game a positive review
feels like the aftermath of phasmaphobia/ or a phasmaphobia pt2
Good game but DEFF needs more work. one hunt takes over an hour of play time and we still never finished it. it always ends up with "we're done dying trying to get rid of bugs" hunt frequency is VERY high. Has AMAZING potential tho
Great game should honestly sell for more
this game blows monkey balls, wtf is the objective and the controls stinky
Funny cleaning simulator. Can recommend!
don't buy, me and a friend got it and its just a waist. the idea of the game is cool but it is not satisfying, its very tedious and the monster is broken to where it guards your objectives. not hard just long boring and tedious. save your money and buy devour or pacify.
Horrible game DO NOT BUY. you are better off buying devour, phasmophobia or forwarned
It's very eh. Nothing particularly outstanding about it, and too repetitive to have any replayability. Needs some work.
I can easily recommend this game but I do suggest playing it with a few friends. You'll get a few hours out of it (more if more maps come out) and its cheap. This isn't as good as phasmophobia or devour but it's a cheap alternative.
Pros:
+ Average graphics
+ Terrifying enemies and somewhat different from eachother
+ Good gameplay loop
+ Simple but effective tutorial
+ Excellent map design, good amount of loops to get away from the enemy but also a good amount of dead ends
+ Good with friends
+ Cheap
Cons:
- Spiders in contract 2 jump away from the bullets making it too hard to kill
- Pretty sure there isn't a way to hide it's very hard to tell
- Second map isn't as good, mainly due to to the enemy just running the circuit of the map so it takes a lot longer to finish just due to the enemy being more frequent

I recommend this game it is very good despite all the negative comments which are all just babies complaining that they're bad at horror survivals, it took me me my gf days to complete so even though it only has 2 levels they're fun and give you some good jump scares
i tried it to see if my group should get it.
it was vary linear and Showed minimal replay ability. felt like a game i would tire of quickly.
This game is challenge and fun! Especially if you have friends to play with. I hope to see an update soon as there are only 2 maps but for $5 this game is WORTH IT!!
Hellcoming is a pretty decent game it's basically if you'd combine ,,Viscera Cleanup Detail'' and ,,Devour'' into one game. Just to put into further notice Hellcoming would be a lot more fun when you play it with someone because you have to do lots of backtracking, eventually it will be a burden and also sorta irritating. I personally have one problem with Hellcoming, it almost has no maps that you can play on. Overall i would rate the game a 7/10
-Gameplay 5/10
-Horror 3/10
-Graphics 8/10
-Varity 4/10
-Fun 6/10
Interesting game. I like the concept.
Overall a bit clunky and for someone who has trouble with non-inverted controls it makes 1st person even more disorienting and immersion breaking than usual.
Needs polish, but definitely on the right track. I actually cannot give this a thumbs down.
idk why this game has so many positive reviews i mean yeah there were a few times when playing with my friends that we had a laugh but that was all. you just go around a building and clean stuff, other than getting caught by the ghost which is basically impossible to escape from
Some of my friends have a fun tradition every now and then to scour the steam store for cheap multiplayer games to play once and laugh at, and when I came across this it looked like a phasmophobia clone with an added task of cleaning the building, the video especially makes the ghost look really goofy chasing the players around.
It was either our incredibly low expectation going in, or the satisfying element of the cleaning mechanism reminiscent of viscera cleanup detail, or the surprisingly well thought out respawn mechanic, or most likely a combination of all three, that made for a very horrifying, tense gameplay, and probably the most fun I've had playing a horror game with friends since Devour.
Unfortunately, just from peaking at the Hellcoming discord it seems the dev has abandoned the game, or at the very least is inactive on all platforms and has no intention of updating, but if you and your friends are looking for a night or two of good, mindless horror game fun, this may be the perfect game.
Now as I mentioned, the dev is most likely never updating the game, but if they do decide they want to and is looking for feedback:
- The game is insanely difficult in singleplayer, which isn't inherently a problem, but the ability to choose the difficulty may be healthy for the average playtime and overall longevity of the game
- The blinding fog monsters are incredibly annoying, they are pretty spooky at first, but once you realise what they do and what they're there for they're more annoying than anything. Later into the game when multiple fog monsters spawn rapidly and when you get stuck in a room you get chain-blindlocked, it's incredibly frustrating and feels unfair since its almost impossible to counterplay, especially since the monster also gets more aggressive.
Fun with other people. I could imagine solo being dreadful.
esta buenisimo pero tendrian que nerfear a la enfermera 1 tiro y te manda pal lobby joder ostia...
Its a cool game overall, but i recommend adding an item that can stun the ghost,so it can be alot team-working than going separately with no self defending item.I really enjoyed it but it is so difficult to complete.
Cleaning simulator, good with friends
I really enjoy this game. The rounds can be rather long so be prepared to play for a while and i highly recommend playing with at least a team of 3 because there is quite a lot to do. But I don't mind this and every time I play with my friends we have lots of fun.
rather enjoyable for a coop game, especially at the price paid, kept friends and i entertained for hours. i look forward to developers polishing the game up some, say the AI, so that they don't seem to camp certain spots, and to add in new levels!
Hugely underrated game, but please add RNG because otherwise this game will get stale real quick.
I fell asleep playing this game. Please make it more interesting.
