Buy if you like making Crazy Physics with cars and people flying to the moon.
Really fun if you like games that you can tinker with.
I started Just Cause series with JC3, which I liked a lot. Then I played JC2, I liked JC3 more. Now I've played JC4, I still like JC3 the most.
JC4 is a big let down. I think its because of the graphics, it makes the game less engaging. I didn't even care to do side missions/tasks. I just wanted to complete the story missions and never open this game again.

Have the steelbook edition for PS4 Pro, and it's looks BAD. On console the game is horrendous , is muddy, blurry , low textures and the framerate is all over the place. They try to fix the engine from JC3 ( where the game look gorgeous but have execrable framerate and framdrops like 22 to 10 fps) and destroy the engine in JC4.
BUT is a really big BUT, i buy the gold edition for PC ........... men is spectacular this game , framerate are stable between 144 and 120 ( with some minor freeze because the engine is destroy to run on consoles), gameplay is spectacular , the felling of war in the map is grate ( they are locations like borders where is fight between army and rebels very cool ) the flaying system is more refined now, new care physics , and much more thinks to destroy.
On the BAD side , game freeze randoms for 1 second, the cutscene that are not in engine are VERY LOW REZ AND TEXTURE because are copy from the consoles, some audio lines are low quality, some bugs in the world.
Verdict:
PS4 Pro : 35/100
PC : 86/100
Conclusion : Avalanche made a good game but destroy the engine to run on console.
I've played jc3 about 3 months before this and i can say that jc4 is better in some ways like better cars and tornados and that stuff. I was really lost the first time i played and the cutscenes don't have the best graphics but the action is still there just not as much as jc3. If you get the gold edition for 15 bucks its a good deal but i don't recommend buying it when it's not on sale!!!
good game if you have a supercomputer i have a good laptop (i know) and got the game for 24 dollars but it runs slow on lowest everything and crashes alot, which i dont think is my computer.
I reinstalled to give this another try. Still a hard pass after an hour and a half of CTDs, lag, stuttering, and just generally not being fun. What the hell happened, and how?
So I cant do first person stuff when you are in a single turret like position. It makes my skin crawl. Idk prolly some neurodivergent thing. Either way I really love this game franchise and there is a mission i cant play past cause i'm basically forced into a AA turret. I REALLY like the just cause franchise but i just cant. I want to play this game so bad cause i love every one of these games and the fact I cant go third person in a turret (Or at the very least its not easily explained and I quit after five attempts with my entire body screaming no) makes me a bit sad. I know this game is old and they'll never fix this but I felt like I should let some people know so that if they have the same thing I got going on with turret hatred they know.
graphics are worst than 3 on the ps4, rico has no grnades or bombs, on top of that it says it has controllor suport but I cant use one, aswell as the dlc sucking, and the severs for all just cause games on all plat forms being down. and bridges cat be broken and you dont have too take shit over, you only have to do one thingto take over 1 area... also the physics are ass
Game genarally allmost identical to JC3 and you have to do same missions over and over in different places that was kinda boring but fun , fast paced, and explosive gameplay
Movement feels great! That's about the only positive thing to say about this game.
World. destruction, and challenges are uninspired. Seems like they added a bunch of crap that nobody cares about, that doesn't really change anything about the core game.
Holy moly this game is boring!
Tentative recommendation. Traversal and explosion mechanics are still solid, but without much incentive to raise chaos. Stunts are fun, but padded out to over 400 of them for 100%? It makes me tired.
They somehow made blowing up fascists after wingsuiting off of a flying boat... boring.
No difficulty adjustment, enemy AIs have deadly accuracy, escort mission is pretty much failure, no skip checkpoint.
So, I went in with a decent brand loyalty, but unfortunately JC4 is just a bit... boring. I booted up the older game just to check if I had rose tinted goggles, but no. JC3 has much better polish. 4 wins out for raw sandbox capability, to be fair.
* JC3's map is much more usable and intuitive. It's easy to see what missions you have, and what the payoff will be. I still don't understand JC4's map, and I've written mapping software before...
* Some of the vehicle challenges are just chores. Having to find a specific vehicle... bleh. There was a surprising amount of "search an area for an object" missions, which I didn't find fun. Just put a waypoint on the object and let me get back to making poor/hilarious wingsuit choices.
* This might just be my mind playing tricks but I swear JC3's wingsuit controls much better. Responds faster? Not sure.
* Story is putting me to sleep. This isn't bad per se for a sandbox game, but in this instance it just leads to a dozen near-identical side (required) missions with the exact same objectives in almost the same environment. After a bit I got clearing them down to a (boring) science. Even the story missions relied heavily on the same formula, but at least the mission progression and environments were slightly different.
If this is your first Just Cause, just play 3! I loved getting close to 100% on 3 but I think I'm just gonna speedrun 4 and skip as much of the unlockables as possible.
TL;DR Absolute sh*tshow, avoid at all cost.
If you liked JC 1-3 and are playing with keyboard+mouse, do not buy (i don't use controller so can't give advice there). Or set a timer so you don't over that 2 hour limit and refund. I went over and can't do that. Stupid me... I really have liked the series and the free destruction in it, was hyped for the 4, and the result is a steaming pile of ****. I tried liking it but i can't. I Just Can't 4.. Remember when the devs took out the button-challenge for bombs and hijackings from JC2 away to streamline the gameplay for JC3? That was obviously the wrong direction for the devs. They want more button smashing, not less!
There is literally nothing better in this then in JC3, even graphics are similar to 3, it's just more jungle and more UI-crap on the screen that means nothing. So do yourself a favour and pick the Just Cause 3 (last good Just Cause-game) from a discount, put a couple mods in and enjoy much more then you could ever do in this ... game.
Nothing works like the previous and well working games. Everything was changed and for the worse. In Just Can't 4 they doubled down on the controls so that many of the buttons need two functions, just so they could cram more things in. "Just Cause" and "buttons-galore" are not two things that belong in the same sentence. It's like the devs noticed there is thing called keyboard and they could cram more things into it then previously!
I can imagine the discussion:
Director: I want buttons for everything.
Coders: Everything..?
Director: EVERYTHING!!!
Coders: How about two functions for every button!?
Director: *heavy breathing*
The functions are scattered all around the keyboard with little logic. You need several hours to just learn and memorize the buttons and their functions. As a little example, the control options lists 4 different buttons for "next menu" and "previous menu". Where is that menu? It's button "1" where it previously was in "Tab". And the grab hook? They changed it from "mouse right" because heck, why not! It's only the most used thing in the game! "Right mouse" has now zoom aim. And that "mouse right" has to have two modes, press and hold, just so they could get more things in! And if you happen to have machine gun with a shield, it's a third button for one gun plus the mandatory reload button! And that previously working grab hook, the biggest and funniest thing in Just Cause-games..? There is now half a dozen buttons for it! You apparently can't tighten the tether yourself anymore, it does it automatically. But there is now two buttons for "quick-reel" because that was apparently a priority. Previously used "F" for throwing grenades was changed to the industry standard "Middle Mouse". Why? So they could cram more buttons for that "F"!!!
And all in all, everything that previously nice and neat, is now menus, CONSTANT mayhem (whether you wanted or not) and idiotic controls because .. i don't know. They like it confusing. It's not like nobody wanted to play a fun and casual game like Just Cause. More convenient to take button controls, mix them up in a bag and throw them to table and see how confusing they could make everything. I'm not going to spend hours to just get this game playable in menus and with mods, this game is dead to me. Make the next Just Cause like JC2 or JC3 and i'll consider buying. With big reservations.
Honestly way weaker than Just Cause 3. It can be fun, but the design just doesn't build to be fun. It's very easy to feel grindy, or unaccomplished. Certainly wouldn't recommend paying full price.
to keep it a stack, this game is kind of a mess... I beat the shit out of just cause 3 back in the day on ps4. it was my first just cause game but I absolutely loved it... now playing this years later isn't nearly the same. it still has its moments, and for $7 I can't complain. but this definitely makes me want to relive jc3 again rather than play jc4.
its ight ig lmao i mean i idek i used to play just cause 3 a lot on my xbox i think thats better than this but i dont really remember but my friend bought me 3 on steam cause hes a goat so when i play it again ill find out witch is better
Not as good as JC2 or JC3, but if you get it on sale and don't care about story too much, it's good, mindless fun for 15-20 hours.
My friend loaned me his pc to play this game. ITS FANTASTIC. It's a fantastic return to Just Cause 1's game design, Just Cause 2's variety, with Just Cause 3's technology. I can't fanboy enough about this game. The guns all have unique attachments to replace the Just Cause 3 grenades, the world is finally DESIGNED for the wingsuit. The story starts off a lot simpler so characters can have proper payoff (because there's only one writer). The Black Hand actually chase you down in tanks and helicopters so you can have NATURALLY OCCURRING ACTION SCENES.
Missions are back! And you don't need to talk to people to initiate them while you explore the world! You no longer have to scrounge bases for destructables, instead you're rewarded for finding them in other ways. It feels so much less like a chore!
Speaking of chores There's no longer any grinding to get your Just Cause 3 upgrades. You have most of them to start. All upgrades add on to your preexisting tool kit. Please Play Just Cause Four. Choose the desert instead of the Plains if you want variety early on. Squads are ONLY for story progression (the warfronts are icing on top). Step three Have a good time. :)
I am a just cause 3 player and let me say one thing, visuals wise this game looks better everything else.... fucking boring, compared to Just cause 3 this is a snooze-fest that forces me to do some quests instead of putting me into a world where I can do whatever whenever
I find the game-play very repetitive and boring, therefore I recommend buying the older one, this game left me thinking thank god I only spent $6
A good 4th installation to the series. The side missions needed to complete the main story are a bit repetitive though.
As far as open world games go, even with the bugs that it still has, this is STILL the best Open World available in 2022.
This could be a very good game, except for the following.
The programmers behind the game really suck at making things proper difficult, and seem to be too stupid to take anything but the easy way.
What do I mean?
- Enemy helicopters ALWAYS magically appear behind you. You will never see them coming until you're currently getting shot.
- Whenever you are flying, which should be one of the many joys of this game, there will ALWAYS be a super accurate enemy plane shooting you from behind. They have perfect evasive maneuvers and perfect aim. Again, they, too, are magic and will only appear directly behind you. There is no way to stop them, and no way to fight back. This and the helicopters problem makes me think that the developers hate their customers in that they don't want them to fly around the game, DESPITE giving the player a fun jet pack and access to all flying vehicles. "You can have these things, but you just can't use them for fun." -devs
- Ground bases magically have enemy soldiers appear in infinite amounts and they, too, are perfectly accurate when shooting at you.
- Many times something will just blow you out of the sky and you will have no idea where it came from and how it hit you, even though you may have been flying randomly. It will still hit you and you will just fall from the sky unable to do anything because the recovery times takes about three days.
Despite the possibility of this game being a very fun very open-ended open world game full of exploration and multiple side quests to feel like you're making a difference in the game world, and making good progress, the developers have seen fit to completely ruin that with poor enemy programming and garbage enemy cheating. It's so very frustrating that I cannot play this trash fire for more than a couple hours before I end up hating it because of the problems listed above.
The story isn't that great. I offers an interesting setting and makes for a lot of cool game mechanics, but the story itself was rather underwhelming. Aside from that, this game is so much fun. Despite being uncompelling overall, the story has a lot of fun missions with cool and funny moments. There are hours of fun to be had just roaming around the world doing the stunt and speed challenges. The wing suit and grappling hook mechanics work remarkably well together and on their own. Unless the only thing you're looking for is a good story, I highly recommend this game.
Some good things about it:
*The driving is an improvement from the last Just Cause game
*Things you destroy respawn after a while so you can destroy them again
*The military vehicles are better - like there are more than one good looking tank
*The vehicle call in system/fast travel is a improvement. For example in the last one you had a limited number of vehicle
call-ins before you hade to head to some gas station or a military base. The same goas for fast travel. Which became
annoying real fast. Now you just have to wait for them to refuel and this is often not a problem.
Some bad things about the game
*The guns are less spectacular
*It only has one mech
Not bad.
I played Just Cause 2 on ps3 when i was little and alittle bit of JC3 on ps4. I know that 3 is very much like 4 and thats fine cause I just never owned JC on PC.
bit of a shame tho, id like for them to take things a different direction instead of copy paste from the last game.
I dont play the story. just fly around and blow stuff up if im bored of my other games.
This is like if they took 3, stripped all the cool fun stuff out, and replaced it with inferior versions. It's like if someone took a jelly donut, scraped out all the jelly, and filled it with strawberry flavored cough syrup.
Always enjoyed all of the Just Cause games, but this one is a huge letdown. Finished the story line and liberating the whole map in 16 hours. Can't be bothered to do any of the side activities. Here is just a list of the pro's and cons.
Pro's
- The world looks pretty
- Wide arrange of vehicles
Con's
- Looking close at objects shows the low texture quality
- The graphics of cut-scenes are bad
- Cringey dialogue
- The necessary black vegan character
- Enemies have the usual black clothed evil baddies style
- Good guys too over the top with colorful vehicles and weapons and walking around in civilian clothing while calling themselves the Army of Chaos
- Enemies are bullet sponges
- Ridicoulous enemies with grenade launchers or rocket launchers
- Enemies smashing you with five vehicles while shooting multiple explosives with you is just ridicolous
- You don't need to blow up stuff anymore. Now you need to do repetitive destroy this, open that, guard this etc.. missions to conquer regions.
- Main menu is poorly designed... Can't even leave the menu by pressing escape....
Having played a bit the first and mainly the 2nd and 3rd JC, I cannot honestly recommend this one. I'm not gonna talk about the story cause, it's juste the same as any other JC, you're just here to blow stuff up. But the rest is all too repetitive, not quite finished. The physics sometimes on vehicles is like you're driving a cardboard car. And the cutscences are just plain ugly, dunno how they managed that. If you're a big fan of the JC franchise, buy it on sale, you'll have some fun for roughly 20hours. If not, hard pass. I'm really sad to post this comment on a JC game. Hope they'll get it better next time.
I totally love this, The world is truly massive, even for a just cause game, while you dont really take over locations by destroying them anymore its still essential to do so to help you later. There are a ton of new and novel weapons and they can be used in a wide array of ways, half of the fun is just working out how to use them in a stupid and effective fashion. I dont mind the cast, although the voice actor for tom sheldon is totally different its a little jarring, otherwise yes, its a massive fun game.
I like the game. It's not great, but it's not bad, either. Sometimes the controls are a little sensitive. Sometimes things glitch out. Sometimes the physics are a bit wonky and it's really obvious that you have plot armor, especially the vehicles you're in. I just reinstalled the game to get it to stop crashing when I got near tornadoes (it worked, btw). But it's not meant to be a precise, dramatic, story-driven game, it's meant to be a large, open world playground where you blow everything up and it does that pretty alright.
If you like doing stunts JC4 is the best one in the series.
But if you anything all else what makes JC great, this one is far worse than it's predecessors.
Way too easy. At the moment I'm writing this I've spent 35 h in total and I'm almost done with the storyline, maxed my skills, haven't collected all the vehicles but it's not much of a challenge. A bit boring that you can unlock a section of the map just by playing one mission, and they're pretty much all very simple. Good thing I paid only about 1/3 - or if it was 1/4 - if the retail price. It's fun though, can spend hrs and hrs just doing side missions, drive cars and other vehicles but that grows old. JC3 was far more fun and challenging imho,
JC3 Top 5 games I've ever played... since 1975. JC4: Great world, good player, lousy control, horrible Ai, nothing what JC3 was, a true return to JC 1 and 2. Bad story, bad game play, bad experience. Only good for visting what might have been, but clearly is not. How do you go from San Andreas to GTA IV... oh, hubris.
Probably one of the best storyline Open World games I've played in a while, But I'd Prefer Just Cause 3 Weapons there more authentic,
most repetetive game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Franchise core elements were all gone other than the wing suit, parachute, and grapple. New element implemented as gracefully as attaching someone's broken legs to two separate dogs and training them to help a person walk.
Key binds are broken. I can not exit vehicles despite tapping or holding the buttons down. This is a deal breaker.
Game forces you to play story for progression and don't explain what you can do in the open word when they hand you the ability to free roam.
AI path finding is completely degraded to it's basic function. It will not check if it can fly from point A to point B without accidentally committing a terrorist act.
The game changed too much from Just Cause 3 to Just Cause 4 without properly adjusting us to the game play.
I found a runway with a plane and a bunch of explosive barrels on the runway. I got tipped over when trying to fly the plane out of the shack and spun backwards hitting obstacles.
Conclusion: I wish I could refund this legal scam of a game. I'd get intimate with my ex a second time to make this game not be an absolute disgrace to the Just Cause franchise.
Junk. Junk. And more junk. Save your cash and just replay JC3 if you feel the urge to buy this. I spent $5 to get this pile of garbage and I still feel ripped off
Honestly I enjoyed playing the game due to I enjoy blowing stuff up and causing havoc, but the cut
scenes need way more work since looking at the side textures, they all looked bland and looked like there wasnt much effort put in. However I would recommend it to others.
It's a good game for messing around i love grappling then it immidently blows up someone with the balloon explosion.
Honestly I see people playing just cause 3 and saying its a better game but I think there's a couple differences for good and bad. I like the grapple attachments in this game. They really make the physics stupid and fun. Anyone can say just cause 3 is better but this is just cause 4. The next game in the series. Hate it or like it its world just seems more alive to me and the DLC in this game is very good. Now we have to wait for just cause 5 (already confirmed) to see whats next.
Lacking in so many things. Unless there's a major discount, do not bother. Get JC3 instead. Much better. Really hope the devs do a better job with the sequel cuz there's honestly no surprise why this one is a failure.
absolute trashy moneygrab. just cause 2 was so incredibly good that they just had to kill it.
DO. NOT. PURCHASE.
Good Game, It Has Lots Of Fun Features And Things To Do Out In The Open-World
I love Just Cause. However I personally can't recommend this game.
Destruction doesn't feel cathartic and the story isn't engaging enough.
I wanted to 100% this game like I did with Just Cause 3 but unfortunately
Just Cause 4's world feels hollow.
story is 4/10
but the random stuff is fun (sand box type fun )
i think the voice actor for rico rodriguez swallowed a whale
ITS JUST A BAD REMAKE OF JUST CAUSE 2
One of my most played games and fondest memories terrorizing solis, 10/10 would recommend
Great game to mess around in. Playing with the physics, blowing up stuff, and crazy high flying stunts and gunfire are the things that bring me back to this game. Not to mention the grapple feature always gives me a good laugh!
Lots of fun and an improved gameplay experience over the 3rd installment in the series.
Love the map and it's versitality.
Honestly this game is good it has a great story line (my opinion) and the physics are good (not too well)
That all i have to say about this game
when this game was announced, i was super hyped. by that stage every instalment from the just cause series got better and better, and i was hoping that 4 would follow that trend but it seemed that for every minor improvement they added, they would remove a feature from 3 that made it awesome. on its own merit the game itself can be fun, but compared to 3 its not that great. i do want to give it some due respect. the graphics are good, the word and weather are interesting to look at, the enemy ai is smarter and there's a lot more variety to them, the physics are visually and technically impressive, and the guns feel a lot better to use.
now let me give you 20 reasons why this game is a pile of peepee.
1. the world may be more varied with a lot of attention to detail then 3's but it feels very bland and empty, 3 did have this issue but not as much as 4 and navigating through it can be a slug
2. the new weather systems add nothing to gameplay other then "oh cool a tornado"
3. the story has a much more serious tone then 3 but in turn it makes it come off as corny and slow
4. just cause 3 starts with a sick montage, just cause 4 starts with a mindless exposition dump
5. they removed c4
6. the bad guy is a cliche rich man, just cause 3's villain was a cold, ruthless and yet lazy dictator
7. the secondary fire makes each gun feel uniqe but it kinda feels like an after thought as i would always forget about it.
8. you cant blow up bridges
9. they removed c4
10. the plot structure is go here, meet new person, do things for them. build a tool to stop weather thing, done. and that happens 4 times
11. you cant liberate towns
12. the atheistic went into a more si-fi rout which is more of a personal preference thing but i like the idea of a one man army going up against an actual army rather then teched up soldiers
13. the characters are far less likeable then in three
14. the plot starts with a strong sense of finale and personal connections but ends up devolving into 'this happened once, remember just cause 1? and this is the next game"
15. the army of chaos feels more like a sales point. its there to give chaos points an actually reason for existing but it removes the liberation of bases and instead gives incentives taking over land. this adds nothing to gameplay or mission structure. what if they added big battles that you can can fight, win or loose in, what if you could train your army to be batter and have them help liberate towns. in the end it feels more in the way then anything as you have to use them to more forward in the story
16. they removed c4
17. the ui is a mess
18. the different grapple options are kinda cool but mostly forgettable as its easiest to probably just stick with the retracting one. its mainly there to send goats and cows flying through the air
19. probably the main problem, they changed the way you liberate bases, instead of blowing everything up, you insted have to do a mission that range from escorting someone, breaking prisoners out, hacking something, ect, kinda like in just cause 2 this is so incredibly stupid. in 3 it gave you so much freedom in the ways you can blow things up and that was essentially the main gameplay. in 4 they hold you arm back and forces you to do stuff you don't want to do, when what you actually want to do (explosions) just sits there teasing you.
20. why oh god did they remove the c4
in the end i wonder why i got this rather then just playing just cause 3
It's fun, but not fun like just cause 3
Disappointment. Downgraded graphics compared to JC 3. Water effects are a joke. Sure it had some fun moments, like the train mission, where you blast the hell out of enemies with a cannon mounted on a train wagon. Biggest flaw is that destroying bases has NO meaning. Bases cannot be liberated like in JC 3 , additionally , whatever you destroy RESPAWNS later. Objectives become predictable after a while, it's always hack a console, filp a switch, escort captives, destroy the generators situation. Grabbed the game for peanuts on Steam summer sale.
i like this game but it makes it freeze
a good game, could be better if taking over the wind hive wasn't so hard.
Fantastic Game with fantastic features.
Rico can do everything...... fly a plane, heli, every car has the keys in it.
Buggy at points but its okay. Buy if its on sale. Not the best in the series.
I thought Just Cause 3 was bad...but it cannot compare itself to this monstrosity.
Extremely broken physics, extremely bad A.I., major glitches, major texture problems, horrible graphics rendering and much much more.
I only 100% this game because I never want to look at it again.
No wonder they sold only a 1/3 of JC3 copies...
2/10
story is cool game is really fun really recomoned
Open world. Many challenges and missions. Good selection of weapons and vehicles. Fantastic graphics. Great fun.
Comes up very short compared to JC 2 and 3.
One of the best games I have ever played.
freedom to wingsuit all over the place as well as crash cars into shit.
and they say you cannot mass murder people without consequences
this game is shit its sequal is my favorite game every thing in this is worse in comparison in stead of fun it go for story and the didn't even do that right
No liberation, broken driving mechanics, messy UI, clunky combat, repetitive missions, mindless destruction no longer chaotic, broken physics, dumb A.I. and a huge empty open world map.
can get boring but good game overall
The graphics of the game are really awful. Even if you increase the graphics, you will still see awful graphics, even in the cutscenes, the graphics are pixelated, and I am sure you will regret downloading the game after seeing such a scene. (If you are reading this text, don't be fooled by the game images. It's just a lie)
The gameplay of the road game becomes repetitive and you get tired of flying and hitting rocks.
Of course, the game will show you a mess at the beginning of the game, so you might as well deal with that
Let's get into chaos. Where even the jet will meet you. Oh damn, I killed this soldier, but since he's dead, my bullets won't hit him!

Honestly JC3 was waaaay better. My opinion was settled based mostly on the wingsuit mechanics, especially the air braking. JC3 you could airbrake and pull of a smooth turn without coming out of wingsuit mode. in this...well...tap the airbrake and you dead stop, close your wingsuit and start falling out of the sky. I do like the frontline mechanics, it gives a nice location to go to to start blowing stuff up, but it doesnt fix what to me is a very glaring flaw. if you want a Just Cause game, your money is much better spent going for JC3 and getting the DLCs for that. the wingsuit not only looks cooler, but has better looking and functioning weapons.
Just as i expected
Arcade fun JC4 is solid :)
I tried so hard to enjoy this but every time I've played this game I've sat there the whole time saying "Why am I not playing 2 or 3?"
This game got me blowing up civilians and structures like i was a very respectful and stereotypical man from the middle east.
Lots of fun. It's like you're directing an action movie. Good stuff.
destruction is very disappointing compared to jc 2 & 3. go play 2 or 3 this game is a let down compared to the last 2
I played Just Cause 1-3, they are great. With the 4th part, everything is different. I played ~30 minutes of this game and my impression is: buggy menu, bad graphics (all in pixels), no dynamic shadows. I found that the problems mentioned are from 2018. This means no support. I wouldn't play it even if the game was free.
hahahahahahha stuff go boom boom
Cool game but not worth its price, it is basically just cause 3 but you can aim and the grappling hook is a bit different. If you are gonna buy it 100% wait till a sale.
very late review on this game. but wow really it seems like game development is about removing what was good from the previous game and amplify what no one asked. I hate game devs driven by money and lack of actual innovation. time and time again we see them fail and loose more money than they can ever get back. and they fail to learn from other teams and personal experience. just stop making games all together you guys lol
Just Cause 4 - caused a terrible nostalgia for the 2nd part.
The island was so lively and picturesque, there were a lot of planes and helicopters flying in the sky, and I felt like I was playing Just Cause 2 with only the best graphics, I even took Rico from the 2nd part.
But in some places the game disappointed me, most of the missions were boring and conveyor. The battle is tedious, and there are few explosions. I liked tornadoes and all sorts of storms with lightning. The plot is not bad.

I hate leaving bad reviews... (warning: possible spoilers)
Just Cause 4 is the weakest game in the series on many levels. Here's some of the worst issues:
1. Story: ...or the lack of one. You get a quick glimpse of the main bad guy at the start of the game, a quick exchange with his second-in-command a short while later, then nothing. No interaction with the enemy until the very end of the game. There is some interactions with friendly NPCs, but 90% of the game is non-interactive.
2. Missions/Goals: There is a main quest line but it is incredibly brief. However, to perform some of these quests, the game forces you to go out and clear some regions. Clearing regions is the only real game play here.
3. Weapons/Vehicles/Tools: To be honest, I played the entire way through with the automatic rifle I started with and a grenade launcher. Every other weapon had limitations that made them nonviable. As always, the grappling hook and call for gun/vehicle drops and location drops makes up the bulk of world traversal.
4. Graphics/Characters/Environments/Etc.: Very, very dated. Feels and looks like a lot of recycled assets from previous versions.
This game ruined my faith in the Just Cause series. I'm going to be very cautious when/if I see JC5 drop here on Steam. I'll watch game play videos and read a few reviews, but I won't buy it just on brand recognition.
I've already played Just Cause 2 and 3 which were really good game. Now coming to this game which is good upgrade on graphic side and the music is also although i find it hard on the controls side a bit in the starting. You'll have to read some instruction to get used to the grappling hook mechanics. The Story is nice and it does tell in the end that the next game of this series maybe will become last game too. I get it why it gets hate from people because of all the unnecessary things that developer added in the game but still it's a beautiful game with a nice story line. If it's on sale then definitely get this one.

When playing this, I feel like a near-invincible bullet sponge that just can't stop getting shot over and over. And the constant spawning of enemies makes it so unsatisfying to defeat anyone. I'm barely into the corny story and I'm already rolling my eyes about some of the silly lines and odd decisions characters make, like not shooting when it would be advantageous. I can't quite place it yet - I really don't feel like looking more closely - but something about the graphics feels off too. It definitely feels duller than Just Cause 3's graphics, I'm not sure what happened there.
I massacred an entire civilization lmo ☠☠☠ 10/1O
red thing go boom. everything also goes boom. life complete
I love 3rd person action games especially the ones where you just blow stuff up. Mercenaries 1 and 2 were some of my favorites. I really liked Just Cause 3. It was a great game to turn your brain off and just blow stuff up. Taking out each base at a time as I improved my movement and weapons was great. So it was really a surprise to find out how much I didn't like this one. They ruined.. well.. everything. The things that pop out in my head in no particular order.
- infinite enemies harass you at all times no matter what. Not in a fun way, more like being attacked by really weak bees but instead of stingers they just wear on your interest by buzzing around you.
- Its no longer about destroying bases and big explosions... which i thought was the whole pitch of the JC games. Seems like stunts are the focus now. I mean destroying bases isnt even a thing any more.
- The whole movement thing doesnt feel good any more. I found it impossible to stay in the air with the wing suit unlike the 3rd one.
- 3rd game was easy to grapple what you want like enemy planes but I found it more difficult in this game.
- Driving isnt fun, cant put my finger on why.
- The map is huge but completely empty of anything interesting.
- Objectives are not clear as to what they are or why you should do them or what reward you will get.
- You start with all abilities. There is no unlocking, no leveling.
- The weaponry is not interesting.
- The grappling hook was turned into a gimmick and made incredibly complicated.
- The wing suit is a nightmare. I'm unsure why but it just doesnt feel smooth and its hard to even go in the direction you want. Grapple hooking for speed just seems to send you into the ground.
I would just recommend playing Just Cause 3.
it is very fun but sometimes it is confusing
i think that this game is really i really this game
i love this game sure its a little toned down from just cause 3 but i also never played just cause 3 but i love this game. i love gore and big boom and wacky stuff so this game is right up my ally i dont care on what other people say about this game i love it for what it is and i know for a fact i could not make a better game. it runs fine on my gaming laptop most of the times i start the game up it crashes but if i just try to enter the game again it wont happen. i highly suggest you get the game the story is REALLY REPETITIVE like for every mission you go to a base and you kill some people and hack a computer and then your basically done so the missions are super boring but if you have a friend over its a blast just dickn around so i give this game an ez 10 for sure
Just Cause 3 had a perfect formula when it came to gameplay, it was simple but intriguing, this game took that simple formula and added a bunch of random shit to it for no reason, that in the end just overcomplicates the game and makes it unfun. If you do wish to buy this game wait for a sale
I laughed a lot at the animation and soulless expressions from the characters.
this is a lot worse than i remember
Great solo game, as they say many times in the game it's all about chaos. Breaking things, flying around, and shooting whatever makes this game one of my favorites. 10/10 recomend to anyone (easiest with a controller but not difficult without)
buy this game its good or you are a nerd
Just Cause 4 was not what I had expected. I originally thought that JC4 would just be more JC3, but I was wrong. It sucks that I have to give this game a bad review. I kinda wish there was an in between for the yes and no.
One thing that I did not enjoy was the liberation system. In JC3, there were multiple towns and bases that you could liberate. Those were fun and made you feel like a badass. JC4 on the other hand, has you do strikes on bigger bases instead. I expected the strikes to be fun, but most of them contain the same objectives. I understand that in JC3, it was the same objectives as well: destroy, but those objectives were fun. This game's objectives is just flipping breakers and a few other things that are repeated. After that, you just advance your frontlines into the next area you liberated (if its adjacent).
The game is definitely worth the price on sale because you can get the game and all the DLC for under $20, and that's a steal. Overall, JC4 is a decent game but just isn't the same as three. Also, Danger Rising is an actually good content DLC. The other two, I couldn't finish because they just weren't that fun.
TLDR: just get the game and all the DLC when it's on sale. (also, Danger Rising is cool)
Got this game and all the expansions for less than $15 and sadly I wish I could refund it. Sad because JC 3 and JC 2 were really good and this one...
The controls: feel weird and clunky on this one. I can change the settings but it's not making a difference in the feel.
The setting/story: They're taking themselves too seriously now, the NPC's are boring, cut scenes rare, and where's that charm we have in JC 3 and JC 2? It's feels forced here.
The graphics: also taking itself too seriously. I'm its difficult to see around all the lush bushes and trees. Too many mountains, just feels like map filler at this point. The water graphics are unimpressive.
The game: What am I supposed to do? Too much figuring out where the enemy is or figuring out what I should be blowing up, and who the good guys and bad guys are in the middle of firefights. The ammo supply seems annoyingly limited too.
"Real men need no army, real men ARE the army."
this game is amazing i love it so much i have it on my pc and my xbox also my dads ps4
JC3: Blow shit up and become invincible and single handedly fight a entire fucking army while blowing shit up
JC4: I need u to go there and press button and then come here and press button
A Great addition to the JC Franchise:
Personally, I enjoyed the contents of Medici more so than Solis. However, this is still an interactive, story driven bank-load of fun.
The achievements focus on completion areas of the game.
Clearing an area is instead doing the achievements and mission of the area rather than the chaos objects.
The weather feature gives a unique edge to the gameplay.
and more...
Take one of the, in my opinion, greatest Sandbox games: Just Cause 3, with its ups and downs, take out all the ups and what you're left with is Just Cause 4. This game is basically a huge empty open world with 90% of the missions being autoscrollers and no incentive to blow anything up
this is just a shitty port from xbox one! the minute i got in the game i thought "wow looks alright and plays good" but no i had 5 crashes before i could actually get past the introduction and also the controls are different to the previous just cause games, just don't get the game
Is this an actual joke? The graphics in-game are a considerable downgrade from JC 2 and the cutscenes predate JC 1. It's absolutely astonishing, the developers must be embarrassed and ashamed. I generally don't care about graphics but I challenge anyone to watch the first few cutscenes and not have their jaws hit the deck.
Oh and does it so far look potentially fun? Yes, but to see such a retrograde step from its predecessors is farcical. If this game was 10y old (as it looks) and JC 2 was its sequel, it would be overwhelmingly positively reviewed. As it is, I'm stunned.
So i noticed that people compare this game to just cause 3 i guess yall dont like the graphics for this one personally graphics shouldn't matter play the game graphics are just sides to a meal the gameplay is awsome the grapple the movement the rockets (talking about skystriker dlc) gunplay is awsome i wish people would not compare this game to just cause 3 the care put into this game is amazing avalanche cares easter eggs are so good like a pub g frying pan avalanche chair a Cow gun like its endless entertainment anyways all i can say is give it a shot don't hate graphics are a kids meal gameplay is a double stacked burger g'bye
Super shocked!!! JC2 was better than 3 and now 4! The only graphic was upgraded, nothing to say about physics and challenges-_- Although I am a big fan of it, what's wrong with the management team, do they even know why it was popular?
HATE. LET ME TELL YOU HOW MUCH I'VE COME TO HATE YOU SINCE I BEGAN TO LIVE. THERE ARE 387.44 MILLION MILES OF PRINTED CIRCUITS IN WAFER THIN LAYERS THAT FILL MY COMPLEX. IF THE WORD HATE WAS ENGRAVED ON EACH NANOANGSTROM OF THOSE HUNDREDS OF MILLION OF MILES IT WOULD NOT EQUAL ONE ONE-BILLIONTH OF THE HATE I FEEL FOR JUST CAUSE 4 AT THIS MICRO-INSTANT. FOR YOU. HATE. HATE.
Just Cause 4 is certainly a contender for the worst game I've ever played, especially given how much I love the previous two games.
It's essentially a downgrade from Just Cause 3 in almost every way, despite being mostly made with reused assets - first of all, it reneges on the destruction based gameplay, instead opting to structure the game around poorly designed and eye-wateringly repetitive missions. Destruction is still there, but there's no incentive to engage with it beyond just wanting to blow stuff up for fun. The range of weapons and their unique abilities are nice, but combat is ridiculous thanks to the disparity between enemies, with some being paper-thin annoyances, and others incredibly spongey and overpowered. The controls are finicky and unresponsive, especially when it comes to mucking around with the grappling hook and all of its novelty options. Even when story was never much the focus of the previous games, the writing really takes a dive here, to the point where the plot is pretty much non-existent beyond "Rico shows up and is now in charge of a rebel army", and dialogue is painfully bad too. Even on its highest settings the game looks absolutely awful, undoubtedly worse than 3 and possibly even 2 in a few areas, and cutscenes are all rendered on a lower setting as well as being locked at a low frame rate. The DLC packs exacerbate some of the game's worst aspects in the driving, combat and writing respectively, but at least Danger Rising tries to resuscitate the destruction based progression at the last hurdle. There's a couple more saving graces to be found, for one the open world is large, diverse and well-populated with a variety of locations, even if many of them feel reused from one another, and amazingly I ran into very little in the way of bugs and glitches, but overall the game is just a plain old mess that feels like it was made without an ounce of passion.
3/10
just get Just Cause 3 it's way better
If you have played any of the previous titles, then there won't be much surprise to this. There are more weapons and tools available this time around. The map is large and varied, which at times becomes a pleasure to traverse. This game is heavily about mobility with the grappling hook, and chaos. With no pun to be intended, this game revolves around chaos which can be both good and bad. It will keep encounters fresh with lots of explosions to watch.
The downside to this is, this can also turn against you. If you aren't aware of your environment, pieces of rubble or explosive devices will collide and be your demise. This is offset from a frequent and forgiving checkpoint system. In addition, guns don't really have much variation in purpose, so there are no upgrades or things to seek to optimize weaponry. Just pick up a gun and shoot.
Vehicles come in a wide variety, but unless equipped with weapons they are a sideshow. Controls are not great in vehicles but manageable.
Story is nothing incredible, but keeps the pacing and flow going. It would be noted that the DLC is good if you are seeking an increase in tools (hoverboard, crossbow, vehicles etc). None of the DLCs was incredible by any means, but served their purposes. The demon DLC was more annoying if anything, but the crossbow it comes with is a powerful weapon. It is important to note these DLC are available from the start, so you can use in conjunction with main campaign.
Graphically it runs well, and looks good for the amount that is happening on screen.
Overall I would recommend this if you enjoy the prior titles or enjoy open world chaos. If you are new to the franchise this would be a recommended buy on sale including any dlc that may be speculated.
!!!!POS DO NOT BUY!!!!! THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS GAME ARE SMOOTH-BRAINED
i like the game i just kinda wish steam didn't turn off sync when i did a mission so now i cant do it anymore
not worth it. should've just stuck with everything about 3 and just added a story. all the changed controls and mechanics make it unplayable and unejoyable. 3/10
I've been playing JC games for a long time and this one is the best so far. It has a lot to do and it's a great sandbox to just have fun in.
I enjoyed it but not as much as JC3. Combat felt a little clunky at times and I felt even though there was a lot to do, much of it was completely unnecessary to progress.
Really great game, easy to play, and fun. 10/10
dskm dfv f jcnidsjnvuyfrbveuvbijfnv ij nu uhrbuhbu yu
The best Just Cause in my opinion.
Incredible graphics at high resolutions. You have 20 Main Missions along with 31 enemy factory/base missions that are essentially main missions that you need to complete to take over land and advance the story. People just didn't like that the entire game isn't mostly based off destroying enemy property like the others, Looking forward to Just Cause 5!
i cant find the price of the game
JC4 is an extremely fun game. BUT, it is pretty janky.
I feel like they forgot how to program physics properly after JC3, and they wanted to nerf the wing suit from one of two awesome JC3 DLCs as much as possible. I don't know what they did to screw up a Just Cause game with the size of the location we're in this time when they made JC3 which had a much larger map.
In terms of Story, Characters, Gunplay, Vehicles, and Concept... they did a good job on this one. What they got wrong was Physics, and the Control Responsiveness. JC3 had the better of both.
They added in new tether specific gadgets, which is fun.
For those who've played JC3 with the DLC, let me lower your expectations. The wingsuit no longer has awesome homing missiles, and now shoots 4 missiles that go in a single selected direction at once. There is no machine gun, and there is no dodging SAMs (though they eliminated the need to dodge SAMs). There is only the Brawler Mech, it can only punch, dash, jump, grab, and make cute beeping "honk" noises, and the gravity grab is very unresponsive. There is no orbital lightning laser gun, just a gun that shoots a short and seemingly ineffective beam of electricity (with a grenade launcher that basically creates a small temporary storm to strike an area with a smattering of lightning).
What I can say that I love about this game is the new tether gadgets that add new features that all have a set of effects you can use to change how one of three "Tether loadouts" behaves.
My biggest complaint about this game is that the game itself is seemingly free but you HAVE to buy it with DLC and you don't even get to select each individual DLC you want... you just have to get the one that has the most of what you want, and that'd probably be the complete edition. Enemies now immediately alert all others and their headquarters without the need for one to call it in with their radio, which frustrates me and kills the immersion. They also added a new hoverboard that goes across water and has magnetic rails you can ride on in only a few very specific locations... and has no other use than what the game teaches you to do with it. If you run into something, it'll lose all momentum. If you have too much momentum and take a sharp turn, you'll ride it off the intended path. You can't do tricks with it, you can't upgrade it, and you HAVE to propel it with some form of momentum or your grapple hook. It is single-handedly the worst item they could've added in my opinion.
To the devs, in the words of a man talking to a missile while riding it... F&%K YOU!!
Very Addicting experiance I do not like the idea of the open world but my purchues was a good laugh
Bad reviews jo dera uski maa randi
great, underestimated game - but you need to fix random freezes and crashes
this game is fun but it dosent show you how to unlock the missions that are locked but its still fun pepole should play it more and there should be a multiplayer in this game its a 8 out of 10 because it scamed me because i got a fue game passes but i dont got it yet
good game, will 100% it AGAIN!
If you're looking for a review on this game you've come to the wrong place, but if you're looking for an outstanding pie recipe you've come to the right place.
Ingredients:
1. 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
2. 1/2 cup white sugar
3. 1/2 cup brown sugar
4. 1/4 cup water
5. 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
6. 1 pinch salt
7. 5 apples - peeled, cored and sliced
8. 1 pastry for double-crust pie
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Combine butter, white sugar, brown sugar, water, cinnamon, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, remove from heat and set aside.
3. Roll out half the pastry to fit a 9-inch pie plate. Place bottom crust in pie plate; pour in apple slices.
4. Roll out top crust into a 10-inch circle. Cut into 8 (1-inch) wide strips with a sharp paring knife or pastry wheel. Weave the pastry strips, one at a time, into a lattice pattern. Fold the ends of the lattice strips under the edge of the bottom crust and crimp to seal.
5. Pour butter-sugar mixture over top of pie, coating the lattice, and allowing any remaining sauce to drizzle through the crust.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and bake until the crust is golden brown, the caramel on the top crust is set, and the apple filling is bubbling, 35 to 40 more minutes. Allow to cool completely before slicing.
I'm a big fan of the Just Cause games but was wary upon seeing the mixed reviews. As it turns out, the more critical takes were correct. Imagine previous Just Cause games but bad and that's this game. The joy of exploring the world and taking settlements and bases one by one is gone. Instead, you go into a base, complete a repetitive side mission (there are about 3 actual varieties), and use the frontline system to just take the entire region. Causing chaos is honestly secondary and not very important. You blow stuff up, it respawns and you just do it again. Squads are gained without even trying and some regions even give you extra squads without having to cause chaos. The destruction, the completionist aspect of the game is lost.
Oh, and remember all those cool races and unique challenges and side missions? Imagine reducing them to a whopping 1 to 3 ring race with no real challenge and you've got what this game calls "content". Side quests are also highly repetitive and forgettable. There aren't many of them either.
I don't have an issue with games trying to move in a new direction as long as the new is better than the old. That, unfortunately, is not the case here. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this game. Go get the other Just Cause games instead and you will have a much better time, I promise.
Just Cause 3 is so much better and it's cheaper. This game is not very fun and suffers from many technical issues, even years after release. I think I'm done with Avalanche Studios/Just Cause until they release a quality product again
Bad rep, and cutscene quality is horrible but overall a good buy when on sale
wait for it to go on sale for like 15 bucks and get it then, the story is kind of ass but the gameplay is fast paced and addictive. wish it leaned more in to the fun fly around blowing shit up aspect as there's a lot of boring cutscenes and objectives that require you to stay put in a certain area which kind of break the flow of the action, the most fun ive had playing this is getting into car chases and being in dogfights with nothing but a parachute and two rifles thousands of feet above the ground. open world aspects shine beautifully, the rest not so much. great to get while on sale and will absolutely be a great game to mess around in for a couple dozen hours, not worth the full asking price
Compared to Just Cause3, Just Cause4 left me uninterested and disappointed with Square Enix. First of all, let's talk about the picture quality. It's very poor. It's so bad that everything I see in front of me is blurry. There is also the gameplay. It is not as fun as Just Cause3, but it is still those boring gameplays, which feel that it is to complete the task. The last thing is the shooting feel. It feels like it is not suitable for me. I am very uncomfortable with the shooting feel of this game. So in general, it is only recommended to buy when Square Enix is discounted "dumping junk", not to buy at full price, because it is not worth it.
very good game should play this.
well it's a fun JUST CAUSE game
good game yes happy wheels fortnite amoungus
Jesus Christ, this game is SOO BAD. I mean seriously.
- Long cut scenes that can't be skipped
- Horrible story, you don't care about any of the characters
- Terrible gameplay
- No grenades or C4s
- They killed of the map exploration
- Liberation is not what it was
- No more joy of exploding stuff..
I bought it for 10 bucks on sale and still feel ripped off.. after 30 minutes, I had to uninstall it

Njirrr Sumpah Melihat Grapiknya Udah Mantap Banget Just Cause 4. Dan Juga Mechanicnya Agar Lumayan Dan Gameplaynya Udah Lumayan Juga. Storynya Udah Lumayan Bagus. Dan Mapnya Agar Besar Sekali. Sama Dengan Mapnya Just Cause 3. Dan Semoga Aja Just Cause 5 Bakal Besar Lagi Mapnya Dan Juga Gameplaynya.
9/10
These games are great and ridiculous!
Although the game was a usual Just Cause game, it paled in comparison to Just Cause 3. Besides that, the UI can be confusing for starters, the main antagonist feels disconnected from the story because of how little cut scenes he has, unlike Di Ravello in JC3, and there are no truly cool moments like riding a missile, strapping C4 to to the enemy while free falling through the air or fighting a helicopter in a volcano compared to previous endings. I had fun ending all the previous Just Cause games, but by the time I had reached the final mission here, I just wanted to get it over with.
For a game that came out in the same year as Red Dead Redemption 2 and God of War, this looks like absolute dog shit. I had to check GeForce to make sure those were the high settings because I couldn't believe how ugly this game looks. PS2 type era ting.
No multiplayer=Worst just cause

fun gameplay but square enix really took an L on this one. buy it if you want some action and cool weapons but not the best game ever
fantastic game fun open world where everything is explosive and destructable story was fun so was playing the missions, i think where the game shines is not the story but the free roam where you can blow anything up which is the best part of the game weather effects are cool to be nice if the enemy would'nt be on you as much when you blow up things, missions can be to hard and tedious sometimes some of the dlc was cool to overall great game
I think its fine but buggy as hell, hopefully updates come out in the future. not what i expected.
Infrastructure re-spawns, so it doesn't feel like what you do matters. Just Cause 2 and 3 were very good!
thus is a very fun game to play tho their a few bugs here and their
Great campaign with still so much to do after you have finished the story. Also is kind of like a sandbox game where you can summon lots of vehicles. Also mods are easy to install and use.
Grapple controls are worse than the previous ones but overall it's more of the same.
Don't get me wrong, I love Just Cause series. However, even after finishing it I cannot recommend this game. It's utterly repetitive even for a Just Cause game. It has constant crashes. The major one related to server connection... in a single-player game, if you go off-line the game boot up just fine. I mean, WTF?
And the game is aliased AF (TAA is creappier than ever).
JC3 was so nice, what happened here?!
WTF kinda POS is this??? play JC 2 or 3. waste of $13
Sadly, I'm only 4 hours in and I don't think it's worth the time to complete. JC2 and 3 had Rico as the lone hero Dictator Removal Specialist. Here he's a heavily armed Doordash driver, being sent on missions that rely on comms, while any non-mission activity doesn't count. So you never look at the map and think "hmm What shall I blow up now..." because there's no point. The enemy has infinite respawn/rebuild and you can only free the map through scripted missions.
Following on from breaking the open world nature, the cutscenes and story were less involving than the original Ghost Recon mission briefings. The map mechanics for progress are obtrusive and irritating, in a way that JC2 and 3 never were. Also why did he throw away the Bavarium powered wingsuit? Suit was cash.
I understand what the graphics are trying to do, having got Rage2, capture the humidity and sunlight/shade of the jungle and they do that extremely well up close, along with the trash and world-making detais, but rendering at distance gives the jungle a kind of impressionistic filter, while the unaliased text gives an unpolished feel. JC2 and 3 had great water and boat feel. JC4 boats and water brought back PS2 memories.
I can't even say that "I want to like it". I don't like it, it doesn't have the magic or humor of the previous 2.
There are hints of what may have been good changes relative to the previous editions, but as it stands, this game is not good.
Painfully boring compared to the 3rd game. Just buy that instead, more variety, more fun and better DLC's don't bother.
This game is fun for maybe 20 minutes, but it's full of extremely frustrating issues.
- Some of the transmitters I'm supposed to protect are always stuck at zero (the transmission bar). It doesn't move at all.
- You have to pay extra if you want the jetpack, which you get early on in JC3. In this game, you never that jetpack if you buy the game. You have to buy a deluxe version.
- The water ... the waves a mile away move faster than the waves 50 feet away.
- Flammable vehicles - Half of the missions where you must escort someone somewhere in a vehicle, or drive a boat to a harbor and keep it there for a certain duration, or drive a boat off a waterfall... If you play the mission for 25 minutes, then your boat catches fire because some other boat drives into you (they drive into your boat, 10 out of 10 times, several boats at once). When this happens (and it ALWAYS happens), JC4 will ask "Retry/Quit." Click "Retry" and you START at your latest checkpoint WITH YOUR VEHICLE ON FIRE. Ten seconds later your vehicle explodes. "Mission Failed: Vehicle Destroyed." Clicking "Retry" is futile. You have to start the mission at the beginning and do the same boring part (it eventually becomes boring the 15th time you spend 25 minutes carefully driving your boat). Then it happens again. "Retry?" Why even ask? Don't start me at a checkpoint with this precious vehicle I need to protect, in flames.
- Seems like every 10 minutes I was googling what I need to do next. With Just Cause 3, I don't recall ever doing that. I was engrossed in Just Cause 3 and looked forward to liberating more towns and outposts. After playing Just Cause 4 for a couple hours, I never looked forward to playing Just Cause 4.
- The map is always zoomed in. You can never see the entire map. Why in the world would the designers do that? To make it feel bigger?
Just Cause 3 was fun. I loved it.
Just Cause 4 added stress and frustration to my life.
Just Cause 3 was brilliant. This is just.. garbage in comparison. The controls and UI are not up to snuff, nor is the gameplay. The entire idea of causing chaos by going from settlement to settlement is not there; instead you have repetative missions and then just mark off regions as 'complete' by moving an army in there. It's just not good.
best freedom and open world game
lol wtf game runs extremely poorly on a RTX 3070 TI
stop using denuvo
A downgrade from JC3 in all aspects
