The game is alright. I managed to beat one of the scenarios surprisingly. Seems like a meme game fif basin' that off the other Steam reviews is any indication lol. Not too bad for 2 bucks.

Borderline trash. The audio levels are beyond terribly mixed. Music will blow you ears out then the footsteps are 5x louder than everything else but you cant change the audio separately for each type of source. Unfortunately it is unplayable for me from the loud footsteps alone I shit you not. Just a bit more love and it would be a decent meme game where you just kill lizards to dope music but it didn't translate well and looks way cooler in the store photos. It also is unnecessarily choppy at times for how basic the graphics are.

So, I was all hyped up for this game, thanks to the unbelievably positive reviews. At the time of writing this, there is only one negative review.

But, hey, within the first 10 seconds of playing, I was already disappointed by the outdated and unappealing user interface (UI) of the game. It feels completely out of touch with the year 2023. Well, actually it's not that bad. The game is cheap tho, and one shouldn't judge a book by its cover. Maybe the gameplay would make up for it? Well, I was wrong.

The gameplay is a total letdown, it felt rather lackluster and uninspired. I couldn't derive any enjoyment from the few minutes I spent playing the game. The combat mechanics left much to be desired, and the storyline gave off an unsettling cult-like vibe, which was simply not my cup of tea. While being part of a cult can sometimes be amusing, this game just gives me the creeps.

Now I have learned that 'overwhelmingly positive reviews' isn't always a reliable measure of quality. You can give the game a try, though I will be requesting a refund.

This is exactly how things happened, Russian history books never lie.

In all seriousness, though, I would not mind a proper action RPG based on this or at least in the same setting. I mean, theoretically, you could even add more NPC and dialogues to an existing game, but I would prefer a relatively big world, where you can explore stuff, and perhaps even explore the culture of the Lizards among other things.
Actually, back in 2020 I had some notes inspired by https://farfargames.com/ which were based on Kiev's Rus mythology and real-life geography. It had "nonhumans", so they could be replaced by Lizards, I guess. Notes can be found on https://www.simbiat.dev/talks/threads/395/ if anyone is interested (in Russian).

Это наша история!

Плюсы : Хорошая игра, здесь каждый найдет что-то для себя.

Минусы Хотя боевка неплохая, но ОЧЕНЬ не хватает чувство импакта от ударов, нужно хоть какие-нибудь звуки добавить

In the realm of gaming, where tales of valor and quests of unparalleled grandeur unfold, one title stands as a beacon of unadulterated brilliance: "Lizards Must Die." Permit me, noble denizens of the gaming world, to sing praises of this legendary masterpiece that has enraptured our souls and ignited the flames of epic adventures within our hearts.

From the very moment one embarks on this daring escapade, the opulent tapestry of its immersive world unfurls before one's eyes. The richly detailed landscapes, resplendent in their intricacy, transport players to an enchanted realm where lizards of nefarious disposition threaten the very balance of existence. The sheer artistry that has gone into crafting this fantastical world is nothing short of awe-inspiring.

The gameplay itself is a symphony of perfection. As you, the valiant protagonist, step into the shoes of a gallant hero, armed with the mightiest of weapons and imbued with unyielding resolve, the fate of the realm rests squarely on your shoulders. The challenges that beset you are as varied as they are exhilarating, each encounter a test of strategy, skill, and mettle. "Lizards Must Die" is an orchestration of gaming brilliance, where the crescendo of each battle quickens the pulse and quickens the spirit.

But what truly sets this legendary game apart is its narrative tapestry. The storytelling is nothing short of a magnum opus, weaving together a tapestry of emotions that resonate deeply within the recesses of one's soul. The characters, endowed with rich backstories and motivations, spring to life in such a way that one cannot help but become emotionally entangled in their struggles and triumphs.

The symphonic score, an auditory masterpiece in its own right, weaves a melody that tugs at the heartstrings, accentuating every dramatic twist and momentous revelation. It is a soundtrack that lingers in the mind long after the controller is set aside, a testament to the game's enduring impact.

In conclusion, "Lizards Must Die" stands as a paragon of virtuosity in the world of gaming. It is a testament to the boundless possibilities of storytelling, gameplay, and artistic vision. This legendary title has not only carved its name into the annals of gaming history but has etched itself into the very core of our gaming souls. It is a work of sublime genius that shall be celebrated for generations to come, a testament to the inexhaustible magic that can be found within the realm of gaming.

It's loud (but you can adjust the volume), janky, and the 'voice acting' and translations are a crime against humanity. The story is dismal, the strategy is rather non-existent, and it is bad...gloriously bad in the most entertaining way!

It's a small-team passion project, and their love of fun shines in this game (at least the English version...the Russian version may come off quite differently).

There are several maps (Lizard Men and, my favorite, Aliens) and settings, some minimal variation to available powers, and a very linear progression through the various encounters.

For the price, and for the bad 80s movie vibe, I truly can suggest it as long as you understand what you're getting and getting in to.

Also, for the achievement hunters out there: this one should be easy pickings with a few sessions.

I was partially excited about this because it was from the same think tank of the Dr. Livesey Rom & Death Edition game. Unfortunately this game doesn't quite accomplish the same charm. I will give credit where credit is due, I did myself laughing at the intentional "so bad, it's good" production and jokes, but I was also hoping for a nice little hack and slash game. You do get multiple levels, three playable characters, and several power moves to use. Achievements are easily attainable if you're into that. There's even aliens from outer space.

The game blasts Phonk like nobodies business, but it doesn't have the musical timing that Dr. Livesey had. It's core gameplay isn't that fun either. Reason being is that there's no weight or challenge to the combat. Dr. Livesey had gunplay that matched the feel of the music. I bring up Dr. Livesey because that's an example of a meme game done right. Lizards Must Die is like a bad piece of gum that loses it's way too quickly.

Don't get me wrong, I wanted to love Lizards Must Die, and I'm not averted by some jank, but I just wasn't having fun, and games like this, at bare minimum, should be fun to play. It's Rus warriors fight giant lizards. If game is updated amd p
