It's a good, short and enjoyfull game with not that many grind. Since the automation update it was really fun to progress even further. Had a good time - thanks alot! Looking forward for the DLC.

For those of you who enjoy the gameplay loop of Stardew Valley, and like the look and feel of old school X-Com [circa mid 80s] and Fallout Shelter, this game is by far the most addicting game I've played in recent memory.
Pros
-Simple Gather and Survive gameplay
-New IP
-Still supported by the Developer
-Actual decent Story
Cons
-Even though the game never crashed, there was times I had to reload on account of my inventory disappearing, but this was in no way gamebreaking.
-Addicting gameplay.... see below

For a supposed adult holding down a job and providing for a family, I seriously considered calling off of work after a 7 hour long gameplay session that saw me play until 6am. I haven't done that since before my first kid was born, and she's 14!

Nothing to loose playing the demo, so if you don't like it, you've just spent a few hours of your life playing something different.. however if you DO like it, it's not all that expensive to add to your library.

Unfortunately, I've heard that the XBox version has alot of bugs, however I've got faith in the team that they'll iron it all out. Hope this helps guys, both us consumers, and the developers! Well done folks

Absolutely loved it. So much fun. It's basically a 3D Sidescroller with an emphasis on crafting. It made me want to prep for a future catastrophe! Lol. I think I got it for about $20. Worth every penny.

I've had a lot of fun with this one. Was a bit of a learning curve to start but then I found myself addicted to the game and the quest line. Being a Prepper isn't easy but very rewarding. Enjoy!

Mr. Prepper has been a wonderful game! Enough challenge to be fun but also kindof relaxing. Wonderful soundtrack. As with any game there is room for improvement but its not broken at all.

A fun game well put together. Relaxing sort of play.

An interesting survival crafting game where you must keep up appearances while making things!

Its an interesting game, though not really a 'prepper' game as (spoilers) you aren't really preparing for anything. Should be called 'Mr. Bunker' realistically.

Still a fun game! Didn't last more than it really had to, though I think some of the end goals were a bit grindy!

Just made it through 4 months! Not what I thought it would be like but it is actually a lot more fun then I thought. I find it relaxing but very interesting at the same time. can't wait to see how it all ends.

I like it. I got stuck on missions, just pay attention. I missed the foil and it had me reeling lol.

I don't know what to say about this game, the gameplay is addicting but annoying at the same time. This game's idea and genre is super fun; but those little annoying things like when you accidentally move your char to a place you don't want and when you move it to the place you want your char has to finish moving to the first place first, or when your inventory is like 179/180 and you want to pick up an item which has an amount of 5 you have to separate it manually to be able to take 1 from it, it won't automatically took only 1. I hope the devs could fix those bugs in the upcoming DLC because to be honest those little things almost making this game less enjoyable.

Fun take on the survival genre that's easy to sink some hours into. Looking forward to future DLC!

I would rate the game overall 9/10 but 10/10 if they add sex in the game. nice

For as old school style point and click game it's really fun. I'm not usually a fan of this style but I tried the demo and had to get it. Good game level difficulty choices and great music and tells you what the item you need for a task. Don't care for the mouse locked on one screen in the menu screen. This would be great on mobile.

I hate the thumbs up/thumbs down system because the game is fun. It's not like I wouldn't recommend it, but whoever buys it should be prepared. The problem is, the game is a little too tight. Resources are scarce. Ok, it's supposed to be challenging. But they are not just scarce, the locations where you can get them and quests completing which you can obtain them are scarce too. Both locations and quests get revealed little by little, so the gameplay is linear, and there are really no creative ways you can outflank that. No "This unexplored area of the map is risky but if I go there I might find more resources.", and the like. This severely limits your options to the point that sometimes it really feels like the gameplay is stuck.

I tied this game a few times. It's really just not got what I want out of a game. It lacks a ton of depth. This is more like a game you'd play on your phone for a few bucks.

It's tough. It's not like I disliked the game, it's just that I found it to be really underwhelming. I'm sorry, but most of the time I was thinking to myself how it felt more like a mobile game than anything else.
The early game was especially tedious, trying to get everything going, being limited by all the unlockables (crafting as well as locations) that are tied to a story that is bland, at best. Then, I reached a tipping point, and I was able to finish things very quickly, and all the other stuff got even more tedious, because it really wasn't that important anymore. But I still had to jump through all the hoops.
The base building aspect was probably most disappointing, as it's pretty shallow in its execution, and it's more about resource management than anything else. A lot of clicking. The game did not bring this to life for me.
This game does not deserve the tag "survival". You're living in a fricking suburban place, and you need to visit the woods and the mines a few times. Big whoop. You're attacked by wolves? Throw a grenade at them!
Mr. Prepper scratched an itch, but not very effectively. It's not as exciting a game as some of the others in the genre, so that can be nice, but there are definitely much better titles out there.

EpilepticDragon

The game wasn't what I expected. For the trailer doesn't show the part about being a criminal hiding from law enforcement. It only showed barely any gameplay building a little of the basement. There's a free game I've played played much better.

VonStreed

It's okay. It is just very amateurish in quality and has some frustrating mechanics/ui. It is also very monotonous. get it cheap if you really need something to play.

Talieanna

Story is interesting, sometimes a bit slow, but makes for it in other areas.
I enjoy the complexity of MMO style grind with story focused progression.
You could bide your time in the world forever and build a majestic underground palace... if you want.
Some areas that are lacking are very small glitches here and there-desert, inability to save without ending the day, lack of backstory on some of the characters or places (that may be just a me thing), and lack of a progressive mechanic after finished with "Levels".
Overall A

Very linear game that is straight up monotonous. Anyone who knows me knows I don't mind a grindy game so when I say something is monotonous it is bad. I see the tags Survival, Base Building and Crafting and lose my mind, these are all things I love but this game delivers none of them well and forces you to do it all in a certain way, no freedom at all. Avoid this game unless it is on a deep sale.

relatively linear, however it really makes you feel like you're prepping for the nuclear apocalypse in the 80's. i really love this game

I LOVE this game! I am treasuring it because it serves my niche interest of home-steading/apocaylpse atmosphere. I only play sims but my boyfriend got this for me and it's awesome!!!!!! It is not too hard on the easy level. I am not much of a video gamer---but this is really turning a page for me!

K-Bone

This game is very strange. It's certainly unusual and original and I respect the ideas that went into it. It's also just not very good.

It blends a lot of genres but doesn't do any of them very well - the combat is possibly the worst I've ever seen in a game, it's that bad. It has a weird flappy bird minigame and, although it bills itself as a base builder, it isn't really one - you only need to build a couple of rooms. It's also not a great resource management game as you'll end up with way too much of some resources while very slowly grinding up others (being able to buy 2x electronics every other day when late game upgrades cost 30+ electronics).

Despite that I kind of liked it - it's very sincere and it's not very long so if you're looking for something a bit different and don't mind it being incredibly janky, give it a go. Also it looks rubbish.

Mr Prepper is a boat load of fun. The main antagonist in Mr Prepper is time. You've got so many tasks to complete, you need to build your shelter, make connections so you can get the materials you need to escape, eat, sleep, cook, collect food and materials, trade, craft, plant and maintain crops, all while maintaining a clean, inconspicuous home that will get inspected weekly stocked with not only the maximum of each item, but the minimum too. Oh and I forgot to mention the random disasters the game peppers in after a little while too just to make things a little more interesting, it is the apocalypse after all. The power will go out, the water will get turned off, which the government uses as an excuse to monitor your usage more closely.

Mr Prepper is basically The Sims + Punch Club + Fallout Shelter + Rust + State of Decay combined. Not dissing the game, I love Mr. Prepper, and all the games I think it's similar to as well. If you're into any of the games I mentioned or anything in the genre don't miss this one.

Mr. Prepper is quirky but enjoyable. While it lacks polish and does somewhat feel like a mobile game, it's the kind of game that I wish more mobile developers would make. As with most survival games, the key to this one is balance: the main challenge is figuring out how to fulfill the plot objectives and expand your capabilities while meeting your basic needs (food, sleep, concealing your subversive activities from the oppressive government...). It's rather grindy at first, but once you go from gathering and subsistence farming to growing cash crops the pace improves, and maxing out your workbench to build some of the automation devices really helps you get more time for exploring. The story is nothing special, but it is tongue-in-cheek enough to be humorous.

My main complaint with the game is that time passes a little too quickly (about one minute per second), and doesn't pause when you're doing certain things like looking through the trade menu. So just getting through your morning routine takes up half the day. The translation could also use some work; on the other hand, the way that the conversations are just a little off and the dates are backwards kinda adds to the overall "evil government conspiracy" vibe.

Final verdict: not perfect, but good enough for a breather in between more serious games. Try the demo first.

Bless the President!

So enjoyable! Felt frustrated at times, managing my meagre money and trying not to smash my whole house to pieces for resources. Definitely got into a rhythm. Tight story, cute characters. Did not like the driving!
Would really recommend it.

So this is a decent enough game, though I feel the devs deserve a poor review for the "dlc" that's a cash grab and includes stuff that should have been in the game to begin with.

Initially seemed like a decent game unfortunately just another "farming resources" game with little reward

There are plenty of good life management sims out there. Even though this one might be a bit lack lustre, at least Mr. Prepper is covering a new subject.

First impressions weren't too good for me. I found the overall presentation fairly tacky and without much charm. But like most management sims, the graphics and whatnot aren't really top priority. It's the game-play that should stand out and unfortunately, I found this one to be a bit too slow for my liking. Don't get me wrong, all the crafting and building mechanics work fine, but I did find it hard to build up some momentum from day to day.

I'm thumbing this up because this is far from a bad game, it's just not my bag. If you like the premise and the genre, it'll definitely do the job. There really are no other games where you make a shelter underground shelter as a prepper (except maybe Fallout shelter). But maybe wait till it's on sale.

I emailed in a bug, and they promised to fix it on the very next patch. And then they did. It's good to see a company that cares about product quality.

Otherwise this is a fun little game that's well worth buying and playing, although it has little replay value.
