I'm a Simple Man
I see new I'm on Observation Duty game, I buy and play new I'm on Observation Duty game. I will continue to do this.
very lovely game 10/10
horrifying but weirdly beautiful
I did school on my first try and I celebrated so hard
I recommend playing this game with someone over discord with a screenshare, makes for an amazing time
if you're thinking about buying this, go ahead. do it. now. immediately. go.
Good game to play with the boy's on discord and by yourself! the game is either somewhat difficult or very difficult because sometimes you really just can't see a difference even with 4 pairs of eyes watching haha. But the more times you play a map the easier it gets obviously because you get a better sense of where things are. It didn't get boring at all (While playing with friends) we completed all the levels and got spooked from time to time. 9/10 would recommend!
Me: *Dies because I did not catch the changes fast enough*
Game: *Achievement unlocked: R.I.P*
Me: *Dies feeling fulfilled - which is the best any of us can hope for*
Such a simple concept that's made a great game. Not fancy but really does test your memory and reaction times. The entire I'm on Observation Duty series is well worth the play. A fun group game as well! Excellent work Notovia.
When i thought i had them memorized and all is going well, then a warning appeared or intruders appeared.
This is very enjoyable as a "find the difference" game with a scary twist. if getting scared at intruders and jump scares means this game is a horror genre, then yes i wanna call this a horror game.
Best of the bunch
Six maps, three of them use a new "all or nothing" reporting system which fixes any anomaly without choosing the type, but the game ends if you make three mistakes. There's so much to keep track of that each map is quite the challenge. Definitely the best of the Observation series so far. Highly recommend.
Brilliant game! Love the new style levels as it mixes it up a little and gives you different ways of thinking!
The first three games in the series had only two levels each. The fourth game had three levels. This time there's an entire six levels! And they're all pretty great, each in their own way!
Half of the levels play like normal. But in the other half you only report which room the anomaly is in, not the type of anomaly. This makes for some slight differences in the levels: You get a few anomalies which you wouldn't get regularly(specifically objects swapped out with other objects), and these levels also have more rooms than usual. It's definitely an interesting change of pace! It certainly doesn't make things easier, just different. In fact, I would argue that "The House" is by far the hardest level in this game. It's the only one I wasn't able to get through in less than half a dozen tries.
Some of the levels can feel overwhelming with the seemingly large amount of items, but are designed so that you're not supposed to look for whether that one bottle among 15 others has moved. Once you realize that it's more about the groups of objects in those parts of those levels, things become quite a bit easier.
A great addition to the series, with some very interesting, new locations - not to mention interesting anomalies(including many of the intruders)!
100% in about 19 hours, no guide.
Love this series of games, so spooky and addictive! I have 2 and 5 so far and I can't stop playing. Thank you Game Grumps for making me aware of this game!
funny camera game go brrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Scary Spooky Cameras. Very fun with a group or your pussy wife
the music in the title screen is such a banger and my favorite map is apartment because of the man in elevator because i'm not alone if they are not there i'm gonna be alone thanks for adding the man in elevator (:
See, this is how the game gets ya. Nothing happens for ten minutes; you get sleepy. Then, BAM. !!HUGE MAN!!
10/10 spooky game
A game like no other, that makes your mind believe things that appear and/or dissapear. love this game, 10/10. gave my little brother nightmares :D
this game is fantastic to play with friends. like me n a server of friends have basically made this our thing to play together and its SO fun. we all thoroughly enjoy !!!HUGE MAN!!!.
got jumped by huge man 10/10 would fear fart again
yikes for skinny prince!
amazing game with tense atmosphere, absolutely love it
The difficulty level really spiked in this newest addition to the series. I love it! It added a twist to the monotonous game play that I think helps keep the franchise fresh and fun. Can't wait to see what they do next.
Honestly such a fun and suspenseful game. It is easy to spend hours on this game intoxicated by the simplicity of spotting the differences. This game adds so much more complexity and challenge than the other games, while also bringing forward the best parts of the other 4 games. I am so glad that I found these games through youtube and twitch because the developer deserves the world. The entire series is definitely worth the buy.
GOOD GAME I HOPE THERE WILL BE MORE
Ugly big titty woman jump scared me and I died.
10/10 would like to see more ugly boobies
This game seemed intimidating at first (which it kind of it), but get a group of friends together and this game becomes so much fun. I could see the entertainment in playing alone, but you have much more laughs (and more eyes to help look) when you have multiple people along for the ride with you. 10/10 I enjoyed this game so much.
would love if in Observation duty 6 we can see wawawawa guy from the second game make a return.
the games concept is basic but very well made the intruders are always very interesting the controls are good it never really lagged or glitched :)
This is an inexpensive game made by a singular developer - but! - it's perhaps one of the most devious games I've played in awhile. You begin by watching security footage and while you flip through the cameras, you look for an "anomaly", something changed in the scene - something small or something terrifying.
What's devious about it is that you have literally no information to work with. There's no set time when the anomalies start (I have thought the first 30 minutes was safe, but I'm sure I'm wrong). You'll be told when there are multiple anomalies, but not how many and if lose YOU'RE NOT TOLD WHAT YOU MISSED. Also, there can be huuuuge periods of time where there are no anomalies and it messes with your head. Am I safe? Have I missed anything? Did that mug rotate? If you lose, you can quickly start again and flip through the cameras and hope to find what you missed (sometimes it's so subtle that you can't find it without multiple plays and sometimes not even then, like a missing piece of paper in front of the elevator).
The game has a wicked sense of humor as well. Sometime the changes are witty and sometimes they're startling (like when you find someone fellating a banana or a naked guy covering his privates with a toy) but it's a good time AND it's much more fun to play with a group. It's not intended as a party game per se, but I recently had a great time with a half dozen people arguing about what has changed. On the strength of this one, I went and bought the previous 4.
me: blink
the game: hold my naked old lady
more fat naked men stare at you randomly
Its cursed but surprisingly addictive. The huge man made me jump!

Very fun spot the difference game with horror added to it. My brain eats it up! Can be difficult with levels like the House but you'll notice differences the more you play. Heavily recommend for nuance horror :)
!!Great game to play with friends!!
WE CAN NO LONGER HAVE PEOPLE OVER WITHOUT PLAYING THIS!
This game is true psychological horror in every way, the suspense it builds, the atmosphere it creates, all of it is perfect and they capitalize on it in the most efficient ways
With this being one of the first Observation Duty games I have played, it has been great so far! With just one map left to complete I am looking forward to trying out the previous entries.
I have been playing over discord streaming with others and it has been great fun for all! Have been jump scared (by cycling to a camera with an intruder present) a few times and was great lol!
10/10 would recommend.
this game is so fun i play with my mom and dad and we nearly beat it i love it
I enjoy the idea of this game but it got old fast for me. I think only one level should require you to go into such detail (and somewhat subjective) about the type of "anomaly" (aka spot the difference), you see. It could use a better tutorial as well, a few lines of text and it's not clear at all what to do. I had to look up a guide because it wasn't obvious I should be quickly clicking through the screens or that sometimes there would be no differences. I've never played any of the others but I am a bit shocked this is the 5th game. I wish I could give this game an in the middle rating. I got it on steam sale.
Great game, lots of content for the price, and probably the hardest one. Highly recommend.
Thrilling, unsettling, and mind-altering. You have to pay close attention between each scene in order to see if tiny objects have moved/disappeared or if you are being visually assaulted by some sort of naked creep.
Really creepy but fun to play.
Simple concept done well. Fun game, few jump scares (though I feel they are earned), challenging and suspenseful.
NO SIGNS OF LIFE DETECTED. ARE YOU SURE IT'S AN INTRUDER? COULD IT BE A DOLL?
ALERT:
WE HAVE DETECTED THE SKINNY PRINCE IN THE GYM
PLEASE FILE AN INTRUDER-REPORT
DO NOT LOOK AT THE GYM CAMERA BEFORE THE ANOMALY IS FIXED!
Best entry in the series so far! I really like the new system of not having to report the anomaly type, with a caveat of only having three incorrect guesses. The game looks better than its predecessors and keeps some of the best parts and adds in some new stuff. Super fun game to play with friends over Discord to help spot the anomalies. I will happily keep playing these games if they keep making them!
My anxiety has never had more fun!
Great game I love each one of them. (Even three, though i can't play it. Gives me motion sickness) I love that they are giving names to the other folks. Skinny Prince.... but who is the naked guy with shoes and socks. Does he have a name yet?
the first time ive actually yelled while playing a horror game. good old fashioned heart attack.
There have been 4 of these games already.
I've finished every single one.
I just 100% beat this one because my brain is broken and this is what makes me happy now.
A kids game made for adults. Spot the difference on hard mode.
Very fun and satisfying. Maps are satisifyingly difficult. A good group game on discord. Can't wait for the next one.
Could use even more horror imo but its really great. I like that they had different modes.
Don't let me play-time fool you. Have played the game for probably 25+ hours between different friends streaming it to discord to play together.
Bought my copy to support the creator.
Would love to see more and anyway to further support group play would be awesome.
one of the best games to come out in the last 5 years
You kinda know what to expect if you're coming into this series, but this entry provides a lot of variety and some new additions to the formula. Looking forward to where they go from here.
Lovely game, just like the other titles! It is perfect to play with friends while trying to convince them you are not schizophrenic.
But I could have sworn the carpet at the entrance used to be smaller!!
Too much bizarre weird stuff instead of creepy supernatural stuff.
I personally couldn't handle it with my autism but from the times I watched it I really enjoyed finding the mistakes, especially the ones they missed. If you ever liked spot the difference, you'll enjoy this game. Its also lacking in no bills changing to no balls
It's spot-the difference with a dash of spook factor. Lots of possible anomalies and crazy intruders. It requires a little patience and attention to detail. Having a lot of fun playing :)
It's spookier and difficult compared to observation duty 4. Wish i had friends to play with.
THIS IS MY FAV ONE TBH other than the first one the graphics are polished but not to an overwhelming extent and the interface and gui is simple yet atmospheric. i THOROUGHLY enjoyed all of the levels i tried so far (apartment, school, metro) and find them the perfect degree of difficult and nerve-wracking. i almost fell out of my chair 12 times but it was worth it.
Six SPICY levels in black-and-white with some classic elements and new ones as well! There is a new mode in three new levels where false reports get a penalty. Some new areas that go beyond the concept of a house or office. And of course, everyone's favorite: !!HUGE MAN!!
fun to play! would like some future form of co op
Very fun, i have all games thanks to Insym and i must say, it is very fun and the new reporting system is beautiful.
After officially completing all of the levels I can finally write this review! If you haven't played another "Observation Duty" game before, you're in for a treat. If you have, you'll find a lot of familiarity in the classic style of their games in this one with a massive change to the overall size of the game. Not only the size (more levels are always great), but without spoiling much, some of the mechanics have been changed for a few levels. I love the approach that Notovia took to differentiate this game from previous entries and would confidently say this is likely his best one to-date. I screamed, I gaslighted myself, and I almost cried at finally beating the last level. I hope others get to enjoy this awesome game for themselves as well.
The Observation Duty games are very effective horror games. The key to a good scare is ensuring that players are paying very close attention to what they're looking at, and seeing !!!HUGE MAN!!! standing in a room when you're expecting a book or a chair to be ever so subtly moved makes for some great moments of chills down your spine. I'm On Observation Duty 5 is clearly a step up from 4, with more levels, more polished graphics, and more unique anomalies. Overall, I'm On Observation Duty 5 is a must-buy at a measly $10.
I am obsessed with all of the games in this series and this is the best one yet. Props to everyone who worked on this game, and i recommend it to anyone who loved spot the difference as a kid :)
The good and the bad
The good is that the game is just as freaky as before, with objects appearing, disappearing, moving and etc, freaky stuff happening and some new twists to be mindful of in the game
The game has 6 locations, 3 play like from the 4th installment.
The remaining has you look more diligently at the cameras because guess 3 times wrong, and you're out.
Which is nice, I like that additional challenge.
It's another run of the mill "I'm on Observation Duty" game which is a good thing, the formula is solid, keep it like this.
The bad:
-Some objects are hidden behind the film grain of which cannot be adjusted.
-I have great difficulty navigating the main menu due to the AI generated video in the background, which is trippy but triggers my ADHD to be overwhelmed, which is just a personal gripe but still.
-The grey User Interface to report anomalies with blends in with the environment that have similar shades
-It's very easy to lose the position of your mouse cursor in the similar shades of grey that is this game.
Things that could fix these problems:
-Remove or reduce filmgrain or make the grain particle smaller like in the first game
-Remove the greyscale filter or adjust the color of the user interface and mouse (Red is best against grey)
And a personal thing
I liked the drop down boxes the most to report anomalies. Having half the screen covered with options feels like clutter.
8/10
10/10 if above mention issues were to be changed.
I'm on sh*tting my pants duty 5
I can rest easy knowing I have banished George H.W. Bush from the grocery store
Very nice simple gameplay yet entertaining!
Love the concept, very unique, 11/10 ;)
Side note:
!! HUGE MAN !!
The biggest, most intricate and difficult game in the series. Though straying away from ghosts and weird entities on account of creeps and burglars makes this game significantly less scary. Or maybe I'm just used to staring contests with the anomalies. Looking forward to the next instalment in the series °_°
Really good game of spot the difference
Since I was a kid, I've always loved spot the difference or find this object kinda games (I Spy, Where's Waldo, Which One is Not Like the Other, etc). I've also loved horror, macabre, unsettling themes in entertainment.
The Observation Duty series is so incredibly fun and satisfying for someone like me.
I love that I can play this solo or stream with friends so we can all get in on the observation! Each sequel brings something new to the game while still maintaining a simple formula. All the games have replay-ability for each of the maps, there are so many possible anomalies to find, I swear I see something new every time.
My only "complaint" is that I'm so interested in the lore of this series, but the lore is very...mysterious and shy. Each subsequent game gives you a teeny tiny morsel of information and it hasn't necessarily come together in an understandable way, but this could be totally intentional by the devs and my interest is peeked enough to see where this goes. I just wanna know 'bout Timothy and Huge Man! :P
Super Intense, and the Huge Man is baaaack!!!!
I dunno why, but I perform this game way better when I'm bleary eyed and about ready for bed.
Spooky kooky! This game gives me the heebie-jeebies!!!!!!!
SO MUCH REPLAY VALUE. I KNOW THIS JUST CAME OUT BUT I'M ALREADY READY FOR IoOD 6!!!
very hard and very paranoia inducing but more than worth the 10 bucks :steamhappy:
Everyone's going Skinny Prince VS Huge Man but no one sides with the man holding a pineapple and his buddy helping him take a bath!
For real though, this is one is quite good! You have the traditional game, find anomalies, match room and type, report it and survive until 6 am. But wait! There's more! Now instead of 3 maps with traditional gameplay, you have 3 more maps with a new-ish kind of gameplay! You can simply report the camera/room you see an anomaly, BUT if you get 3 wrong, you lose!
There's also some small new events, such as the metioned Skinny Prince or another anomaly that changes type once you report it
I love all the Observation duty games. This one is one of the best imo. The new reporting system is fun and actually adds some more difficulty to the game. I really think these are some of the best if not the best hidden object / horror style games out. If you like hidden object games with a bit of scares... play it. you will love it. Here is my playlist if you would like to check out some of my gameplay from all the games.
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMrzAsGLXuKGMOubPIcHHn45BJhEmx8WK
deservers way more attention, honestly :)
Good mix of fun and creepy. Went cross-eyed trying to complete the house though.
This game is NOT what they try to sell, they say it's a horror game with an unnerving atmosphere, that you'll have to spot subtle yet scary anomalies, but no, almost the entirety of the game and anomalies are either 1 missing item in a room with 50 items, or a slightly moved item, THAT'S IT, nothing scary, nothing interesting to keep you hooked, nope if you don't have the entire layout memorized in the beginning, that's it, you lost, you get the warning for a lot of anomalies, focus even more and then lose, $10 and I still feel scammed.
Classic Observation Duty with some interesting additions. Love it.
Very fun, a lot of replayability, and also !!HUGE MAN!!
My daughters love this game, would highly recommend this to anyone.
It's great that there are more maps this time round (6 of them!). The new reporting system is interesting; definitely debatable whether or not it's easier than the old one (imo it's harder). As usual the game tested my memory and made me ask myself dozens of times "wait, was that there before??". Great addition to the series! Thanks for the game, Notovia!
Notovia continued the simple but excellent formula of the prevoius games (excluding the 3rd) and once again delivers with new spooky environments which are haunted by paranormal activities.
I also really appretiate the new gamemode in which you are allowed to only send 3 false reports max! This should be rather seen as a hard mode, because although the need to specify the exact type of anomaly is not necessary in this mode, there are way more rooms than typical. This will surely proof to be a real test for hardcore fans of the game series.
I try to play it , and it just keeps going slow and crashed on me twice
i'm very unhappy as i really wanted to play this :(
- Having a ton of fun with this game! and lots of replay value with 5 in particular.
DEAR DEVs
At the metro, there is a particular "abyss presence" that shows up at the entrance (escalators cam) that is VERY misdirecting. It first appears 100% to vbe distortion and then a black hole shows up, making this an Abyss Presence anomaly. This is SO NOT FAIR. Any first timers encountering this anomaly will report as Distortion.. and if the player reports Distortion, its an insta kill given theres no time to report as Abyss, or option switch Cams.
Please take a look at this, and consider making this anomaly both distortion & Abyss Presence so players can report the former or the latter.
Thanks,
keep making more observation duties! (:
I’m On Observation Duty 5 is a spot-the-difference-game where you scrub through live CCTV-feeds and file reports whenever you see something spooky. That means everything from a mug or a shoe shifting around, to visual glitches and more supernatural stuff.
The whole proceeding is very mechanical in nature, and can be summed up thusly: You stare intensely at the screen for some time. Then it's game over. Apparently, no matter how hard you look, there’s an abundance of weirdness you haven’t spotted. That’s sort of fun. But it also underscores the fact that it’s a game as much about observation as it is pure repetition -- memorizing the often insanely detailed environments over several tries.
There’s next to no interaction. All you do is look. Look at the details. Try to remember what one room looks like before you loop around and come back. You’ll start to second guess yourself -- often to a hilarious degree.
Wait, was that bathtub there earlier?
Of course it was, stupid. It’s a bathroom. Keep looking.
It sort of outplays itself once you’ve figured out the registry of tricks it's pulling from. Before that though, it’s a serviceable digression. But one that turns wholly forgettable once the novelty wears off.
Huge Man almost made me piss myself, well done.
This concept is very unique. I like it. The intruders mostly don't intentionally jumpscare the players, but they still do the job ;)
Freaking scary, love it though! Kinda wish there were more features like being able to interact with objects.
A first I bought this game thinking it was a nice jaunty time. Then I realized the dear grim situation I had put myself in. This game has given me horrors as such the cosmic horrors that was laid upon me by that one racist writer that is famous. I of course mean as which is H.P. Lovecraft. How ever i feel myself slipping away from consciousness as which this bald naked man harasses me in my house. Thankfully his penis is covered by a bottle.
GOD SAVE US...
As good as the other ones, and even better, as it has combined and improved on the anomalies of other games.
If you haven't played this game yet, I don't know what's stopping you. Grab some of your sharp minded, but jumpy friends, and have a blast. This game is 5th in a series of amazing Spot the Difference Horror Games, that are so creative and so much fun, that I will be buying every game Notovia releases in this series. It's incredible the amount of creativity this man has, and all I ever want, is for him to continue his wild imagination in these amazing games.
I love these games.
I have all of them except #3. I didn't like the POV/1st person. It go me motion sickness.
Looked through a camera, saw a naked man standing there.
10/10 game
fun for the whole family if the whole family is goth or morbid
10/10 would recommend best $5 I've spent on a video game that gives me the frighten
very scary, had a panic attack. ULTIMATE POG
After playing all the rest of the games before this, I really thought this was the best one. I can really tell you're working with a lot of different methods and styles up to this point and I've loved watching the evolution of these games. I really loved this one.. Until I got to the other half of the maps..
Bruh.
You don't even tell us what we actually missed when we lose. "TOO MANY ANOMALIES" and it barely looks like anything is going on anywhere even after I've been memorizing all the objects? Or what I can even see anyway. Some spots are just too dark even with full brightness. Can I at least know wtf got me? I really hated the last half of this when they penalize you for taking a guess with a report. What even..
second guessing myself non-stop has never been so fun :)
Super fun spooky game. First duty out of the 5 playing with friends, really great to play solo or with friends via discord share screen. 10/10
I'm on Observation Duty is my absolute favorite party game. At its core, there is no interaction with other people as players that should lend this series to be multiplayer, but it is. Have you ever watched a cheesy horror movie with friends and delighted in yelling, "Don't go in there!" at the screen? That's Observation Duty. You get a bunch of people together and take turns yelling about missing chairs or shifty coffee mugs. You get to argue with your friends about whether the kitchen you've all been staring at for 20 minutes ever had a microwave. It's fantastic.
With regards to this game specifically, I'm on Observation Duty 5 is the most game they've ever put into one of their games. Past entries in the series have maxed out at 2-3 total locations. This fifth one has SIX. Of the 6, three of them are the standard Observation Duty gameplay we all know and love, and three are an attempt at a new format. With the new format, you have 9 total cameras to flip through, but you report only the room with the anomaly, not the type of anomaly itself. Three wrong reports, and it's game over. It's a fun variation on the existing mechanics, and I welcome the change.
If you enjoyed any of the prior games, you should absolutely add this one to your collection. If you've never played an Observation Duty before but enjoy getting people together to yell at your TV screen, give the series a whirl.
very difficult, very painful, yes yes, It is fun and satisfying if you have a good memory, but even then I would still recommend playing with someone else watching, irl or on discord or something to help. It is fun
This game is very scary I got scared by the skinny prince and I screamed so loud I shut my computer.
even tho i have very large adhd, this game disobeys everything that ruins some games for me, even tho it seems like it would be the worst for that
Friend and I are dumb so we suck, very good game tho
It is very interesting type of psychological horror. Tense and Thrilling!
Love this series a lot and Observation Duty 5 is easily my favourite. However my one complaint is the white text against a black and white background, sometimes it was a strain and made the game more difficult than it needed to be as I couldn't read the report system. That said the fun outweighed any problems I had with the white text.
