Similar to Melty's Quest, as it is made by the same developer, this is a pretty decent lewd RPGMaker game. It is more challenging though, but the content makes up for it.

This game is really a labour of love for the developers. They really incorporated the usual stuff you'd see in an RPG, as well as ton of sexual stuff that caters to different people. It's just a game that doesn't take itself too seriously, even though there's a serious amount of mechanics in it. Try it - you'll love it!

This is, by far, the best game of the entire genre I have ever found. Is it expensive for the genre? Yes. But it's worth every cent.
Normally I wouldn't even joke about calling a game from this genre sophisticated. But this game REALLY is. It makes you think you're doing really well, lulls you into a false sense of security. And before you know it, BANG, your confidence ends up becoming your weakness. Your mastery of rock paper scissors turns out to have been a terrible mistake.
This is also a game that legitimately allows for mechanics that only such a game of this genre could, but does so in an extremely intelligent and sophisticated manner. Stuff like allowing your enemy to be turned on by you, just so that at a critical moment you can weaponize his arousal by delivering a 1 hit KO straight to his manhood
As for what people play this genre for, it's definitely the hardest to get content out of of anything in the genre. However, when that damn bursts, its probably the most intense experience of the genre.

You have to truly ponder what decisions you have made along the way that brought you to the place of your final reckoning.

It is still unclear, even to me, even to God perhaps, why I purchased Karryn's Prison.
There isn't anything wrong with it, as an RPG-lite with interwoven hentai battle scenes throughout it's perfectly stellar. But when you look at it as a choice, you realize just how flawed you and the rest of humanity is.

What drove me to purchase such a game? What part of my soul felt so empty that I thought an anime girl could fill it?
When I look into the boundless depths of my own loneliness I see a pool of reflection. My face isn't there, there is no face. There are only tears in that pool, tears of shame and loss and confusion.

If it were up to me again I know I would purchase it in a heartbeat, I know I would load it up and grind through the countless battles all so I can have a single morsel of pornographic images which are readily available online.
Yet, despite the abundance of naked anime women waiting in the digital sphere, I still chose to purchase this game and devote hours of my life to it. That time will never return to me, it is lost just like my soul and just like the time I fear I may never find it again.

This, as many other reviews suggest, is actually a pretty good game. The battles are fun, though if you do go the sex route, it can be a bit grind-y. That's not horrible though, as there's enough variation on that side to keep things interesting for quite some time. I would suggest though, for anyone playing a sex build, to ensure you read all the perks, as you need to build your character in a specific way to get good at it.

The story and characters are a bit cartoon-y, but that seems like it was by design and overall it's interesting enough to keep one engaged. It would have been nice to have a bit more choice as to how the story does progress, though.

The "management" side of the prison is a bit simple, but there are ample choices through the edict system. There are also a few side jobs Karryn can, umm, engage in. These can sometimes prove tedious, but overall they are a decent distraction from the story and combat side of things and can help you obtain much needed resources.

So, in summary, this is a pretty good game, that absolutely stands out from the generally otherwise bland crowd of h-games. I'd recommend anyone at all interested in the genre pick it up, even at full price.

That pretty much sums up this game. This game is HARD. If you're the type of person who wants to win, this game will be a challenge. You have to balance out a lot of things as you progress within the fort while keeping yourself on edge because Karryn's passives will make her being susceptible to being violated.

But this game pretty much caters more for those who WANT to lose. If you lose in a fight because you have no more energy and stamina, you get dragged some place for the "defeat" sequence to play with.

10/10 worth buying at full price. For a game developed by only 2 guys who love eroge, they created a revolutionary game that will surely influence the future eroge just like Huniepop did before.

Getting the pure playthrough is very difficult, even on the easiest mode (secretary). Trying to get it on Warden or Prisoner mode is absolute insanity.

One of the things that makes KP probably the best H game ever made is the way the game systems interact.

Unlike other games you cannot just let go and get to the sweet sweet H scenes. If you do, you risk losing control of the prison, of Karryn, etc. When you play KP, it feels as though there are many different forces tugging on each other: The sexual desires of the prisoners, their anger; the sexual desires of Karryn, her need to take control of the prison, the guards' corruption, order, etc. Even when the combat turns into a sexual one rather than a physical one, there is the factor of who is in control of the situation, and how long Karryn can hold onto her senses. In other words, whereas "corruption" is just a fetish fated to be fulfilled in other games, in KP, it is an interactive, dynamic element that is intertwined with other factors that you need to watch out for. Are you going for a highly sexual and endurance-based build? Are you trying to physically overpower your opponents and only let go when you know you are in control? Is Karryn's mind sound enough to not go crazy at a couple sexual advancements? etc. etc.

Other games feel like a visual novel, a porn flick, or any other passive, linear medium with a couple game mechanics slapped on top. KP instead fully feels alive. And holy shit is it immersive & sexy af as a result.

Sexual acts are integrated into combat in a not so simple way, since there is multiple resources like stamina, energy, pleasure etc.

After 13 Hours of gameplay of this incredible game, i must say, it of course has its strengths and weaknesses.
The Strengths:

Actual Gameplay - Not only is a prison simulator, you can "Actively" help out too! Just help out the poor bar keeper!
Immersive Story - At first it seems boring, of course there are some up's and downs like the beta pre-prisondirector but
i think Karren does a great job at trying her best to fulfill the desires of the prison. Even the 20km away

Well i will describe this game as dark souls porn so if you are into getting your starfish pushed in by difficult games then this is your game i got to the third area then gave up because of riots and other garbage that was getting on my nerves. because if it was me i would just kill all inmates as i went thru the dog that bites is a dead dog and if i got too much resistance from area in real life i would just seal it cut the water and food off and maybe pump smoke in to weaken them to a near death or death state and steam roll on thru. But for those that are looking for a casual game this isn't there is no really way to replay the scenes you have seen without replaying the EXACT SAME BS. I knew most of these things when i got this game and said hopefully as time goes by they will change things like creep back of the difficulty add a replay scene but months have passed to no avail so I guess I will just keep letting time pass watching the dislikes rise because most people don't like very aggravating games. the 8 bit stuff was cool the game play was okay like most games like this but dang does it suck how hard things can get and the jobs if i say no and someone would try to rape me i would just stab them in the eye with a pin or in the throat with a broken bottle just saying we all have a choice be prey or predators in sheep's clothing.

The combat system is primitive and boring

After playing Meltys Quest, I was kind of disappointed that the developer hadn't done anything else. It was so much more high quality than any other erotic game I had ever played, with only classic games like Knights of Xentar even coming close. Naturally, when I heard about Karryn's Prison, I immediately got interested.

It's really shocking how incredible this game really is. Where Meltys Quest set a standard of how fun erotic games could be, Karryn's Prison leaves Meltys in the dust. The central idea of mixing the eroticism in with the actual gameplay and combat works very well and creates a slow burn that doesn't really go out hours into the game. You may not get your first really explicit scene for your first hour or two, but it will come.

The core concepts in the game are relatively simple. Combat is divided into sexual actions (which Karryn, as a virgin, knows nothing about to start and must learn through experience) and attacks. Combat is further broken down into a rock-paper-scissors mechanic, similar to Fire Emblem's weapon system, which requires juggling of cooldowns. Additionally, Karryn will have desires filling up, which have to be suppressed to close off attack options from the inmates. Let her butt desire get too high and prisoners will start groping or smacking it, inflicting stamina damage on Karryn and raising her butt desire further. If it gets too high... I'm sure you can guess. Early on, Karryn's desires cannot get high enough to allow for too much, but as she spends time in the prison, surrounded by the inmates, the ceilings grow higher. I found it a lot of fun to try to keep Karryn's virginity for as long as possible, fighting against her desires spiraling out of control. In the event you lose the fight, Karryn can still resist advances, suppress desires and limit the damage to her virtue.

Complicating matter is managing the prison itself. The system is simplistic, but offers a ton of options. Income has to be balanced against expenses. Repairing areas after riots and buying new facilities can be expensive, as can using the money to upgrade Karryn to make her more capable. There are three side jobs that open up that can help bring in more money and help keep the prison population under control, but at the expense of fatigue (the main limiting factor to gameplay) and exposing Karryn to hedonistic risk. Periodically, levels riot and Karryn has to suppress those riots.

It's worth mentioning the quality and frequency of erotic material in this game. There's an enormous amount, and the quality is top notch. Not only are there erotic poses for Karryn and every type of inmate, there's a separate version for each type of erotic attack and variations for some depending on who is dominant. There's variations depending on how much of her clothes are missing, volume and location of fluid on her, mechanical toys, etc. There are also overlay animations for individual attacks. That's during battle. There's a separate CG style cutscene when Karryn loses, which maintains the fluid accumulation and has the same animations. The assailant's are also represented appropriately in the CG scene. If there's a slime in the room, it'll look like it.

I did play an earlier build of the game without voice acting. I will say that the VA in this game did a fantastic job with Karryn at every state of the game and represents her extremely well. An incredible addition to the game. Music selection and sound effects are very well used, though I do recognize some of them from the RPG Maker library.

A couple of cautionary notes. First off, the game is very difficulty at times. As I have mentioned, Fatigue is your main limiting factor, as Karryn completely heals and recovers Willpower and Energy after every fight. As she fatigues, though, her stats go down. At 30% fatigue, all of her stats decrease by 10%. The way to recover fatigue is by resting. When you rest, all of the enemies repopulate in areas you have cleared. This is fine, as you can get experience from them again. Except that Karryn has a level cap per floor, and even at the cap for that floor, the inmates are still incredibly dangerous. There is a guard station you can rest at on every floor, but there's a risk of room invasion, where Karryn has to fight off the attackers unarmed and unclothed. In most cases, the battle is unwinnable and Karryn will get dragged off to the floor's fail-state. The bosses at the end of a floor are ridiculously difficult and require you to really understand the game to stand any chance against them. Even then, expect to fail out a couple of times from bad luck, like missing an attack at a critical moment, or a lucky critical hit knocks your stamina bar to zero. They're winnable, but require some persistence, and avoiding most of the bad guys in rooms leading up to the fight to help maintain your fatigue.

A second point: If you're looking for a game with some quick eroticism, this won't give it to you. At least not at first. I tried to deliberately dive into corruption from the get go and the first floor of the game really doesn't work well for that. As Karryn's desires start with pretty low desire maximums at the beginning, she's going to have to grind for a while to get them up to the point where anything really serious can happen. By the time you hit the second floor, however, having the waitress side job open and the far less forgiving fail-room means that you're going to have to actively protect yourself from things getting serious very quickly. Your desire maximums will shoot up very quickly, and as you unlock more passives, your starting desire for a fight will rise.

The story oscillates between goofy and serious, and the tonal shifts can be kind of odd. In general, Karryn is a much less likable person than Meltys is, but I get the feeling this is by design. The dialogue has a lot of anime and manga tropes in them, and has a very manga-esque pacing to its humor that always felt a bit off to me. I would have liked to have seen the guards to be less abstracted and for there to be some way to use them to help you suppress anarchic levels or riots. The tutorial is easy enough to grasp, but the actual information about the mechanics is a big challenging to parse out, especially before you've fought a few battles. The information is presented in a sort of Final Fantasy VI fashion, with a couple of rooms of people who talk about the game mechanics. As a final piece of criticism (and a very minor complaint) I think I would have liked to have seen Karryn go down a few cup sizes.

Karryn's Prison is a masterfully done game about corruption. I have no problem calling the game the gold standard for erotic games, with a masterfully blended gameplay systems that integrates the erotic elements. The interface and control of the game is made by someone who completely understands the tools at their disposal and how their game will be played. Every hour of the game is more interesting than the last as you strategize and set goals. If you're looking for a 30 minute game to play before bed, this might not be the right choice. If you have a few hours to dedicate to an erotic game, choose this one.

This game is the reason I should (horny) prison, and I accept that.

Karryn's Prison is about an ambitious yet arrogant lady who has been trying so hard to marry up that she ends up taking a job at a poorly managed prison just to save and preserve her face in front of her future trophy husband. Given her hypergamous motivation, it should be no surprise that all elements of this game -- the mechanics, the writing, etc. -- are strongly united under the theme of leadership and corruption. Even the game's UI has stats called 'order' and 'control', both of which heavily influence on your entire gameplay and determines which ending you get. It is not as hard-boiled and serious as Prison Break, of course. But try adding Japanese anime aesthetics for character design and mature contents writing, then you will have a close enough idea of what this game is going to be like.

What especially grabbed my attention in this game are the game mechanics and what I'd call as character demographics. There is a section in the UI called 'Passives' that stores all the passive modifiers you acquire in your playthrough. What's remarkable about this section is that you can't possibly keep track of what modifiers you get: they are just too many. In my run, I had about 300 modifiers and was still acquiring new ones. These modifiers impact on not only the combat, but also Karryn's reactions to new situations, allowing users to observe changes in her character over time. This mechanics helps users to intuitively understand the way Karryn is changing, while also giving users opportunities to look up what modifier made her change: Excellent system for immersive experience.

When it comes to characters, first and foremost, their personality types are divided into demographic groups. For example, Karryn and her future trophy husband -- the Emperor -- are extremely naive and susceptible to manipulation despite their high social standings. The Emperor is especially so, given that he practically sent his future wife to a place never short of troubles and violence without a proper staff to support her. Later in the game, he reveals that he did it because he wanted her to learn how to treat people fairly regardless of social standings, but out of all possible choices, he chose criminals to teach her that lesson.

Karryn, on the other hand, is too prideful and most likely to have a superiority complex. Even though she is obsessed with outwardly visible achievements, she shows little to no concern towards her own control over her situations. So she constantly yields to someone else's ideas if they cast slightest hint of doubt onto her superiority. This is why I could not get fully convinced by the narrative that she is a competent lady. Yes, she is a strong woman who can easily defeat hundreds of men on her own, but she is too easy to manipulate to a fault. She has looked more like a soldier material than a leader material to me.

In contrast with those two above, the prisoners of Fort Ganon are portrayed as too innocent and too mischievous. Even in sex scenes, they are surprisingly gentle and do not use any unnecessary violence to assert dominance. I'd say they are more like mischievous boys shoved into a single dormitory for detention. Even the troubles they cause are pretty minor, if you consider severity of real-life crimes. There is one single inmate that has some grandiose plan to cause disastrous trouble on a national scale, but even his sinister-sounding plan is nothing more than a delusion at its best. I can see why the devs did this though. These are common personality types in Japanese anime aesthetics: a gangster guy who is actually very friendly to a fault, and a schemer guy who is practically delusional. It might have been an inevitable choice to create an adult game about prisoners that is actually enjoyable and entertaining. But this design choice for character personalities definitely jeopardized the immersion I was getting from the game mechanics.

Connecting those two groups of people is the prison staff, which is practically Yasu alone. Yasu is an interesting character. He makes a sharp contrast with Karryn in that despite being constantly rebuked as useless and incompetent, Yasu is actually critically influential in the plot whereas Karryn has little to no influence despite being constantly promoted as reliable and competent. I'd even say he is responsible for running the whole show, so that the naive elites and the innocent criminals can get spotlights. It's a shame that people like Yasu are not easily recognized even in real life.

Overall, this game is an interesting hybrid between prison politics and Japanese anime aesthetics. All the design elements are working in unison to support the combination. Although the combination itself has some inevitable and unresolvable flaws, I'm impressed by the sheer craftsmanship invested to design a system to support the theme. It's unbelievable how it took no more than two people to create this. For Japanese anime fans, this game will provide interesting and refreshing experience with its unique premise. For people worn out by real life interpersonal politics, this game will be a delightful and entertaining experience with its absurdly light-hearted take on the politics. I recommend this game with full confidence.

This is a fun Japanese style eroge game with an element of RPG combat, which is actually quite good and a strategy management layer that is important to master. There are several modes of play, including challenge runs and dozens and dozens of unlockable bonuses that carry over to a new game plus so it ends up having that Rogue-lite feeling.

To put it bluntly - this is probably the best adult/hentai game that I have played and a sequel would be an automatic purchase for me.

The only warning I would give to new players is that the default difficulty is actually quite hard if you don't understand the game mechanics yet or haven't completed previous runs, so I recommend everyone start off on the easiest difficulty "Secretary" and gain some experience and title carry overs to a NG+

RPG maker games are always bad but this one is actually a pretty good game.

Great smut, great ideas on how to present said smut, and the gameplay systems are pretty well thought out.

For a game, I'd rank it pretty high. But I'd have to deduct some points as there are some unlocks within the game system that are just meaningless even on the hardest difficulty. Things like the kitchen and insurance edicts.

I blocked all my friends just to play this game, so you know it's a good game.

This game is not easy but it rewards defeat in a way. Progress is dependent on understanding the mechanics and selectively engaging in them as well as sinking time into it. The game tracks stats and unlocks tiers depending on how much of an action you do, this can be both good and bad for Karryn and keeps things interesting. This game has a lot of variety in terms of gameplay and discovery.

The VA work is amazing for both ENG and JP, really surprising that I prefer the english voice acting.

I would call this game the left for dead variant of a porn game. I find it sad that most "modern" games can't bother themselves with dedication like the people who made Karryn's Prison. With a new gym event on the way after release, all i want any more in games is a caring attitude like in this game and deep rock galactic, and corruption of champions 2. Porn game or not i want dedicated developers to make good games again.

After reading the plot (which could be from a porn movie) I was expecting the game to be just mindless T & A. But the demo really sells this game. I played it for 100 hours before buying and found that a lot of thought went into this game's design. First of all the "help files" are organized into short segments you can access by talking to N.P.C.'s. You can ignore them if you've seen similar game concepts, or go back to them when you have that W.T.F. situation. Most players will recognize the "Edicts" in the game as a system of resource management from strategy games. And the game play itself starts out looking like a hack and slash dungeon adventure. (so much like one that I was looking for gold coins to pick up in every room) But instead of collecting stuff, you collect "passives" which are life experiences for the player's charactor. Some are good and some are bad, frequently you can't tell the difference and just have to roll with the punches. (kinda like real life) So is this really an adult game? (you're probably wondering) Yes, it very much is. Just don't expect it start up and go at it like in the porn movie you might think this game is. For once the charactor's virginity is actually important to the game play. Because Virgin Karryn starts out with all the sex skills and abilities you would expect from a virgin ... that is basically no ability at all. You start out trying to fight for control of the prison, and how well you will succeed at that depends on the difficulty level you chose (3 levels) and the choices you made setting up your charactor. (64 combinations, and they will make a difference) If or when you lose fighting (you might be tempted to lose on purpose) you end up having to conquer the prison with sex. After losing that first fight, you'll see that's not as easy as you think. Your virgin, Karryn, will need a crash course in Sex Education. And she's got plenty of would-be instructors ready to teach it to her the hard way. (pun intended) So you have to use your resource management skills to decide what abilities she needs to develop to win. Chose between fighting and sex skills, as well as financial management of the prison itself to maintain order. And you're not necessarily stuck with the initial path, if you're losing effectiveness at fighting, you can switch over to sex if it's not too late. Also keep an eye on the order level, dropping to zero order means failure and disgrace for the once over-achieving and super hot Karryn. She's in for the challenge of her life.

People will tell you that this is the Dark Souls of HRPGs. It is not a joke. This game will beat you again and again with no help. There are only a handful of guides out there that will point you in a direction when you start, but there is no handholding here. (The subreddit's down, so forget about asking for help.)

There are many hours of gameplay available between the open epilogue gameplay (assuming you get the correct ending) and the New Game+ option (only wish there were more reset options instead of all or nothing).

The minigames can be a fun distraction, as well as the various passive ability and title unlocks.

That all being said, depending on your approach to the game, the passive abilities can be either a plus or negative, as each of them weakens Karryn's physical combat effectiveness. This can be offset if you build her like a succubus, but if that's not your thing, then that will become a frustrating point for you.

All in all though, despite any flaws, this is probably one of the best eroge games on Steam right now and I highly recommend it. Just set your goal out to make Karryn the succubus warden of the prison and you should have a lot of fun.

As for the game itself, this is a VERY hard game where you need to understand the mechanics to be able to play it effectively. Some things need to be mentioned about this game immediately that you should know

1. You're gonna die, it's okay
2. Focus on learning the game and its mechanics first and what things actually do
3. Murder all the ugly b******s
4. Yes, yes there is rape in this game by the definition of rape. Saying that "she starts to like it" does not make it not rape.
5. The graphics are good
6. You're not going to start out as a sex slave
7. Don't rush down the levels spend time maxing out your character in whatever stats you want through battle first
8. Use specific attacks to level specific stats ie,use more blunt attacks = more strength = more damage etc.
9. Keep your order low but not so low you'll lose during a riot, you get more funds this way for upgrades and the like
10. If you want to survive, upgrade your outfit so it's not stripped off as easily, and don't give them the secrets to what turns you on, it's a bad idea unless you're trying to make a slut.
11. The more battles she fights, the more she will become a slut, if you are trying to stay clean fight less battles, upgrade your outfit to be more durable and upgrade your strength or you will do no damage.

The only H game to incorporate gameplay mechanics into the H to this level. The gameplay is probably one of the best turn based combat systems I have every played and I hate turn based combat. Enemies react to the way you react to them leading to a very dynamic tactical battle arena where if you do poorly you get boned. Not only that but that's not necessarily a bad thing as boning is potentially the best way to beat others in combat.

This will be the most complicated review I'll ever write...

Is the game good? Absolutely. But it is also the most frustrating game I have ever seen... Everything is rigged against you, everything, every single mechanic, every single word, every single fight, everything, just everything.

You see, you are not meant to win in this game, at all. And I mean AT ALL! There are but one or two ways to actually win, and they are so hard and frustrating that it's a no brainer why barely anyone have some achievements, because they were made to be borderline impossible. To get them you need to grind for a looong time, use ver specific strategies, restart a million times over and still relly on a bunch of luck.

Game itself spills it out: everything is made to be frustratingly hard, so that you'll lose over and over again, main objective of this is to make Karryn descend into sluttyness, but the main drawback is that it makes the game absurdly easy to softlock, forcing you to start from scratch over and over again.

I don't mind losing battles, I don't mind that is hard as heck to get the "other" ending, but I do mind that I can softlock the game more often than not, since this ruins the fun, it's like playing Dark Souls, but if you die too much your save file is deleted. It's the ultimate ironman game, you either go perfect or you don't go at all.

But, is there any saving grace?
MC is cute, seeing her fall from pride is fun, scenes are fun, story is cute (yes, I mean it) despite everything, but that's it.
Frustration, softlocking and losing battles, that's all there is to it.
And no, you can't even cheat, there are a million things in place to prevent number editing, the RPG Maker cheat plugin does not work, save editing does not work, cheat engine does not work, and the in-game "cheats" are made for those who want to lose faster, and they won't help you get out of softlocking yourself.

Final verdict: softlock simulator 2022, 8/10.
Buy this ONLY if you want really damn bad to see the MC get sodomized, otherwise just move on, it takes more than 2 hours to softlock the game for the first time, so it gives the impression that you are doing something when you are actually just cruising along to a brick wall, if I knew this from the start I wouldn't have kept it, it's just too frustrating.

Karryn's Prison is one of the best nsfw games on steam. I tend to stay away from RPGmaker games as many of them end up being repetitive and low effort. This game is an exception to this genre. The combat in the game actually feels fresh and fun, giving you the option to train three different types of attacks each with its own strengths (like rock-paper-scissors). Additionally, you can choose to navigate combat by seduction instead. The nsfw scenes have incredible art, there's an impressive amount of scenes, and amazing voice acting on top of it all. My only complaint would be the minigames, as this is the one area of the game that quickly becomes repetitive (and with some builds, impossible to play). The game is also sometimes quite punishing, so I recommend starting with the easiest difficulty. It's not a cheap game, but you certainly get a lot for $30 and this is one of the few nsfw games that I think is worth anywhere near this price.

I hate myself for supporting this game. It's an H game, you'll like it or you don't, I got into it like how got into Fallout 4, Fire Emblem Three House, Moonlighter... Its RPG, Action or Turn-Based, mechanics and Management Sim. I got the Empress ending and I'm happy for that ending, but to get into the meat of the game, the business element, I had to do things I am so ashamed of......

Story.
You play as the Princes "unicorn" secretary/Wiafu, Karryn(not Karen as in Care-ren, but Karryn as in Kai-Ron or Kai-Rin) a Unicorn as she is extremely beautiful, highly accomplish, smart, pretty determine, and was born with, mythical, legendary natural cup size "K". The premise is simple, after some inept asshole lets the countries high level prison, Fort Ganon, fall, you take it upon yourself to prove to the man of your dreams, (or to have access to a literal storage of whatever your mind desires) that you can get control and turn fort Ganon around. Simple right? Wrong!

What I love the most, Mechanics.
The game is a Turn based game, you can level up your stats through combat. The combat is simple but has an twist not seen in all RPGs. You'll have to manage your stamina, energy, will power, and pleasure meter. Every attack you deal or receive will take an amount stamina. Defending and healing will take energy. Finally will power will allow you to regain energy, enhance your fighting capabilities, and manage the amount of pleasure in your system. Fighting will increase your stats, but if you want newer, and better skills, you have to invest into very mechanic I enjoy of this game. By going to your desk, your enter the management part of the game. The game revolves around the management system, and you can't just purchase everything, your limited by Edicts, which are refilled everyday, and are needed to progress further into the game. Edicts can be used to improve the prison, the stores in the prison, the prisoners living conditions, purchasing accessory to improve Karryn herself, buying combat skills, upgrading your stats to new levels, improving side jobs, finally improving your financial, subsidiaries(the level of sub-money received based on the level of order of the prisoner) and overall environment of the prison. All of this affects Karryn, and by extension the player's experience in the prison. You can fight via combat, possessing a badass halberd, or using.... sex. SEXual abilities are gained the number of times you experience a fetish and eventually accomplish (what the hell am I doing with my life) what no other game in this genre has never done, weaponizing sex. With sex you can end battles after gaining a level of slut in your slut meter. However the slut meter affects the ending.

Speaking of which, how to win or lose the game. To lose, simply become lazy, do nothing, sleep in all day, or fail to keep the prison order level over 0, and you lose the game, becoming a disappointment. However, if you manage to subjugate all floors, defeating the final boss, you can now get to endings. Good is basically an NTR ending where you cuck the prince and choose a prison full penises over a throne. Than there's the Empress ending. by limiting or having very little to no slut levels, You get to become queen, marrying the prince, and you get your Kingdom people, your adoring fans, and the royal family, accepting you as their future Queen, becoming the Empress..... basically the best ending in this goddam game.

This game is sex focus, and with the passive mode, you cannot develop resistance or an combat focus, empress run because you don't develop skills to focus on management, Halberd and melee. Passives only enhance sex. So yeah. Even the side quest require you to use sex so yeah, if you have an issue than I wouldn't recommend this or any H game.

in conclusion:
I hate myself for supporting and buying this game, yet its RPG and Management mechanics won me over. And for that, Karryn's prison, Rem and the team, gets my vote.

This game saved my life.

I am 43.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiralling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide.

After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side.

Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay.

After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as.

Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends.

I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together.

Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Well... I finally beat it.... in general, I recommend the game, though I do think it's a bit too pricey for what you're getting. Keep in mind, there isn't a huge amount of differentiating sex content, you will for the most part be doing the same sex senses over and over again, however what it lacks in art variety it makes up for in gameplay, character development and timing. This game is a true labor or love.

The build up to the first time Karryn has sex is amazingly well done. There is a strange dynamic where you are actively trying to avoid sex and maintain your virginity, but stuff happens. I wouldn't call it a rape game per say, the prisoners are all ~kinda~ gentlemen and won't do anything until Karryn gives them the OK. This makes the game way hotter because it's all about Karryn giving into her desires and awakening her inner slut. You need to do everything you can to fight against your inner slut because this will end up giving you debuffs that will make the game harder and harder to beat. This can be hard for both Karryn and the player and it's pretty much impossible on the normal difficulty to stay pure. However this dynamic makes Karryn's Prison tease you in ways I didn't know a game could tease you in and other game developers of these types of games should take note.

The gameplay is on par with some of the best RPGs of the 90s, it's insanely addictive and complex. You essentially have two phases, the fighting phase where you try and win the battle by fighting like any normal turn based RPG, but then when you lose that part of the battle, you go into Phase 2 where you try to fuck your way to a victory by avoiding total exhaustion. As long as you don't pass out from constant orgasms, you win.

Finally the story is enjoyable, and Karryn has quickly acceded to the top tear list on my Wifu charts as she is just so damn sexy. It has a nice moral to the story that goes something like "Be a Slut" because prudes never have any fun!

I would defiantly get the next game in the series whenever it comes out, preferably in 3D, but even if it stays 2D it would still get it.

If you're looking for an H game that's actually kind of difficult and provides some pretty great art, I would highly recommend Karryn's Prison. The game is a turn-based RPG that's combined with some sort of management sim? As seen in the screenshots, Karryn has some great assets, but a lot of her dialogue is a bit...much to say the least and I sure hope the voice actress got paid handsomely for some of the pure cringe that our protagonist says. 11/10

Game is notably fun and has loads of NSFW scenes. However, there is an alarming amount of repetition in it. I made the mistake of playing the waitress mini game, and I was stuck there for 25 minutes having to press buttons to get out of it. I tried Alt F4-ing, but the game autosaved before. The battles are all pretty much the exact same thing with varying enemies. Your rotation of moves used is almost identical in all fights. I'm playing on "secretary" difficulty, with the intent of learning the game's mechanics and then going to hardest mode, as difficulty cannot be changed once started. There are difficulty spikes between fights, and there's no amount of "skill" that can help you outplay your opponents, as it's all button clicking, turn based combat. I'm not garbage at video games by any means, so don't take this review as me whining about difficulty.

tl;dr: buy if you want a decent nsfw game, but be wary of the extreme amount of repetition throughout the entirety of it and random spikes of difficult enemies.

My favorite H-game ever. The RPG systems work together so well to make it feel like a corruption simulation rather than clicking through a scenario like usual. And the side jobs give a lot of freedom, making it really fun when the voice lines change depending how you approached the game.

Most importantly the game is very fappable since Karryn is sexy and there are so many cut-ins and variations. It feels very lively and dynamic even replaying the same scenes. (VNs are kinda dead for me now.)

CRITICISM: If you do everything to win, the game feels quite grindy. I wish the time limits were a lot shorter or harsher fatigue penalty, while keeping the challenge the same. The decisions are fun. Also note that if you change text to Japanese, there is a censor.

RAMBLINGS: While the game is not lacking in dicks, I wish there were more size variation, maybe with stats, sph, comparison, voiced size reaction, a separate deepthroat level requiring the biggest dicks to progress, especially considering the game already has gloryhole, cock stare, and rare enemy types. This has to be my favourite H-game of all time. Seriously. Karryn drove me insane. My brain pretty much melted into a puddle of horny goop, and I lost track of what's happening in the real world. I've played my fair share of H-Games on and off steam, and none of them get close to Karryn's Prison.

This game made me reach a level of horny that I never thought possible. So much so, that I shot more pre-cvm in one go than I have for the past 4 months combined. I'm sorry if this review traumatized you in any way. I just really felt the need to express how much I love this game. Maybe if you play it you'll forget what you saw here ;)

Fun combat system, interesting risk vs reward skill tree... overall a solid H-game. From what I can tell, there are few (if any) traditional h-scenes, but a very interesting system for including h-content in combat situations. I'm not usually a fan of "use x to get more x stat points," but it works for the most part here. Heavy in corruption and humiliation if you're into that.

High-quality game. Very polished.

I actually cannot believe how good this game is. It takes some getting used to, but there is more here to enjoy than one would reasonably suspect. Give it a go, you won't be disappointed.

I play multiple hentai games, but this one is one of the best. The game play can be challenging but if you understand the game and how to play, it gets easier. If you are just playing for the hentai, then its just choose the secretary mode and keep your order up and enjoy.

Great game for mid to long term play as you have to plan ahead how to invest your money and points to upgrade the facility. Karryn also wont be a slut right away and you must slowly break her (or just keep losing and get drunk/suck dick if you want) which means you get to see her slowly coming around to the idea of having sexual relations with the prison inhabitant (and visitors)

Overall great game and i have spent alot of time trying to collect all the titles :)

This game has made me question the path I have chosen in life, 10/10 would feel immense shame again.

Let me start off by saying I hate RPG maker games. I fee like they have low production value because of the lack of cuts scenes. Even sega cd had cut scenes so I guess RPG maker lacks the power to truly make good games. I saw this game and I thought the graphics look good. This game has kicked my ass for almost 90 hours. Not your average RPG, every battle requires thought and tactics but the game does tell you it's built for you to fail. I would call this game the dark souls of RPG's. You see Karryn and you think at first, I want to keep her pure so I focused on just beating ass. Well i failed horribly and she became a whore. You have to make so many strategic choices. I think I am on my 5th play through on the 4th one I was like make a whore every chance I get it's going to happen anway, and I got further. I resorted to easy mode and there aren't as many strategic choices but it is boring compared to normal. You can't auto pilot this RPG like other RPG's. One mistake and Karryn is literally fucked!!!

It's a bit hard for the first time player, but after you learn the game mechanic this is very good, fun to play.

I want to preface what I'm going to say by letting you know I've yet to beat the game because I'm really bad at it.

TL;DR Try the demo, the gameplay is actually pretty darn good

That said, I think this is one of the better RPG experiences I've ever had. As nice as it is to see some H-scenes and such, I generally like to try to get through these games without experiencing them before going back and trying to view all of them- this game does not really give you that choice though. In combat, the enemies will do all manner of things that will in turn, make your character more and more difficult to manage their lust levels. I love the combat in this game because it becomes extremely challenging to manage both yourself and the enemies in the midst of the fights. Along with that, this is probably one of the very few times that I REALLY don't want to lose in my battles but, if you suck at these games like me, it's an inevitability.

The H-scenes are really nice imo because in comparison to many other H-Games, there are different scenes for the different places that you lose in as well as depending on who you're losing to and the same goes for the mid-battle cut-ins.
....Of course most of those cut-ins are penises but, I still appreciate the efforts that were taken to animate all these different cut-ins.

The thing about this game that makes it shine for me is that it has little hidden dynamics to what you do. How you decide to handle the prison will subtly influence the kind of enemies you will go up against. For example, selling your personal info will net you a small pay sum but, your enemies will study that info and will attack you with whatever weaknesses Karryn has accumulated in all of her time spent subjugating the prison. There are these tiny details that really bring this game to life for me as well. Like when you first unlock the bartending job, Karryn is very reluctant to do this job as it has little to do with her main mission. But a couple more days doing that job and you'll notice Karryn's demeanor change from "Why the hell am I doing this" to "Whelp, time for another shift" (paraphrasing, of course). These tiny details are everywhere and mean a lot to me as they tend to show that the dev wasn't just focused on making an image gallery with extra steps; it is very plainly clear to me that they are wanting to actually make a game and I believe they have succeeded in doing so. I've only been able to unlock the game over ending so maybe once I beat the game, I'll give a more coherent review but even with what I've experienced this far, I am actually very impressed.

This game is as hard as I am while playing it, and beats my in game ass as I vibe my IRL ass with my plug, truly a one of a kind fusion between sexual content and genuinely great deep gameplay, this game is unironically a masterpiece in terms of how well it melds the two aspects of it, sex and gameplay become one and the same, perfect for those that want genuine depth to their adult content and are sick of the typical crappy minigames or sex being locked to either failing or a seperate gallery like the two of which the majority of AO games.
This game is exceptional in terms of it's deep and complex mechanics and genuinely tatical stratergies and learning to live with and attempt to minimize failure.

This is not only a contender for the best Lewd/Porn game ever, but a fantastic RPG in it's own right and better unironically designed than a large portion of actual big name SFW AAA titles in the genre. An absolute must own for any fan of lewd/AO Gaming. The fact that this was made in RPGMaker is astounding, they truly got creative with how they used it's engine.

NGL, this game is far more fun than it has any right to be. the sexyness has become secondary at this point and this is a pretty nice 'sit back and chill' game with some decently simple extra systems..

This is easily the best hentai game I've ever played and was worth every cent. An actually fun game with multiple viable playstyles that avoids most of the design mistakes that 90% of hentai games/eroges typically fall into. It helps that Karryn is ridiculously hot and her voice acting is 10/10 :)

Very much an adult game for players who want to see a hot woman kick ass and get her ass kick if the player wants to. It's no slouch on the rpg aspect, it's as confident as any other rpg there is and add additional challenge by managing both your character's stats, skill trees, and the prison you control. For anyone who's into adult or 18+ games, this one is both very fun, hot, and enjoyable with the easy secretary mode being more difficult it sounds and will gradually get harder as you progress into the warden and prisoner modes.

This is the same level as Sengoku Rance for me. If you like eroge games, this is a must buy.

Save my PP, I wake up at 4pm, and play this game until 6 in the morning, help... and suffered from to get wholesome ending, I chose Wanton Slut and Sensitive Whole Body. Against Karryn's fate. That was a bad choice. Really bad choice. The worst thing I can choose. Even in the Normal difficulty it was still a nightmare... 10 playthroughs. 40 hours of playtime at least. And endless times restarting the game. I did it, not any sexual activities on record, collected all 4 hero guideline book... THE HOLY EMPRESS. Can't imagine what if I chose Hard difficulty to achieve a wholesome ending. That will be Mission Impossible. For now, I will just train Karryn into a proper slut...

This is my very first H-Game but not my first NSFW game. Karryn's Prison is a one of a kind experience. If you're looking for an in-depth RPG, turn-based style game with different character builds and strategic facility management, then this game is definitely for you.

The repeat value of this game is above and beyond. The art style and animations are great. The storyline is straightforward but not bland.

I cannot recommend this H-RPG enough.

Actually very frustrating and a snail pace to progress. Gameplay works against itself. Neither the story nor the gameplay are interesting enough to carry the game after you come, but rather, the game literally takes you hostage because constant bullcrap pops up for you to take care of before you are in a comfortable place to save the game. Not nearly as good as most people make it out to be. Do you want sandbox eroge? There are better games. Do you want story rpg eroge? There are better games. This is a minefield of bad design decisions and it's an overall waste of your time.
