The game requires you to click through the same 9 or so screens, with different lists of items. None of the screens change between levels, and there are 25(!) levels in total. Each level ends with a simple slide puzzle or word-search.

Pretty solid old school hidden object game, has many improvements over the last game.
Mainly in having a greater variety of mini games and overall better designed and more enjoyable locations to play on.

While it may be easier than the first game, i don't see it as a bad thing, as it can be helpful for less experienced players who still wish to not play on relaxed mode.

Overall is something i will recommended. :)

Plenty of gameplay and the art and objects are fairly well done. Little to no story to link it all together. Reused environments, make it all a little boring after a while. I would have enjoyed it at half the length and a bit more sleuthing.

Alright. Finally, the fourth of the Mystery P.I. Games I got in the Popcap bundle is played through completely.

To summarize: we have the same game mechanics (search for hidden objects as the main part of the level, then solve a puzzle or search for words at the end of each level). We have the same flavor of story (private investigator, money at stake, limited time - though this can be eliminated with the relaxed mode, which I did, since I don't like being rushed). We have the same objects for the most part.

Six hours of gaming time logged on this game were the game running on idle in the background. Other than that, I took it pretty slow and relaxed for my standards.

Like the other Mystery P.I. games, and the hidden object game Escape Rosecliff Island, I do not recommend this game unless you really really like this type of game, or you can get it cheaper in a bundle or with one of Steam's offers.

Also, I think I might just have lost my sane mind by playing all five hidden object games in less than one month. I must have. I'm seeing hidden objects in real life already. Time to put it to an end and focus on other enjoyable games. FINALLY.

I love the Mystery P.I. games. They are faithful to HOG fans, the artwork is wonderful, and the game is very engaging. I enjoyed the puzzles. This is very well done. I wish they offered more in this series. I would snap up all of them.

Poop, it's working! Someone found a workaround for the missing executable by trying to download the demo and the game will update and works! Yay!

But I can already tell you what it's in Mystery PI - The Vegas Heist... I played a retail version years ago :).

Your role is to find the loot from an heist and who did it. Yeah, the plot isn't revelant here.

Mystery PI: The Vegas Heist is in reality a fine example of pure Hidden Objects game: list of items to find in a scene with many of them, a puzzle, a list of items, etc... In other words, you don't have the adventure side included.

If you find special objects, you'll unlock the mode Unlimited Seek and Find - clean the scene!

The score determine your rank. How is it possible? Each object found is worth of 5000 points. If you're being fast to find them in row, you have a bonus. Special objects (fingerprints, keys, poker chips) are also adding a high bonus to your score. And if you're clearing the level of all objects (instead of choosing to solve the puzzle when you have between two and four items still in the scenes), you can score a 25 000 bonus points for a perfect investigation.

Anyway, the scenes are correct, I love the music there and it's a nice improvement from the Lottery Ticket. Yet, if you're used to HO games like Artifex Mundi's, you'll be disappointed in that plain game. You're always seeing the same scenes, the same puzzles, well, you're going to be bored if you need action.

But given the fact that I've appreciated this game a long time ago, I would say: buy this classic, not a full price though. And don't forget the workaround!

It`s a nice casual game. I prefer it more than rosecliff island and amazing adventures.

There isn't much to say that hasn't already been said. The Mystery P.I. series is among the earliest and more popular Hidden Object Only games. This particular edition asks the player to find 25 keys and casino chips in order to unlock "bonus" gameplay material. What the game doesn't tell you is that you score a million point bonus if you also manage to locate 25 fingerprints sprinkled about the game as well. All of this uber-casual gaming fun is, of course, in addition to the hidden objects in each area. One negative reviewer mentioned that the same areas are repeated several times as you play the game. While this is true, the list of objects does randomly change so you can't just zip through by remembering the first batch of object you found in the earlier scene.

HOG have become much more sophisticated over the years, with the Mystery Case Files franchise pioneering woven story threads and sometimes maddening puzzles that must be solved in order to complete the game. Fans of these "deeper" games number in the millions and sometimes it seems as if they could each play different games without any two folks playing the same one. There's a saying in the Southern United States... you can't swing a dead cat around without hitting a few of them. It definitely applies to this genre of casual games. BUT... if you have children that are just honing their nascent gaming skills and observational abilities, or older relatives that are new to computing (I know they're out there because I have several relatives that are just learning how to use computers) this series is the perfect introduction. Each of the Mystery P.I. games is educational, entertaining, and is an excellent tool to assist elderly folk beginning to deal with the onset of Alzheimers or any of the vile diseases that plague us in our golden years. I still drag these out of my "completed games" folders every now and again and tear through them just for the nostalgia value, so I definitely got my money's worth out of them!

What more can you say? This is a solid game. Good atmosphere and music. If you enjoy casual game, this is a good game. You unlock a very nice game mode towards the end which is very satisfying.

This is an older game but for folks that don't want a story and enjoy hidden object scenes, this is your game. It's a nice, relaxing and fun few hours and it's at the best price during the summer sale. . . .
I play these types of games with my 4 yr old grandson, it helps him learn how to find items and he doesn't get all bored and wonder off, like he does during other HOG story portions. . .

Short version: 41%

Mystery P.I. 2 is an ancient hidden object game with low resolution, overcrowded scenes, and large repetition. Only get it if you like old-school HOGs, because it holds little entertainment value otherwise.

Long version:

Mystery P.I. 2: The Vegas Heist is the simplest kind of sequel, because it changed nothing, just got bigger. It is still a pure hidden object game, where gameplay consists of repeating the same low-resolution screens with increasingly tighter time limits; only here, we get 25 different stages instead of 20.

This increase pushes game time over 10 hours, which sounds good at first, but not after playing the same stage for the 12th time. The average quality also suffered, with scenes that form one monochrome blob or do the opposite, add as many colours as the monitor allows, which just strains the eyes.

If you liked the first game enough to want more of it, then Vegas Heist may suit your needs. Otherwise, it is just too old and repetitive to enjoy playing through the entire main game mode.

Ok. This is another entry into the Myster P.I. Series of games. It's just a HOG. There's not really alot of story. I know some people have opinion on that but it is what it is. Ther are 25 locations and 25 levels. After completing all the locations for the level there will usually be a mini game of some type. After you finish all the levels you will be asked to solve some simple riddles with a list of items as the answer. The graphics are dated but they shove alot of stuff at you on the screen so it's not too bad. If you like Pure HOG's then you'll love this. If you like storyline or puzzles you might want to pass.

TLDR: The faux-3D screenshots have all the items blend into each other due to low asset quality. Game weighs under 50 megabytes total. Dont bother.

There is something very satisfying about finding things that have been cleverly hidden. This is obviously not for anyone looking for an Action or RPG game, but will probably be enjoyed by anyone who likes puzzles. The items are actually very clear and sharp so I feel it is a fair game, which I can't say about every game in this category. But I have played through this one a couple of time (much more than 20 hours actually) and tend to rotate through the others in this series from time to time. It might be old and not very "exciting" but instead pleasant and enjoyable and good for anyone who wants to keep their memory and mind sharp.

I'm 67 yrs old. there isn't much game wise for seniors, but the Mystery PI selection really keep the synapse firing!!! There are two more, PI games, Lost in San Francisco, and The London Caper that are not offered here to bad, I would get those as well!!!

I like Mystery PI games, it makes me relax and sharpen my observation skills at the same time. Time pressure...but not really, I've never been short on time finding all objects.
