like their previous work, OPUS: Rocket Of Whispers is a good interactive experience on 1 playthrough.

If you want gameplay, there's close to none. This is basically 2D walking simulator with limit exploration time each loop.

If you want to spare some free time with some good artwork, music, and story, it's worth a buy.

Aside from the beautiful soundtrack, what really amazes me about this game is the world building, and the atmosphere it created. Wondering and exploring alone in the dead town/city, hearing all the voices from the lost souls and from the past, it makes you imagine what this place used to be, and how it turned out like this. It is a very unique way to tell a story.

The loneliness, the sadness, the grief, the emptiness, frustration, helplessness, along with the little hope when I launch the rockets, these are emotions that I rarely feel in one game. People say the gameplay, which is simply walking around and collecting stuff, is boring, but it is somehow what I really enjoy about this game.

More of a story than a game, (but not on the levels of a visual novel) and I am all for it. Man, coming back to this after playing it on mobile, I finally managed to finish the game.
While the story is what I judge the most in Story Rich games, characters are second. OPUS: Rocket of Whispers manages to take a lonely world and fill it up with just two characters and shape a world outside of the dialogue.
However, that all changes after the end and the vast whiteness becomes a distant memory to not only the spirits but to the players. Kinda sad now that I think about it, especially when one starts to think about the future after the player...

Just wanted to leave a positive review to support Sigono as I do enjoy their games.

This game was absolutely heartwarming. Game play simple, character speed felt right, and every single advance in the story felt so natural. Cannot recommend this game enough for a great afternoon experience. 9$ may seem high (I received it for less but regardless), but I have seen people spend 20 for a movie with popcorn that was mediocre. So take that as you will.

just boring
most dialogues don't matter, the gameplay itself is just walking around and there's a few "events" which don't really affect

the gameplay (example, a wolf bites you, you just continue walking like usual and it doesn't affect the story at all)
the art, UI, and everything feels like it's an early access game, not a full one

and the characters don't grow until the last 30 minutes of the game

Beautiful storytelling. In a world that is freezing and probably dying, the gentle spark in between those two warms my heart. PS: I personally like the idea that in afterlives everyone will reunit, nowadays death is the only thing that we share in common.

So many feels! The gameplay is simple and easy, but I found it so addictive I had to see how it ends. Really great game and very well presented. Just shows what a beautiful game can be made without flashy expensive graphics.

One thing that may annoy some people is the camera moves around a bit when the person is walking. It gives some impact to the player, as it portrays the movement of walking through heavy snow or in a snow storm.

Short game, but just long enough for what it is - any longer without a major change in the gameplay would have made it feel stale and boring.

Pros:
* Beautiful scenery
* Simple yet moving cutscenes
* Story has many feels

Cons
* At first I was a little disappointed with how easy it is. It's more of a visual graphic novel than a game. But there are some challenging bits looking for collectibles.
* Characters have a limited set of animations, so that can be annoying.
* While the camera is interesting and conveys the weather and surroundings, I'm sure some people may find it annoying.

It is not often that I find myself sitting down to issue forth a review these days. However, to not bring light to a game I feel might be missed simply because it seems to have been on mobile first would be an injustice. The PC port is polished and can easily be played with mouse and keyboard. While the gameplay is a simple Search & Find formula that is not what the shining star of this game is meant to be. As you explore your get to know about the lore through artifacts you find or wandering spirits. Each day brings a bit more of the dynamic between the two characters and by the end you may come to realize what I did, the writing here is where attention needs to be praised.

As a writer myself I can catch things here and there, but I was taken by surprise by the reveals and the conclusion. Some smart decision making was made to let the writing outshine everything else and it shows. I will leave it all at that, but the soundtrack is a must have once you finish. All-in-All a solid game that should be experienced by anyone loving good writing. Enjoy.

Full Disclosure: My friend bought me the game and urged me to play it.

Wow... I absolutely loved this game. I pretty much couldn't stop playing it.

It is a short game, pretty much took me around 4 to 5 hours to complete, and I managed to get all the achievements for only playing it like I usually do. But the game already makes you have all those emotions in just a short matter of time.

The music was breathtaking and it made the emotions you feel much more better. Beautiful music for a beautiful game.

The artwork was also beautiful and matched the game well, different and unique to the type of game.

I also loved the characters interactions and how they both were with each other until the end of the game. :)

As they say, Short but sweet. And it's a nice buy if you're looking for a short game to play whenever with a cheap price. ^_^ So, yes. I'd recommend it definitely. :P

It may not seem all that great for others since you're just going around a desserted area looking for materials, and some "side quests" with the same concept. It's a story rich game.

Unfortunately, in my opinion, as much as I enjoyed the experience, I recommend buying it while ON SALE. It's not the kind of game you'd play over and over again, plus since it's too short, it doesn't seem worth the purchase at full price.

- nice soundtrack
- really good story
- love the design
- short gameplay, but the ending didn't make it feel like it was cut short
- VERY emotionally moving

SIGONO mentioned how they planned to sort of turn it into a survival type of game, but dropped it and just left players with the time to worry about. This is so that players can immerse themselves in the story rather than focus on obsessing over collecting the materials. I think it was a good call considering what their aim is; to create games that move and inspire.

There's also the mystery of what happened to Fei before John. Good thing Sigono already made Rocket of Whispers: Prologue! Yeah boiii!!

A very enjoyable story wrapped in a game with mechanics interesting enough to keep you playing. I was too invested in the story to want to stop playing, so I finished it in one sitting and loved it.
The developers have said that they 'want to bring people joy through their games by creating unique, heartfelt experiences' and I certainly think they've succeeded in that with Opus: Rocket of Whispers.

P.S. Don't forget to listen to the developer commentary after finishing the game.

I loved "OPUS: The Day We Found Earth", it was an indie delight that I completed in one sitting. This one also charming, with excellent visual style and a good soundtrack. Unfortunately, the gameplay feels unnecessarily padded by long stretches of walking and annoying backtracking, however that alone was fine. The story was okay, I guess, although it did not grip me as much as the predecessors. Main reason for that was the completely unbelievable behavior of the protagonist: John is an annoying, childish, one-dimensional main character -- even considering the fact that he was left on his own since he was 10(ish), his behavior towards Fei and the world in general totally destroyed my emotional investment in his fate. Even the final moments of the game did not really redeem him in my eyes, he remained a spoiled brat in an adult body. I also did not care for the "strobe-light" effects in the blizzard towards the ending, this should not be necessary (and it was indeed unexpected) and is a big issue for some people, including myself (major discomfort with light flickering effects).

Mildly recommended for the charm of Fei, the neat production values (especially some of the songs), for being overall a positive experience despite one or two major flaws and ultimately, because I want more artful, peaceful, story-based games in the future. If there will be another OPUS game, I will give it a look as well.

Edit: Fixed embarrassing typo.

Emblem Parade

I enjoyed OPUS: The Day We Found Earth, but this game doesn't work for me.

For one, it tries far too hard with the story. Within the first five minutes you get the entirety of what you need to know, but the game keeps banging you on the head with it again and again. There is no development: not in the 2-dimensional exaggerated characters and not in the plot. To top it off, the pseudo-religious message is insultingly simplistic.

The gameplay is likewise tedious. It's more sophisticated than that of The Day We Found Earth, but it's also unsatisfying. You explore a map and find items, but there's no real adventure or delight in discovery. All items end up just being items to find. To add insult to injury, for some annoying reason you're given only a short amount of time to explore the world before being sent back to the beginning. This very quickly becomes frustrating.

With this game the devs tried too hard to be profound, but ended up being pretentious instead.

I'll be a fly in the ointment to say that I didn't like this game. I found the game play very clunky. I got sick of the interrruptions of the ghosts and didn't like the limited time to search. I've played over 2.5 hours and didn't feel connected enough to the characters to continue the journey.
John was an angry and childish character. Fei was little Miss Perfect. Wasn't enamoured of the pseudo religion and the need for the space burial. A map was required to find the necessary equipment. I kept on getting lost and once John's character became overwhelmed by the ghosts and the game stalled. When I returned to it, all my progress for that session was lost.
A very overrated game. Some might like it, but not me. Better games out there. 5/10.

I enjoyed the experience very much. This is an example of where proper direction can make the whole game greater than the sum of its parts.

Pros:
-A well crafted atmosphere that just sucks you in
-Lovely art and at the same time an astute choice of style to marry the game's tone
-The ambient music that just complements the story so well
-Lores/collectible scattered around the map that rewards exploring your surroundings

Cons:
-This was originally made for phones/pads I think, so playing it on the mouse and keyboard felt jarring and unintuitive at times
-As an extension of the above point about the lores/collectible - a portion of them don't really add to the experience and end up feeling like a fetch quest. Had this aspect been handled tighter, it would be a full plus as opposed to a double-edged sword.

It's a walking simulator, but OPUS has enough interaction to pass the bar for me, even if it is a near-railroad; the only choices seem to be how completionist you want to be. It's a gentle thing that feels generally sad and contemplative.

I liked the game. The story was nice, and it is worth playing. I do struggle, however, to see why it got such positive feedback. The story is good, not great. The only reason I enjoyed it is because this is the style of game I enjoy (as in, story driven) and the story is reasonably thought out. There wasn't enough emotional engagement, however, for my liking. Obviously not every game will be a 10/10, but I thought there were certain aspects of the game that could have gone deeper. The female role is good, but the male's contributions to the story are minimal.
Overall, worth playing but don't expect a great game, just a good one.

For honesty, I liked the game ! about the art and style and music and all, except three things I had to point to, the reason why I don't recommend this game :

1-the game doesn't make you feel like you've completed the story, this applies to both rocket of whispers and the day we found earth as their endings felt like something you've done in a rush as if "We can't stand this game anymore hurry up and end it !"

2-the story is very blurry and forces itself into your mind, it lacks a lot of information and purpose, it didn't really make any sense and this made the charm of the game incredibly hard to find .However it does give a bit of emotional experience .

3-the game play is so poor in a way that makes the game feel like a short movie rather than an actual game, everything happens passively till the end and the decisions you take are very limited, I mean the only thing you get to decide is where to go searching for specific things .

*this is surely because the studio is still small and not so experienced, but if you're buying the game for the sake of the experience, I Don't recommend that, the game is rather bought for supporting the creators .

OPUS: Rocket Of Wishper is a game with simple but annoying gameplay mechanic and a wonderful story. The game take place in the OPUS series universe, yet not a sequel to the previous game.
The story resolves in an apocalyptic world, years after the great mysterious plague that decimate the population and causing the weather control system of the planet broken, causing the planet into long hard winter. John, the only remaining survivor of the plague, for years has been haunted by many spirit of the deceased, which is odd, as only witch can see spirit of the deceased. Fei, the witch of 46th generation, the last of the witch, who is sent into cryogenic sleep during the plague, only to awaken to the world that remains. Together they tried to built rocket to send the spirit to the cosmos, where they should've been.

The game is quite straight foward, almost a walking simulator game, but doing exploring is actually interesting as it will reveal many lore of the world. Even though you could explore, the inability to run make it hard to explore and you probably spend many time during the game to only walk. The control is also not pleasant, which is also a problem.
The atmosphere of the game fit the narrative .The soundtrack of this game fit with the atmosphere of the game, and the art style of the game. all of this, including the art style of the game is the pros of the game beside the story.

9 / 10 Very Recommended if you into story rich game

Compared to mobile version this one is better priced, and you don't need to buy soul stones to complete all achievements — they drop far more generously and some harder achievements are not present here.
Also performance is better, keyboard shortcuts are implemented

The game is quite simple gameplay-wise, the story enjoyable (but with an open ending).

Generally, aside from the nice graphics, I found the game to be too slow and uneventful, especially considering the time based mechanics of the game make exploring the world irritating. You walk around playing as an angry guy and collect materials. You give the materials to a nice sweet girl who uses them to build rockets to send ghosts into space as a "space burial". The guy emotionally abuses this sweet girl the entire time and yells at every ghost. Your reward for collecting is more sob story (because everyone is dead), tools that allow you to go collect in another area, or crafted collectibles, which have no more value than their description and image. The characters are flat and don't change until very near the ending. After the ending, if you think about what happens next, it's not really a good ending at all.

Don't waste your time, and especially don't waste your money, because I know I did.

This story is shockingly beautiful and moving. The whole idea around sending souls to the stars seems very distant from reality yet it feels so close to my heart and so true.
The game itself is very simple and absolutely focuses on human interactions, dialogues and emotions.
And as usually it heavily connects you to the music which creates the atmosphere.
Heart warming, goosebumping masterpeice for those who look for a bit more content than just a video game experince.

There's a bit more variety here than in the first game, Opus: The Day We Found Earth. But they're pretty similar: simple, short, games where you discover more about the background of the universe you're in as the story progresses.

The art's decent, as is the soundtrack. Although things do get a bit repetitive in all departments.

There can also be some frustration, as discovering where to go next can be confusing and unclear sometimes. There are also some very small areas and paths you have to find, which make them feel almost like hidden object sections.

There's nothing revolutionary here, but it's worth the small amount of time and money you'll put into it, assuming this is the sort of experience you're in the mood for. It's pretty relaxing, for the most part.

Play the other game first - if you like it, then move on here, and keep exploring with Opus.

It is quite clear that this game should be played in short burts and it comes from the mobile gaming world

That being said, the artwork is lovely, the music is great. I did enjoy the story quite a bit. It's short, sure, but the crafting and collecting is fun and it just has a unique feeling to it all. It sure is slow and it doesn't feature any actual combat whatsoever.

Sigono's work is emotionally subtle, which builds into a (bitter)sweet ending. I consider their work a blessing.

Be aware that the pacing (gameplay & story) is on the slow side, but I expect that is intentional. It works into the overall emotional design. Faster pacing wouldn't fit. Let the game take its time and it will be worth your time.

After playing the "Opus: The Day We Found Earth" I was quite excited to play this game (an indirect prequel, in some sense) and bought it straight away. Alas, due to the circumstances, I could not get to it immediately. Perhaps, I should have - maybe, the charms of the first game would have improved my sadly lacking experiences with this instalment.

The gameplay is quite simple - go collect resources, make tools from them to open new areas, pick up some collectibles (memories) along the way to uncover the world's story. Finally, build rockets. Not too bad on paper but the core concept is negatively affected by being able to only do so much in one run which would be OK if:
* The game actually made you do some logistics or management decisions affecting the gameplay - i.e. pick up that piece of equipment because it will not be there tomorrow, - but none if it is present: you can spend as many days as you want roaming the landscapes, so what's the point in artificially padding out the game's length?
* There would be no items or ghosts appearing only after a certain amount of time has passed - had to spent three days getting the shattered mining statue, whilst it should have been there the first time I stumbled upon the relevant building - furthermore, I have not just come across it by an accident, I had already been in possession of the required info, so to say.

Among other disappointing things about the gameplay:
* Invisible walls ("oh, I won't go there, even though I can, but I just won't, bo-hoo")
* Fences - most of them can only be cut from one side - why ?!

But the main issue of this work is not the gameplay but the story - primitive, with boring bland characters and personally unrelatable topics which are on top of that are not fleshed out to even a smallest degree.

Additionally, the graphics suffer both from the artistic issues - most of the buildings look the same, the "goal" and "angry" ghosts differ way too little in their colours, lots of forest paths are barely visible, - and the technical issues - acceptable textures for the buildings mix with the snow-covered rock texture which is abysmally blurry and pixelated.

Lastly, the achievements are not recorded on the MacOS.

Overall, a pretty bad game, which I would not recommend. There are better walking simulators around here, with the intricate plot or at least some pleasing visuals.

The only nice thing about the game is the music.
Does not save it, not in the slightest.

johntohill
johntohill

A recommendation with some significant caveats.
On the positives I have to say I warmed to the overall story. In a nutshell, a couple of the last people alive following a massive plague have to band together to build rockets to enable the spirits of the departed find peace in the stars. It's great, original, and you have a purpose right from the start.
Gameplay is pretty rudimentary. You explore a frozen overworld, find material to craft items to enable you to unlock more of the map, to enable you to collect the items needed to build the rockets. It's hardly a spoiler to say that the first few attempts go awry, given that they're blatantly called out in the achievements list! And each night you return to the rocket base to get more snippets of the story and some flashbacks into the past.
Where it falls down is that there is literally no challenge. Death at the hands of hostile ghosts or wildfire has zero penalty. There is no time limit, you're free to take as many days as you like exploring the world. The side missions ("mission" is being generous, it's basically collect/craft a specific item at the request of a friendly ghost) seem to randomly appear throughout the game, often in areas you have no incentive to return to, and I only found some of them myself as I got a little lost - this being due to the fact there is no real map in the game, and the directions you are given to find the next area to search for crafting material is vague enough that it takes a bit of exploring around to find your way.
What really hurt the experience for me was the fact the more main of the two main characters, John, is an insufferable prat. Even as a child he comes across as a wee annoying shit. And he is this way to the extent that I'm not invested in any potential character arc. He's just not a nice or relatable character in any way, or enjoyable to be around, or listen to, or to have onscreen. The game tries to help his portrayal out by shedding some light on his past but it's to no avail. Going through the trauma of losing one's parents does not a relatable character make.
So given all that I was a bit luke warm on the game come the end. The music sure is nice though. Worth a go if you don't mind anime-influenced artsy games with some light crafting and exploration and visual novel style conversations.

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers is a fun little game. The story is told in visual novel style, with lovely illustrations. In between scenes you explore locations on a top-down map looking for stuff to build a spaceship with. Each time you return to base and craft something, a bit more lore or storyline is unlocked. It's paced very well.

It's worth bearing in mind that this is a very tropey anime story. We are in some distant apocalyptic future where everybody has died and the only two people left in the world act like impetuous children. The characters are constantly bickering and whining, which would be irritating if the overall presentation wasn't so earnest. It feels like watching a cartoon from your childhood that you don't quite remember how it played out. Which is to say, it's not going to take you anywhere you haven't been before, but it does feel comforting to go on the journey. Good Sunday afternoon game.

Ever since I first played the preview on my phone back in 2017 this game has stuck in the back of my head. Now, 4 years later I have finally completed OPUS: Rocket of Whispers.

From the story to the music, artstyle to the gameplay, everything comes together to create a unique experience which I have never experienced in any other game. The game has a slow start, and the way the game plays takes a short time to get used. Though once you get enough equipment the world will open up for you, allowing to fully explore this post-apocalyptic world. Although the game is only 3-4 hours in length, it feels like it is the perfect time to tell this story. Nothing is dragged out and the game leaves gaps in just the right places for the player to fill in.

I'd give this game a solid 8.5/10

Rather than a game, I would say it is a 2D walking simulator embedded with a very nice story.

A good short game with a touching story.

You explore an abandoned city in search of resources and parts needed to build a rocket, finding ghosts and artifacts of the past along the way. Daytime is limited, and when it gets dark, you need to return home. Eventually, you'll acquire the gear needed to venture further. It sets a good pace for the story to unfold.

I enjoyed the game a lot and looking forward to the next one in the series.

A massive step up from The Day We Found Earth.
After playing Echo of Starsong, I got hooked on Sigono and their games, so I decided to pick up the OPUS franchise bundle. Already knowing The Day We Found Earth is their first game in the series and (probably) also their first game ever made, I didn't put my expectation high. Still, it left a bitter taste in my mouth. It's not bad, but it's just very mediocre and I don't understand the very positive reviews it has. So I was a bit worried when I played Rocket of Whispers. However this time it didn't disappoint me. It still has flaws, but it is a much better game and I like it a lot.
Let's go with the bad part first: gameplay. You explore the abandoned city and it's surrounding to find resources, materials to build rockets (main story). Along the way, you will find small objects of the world before. They are mere collectibles and with them, you can craft artifacts to reveal some stories of the past of other people in this world. They are like hidden text/lore and they serve nothing to the main story. Ignore them if you want because collecting them can make the gameplay become very boring at times. In this game, you can't run, you move quite slowly and there is only so much things you can collect before night and you have to go back to your base. When you start a new day you will always be at the same place (later you can collect maps to travel to specific locations, doing so will cost you time of the day. The time it takes is a bit longer than manually traveling but you won't have to waste your time walking. Pick your poison).
The story is quite simple, yet beautiful. Two different, lonely person in a destroyed world, work together because they have a same goal but different motives. The more you progress, the more you learn about their past, their struggle and their reasons, why they are doing this. Toward the ending, it will reveal that actually they are not so different at all and their connection is there, they just don't remember it. The ending was a bit frustrating but everything was clear after the credit roll. To me, every arc of the game is good (especially the last arc leading to the ending) and the soundtrack plays a big part of it. You feel it as you play. The rare joyful moment, the usually chill but a bit sad moments, the time of despair, hope, the climactic part of the game, you feel them all thanks to the soundtrack. Triodust really did a goodjob this time.
So yea, a good game and I recommend it. It made my day better.

Its a nice heartfelt game, wandering with singular purpose where there is nothing else.

That said, the earlier game, The day we found Earth, was miles better (though that could be because I played it years ago when I was less jaded XD)

I don't know what to say. The story is very well arranged and the musics are all put together well. I hate the fact that I did not came to notice SIGONO's works earlier. Wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful story and music with a simplistic art style. No need to have played the previous OPUS game, as it's a standalone story, though I'd highly recommend playing it anyway (before or after). Only complaint is the 30 fps cap during top-down sections.

Recommended for a specific target demographics. This game I'd say is a very short visual novel mixed with walking simulator. If you hate the walking simulator I'd suggest checking out the developer other game OPUS the day we return to earth or their newest game OPUS echo of starsong. Both also have good story but with way different premise, also both game don't have the walking simulator gameplay of rocket of whispers.

Gameplay was annoying in this one especially since the view from sky and snowy areas were very hard to navigate, So be prepared to get lost a lot and then using hint system. This kinda lowered the story enjoyment for me but knowing this was still improvement as second game they've made I would say it's alright. The story ending also was kinda so / so but music and tiny bits of lore carries a lot of thoughts even if there is not a lot of catchy dialogue between main characters.

Just know that there is huge difference between every OPUS game.
They are improving and learning a lot, this is most impressive.

OPUS: Rocket of Whispers is the second installment of OPUS series and the sequel(?) of OPUS: The Day We Found Earth. There will be two main points that I'm going to review which are gameplay and story. I’m not going to explain the whole thing, but just some stuff that I either deem as commendable or worthy of critics. Let's start with the story.

In short, the story felt minimalistic, but not in a necessarily bad way. It's a small game made by a small indie company (at the time the game was made and released) so it would just make sense that the whole package itself is simple. Now, the most important question: Is being simple bad? The answer is absolutely not. It reflects with how aware SIGONO was with their own capabilities and then working around it. The story focused mainly on two individuals: John the survivor/scavenger, and Fei the witch/rocket engineer. It was an intimate journey on how they overcome problems, fights, and constant bickering to strengthen their bond. It's a classic soap opera template that was put in a rather unconventional circumstances, in a good way of course. The world itself was pretty small and focused, but VERY detailed.

SIGONO didn’t lose their sharpness since their previous game, in fact they had improved substantially. The number one rule in storytelling: Don’t tell, but show. Simply put, they nailed that. If you care enough to understand the lore, well you’re in for a treat. One of the biggest problem that I had with the story was with how poorly they differentiate between metaphors and literal. The setting was sci-fi, space, but suddenly they include ghosts?? At first, I thought it was just a metaphor of John and Fei’s psychological distress like fear and guilt which I think might be the case, but at the same time it’s also literal?? It just didn’t sit quite right for me. I know it’s just a “device” for not only story, but also gameplay. Still, I think it’s just them being either lazy, or just simply running out of ideas which is understandable. Either way I feel like it would’ve been so much better if they just commit to make it metaphor only.

On the bright side though, the connection and dynamics between John and Fei were the things that kept me going. Each time you managed to collect the parts for the rocket and assemble it, the past would be unveiled and the future continued. The mystery aspect was decent, it kept me asking about what happened in the past between these two individuals and the city itself, but not necessarily exceptional. I think the main aspect the author was trying to convey is the emotional and intimate aspect of the characters and I can safely say that it actually got through to me. So, kudos to them for that.

The gameplay though, just like the story, was also pretty simple. You explore through ruins, fetch some stuff, go back to base camp, and that’s it. The “survival” aspect was very lenient and the resource management/crafting was not rocket science either (pun intended). Overall, it was an easy checklist game, fitting for a story-driven exploration game. But, there was one problem that I just couldn’t stand. I said before about how I didn’t 100% the game and this was one of the main reasons (aside from me also being lazy to be fair). There was no map. Yeah, that’s right, you had to fully rely on your memory. Now, this might not be a problem for some people (especially those with good memory, not like me), but if you see it from the standpoint of how this is a story-driven exploration game, not the opposite (exploration-driven), it just felt tedious. I had to search things up on google just because I didn’t remember what goes where which really broke the immersion and that was just a sign of a badly designed gameplay. I get it, they wanted to emphasize on the “explore through ruins” stuff, but I felt like the risk and reward didn’t make sense because for the reward which is to be immersed in the world by exploring lores, you had to possibly sacrifice risking immersion by googling things that you forgot??? Now, that’s questionable, three times even. That being said, I was still glad that they included fast travel (albeit with risk of losing in-game time which actually makes sense and is a good design decision) because if not, I might question it four times.

Oh also, visuals are great, I liked the somber blue gray-ish color palette. Looks nice and fitting to the theme. The music was also nice and increasingly intense as the story progresses. However, was it exceptional? Well, that’s debatable.

Overall, I would give the game 7/10. Definitely worth the time and price (I bought it on sale, although I encourage you to buy at full price because it’s worth it), but with some questionable designs here and there.

Been waiting years to buy the game and Steam's summer sale let me do just that. I love everything this game has to offer; you should buy it and experience the beauty of this game. Only gripe I have with this game is that sometimes the FPS drops to ~15 but that's because I have an ancient PC.

When it comes to beautiful art and beautiful story, opus did a real great job with those. And that wasn't a lie, because every episode feels like the day where they explain each other story. I knew i only played it only for a short amount of time, but this game already captures my heart and makes me want to explore more. I need to rest for a little bit because i was amazed by this hidden gem and wanted to grasp the story forever in my heart.
