Mystery of Mortlake Mansion is definitely kicking it Old School, but I really liked this game. All the artwork is hand drawn, something you don't see much anymore, and although it may seem a bit repetitive, the story line is good, the game mechanics are well done (especially for 12 years ago), and if you play without the map, its quite challenging. It's got some GREAT puzzles: lots of Cat's Cradles (a personal favorite), one Lights On/Lights Off (which I'll rate as difficult), one Hanoi Towers, and the rest are fairly simple. You have to find crystals throughout the game and place them in the proper panels. This allows you to have two views of each room - a normal view and a "shadow" view. There are also diary notes to find and a couple of potions to brew. All in all, a most enjoyable venture into an old mansion that kept me busy quite a few hours!
did enjoy the game, decent length, took me just over 9 hrs to go through the game. hint was quite good and on a small screen the hidden object scenes some items weren't hard to see and the ones that weren't easy well hint found them. recommend the game.
I love this game. Take this review with a grain of salt, as I played this one as a kid because it was at the school that I went to and thus I have lots of nostalgia for it. However, this game has incredible atmosphere with beautiful hand drawn visuals which greatly immerse you in the story. The music is incredibly fitting for this game, and the story is quite interesting. The puzzles are usually great, and there are tons of variety with the types of puzzles available, but the search and find segments do get tedious after a while. 7.1 hours is what it took me to beat this game twice, but I already had previous knowledge of the game before, so your game might take longer. The characters in the game are quite interesting, and the voice acting is great, except for the Raven, whose cawing business gets annoying quickly, but is stopped once you give him a potion to talk normally. In conclusion, the visuals, music, and story are great, and the characters and voice acting are mostly great as well. This is one of the most underrated games of all time and I feel so lucky to have been able to play this game for many years. This game came out in 2011, but was not released on Steam until 2022, so get this one please and support this game.
This game has been interesting. Graphics look a little dated but I like them, almost like a comic book. Love the story line and the entire atmosphere. Puzzles are good, not too hard but I wasn't able to breeze through them. My only issue is the cut scene dialogue. Its way too much. After every puzzle there is dialogue. Other than that I really am enjoying this game.
This game is very interesting. It keeps you guessing from one spot to another. It's one of the better games that I have played.
Well designed hidden object adventure game with smooth mechanics and a good storyline. The hidden object scenes are some of the best ever done. Took about 5 hours to play which is just about right for this type of game. This is a remastered version and is well done. Enjoy!
This is a classic HOG with extra twists and turns. There are no fancy cut scenes but the scenery is lovely and it is obvious that great care was taken in writing the story-line and designing the gameplay. The items in some HOG scenes are hard to see but the hint recharges quickly so for a relaxed gaming, I used it liberally. Apart from that, this is a pleasant, casual game.
I recommend this game for all ages.
In case you like Mystery / hidden object games, try this one out. Has a nice storyline & some cool features.
Great Game! Many similarities to other Hidden object games but with quite a few twists. Great way to relax and just play.
I enjoyed this game. The graphics are unusual but beautiful. Not to hard and not to easy. Story line can be followed and makes sense in a supernatural way :)
I began this adventure and then had thoughts that I may not enjoy this game: but as I got into it and into the gameplay and pattern, I had a good time. It is quite different from the usual AHOG. It was easy to see the love put into the development. The HOs can be hard to see, they are so tiny, altho I rarely needed to use the hint.
The hint is a huge help as it doesn't need charging. The game is very relaxing, easy-going and the puzzles are not challenging. I can recommend it.
