SUMMARY

Get me out of this train-wreck sniper sim.

With brain-dead AI that fires into walls, awful gunplay mechanics that lack any sort of punch of authenticity, with limited, linear maps, which are insanely glitchy and ugly, and a snails pace, this game offers absolutely nothing that other sniper games don't already offer.

You have to apprecite this game for what it is. It is not a game for realism it is a shooter and a stealth game. I gets exspecialy good when you first get into the desert. It is an old game that has aged well. Yes it is fun to critisive it for its one lines. cooper=" Their is a peice of a suit here, the blood is still damp" or "what are two heavily armed white guys doing in the jungle?"

I played this game back when i didnt have online...Those were the days.

It was really good back then simply because of two reasons...the rainy whether and the music...the music is beast in my opinion ...other then that nothing psecial..i bought so i can hear the music again.

This game is such an upset. I've played Marine Sharpshooter on Xbox 360 and its graphics were enough to enjoy. The graphics in this game makes me feel like I am back playing on the original xbox. Such a waste of money for a p!ssy game.

I actually kind of liked it, it may seem like a bad game to some, but it brings me back to the old days.

I had 87p on my account so I decided to play this great looking game.

WOW!

First of all, this is amazing.
The realism is incredible! I really felt like the action was happening in my living room! No VR headset was on during this i have to add.

As I was playing it, I managed to completely destroy some black people that were completely oblivious to my presence, which made it much, much easier. It really felt like i was killing people. I thought about their family as I imagined them dying. I have to visualize the kill before commiting to it, so that was a hard task. After playing this game, I did no longer feel like I had to shoot children to compensate my hate for humanity. This is the best 59p I have ever spend. Thank Myself for this beautiful piece of software engineering.

Many game developers could learn a lesson or two from playing this game.

I would recommend this game for anyone that feels like shooting up a school. Even an office. Or a small shop maybe?

You could also go to the shop and support them by spending 59p on a chocolate bar. It will probably taste better.

TL;DR: Don't buy this. It is trash. Try it though. It's actually really bad.

Going to keep this brief: The game is janky, and pressing the spacebar takes a screenshot for Steam. If the people porting this game aren't going to put a lot of care into the product, then why should I put a lot of care into this review? It's not like you're missing much anyways. It's a bland sniper game with little thought and character. Don't bother.

This title is one of astounding achievements to grace the Earth, and clearly, the developers were inspired by some sort of divine intervention because there is no other plausible explanation for this masterpiece. The beginning starts out slow but it gets rapidly better as the game moves on.

The story is simply amazing! Allow me to give you the rundown just so you can hear about it in case you don't buy!

Meet Jack "Rambo Stereotypical American Bad Voice Acting Soldier Guy with big gun" Bauer, a Russian-American Sniper Elite originally trained by America's Delta Force and the Navy Seals, and while he was going to join with Delta Force as one of its most elite marksman, the joint chiefs saw a brighter future than even so for him. And so the joint chiefs created an entirely seperate unit for Bauer and another elite soldier, Sergeant Jack Daniels Cooper, someone so well trained and rehearsed in the art of marksmanship that he can't actually hit anything! In fact he is so powerful and elite that he weakens the 7.62 rounds he fires out of his M14 to the strength equivalent of tossing dog excretions at a M1 Abrams battle tank! Together, he and Jack Bauer journey to the jungle of Africa where they attempt to rescue the President of Africa! Now, on their mission to save the president of Africa, they must remain unseen ghosts in the night or they will be destroyed...but then they realised that their enemies couldn't hit sh1t and proceeded to terminate half the population of Africa under the ROE. Eventually after killing every else blah blah blah, some German Mecenaries etc. etc. etc. bang bang pew Murica n' stuff idk pow pow.... they finally rescued the president of Africa! But then realised that they murdered 90% of Africa and seemed to have not followed the ROE to any extent. Oh, and also Sgt. Cooper and Jack Bauer had their retinas explode due the amazing -4k graphic fidelity of the game they were in. Oh, and Cooper also was reincarnated 1,000,000,000,000 times after being riddle with approximately 999,999,999,999,999 AK-47 rounds after refusing to open fire 1,000,001032914239818092748013784912 times after being named as the slowest man in the world. So slow that his and every other enemy's legs move faster than they are actually going. Um......something something MURICA.....uhhhh...I'm thinking....ohhhh...I forgot -also the world explodes and they fall into an alternate universe where they become Space Marine Sharpshooter {repeat Story with sci-fi details} um...also empenadas! Seriously....don't buy this game...it's not worth 99 cents....its not worth the braincells you expend to play it....-10/10 would spotter again
Did I mension how many African rebels you kill on your way...literally over four hundred...there is no stealth factor at all unless you mean those braindead AI who stare at you for 5 seconds before processing you going to kill them.

I've played Marine Sharpshooter 1, 2, and 3 (not 4 because i didnt even know it existed until 2 years ago) and i've gotta say, out of all 3 i like this one the most. No, its not a good game and i wouldnt recommend you buy this unless its on sale like it is as im writing this review, the AI is terrible, they run at you and sometimes completely ignore you, they are also very inaccurate. the one thing they improved on from the first game was the spotter, in the original game the spotter is about as bad as your enemies, he even gets in front of your scope sometimes as you pull the trigger causing you to kill him and fail the mission, but they fixed that in this game which is a plus i guess. All in all its fun but only if you play it in small sessions and if you can get pass some of the games faults.

a good game but I wish I didn't have a spotter he only gets himself killed He can't seem to kill anyone else except himself. Useless and a liability

This game is not working, it says it is "running" but all I have is a black screen? Also, I have to exit steam to get out of the game! What is the issue with this game?

The title implies a Marine Sharpshooter 1, I'm scared to know what that game is. Hopefully its a clone of Combat for the Atari 2600, at least it would be fun to play and have the same level of graphical fidelity.

It's not that terrible. I mean, it's not a masterpiece either, so you can completely avoid this game, but it's not bad, and if you don't have any other sniper games, this can help you kill some time.

As per other reviewers I say that this game is poor with old graphics and boring repetitive missions.I knew what to expect as years ago I played 1 of the series.Should really be a free game but for its small cost not worth seeking a refund. The game was just tolerable however now when I go to snipe there are no crosshairs to aim with.So you have to position the enemy a certain way and your shot might hit them.Where is the fun in sniping withoutn crosshairs.Cheats are available for invincibilty, and weapons and ammo. Not sure if they work seem ok.Do not know if this crosshair issue has affected other users send me a message if so.Voice acting is ok for what you have to do.I give the game 2/10 and that is being generous.

Haha, it looks like very old grandfather of sniper ghost warrior 1 ːsteamfacepalmː
Every Jump is a screenshot! ːsteamfacepalmː
Graphic and resolution is old and bad. AI enemy is very stupid, very slow and easy to kill. (My spotter is also very slow and stupid too btw.) But sometimes they hit you with one shot and you're dead -if they are too close. Once my rifle scope crosshair was gone -restart :)
But i love sniper games, and it is a sniper uhm sharpshooter game.
1 buck... worth it for nostalgic fanatic snipers.

But if you are not a fanatic sniper player, don't buy it.

Not the worst Sniper game I played but still not very good. Game has no full hd support, enemy A.I. is not existant. I only played the first level (or a part of it) and everything looks the same, you always shoot the same dump enemies.

When I played the first mission I thought "well its not too bad like others said"
but then comes the second mission and after it , now the game begin from Ok to appalling fast and after finishing it I ain't feel satisfy nor regret, just empty feeling.

Map feels large than it should be, dumb enemy A.I, shooting with the M9 pistol feels like shooting with pallet gun with weird recoil animation, friend A.I that walks like a crab and numerous bugs that prevent the progress of the mission and etc.

the only good thing about this game is the first mission that plays well enough and the jungle design that looks cool for its time.

All in all a bad game, not terrible but not good either

When I bought this game I knew what I was getting into. Whole Marine Sharpshooter franchise is terrible, for some reason I wanted to play a bad game, so I did. I heard that MS 2 isn't all that bad, that it's the best of the franchise, it's the only game on Steam after all, so I gave it a try. To my surprise the game wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, but it still is far from a good game. Anyway game has 15 levels which are set in 4 "days" (That's how chapters/missions are called in this game I guess). Each day is quite different so I'll take a look at each day seperately and with each day what new I noticed. I played this game on hardest difficulty - "Marksman", to see how much "fun" can it be. Anyway there are tiny spoilers I guess, but game's story sucks, so I don't really ruin anything.

Day 1:

+ The level design is good enough. It's extremely linear, but
+ The shooting is pretty good.
+ Stealth kind of works. Crouching/crawling reduces shaking while aiming, but grass is so thick and high that I can't see anything through.
+ Soundtrack is good, best thing about this game. but for some reason it is always a few minutes late. But once the music starts it won't stop until you beat a level.
+ In one level you have a choice, there are two paths. And they are quite different, one is full of traps, the other is full of ambushes. Ussually in those low budget games both paths are almost indentical.

- In that level there you can choose a path: at the end of each path the sidekick says that it is the wrong path, so I guessed developers expected you to go all the way back and try the other path, but if you do so you'll run out of time (no indicators that it is timed) and sidekick will say that you lost the track... So mission failed and you have to repeat. Wow, this is unbelievable kick in the balls design.
- Reloading is so slow, you will die a lot if you are reloading while being attacked.
- The levels are huge, but you have quite short range, the game does not render much of a distance, which is huge flaw for a sniper game. At least, they use fog to hide rendering.
- Running is slow, way too slow, as mentioned the levels are huge, so you will feel the slow running speed.
- Bad hit detection, sometimes I hit when i shoud miss and sometimes I miss when i should hit. To make matters terrible you can't shoot through leaves and bushes.
- Pistol accuracy. You can't aim with pistol and corsshair gets so wide after everyshot. You have to shoot slowly if you want to hit someone.
- Sidekick is pretty useless. He spots enemies, but he only shoots them if they get very close.
- Huge lack of weapons, I could really use some grenades or SMG sometimes. I understand this is a sniper game, so no SMG, but grenades would've saved me a lot of trouble.
- The whole gameplay is so bland. You go through extremely linear level design, shoot a few guys or let them pass, go forward, repeat. I got used to it so fast, that game became extremely easy. That same gameplay lasted for 3 hours. It was somewhat fun, but so bland and repetitive.

Day 2:

+ For some reason your Sniper rifle is changed from M40a1 to M40a3 for the rest of the game. This is a good thing, because it has faster reload and has more ammo (M40a1 had 5 to M40a3 has 7 in a megazine)

- Enemies now has bigger health. The ones with bullet west are the worst, they can take 2 shots to headshot.
- Combat went real bad. Day 1 was all about stealth. Day 2 is plain combat, there are tons of soldiers everythere, yet I am supposed to deal with them only with pistol and a sniper rifle. The level design is really bad. So empty, there are lots of buildings of which none you can enter.

Day 3:

+ Back to jungle. Quite similar to Day 1.

- Worst escord mission ever. If you go too far from escort, he dies even though, there are no enemies around. When you get ambushed, he runs eihter to his hiding place which is in the middle of an open field (I know right) or he runs directly into the enemies... Yep, of course enemies can shoot him and if he dies mission failed. I swear developers made this to be torture. Guess what happens when you finnaly escord him. He is killed in the cutscene... What did you expect to happen after all this hard work?
- There's a place there game spawns infinite enemies and gives no warning. You are supposed to go forward.

Day 4:

+ I am impressed. The first two levels of day 4 are actually really good. The level design is good, features some actual design and not linear path only. I actually had a lot of fun playing through these 2 levels.

- 3rd level dropped balls. For gameplay it's just like most other levels, in the end you shoot one of two villains and that's it. The other villain escapes. You get the cutscene which is like any other mission briefing, you learn what the villain may be doing next and the credits start to roll. That was the worst cliffhanger ever, I have no interest in playing a sequel, for story, at least.

Overall this is a bad game, it is really bland and repetitive, I for most part I had somewhat fun which kept me continuing playing more, sometimes it was pure torture and sometimes it even was really fun to play, but all in all it sucks.
I cannot recommend this game to anyone unless you want to experience the early 2000s bad cash-grab shooters.

One of my childhood favorites. Although, this Steam release seems to be a bit buggy with the rifle scope not showing up when zooming in. Bugs aside, this is worth buying ONLY if you've played it before and want to relive old memories, or if you're into older, lower budget fps games. I used to have all Marine Sharpshooters 1-4 on disk years and years ago. Wish Steam would put up the other games in the series.

Jarhead Games at their finest. If you don't know this studio, it used to be a label company of Piranha games (Mechwarrior 5, Duke Nukem Forever console ports, Die Hard: Nakatomi plaza etc.) who pushed out a lot of budget low effort military shooters and hunting games in early 2000s up until they were shut down and the staff was integrated back into Piranha. As you can guess, their games were not good. They are the kind of games you find at your local mall or gamestop for a few bucks, play through once and then never touch them again.

This game is exactly this. The graphics are seriously bad even for 2004 (the game runs on an old version of Lithtech on top of that). Then you also have the sound design consisting entirely of royalty free gun sounds, AI that does nothing but stand in one place and shoot inaccurately, a main protagonist that never shuts up and keeps handholding you and extremely linear level design.

TLDR;
-Buggy as hell
-Extreme linearity
-Sound design
-Janky gunplay
-The environments look uneappealing

This is just the kind of game you should get only out of curiosity.

Marine Sharpshooter II: Jungle Warfare

Positives:
+ Its a sniper game, always a plus
+ gives the good b-game vibe
+ some of the missions are very entertaining, especially the ones that are not in the jungle
+ the satisfaction of hitting an enemy on long distances
+ reminds me of the good old delta force games
+ the last day is the most entertaining part of the game
+ its possible to play the night levels without nighvision activated

Negatives:
- some levels are narrower than they need to be
- linear, not so much freedome as the delta force games
- a few levels have parts with endless enemies
- the game has alot of bugs:
' you can get stuck in the terrain, and need to jump to get out
' when you jump you take a screenshot at the same time
' when you're underwater and in nightvision mode you cant see anything
' if you're changing resolution to f.ex. fullhd and 16:9 format, the last bottom half of the screen dissappears
' in 16:9 format you have to use the top dot in the sniperscope for aiming because of this

Well I have to say this game was a positive surprise.
When I played the game, it brought back memories of the good old delta force days.
Of course the game has it ups and downs, especially regarding the bugs.
But if you like sniping games like Delta Force, Sniper Ghost Warrior ect,
and have a weak point for low budget games, then play this game!

Total Score: 7/10

Okay, I admit, I'm hardheaded and a skeptic. I read all of the bad reviews, and I still had to try it. I remember playing this game back in 2009-2010, and I enjoyed it back then. Now? Well, all of the reviews citing linear gameplay, moronic AI, and a stupid and useless teammate are correct, but the deal breaker for me was not having crosshairs in the sniper scope. WHAT?? This is a f***ing sniper game, and there are no crosshairs? And from reading the reviews, this problem has been known for many years now. I had hoped it might be fixed by now, but nope. I'm amazed (and quite frankly, disappointed) that Steam allows this crap to be sold on their platform. NOT recommended. I only paid $2,99, but I'm requesting a refund. I hope my sad tale will help some misguided gamer hoping for a better outcome. Believe the reviews, pass on this one whatever the price, and find something better.

Nostalgia, most people might hating on it, but even until now I don't know why this game is so good. Dense forests, good soundtrack, the rifle is pretty punchy and it is satisfying to hit a target, even if they only flinch. And it is kinda hardcore too when you get spotted and locked on by the enemies, the only thing i hate in this game is the pistol lol.

Btw if you don't have sniper sight and missing radar, it's because of you are playing this game on modern system.

1. To fix this you must download dxwnd, it will fix most of your graphical issues, the downside is you will have wndowed mode borders when u play. But i dont really mind.
2. Disable steam overlay if you have space button to screenshot issue.
3. Lock fps to 30 or 45 to fix soundtrack issues, the cool beautiful soundtracks in this game should play whenever u spawn or at mission start. but it seems it's not working as intended on modern system! rather lock the fps or you can wait until the soundtrack appears by itself, usually plays per check point.

1000/10 from me, i remember playing this game alot in 2009, can't believe it's on steam. Maybe they should add World War II Sniper Call To Victory aswell here! i'll buy it. Oh these Groove Games.. really groovy!
