Just like gamers, I feel as if this game is unrightfully oppressed. People are only upset by it cause it has the metal gear name. Looking past that, and some minor flaws, this game is basically game of the year.

*edit, after completing the story i can said this game is worth "if" you have some survivalist energy in your deep souls, lol.
i think i love this survival mechanic or etc, kinda.

pretty good survival game, I had a good deal of fun with it. The Metal Gear name really holds it back IMO, I don't think this game would get nearly the same amount of flak if it was just a standalone game in the Fox Engine.

Poking zombies with long stick is fun

✧ 𝒯𝑅𝒜𝒮𝐻 ✧
✧ 𝒯𝑅𝒜𝒮𝐻 ✧

I'm very surprised I've ended up recommending this game. But, then again, you can tell by my hours played that I've at least given it a fair shot.

The first and most important thing to remember, in my mind, is that Metal Gear Survive is NOT a Metal Gear game, despite the title. Instead, it is a sci-fi dystopian resource-collecting zombie survival game with Metal Gear references, built upon the Metal Gear Solid V engine. Perhaps it could be thought of as a Metal Gear fan game from the developer and publisher of the Metal Gear games. An attempted, and failed, tribute to Hideo Kojima.

For those familiar with MGSV, Survive may be worth it because it brings back much of the same elements: perhaps shamelessly so! Reusing assets and map elements with minimal changes to adapt to the strange new storyline, which is perhaps weirder (though, of course, far less coherently/cohesively written) than the stories of Kojima himself. Weird in, like, a dumb and simple way, rather than a dumb and complex way, you know?

From the events at the end of MGSV: Ground Zeroes, with the destruction of Mother Base, the nameless main character (who you do get to name, but it makes no difference whatsoever) briefly gazes at Big Boss and Kaz flying off in their ill-fated helicopter before being sucked into another dimension via a wormhole to a land of zombies created from medical nanomachines called "Dread Dust", led by a very ugly kaiju-type boss character called the "Lord of Dust", seriously. With your trusty AI at your side and a cast of bland, characterless sidekicks - including sympathetic disabled child character, token woman character, comedy relief black guy character, gruff soldier character, and slightly-unhinged ambiguously foreign character - you must poke zombies with sticks and pick up assorted resources until you find your way home, which it turns out is the past, rather than a different dimension! And you can enjoy some of the blandest dialogue possible while you're doing it all.

Metal Gear Survive is a fun experience, perhaps in spite of the story or in part because of it. If you're the kind of person who likes hokey survival games with cringe storylines, it will be sure to give you a laugh or two, at least. In this way (and others), you could perhaps say it's a junk food game! And the thing about junk food is that it's still enjoyable, even if there are other experiences which are more nourishing and a better use of money. But, thanks to the recycling of existing resources and previous Metal Gear elements, Survive does surprisingly stand up on its own. In particular, Survive uses the engine and resources of MGSV, and borrows mechanics from MGS3, specifically in relation to needing food and healing materials to, ironically enough, survive.

In addition, the base-building elements from MGSV are modified and - to a certain extent - expanded upon. But it feels like Survive, for whatever reason, deliberately avoided use of past mechanics that would feasibly fit within the narrative of the game, and make it easier. Perhaps that's why they weren't included, but it does make the game feel non-committal: taking some elements from past titles it likes, while discarding others one would expect to include.

Speaking of, Survive feels like it doesn't necessarily even understand its own mechanics, to an extent: elements left over from MGSV are poorly or sparsely utilised, at least in the single-player campaign. For instance, player controls, environment navigation, and use of vehicles all appear, but are barely used at all. Even though the game has extensive tutorials, it leaves out instructions for many basic player actions which make the game easier. Certain actions, like aiming down ironsights, are left out from the control menu? Why? Further, there are certain odd technical design choices: for instance an inability to natively enable ultrawide resolution, though it can be very (and surprisingly) easy to activate using a hex editor. Also: always online? Again, why?

And on the note of items that irk me: I must also acknowledge Survive's gameplay model, which encourages constant replaying. While definitely not unique to Survive, and to a certain extent present in MGSV, Survive makes use of gameplay mechanics that reward frequent and consistent and long-term playing, with constant micro-attainments which make it hard for anyone with a "completionist" mindset to put the game down. There IS a solid conclusion to the single player, sure, but it's not a satisfying one; it's one that tempts you to keep playing, with the promise of better and rare materials, base upgrades, and challenges. I love post-completion content as much as the next person, but Survive feels like it draws from a nearly empty well to tempt players to stick around for the smallest of achievements, bonus points, and extra game elements.

While this is entirely subjective, I want my game to end when it has ended, and I want to know that I can put it down having experienced all it has to offer. Survive seems to strive for the worst of both worlds: the diversity of content is actually quite minimal; maps are small and variety is sparse, but it still has that extra, more powerful gun, those extra base construction elements, and post-game subclasses that take an age to level up and fully utilise. Further, the constant drive to get players to keep playing is further bolstered by the fact that NOT playing is of detriment: the more you leave the game along, the more you lose resources, need to heal and feed your squad mates, need to rebuild your structures. I did not expect this game to feel like taking care of military toddlers, nor for it to feel like a sci-fi dystopian resource-collecting zombie survival Animal Crossing, but here we are. Maybe if I had weeds to pull up and more capacity to control what my base looked like, it might have actually got me to stick around longer. But, then again, microtransactions. Fuck off, Konami.

A notable caveat I would add to this already-too-lengthy review is that I have not played with other people: the multiplayer certainly seems like a large draw for a lot of fans, often being mentioned in positive reviews; it seems like it could potentially be argued to be the "true" essence of Survive. But the fact that this is the case, the fact that a lot of multiplayer capability is only achieved after playing the single-player storyline, and the fact that the multiplayer in turn feeds into the singleplayer experience, makes it simultaneously more and less appealing. More appealing, because it means more Metal Gear Survive! Which is still a fun game. But less appealing because it means either playing with randos, trying to convince friends to play, or otherwise being subject to the whims of the near empty servers. Playing multiplayer could make the singleplayer experience more tolerable for the post-game, but I don't want to -have- to play multiplayer to experience those benefits.

All in all, despite the largely negative tone of this review, I do recommend Metal Gear Survive! But BARELY. If you're a Metal Gear fan, it'll make you appreciate Hideo Kojima and the main games all the more, while still at least somewhat scratching the itch to get back into the Fox Engine from MGSV and providing cameos and nostalgia snippets in the form of references and music tapes (which take an annoying amount of time to be able to play, and can't be played outside of bases?? Yet more poor design decisions). If you're not a Metal Gear fan, it'll maybe still scratch an itch for zombie survival silly-storied nonsense. And if you're not a Metal Gear fan or a zombie survival game fan? Well, I think I'd still recommend it, mainly for the master crafting of the game's technical aspects; even if most of that crafting is just stolen from MGSV: a much better game, from the true Metal Gear franchise, which Survive might tempt you to play.

tl;dr - 5/10: Eh! S'alright.

not a good MG game but a fun survival game 7/10

There isn't much to say about this one in terms of a MG game but If you just skip the cut scenes and take this for a survival game, it really isn't that bad. besides this isn't cannon so missing out on the story isn't a big deal.
The only 2 things I have a complaint about is its a little grindy and this would have been great with co-op, unfortunately the only thing that is coop is a wave based mode.

In terms of the survival mechanics it doesn't necessarily try to innovate or change anything for the survival genre but instead just does what it needed to do to count as a survival game.

Some of the perks to this survival game is, the progression is pretty fun so as long as you have the time to constantly be traveling while managing things like O2, hunger, and thirst. Things like being able to stealth enemies like completely avoiding them while infiltrating a base for supplies or selectively stealth killing them is also pretty fun and engaging.

Honestly, one of the most underrated games I've played.

I forced myself to like this game and played a little over 100 hours into the game, tried to grab everything and completing the story mode to see if its good.

It's not.

In MGS V, Snake/Your Character moves so smoothly and so many options to complete a level; they way you want to play is your choice with an online pvp mode that is fun. Also MGS V is a Kojima so you know its good.

This isnt a Kojima game, and Konami still messed it up. Let's see what they tried to do here.

They added rpg elements, sounds fun? Not really. Sprinting and crawling now has a STAMINA BAR??? There's a carrying weight LIMIT???
For a new save, you have to buy a slot with real currency???
Story is lacking and tries to fit within the Kojima verse of MGS???
Battle combat is sloppy, your character moves slow af, and objectives are just plain; no flexibility on completing them

They messed up badly on this one. Konami made a mistake firing Kojima and tried to brand this crap off as a MGS title.
Dont even bother playing this mistake.

I think this game didn't get a fair shake for what it is. Does it make sense in a Metal Gear context? Not really. Am I enjoying the crafting/base building/tower defence gameplay loop? Certainly!

The fact that it handles like MGS5 is a plus, it's a really nice feeling to play. This game is even better in co-op, mind you.

Not game of the year, but I'm certainly enjoying myself.

Veri good game, it just got caught between Konami vs Kojima hence the hate wagon. Did an amazing job satisfying my craving for more Fox Engine action.

That festive jerk
That festive jerk

The only place to quit the game is from the title screen, the one where pressing any button EXCEPT Escape moves you to the main menu, where you can't go back to the title screen unless you begin or continue a game.

Never mind literally anything else about this fan hailstorm, how do you mess up the ability to quit the game?

There's a lot to be said about this game otherwise, from its janky controls to the camera constantly trying to jitter out of existence, or the game legally still being in beta, and all the way down to multiplayer mode completely ruining the entire feel of the game by heaping too many resources onto you from a very early point in the game.

Even more than that, they force you to listen to the single-most set of over-the-top disgusting eating and drinking noises I've ever been subjected to, genuinely felt like I was going to vomit.

But seriously? They screwed up quitting.

Get over yourselves, devs.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. its the worst metal gear game I've ever played. the biggest problem is the save function. there is no manual save if you die out in the field hours upon hours of progress is lost. the second issue is overall game balance its literally non existent the game pens u against 30-40 of those things on many story quests with no way to stop them. also there is no point in map markers if they disappear 75% of the time in the dust so you end up wondering around in the dust with an O2 tank that lasts 5 minutes WITH 0 VISIBILITY. the game says there are lights in the distance to follow but thats simply not true only sometimes when your really close to them. the story is absolute garbage just a massive disappointment. stay clear and dont waste ur money on this.

If you don't go into this expecting a Metal Gear game, you will likely have fun.
Its a survival, Tower Defence, semi-base building game with a large focus on collecting materials from almost anything and everything in the environment.

There is a small player base online, so its not "dead" but its barely "surviving". You are likely to find a game on harder difficulties but it might take a while.

If its on sale for around £7 - Id say give it a shot, it could give you a few hours of fun even if you remain entirely on single player.

requesting a refund on writing this. I've left a negative review earlier and it seems like they blocked my account from accessing their game. when i try to run the game as soon as you see the cloud icon moving around, the play icon pops back up as if nothing happend. no matter how many times a clicked it wouldnt work. I'm fully convinced they blocked me because i wrote a bad review. typical dystopia company. ill be getting my 7 dollars back.

don't support scummy companies guys. let go of the metal gear franchise, it's a phantom of what it once was. literally a phantom pain.... ahh... hideo nailed it on the head...

It's not nearly as bad as people say. It's not exactly a Metal Gear Solid game, but it's worth it if it's on sale for 15 dollars or less.

I got the game on sale for cheap and it's more enjoyable than I thought. It tickles my inner loot goblin and sometimes that's all you really need.

It's just a shame that all the drama happened with the split. Both Kojima and Konami handled their sides poorly and the aftermath was a internet wide hate train for the game that killed any potential that we'd get new content and updates for the game.

I will say though, the game did cause a unique phenomenon where Game Reviewers got plagued by Game Journalist Brain where they played only the intro of the game whilst doing minimal to no research on it and then summed up their review by saying the entire game is just what was in the intro.

That's the equivalent to playing Elden Ring, getting killed by the Grafted, exiting the tutorial area without actually jumping down to do the tutorial, attacking White Mask Varre and getting killed by him over and over, then quitting the game and making a video review saying it's a horrible game because the only weapon you ever use is a sword and the gameplay loop is just respawning and dying.

its a bad metal gear but if you like the mgs engine it is a fun zombie game. im honestly on the fence as a long time msg fan ( i have played them all except 1 as far as i'm aware). if you let the mgs part go its a fun 5 dollar game ten if you have to play it, but i would pay any more tho.

While the game has some minor annoyances, it is, overall, a fun time. If you're a loot goblin who likes some base defense zombie stuff, this is 100% worth getting on sale.

Microtransactions exist but you can work around them with only reasonable effort (you can basically ignore them, and you get the premium currency in log-in bonuses)

My two biggest gripes are:
1. that you can't play the campaign with a buddy
2. That virgil won't shut up about my oxygen/food/water levels.

Solid mechanics and progression though the lack of a respec option means you can't experiment with skills or undo ones you don't like.

Overall a fun time, and I think post-Kojima Konami could make a really solid second entry into this line of Metal gear with just a few tweaks and quality of life adjustments.

This was actually a fun game to play I thought it was gonna be terrible by what i been told but that's not true.

One thing i liked a lot was the loot in the open world you actually get rewarded for exploration which MGS5 to me lacks.

I didn't care much for the story the characters wasn't interesting to me at all I knew it was gonna be like this so I focus more on the gameplay instead.

This game to me really feels like a tower defense game which is something I don't enjoy but since it's a metal gear title i still gave it a go and complete the story mode.

Ignore the reviewers and such and just try it out the game when it's on sale but if you watch the beginning cutscene its gonna take a lot of time away just saying,

Denroth Kheri

Ok, let me just say at first, I got this game for like 3 bucks, and you know what? It wasn't that bad, I'd even say enjoyable. I, like many others, listened to reviewers talk about how this game was boring, stale, and not metal gear all while using a metal spear the entire time.

This game does have a little bit of a slow start, not going to lie. You get a garbage weapon and not all that much to do at first, but once you start to explore, things open up as do the playstyles. The gameplay of this was genuinely enjoyable, if a little unpolished, the idea was fun. I don't think I ever got to a point where the game was just a drag to play. Sure, I took breaks between playing, but I never dreaded playing it.

However, the things that this game doesn't have is a good story. The idea is great, the theme is great, heck there were a few nice plot points... but damn did they slip up on everything else.
The characters are so generic. Too much so that it felt like I was talking to paper cut outs in a funhouse. I cared for basically only one person, and that was because they were competent. Everyone else was just, there to be there practically. You never get a chance to like them, or understand them, or see anything other than 'Let's do X.' They are so damn flat they'd be invisible if they lay sideways.

This game also lacks polish, mainly design choices when playing. The controls are meant for controllers, which is extra apparent the moment I had to bind things to weird keys on my keyboard just to not get carpal tunnel in my index finger. Having to hold keys to place things which is also awkward as hell on keyboard. Almost no need for stealth after a few hours...

TLDR:
The game is fun and enjoyable for the actual gameplay loop. The story CONCEPT is honestly not all that terrible either. But damn, the characters might as well be not there since they are so 1 dimensional in personality. If this game goes on sale for 5< dollery doos, not a bad buy honestly.

Wrayday

If you are hard core into Kojima you probably won't like this game. There is no strangely Kojima dialogue and long cut scenes and convoluted stories to be found here. It is all straight forward, you are here, defend yourself. Sadly Steam doesn't give you a middle of the road option and Yes or No really doesn't do this game justice. There are good parts of the game and there are really bad business practices by Konami.

This game has some mindless base building, resource management, team building fun with a really dumb story tying it all together. I really like setting up my base and defending it. Gathering resources and crafting new stuff is rather fun.

The absolutely worst offense this game makes is forcing a player to pay $10 for extra character slots. So if you want to start over you got to shell out $10 or make a hard decision to delete your save.

Multi-player is fun... if you can find people. Konami did no-one any service in their business practices so a lot of people avoided this game. You get a lot of resources and XP for online play so it's the best place to find stuff for crafting.

The game requires always online connection....

Haven't played long and don't plan to as for the reasons are stated below.

Terrible controls for Keyboard/mouse
Character Customisation (the hair specially) isn't pleasant to see (for its time)

Durability/hunger/thirst - I understand why, but more time taken away from doing exploring/fighting/building in the game to maintain equipment/thirst/hunger the more annoying i find it. if you enjoy spending time doing so you may like this part.

Get ready for your character to throw up a lot, till you can make some clean drinking source.

SUPER HANDSOME GURU
SUPER HANDSOME GURU

Metal Gear Survive is a horrible Metal Gear game but it is a somewhat decent Open World Zombie Survival Crafting Base Building game.

Are you a supermodel?
Character creation is basic and simple. Personally, I think that it is not that important. Well, at least your character does not look like a smashed potato. Plus, he/she will probably be wearing some sort of helmet or something.

Tell me a story, grandpa.
Survive tries to link the story with the Phantom Pain`s story and lore and its commendable. Is the story great? Not really. Its alright. Survival games hardly have any sort of story at all so the fact that Survive has one is a bonus in my book!

Controls like a skateboarder breakdancing on ice
I used a controller and so far so good. You just need to readjust the sensitivity; the default speed is too fast for me.

Grinding is my middle name
If you have played any zombie survival games then you will know what to expect. You will grind a lot in this game; for Gerbils, for wood and nails, for dirty/clean water. You name it, you probably have to grind for it.

Excuse me? Tower what now?
Some parts of the game is basically a tower defense (TD). For example, when you are activating the Teleporter, you will be attracting the Wanderers (Survive`s fancy way of calling zombies, not zombies). According to Youtube-sensei, you must clear the surrounding area of any Wanderers before you activate TD mode. Thinning the horde helps a bunch!

Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!
Its a survival game so you will need to eat and drink. The problem I have (especially during early game) the hunger/thirst meter depletes to fast for my liking. Youtube-sensei also taught me to go to the Multiplayer Lobby if you are planning on doing a lot of crafting/cooking/repairing. Time stops in those lobby so go nuts!

Im tired. Are we there yet?
The stamina system sucks fishballs! Couchwalk/crawling will eat your stamina like me at the all you can eat buffet but worry not, you`ll get a hang of it. You need to micromanage the stamina bar usage. Crouchwalk/crawl only when neccessary...Or don`t. Up to you.

Closing remark? That`s it? You`re leaving already?
Although my game time is short; I honestly enjoyed playing it. Sadly, time is something I dont have in abundance nowadays so I can probably play for a few minutes (grind for food and water or do a simple doable dailies) before signing out. Again, if you are looking for a Metal Gear experience then this is not the game you are looking for. I suggest Phantom Pain or Revengeance. Oh, to put it bluntly, Survive feels like a complete overhaul mod for Phantom Pain except its not a mod.

Its as bad as people say it is. Enemies get random super armor that makes it impossible to predict behavior and all enemies have longer range then you do even with a spear.

As a Metal Gear fan, I can understand the frustration and hate this game gets for what it is and when it came out. People wanted more Metal Gear, and this game is definitely not that.

Focusing on the "Survive" part of the name though, I think this game is still a fun romp to play through. This game shows the potential of what can be done with the Fox Engine, with a lot of my fun coming from the weird tower defense elements in this game. If anything, this game ruined other survival games for me because of how well the game plays and feels. The freedom to tackle enemies in different ways never gets boring, and mistakes genuinely feel like my mistake either from lack of prep or simply getting too careless and cocky.

I'm well aware of a lot of the games' faults, such as a lack of any real endgame beyond simply building up your base, and the always-online requirement, but past all of that is a game that you can really get a lot of fun out of either alone or with others in a casual sense.

To finish it off, I'd say wait for a sale and give it a shot. For $7, I think there's a lot you can get out of this game and leave feeling satisfied. I'm only sad that Konami has seemingly abandoned the game beyond some small events here and there and a weekly maintenance.

I like the game, wasnt really excited since the whole kojima falling out with konami thing but all in all its a good game, instead of playing as snake you play as a regular soldier and it shows some realism with what you need to do to survive in the area of operations instead of just smoking a cigar or whatnot. Although I wish there was a companion system where you can take 1 or 2 survivors with you during stuff instead of leaving them at base. And not exploration missions I mean physically with you when you hunt, scavenge, rescue, etc. And you can give them weapons to help them survive as well.

It's honestly not that bad, the only downside is that it needs to be always online to play the single player mode. Buy if it's on a heavy discount only.

- Base building
- Base defense
- Collecting stuff/loots
- Drinking dirty water

Okay, anyone who saw my streams of this or looks at my game hours is gonna question the decision to go negative, I get it. I do actually enjoy this game, but I enjoy it DESPITE everything wrong with it, and even then it's a bit bittersweet and maybe even a bit of sunk cost.

This game would not have been nearly as harshly criticized if it hadn't been called Metal Gear, that's true. What's there is a decent, fun game. But it is RIDDLED with predatory microtransactions that purposely halt your progression, and stupid design decisions.

So really my list of good is just:
Zombie semi-tower defense game fun

My complaints, hence my negative review despite still playing the game:
Pay real money to boost kuban/resource gain, potentially not so bad but it's clear that your progression in either is crippled on purpose to encourage paying for boosts.
Exploration teams, you get one slot free, the rest are 1000 SV coins each, AKA almost €10 each. Insane, what the actual fuck, and on the note of exploration teams, I accidentally sent one out thinking they'd be gone for an hour when in actuality it was a whole day, went ''oops, better cancel'' aaaand you have to pay real money to cancel the expedition. Not to speed it up, no, cancelling it costs money.
You can earn SV coins without buying them with real money, but it's such an arbitrary, low amount that it's unnoticable. Every 2 weeks-ish you can get 60 total, and you get maybe 20 a week from daily logins, IF you log in daily. So realistically, you'd be playing every day for 20 weeks to get enough for a single exploration team slot.
The class system, you unlock classes AFTER you beat the game, and content in postgame is SCARCE, and that's generous. Log in about once a day to do base digs to unlock more things that would've been useful DURING THE CAMPAIGN, or pay real money to speed it up, figures, or do the multiplayer which gets repetitive quickly, that's it. There are 2 bosses with stupidly inflated health bars, barely doable even above the level they're recommended for.

Despite that I'm still playing, I'm curious to see how I can build out my base and if I can ever get any actual decent gear, but I can't recommend it to anyone else.

Fuck Konami

It's alright. You get to enjoy a bit more of the Fox Engine which is nice.
I'd never have paid full price for this, but for the 2 or 3 bucks I paid for it, was pretty enjoyable.

Story is very very simple, but then again, not really the point of this.
The whole "poking through a fence with a spear" meme is just that, a meme. I did that twice during the whole game. You get plenty of other options very early in the game.
The survival part is pretty well done. I never really struggled with it, there's always something to hunt and something to drink available to you.
I played close to 60h of this, more than I expected. Never managed to get a multiplayer match going, but then again, was never necessary.

Most reviews out there give it a 6.5 out of 10 and I think that's pretty fair to be honest.
Get it cheap, have some fun with the Fox Engine.

So I generally don't leave reviews on games, but I feel I need to leave my piece here. This game has been great so far, BUT under one condition. I got it 85% off on a sale. There is good enough survival game play in the beginning to get what I wanted out of it, but now I get a whole bunch of hilarious tower defense instead. See something big? Literally throw a metal gear ray at it. For a cheaper cost, try this as a metal gear fan.

Really isn't as bad as what's been said already. It IS an awful metal gear game.. that part is true. However the story, though predictable, isn't too terrible. The gameplay is actually pretty fun, assuming you like survival zombie games. Really the only truly un-excusable sin that Konami is guilty of, in regard to this game, is the predatory monetization they have tacked on to the game... 10$ bucks to have a second character in a game with multiple endings... come on... that's just... gross. But that isn't really the fault of the devs, who put in the work to make a decent game while under the oppressive regime of Konami higher ups. They even went as far as to put hidden messages giving due praise to Hideo Kojima. I am worried that a lot of people are afraid to try this game, due to the reputation this game has unfortunately garnered

Anyways.... as long as you're into this kind of gameplay, it is a fun experience I would recommend giving a shot. Especially if you can get it on sale.

If it's on sale: and you like zombie survival stuff, i recomend. I usually don't play games like this, and the fact it's called metal gear is an eyesore. It has some metal gear stuff, and it's in fives engine, but if you ignore that it's a solid game that makes me feel like a loot goblin stealing everything that's nailed down, then stealing the nails, and everything else, as well as putting me in tense situations with cool monsters. It's fun

I'm ashamed to say that this game is actually good (However only Kojima is god)
when you forget it's a metal gear game
Overall concept is good, mechanics are annoying at first but interesting and fun later on, Coop missions are pretty good but lack of modes, if you unlocked all the gears and completed all the missions this game starts feeling like a grinding simulator with no end and no purpose.
Due lack of content, this game itself still have a lot of potentials that it could expand.
To conclude I still liked this game, no matter how much controversies are behind it.
I'd advice Konami to keep the tradition of the series to favor the major fans instead of trying something way too different for fans to accept.

After the Kojima v Konami debacle I vowed to not get this game until it was on sale for £5... well 4 years have past and the game was on sale for £6.99, so wth, bought it anyway.

40 hours in now, the first couple of hours where a slog, but I honestly have to say, it is one of the most tense games I have played in a long while, sweating bullets and second guessing if I am lost in the "dust", running low on oxygen, running low on managing food and water... so satisfying when completing my goal.

Graphics, audio and environments are good, gameplay is great, lots of sneaking around. People complain its a set up fence, camp and stabby, stabby with a spear, but that's only until you can farm enough resources for ammo, molotovs, grenades, gadgets. I love the exploration, discovering hidden items, collecting blueprints as well as the crafting and upgrading.

The story is interesting and the split to another dimension doesn't ruin or take anything away from the MGS original timeline, its just a separate.
People complain about the fact that zombies don't belong in a MGS game... But we have had zombie like soldiers who glitched out due to interference with their nanomachines in MGS4, puppets in MGSV, not to forget the supernatural psycho psychics and bi sexual vampires... it's not so far fetched.

My only complaint and regret is that finding co-op players is non existent, probably due to the amount of hate Konami got (myself included), you can solo, but it's going to be a challenge with a lot of trial and error.

All in all if you find it on sale, buy it if you enjoy the MGSV formula and tower defence/ survival management games.

I honestly love this game. These Youtube reviewers did not give this game a chance. YES, the game is quite difficult as you first progress but it turns around once you have a actual base established. There is loads of different weapons and gear to obtain and craft, just takes some exploring to find them. You can find other survivors to not only help you progress but defend your base well. Collecting and moving around the maps becomes easy once you've reached a high enough skill and obtained a sub class to assist you for both combat and stealth applications. You DO NOT have to spend money for this game! They give the give the same currency away for free for completing objectives during salvage missions which is later on in the game. There are mini boss's as well as a main.

TLDR: If you like survival mechanics (very similar to MGS3), a huge variety of equipment and weapons for crafting and stealth with several fan services of the franchise I recommend going without fear.

I will admit that I ignored this game a lot because of the problems I had with Phantom Pain and the Metal Gear Solid franchise in the troubled end between Kojima and the company.
But now almost 4 years after its release, with a cooler head I decided to test it and I was absurdly surprised. If you like mgs3-style survival with stealth mechanics and a tower defense bonus, it's a full plate. They took what they already had in Phantom Pain and polished it a lot, even adding new mechanics (like melee combos, backstab among others) and "powers" with traps and new items, the campaign mode is very interesting and the coop too, without connection problems . What surprised me the most is that after completing the story mode, another bonus is released that helps a lot in co-op missions, giving a very big additional plus.

The biggest cons I have is the game being very scarce in single player mode after completing the campaign, depending a lot on missions generated by the members of the stage, this includes rescue missions to improve your base, so depend on an rng to have a mission to improve your base is something that leaves a lot to be desired as an end game.

The other con is that the variety is great in co-op mainly for evolutions and equipment, but the missions are almost always the same maps and modes, which makes it get boring really fast, they added a new mode recently that has a DS and Silent vibe Hills which was very interesting, but could have some more maps and game modes, I would even recommend an infiltration map to recover some item without being noticed in stealth mode XD

And to finish, as for the controversies I had heard about microtransactions, I think it was made by reviews that didn't play phantom pain, I have 80 hours of game time and I didn't have anything that forced me to pay with microtransactions, since phantom pain forces you at times paying for microtransactions and there is always something for everything, even to create a weapon faster.

In summary, I highly recommend MG Survive, especially if you miss a controller like the phantom pain.

If you guys don't enjoy this game you definitely need to put a couple hours intill all the extremely harsh mechanics disappear. stamina gets fixed with levels, and so do being 2 shot. Eventually you will be able to kill waves of wanderers without flinching. The hunger/thirst mechanic isn't really a problem once you get water tanks, and a farm.

Honestly, if resource SCAVENGING and stealth are your thing - it's not as bad as the stigma suggests. I say 'scavenging' because this initial curve to build up your base camp will be a mix of learning how to gauge the weighty melee and also your own food and water, but once you're over that you should be in an easy swing.

20 hours in. Finished the story just a hour ago. Would recommend.

I think a lot of hate this got was because of the name Metal Gear which I understand. However people like revengence so you can like this.

I will say the zombie part seems generic. It is. However I would say this is one of the best zombie games I’ve ever played. Right up there with dying light.

You stealth around in the dust trying to get to a new spot, and find new information, and sometimes you have to defend from many wanders to defend a point(which is one of the main co op modes). And they truly start to pile up.

I bought on sale. Because I’m stingy. And that’s a really good price at 7.5, but I do think it’s worth the price of 30, but at the very least 20.

Oh have to add just because. Story was never a big deal, but some twists got me interested.

Its overall a more complete game than V is. If you go into this with the right expectations you can enjoy it. I take it as just another steam survival game, and its a decent one at that and its got a metal gear coat of paint. The main campaign plays fine, although the Fox Engine used feels like an unoptimized version of the one that Kojima used in Metal Gear Solid V. The meta game contains time-gated activities that can be removed with real money coin purchases (SV coins). It's a really distasteful method of Gaming as a Service that I have come to dislike. If you really enjoyed MGS5 and want to branch off from that adventure on a wacky side story, maybe buy it on sale. As for me, I've done about all I needed to and have no desire to play the meta game. Thumbs down from me, but your mileage may vary.

First off this is METAL GEAR SURVIVE. Those who say Konami just wanted to make money off the name, dont realize thats what being a distribution company is. Its what Konami has been doing since they first brought Kojima in. The only difference is Kojima is gone and some Devs who learned from him as well as Konami is still here, and they brought a banger. There is NO SNAKE, there is only your character, which can be easily comfused with your custom medic character from MGSV. Also if you beat MGSV you will have some extra gear to start. This game isnt trying to be the metal gear Kojima made. Its honestly so much more, and i will not spoil anything, because the suprise of HOW this is ONE HELL OF A GAME hits home so hard, it makes you kinda wish reviews and video reviews didnt exist. This game is nothing like anyone reivewed it bad says it is. THIS GAME is the shit and will keep you on your toes and interested at all time ...... only if you can break the curse of the KOJIMAS and just play it. Metal Gear Survive is nowhere near as bad as people say it is. Now, don't get me wrong, it isn't a fantastic game. However, it's still a pretty decent game. In fact, I had a decent amount of fun playing it. Regardless, many of the criticisms people have with Metal Gear Survive are true: the game reuses assets for MGSV, feels nothing like a Metal Gear game, combat can be a chore, and the gameplay loop isn't great. Personally, even though I agree with all of these criticisms, I find the most annoying part of the game to be the lack of mission variety and artificial difficulty. For example, near the end of the game, almost every mission is the same: defend an objective for fifteen minutes while hundreds of enemies attack you. Yet, even though Metal Gear Survive is full of problems, if you go into it with an open mind, I'd suggest giving it a try.

Dirmagnos

If i were to describe this game in one word. that word would be "incompetence". In case of two word allowance, it would be "gross incompetence".
Whoever was responsible for design on this game either had no idea whatsoever what he was doing or intentionally sabotaged it. Because game fails on most fundamental level, when it comes to both survival and MGS setting. After playing it for just 10 hours i have 7.5 A4 pages of issues i have with this game. If not for the fact that at 80% of all assets being lifted from Phantom Pain, this game would be a complete train wreck.
It is a convoluted incompetent mess, with literally every feature being implemented in a "wtf is this" manner. This level of gross incompetence can be seen from get-go. It literally takes 4 clicks(not counting ones needed to skip intros) and 3 loading screens to just get to main menu. Seriously !!?
And Virgil...fucking Virgil. AI that is talking constantly and having opinion on literally everything. You cant take a piss without it commending on how you are unzipping your pants wrong. After i got a mod that shut this fucker up, game instantly got significantly better. And devs clearly thought that an average player is mentally retarded, because AI talks real slow. With long, mostly uninformative, segments of talking. There is a lot of filler, that serves no practical purpose, nor gives any meaningful information.
Original MGSV was build around concept of ranged combat and stealth. This game is build around concept of speed and melee combat...using framework of original game. Because due to extremely limited amount of oxygen available to player sneaking around is not really a particularly good option. And ranged weapons are pathetically weak in this game. With melee combat system being on most rudimentary level. One-handed melee weapons are crap, to put it mildly. Only competitive melee weapons are two-handed, but they also take "back" slot...only slot where bows or sniper rifles can go in, so, yet again, player has to chose. But you can carry 3 handguns, for whatever reason.
Skill system in this game is on par with everything else. There is maybe couple skill that help with exploration. And there is pretty much none that deal with alleged core concept of this game - survival. Also all 4 subclasses are locked behind finishing main campaign and even then you can have only one active at the time, with only one active ability and up to 4 perks "equipped" at once. Why ?! Because devs hate gamers. So that player not just have barely any content available to them, they also cant utilize it all at the same time.
Speaking of campaign. Most of it is just fetch quests. There has been a few interesting twists and turns, but those twists also created quite a few contradictions in narrative, so...yeah.
End game is boring. Aside of regular running around and looting, there are just 2 minibosses and also 2 mission types, with 4 levels of difficulty and handful of maps to play them on. Lower difficulty levels give you trash as reward and higher level ones require a team, that you are unlikely to find(due to low active player count), unless you play with fiends. Again, absolutely minimal amount of content.
There is literally no way to extend your oxygen supply in this game. You can later learn and craft Oxygen Supply Unit, that is equipped in gadget slot, but once you place it there is no way to reallocate it and if players walks a bit of a distance it simply despawns. And it is not exactly cheap to make either. You cant expand capacity of you oxygen tank, learn to use less oxygen or find alternative way to refill oxygen, but by using already mentioned gadget or return to base(it does not even refill when you are in Dust-free zones, nor there is any way to make it so). Same goes for hunger and thirst. And for whatever reason food also spoils(and there is no way to refrigerate it and there is also no indicator of food "freshness", you can only dry it later on, but even then only meats and they lose most of their nutritional value in the process). Fuck if i know why somebody thought it was a good idea to put it into game. Especially considering how player needs to eat and drink about every 5 minutes.
Base building system is as incompetent as the rest of the game design. How can you take very simple(yet normally quite efficient and ergonomic) system of tile building and fuck up it this badly ?!!? It takes a half the keyboard to build anything, because you will be forced to play twister with your fingers in some weird game of 4D chess(on a 2D board), as almost every action requires simultaneous pressing of a several keys at once. Why making drinking water is made so convoluted ?! Why i can craft several types of barricades and fences, yet art of making gates and doors has been apparently lost !?! Why buildings cant be upgraded and instead player has to build higher tier ones and deconstruct old obsolete ones ?! Why ? Why ? Why ? Why does this game hates it players so much ?
And of course console cancer. Need to hold a key for every fucking action. And not for a second, more like 5. Killed a dozen Wanderers and want to loot them ?! Well tough shit, looting every one of them will take you a minute. Slooooow tedious minute. While your extremely limited oxygen supply, if you are in the Dust(and player spends most of the time there), rapidly ticking away. Good thing i have been using X-Mouse for years, so i just rebind it to "toggle", rather than "hold". And game is composed of those small extremely poorly designed features. With players having to twist themselves in pretzels to fix those obvious basic QoL issues. And to those that will say "But there is a Quick Hands perk." - this perk reduces searches by maybe 1 second, it barely makes a difference.
Speaking about QoL, why to fuck i can balloon out containers, corpses and animals, but i cant pack up and send up all the loot that i have gathered on my journey ?! This game requires returning to base and constant loading back and forth nonstop.
So on and so forth.
Saddest part is that idea is sound, core concept can work and work well in given settings. It has the basics of a good game. There is about 20% of a good survival game. If it had competent development team, that would actually give it content, balance, test it and most importantly finish it(there area lot of features that were clearly unfinished, like perks that have 1 level and their description states that they are level 1 and higher levels will have improved efficiency, implying that there was supposed to be more levels), it could be a good game. But as it is usually with cash grabs, this game is barebones, absolute minimum effort and work was put into it. It has abandoned core gameplay of original game, but did not really build much in terms of survival game.
Did i get my moneys worth out of it ? Yes. But then again, i paid just 8 euros for it. This game is worth maybe 10 euros, but their asking full price of 40 is a complete ripoff. There is just not enough content for this price.

Again this isn't everyone's type of game only recommend if you're familiar with the other games and series franchise of Metal Gear I still think it deserves credit the game isn't terrible.

Was super fun back when multiplayer was still alive now you have to get your rl friends to play and get anywhere and that shit aint easy. The campaign is pretty bland but you carry all of your gear over to the MP which I thought was a cool feature makes deciding what to take with you an important decision. Wish they coulda kept this going but you know....the internet.

This game is Euphoric.
From the moment I bought this game I have felt nothing but joy and a light flowing throughout my body.
All I desire in life now is to spread the word and copies of Metal Gear Survive.
All will bathe in it's eternal light and glory.

Praise be.

Uniroincally the best £6 spent in awhile.

After playing for an hour I'm convinced most reviewers who smashed it at the time might be mentally unhinged, the game tells you plenty of times at the start, that stealth is essential at first. Everyone seems to have taken this to mean you should spam fences and poke with a piece of shit stick and write the game off.

Give it a go. Decent length, plenty to do. The story is basically a huge setup for post game tower defense base building shenanigans and the horde mode parts are pretty fun and hectic.

I only recommend this game if you can get it for free or at an extreme discount (5 USD/Euro or less)

As far as i understood the story, this game was apparently Kojima's idea, except it was supposed to be a cheap/free side mode for MGSV, that Konami decided to sell as a standalone game.

What a shame.

Not for everyone, not too bad... unless you stop playing.
Honestly I enjoyed playing just a little bit more in the FOX engine, and enjoyed the game. Durability is a bad mechanic, survival mechanics are particularly unfun and this game has survive in the name so...
The greatest grievance I have with this game is the insanely asinine approach to resource generation. In literally every other game I've ever played where resources are generated in real time, you have more stuff when you return to the game, subconciously incentivizing you to keep playing with the dopamine hit you get from getting more stuff. This game takes the opposite approach and drains your resources in real time so you have nothing when you start playing again. This means upon returning to the game you must IMMEDIATELY go on supply runs to keep your base at a survivable level, as staff immediately start getting sick. This means that the few hours you play this game at a time are going to be wasted replenishing resources, and honestly it gets old fast. There's a lost of post-game content but I didn't get to see any of it because every time I logged back in I had to rush to get supplies, never could find enough, got frustrated and bored with running the same missions over and over and eventually quit.
This game also requires an internet connection to play, which is also frankly a terrible feature that did prevent me from playing when my internet was out.
Overall Metal Gear Survive had some potential but it was squandered by just a few terrible decisions. Sadly a 3/10.

This game was good enough for me to buy it twice.

I recognize the criticisms it received, may valid, but it's been out for four years now and they still maintain the servers and have events. The singleplayer becomes much more enjoyable once you get about an hour and thirty into the game, replacing your spear with other weapons. I'm not sure why they chose the spear to be the first weapon other than its ability to pierce permeable walls, but if you carry the walls with you while you have the spear, and then change loadouts first chance, it's pretty fun. From there the builds get really customizable and super fun.

Exploring the mist in singleplayer and pulling people, tech, and materials out of it is super fun. I enjoyed the story well enough.

The coop is FANTASTIC and still has people playing it, though in order to get an "Easy" group going you'll probably need to join the steam group or discord, but then you'll get one fine.

Seriously give it a try, especially at sale price. I think it's my favorite zombie survival game ever, and I don't really make that lightly.

A good zombie survival game, if you're an MGS fan like me just forget about the other games and you'll enjoy this one. MGS5 but different story and a whole less revenge

I actually enjoy the game even though its not what most people wanted or expected out of a MGS game. I enjoy the survival and crafting aspect of it. It can be quite repetitive at times and I have gotten used to looking at all of the grey scenery that the game has to offer. What i really don't enjoy is spending over an hour sneaking around and killing hordes of enemies ever so slowly while collecting random loot scattered all about and making a whole bunch of progress for a single objective only to lose all of my progress and collected items over and over again because of the frequent disconnects from the servers. What is the reason that the single player aspect of this game needs to be connected to online servers at all times??? I wouldn't even be upset if at least all of the dozens of random items that I had collected were saved but I have to recollect everything every time. I bought this game on sale for like $6 and i'm sitting here wondering if my money would have been better spent on gum. I put in a lot of hours in this game on ps4 about a year or two ago and now I remember why I stopped playing it there too.

this game is boring and un-fun. all enemies are strong af no reason at least in dark souls u can beef your character up and grind to new levels but the upgrading system on here is a downgrade from MGS5 and doesnt do much to help you fight enemies. its not even worth it on sale. 0/10 save your money

Im giving it a Very light yes id choose mixed if it was an option.

Metal Gear Survive is a a spin off of MGS that has a few serious problems which we will talk about but its not as bad as people make it out to be but id argue its not great either. At its worst its just meh and at best its just okay.

The Game takes plays in a alternate series of events shortly after MGSV: Grounds Zero where you a Combat Team Captain of the Diamond dogs manage to survive the XOFs attack on mother base until a giant wormhole appears above where you nearly get sucked into said giant wormhole that appears above Mother base. Thankfully you dont but the wormhole clips off your arm and you fall to your death.

A Character who calls himself Goodluck manages to revive you and explains that the there is a world beyond the wormholes in the MGS universe called Dite and the reason you were revived is you have a crystal parasite that originates from Dite that turns people into crystal zombies. Goodluck tells you your only option is to go to Dite to help him both stop Dite from infesting Earth with these crystal creatures while also rectifying the space time nonsense Dite is creating. Using the fact a team of soldiers were sent to Dite to collect data but Goodluck lost contact with them and proposes they may have data to help cure your parasitic condition before you become one of the crystal zombies Goodluck calls Wanderers. So he sends you in to asses the teams status and to collect the data left behind about Fite and hopefully your parasitic condition to rectify this whole situation.

The game is very cut and dry its a Survival/base building game that borrows a lot from MGS5 as Dite is really just a parallel world to MGS5. You hunt and cook food to stay nourished you find and purify water to stay hydrated and you try to progress the story while also Building, Upgrading, and repairing equipment, gear, and your base camp by collecting materials strewn about Dite.

You also need Kuban Energy which are the energy crystals the zombies are made of so you harvest it from naturally growing crystal plants or from the creatures and zombies you kill to make and build said equipment and gear. Along with upgrading yourself and your abilities netting you new skills to make both combat and easier to deal with.

The story is nothing to write home about its just narrative filler that just tries to add a reason to why your doing what your doing to progress the game. The story itself is mostly done in scrolling text boxes yes very few cutscene's just scrolling text boxes for your narrative like I said nothing to write home about.

Now lets talk about the elephants in the room the reason there is a full on hate band wagon for this game and that is mainly due to the Kojima situation. You see Konami fell out with Kojima amidst MGSV the Phantom Pain's Development hence why some of the very late cut scenes in MGSV: the Phantom Pain are left unfinished. Not only did Konami give Kojima the boot kicking Kojima to the curb but Konami took it upon themselves to ban Kojima from the 2015 game awards so he could not accept any game award MGS5 won at the time.

Onto of that the game is quite monetization heavy and the worst offense is the game is online only yep Metal Gear survive is online only if your internet cuts out for even a bit, and you lose connection to the servers your kicked back to the title screen to your last auto save which is basically the equivalent to dying in the game. With Metal Gear Survive being a game that was suppose to be a means for konami to rekindle hope to MGS fans that they would be able to care for the series and this is what we got needless to say it was a PR dumpster fire especially with the actions put against Kojima and his team.

As for the game if you can get it on heavy sale id say its a alright cut and dry survival game that can stand on its own outside of MGS otherwise i would advise against it. And while people argue the monetization yes the game does make you pay for save slots but are you really going to play this game more then once to make use of anything more then 1 slot? just being real there.

The real problem is the online only if it was not id strike it from meh to alright if not a luke warm good all the time especially considering especially what game this is it functions perfectly fine as a single player game I honestly see no reason for it to be online only.

So TL:DR I am giving it a 5/10 only get it on heavy sale if your curious about it as its just a very meh, survival game that stands on its own if you forgo the fact its a Metal gear game and are willing to deal with the fact its online only.

The best way I can describe this is that it's not a good Metal Gear Game but it's a good Zombie Tower Defense.

kurotesuta

I will keep it simple.

The Good
- Game is fun
- The story is okay, basically it feels like a fanfiction. Probably would have done much better if it didn't have the name Metal Gear Solid attached to it
- The combat is pretty similar to MGS: Phantom Pain, but with the addition that you can deploy stuff (like fences, traps, etc)
- The Online missions are fun, unfortunately people seem not to play it on my side of my world, although you can solo.

The Bad:
- Shameless giant asset flip from MGS: Phantom Pain, maps, npcs, etc. Other than the main characters, everything is pretty much the same, only with a "new" coat of pain.
- Cash shop, you have to pay to expand inventory, deploy groups, etc.
- You have to be online to play the game, even in single player, so if the servers are down you can't play.
- The variety of enemies is pretty limited.

Should you buy it? On Sale, yeah, it is worth playing it.

The first 2 hours was exposition and cut scenes, The 30 minutes of actual gameplay was extremely mediocre No risk, no challenge, clunky af, Not enjoyable in the slightest, I couldn't care less how the story will advance or even if it could advance.

Metal Gear Solid 5 was the same, too many introduction cut scenes and nonsense little floaty gas mask fire kid and then poof you have no arm a teenage bald girl with a bomb in her belly helicoptor REVOLVER OCELOT, Ground Zero was a more fun experience than 5.

I am yet to play an actual Metal Gear Solid game, I own the original "Metal Gear Solid" on PS1 don't own any of the sequels on PS2 or PS3, I'd like to just haven't got around to it. And Metal Gear Acid on PSP looks awful.

I bet Survival and 5 are a disgrace to the Legacy of Metal Gear Solid. Konami tried their best to sell with 5 "OLD CHARACTERS, BRA BOOB LADY WHO DOESN'T SPEAK, DOG WOLF, HORSE, RED SKULL HEIL HYDRA, MANTIS FLAME BOY GAS MASK FLOATY FIRE.

Ground Zero feels like what 5 should have been more of, Ground Zero feels like what a traditional Metal Gear experience should be.

But 5 was all convoluted quests, not much story apart from very rare blips, desert in the day time, the oil rig, bald kid laying on the bed.

The introduction mission of Metal Gear Solid 5 seemed to be going in the right direction, If we had MGS 5's introduction mission and then had a game like Ground Zero, It would be pretty good. But I don't mean one map over and over, I mean the experience of Ground Zero spreading to different environments instead of a desert and crying about Nuclear Disarmament.

DISCLAIMER: The game is a live service game, requiring constant internet connection. This is a major sore point for many customers so keep this in mind before reading on.

What the game is NOT:
-A standard Metal Gear Solid title.
-A simulation of Naked Snake, Solid Snake, or Jack/Raiden.
-A tactical espionage simulation.
-A continuation of the story of the Metal Gear Solid series.
-An adventure based on a modified timeline of real world events.

What the game is:
-A spin-off title in the Metal Gear universe, hence the lack of a number in the title.
-A simulation of a custom Motherbase soldier infected with an extra-dimensional parasite.
-A survival game.
-A side story that does not affect the main timeline of games.
-An adventure set in another dimension.

To compare this game to MGSI through MGSV is a poor way to measure it given how different it is in theme. But in order to understand half of the references and content of Metal Gear Survive, you need to know the main series backwards and forwards. Once you do that, the game toys with your knowledge and answers questions that you didn't know you had, particularly for MGSV and Ground Zero.

Strange but in a good way, Metal Gear: Survive was definitely a unique experience. Throughout the entire main campaign you have one single goal. Escape, and to do so you must defend a location. Unfourtunately, that's every mission. when you're not collecting food, or gathering a small amount of resources to build an item, or saving another survor, you're just defending a new wormhole teleporter, an old one, or a machine that gives you resources. Despite that, the game still makes these missions very intense. The balancing in these missions could use some work expecially since the main world you play in is single player only. sometimes early game these missions feel immensly dangerous, more then they should be at least until you find better gear. it took 29 hours to beat the game but now that i have finished, i realise the game has only really begun. throughout the game it shows you things you could potentially get such as rare pink tiered gear, or a animal farming stations, or even certain buildings. but you never get the resources for those locations till later in the game after a few more campaign missions. many of those items shown will never be obtained till after the main story finishes. which is a little weird. it makes the campaign feel very rushed; as if it were not even the primary focus of the game.
Overall i think this was very fun and though the game has some problems, it isn't enough for me to dislike the game either. if you can get this on a sale it would def be worth $15, $20 i feel like you'd be pushing it a bit but depending on the person, could be worth it.

This may be Konami's quick cash grab out of the MGS franchise but it looks and feels fun. Of course there are a LOT of cases that I die so many times but it forces me to learn from what I lack and learn from my mistakes. I wish I get to play with some ppl in coop. The multiplayer content looks fun as well.

I actually really enjoy this game.
The only reason I'm downvoting is because there's no real co-op in this game.
This game's "co-op" just lets you start a mission and do it with your friends, you can't actually freeroam multiplayer with your friends, kinda a similar issue that Elden Ring has.
