Do you like grind? Well, you are in for a treat!
If the name "infinitode - infinite Tower defense" did not tip you off: This game has lots of grind.
If you do not like grind at all, maybe you prefer story driven games, then this game is definitely NOT for you.
Personally I am a little addicted to Tower defence games, and Infinitode 2 just hit the right spot.
It is easy on the PC resources, not Pay2Win, and even contains some traces of a plot.
I like putting on a podcast or youtube video where the focus is on what is said, not what is shown, and grind away.
While you play, inevitably all levels end in defeat, but this is alright. What matters is how much resources you extracted before your inevitable defeat. With those you can buy upgrades for your towers, miners and the overall situation in general.
I really like the synchronisation between mobile devices and PC. I can play on mobile on the road, sync my progress, then keep on playing on my PC.
Great mobile game for being a passenger on a road trip. The soundtrack is full of bangers. My only major complaint is that you can't buy the soundtrack on steam. Definitely worth another 5$.
The progression is in and of itself a game mechanic. With the optimal strats and execution, you can max out an account in, what was that speedrun on YT, 16 hours? But with suboptimal strats it'll take months to max an account. I cannot stress this enough: this isn't your grand pappies Bloons-alike. You will need to be carefully strategizing your ability usage, prioritizing which account level ups and prestieges to get and in which order to optimize your progression. People get to the point, in f2p with no custom maps, where they have max cash and max resources by grinding that last bonus level where mining spawns units. The campaign levels are a tutorial meant to prepare you for the daily challenge and the bonus levels (They add meta game mechanics like rail guns destroying blocks over tiles to free up tower space and miners spawning units- these are were the REAL game begins!)
TLDR: 7/10, great for boredom, the music slaps, but you can't just buy the soundtrack seperately on steam.
This is one of the greatest [Tower Defense] games of all time. It's criminally good these days because now the game has gone [Free to play] which is just insane to me. I spent like 2$ on this a long time ago and ended up getting over 200 hours.
If you are a fan of [Tower Defense] games then this is a must-play. It's just perfect and that's all I have to say.
Minimalistic graphics, but working fine. Dept of building an researching is good.
+ u can build own maps to farm resources
+ nice music
- free ... would have payed 20+ bucks for it
One of the best TD i have played so far
10/10
An interesting game that I lost progress on when reinstalling because it doesn't sync saves to Steam and requires a login to their own system for any kind of leaderboard stuff.
Not interested in redoing all of the intro/tech tree/unlocking stuff all over again.
Top quality tower defence game
imagine the enemies are french
If you like TD-Games, good luck finding a better one than Infinitode, Bloons and Gemcraft!
Great Tower Defence game. Highly recommend it to TD fans.
Definitely one of the best TD games ever.
Excellent tower defence with a ton of scope and a huge upgrade tree, really cool aesthetics and excellent music.
Soon to be free as well, crackin' good game!
Its fun and cheap. Under-priced at 3$ and has hundreds of hours of game play and wonderful replay ability.
Great game would like to see more of these type of TD games.
Now i know it says ive only played this for 4 hours, but thats because i played the game on mobile before. This is an amazing game. Its so fun! This is such a quiet, yet really good tower defense game. There is so much unique strategy with 16 different towers and over a dozen abilities. Not only that but the endless mode has a nearly infinite research tree, meaning the game doesnt get old. All and all, its a great game that I suggest you get when it becomes free!
paid $5 when you had to buy the game which gives double resource gain compared to the free mobile version
now theyre making the game free with the choice to buy the double resources thing
mobile ports and hard p2w shouldnt be on steam
you want alot of resources for free btw? the data for level rewards are plaintext and can be edited with notepad so just edit green papers reward or anything else to be 99999999
Have not had this much fun shooting shapes since Geometry Wars!
anyway yes.. but...
where's my money? :|
Lost my 18 hour save, somehow. No steam cloud saving, either.
This was a great game for me it looks very complex but its a pretty good game.
Story: 5.5/10
The story isn't really there except for a few people talking to you but its just unlocking towers and beating bosses honestly without the story you would have the same experience.
Difficulty: Hard
The game is pretty easy at the start but it takes a lot of effort at the later levels for you to at least get 1 star
i would say the daily challenges aren't that hard though so if you cant figure out a level do those.
Art: Pixel Beauty
The art is amazing even though it looks simple it is very nice and it looks fantastic on your computer
honestly it could be a bit better with some things but its very clean.
Music: Good
The music isn't the best but for you eletronic music lovers this should sound pretty good some levels music can be
annoying and some can be very cactchy
Overall: Awesome game
This game is great if your a grinder you can grind if you love to level up try the research tree and if you just want to win
look at stratigies and make your own this game suits almost everyone and you should get it (now its free!)
A great tower defense game. Lots of progression and things to unlock. Cloud saves that sync up with the mobile version. Lots of fun.
A very well rounded Tower Defense Game. Since it is mostly developed by one person, it aims at a more simplistic style which it executes perfectly. Its nothing groundbreaking but solid designed and can give you a lot of hours of entertainmainment, for free. But do consider getting Double Gain, to support the dev and save you some time from grinding.
Best TD in the game right now. Extremely deep, massive tech tree but easy to pick up, great OST. Runs great on Manjaro now, too. Play on your PC and pick up where you left off on your phone. Awesome.
Well made, super fun to play! Love how it's basically endless.
simple but effective, and fun to play.
Great game.
One of the best tower defense games you can ask for.
I am really hoping for community maps soon!
One of the best TDs I've played in a long time.
AND IT HAS MOBIL SYNC!!!!!!
This is one of my favorite genres, but this game is incredibly generic and feels like you're stuck on a hamster wheel. If you compare it to any of the others with more character like bloons or gemcraft or kingdom rush... you get the idea.
This game is insanely grindy (to the point where it somewhat resembles one of those idle clickers where you slowly upgrade to build up DPS then reset your progress for a very small percentage boost to DPS, then do it all again ... without the idle). Keep in mind I bought the game before it went F2P so supposedly that gives me a boost to progression. I'd hate to see the progression rate without that boost.
Also, achievements are broken. Staff on the Discord server have confirmed this is intentional for now and until 'the dev decides to do the final update' (there doesn't appear to be any estimate of when/if that might occur).
Otherwise Infinitode 2 is a very pleasant minimalist tower defense with electric/EDM-inspired themes and reasonable in-game QoL but miserable loot-management (which the developers appear to be aware of and open to improving).
Its a fun but grindy tower defense game.
Everything my addiction asked for
This is a challenging take on the TD genre and has recently become Free to Play. There is a large variety of upgrade options for each type of tower, more than any I can remember. I enjoy the daily challenges although I would like to see more maps cycled through the dailies.
Probably the best tower defense I've played in a long time. Despite some late game progression being time consuming, I find it completely entertaining.
good for anyone who likes td games
Best tower defense game I have played in a long time
This is quite a fun tower defense game, mixed with incremental game features. It has a bit of a slow start to it, but the more you play, the more you understand the nuances of the towers, thus allowing you to reach higher waves, providing higher rewards, unlocking more expensive bonuses, etc. It's a game loop that works, and is pretty rewarding. Would recommend.
one of the best TD games. played a bunch on my phone so my hours are not much on Steam
good td game but bloons tower defense 6 is better
I like tower defense but this game is pretty slow to progress. Seems like there is something that you can buy if you play mobile to help with that. Since it isn't available on steam it sucks. Overall I like this game as I can just sit and zone out and play it.
prob one of the only mobile games iv actualy enjoyed
Fun chill game, does require a bit of a grind though
A Fun Tower Defense game thats good to sit back and play a round or 2, though be warned there can be a lot of grind to fill out the rather overwhelming list of upgrades
Great Game, a bit slow on the upgrades progresss though.
Visually appealing, ever changing map layouts and exciting soundtrack. Whats not to love!?
TD Fans = must buy.
One of the better tower defense games i have played. 3 thumbs up.
A really nice Tower defense game with a decent grind.
Game is very original & requires a lot of thought to win.
Fun game to just sit back, listen to a podcast, while playing. It doesn't seem so bad when you run out of lives on a level, you have free roam of which levels you would like to play. Minimum requirements to unlock each level are easy. All around, I think it is worth getting!
Good TD, interesting towers, research, interesting mechanics
This is one of the best TD games out there.
Great, now i can be addicted on phone *and* laptop
IMO this is one of the best defence games ever made.
Loads of upgrades,research,powers,mining etc...
I really like this game and would`nt hesitate to recommend it.
A*****
This game has a huge amount of content. The mechanics seem simple enough, but overall it is a very decent Tower Defense game which gives you many opportunities to get better and better. Not only by in-game progression (research to upgrade towers, gain special abilities, etc.) but also by increasing your skills and understanding of which towers work best against which enemies and in which combination.
Grab it,. test it, stick with it! :)
Good Tower Defense game.
The progress can be synced with the Android version.
Absolutely love this game, it's the perfect tower defence game for me
Great game, would recommend if you enjoy tower defence. Has a very unique color pallete and design.
With 225 hours on record, I can safely say that i enjoy the game. I play a bit every day, and there are whole areas of the game (custom maps, star research tinkering, achievement hunting) that I haven't even touched yet. The discord community is super active and helpful if you get stuck on something, but there are many many happy hours of play even if you just want to explore it on your own.
For Free (or for $5, which just gives you faster loot collection, no other benefit), it has to be one of the best deals on Steam.
A solid tower defence, with a fun amount of upgrades and improvements possible to all aspects of your towers.
Once you are doing with the main campaign expect to play this one slowly, over the long term. It is certainly grindy to get to the point you see in the youtube videos of the insane farms, but I've found it to be enjoyable by simply doing the daily mission, progressing bit by bit over the weeks.
At certain points you'll hit moments where you can suddenly push quite a bit further which makes it fun for longer sessions for a while.
I understand there's big plans for the 1.9 update, and presumably even more so for the 2.0. Things are often in flux, meta changing as the patches come along. The recent 1.8.5 patch shook things up quite dramatically with some great quality of life changes to go with it.
Worth checking out.
Very good game for when you want to chill but still think. Fun for watching number go up as you kill enemies and work through an absurdly huge upgrade tree. This is probably a 1000-hour game if you really get into it, but also fun for ten-minute bursts.
One of the best tower defense games. Tons of upgrades and towers available. Will take you weeks (if not longer) to complete all levels. Great support from the developer team also. They really listen to what the players want to see in the game.
Lots of depth, and replay value.
I don't even have the words to appropriately praise this game. This is the epitome of Tower Defense genre. This game and this dev team are the peak.
Simple on UI level,
Interesting on Strategy defining level,
Light Weight on Size/Storage space,
Free to play the entire game unlike the annoying hard limit with payment lock to unlock entire game
Cross platform Support - Mobile(Android, iOS), Steam (Windows, Linux{With Steam experiments})
If interested/needed user can opt-in for viewing Ads get rewards instead of the word annoying ads design
Hence pretty much sums up of the definition of a good game for me :D
This happened to my buddy eric
Great tower defense game with meta upgrades. Cloud saves allow for you to move from your computer to your phone and back easily.
I don't feel like I get any better at this game. Also, a "loot voucher" dropped from a box and was immediately used without my consent, which means I lose out on the proper benefit of it (using it when I want to / when I have a good setup ready).
It's a shame, because the game seems well made, but just made for people who spend endless amounts of time working out the right thing to do and grinding level after level for resources. There are seemingly no good combinations of towers, only okay ones, and the game never feels satisfying.
I bought this game when I first found out that it was going to be available on Steam. This game was an awesome mobile game, and I have been wanting this to pop up for PC for a very long time. These devs are awesome for making it not required to be purchased anymore, and the fact that it's 100% cross platform really seals the deal with my recommendation.
Awesome.
I have a combined 140 hours played and i still find motivation to do stuff.
Played mostly on android, it's a good infinite tower defense & it's fun to master
A simple tower defense that doesn't need to read how to counter the mobs, because all the information is included on the towers
Pretty much everything you could want in a tower defense game. Lots of towers, research, re-playability.

Great TD game this.
Very simplistic, levels are just built of squares, there's different tower types and enemies that are vulnerable to them. Earn currencies and use them to unlock upgrades. Nice chiptune music.
It's no bloons, but it's still great. 7/10
I played for a long time on mobile. They've done a good job bringing this to Steam. I chose not to import my old save and just started all over again. Good times.
tactical mining simulator
(oh you also fight some enemies every once in a while)
