This game is much better than its predecessor in every regard. The devs listen to the feedback, ideas and wishes of the players and fans, which is commendable. It's not perfect and needs to fix some issues, but it's a decent game in its current state and the post-launch support is still far from being finished. There will still be some DLCs and free updates to support and improve the game even further.
I really like the customisation possibilities, the new different biomes (like desert, taiga etc.), the lagoons (although they still need some improvements) and aviaries, which gives the player the possibility to bioengineer and keep marine and flying reptiles.
There is also dynamic AI behaviour and hunting now, including pack hunting for certain carnivores, which considerably makes the animals feel more alive in general.
What the game really needs is new attractions. It's kind of surprising that the game hardly added anything new in this regard. Concerning animal behaviour, things like walking animations for pterosaurs and sauropods being able to fight back against carnivores are highly needed improvements. Hopefully the devs will handle these issues in future updates and DLCs.

All in all, this game is quite good and definitely a must have for every dinosaur fan, especially for those who also like park building simulators. Definitely recommended.

this was a very thought out amazing game with stunning graphics and a spectacular story line/campain. It was fun play through with challenges along the way and that only made it funner. I got it 5 days ago and have already played 20 hours of it.

Really enjoyable builder that has a conservationist twist to it, giving the player more things to do than just pure profits and amusement rides. I love all the little touches like getting to ride along with your guests in the cars as they go through the park. It instantly gave me the feel of being in the movies and the magic of it all again.

I find the details and graphics in this game very fun. I wasn't sure what to expect but it has surpassed my expectations thus far. Its pretty in depth and interactive, the dinosaurs respond to you and their environment.
It is fairly detailed in game play/tasks but has a good tutorial/how to start to it that allows you to learn as you go. Also has a good variety of ways to play, challenges, campaigns, sandbox etc.
A lot of cut away to movie clips, some you can skip through some you cannot.
Idk if it matters, but I purchased this game on sale, as im cheap like that (haha)
I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

I like the detail added to the first and last one dinosaur wise. I really do like that in this game there are things that were annoying in the last game that made them not annoying in this one.

Lots of black things on the screen. Soon I will have a new graphics card and ram, and hard drives. Hopefully fixes that. The game itself is very good, high quality even with lower settings, runs slow, but as I said I am getting more storage soon, which I know will fix this problem.

Oh my god, i cannot begin to describe how amazing this game is. The quality is amazing, they got all original voice actors (not owen grady) but they did so amazing. The campaigne is challenging yet short, and the chaos theory as it should be, is long and hard. Each mode has it's own challenge and each attempt is trial and error in some cased. the animations on the dinosaurs is also incredible, I would reccomend this to people who adore dinosaurs, JP/JW, park building, and challenges.

This new iteration has improved on a lot of things, interaction among the dinosaurs, being first imo. But the amount of bugs and simple carelessness with game design is appalling. Multiple save-ending bugs exist, forcing you to lose everything restarting. And its like they didn't even try and play using the current camera design. Clicking or choosing almost anything auto-forces your camera to certain angles, usually zoomed all the way out. Spent a minute getting close and looking at this cool thing? Don't dare try and click first-person view otherwise you are immediately zoomed all the way out to choose where to put yourself.

Overall, most aspects are improved. But the ones that got worse make it, at times, literally unplayable. Don't spend more than $20, and even thats probably high.

Creepersucsedy
Creepersucsedy

really good graphics and game play it keeps me entertained for hours and is very rewarding and its very fun to ride and control the helicopters. in addition the goals are set to challenge you and your abilities. you also have to find ways to solve a challenge that doesn't have an immediate answer. so if you like city builders or something like that (building games) and like animals specifically dinosaurs then this is definitely the game for you

Ghostarico
Ghostarico

At initial launch the game was lacking in content but almost all of my complaints at launch have been satisfied with the updates they've continued to release every couple months. It's still missing some things like attractions and stuff but I feel at the moment it is in a stable state and definetely worth buying if you have the money.

You can raise dinosaurs, you can feed them, you can built an entire theme park. What's not to love about this. This is better than Sims

Alyasta
Alyasta

I've put a bunch of hours trying to do the challenge modes, however, because of the bugs in their game that they're still not fixing I can't complete the game modes. I had trouble finishing the chaos theory mode's due to the same issues.
1) Dino's will randomly stop eating, even with available food.
2) Feeders will stop automatically releasing food
3) Dino's will randomly walk out of their enclosures
4) Medical and Ranger cars will randomly get stuck in buildings and be destroyed. (Mainly when you have them check on the aquatic animals or flyers. When returning to their "cars" the cars get stuck inside the buildings)
5) Dino's will have all their needs met but will not give you credit for the missions.

The only way to report these bugs is on their website, however, I can't log in via steam, can't log in via epic games launcher, and can't log in using their OWN account - so there's no way to report the bugs. They won't fix these issues, so I wouldn't waste your money on the game because some modes you can't even finish because these issues are in the game.

Permafrost
Permafrost

this is almost a 5 star game, i have had a few glitches and bugs (nothing major). so far i am loving JWE2, i have completed the campaign and am working through chaos theory.
my only problem with gameplay is it needs to have animal breeding, since its post dominion the dinos should be able to breed. Frontier allowed it in planet zoo, it would also be nice to run a sandbox facility (no guests) in the biosyn campaign you never open a "park" so it would be cool if we could choose whether we want guests or not

OMG game of the year for me,WAY better than the first one, chaos theory is a fun addon, the DLC just adds on to the fun, however, the whole scientist thing is stupid, other than that, crazy fun game, never got bored, sandbox so i can make my perfect park,10\10 game, worth the money for the DLC to.

AlligatorFist
AlligatorFist

The campaign is BRUTALLY short for the first DFW part, each mission moves quickly, basically just teaching you a basic management skill each time. The Biosyn Jurrasic World Dominion movie tie-in section takes a while to complete just because of the financial cliff you need to climb. Then, after you complete it and start the second mission of the Biosyn campaign there is a PowerPoint picture cutscene, and the second campaign just kind of... ends? I won't spoil it but, you fix some issues, and then oops you're done, "Dinosaurs and Humans living together, blah blah blah", roll credits. I was hoping they'd tie back together and allow for a multi-site campaign like in the first game but no, you are just done.

Also, you need scientists for EVERYTHING. Research, Expeditions, Incubation/synthesis of dinosaurs, you need scientists, they needlessly cluttered up the game. Also, are you struggling financially? Fire scientists and let your profit rake in for a few months. Also, you can only have 1 ranger team per ranger building without an upgrade for a second. The park management has turned to park micromanagement. Rangers have minuscule task lists and each building can only have 2 upgrades. Everything about the game at this point (09/29/22), feels like a step in the wrong direction for the game.

EDIT: Another issue I have found is replacing fences, want to upgrade your fences? Guests and dinos can walk right through fences you've selected for "upgrade", and if not walking through them it can quickly tank a park rating as you go through to upgrade your fences.

Its just like the first game but with a hell of alot new dinos and also more missions.

Just as a warning, Make sure your internet is properly hooked and it will not disconnect when opening the game because that can cause all your data to be removed and the message "Save/Load error" will pop up.

Do i recommend? yes. but it has some caveats. they added a bunch of really cool stuff. but in doing so, kind of lost the original beauty of this game. there are no longer 5 isles you have to move through getting better and better. they added too many game modes and lost the original recipe that drew me to this game. so yes, you could get it. but id recommend just playing the original again because its not the same. and thus, im having a hard time motivating myself to keep playing.

Superb game, if you want a god / creating game ... there really isn't much better than this. The graphics in 4k are stunning, a load of modes to keep you occupied and the sandbox lets yo really go to town with your creative side .. 10/10 would very much recommend this game.

This game (Jurassic world evolution 2) is a real improvement over Jurassic world Evolution 1. Improved management, Improved creativity, Improved dinosaurs, Improved maps, Improved graphics, Improved everthing! Although I wish they would bring back slow motion from the first game for capture mode.
Frontier have really reviewed the lacking features of Jurassic World evolution 1 and decided to improve them. The Introduction of the scientists into the game really makes the game feel well rounded and boosts the management.
You must make sure that your staff is not overworked or undertrained or you will be sabotaged and tasks cannot be carried out. It adds that new layer of management that we have been sorely lacking in Jurassic world Evolution 1.
The dinosaurs also feel way more alive. The problem with Jurassic world evolution 1 is that the dinosaurs feel don't have that feeling of having a soul. Interactions between each other are just standing in cult circles and that was about it.
But now in Jurassic world evolution 2 we can get unique social animations! With some being utterly adorable. Even the T-rex gets a social animation which kind of remind me of two dogs rubbing and playing with each other!
There are also pack hunting and the fighting system has been slightly improved, but perhaps not as much as we would have liked. The dinosaurs still square up to each other, butthey can perform random unique attacks while fighting.
For example:
When a Rex and Spino are fighting, there will be a chance that they will perform a unique animation where both dinosaurs will leap over do a elegant swirl, snap at each other and the result is that they have switched sides. That there will be the normal biting animation. This does improve the fighting system but I wish they could implement ambush attacks.
Perhaps when a spino isn't watching and sits down next to a forest, the T - Rex could sneak up on the Spino and land a surprise attack.
The last major improvement is the creativity and customisation. We get so much new decorations in jurassic world evolution 2. From planters and fountains to sheds and lights. it really allows us to decorate the empty spaces within our park and really make it interesting to look at. Contrast this to the first game and you will really see the difference.
Not only that but you can change the looks of some amenity buildings such as shops and guest attractions. You can change the signage, roof styles, ground decorations, colour of the lights of the building and the colour of the building itself.
All these show that Jurassic World Evolution 2 is leaps and bounds better than Jurassic world evolution 1.
But no game is perfect, and Jurassic world evolution does need to implement certain improvements in some areas.
Such as new dinosaur attractions.
We have viewing galleries, towers, tours and monorails, but that is about it.
We need more attractions!
Real theme parks have uncountable amounts of different attractions that will give guests unique experiences, and that is something that we sorely lack in Jurassic world evolution 2. The dinosaur roster is big enough, we don't need new dinosaurs, we need more attractions!

For me I will give this game a solid 8.5/10.
It is really fun and an absolute blast of a experience. I really want this game to reach a solid 9.5 out of ten! Of course no game will ever reach 10/10.

I recommend this game to any jurassic fans and also to the previous fans of jurassic world evolution 1.

Thanks for reading.

I guarantee that when/IF they make JWE3, it will just be the same game AGAIN just like how this one worked.

Meaning : Improvements to UI / Graphics, but the pre-order will suck just like this one and it will be full of "Dino pack" DLCs and not any actual improvements until they MAYBE add another Dr.Wu pack, but that should of just been base game content from the VERY beginning.

i love this game to be honest, sandbox mode with everything unlocked is so fun to just go in and make whatever the hell you want whether it be an aesthetically pleasing park or a death-match battle royale lol, you can also use the mods on nexus which is moving really quick i would say. the only downside is if you want to unlock everything legit you have to complete multiple different challenges which can be hard for noobs. But if you're a veteran then don't sweat it, and for the noobs out there, you can just go on nexus and download the 100% save file and play around in sandbox. Is this game worth full price? no because there is not a lot of decorations they give you and the aquatic/aviary dino scene is severely lacking compared to the land dinos. I would say if you love games like these then get it on sale.

Love this game so much, even the bugs can be funny! But it would be a fun DLC or free update if you can make the dino a male or a female and they can reproduce, like biosyn where its an ecological center. Carnivores: Mom and dad will make a nest and the baby's will stay there until there are a few months old, one of the parents should watch the kid(s) and protect them while one of the parents go to find food for every one in the family. Herb: The babys will travel in a herd with the parents and the parents and the herd should protect the babys. if its a raptor or a compy or any other carnivore pack dino it should have 3 or more babys. id love to see new dinos too! if this is a dlc im buying it right away so i hope this will be a DLC or a free update.

Game seems to be a bit of a resource hog than the first game. (RX5700) I can hear the fans going nuts. That being said, so far everything looks good, runs good. Game play is similar but unlike the first, just in the tutorial alone, there seems to be an emphasis on controlling the vehicles where as before, you can just assign tasks. Maybe later in the game?? But anyway its tedious and while its not an issue for me, for some folks, it can be. Outside of that, its hard not to give the game a thumbs up considering how I enjoyed the first, just a few adjustments to look out for.

I am on the fence about this one. On the one hand, dinosaurs! They're cool, and it's fun making them in pretty colors. But the game itself doesn't feel user friendly. It doesn't make it clear enough what is needed to grow your park, or what base techs you should invest in first, although there clearly are base techs you have to have because if you don't you fail in a hurry. The storms last way too long and hit you way too hard - not only replacing damaged buildings, but the loss of income plus the hit to your rating because people can't get around make them very difficult to plan for and recover from. Then the needs of your patrons change and it's not always clear why, plus no alerts for any potential issues. Altogether, it feels like the game is actively getting in the way of you learning it. I ended up spending too much time frustrated to say it's worth throwing a lot of money at it if you're not really into dinos.

This game is incredible! The amount of thought that went into the mechanics of this game is unbelievable, from the adaptation of environmental needs vs. species variety and numbers right to the effects of the weather and the balancing of amenities with local areas interest and modules. I Could go on for hours about all the small details that make this game very lifelike. The graphics are incredible, the dino's appearance and movement is awesome and the gene mods for skins is one of my favourite aspects of editing their DNA. Would be awesome if they could bring in the Titan Boa! Overall an incredible game, many hours of play variety throughout the different campaigns and challenge modes and I highly recommend getting the DLC's.

It's alright. If you played the first game, they improved on a lot of things and added new terrain into the mix so that it's not always in the jungle. There's about a million dinosaurs for you to breed (also pterosaurs and some of the water ones too - including giant aviaries and tanks). There's lots of new buildings, finally some decorations (although not that many).

The only bad thing is that this game sticks to the Jurassic Park movie dinosaur knowledge. Paleontology has revealed a ton of new things about dinosaurs and these guys just keep showing us that goofy dilophosaurus from the movie that has nothing to do with reality or velociraptors that look like walking lizards while in reality they were more like birds.

A tad bit too much micromanaging for my taste. The aquatic reptiles can't do much and there's little customization for lagoons, but aviary enclosures are great. Electricity can be managed much better in this game than the first one, there's a ton more customization in terms of buildings and how they look. More ways to change the environment then before. Dinosaur models look better, and there's tons of dinos to choose from. Overall, I'd say it isn't better than the previous installment, but it sure isn't worse. If you liked the first one, you'll enjoy this one. It's basically the first game with slightly different managing mechanics, different maps, different campaign/story, and new dinos.

As a Park Simulator, it's definitely a pretty solid one. Some additional decorations and guest attractions would obviously make things better, as well as the usual bug fixes to help optimize the game. But from where it stands, I would definitely recommend it for anyone who are still hesitant, although I do advise to try and get it when a sale is going on so you can pick up some DLCs straight away as the base game isn't gonna be the most wallet-friendly for some. Speaking of DLCs, hoping to see some more coming down the line, maybe perhaps a Malta Expansion Pack which can include Lystrosaurus, Oviraptor, Atrociraptor with a Demon Carnotaurus skin and adult Allosaurus variant? Or maybe a Mantah Corp DLC which can introduce Bio-Domes that are suitable for housing dinosaurs and can come alongside new creatures such as Nothosaurus and Smilodon, with perhaps a Little Eatie T.rex and enlarged Spinosaurus variant? Would be cool to see these come in the game eventually since they are part of the canon.

Not a bad game, but the maps are WAAAAYYY too small. Seriously, games from 15 years ago had bigger maps it's really disappointing how small they are. There is no possible way to fit every dino into one park, even if you went super compact (which wouldn't meet their area needs anyway). Looks like once again the modding community will have to compensate for dev laziness.

Might be a personal issue, but the game keeps crashing every 5 - 20 minutes. Went through all the usual stuff, drivers, fixes etc. No change. The game itself seems unstable. People have been reporting this problem since launch and there's no patch for it.

-------------------------------------------------------------

Edited to add: Sandbox mode isn't sandbox mode. Pretty much all the maps are locked until you do the crappy campaign, Chaos Theory AND THEN and their time challenge mode (which is the worst mode out of all of theml). The game makes you play the boring stuff before you can have fun. Do the devs know what a sandbox is? It's a mode to allow creative freedom. Straight in the deep end, sink or swim, whatever you want, but no. So that's pretty silly; a contradiction actually.

I played Sandbox for a couple hours and put storm frequency low and made all the dinos have good health (but still able to get sick). After about 30 minutes and 2 crashes, I got a storm that gave all of my dinos... rabies? The vet took so long to go around all my paddocks and aviaries some of the dinos died. Seriously that is some BS. How does a sandstorm give anything rabies, ever?

Then one of my dinos got dehydrated and died because it stood in a pond and didn't move or do anything. I kept getting the vet to heal it up but the dino wouldn't move so it died.

Lot of problems apparent after just 10 hours of playtime. Shame it's too late to refund or I definitely would.

I hate sauropods, they require SO MUCH STUFF, ESPECIALLY APATOSAURUS, IF THEY DIE IN MY PARK, I DO NOT CARE!!!

They took the theme park out of the game. ... I think. 2 hours into the campaign and I am refunding. Having not watched the movies (cause they're bad) I didn't realize this game was all about tracking down "wild" dinos and bringing them into a holding pen., Not a park, a pen. They took all the fun out of this game. Just play the first one if you want to manage a dinosaur theme park. This game is just a shoot'em up from vehicles against dinos... But still not fun.

As a new player, the only downside I found is that the tutorial is so very lacking.... I had to resort to Youtube to resolve some basic matters. In what moment making good tutorials became out of fashion? Because this is certainly not the only game with a lazy tutorial.
Aside from that annoying tutorial thing, the game seems to be, so far, interesting, and the visuals are very good.

Spent hours building a functioning park, and then got randomly nailed by two back-to-back tropical storms that knocked the power out, destroyed half my buildings, a ton of fences, killed a third of my dinosaurs, released the rest, and lowered the park rating down to a one star. I surveyed the damage in the aftermath, and said "You know what, I had a good run. I think I'm done." I'm basically the evil businessman from these movies who tries sneaking out the back door when it all hits the fan, only to get eaten by a raptor or T-rex.

It was a fun 10 hours or so though. Probably fun for way more, if you've got the patience for it (which I clearly don't).

pretty good. would have appreciated some higher graphics quality and DEFINITELY would have liked a campaign that was more than a tutorial. Kindda pathetic. This is basically just a parks manager sim with dinosaurs. Not a Jurassic Park game.
