I have played 9.8 hrs of this game and it is really fun. Although it is extremely fun for everyone.. It has started to crash half way through the game. For the Price I paid which was £15.99 it isn't cheap to not be able to enjoy the game. It kicks you out half way through and does this all the time during the live play. I will be complaining to the Developers to fix this, as I want to play it again as my viewers love the game too. Thank you for reading this and for taking this into consideration when buying this game.

I love Jackbox style phone party games... this isn't my favorite. Dull rounds that go on for way too long and tasks that aren't explained enough leaving your group scratching their heads. On the plus side, the host is cute for the first few minutes (getting more sarcastic and obnoxious as the game progresses) and the game visually is pleasing at first glance. But, the graphics get repetitive once you see the same backdrops over and over.

The questions themselves aren't horrible and it's nice that they give you questions based on your birthday, but a majority of the questions feel less suited for a trivia game and more for doing homework.

Didn't keep my parties attention including mine.

EDIT:

App seems to work now. So I will move my review to positive. Only thing I dont like is the part of the game where you have to guess the order of how much another player likes something, I wish there was an option to remove that.

played it once seemed good. Since then the companion app you need to play on your phone doesnt work. Keep getting "connection timed out after 10 seconds"on app. Didnt work on 5 peoples phones across android and iphone. tried to reinstall the app, same issue. Cant recommend until they fix it.

I generally like quiz-based games. This one has plenty of content (as you probably guessed), and it can be pretty challenging, but the narrator has one of those speech-to-text voices, which I found to be fairly annoying. A placeholder voice is fine in an early access title, but not in a full release, in my opinion. I would have preferred a voiceless speech-bubble presentation or something similar (e.g., Nintendo-style) instead of the current presentation.

Would I still recommend this? Yes, but barely. Unless you have to have it right now, I recommend waiting for a discount. You can find similar games for free for most mobile devices.

Just played this with the family on Xmas Eve it is excellent! Lots of questions exciting and fun. Has an ai that reads out words even rude player names as u can imagine. Couple of neg points the sport questions seem to almost all be football (urgh) and alot of stuff is modern so the parents struggle on them seems to be weighted more for that than proper trivia although there is still plenty of it. I'll be playing this alot more with friends the smartphone/tablet controls are perfect. Good job devs

Bought before the holidays, as I was looking for some party games to play with family and friends. For the most part the game has been an absolute blast and would recommend to those who are after aBuzz like game for PC.
There has been the occasional technical area when playing in larger groups with everyone on the same network, sometimes the app freezes or looses connection, but the majority of games have been hassel free.

Rosuav
Rosuav

Every time I play this - whether on my own channel with my viewers, or as a viewer in someone else's channel - I enjoy it. The byplay with the AI host (Salli) is a huge part of what makes this game fun; she speaks with near-perfect inflection (unlike most text-to-speech synthesizers) and responds to a wide variety of situations. "Rosuav, contrary to all expectations, you got that question right." (Ouch!) If you like the idea of pitting your wits against an AI that learned from the GLaDOS school of insults, you will LOVE this game.

Oh, and did you know Salli speaks multiple languages? I've no idea how many, and maybe she's not as fluent in all of them, but you can challenge yourself against a German quizmaster, or a Dutch one, or several others besides.

Fantastic quiz game to play either locally, or with an audience over streaming platforms with its dedicated Live Show feature. There is a good variety of rounds that mix up the way the game is played and how the app is used. Highly recommended

Socius

Big variation both in difficulty and categories, and quite user friendly. In addition, Salli is sassy enough to give Buzz a run for his money, which made it very enjoyable to play.

I haven't seen ohter reviews posting this same problem, but the game doesn't work. I bought this to try out at a birthday party, but 90% of our time was spent getting dropped from the game, having the server migrate and generally do nothing. When it works, it's a pretty fun game, the solo play works just fine, it's just with 3+ players that the game deteriorates and is unplayable.

Vintage Gamer

What a fantastic quiz game. It’s really fun to play. But damn, those questions are tough. Single player works fine in both score attack or if you play against the bots. I got beaten by a bot and had to be satisfied with 2nd place. The “It’s Quiz Time: Companion App” on Android works perfect. I had some freezes but that was due to poor Wi-Fi reception. I love the host … from pretty blue eyes to the witty attitude.

If you’re looking for a challenging quiz game then It's Quiz Time is for you. Some questions are really tough. You really need a good general knowledge of many subjects. And you need the ability to laugh at your dumb answers and the snappy comments from the host. But it is REALLY great fun to play.

It's Quiz Time get a big yes from me.

A great addition to the line-up of party games to be brought out when having family & friends over. Similar to the Jackbox games, this is more Quiz focused with a handy feature to localise questions around a specific global region in the settings. Whilst the game truly shines playing locally in the same room with others, there are modes for solo play and streaming (with a handy option to increase answering times to better account for stream delay).

There are customisable playlists where round types can be added or removed depending on your preference; these can be curated and saved to be fired up depending on who you're playing with. The AI host, Salli, adds a personalised touch as she reads names aloud and remembers players between gameplay sessions. Stat tracking is also available on the android/iOS apps.

Because of the reliance on an app & moderately capable computer/laptop, ideally hooked up to a decent sized screen, I feel the game has a bit of an accessibility issue with regards to setup and reaching non-traditional gamers.

Overall, it's very good and replayability is high. What turned me away from the Jackbox quiz games was how so many questions would be focused on US culture, daytime TV, celebrities & sports teams; completely fine for a local but had a whole room of non-Americans regularly wondering who the subject of the question was. With IQT, and the ability to localise questions, this has been a breath of fresh air!

I wholeheartedly recommend picking this up to play with partners, friends or family!

If you enjoy playing a game of trivia with friends or family and you all have a smartphone at hand then you really can’t go wrong with It’s Quiz Time… In fact, it’s really quite a good game! The overall visual look of it is great and it has this really pleasing visual presentation that makes it feel like an actual gameshow of sorts. There is also the AI host who uses some form of text to speech to engage players and will continually throw shade at your oldest player; it’s just all done really well within the confines and limitations you would expect for a party game like this! There are plenty of different segments that are used throughout the rounds and they really do vary up the gameplay and you will have your favourite segments. In all honesty there isn’t really a quiz game like this on Steam (to my knowledge) and to be honest I feel like this game gets a much harsher reception than it deserves… Admittedly sometimes the questions can be a little bit generic or outright obscure and the game will often take question themes and run with them for example fastest animal between said animals, or tallest etc. But overall this is a fun game to play with friends and family in a living room setting (even the older people will get involved)! I mean, you need to find some games to make a Steam Link worth while!

Sir Reginald, …

We've been looking for a good quiz game on Steam for years and we think we've found the one. The rounds are super interesting, and there are a hell of a lot of questions. One thing I'll point out is that the quick fire rounds don't work that well online, but we're going to try the Twitch stream option which apparently syncs the timing of the game so everyone is following at the same time.

Played this game for hours on multiple platforms.

Great in groups 4-8 players. Gigantic selection of categories and questions, never ran into the same question twice. Zero delay when tapping on the mobile device.

AI announcer reads every question and even player names using text to speech.

Only downside is the game has not been updated since 2017 because the dev's publisher seems to be a cunt. Still worth playing for the next few years, it's not outdated yet.

This game was a terrible time. The companion app kept dropping the entire game even though our wifi is very strong. Also half of the time, we were unable to even answer questions without restarting the apps on our phone. We have a Galaxy S10, a Pixel 3, and 2 iPhone 8's playing this and every phone didn't work right. One of the iPhone 8's app would not work at all and so that player just had to sit out. Overall, a very negative experience. Buyer beware.

Great game to play with the family, great range of questions and even more with the new update. Tho i do like to just play the normal mode to have a wider range of questions.

I have never had any problems with the app or being dropped, yet some of the people that complain and don't reccommend the game call it boring and dropping out have played 20+ hours... hmmmm.

Good game you wont be disappointed, especially good with big groups after a drink!

RonRon™
RonRon™

A Classic quiz game, with some unique game modes. SOOOOO many Categories and Questions it'd be hard to get the same one you've already had. Also made by the people who also worked on BUZZ!: The Music Quiz

PROS

[list]
• A Quiz game for 8 players. Very simple, everyone of all ages can play and have a good time
• The game balances out questions based on the players ages. So if you have a group of 20 year old's who know nothing about the 80's or 70's you will get them much much less.

CONS

    • It requires a Smart Phone to play. Not a bad thing but it also requires you to download the app from the app store
    • One of the rounds requires you to answer as quickly as you can before the question reveals the answer, so if you have poor connection or an old slow phone, the game will barely work well at all. At least 1 person has a problem with this round every time it shows up and it kills the mood
    • The game has a lot of game breaking issues. Sometimes the game doesn't load when you open it, The announcer doesn't do anything once your group is all ready which soft locks you and as previously stated, some rounds just don't even work properly for some people

Final Thoughts

The game is solid as it is. it's a quiz game with an abundant amount of questions and categories, Perfect for gatherings and always a fun time. However, with all the previously stated game breaking issues, the game can end up being a huge hassle to set up or even play for most people. The developers are quick to respond with help and a fix but the fact the issues exist STILL is a big no no

I bought this game to play with my family over the holidays; I was fairly sceptical as many other users were saying that the companion app often disconnects. To my surprise everything worked wonderfully! This party/Quiz game has exceeded my expectations!

PROS:
-AI is both funny and intelligent (remembers things, adapts to different situations and can pronounce many English words)
-Many different Topics, Questions, and Game Modes
-Matches questions to age groups!
-User Friendly
-No Crashes (That is saying something because where I played the internet completely sucked!)

Cons:
- Can occasionally give a player a specific question that they will have no change in answering: This leads me to believe that the age group topics needs a bit of work. My 87 year old grandfather kept getting questions on Capcom video games LOL!

OVER ALL:
For a quiz/party game I give it....
4/5 STARS ****
I would play and get insulted by the AI again!
:)

Most of the questions we encountered were scraped from databases with no human input on whether the result would be a reasonable question.

The resulting effective questions are almost always too easy (Is Manchester a place in the UK?) or too hard (Was "Player I've never heard of despite following basketball" a Small Forward in the NBA?). In our first game we got 2 questions about what "drizzle" is, and about 10 too many questions about the stupid names for groups of animals (ie. an "obstinacy of buffaloes"; one of these questions would have been fine, but their database is padded out with a ton of these apparently).

The "social" question setups are dumb (which of my friends would be better at knowing my preference for a random set of 3 sport teams, none of which I care about in the slightest?). If you want to do social questions, you need to have some human come up with questions that are going to be interesting for a broad group of people.

Game is slow, and host's interjections feel torturous and repetitive early on in your first playthrough.

This game is the quiz game I've been looking for. In 5 hours' play, not one repeated question, no "Americanised" subjects that plague other trivia games and the interface is slick. I play this with friends using remote play and it works perfectly. I was nearly put off by some reviews so glad I bought it.

Super fun to play with friends and family! Not too much to say, I love quiz games :D Also never had disconnect issues like other reviews but maybe that's just me.
Positive
- Tons of questions and categories
- Good variation of trivia challenges
- Easy to use
Negative
- In some trivia challenges the same categorical elements will be re-used and questions will contain similar answers

cfrond

This is a fairly comprehensive trivia game with tones of categories and questions. It also allows you to build your own trivia game by piecing different game modules together for a custom type of game and will save these as well. The game takes about 20min to play however and that was with just 4 people. Easy lends itself to hours of fun for the $20 you spend on it. There is also a single player mode you can choose

Fantastic alternative to Jackbox, with an inclusive AI (shoutout to Salli) ranging from asking pronouns, how to pronounce names. The ranging game-modes really makes general knowledge a fun thing to do in a party setting -- especially the mode where you select a topic from a large list and have to shout out various words possibly linking to that topic, as players tick off the possible keywords you have said.

Very decent trivia quiz. Questions can range from detailed to plain fun and the has a few modules, which are picked for each game - for a pleasant change.
Just like JackBox games - you can play via remote play - allowing you to play with friends on the other end of the planet.
You might need to get used to the presenters monotonous rhythm of speech, which she makes up with a sarky humour.
A lot of unnecessary animations in the background - I wish there was a way of reducing them in settings.

This game sounds like a blast, and I would love it if it worked. I bought it as it stated it was something "you can compete with up to 10,000 viewers" with...
Sadly, this is not the case, when you try to do Twitch Authentication on this, it relies on a insecure source first off (Your web browser will alert you to this fact first time), and even if you go against your better judgement, it will then ask for a pin that will never authenticate on their side.
We have tried several times, and like I said, I would LOVE this game if it worked, as a streamer my community thrives on community based games like Jackbox, Marbles, and others. Sadly, this one fails to meet any Twitch integration.

It's Quiz Time is a great group quiz game that boasts many categories and questions. The dynamic of the game is compelling, but the virtual host is a bit off-putting. While the game excels at local multiplayer and multiplayer across a single city, it's lack of ability to control the length of time that is allowed to answer questions makes higher ping times across state lines unfair to non-local players. The requirement for a separate app on your phone or tablet would lead you to believe that this app would be able to overcome the lag of larger ping times, but that is not the case. The game's score keeping is geared more toward repeat players, which goes well with its app interface (which is a bother to download for new players). Overall, a very enjoyable game with lots of replayability, but it fails in the spontaneity and ease of interface of Jackbox games series.

Seems that you need a same WI-FI network for your phone devices to play this game with your friends. It is surely a good idea to play on the same couch with your friends from different cities during the world-spreaded pandemic.
Could not connect to the room with my friends from different places since we obviously had different IP adresses. Even I had issues with it connecting sitting in the same room as my PC since I have no locked IP.
Shame, could be a good party game if it only was working like Jackbox trivia games.
Also no support of Russian language. Come on, guys, commies are also a target for party trivia games.

Would refund if I could but this game was bought way too long ago.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I was quite sceptical at first, looking at the screenshots; the A.I presenter looked spooky. Haha turned out to be a jokey humorous person with great commentary! and announces questions and says your name when asking a question unlike other lazy quiz games that don't make an effort to talk at all and use subtitles alone :/ . It has a real Feel Quiz TV show experience and great questions which are quite common to know and some challenging ones too. Family friendly! Definitely 5 STAR ***** No regrets here. Amazing how you can use the app on your phone as a control pad to answer the questions and therefore it can be great when making custom games with friends and family with a massive multiplayer capacity. Exciting round types you can add to your game, which make each round different! Worth the purchase! Definitely value for money!

Had lots of fun with the family with this game in lockdown, we haven't had any connectivity problems as others have stated. The main thing that seems to avoid people being kicked is to tell your party members to not touch any notifications on their phones/devices and especially do not leave the app when playing.

We have had some flawless games, it works exactly as intended and the rounds are fun and interesting. It's great you can make your own custom rounds too as I stream it to my family over Zoom and being able to take the timed rounds out of the game really helps with the lag that Zoom creates.

OMG, I can not correctly craft the words, nor, explain exactly why this title is a massive deal to me, I’d have to go over about 3 pages of history and back story to perfectly paint you the story setting you up for the explosion of happiness I felt when I saw the team behind the Buzz games was back, with another question panel quiz show game. These guys did not disappoint either this game has all the perfect levels of with, fun and love I remember from those days old. I have troubleshot almost every issue I've come across, but cannot seem to figure this one out. I'm not wasting anymore time on this game. It is being uninstalled, it is not worth the headache it is causing me. The potential for this game is so incredibly great, but the devs have completely dropped the ball on addressing KNOWN issues with this game. When and IF this game is ever functioning properly, I might consider reinstalling it, but honestly, there will need to be MAJOR work done.

Why you shouldn't buy it:
-The Translations are bad
-The Questions are boring
-The Voice is terrible
-Salli always calls Players over an certain age "very old" which is very rude
-Salli's Comments are rude
-You need to download a 255mb app to play
-After every single Round you are prompted to share the game.
Im gonna refund this.

At start i didnt like because you need a phone to play localmultiplayer , but after 1 game i saw why its better whit a phone (easy to play whit phone and more enterteining and fast for all 10 types of diffrent rounds) and yes , a free controller for all your firends (up to 8 players in a game). So the game creators had an excellent ideea.
The game is very well made , a lot of questions(31000+) and you can make a custom game with any mods you want.
I hope they will continue suport this game.

Using Steam Link and a Samsung Galaxy tablet, we put this on the TV over Christmas and shared the game via an online call. that meant the whole family, across the country could all play at the same time. Worked really well. Best of 2021 was a welcomed update!! All in all well worth the money.

Very good game in terms of graphic and functionality. The host avatar is funny and whole game flow is very smooth and enjoyable. You can answer questions on your phone on both android and iOS. I'm not a big fan of a questions topics selection, but in general the feeling is very good.

Easily the best quiz game that I've ever played (and I've tried a lot of them). Good questions, a lot of diverse game modes and nice feeling that you are attending some fancy game show. There are only 2 downsides:
1) you need to install a mobile app to play with friends, which is extra effort. to have a mobile website instead, like jackbox or papa's quiz do, will be more convenient
2) there are "bad days" when game servers seem to work not as good, so there are some lags and glithes. to be fair, they are way less frequent now.

Minor issues aside, easy recommendation for all the quiz lovers.

Not customizable enough and the AI is annoying and unskippable. Way too many questions about bridges and airports, you think we go outside?

Since the first lockdown this has been one of the go to games to play with family/friends. Brilliant game and the variation in questions/rounds leads to many hours of fun

There's probably a lot that can be said about the bits and pieces on the edges of this game (sound design good, AI host interesting idea but the execution is mixed, game design not compelling), but the core of any quiz game is the questions, which is unfortunately where this game falls most short.

Another comment suggests that the questions have been scraped from the internet using AI, which would certainly make sense given how it would tie in to using text-to-speech for the AI as well. It would also explain the low quality of many of the questions, and the frankly bizarre way the game chooses which questions to ask. In my very first game, there where two differently worded questions about which football team Klinsmann and Eto'o joined in 2007, and two questions in a row about Bruce Willis's daughters.

The questions writers - if it's not all just AI generated - also don't seem to grasp that there's a difference between trivia and quizzing. We often use them interchangably, but trivia is, by nature, trivial. It's questions like 'what is the collective noun for a group of these creatures?' - I had another game where there was two or three animal questions to do with the noun for the child, or the male, of the species - or 'what year did such and such happen?' - again, I got three questions in a round about the age of certain world leaders when they came to office or died. These kinds of questions are ok to throw in, but they should be interspersed with questions that actually test general knowledge.

As a result, this completely falls flat. If the core of the game is unfun, the rest doesn't really matter. Back to Sporcle, I guess...

This game has become my regular Friday night trivia on my Ryder's Bar and Chill Live Streams. It allows up to 99 users to play straight from the chat. They have really made my stream more active the more people play, could use a couple more modes like custom quiz and maybe some more layout options for better streaming.
