To be honest, the stories of the first 4 girls' routes are a little bland. They feel like nice, slice of life type of stories, but nothing particularly complex or dramatic. Whenever problems arise the story never really delves all that deep into them, and they get solved a little too easily, and with too much predictability.

But the final girl's route, which you can only play once finishing all the other stories first, is different. It's not without predictability, but you can tell this Visual novel game was made around her story, and the story of the other girls feels more like they were made to put some perspective to that final girl's story.

So if you play through the game and feel the first 4 girls' stories to be a little bland, keep on playing until you get to the meat of the game; the Golden Time story. It will be all worth it.

+all around positive moe-game not trying to present itself as something else;
+vibrant and memorable characters with well-balanced routes (Sylvie is the perfect main girl, Elle's route is full of pleasant yet not boring scenes, Akane-chan is okay as a bonus);
+high quality cg's and graphics;
+remarkably good h-scenes (espesially for threesome and anal enjoyers);

+/- the main morale of the game is basically build around a random phrase about golden time, BUT it's still making some sense when you see the golden world that was created by SEGA PLANETS's team.
+/- feels more like a kinetic novel, choices don't matter, only good endings are present.

- sound design is trash: no catchy melodies; voice actors (aside from Sylvie's and Akane's) don't even try; opening and endings are mediocre;
- Reina's route is lacking from the charage side because they've decided to tell a story about protagonist's past here for some reason; Ria's route just bringing some wishy-washy drama which you don't want to read after finishing most of the plot;

Moe is still moe, but this one is a good example! If you want to immerse yourself in a peculiar world with cute blondes without worrying too much about the plot and visual part/aestethic of the game is a core matter for you, don't hesitate to play, maybe the time you'll spend here has a chance to be GOLDEN.

I don't usually write reviews before I haven't actually finished a game, but its safe to say this one is an exception. Its incredibly long, at one point I was doubting myself whether or not I actually saw the intro movie or not, the common route is so, so long, but I don't regret every minute spent reading. This one may actually top Riddle Joker as it was my favorite at that moment. In fact none of the characters feel like they've been put in just as a filler to the story and for some background characters they even have their own sprites which was a surprise.

Overall the novel is worth every penny, because for me it all has always been about the 'balance', you can't have a good story with bad visuals and good visuals with trash story, this one strikes it in perfection.

Story: 10/10
Soundtrack: 9.5/10
Graphics: 10/10

Overall score: 9.8 which is pretty much a 10 in my book.

Fantastic VN.
A common route and then 5 routes. My playtime is not indicative of how long it takes to beat this novel but it took me a while to truly get into it.
Without saying too much and not even giving names out, 4 of the 5 routes are cute, fun and nice to read. It took me a while I think as its not usually the type of novel that I have read up to this point, and I found it difficult to focus on any particular plot, as well, there really isn't one for those.
The 5th route however is very emotional and lovely, and has a plot, it took me a long time to beat that one, as it was so different from the other routes. At the risk of sounding negative, its also far better than anything else the game has to offer.
The novel is also beautiful visually. Being used to playing older vns at this point (+10 years some even 20 years old) it seems I really need to play some newer ones as this game really showed me just how great the medium can look.

I will definitely be playing the fandisc soon, as that is on steam now.

A proper mixed bag, but what a finale!

While Kinkoi presents itself positively with its high quality art & surprisingly strong OST, to say it gets off to a shaky start would be somewhat of an understatement. The first half of the common route falls flat on its face, with the humour often missing its mark, & characters failing to grab much attention early on. If I had to describe it, it felt like an AI was fed some plot points & told to make a moege... Perhaps that's a bit harsh, but really, it didn't leave a great first impression. Thankfully it starts to pick up towards the end of the common route, though at very few points does it ever come across as anything other than average.

The character routes are, for the most part, another step up over the common route, with the final of the five routes being absolutely sublime, almost justifying the rest of the reads shortcomings on its own. Three of the other four routes impress to varying degrees, though Akane's route feels like a bit of an odd one out - Perhaps a side character that ended up becoming a main character to bolster numbers? Whatever the case, it felt like a bit of an afterthought, & didn't live up to the quality of the other routes.

Nekonyan's translation is as well done as you'd expect, though I did notice some (very) minor technical issues including screen/element flickering while interacting with software on secondary/tertiary displays. This isn't something I've noticed in other games/VNs, but it could just be an odd hardware issue on my end - either way it doesn't detract from the experience all that much, but is worth mentioning all the same.

Overall, I'm left with vibes similar to when I finished "Summer Pockets" - There's just so much forgettable stuff on the way to its finale that it'd be hard to recommend if the finale itself wasn't very good, but that's thankfully not an issue as Kinkoi really manages to stick the landing, & manages to pick up the quality throughout the second half of the read as a whole. Does that justify giving it a shot despite the flaws? I believe so, but at the same time, there are funnier VNs, more emotional VNs, & better story-driven VNs out there, so I'd suggest going into it with tempered expectations & seeing for yourself. For me, I'm at a point now where I'm fairly invested in the characters & what's going on, so I look forward to reading "Golden Time" in the very near future!

(PS. I didn't play with the 18+ patch so I can't comment on the quality/consistency of the H-scenes, but I do know from reading the discussions page that they seem to be a mixed bag, with OOC moments being the biggest culprit. If this is important to you, perhaps do a bit of extra research beforehand).

Seemed okay, common route was alright if a bit dull. You really feel the pain when the writers for a RomCom VN have little to no ability to actually include any of the comedy part of the equation, and that absolutely came into play here. I'm not actually sure that any jokes were made for the entirety of what I read, that's how bad the humor portion is. But what really killed it was the good old folly of the writers having no fucking clue how to naturally transition to romantic or erotic scenes without some completely unbelievable bullshit occurring to make it happen.

The first route I tried was Reina's, and while it started off alright, oh boy, then the uh... "romantic" scene happened with Reina and Ayaka (yes, the first "romantic" scene with Reina involves a threesome, uh oh). Well, hey, at least they finally managed to make me laugh with how absurd and immersion eradicating the scene was. The characters were totally out of character and it was almost insulting to everything they had tried to establish with them up until that point. Basically, character development completely shit the bed with that scene. And everything that followed that train wreck was tainted by the bad taste it left behind.

After giving up on Reina's route I just couldn't find the will to try any of the others for fear that they'd end up the same waste of time.

This has to be the best game I have played in a long time. MMO's, JRPGs, FPS, ect. None of them compare. The writing kept me glued to the screen. I couldn't stop thinking about it, the story was so good. It just got better, and better. Full priced AAA games do not compare. Wish I could had paid more money for this, but happy I got to play it. If I could wipe my memory and play it all over again I would. I haven't gotten all achievements in a game ever, but I felt compelled to do so with this game. 10/10 I recommend. Oh btw Ria is best girl.

Am I mental?? Probably with near 900hrs in this VN and a monumental task of trying to get to 1000 before golden time comes out I gotta say this, none of this would've been possible without spotify since that's what I listen to while I read this for the 6000th time.

To review the actual vn itself tho it's my fave one out of the lot.

Them blondes though…..

Kin’Iro Loveriche….welp if you have a thing for blonde then yes, this is the VN for you! Came for the blonde but stayed for Ria;s route…..her route was a pleasant surprise. but seriously though, I bought this the moment it came out on steam lmao. But I glad I did.

Now about the game

In a nutshell the reason I enjoyed the visual novel was because:
(+) Ending Soundtrack is nice
(+) Considerably long story though it depends on how fast you read (I’m a slow reader)
(+) R-18 Patch is free and can be downloaded at Nekonyan
(+) Uncesored, bye bye mosaics
(+) Ria’s Route

For route progression i think you can go however you want but if you want a bit more oomph I’d suggest going through either Reina’s or Elle’s first as they tell you the MC and Sylvie’s back story. Funny thing is Elle’s route explain Sylvie’s circumstances a lot better than Sylvie’s route herself. In my opinion the overall story was just okay. My 3 favorite routes are Ria, Reina, and Elle as for the other 2 I count those as fillers. It’s okay but it didn’t leave an impression on me.

Issues I had with the visual novel:
I encountered several bugs during my playthrough but not to the point it breaks the game mind you. The first one was during my “Elle Route” playthrough where the background CG shifted leaving a huge ”L” black shaped space on my screen during a conversation scene. The same thing happened again on the other route, but I can’t remember which. The second one was CG mix-ups during an H scene on “Elle Route” where it disappears and reappear. The last one was sprite positioning during a conversation scene, it kept flickering on some part of the sprite overlaps with other sprite. That pretty much the only bugs I encounter during my playthrough pretty minor I’d say

The other issue I had with this VN is Sylvia’s personality….oh god for me she’s just too annoying….if it weren’t for unlocking a certain heroine route I’d probably skip her…..in my opinion the way the VN tried to convey her innocent personality failed horribly and made her pretty much just a really…really troublesome character….at least that’s how I see her. Sure, she had some moments but still an annoying character, nonetheless. Not to mention her route is on the lackluster side.

Overall

It was a pretty good read overall, while some routes pretty much counts as a filler some are actually pretty good especially Ria’s (I’m a sucker for this kind of story) which is hinted throughout the other routes. Is it worth buying it on full price? I’d say yes but if you’re still unsure give the demo a try and see how you like it first. Hopefully the fandisc get localized soon because I heard it had 2 additional routes and after stories for the base heroines! Cant wait!

It's an amazing game, some of the routes are you nice wholesome standard routes but there is that one route that really takes the cake. This one route alone makes this entire game worth it even if you're not use to play visual novels. The characters are well developed and the music is amazing, I really couldn't praise this game enough.

This does have an R18 patch but I think you can still really enjoy this game and it's story without it.

Pretty good VN, but I'm not a fan of how the story is structured. Specifically, it's the fact that each route cannot stand on its own and you have to piece everything together by playing multiple routes. Just let me get to Ria already lmao.

Yellow_Ostrich
Yellow_Ostrich

Just for Ria's Rote, it just made me cry!

I would like some kind of closure on the Ayaka situation, she learns about you in different routes, but you get no feeling as to what happens with her, it doesn't have to be a romantic route, just something, so i know how that unfolds.

The whole game is so well written, i wasn't sure what to think of it at first, but after completing the game, every route is great, Sylvie is a character you fall in love with.
Then when you get to Ria, you fall in love with her in a completely different way, It's gonna be hard for any other VN to make me feel the way i did about Ria, It was a mixture of happiness and sadness, and it just sticks with you even after you finished the game.
I need another game like this! just the emotions put into the game! I want to play it again, but i don't either, just because it won't feel the same, and it's kinda sad to think about!

Do you like blonde haired anime girls?

Presenting Kinkoi: Golden Loveriiche, one of the strongest light-hearted romance visual novels out there!

This is a visual novel that grandly and proudly presents its best foot forward, being as excellent as it hopes to be, no matter who the heroine is. Each of the characters and their routes surrounds and builds upon Kinkoi's central theme of "Golden Time".

While its individual routes are excellent on its own (with no bad routes), It’s a combination of their routes and messaged that helps Kinkoi execute its final true route in its best possible form.

With a fantastic production, enjoyable heroines, and a cohesively sound story and thematic points, Kinkoi Golden Loveriche is a fantastic romance visual novel that also ends on an intensively dramatic yet golden conclusion.

No wonder this game earned one of the top visual novel in Moe Game Award. I thought people just like blondies and R18 contents, but as I finished the story I know how stupid am I to just judge it like that.

Kinkoi has a really unique way of telling you the story. It gives off Nisekoi vibes but with a lot more twist to it. (What's more is that you can date all heroine while in Nisekoi, Raku married with Chitoge) After finishing prologue, Kinkoi let you pick 4 out of 5 heroines to go through first, last one will unlock once you finish other 4. With the setting of childhood promises and mc have little to no memories of those promises, I believe that Kinkoi did a good job on using it because this add a bit more mysterious element into the game as it allow us, the reader have the desperation to read it all the way to find out the memories and promises. Basically all of the mysteries were solved once you complete the game, everything make sense and it didn't left any plot holes unlike most of the visual novels.

I want to share the character design for Kinkoi. They have very interesting heroines, a princess who looks super innocent but a bit cheeky, a knight who is super responsible for her own action, a gyaru who always put others before herself, a sporty girl who is cheerful and always follow her own goal and a delinquent who actually behave super pissed-off all the time but actually care for her friends. They are all unique in their own way, the game doesn't ditch any of them when you are reading a specific heroine route, they are always there to enlighten the story and mood. You will come to like them all, I ensure you. There are a lot of twist here and there in each of their routes but by far, the last route definitely make a huge differences as I am pretty sure she is the true true true heroine compared to others and I enjoyed it all the way. All of your questions will be answered in her route, don't worry, there won't be any left-over mysteries and you will be a happy man. no you won't, its an emotional train

R18 patch is free, a lot of CGs are beautiful to look at, BGMs is fine (It doesn't make a huge impact tbh), 3Ps are really unexpected. Price might be an issue, so get it when it's on discount but feel free to purchase it with full price to support the translation group and the developer team, Sage Planet. To sum up, get the game if you like blondie heroines or you just want to read some nice and relaxing visual novel.

Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche.

The story take place where genuine main character that stumble with the princess and he himself also enroll to a noble academy with princess and more character and familiar faces he will find in the academy. More to unfold to find the main character backstory and others as well.

I will state a minor spoiler but it's mostly just a small surprises and mechanics .
The story is very different than all the slice of life eroge genre VN that I played before. The common routes and others are good and well written for all characters but very small plot holes. This is one of the VN that not entirely focus on eroge genre but it's more in-depth storytelling that I ever gone through in many VN that I ever played before. i will say that Saga Planet really made a good VN (not surprised as this VN also awards winning 2017 in Japan) and thanks to Nekonyan for translating this VN to international fans since it's very underated and deserve more attention to all players as well.

For my own review, the visual novel is great and very good choice of new visual novel player that want to try it out.

10/10. Golden Time is precious to all of us

Probably the 2nd best Moege I've read so far behind Aokana
I guess its not really fair to compare Aokana to this considering they are both going for completely different tones in their stories but these 2 are what I consider must reads for Moe stories.
Also IMO route tier list
Ria>Reina>Sylvia>Akane>Heroina

None of the character are actually what I consider bad per se. All of them especially in the common route and even in the background of other heroine routes are pretty enjoyable. Its just the same problem I guess many Moeges face in that some routes have that obvious factor where they feel more important or more substantial.

Aokana also faces this problem but in that case I just enjoy the world more. This doesn't really affect the experience as a whole though, the only reason I can outright recommend this and Aokana out of everything I've read so far is that all the routes are at least from enjoyable reads to must reads.

Some other novels suffer just because of how Moeges have to appeal to so many different tastes, the character just feels like a blank slate with the archetype slapped on. Others suffer just because it feels like everything the common route has established so far just disappears and only the heroine remains, sure cute heroines are the appeal of Moeges but I can't really enjoy the story when it feels like the common route was a total cop out, I might as well be reading straight up Doujins at that point.

As for the story itself. To avoid really spoiling anything (I'm sure you can probably find other reviews spoiling it if you want). There are 2 obvious standout stories being Sylvia and Ria. As for why I enjoy one of the other character's route more its probably just me being biased. The story follows Ouro and his enrollment into Noble Private Academy and hijinks ensues. Its not outstanding from the description alone but it doesn't have to be.

It manages to balance the main romance aspect with comedy really well, unlike some novels where some jokes don't really land well, Kinkoi's jokes are actually some of the best ones I laughed at them more than I think 70% of jokes in other VNs, the joke deliveries doesn't feel out of place or forced and even manage to incorporate 4th wallbreaks seamlessly. Some novels can do these well but I usually find these kinds of jokes are left to fandisks so its refreshing to see it done so well.

CGs are also some of the main draws of Moeges and these ones are top notch, even side characters getting scenes you don't see that in many novels.

Yuzusoft I feel is probably the baseline to beat in what makes a Moege at least worth reading. Sure I do find Yuzusoft novels now as nothing really special after you see the same archetypes appear over and over again, but they are still passable, a simple read to enjoy without any complicated storyline with a basic romance structure with some of the best CGs still.

Kinkoi checks off all of these with ease so if there's something you want to start out reading VNs this might be one of my recommends if you are looking for a fun read.

If you see Saga Planets, Yuzusoft, or NekoNyan involved, you can bet it will be a premium and amazing title, and Kinkoi doesn't disappoint. Legendary artist Hontani Kanae shows off some of their most premium work in one of the best eroge titles out there. It is a charming story with beautiful characters created with god tier art. This is the very definition a premium visual novel.

I STRONGLY recommend a specific route order: Reina > Akane > Elle > Sylvie > Ria
3 additional characters, Mina, Ayaka, and Maria, don't have routes but they still play very major roles in the story.

This is to ensure that one route spoiling another route is kept to a minimum, and you can get the off topic routes done first. There's nothing wrong with any of the routes, but Reina and Akane's routes (especially Akane) are more generic and don't relate well to the Sylvia/Elle/Ria ecosystem.

Also once you finish Ria's route, reload an older save file for Sylvie's route and complete (fast forward)to the end of Sylvie's route a second time in order to see a hidden scene important to Ria's route. (Yea doesn't make sense).

Easily one of the best VNs ive ever played. The story isnt fantastic, but the characters all felt like real people, and that was more than enough to carry me through every route. Each route did great at making sure every character got their fair share of screentime, going as far as to include side chracters to the same degree they were included in the common route, so it felt more of an extension to the common route rather than its own story that had been stapled onto it. Worth every penny

I've just finished Reina's route but I really like what I've seen up to this point.

Normally in a moege like this, once the heroine's route starts, almost all other characters are phased out and it makes the game a bit stale. Reina's route in Kinkoi is different from that. There're tons of interaction with other characters and it makes the route feels like an extension of the excellent common route, which I like very much. Not to mention Reina herself is cute AF.

For now, I recommended it. If you like a great moege, Kinkoi won't disappoint you (I consider it a much, much better Noble Works).

I'll update the review later once I finish other routes.

Hands down one of, if not the best visual novel I have ever read. It has a well thought out story with a nice message of trying to be the best version of yourself no matter what. I was also incredibly impressed how even the side characters played such an important role in the story and were not simply phased out like most other visual novels do with their minor/side characters. A truly enjoyable experience that is worth every second.

I have never played this game. This game did not make me smile and make me sad. This game is not good at all. The characters all sucked and I was soooooo bored, yep that is right, I did not enjoy it at all. I only have to finish 3 more routes but I hate playing it and the story is not addicting. It is not a goo VN at all trust me, man I am still on Elle's route but I am not at all enjoying this VN. Why would keep playing something I hate? I have found my Golden Time......wait what am I typing. Play this game, it is so good, wait no do not do what I am. Do not listen to him, this is a wonderful visual novel. 9/10

Not entirely certain how I'm supposed to feel about this VN. Has probably the roughest start to any story I've seen.

"It's like everything you want from a Yuzusoft game. Good writing, good ero scenes, good drama and the fact that it's not made by Yuzusoft." (https://vndb.org/w4280)
Scrolling through vndb to find new vn to read i've seen this comment and it got me hooked. All vn from Yuzusoft that i've started to read, have got dropped after 1-2 routes due to large focus on romance and romance alone. I'm huge fan of romance as a genre but when romance exceeding all levels and characters starting to go chyuu-chyuu every 2 minutes it starts to get boring. And this game has perfect balance in contrast to games of other studio.
Let's start with something i don't like:
1) Too much focus on ero scenes (for me at least).
2) Common route was not enjoyable. Surprisingly enough most of novels that i've read had a good common route which you want to finish in one go, but here it was kinda meh
3) The problem of mc past is kinda lame and I think unbelievable it's so hard to talk with your CHILDHOOD FRIEND about this problem bruh
4) SPOILER ABOUT TRUE ROUTE poor Ria i feel really bad about the ending, but there is fan disk, maybe there will happy ending for her
And finally positives:
1) FULL HD. Not so much vn have this resolution it is a bliss to read it without lossless scaling and etc
2) True route. Without it i think it will be very average vn, but when you add it to the mix vn starts to shine golden)
3) Especially good humor
4) Adorable heroines
I can say for sure that every one who wants to enjoy vn without too much focus on drama and don't have high expectaitions from story can have good time reading this novel.
8/10 (+1.5 for true route)

TLDR; decent art, decent H-scenes, but really good characters and a great, well-crafted, integrated story.

This game definitely had some ups and downs, but all of the hardest parts to get through were in the very beginning (the "prologue" takes quite a while before you can even get to the route selection). I don't want to spoil, but although the main cast and the main girls are all sympathetic, the supporting cast is not very likable until the second half of the prologue. After that, though, things happen to make the mood improve, and the unlikable characters diminish to just a small handful (only one is present in all routes).

As for the main routes... Prepare for some interesting stories, and the final bonus route is VERY powerful. I think most players will find themselves very moved and emotionally-charged by the story as they play through to the end. The main theme is "Golden Time" and doing the most with the precious time we get with our loved ones and friends. That theme carries through all of the routes, as well as the idea of trying to find your place in the world and showing off the "coolest" person you can be.

The main routes are entertaining, and have plenty of H-scenes in (along with some "quirks" if you're interested) if you have the 18+ patch. The H-scenes do tend to play a little long and have a lot of "vocals" and a lot of back and forth text with sordid details before the happy endings, but that might actually be a plus for many.

The visuals are fairly static, and drawn well-enough and have some good art in the standard poses, although I wouldn't say the character art was spectacular in the H-scenes. The anatomy matches up, and there aren't any real bad points, but it doesn't really stand out above your other 18+ VNs. The clothing design in general is okay, but not super-eye-catching, including both the outerwear (including the school uniform) and the underwear. All-in-all, the art was serviceable, but the strongest points of the game were definitely in the story-telling and characterizations.

The girls are very likable, all of them. They each have distinct personalities, but they are all very pure and kind, even if they are gruff on the outside. The main character is mostly bland, as is typical for these kinds of stories, but he does have a more distinct personality than you usually get, with some history that plays a major story in most of the routes.

The biggest plus for me, story-wise, though, are the all the Chekhov's guns that are placed and fired within the routes. Ichi's childhood, Sylvie's childhood events, the reason for the kids even meeting, all the way down to how the kids get their hands on the box at the beginning, everything is looped back together and things are placed down well-ahead of time, and come to conclusion later. It was a marvelous job of foreshadowing and setting the stage without coming across as blatant and obvious. That kind of story-crafting is just enjoyable no matter how you slice it.

Overall, worth the money. Grind through the prologue, even if it gets infuriating and uncomfortable, and you'll be rewarded with a terrific, well-crafted main story and five pleasant, really well-characterized heroines, all topped off by a emotional powerhouse of a final route.

Well, I don't really know how to write a review but I will do my best. This is the first "real" VN I've read in a very long time, as up to this point I've only read DDLC, watched others play other VNs that I don't really remember and maybe some crappy shorter mobile ones.
Also 95% spoiler free. I've spoiler tagged any potential spoilers notably at my mini guide below, but there mostly nothing too revealing besides maybe my final paragraph.

This game was beautiful, it has an insanely long common route (~7 hours! holy shit!!). Not only that, but every character route felt fulfilling and enjoyable.

One thing to note is that this is in nearly all aspects, a Kinetic Visual Novel, which means that it only focuses on one linear story. There are no "wrong choices" or "bad endings"

Well, there are technically multiple endings but there is only one for every route you take. The beautiful thing about this is that every route you take reveals different information and different story aspects that will set you up for the "True Ending" [I'll make a very quick guide on that below].

One last thing, the H-scenes. They're honestly really good, and there's an R-18 patch. Most of them aren't contrived and fit quite well with the story progression. I still found myself skipping some but they aren't that bad. Although they don't add much to the story I still feel you should at least skim through and get the gist of what happened.

-------------------------------------

So, to play this:

First, finish up the incredibly long common route. Depends on the reader but it can feel like it keeps going and going with no end in sight. May also make you feel like shit or feel bad to our protag but trust me it gets mostly resolved by the time the route ends.

When you've finished the common route, go to Start and pick who you want. There a total of fiveroutes, and one "True Ending" after completing all of them.
After I've played the game, The order I recommend doing is Reina/Elle > Elle/Reina > Akane > Sylvie > GOLDEN TIME. CREATE A SAVE AFTER THE END OF SYLVIE'S ROUTE AFTER THE ED ANIMATION.

At first, you will only see Sylvie, Reina and Elle. The fourth one will only appear after you've completed one route, and the final one will appear in the title screen after completing the first four. Once you finished this final one, load back the save from Sylvie's route to complete the game.

This guide^ is only a tl;dr and if you want more in depth you can refer to this amazing guide (don't worry, spoilers are spoiler tagged as well, but the names of the fourth and final ones are revealed sooo ):

Anyway, this game was a literal ride. From the absurd and outrageous humor that I thoroughly enjoyed, to its amazing routes and endings but also its incredibly depressing final route and true ending that made me cry buckets after and fall into the "post-finishing a story" depression. I think it's worth the money if you love VNs. If you're an amateur/new to VNs, this can also be an amazing first VN experience.

In my opinion, maybe one of the best VNs (especially on steam)
The story, romance, and comedy was done REALLY well throughout every route. I really like the fact that you have to play multiple routes to get all of the MC's backstory (instead of it being on one route like other VNs). Also every route is good with solid backstories and information, even on Akane's route (the "sub-heroine" of this game I guess).
Last thing is that you don't need to worry about choices, since the game just has a route selection screen for you (though some people, me included, want route-leading choices since it wouldn't feel VN-ish kinda?)
TLDR; Great VN, would definitely recommend playing

Man, I have really mixed feelings about Kinkoi.

To start off with some negatives, the VN is too long for what it contains. Each route is about as long as a 26 episode anime and there’s way to much repetition of the main plot details for the benefit of players who go through the routes in a different order. Too much of the plot hinges on our MC being extraordinarily forgetful about past events and generally dense. There’s a mini route that’s especially weak and doesn’t tie into the rest of the game at all.

The common route relentlessly reminds you how the nobles treat the commoners badly and MC is basically bullied nonstop at the aptly named Noble Academy by almost everyone other than the main girls and never bothers to do anything to address it until it takes care of itself by accident.

The three main routes are the Princess, the Knight, and a normal kind girl. These are all generally enjoyable aside from the repetition of certain plot points, and some overly artificial drama at certain points. The girls are interesting, the art is very good, and there are definitely some laugh out loud moments. There are also some parts that are genuinely touching.

Once completing all the other routes, the final route unlocks and to put it mildly, it’s a complete tonal shift from the rest of the game. That’s not to say it isn’t good, it’s probably the best part of all of this. But it’s emotional whiplash and maybe a little bit of cheap move.

Overall this is still a decently good VN but not a cut and dry recommendation. Here’s hoping we all find our own Golden Time.

Out-of-character behavior during sex scenes is a problem for me, but I can tolerate it. Out-of-character behavior during sex scenes caused by mind-altering substances (drugs in this case) is a big no-no for me, but I could still tolerate it. Out-of-character behavior during a couple's first time caused by mind-altering substances making them experience their first time before they actually become a couple and in a threesome with a third person, who would not normally do that with them (or vice versa) is a dealbreaker. I regret buying this game.

If you're looking for something with hot sex scenes, likeable characters and funny writing, and don't care about wholesome romance as much as I do (and if you don't care whether a couple's first time is romantic and special or not), then I think you'll like this game, unlike me.

This review is gonna be as spoiler free as I can make it. First off I recommend this game at full price, it's a pure read VN with very little choice that lasts around 70 hours, its rom-com story is charming with plenty of well placed reveals if you play it a certain way, it has amazing art and music that doesn't get old over the 70 hour and has alot of characters you'll love. It's definitely worth the asking price, so if that's enough information, than have fun! But otherwise I got some more in depth spoiler free details I want to mention in here.

Let's start with the 18+ patch. Maybe I am getting too old for this but oh boy those scenes last freaking forever and are constant (3 to 4 per story) I am sure if you just set it to Auto at the speed you can read they would last 30-45 minutes each including the build up which is there without the patch. But weirdly I felt like I needed this patch, I tried it without it the patch and it seemed to cut away from a conversation too early. I confirmed this when reapplying the patch, the way they edited it was to cut away too early even though what they cut out wasn't 18+. Regardless I kept the patch on and I get it if you want the patch, the hentai is well done as is the voices. I just found they lingered too long and I overall wasn't here for that.

Anyways without spoilers I wanna rate these "scenarios" (the women you date) there are two secret ones but if you read any other reviews you already know the girls. i will save the true scenario a secret and call it by it's name "Golden Time"

The way I write these story reviews down are the way I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PLAYING. After the prologue and every scenario it dumps you to the menu and you choose the next from a new game. I just random chose them from least to most interesting but the way the entire story unfolded I recommend everyone doing this. It kept surprising me all the way through and if i did a different way it would had gotten boring. Each Scenario is 12 hours long on average. From here on out I am calling them stories

First let talk about Oruo the MC: This dude is a cringy. Even for Anime/Manga standards this guy is DENSE. Mostly this guy is sulky, depressed, confused or horny. I understand why he is all these, but alot of the time I wanted to smack him. Also when he gets horny he is kinda a douche when others are around, he is at a Japanese academy for rich kids talking about getting b*** jobs from Transgender women with a Princess next to him or talking to his Girlfriend about how he performed oral and wants to do it again with his classmates around freaking out. I sure wasn't like that at 16 at least with people around (Oops sorry 18 lol).

Prologue: A-: The prologue is excellent and gets you interested right away, gives you enough mysterious throughout while introducing you to the cast. If you disliked the prologue you're not going to like the rest of the game. Read the description if you wanna know more since this is spoiler free even for the start of the game.

Reina: C- : OK I'll admit it, this is the woman I'd date in real life I just love this woman's personality. But the story? Its OK, it mostly focuses around what happened to the MC and its pretty sports heavy. But it's still a blast and kept me interested with his past, but eh its ALOT of sports talk. It does have the the best 18+ scene though! It made the rest of the game fun when I would remember it during other stories.

Akane: F : Oh my god did I hate this story. This game was a Kickstarter game and this story has "extended goal" written all over it. This story is a fucking slog and seems like it was written by the creator's 13 year old child. Akane was already my least interested woman with her perky "set your heart afire!" attitude. It literally adds no new developments to the overall story, the other interesting characters don't even know Akane is and so aren't in this, which means it was just about her doing sports, I mentioned Reina had alot of sports? Well it also had stuff related to the story, this is nothing but sports. It also skips alot of the "timed scenes" the other stories overlap with and even the after credit scene doesn't have the MC in it. If it wasn't for the fact you HAVE to play this to get "Golden Time" I would had skip this. Also if it wasn't for the fact you have to play one scenario before this unlocks I would had gotten it out of the way first. If i knew what i knew now I would had turned on SKIP. If you're into the 18+ scenes and wanna see it with her, then sure, its kinda worth it, but even those are the weakest in the game. I could literally write the entire plot up and spoil zero in this game. It's just bad except the fact she is cute. Sorry for those who liked this.

Ellie: A- : Ok after Akane, Elle got me back in love with the game. I loved Elle story! It's probably the second deepest story of the lot and opens up so much you didn't know up til then. This dives into separation of work and personal life and it's really good!

Sylvia: A+ : Ok I know you want to play Sylvia first but trust me save this for last, even if you don't follow my order at least save this for last. This is the ultra romantic one and the one that puts everything you've learned from the other two stories and combines them, you want this last. Sylvia is my favorite character and you know all the creative love was put into fleshing her out the way they did. While I would date Reina in real life that's because there are women like Reina, Sylvia is the dream girl that doesn't exist.

Golden Time A : Golden Time is the most easiest to spoil story. I won't say much but you unlock Golden Time when you finish the other stories. This story is a damn rollercoaster if this was just the Prologue and this story I would had been happy. But it's jarring how different the tone of the story and the characters in it are. This is the deepest story of them all, the only reason I didn't give it a A+ is because the game overall left me confused if this is the cannon story or not (collect all achievements)

Which brings me to this game's biggest fault. Every story has a weird way of overstaying it's welcome. There are not many choices, the choices don't do anything overall, I adjusted the text speed and turned on "Auto" for 99% of this game and this is a pure 72 hour read. So when I say it overstays it's welcome, it's in the way that a story starts amazing (Other than Akane) then after around the time the character starts dating it starts to slowly decline with alot of the MC repeating what he already said and slice of life stuff then right before the end of the story while you're doing the "wrap it up" signal, the climax comes and it shoots back up to amazing and you're fulfilled and ready for the next story. The extremely long and constant 18+ scenes sure do not help this. But like I said, they cut out interesting facts without the patch. So remove them at your own caution because without it some scene usually just abruptly ends mid conversation and it's jarring or keep them and make sure you close your blinds.

Anyways. I recommend this game. If you feel like a Rom-Com VN. The way the game pieces a little bit of the overall story together by focusing on it per story is excellent and in the end I feel this game was great. Akane story and the points in the other stories getting "long in the tooth" in the middle part are the only cons to this game.

SnugSz
SnugSz

TLDR: Kinkoi is a good romance visual novel featuring memorable and lovable heroines. It consists of a decent common story which does well to introduce us to the cast and sparks the beginning of the relationships that lead to each individual heroine route which are all interesting and fun in their own right.

I would highly recommend this for people who want a great romantic comedy with decent/good character development. If you're looking for a more serious and/or drama filled romance, I'd probably turn away.

Just a warning beforehand, I will be going a bit in depth on my thoughts about the game and each specific route to review this game, so, there will be potential SPOILERS ahead. So please read at your own discretion.

Common Route

Kinkoi portrays a story about a boy named Ouro who finds himself attending a private school for nobles due to unfortunate events involving a foreign princess, who also turns out to be a childhood friend from long ago. From this premise, the common route begins as Ouro, being a simple everyday commoner, is thrown into a world where he doesn't belong and is forced to face the problems that come with it.

It's not exactly an original premise, but the story and writing does well in the common route to express and connect us with the situations Ouro goes through. There's a great balance of light-heart comedy and the stress/anger that we experience throughout the story as we see Ouro does what he can to make new friends and overcome having to deal with classmates who despise his commoner status. All the while, we get to experience and know the heroines before we decide which routes we want to approach. The story of the common route isn't very deep, but it doesn't necessarily have to be, as it simply focuses on engaging us with Ouro's new life and our cast of heroines. Overall, it's a very solid and enjoyable common route.

Upon finishing the common route, we get to dive into 4 select heroines: 3 main heroines and 1 side heroine. Upon finishing all 4, a 5th route will present itself on the title screen. Depending on the heroine route, this is where I started having some issues in terms of immersion and quality. As much as I enjoyed this game, there are strange romantic developments that greatly ruined my immersion in the three main heroine routes. This mainly pertains to the kinks that happen that feel awkwardly out of place or forced to push romantic developments.

Reina's Route:

I initially started with Reina's route due to my love for her personality and I assumed Sylvia's and Elle's route would be more important to the overall plot so I wanted to read them later rather than sooner. With that said, Reina's route does amazing at giving us a deeper insight into Ouro's history. Reina's and Ouro's relationship is well paced as it starts off as two good friends who have difficulty taking the next step.

It was very enjoyable and believable. Until, that is, a certain erotic event takes place somewhere in the middle which made me scratch my head in confusion and made it hard to take their relationship seriously... It was as if whoever wrote this route didn't know how to take the next step into their relationship either and forced it in the most awkward and out-of-place sense. This was by far the worst part of the entire game for me. Fortunately, the latter half of the route regained its great writing and pacing, giving probably one of the best closures for Ouro. Despite the huge bump in the middle, Reina's route starts well and also ends well.

If I had any other complaints about this route, it would be that Reina doesn't really have anything happening for her in terms of personal development. She's pretty much the same from beginning to end. But I'd also argue that she doesn't really need any. It fits her character perfectly; being a laid-back, happy-go-lucky caring personality she is. Her story is more about finding the balance between being a friend and being a lover, which in itself is good enough for me.

Akane's route:

This was the 2nd route I played for similar reasons as Reina's route. Akane is the side heroine and it's further emphasized as so due to her route being the most simple and short of all other routes. There's not much to say about Akane's route besides it being a simple vanilla side story. I enjoyed it for what it was but there wasn't much development going on for either characters. It's cute, I suppose. That's about it from me.

Sylvia's Route:

Sylvia is the third route I played and one of the best routes, in my opinion. Sylvia is an extremely likable character and her route only further enforces that. From a romantic development standpoint, both Ouro and Sylvia present the most genuine romance towards each other. We see Ouro's struggles and worries when it comes to trying to present himself as a person worthy of Sylvia and vice versa, adding much to the comedy and adorableness of the route as we find ourselves constantly rooting for them. There's a lot of development from both sides and to the overall story as this route adds a bit of drama to bring our characters together, dives more into their shared past, and presents dialogue and events that foreshadow things to come.

Depending on various choices you make in Sylvia's route, you may or may not encounter an erotic event that suffers similar issues as I presented in Reina's route. Although the event was, personally, somewhat off-putting for me due to the randomness and out-of-place nature, I won't go much into it as it's nowhere near the same level as Reina's was. Other than that, I think this route did amazingly well at diving deeper and developing both Ouro and Sylvia.

Elle's Route:

This was the 4th route I chose. I honestly thought the route was somewhat boring?.. The reason for this being is due to this route highly focusing on Elle's backstory and personal development more so than it was about Ouro's. In previous routes, we see Ouro's backstory used to help connect him and our heroines together. However, Ouro in this route feels like he's just here along for the ride while we focus on Elle's problems, which I won't go too deep into. Not only does Ouro feel omitted from Elle's developments, the overall story of Elle's route revolves around her finding a sense of independence from everyone else, mainly Sylvia. So, as a result, Elle's route feels more about the relationship between her and Sylvia more so than it is about her and Ouro.

I guess it's not something bad, but I didn't particularly enjoy having Ouro not have any big part in Elle's development other than being a romantic partner for the sake of being a romantic partner...

Maybe I'll give it another read sometime just to make sure I'm not just being delusional but that's how I felt about her route. It's not terrible, as the comedy and heartwarming moments also present itself here, but it certainly doesn't feel as impactful as the other main routes.

Ria's Route:

This is the final route that unlocks upon completing all the other routes. I think it's best if I didn't talk too much about explanations and my thoughts on this route because of potential big spoilers. If the rest of Kinkoi before this route was a nice and peaceful walk on the street, then Ria's route was the random truck that suddenly isekai'd me to another world.

It's no doubt the most impactful route of them all and arguably the best route. But it does somewhat feel very out of place with its bittersweet and melancholic tonal shift.

Final Thoughts

Do I recommend this game? Yes, of course! But be prepared for the surprises that you'll probably absolutely hate or absolutely love. Unfortunately for me, most of the time it was the former rather than the latter. Despite those surprises, overall Kinkoi was a great read and I would still highly encourage people who love romantic comedies to give this a chance. You won't regret it.

--- "Blonde, Blondes Everywhere" the moment I touch this. ---
I summarize what i've get after finish Visual Novel "Kinkoi: Golden Loveriche".

The story begins with Ichimatsu Ouro, a boy who dropped out of school and has a chance encounter with a rich, blonde girl. He just yeet the girl when spotted a group of men in black chasing her.
What he didn’t know at the time was that this girl was a European princess named Sylvie who comes from a small, technologically advanced country called Sortilège. After a lot of twists, the boy finds himself with a golden opportunity: to become part of the notorious Noble Academy.

There are 5 heroines route which you can choose. Only Sylvie, Reina, and Elle are available, later will be unlocked by completing those routes.

+ Playtime 30+ hours (All CG 100%+True ending)
+ Have all romance, drama and comedy in one. Kakashi Butt Attack FTW
+ True Route feels satisfying what actually happen between them.

- One heroine route is a little short when compared to other routes.
- No Ayaka Route

Definitely a great and unique moege, with the most developed MC in the genre as far as I've played/read. And very lovable cast of characters.

HooMEye
HooMEye

Unfortunately, I think this VN fails to be as great as it could have been. It's predominantly slice of life, but a lot of the time the story lacks anything that feels meaningful. Much of the drama simply stems from the MC being such an idiot or repetitive problems that don't seem all that bad when spread so thin. And although the use of humor throughout is largely enjoyable, there is too little serious character development, realism and/or story line. A successful slice of life story doesn't necessarily need all of those to be a major area of development, but it really needed more focus on at least one of those other elements. There's a decent story there, it's just spread a bit too thin across too many routes that each contribute too little unique and meaningful content over the same shared time period.

The realism goes particularly off the rails during some of the H content/scenes. Much of it just felt like an adolescent boy's fantasy - and in fact I wish he would have woken up from a dream or something (as cheap as that can be) instead of trying to actually work it into the story. Reina's route includes an unintentional, drug-induced threesome and Sylvie uses her little sister's innocent, blind trust and obedience to manipulate her in a truly twisted way. I guess that's fine if that's what you're into, but it didn't fit to me.

However, after all of the relatively light stories, the VN suddenly sucker punches you with an onslaught of horrible reality in Ria's route, which is pretty rough. I think quite a few of us have personally dealt with loving someone who had cancer, so please be forewarned. In many ways this is the most meaningful content in the VN and shows the impact the author(s) could have had throughout if they hadn't spread things so thin to accommodate so many routes without introducing much in the way of additional story.

So yeah, while it could have been better, I did generally enjoy the read. Although the MC was a bit of an idiot, he wasn't unlikable, and the main female characters were also likable (if a bit tropey). It also had decent humor, artwork and VO, and for those getting the R18 patch for adult content, the scenes are uncensored.

its a good game kinda sad i wasn't given a ria route because frankly that seems like it would be awesome. other than that this game is awesome.

Kinkoi: Golden loveriche is undoubtedly one of the better visual novels currently available on the market. As I write this, I only recently just finished the game to 100% completion, barring DLC "content". Which can be downloaded externally, just sayin'. Anyway, onto the review:
In terms of gameplay, this is a visual novel, so I'm not really sure if you can call playing it gameplay, so much as reading, and watching. Regardless, it delivers where it counts.
On the technical side, it manages a nice UI, although not as advanced in terms of sheer features as some of the others I've seen, but it allows for comprehensive configuration to your tastes, and a nice layout.
Music-wise, this is one of the best VN soundtracks I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying, boasting a dynamic, and large soundtrack which does not fail to satisfy. The way it fits with the story works to perfection.
Meanwhile, the writing is certainly up the scratch, being some of the most entertaining, and engaging writing I've seen in VNs. Especially in relation to light-hearted humour, Sagaplanets delivers. However, that in no way means that they do not manage the tone of the more serious parts of the story as well, those are just as well done, and do not suffer in the slightest. I will say, though, that this is more than just a light-hearted visual novel. Without spoiling it, I can say that the story touches on very serious notes, and will take you on an emotional rollercoaster.
Art-wise, character design is great, albeit, not quite what I prefer on a personal level, compared to other VNs, but not the worse for it. Meanwhile, background art is also quite well-done, including all the details a scene needs to work. For the cultured DLC, I found the art was iffy, and sorta weird. I actually uninstalled it because I thought the art was weird. Lol.

Good game, you should buy it.

Bad Visual Novel. The story is padded to the extreme, with little to no story hooks, and there is no gameplay, so it is mostly a game of pressing SKIP.

Good story though I found it hard to relate with the main character because women speak to him, something I've yet to experience for myself.

havent play much VNs but this one i enjoyed alot
finished 2 route so far when i wrote this review and i can say everyone is a good girl
if you're looking for vanilla + slice-of-life VN, this is what you're looking for
it do takes some time before you can get into heroine's route [took me like 9h+ but im a slow reader] but its a VN, no need to be hasty on these kind of game
honestly i'd say its worth the full price, i bet its not this often to find a good quality VN

reminder: i've only finished 2 routes [planning to finish all of them]
