I've been playing the demo since release (over a year). I've been patiently waiting and hoping for all these things the dev said he was going to do and yet nothing has happened since the first of the year. Apparently there is modded tracks however, I've yet to see them. The game is dead and it kinda seems like the dev just took the money and ran. Hopefully we see some updates in the near future but I won't be holding my breath.

Game is abandoned. Dev's last updated the game PROMISING more "regularly released updates" for their POS not even half finished game. (They stated this basically 1 YEAR ago and delivered absolutely NOTHING since then. Not even a SINGLE ANNOUNCEMENT about what they're working on.)

People on Steam are asking where these "regular released updates" are and getting ZERO RESPONSE from the developer. I even went on the LCQ Studios Facebook page hoping to at least get an answer that way since they're IGNORING people on Steam as to what's taking OVER A YEAR for their "regular released updates" and got NO RESPONSE even that way.

Don't buy this abandoned game. This group of lazy "developer" scammers don't deserve your money for this garbage they call a game.

This game REALLY needs to be REMOVED from the steam store so that way no one else is tempted to buy this garbage because it's really that bad of a game in the state they released it in and the developer isn't even bothering to reply back to anyone who are asking where these "regular updates" that they promised are.

I get this is Early Access and I took my gamble with it. But the Dev (scammer) shouldn't promise to deliver people one thing then drop off the face of the Earth after promising that one thing.

Of ALL the Early Access games I've played, this one has to be the WORST one since it got abandoned after just 2 MONTHS of being released.

Buy MX Bikes instead.

I've always liked MX based games having done MX myself and now off road riding. I bought this as it says it was written by bikers for bikers but not even the engine sound was right. I couldn't bare it after 6 mins and got a refund. I'm all for trying early releases as most of my library is in early dev but this i'm afraid to say was terrible.
I still cant believe this was made by bikers. Sorry guys but good luck to you.

the potential of this game is insane! its early access, but i have enjoyed it more than the name brand games; Monster Energy or Mx vs.Atv.

First off, I have thousands of hours on dirtbikes. Second, even though MXGP games are pricey but far more sophisticated than all other bike games. I can't stand some of the negative reviews. This game is amazing for a Unity game, and amazing coming from a small team chasing the dream: a accurate fun to play dirtbike game. I have them ALL and I say to the development team: Great job! As it improves I will be buying more copies for my team and our computers. Well done....

Even for a game that is at its very early stages of development, the game is so much fun. The physics are different from every other motocross game on the market. The in air physics are somewhat like a simulator, while being decently easy to pick up and play. The included tracks and compounds are super fun and flow really good for a game that is so early on in its development. I'm beyond excited to see what the developers have in store for the future, and definitely recommend giving the game a try.

This game is a WIP, but its what us as motocross fans need. We have been striving towards a good moto game for so long,
and this is our chance!. I am happy the entire LCQ team is filled with good people, and fellow motocross fans.
They understand our frustration, as they themselves are moto gamers.

Best Regards

It is not the best right now but it has potential.
I wish the steering and leaning felt more like it does in MX Bikes in this game it feels very awkward and slow to do whips and stuff like that. it also feels very weird when you can turn in mid air.

Bottom line up front - get this game, its freaking amazing!

The team from LCQ are some of the finest people who have brought an absolute banger of a game. Something Hodge has been working on for many years (his entire blog can be found on https://lcqstudios.com/ talking more in depth), he has taken that information and kept rebuilding to what we see now.

This game just isn't another dirt bike game, but something a few of us say we want to do and actually do. Gamers from the dawn of time have always said, I wish they did X or why didn't they do Y, or the biggest, I could make this 10x better. These individuals are gamers at heart and for them to build this game into something we all can just play and enjoy, is not only a testament about their character, but a proving ground for players who are sick and tired of big companies / studios who are developing trash games.

MCTD is amazing and I know we are only going to receive a better product of a game the more we add to the development process (something he listens to very well as long as its a problem/solution type model). Go get this game. Support these guys and lets make the change in the gaming community for this is a positive one! Thank you Hodge!

Huge moto gamer over here and loving the direction and development of the game so far. It's pretty cool that the creators of the game are listening to its player when making decisions on developing the game. Lots of updates already and looking forward to playing this game more in the future.

The physics really hit the spot between MX vs ATV and MX Bikes. I don't have endless hours of time to get and stay good at the sims, so it's nice to jump into this and get a responsive feeling game without the frustration of falling from every little mistake. Railing ruts feels awesome, which is a big selling point for me. I'm sure this game will be amazing with the mod community producing some diverse content. Hopefully the fact that it uses Unity will make the process simpler than other games. Since it's still in development, I'll just share some tweaks I'd like to see in the future:

(As of the mid-September 2022 update)
-As much as I hate falling, it's a bit too hard to fall at the moment. I think I read this is going to be fixed soon, though
-There doesn't seem to be much modulation of the throttle. It feels like you either get barely anything or full throttle, not much in between. Feeling the bike wheelie or the tire spin when you give it too much would add a nice realistic feel.
-On the subject of tire spin, I'd like to see more of that. Even with both sticks thrown in one direction and full gas clutch pop, the back tire only breaks loose for a second. It's also not really feasible to slide into bowl corners locking up the back brake (although with how sharp the bike turns it's not all that necessary).
-I haven't figured out how to do a proper scrub. I just can't get the bike to lean over enough.
-Without steering input, leaning doesn't make the bike turn whatsoever, which feels a bit odd.
-It's hard to know if it's just 125 2-stroke that is currently the only playable bike, but it feels like the bog is very binary. Like you either get good power or complete lugging. Many times I thought I should be okay in 3rd I just would barely move, even with the clutch boost.
-I remember seeing one or two really lush-looking maps in the early videos of this game (before they had a rider on the bike), but the ones released so far look pretty dated. Hoping the good stuff will come once the physics are more finalized.

Overall I love playing the bit of content on offer, and I can't wait to see where this game goes!

ITS FIRE BRAH.

Throwing fattys while your smoking fattys.

As a moto gamer we simply want one thing, free air physics that make sense. Someone finally gets it! (hodge & team).

A development team that actually motos and you can clearly tell by the gameplay and its only getting started.

For what it is at the moment, well worth the asking price. There are other m.x. games asking double the price and not as good as this in my opinion. Updates are very regular sometimes twice a week. A free demo is available so give it a try before you buy.

So far I'm enjoying this game. I think they are heading in the right direction. Plays pretty good for an alpha stage. I can only see this game getting better with time. Nice work Hodge and team. Looking forward to the future of this game.
Update: After a couple small updates, the game has started to feel better. The team is definitely listening to the community.

*Review made on the day the game was released. As the game updates I want to keep adding reviews.

Version 0.1.0

Physics wise:
- I enjoy the physics a LOT, Hodge has done a great job on it. Obviously there are some bugs and stuff that could use a bit of work, but overall they are not something that should stop you from getting the game;
- Some of the problems:
◇ Sometimes the front wheel seems to tuck a lot on the ground, like it was on very soft dirt, while I'm turning and I end up "oversteering" too much. It doesn't occur that much, but sometimes does;
◇ There is this loss of momentum when you hit big bumps or case a jump too hard, but I believe the developers already aknowledge that problem;
◇ Sometimes crashes are a little bit inconsistent;
◇ Sometimes the bike oversteers, sometimes it understeers, kind of at random (not all the time);
- The tracks and pre-made deformation are amazing combined with the physics, the ruts do grab you remarkably well. I don't believe there is any terrain deformation system yet, but it actually feels like the track changes a bit after a couple of laps (probably is my imagination);
- Suspension feels great and works well with the deformations and obstacles;

Gameplay wise:
- The game feels smooth for most of the time, sometimes there are a few FPS drops, but nothing major;
- I'm glad Hodge implemented a controls customisation option on the Settings menu, especially if you play using your keyboard (like me);
- The Reset funcion is a bit annoying. If you just press it you will respawn in the beginning area unless you set a track marker. And having to place a merker every time you crash to respawn on the spot is a bit annoying (wont stop me from paying it still);
- Sometimes after reseting the rider starts glitching, kind of a "seizure" glitch. But after respawning again it stops;
- Also sometimes when reseting the rider is shot upwards, crashing again;
- Also also, sometimes when reseting it resets the bike still laying on the ground, causing the rider to crash again;
- Sometimes the bike bogs, independently of what gear I'm at;
- Some people might complain about the sounds, but:
1- LCQ Studios warned sound was not one of their priorities;
2- The sounds are not that bad if you think about the statement above;
- Rider animations aren't great, but are also not bad (only kind of too sudden). Good job;
- At no point did the game crash! Very good thing for the release!

I know that this was the first ever release of MCTD, and some of the things I said above might sound a bit picky, but I hope this early review gets read by the developers and I hope I have helped in some way! Also, I know that this is a Phyics Demo, and that's why I left the Physics section separated.
Congratulations to the crew at LCQ Studios! I have been waiting for this game for a very long time (since 2019) and so far I am not disappointed! I'm more than happy to have bought the game at it's current state, and I highly recommend it!

SinisterNoize
SinisterNoize

So far, I've been enjoying the release, definitely in it's early stages, but like others have been saying and one could assume, this game is only going to get better, long term and in the immediate future.

I haven't put enough time into the game in my opinion so I'm not going to get into pros and cons or any critical comments on any aspect. I'm closing in on an hour of play time and I have ENJOYED the game thus far. Support these guys, pick up the game at this steal of a price, cause that's exactly what it is for a game in this genre. Nice job LCQ look forward the the evolution to come.

Hello everyone,

I would like to recommend you Motocross: Chasing The Dream. I rode 1848.8 on MX vs. ATV Reflex, 129 hrs on MX Bikes and 380+ hrs on MX Simulator. Obviously, it is an early access and there is a lot to do, but I can say that this game has serious potential. I can already feel that it would be a serious contender to MX Bikes by PiBoSo that I like a lot. Also, I wanted to say that I appreciate the fact that you can launch the game even if you don't have the most recent equipement (My config: Intel® Core™ i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, Windows 7 (64 bit) 8.0GB RAM, NVDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti). So try it out! I post this early on to encourage the game but I will edit this review in the future to speak more about the game itself!

As I don't have much to say for now, I'd like to recommend you the review of Kellen from Starts Your System: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jyh7vNUvC0k

Cheers.

As a long time follower of LCQ Studios i was super hyped for this early access release and i have not been let done. Game is OBVIOUSLY in VERY early access but lets be honest this game already feels better than MX VS ATV Legends.

I would like to see better bike sounds and the rider not be so stiff, and the corning is a litter weird maybe im just not super skilled but i did struggle alot in the corners .

I've been following this game's development casually for a long time. When I saw it was available, I had to purchase it.

The current state of the game is very sparse, has some bugs, and could use some features. That being said, I feel the physics are definitely going in the right direction. It's quick to grasp and feels a bit more loose than arcade MX games I'm excited to watch its progress..

Dear developers
you have asked for feed back and will give you some suggestions for something i think alot of people will love
1 it would be cool if once done with amatuer racing you move up to professional rank as in real life
2 enduro and enduro bikes. as a member of the enduro community its safe to say that very little games have alot of actual enduro races in them so theres defnitly a big gap in the market it would be cool to see that in your game if that happens il be very happy
3 the mods. i heard from one of my favourite youtubers, lynds that this game will be mod able that would be cool but to make life easy an ingame track/skin editor will come in very handy

i hope this message gets through to you and i think this game has a lot of potential and i have been waiting an eternity for this legendary game to come out so i bought it imediatly

thank you for your time

This game has so much potential and has a fantastic base for its physics.

Physics Pros:
-Feels very natural on the ground & in air
-hooking into the ruts in corers feels great
-challenging but not too much of a learning curve for what is supposed to be a sim/arcade style

Physics cons:
-A bit too much freedom in air (Allows for unrealistic motion if you just lean in any direction)
-momentum gets stopped a little too easily
-Needs more rider/bike lean left & right going up the face of jumps as well as in air

Visuals Pros:
-Scaling seems perfect
-tracks look and feel natural and not too over the top

Visuals Cons:
-Needs better optimization for lower performance PC's
-Rider animations

I feel like at this early stage these are the only things that can really be commented on. Amazing work so far and can't wait to see how the game progresses as we get closer to version 1.0

K2Lu

Pretty wicked tech demo. I am so excited for this games future. The game feels like a great mix between arcade and sim and has dual stick controls. Throwing big whips can get very addicting lmao, the physics feel completely free. Takes some time to learn and get used to, but this is a very fun game with a promising future ahead. Devs are very active with the community and thats what we need more of now days. Just pick it up fr.

so far i really enjoy this, hard to understand the physics etc but overall i see myself grinding this game. definitely need work, like when you re-spawn it sometimes sends you flying and brings you back to spawn. Overall i think it will get better and so far its a pretty good mx sim.

love this game!!! Super fun and has a ton of potential! Hodge already made a ton of progress in the few days it was out and I cant wait to see where it is gonna go from here! Props to him and the team for their hard work and especially for taking the time to listen to all of our feedback and make changes. I can see foresee this being the best moto game on the market. its about time someone took the time to perfect a game that appeals to all and not just the sim crowd. super pumped to see how this evolves!

So this is a great dirt bike game. I have played tons of dirt bike games including mx bikes, and mx simulator. This is a great game because to me, it feels like a mix of a simulator and arcade type dirt bike game which is why I love it.

So far I have only noticed 2-3 problems with this game in my opinion.
1. Need a new map quick, playing 1 map for an hour gets boring.
2. The in air physics. When I try to do a whip in air its just bad, it feels like your back tire is just stuck under you in mid air.
3. Need more bikes. As of now there is only 1 bike and its 2 stroke. The dev should make another bike and make it 4 stroke.

But buy this game, its very good and as time goes by it will get even better.

I got some hours in it, and personally I can already say that it is the best motocross physic out there. They succeed where all the others (2) big motocross companies are still trying to figure out how to do it (or they don't care about). Of course there is places for improvement, but the base is there. Now it is time to look for perfection!.. and only after that ... make it shine with a lot of content (terrain deformation, tracks, bikes, career mode, track editor, multiplayer, etc) ... can't wait to see the final result! but for now, let just put some others laps!

Best First person MX game period! Cant wait for full release. Gear selection is crucial as in real MX. I found the rider lean to be super helpful for catching ruts and it feels amazing when you hook one. The air physics are a little wonky, but I'm not sure what to change. I dont even play in 3rd person, IMO it's a way better experience in 1st. In 3rd person I can see what some people are saying about the bike floating in the air, but in 1st it feels perfect.
