Game play is kind of fun for an hour, but there is no sense of progression other than trying to improve your own score.
This is a polished and good looking little puzzler and even the the price is okay, but I would have preferred actual levels instead of perpetually replaying the same field.
A really engaging game, bringing the dynamics of a board to the digital world in a special way, with exceptional graphics and animations, an engaging track and best of all, a great challenge for the brain. I highly recommend the purchase.
Relaxing yet challenging, really a great game!
Great board game with simple rules, yet very challenging. Incredibly polished with amazing graphics and an immersive soundtrack. Makes you want to play once more to beat your previous score. Well done, devs.
Great and addictive game, I could spend hours playing!
Really fun game that consists on placing the pieces matching the color or the simbol. Make sure to plan your moves or you ll be done really quickly. Recomended!
Very fun game.
First of all: The amount of value you get for the price that is being asked is beyond great.
In regards to mechanics and game design: Very solid and engaging, This is my first time playing such puzzles, so I can be a little biased, but from what is being offered here, it's a very fun challenge that right off the bat I've spent a little more than 3 hours straight playing it.
The artstyle and animations are satisfying (especially when you end a round). A little rough around the edges when we talk about the UI, but nothing that bothers me too much, it seems to be a mobile game as well.
There is no tutorial to the game, only a guide through a series of slides in text and image, they work, but fall flat a little bit, might turn off some people at first.
In conclusion: I really recommend this one for it's price and great value, if someone asks me to recommend a puzzle game, I'm gonna be recommending Hextones :)
It is very creative and fun. Certainly worth your time and money.
This game is very entertaining, it has a nice and friendly interface which makes it easy to play after two or three attempts. The mouse movements are smooth and responsive. The theme, arts and animations are very cool! It's a bargain for such a nice puzzle-like game!
Beautiful and fun game!
I love the high-tech neon style,
the game is very easy to start but if you want to get a high score,
you have to think about every move because when the board becomes more filled,
you will have less movements allowed.
Totally recommended puzzle game!
Great game!
Fun and challenging!
For sure fun for several hours!
It's been I while since I found something so simple and yet so addictive.
And by simple, I mean simple at first sight, because to reach the score people are getting on the leaderboard, I imagine that you would have to go deeper by some levels of strategy.
Congratulations to the developer!
Very polish game, nice concept!
I liked it a lot!
Great game, it can be quite challenging and it is relaxing at the same time.
You can learn more of the game in each match and it feels satisfying to play another round with some strategy in mind, without knowing what's to come and try do adapt to it.
I can see a good mobile game here as well, to play wherever you like.
Relaxing, yet challenging, little puzzle game. Was looking for something easy to play when I'm unwinding from work and, honestly? I'm a sucker for neons :) Gave this game a shot and was pleasantly surprised - a little like Dominos, but much better coloured and more interesting!
A cool game with a great polish. I like that.
Hextones is a very cool matchup game. It is easy to start, but there is a deep strategy to get to the top of the Leaderboard.
The space theme is awesome. The colors, design and artwork are fantastic. Gameplay is smooth and polished- a lot of work and optimization went into this simple title. It is easy to see where you are placing the tiles, but I would still like to see a traditional mouse pointer in there.
With casual games like this, I would also like to see basic instructions and strategy guide. But for .99 USD, you can't go wrong!
Highly recommend!!
I don't believe I could only get 8k points! I thought I did great in my last play, but there are players making 160k hahahaa
The game is great! Nice soundtrack, addictive puzzle, makes you keep playing to get better score!
Awesome little game. Very addictive.
Fun little board game that involves as much thinking as you want to afford.
I really liked polishing this game
Futuristic Puzzle for a Good Price! This is similar to previous square grid "tile placing" games we've played, but this time it's hexagons, and the scoring is a little different.
The music and visuals seem relaxing, just don't get worried as you're running out of space to place tiles!
(It would be cool to have more various play modes, including one that lets you remove some tokens from the board so you can play longer! Also, it's nice to have multiple backgrounds and tile sets available, if possible.)
Challenging board game with really nice visuals and sounds. Definitely worth it!
One of the better puzzlers Ive played in a long time. And this one doesnt 'end' like so many puzzles once youve passed every crafted puzzle. Well worth the purchase.
Very enjoyable game, easy to learn but not so simple to master, each time you play you get more and more insights to keep going on higher scores!
Uowww such an amazing game! Very challenging, addictive and competitive puzzle. The price is too low.
Kind of fun, though I did lose interest in under an hour.
The core concept is a hex map, and pieces that have two characteristics, one of five symbols and one of five colors. To place a tile it must match all adjacent tiles in at least one of the two characteristics.
Easy at first, as you only have to match one side, but as the maps fill up, the options get fewer. Careful play maximized the options.
This is combined with a scoring system that values making matches of various sides, two, three, etc. If you complete a set, scoring goes up.
The game suggests that the best scores come from using all of the pieces. Honestly I got all the pieces on my third play thru, and got a higher score striving to make the match-sets and increasing the scoring potential.
I could see how this could be really fun for some people, I feel like I've wrung all I am going to get out of it in five plays though.
Still, for what I paid, a good deal.
I normally don't like puzzle games, but this is great - there are so many options you can consider.
Best value for money game in a long time.
What a beautiful and challenging puzzle game! This remembers me the old Nintendo Game Boy game called "Ishido" but with a whole new refreshed look and mechanics! Recommended for sure!
A simple, fun, and relaxing game where the objective is to get the highest score you can. The sounds aren't overbearing, and the music is overly calming.
What I find to be more important is that the developer pays attention and is quick to resolve any issues. I don't have anything negative to say about my current experience with the game. It's just great all around.
quick simple and fun. not much else to say about it.
Mentally stimulating yet relaxing game. It's good! I was looking for a replacement for Ishido which I can no longer find for PC. Hextones retains the stone placing challenge that I love in Ishido but expands it. Each stone in Hextones has six instead of four sides. Learning new strategies after years of playing Ishido with only four sided stones is surprisingly fun. Hextones also has incremental challenges where you must get 6 sided, 5 sided, 4 sided, 3 sided and 2 sided correct placements to pass to the next tier. This is more difficult than just accumulating points. The music is hypnotically good. Well worth the price.
Its a fun and challenging coffee break puzzle game.
Great little casual game. More challenging than it appears, and the replay value is strong. I recommend if you want a fun, smart and quick game in your rotation.
It's amazing how some simple game mechanics, well worked like in this game, can demand so much strategy. I would love to see this game running on mobile in the future!
Not Quite sure what i'm doing just yet,,,,,but it's relaxing. A great time killer. I'll kill time again
Playtime isn't accurately counting, i have ~9 hrs played. They released what amounts to a patch half a year later for twice the money. it's worth the price of a candy bar, i guess, but that's some hinky business practices i can't agree with. in addition, not a big deal in this day and age, but the game is nearly a gig, why? do we really need 4k resolution graphics for a tile game. i do not get it.
Nice alternative form of solitare.
Entertaining puzzle style game
Cool game to relax and at the same time challenging.
This is a beautiful games. Great theme and general game play. Relaxing music and vibe. One can enjoy it super casually or work your way up the leader board. Worth every penny and beyond.
I bought this game on sale and I must say I do recomend it! I'ts rather relaxing, lovely soundtrack, it might not be super easy but it's worthy it.
Fun lil game when you got a bit of time to pass
Fun little game once you figure out the rules!
This game is challenging. Reminds a little bit of Triminos, Dominos, Ishido! Very nice graphics!
