First of all the games key binding is complex for no reason , secondly they do not provide a viewing map to trap of the player on where he is going , thirdly they have given very little clues on what to get from where and have very little anything resource to crafts , fourth of all they have the worst house building option there is . And many more other flaws like not actuealy letting customization a characters looks but rather fix it on where the player starts and etc . It has many more flaws and cons than pros .

This is essentially a farming game but with optional combat in a labyrinth like cave system.
The combat is fun and challenging but the story line, even though interesting, is not quite finished yet. I'm looking forward to seeing more of the story line.
There is a really nice building aspect where you are given walls, floors, decorations and more and you can build whatever structure you like - as long as you have the resources. The farming is also quite good. It scales nicely with the game, as you become bored of one aspect of farming there is an upgrade (a tool or new structure) to make it less monotonous. Eventually all you need to do is plant and harvest.
There is a town where you can buy and sell items (except fibres) to upgrade weapons, tools and backpack.
My only complaint is not being able to buy or grow fibres. I spend the majority of my time cutting down bushes for fibres.
There are a few places that have been earmarked for further development and I can't wait to see what comes from those.
It is a fun and engaging game, definitely recommend for anyone that likes an easy going play, building/farming with optional combat. I say optional combat because you could spend your entire time out of the caves and avoiding combat completely. If you do so you will miss out on the story line, but that's about it. There is one island that has combat on it - but you'll have to search for it yourself.
Overall this is a great game well worth your time for entertainment.

This early access was so much fun and I was really bummed to finish the game. But super excited to see where they take this game! Awesome game Flow Studios, keep it up!

imagine playing diablo with only 1 skill, basic attack, no map at all and checkpoints/teleports that work to exit the dungeon and not to go back where u left. yep, imagine this and u got an idea of how this game is

Doesn't play well on the steam deck. Looks like a great game to play. I will invest more hours when I get a chance to play the PC.

Building and crafting is a lot of fun, and the world is great for just exploring, or for dungeon raiding.

I think it's pretty good. I'd change the daytime to last longer, add more detail to the caves and homes, and work on the fishing. Only 7% of players have caught a fish; that should tell the developer what's wrong with fishing without anyone saying "Hey, slow down the mini-game." There's no time to react. All-in-all, good game.

Yeah, that's a no from me dawg. Although I'm a fan of the genre, this is as stale as it gets. At least write some dialogues for characters man! "Hey" or "Lovely evenin' huh?" are not gonna cut it for the price you're asking. Needs work, a whole lot of it.

I love this game. The Sim-like building quality of the houses, the farming of Stardew Valley, and the dungeon crawling with mining are all rad. I really enjoy the ability to automate farming that you can achieve later in game, and now that I've taken down that Voidboar, I am very much looking forward to the dungeon expansion future updates will bring, as well as the new biomes coming down the pipes.

I love this game! It is great casual fun, and gets challenging in the dungeon. Fun growing crops, heading to town to sell excess, and fishing when ya got nothing else to do! Highly recommend!

The basic game mechanics are cool but it seems there is almost no progress in EA.

Things are unbalanced and unfinished (which you obviously have to expect in EA) but there are no changes or updates in anyway since almost a year.
The updates are minor and include things as "keymapping" and a little fishing mini-game instead of focusing on real issues and the lack of content.

Awesome game, beautiful graphics, I wish it had as more funding for content, I have bought it twice for myself and my girl friend. dungeon crawling and exploration in this game is alot of fun. the creatures and thoughtful and terrifying. Building style is freaking awesome too, love that you can upgrade foundations and walls ect. after they have been placed. Super fun game I highly recommend.

PLEASE BUY IT SO THEY MAKE MORE CONTENT FOR IT I CANNOT GET ENOUGH OF THIS.

In the 17 years that I've been on Steam, I have never written a review for any game. So, this is a bit of a moment for me.

Out of all the games that I own, this is the one I look forward to playing the most. The atmosphere is fantastic, the sounds and music are great, and the gameplay is super easy and fun! This game is super chill and incorporates a lot of genres putting it all into one neat and beautiful single package. Want to farm, plant your seeds! Want to build, lay your foundation! Want to explore, away you go! Want to fight, heads up! Want to trade, empty your pockets! Want to fish, go hook a big one!

Sure, it's still in development, is in Early Access and issues are still being ironed out, but it's already got so much of the replayability factor. I cannot wait for Flow Studio to update this beautiful gem of a game! I want more!!!

Just get the game. Go, just go buy it!!

This game is super chill and relaxing. I've been playing it a lot more since they added fishing and I think the game has a lot of promise if they continue adding more content. The aesthetic of what you build and craft is really nice. I enjoy growing crops and baking bread, rather than going into the mines, as I'm not really into the stress of fighting monsters, personally. I hope future content embraces the cozy vibes of crafting and farming rather than adding more combat.

zigazagoo28

Fun game but around 6 hours it started to feel a bit repetitive. Maybe throwing in some good NPC chat options and some other places to explore besides the cavern and the one place in the town that has clues would be good. I do suggest giving the game a go tho, it has some really great potential.

this game is still too green.
After 13 hr I hit the end for the current content (as of 08/07/22). which is kind of disappointed for a game of this type but understandable being that is an early access.
That said I did enjoy those 13 hours play. though, a lot of things left me wishing for improvements, reason why I can't recommend the game

-way to sandbox. I appreciate the freedom but this is a bit too much, there's really nothing telling you where to go or what to do to the point that the beginning of the game is Just frustrating and confusing
- combat is interesting at first but it definitely need more variety than just melee weapons
- food is your main source healing as well as buffing (in some cases) but is so annoyingly unclear being that they have no descriptions of what they do. is more of a try it out and do your best to remember. as well as many food items just feel extra, probably because they're going to add cooking later on but for now some of them are borderline useless
- limitation with the hot bar just feels unnecessary, you are already limited by how much you can carry around so limiting the hotbar just feels annoying
- building can use some improvements as well, like with the excessive need of having a foundation floor on everything even for simple thing like a outside light or stairs to go up a cliff. they gave me gives you the impression that building is very free, but then not really which is disappointing

I have played this game regularly since I found it on Steam. I think overall the content so far is good quality, with plenty to do and designed in a way to let the player decide how hard of a time their play session will be.

From building, to fishing, to going to the market, playing some cards, harvesting, or fighting monsters in the caves, this game keeps you occupied with many different options with no clock keeping you in check. I constantly check on the steam page for updates and I think the dev is doing a great job with releases. The game doesn't feel clunky and plays nice. The art style and animation are very appealing.

I recommend this game if you are looking for a lot of different things to do in one video game with nice music, art-style, and a decent amount of content for where the game is at right now.

Maybe I'm missing something but there is nothing about this game that sets it apart from other EA open world survival craft games out there right now. It's so boring and has zero personality. All of the assets are unoriginal. I have to collect wood, stone, and berries? Why am I motivated to do that in your game when I can do that in a billion others. I wish a survival game like this had more story too. It's just TOO open. There's no plot at all, just a couple of notes left behind by travelers long gone. Yawn, that's been done in so many other survival games (Raft, ARK to name a few) and it leaves a lot to be desired.

Just chopping down trees for wood, hitting rocks for limestone, then building houses. But for what purpose? There doesn't seem to be much "survival" that has to happen. There is no food or thirst bar, just a health bar that only shows up in dungeons or mines. Just procedurally generated dungeons with no loot other than the same materials I can grind for. I played this for 20 minutes and I'm so bored already. I love crafting and building for the sake of building but there has to be SOME kind of goal or progression going on. I wanted to give this a shot because of all the positive reviews but it is way too empty to have any fun with. Definitely not worth the money in its current stage!

tjr2882

This game scratches an itch that I have had for a survival adventure game. The art Style is nice and not hard on the eyes. Some of the controls and feel a little clunky, and the crafting is also a little lacking to me. But hey, I'm just an old gamer. what do I know.

Even though it is an early assess game, it's graphic and stability is very good. The fishing update add a lot of life to the game. It would be more user friendly if there are option to have some instruction to the control of all the necessary movements or a map of the island. I wish there are more live object such as animal, villagers in the area.

The game lacks content and progression, im aware its early access, but for that price, btw higher then both Valheim and V rising both which are packed with content, it should be in a good state.
This is a game worth about 5€ but costs 4x that. Would not recommend at all in its current state, seeing the speed of progression, it will take years before its even close to give any value to the game price.

Not sure if there's a multiplayer feature in the game (yet?), but nonetheless I really love this game. Current hyperfixation. I'd consider myself mid-game but it's still enjoyable whereas other games get boring around this point. Still having fun and I can't wait to see what's next.

A good simple game. I can't wait to see where it goes.
I wish there was more point to building houses, like maybe a buff for having gone to a nice comfy home. I also wish you could build in a few places in the cave. Item interaction would be nice too...
The combat is fluid I rarely feel it is to hard or unfair. I'm stuck right now but there is stuff I can improve that will help me. If you die loose every thing since you last save. You can get it back but if you die again it seems to be lost forever.
The farming could use a harvest all option and the fishing is far too slow right now.
I hope the NPCs get more added to them. I can see spending about 50 hours in the current game, as it is but a few tweaks to give a reason to keep playing could keep me in a lot longer.
Minor improvements is all it needs but the base game is solid.

Sabertooth

HIGHLY recommend this game, it has a lot of potential. I have over 60 hours now (already got my money's worth tbh) and there is so much more that I want to do. It has a nice mix of farming and fighting which is my favorite aspect of the game and it is very beautiful and life on the island even adds to the beauty even more ( Like the butterflies, fish ripples, birds and they are adding foxes and more? Can't wait!). You can do whatever you want and take however long you want to take, nothing is forced on you and there are no timed events, very relaxing and you can play at your own pace.

There is a lot of polishing that needs to be done and lot of things to be added but it is in Early Access so there is more to come and I am very excited for that. Plus the team constantly keeps us informed and communicates with us. Buy it and you won't regret, and you will love the future updates as well (hopefully) :)

It's hard to explain, but game is weirdly addictive.

Pandalorian

The game is a bit too cumbersome to actually be fun, even for the survivalcraft genre.

First, the inventory/tool slots are too limited. You start with 4 utility slots in which you can add items such as your weapons or tools, or you can add food. To consume food and regenerate health, it MUST be added to the tool slot. You cannot eat from your inventory. This means one of your slots will be taken up by food, leaving you only 3 others to equip your sword, axe, pickaxe, torch, shield, watering can, great axe, warhammer, etc... To make it even worse (and this part makes absolutely NO sense), you cannot equip tools/weapons unless you are standing in front of a toolchest or your crafting station. Did you accidentally drag the blueberries in the slot your axe was in because you needed to eat and refill your stamina? Too bad! Now you have to run back to your camp in order to re-equip your axe.

Next, the town is pretty much useless. It exists only to give the facade of an economy in game, and it is a very thin facade. There isn't much (early game at least) to buy.

The dungeons are pretty bad too. There is no saving the game inside one. If you spend two hours in one getting your mining grind on and die or suffer a crash, your time is gone. Not only that, but they make "Light stones" a required component for crafting, and it's way too deep in these dungeons.

All in all, the game isn't balanced and isn't fun at the moment. There are others of this genre that have more polish and a comparable price tag. This is still in early access, so hopefully the devs make some much-needed improvements.

Ah this game just scratches that itch for me. Growing up one of my FAVORITE games was Harvest Moon and aside from Stardew Valley there has not been many options, this game though it really just made everything come back for me, it doesnt have the love aspect but if this game gets enough support i could see this game getting as popular as Stardew Vally and maybe even more so. The gameplay is so addicting along with the soundtrack it just puts a smile on my face, im not rushed to do anything no missions really just exploring and building a little home. This game is a solid 8/10 for me i will CONSTANTLY be checking for updates and seeing how far the devs go with his game because trust me this game is a GEM in the making. Thanks

To be honest I don't understand why people like this game, maybe I'm missing something... it's just another survival game (and i love them) but there are hundreds of them with similar or better mechanics and the game is not particularly pretty either. Some people talk about farming mechanics or fishing... both of them are really tedious. The town feels really empty and the only dungeon is not too long neither. Combat is frustrating.
Music was nice. I would advise watching a game play first to make your mind before buying. Anyways I will wait for the final release of the game, maybe they add a story or more content. If that's the case i will update the review, don't want to be so harsh with this game just it seems so empty to me. You have lot of finished survival games far more fun to play stardew valley, raft, ark, etc than the current state of this game.

It's beautiful. It's nice in the overworld. But the dungeon? There's one thing that made me HATE the entire game with a passion.

Because once you have got some gear, you can explore it relatively easily. But it's big, there is absolutely no quick travel INTO the dungeon, only out of it, and there is no way to save without leaving, so if you dont want to waste 90% of your play time with traveling on foot through the same stupid caves, you need to make long runs without saving. You might very occasionally die if you made an error, which is really annoying because you have to run forever from the start to where you were to pick up all the stuff you collected. Annoying, but still barely ok.

But then suddenly there comes a challenge room - something you cannot leave from until all enemies are defeated - and while everywhere else was simple, suddenly it's impossible. There's two big brawlers in there and three small lighting monsters, some kinda dark shrimp or something. Those three attack often, all at once, they stun you, and channel. To survive even one hit from those three requires luck. Two and you are definitely down, because they burn through all your health in about a second.

In addition to those three instant death mobs, there are aforementioned two big brawlers AND the room has lots of dart traps to step on. It's impossible to kill even a single mob before you're dead. Now all the loot from your hours-long expedition? It's trapped in that room. You cannot get it back unless you can kill them all, and it's impossible to kill even one of them. But it's hours of work. So you run, forever and ever, back until you're there again. And again die instantly. And you run back again. And die. And run, And die. And run, And die. Each trip back takes forever, because no quick travel. So you run five minutes through boring caves, and die in two seconds, and run for five minutes, and run, and run, and run, and run, and run, and run, and run.... You'll never get your stuff back. You might, after 10 or 12 more hours grinding in the overworld, at which point it will have despawned anyway. And you'll be so frustrated you'll have thoughts about the creators you really shouldn't have, because they're decidedly unkind.

It's a single fault in level design, you might say. If you know it, just avoid it, and everything is fine, you'll say. But the only reason a single fault in level design could ruin my day are the bigger flaws in the game concept. No save points AND no fast travel in the dungeon force a choice between single, long expeditions where losing a whole gaming day is possible or wasting a giant amount of time on playing a walking simulator by constantly running back - or teleporting back - and running in again. That's just bad design.

In the end, I just don't trust this game anymore. When will the next time be where the game destroys hours of work without any warning, any way to avoid it or rectify it? This has ruined the whole gaming session today. I do not want to play a game where that is a risk I have to take. Unless you want to, stay away from this.

I'm a lifetime gamer--and I love survival games.

That being said, this game seems really well polished, but after 5 hours or playing, I wasn't hooked on the progression system, the story (no story), or any other possible hook.

Music was nice, systems are what you've seen in most survival games, but it's just very vanilla without something to sink your teeth into it. Maybe that will come as a story is released---maybe not. Like the new fishing system: it exists--but is it fun? After a few fish I realized it wasn't fun at all.

Anyway! Still they did a good job with the fundamentals, and I expect it to be a great game after some development.

Frustrating, boring and annoying game. No game mechanics are explained. Most of them make no sense. There is absolutely no guide or explanation. And no justification. There is neither map, nor minimap, nor radar. No map in an exploration game! There are lots of such a "surprising" game desgin ideas here.
Combat is a mess. Most of the time you can't see a thing what is happening in the combat. Add to this such feature that you have to notice a que for a critical hit. Fighting in a dungeon with multiple enemies is just a blind clicking all around.
There is just too much wrong about this game. Another piece of trash in a pile of wannabe "survival" games.

Negatives:
- You are not allowed to place the bed.
- Following the bridge teleports you onto a lonley island.
- The fantastic music isn't always playing. I miss it so much when it's gone. Cry.
- It's unfair to make such a nice looking game.
- It didn't tell me what to do. Where is my handholding? I feel lost without having a pupose. Wherever I went I felt like I wasn't supposed to be there yet. :D

Lens Island is awesome after the 5 hour mark, at first I was going to refund it. Something told me to cancel my request and power through after all it wasn't $60. I am glad I did so; you create and indulge in your own world and can't wait for what they create next. It truly feels like a piece of paradise with survival that isn't too obnoxious and building not impossible. Most games make you feel like investing 25+ hours just to build your house but Len's Island lets you do that and more.

This one is right on the line. It's beautiful, and the building system works well, right up until you start trying to furnish your house. I found the controls awkward in WASD mode, and confusing in mouse mode, but it looks like a game that would be great with controller support. I think a more traditional inventory system would help as well. It does feel like a labor of love, but it still needs a lot more work to feel like a complete experience. I'm going to recommend it in the hopes that enough support will take this game over the finish line.

Liberto

Sadly, I have to give the game a thumbs down.

Why I feel bad about giving it a thumbs down:
The game has huge potential. I like the idea, I love the aesthetics.

But in my opinion the game has two massive design flaws when it comes to movement and interacting with the environement.
1. There is no point-and-click movement.
You have to hold down the right mouse button all the time! I found that really exhausting after a very short period of time. If the devs don't want to implement the point-and-click movement (maybe complicated due to pathfinding issues?), they should at least implement an "auto run" button, so that the character follows the cursor without holding down the mouse button.
2. You can swing weapons and tools into the "emptiness".
If you hit "attack/interact" the character will attack, even though there is nothing to attack or to gather. A reason for this behaviour might lie in the fact that you run with right click, and attack/interact with left click. So, what should happen if you left-click in the emptiness? Well, in other games you would run to that position, but that not possible in this game because of reason Nr. 1.

So, the devs decided to break with the movement and interacting design of games like Diablo, but in this case definitely for the worse. Maybe there are reasons for it, but I don't like the current state.

Besides those two reasons the game significantly lacks content, even for an early access game - but it is not that bad. I would not have refunded the game if it wasn't for the other reasons mentioned above.

I hope the game will be a success, because I really like the idea and the team behind this project it seems to be nice. I will definitely keep an eye on the game, but I doubt that my desired changes will be made, as they are pretty fundamental.

even though i knew i would'nt play without a controller, i bought game because it was on sale and controller support was ''3-5 weeks away''.
2 months later, still no controller support and steam refuse a refund. Dont really blame steam, they have their rules, yet cant shake feeling i'm in the right.
maybe i'll update review if controller support ever arrives, but expectations will be starting from a far lower place

I find it to be calming, and not annoying - not a lot of guidance, but at the same time that lends well to the discovery that you're obviously here for. You get Minecrafted - just start somewhere with no idea what or how or etc - and do stuff. Not a lot of dialogue which right now I prefer in games; the focus is good.

I haven't looked into how to look around yet, as the camera position is fixed. That's a *bit annoying*. Otherwise, I'm totally happy with this game so far.

It's a really addicting and great game, there are so many things you can do in this game, you want to become a farmer and live peacefully? you want to be an adventurer and conquer the dungeon? you want to build your dream home and even the whole village? anything... there is nothing you can not do in this game.

Highly recommended!!!!

Fixed view from above makes this game frustrating to play - actually it's not just frustrating, I can't play it without being able to look around and zoom in and out at will. I'm really sorry that the developers have decided that this is how they want the game to be, because this would have been a perfect game for me - peaceful and beautiful, with fighting only an option when and if I choose.

I will start off by saying this isn't a game for everyone , but if you like a game that is grindy then yeah you may like it. Has a increase dmg element where you need to time click to make more damage . The clicks aren't the same for every weapon/tool so can be hard to get it right , but not necessary to hit it only improves the dmg a little bit over the tool dmg. Also has specialty weapons/tools that has buffs to speed or damage or resource collection.

You need to eat or it starts doing hp reduction but you can gather or grow the food . Still its not like its a survival game since it takes so long before you lose health.

The building is forgiving if you misplace it or want to rebuild you dont lose the resources if you tear it down.

overall im having fun grinding away haven't run into any bugs so far and the game loads pretty quick whether it continues to load quick when the file gets bigger dont know

WHO EVER DECIDED TO MAKE YOU LOOSE ALL YOUR MATERIALS ON DEATH, AND NOT BE ABLE TO STORE ANYTHING SHOULD BE FIRED, WHAT AWFUL GAME DESIGN.

yeah, you can't store any of your materials, getting rocks, iron, money, food and metals are a MASSIVE grind to get anything done, and if you die, it's GONE. you cannot go pick it back up, it's just GONE. also they throw 30-50+ enemies at you ALL AT ONCE, so dying in those situations is almost guaranteed.

there isnt even armor to lessen the damage they do except for a crappy shield that blocks like 10% damage, which in this game is like .5 damage lmao, who the hell thought this was a good idea???????

spend an hour in the dungeon, getting nearly full and suddenly some walls of light block you off in a tiny room with 4 mob spawners. what are you supposed to do?!?!

god i wanna give this game a good rating but these death mechanics are not fun, at least make it so on death you drop like 70% of your stuff and it can be retrieved.

I WAS addicted to this game, but the death mechanics kill all fun.

Great game with a lot of potential. I finished it in under 10 hours but enjoyed that time and can definitely spend more time building and gathering.

If you want an enjoyable game and to support the developer at this early stage for future content and updates, I can recommend you buy now, trial it, and come back in the future when more content is added.

Serobaro

The game currently has only 1 "dungeon", which is really big. It takes several times to go there and clear it. There is no map in the game so far, which I liked, since it felt like I'm really discovering stuff there. The building system is super fun and easy. The combat part is interesting as well, there is a critical strike window in each movement, that makes combat more enjoyable. This window is different for most weapons. The game had a nice relaxing atmosphere on the surface, and a darker one in the dungeon. The game currently has 1 city where you can interact with NPCs, buy and sell stuff that you looted in the dungeon or grew in your farm.
All in all I would recommend this game for you if you like survival/adventure type games, I had a great time with it.

Lots of content in some areas of the game, other areas like the clothing and backpack shop had barely any. Overall though, this is VERY MUCH worth $25. The graphics are the best out of any game I've played and the sound design is THE BEST.

Scyth3

This game is sort of like a big brother to Stardew Valley with better graphics, minus the whole friendship/relationship grind. You have mining, dungeons, farming and so forth. The early grind does not even feel like a chore as the rewards are so...rewarding :-) Settle in for a long play, the good stuff takes time to obtain.

Loving this game!

Perfect chilled out RPG. From the design elements to the soundtrack the games art direction is flawless. I havem't completed or finished exploring all the content but am keen to see the ongoing development by the team.

Only thing lacking so far are Quest's & further interaction with the townspeople. Expanding on this and the worlds lore is all I find missing.

Highly Recommend!

I would preface my review by saying that im usually not the type of person to leave reviews and even less negatives ones over 14 years on steam, but the way the development and communication of the game is currently managed is a let down for me.

Wouldnt recommend as long as it is in early access, might be well worth it once it is fully released however. But as it stands communication towards the customers is non existent.

Features such as controller support are being promised and teased and then delayed for two weeks over 5 months, in the end a discord poll that is not mentioned anywhere on the steam page or forums asks if that feature should be low/mid priority so fishing can take priority over it for the next update.

Peoples pro-actively following a discord are more likely to be the few to engage with the game in its current state and hence wanting new content. For me that translates into a lack of focus and clear vision of the development for their whole customer base.

The base of the game is great and would wish it success. I even went to the discord server to highlight this lack of communication but a week after there is no signs of the developers on steam and that convince me that this title should be avoided until further development and features to see if the team will keep up with their promises.

Spent a great amount a time at its release (about 100hrs !) and never went back to it yet because nothing meaningful has been achieved since then (October 2021).

One last note, the early access "About" is overly outdated, with a great amount of early sales the studio did hire a team and have its studio so im not giving it a pass for these reasons.

READ BEFORE YOU BUY!

This game does not have any kind of map or mini-map, - you are going completely blindly. It was originally in the road map to be implemented later, however, in a recent YouTube post the dev said his game is too small and adding a map would reduce gameplay time drastically to about 1/5th, which means he wants you to wander around in 80% of your playtime trying to find your way. He also said he has no intention to add a map, which is completely going back on his word he gave in the road map months ago. Do not trust this dev!

I realize this might not be a big issue for everyone, however, I believe the conventions of this game genre require the existence of a map, as it goes without saying in most other games. The fact that the lack of it is not pointed out anywhere makes this game a scam in my personal opinion. The only reason I can't refund this game now is that I'm out of the 2 weeks within which this is possible, BECAUSE I've been waiting on a promised map that the dev just canceled very recently with an utterly unreasonable explanation.

Not a lot to do. I just bounce back and fourth between my farm gathering food so I can heal and going back into the same dungeon over and over again. You craft gear that gives you slightly better attack abilities which let's you get a litter further in the dungeon but it's a pretty short game loop. There are villagers but they are less compelling then their carts where you buy and sell goods.

I like the game but it isn't worth the price. It has a lot of similar things to Stardew Valley but it doesn't have as many layers. I believe it's still in the early stages though but the price should be around $10 for this version of the game.

While due to it still being in Early Access there is lack of definitive gameplay plotwise, I did not find myself bored or at a lack of things to do in the 7 Hours I played after downloading the game. Even just the act of gathering material to customize my home was enjoyable, and the calm beautiful music accompanying made it that much better. Cannot wait to see where this goes.

I really enjoyed playing Len's Island and recommend it to everyone. Len's Island is a fun way to build your perfect little island paradise with some cave exploring thrown in. Len's Island was brought only cause my wife wanted some adventurous and simulation like game, with elements of survivor. She didnt play too much, hers comment was "its pretty and relaxing game", she left it to me to explore what this gem have in the core.

+ Game is relaxing and pretty indeed, with elements of simulation, building and crafting, managerial as much as can be, as part of adventurous game there are caves, dungeons, enemies, u have weapons and armors, which gives vibe of RPG element. Great time killer!

(-) There is plenty of room to progress, game as itself is unfinished, and hope it will be soon, cause potential is tremendous!

Good idea and execution but not enough in the game. 1 cave, 1 town, a tiny island, thats about it so far. Doesnt take long to explore everywhere, build a house, find the only cave, get marginally better weapons..then what? Theres nothing else.

**edit**
To be crystal clear. This is an early access game. There is not enough content even for an early access title. Maybe 4 hours of content tops. Not good enough. Like I said, good idea, but there should be more actual game made before release.

Do not buy YET. Too expensive for whats there, and whats there isn't enough for an EA game, which has no guarantee of ever actually being finished.

lphusa

So far I have enjoyed this game. Since it is an early access I'm not sure if certain parts of the game are inaccessible because they are being developed or if I still need to earn an achievment to open certain mines or bridges. So far I've explored the whole island, beaten both the mine south of my camp as well as the one next to my camp and established two home bases. I can see there is a lot of potential for this to be an extremely immersive game. However, the graphics can be can be cleaned up a bit and can sometimes be a little glitchy. And the one detractor is that there is no way to customize your characters beyond the basics. Overall if you enjoyed games like Harvest Moon, Stardew Valley, Hokko Life or My time at Portia you might find this game interesting. I've played this game for 37 hours and have almost completed all of the achievments, so I look forward to seeing what comes next in the following updates.....no pressure.

TheRealCypria
TheRealCypria

Ok, I will recommend it because this game has potential! I am 12 hours in game, almost nothing left to achieve, or explore! It was a short fun. Graphics are good, music is nice... Just it could be so much more with the gameplay... I don't want to stop you buying it,, but I don't want you to feel disappointed either...

Anonymous

So far its looking great. The combat mechanics are good, wood chopping and stone picking are good as well, like it takes an appropriate amount of time to chop a tree down. I also like how there is no mini map, keep that up, the exploration of the island is a huge part of the gameplay.

Considering what this game is today I can't wait to see what the big update at the end of the year brings. There is a youtube video where the developer goes through all the upcoming additions to the game and it is a lot. Fishing is here now though, and appears to be a solid mini game! When more content is added to this game it will be a monster. I don't care for multiplayer or online gameplay. Just bring me some NPCs with personality and never ending quests and consistently new upgradable tools and things.

I'm only 12 hours in but its been a fun 12 hours. the music and art are terrific as well. It is not a complete game but if you dig building a sweet cabin on an island then get after it.

This game will be on par with the other top farming sim open world games that you love. Why not be an early adopter?

I bet that this game does better than Palia

I wanted to wait to post this review but its been since the end of November/December since I had this game.

The positive I have to say is the graphics and music are amazing. I like the game play overall. This game has so much potential.
However, there is no map and not enough to do unless you count doing the same things over and over again. The NPCS are also very dull.

I'm hoping in later updates there are more things to do. Also I hope for a map (I have trouble with directions)

thinkinTom

Len's Island in it's current state of Early Access, is a very good game. Though there are still updates to come, it is a very playable game. Updates may take a while though, as this is a one man developer, so ignore those people that tell you the game is dead. Far from dead, the developer is answering players questions in the steam forums, which is a good thing.

This game offers you a peaceful and tranquil environment to explore and develop your character, no danger exists on the island, or I should say Islands, since there is more than one. However if your looking for nasty critters to fight, there are nasty creatures living in the caves and old mines underground. Oops, sorry there is one island with critters on it to fight, but not many.

What's great about all this is that you can make a choice, either brave the dangers underground, or, you can explore the surface and gather resources at your leisure, no pressure to get things done.
Lastly, I wish more devs would think this way, when making their games. Len's Island is a true gem among games and I highly recommend getting this.

Made a video of first impressions of the game. For a game in Early Access, this game immediately hits the spot.

Pretty cool. Would love to see it expanded, like the wood cottage and the fisherman's cottage; would love to see those filled. This game is really lush and for an early access game I think it's done really well. Something I'd like to see in the future is multiplayer, even if it's just a 2-player co-op kinda thing. I've not tried yet, but I imagine the controller controls wouldn't be amazing just from the layout of the PC controls, but I think this is definitely the kind of game you'd want to play with a controller. Ideally this is a game I'd get on Switch, maybe one day I'll be able to or I'll by a Steam Deck.

I am downvoting this only because there is not much to do in its current state. For $20, which I got on sale btw, there is not enough things to do to justify the price point at this time. The game is great however and is full of potential. The music is relaxing, the graphics are pretty and I really like the building and crafting system. Once this game hits either late development or fully released, this game will be AMAZING and worth every penny but I do not recommend it at this time for this price.

I am looking forward to when it gets fully released and will be keeping my eye on this game.

so far ive only got 3hours in and im a fan, the building is awesome i like how you can switch between wood stone and other matrials.
the camera angle is taking me alot to get used to, an option to switch it to first person and or make it mouse moveable would make it even better but that my personal preference tho.

if you want to fight monsters you can go underground and fight till you tired
and to just roam around and build without the harresment of monsters above ground is even better
so far am a big fan of this game and its stil in EA, the Developers/mods are quick to answer questions in their discord which is also a huge plus, i cant wait to see where this game goes and how it evolves as time goes on.
