Fun defending game, for me personally not much on solo but definitely with friends
+ Big variety of traps/weapons
+ Nice maps you have to defend and sometimes think where to put things to work efficiently
- Maybe a bit boring for solo
Such a simple, timeless and amazing game. Playing endless mode with a few other friends just like gears of war 3 horde mode back in the old days, but even better in some ways because of the fun trap/loadout customization
There are still some bugs, but overall this game still holds up very well. It's a lot more fun in coop, but solo is certainly fun as well. If you're into tower defense and third person shooters, this game blends both into a very enjoyable experience.
Great Action/Strategy game on the market. I keep coming back to it because nothing compares.
I come to you with a review after 5-skulling the main campaign and all the DLC on Nightmare for a game I bought almost 9 years ago at this point after playing OMD3.
It's good.
A genre mix of Tower Defense and 3rd-person Shooter, this game was one of the first games I ever bought on Steam and it has aged extremely well. It embodies everything that I love about Indie Games which include but not limited to a creative core gameplay loop that I don't see too often, well-done animation/writing despite having a limited budget, and the ability to create a memorable experience.
I would also say that this game is just SATISFYING. Satisfying watching an army of Orcs disappear into the meatgrinder as they walk down I've funneled them into. Satisfying when an Orge comes crashing down from a headshot. Satisfying when I launch Orcs over a cliff into lava/acid/abyss after they walk over my Springboard trap. And finally, satisfying when I get 5-skulls on the end level screen and you know you did it on Nightmare.
All in all, recommended at any price.
My 1st pc lan party. lots of fun playing with my oldest daughter (10 at the time) years ago
I write this review exclusively for the co-op part. While the game itself is fun, it is incredibly crash prone when playing co-op, and worst of all there is no way to rejoin or rehost from a save. You literally have to restart the entire map over. This is so intensely soul draining to experience over and over that I cannot recommend this game.
Mixed feelings about this game, it feels more complete/complex than the first version, but I have more fun on the previous one than on this
Simply the best coop defense game.
good game when it works, expect random online co op disconnects.
awsome game and i hope more updates come soon
Can't play co-op (can not comlete levels due to disconnects) unless you downgrade to windows 7. Very bad feature :p
You can upgrade much more often than in 1.
Bring your friend along its co op.
One of the few co op tower defense games in existence. Unlocking new stuff, and upgrading things was a joy, I think I can safely recommend this game.
My only complaint is that coins are kinda hard to get on some stages, and the stage with two staircases and all the kobold runners is rigged.
I have devoted no little time to the game. Very addictive:
First of all, a good bright picture.
Secondly, the music.
Thirdly, a huge amount of details.
Special thanks to the developer for not forgetting the project and improving it further, constant optimization and protection.
as much fun as the Pajama Sam quadriology
My friend and I love to play this game, especially since I moved away.
Add me if you want to play :))
Thoughtful yet paradoxically mindless carnage. Its nice.
Game is fun but Co-op doesn't work
Couldn't get enough awesome in the first one, so I'm glad they made a sequel. Keeps consistent with the original and adds more good stuff. A must have for the the tower defense player.
very fun in coop

отлично в кооперативе
Good little tower defense, it can get boring quite easily, but still a good game.
such a grind, if u fail, u get nothing
Orc come, shoot orc, orc die.
Orc smork, kill orc with traps.
Coop fun. Play as boob man.
Super fun both alone and with friends
best played with a friend. literally. passing some levels literally requires 2 people playing
This is a great game, I've played many hours COOP with my brother and we've had a lot of fun. Under normal circumstances, I would recommend it to everyone who has a friend, 9/10.
But the circumstances are not normal. Ever since they released Orcs Must Die 3, the OMD2 servers have gone to hell and we get disconnects in 9/10 games. Playing a 40 minutes game? Get a disconnect 30 seconds before finishing the final wave and loose all progress, that's the new way this game works now. The multiplayer is just unplayable.
If they fix this, I will gladly change my rating, but in it's current state I can't recommend it to anybody.
Kill em all, let God sort them out
39 minutes in and im already tired of the gameplay loop. I wanted to try this out as i seen a lot youtubers play the series and i enjoyed watching them play these kind of games a lot. The traps are cool but the animations get boring pretty quick. The enemies ignore you for the most part so not much interaction. There only a few attack buttons making the fighting pretty stale. I know im super early in the game but there very little drive for me to keep going. Its weird. This game feels both unique and generic at the same time. Like the traps are unique while everything else is generic. I do love the voice acting. I played a lot of borderlands 2 and hearing axton voice gave me great joy. I might return to this game but with elden ring out, it seems unlikely.
i have never in my life seen tower defense done this well, absolute perfection
Basically everyone was playing orcs must die 3 , and we didn't have so much money to spend
so it's way better playing this instead of the new one
for the price and for our rigs health
definite worth a buy it
Really fun game. I discovered it too late so I played only campaign.
But still the story is fun and the game can be a really good challenge sometimes.
Traps and environment are well done.
Awesome fun game on single player! Multiplayer must also be pretty good
yeah dog this game is a classic
ONE OF ALL MY ALL TIME FAVORITE GAME
Cool chill game. Fairly easy. I enjoyed the time spent there
A great game in solo but simply one of the best to play with a friend.
This game is great time waster , I mean who don't love killing Orcs?
A solid improvmenet over OMD1, and easy 10x better than OMD3
Its pretty good, I like the puzzle element of where to place traps, the strategy and the action rpg feel. Also Kind of a third person tower defense.
Graphics – 8/10
Sound – 8/10
Gameplay – 10/10
Story – 4/10
Replayability – 10/10
Overall – Really fun to build traps and see how you can crush the Orcish hordes. Definitely played better with friends.

play the game with a friend good fun
Co-op appears to be broken. Bought the game today through a humble bundle and the co-op will not connect through Steam. Wanted to play this with my son. What a waste.

fun, easy to burn hours of time
Absolutely shocked at how much I enjoyed this game. A friend and I played a few levels and both thought, "meh... maybe we'll play this one or two more times, no sustainability for our interest." Now I'm well over 100 hours, have over 100K kills with my war mage and over 50K kills with my sorceress, so suffice to say, I have really enjoyed the game. Once you bank a good number of skulls and can upgrade things well, you can see how much thinking goes into a good layout of traps to be successful. The fact you get to interact in a third person shooter to boot just makes it all the more fun. Complexity differences between Apprentice, War Mage and Nightmare are all quite decent and add to the replayability and shifting strategies. Just simply a blast.
I've always been a fan of the tower defence + action hybrid genre. OMD2 is still a solid game with lots of replayability. If you own the first game, you get to play most of the 'classic' levels in this one too.
If you want to play Orcs must Die I recommend the 3rd game Orcs Must Die 3.
The graphics are 5X better than this game and everything in OMD3 is much much more optimized.
I would save your money on this game and instead just buy Orcs Must Die 3.
Also the FPS is capped around 60-65 on this game so it feels no where near as smooth as OMD3 does.
multiplayer loses connection all the time
This is my favorite game
If you saw this comment after year or three years or even more then ten years and wanna play co-op add me friend i will play with you
I love playing with friends i love this game too much
Unplayable, mouse and keyboard 100% NOT supported. Checked discussion feed, no one have an answer to this issue either. Controller is supported but can't get pass the "create a hero" screen due to controller not being able to type names...
Very good Tower Defense, especially if you have a friend to play coop with. The game is in 3rd person and you actively take part in battles as a hero with lots of different weapons and magic powers. Some few bugs here and there, but they are manageable. This game is from 2012 but it keeps up pretty well in terms of graphic details.
A fun experience overall!
I give Orcs Must Die 2 a Sequel/10
Orcs Must Die 2 is what a good sequel should be, taking the original, and making things better. It's more complex, but it still works.
And again, the writing. The dynamic between the Sorceress and Max is fun.
Though I do find the fact that you can only use one of them per save file is weird, but that's the least of problems.

Mixing tower defense and direct action the sequel to the classic expands in all areas and plays well solo or 2p co-op.
Have you ever wondered what happens if you stick an orc in an acid filled blender? You can find out in this game.
Great game. It's a good challenge with interesting strategy and the orc voice lines are hilarious!
Solid good game. It's a shame though that it didn't receive more content and that it's sequel is not as good.
This game is just like the original, but with more content, I mean MORE content.
Great game. Way better than OMD3. If you want to play any of them, play this one. Or the first one, that one is good too and also better than OMD3.
DLCs are good but not obligatory. Grab if you want more after the base game, or you catch a sale, or you just want them. Can't go wrong if you like the game.
Traps are awesome. Both the war mage and sorceress feel fun and relatively balanced. Tar is hard to replace on Sorceress though. Wish they didn't have trap exclusivity, or at least that you could unlock the other trap after beating the story.
Weapons are fun and interesting.
Co-op works and is a blast when you can find someone to play it.
I've had this game installed for years now. I don't play it super often but have been revisiting it lately and it stands up really well.
One of my favorite games, easy.
Oh, and there's mod support with a ton of crazy stuff going on.
This is one of my favorite games of all time. It is great for both solo and co-op (online) game play. There is a ton of variety in the weapons and the traps, and you can customize how you want to go into each level. The characters have witty dialogue, and it has a simple, but fun story. Coming up with a new strategy to 5-skull a level keeps you interested...without getting too frustrated when you only 3 or 4-skull it on a first or second attempt. You can still outright fail a level, too. So it is't too easy. Plus, it just has a cool look to it...even though it is now getting to be an older game. Orcs Must Die 1 (no co-op) & Orcs Must Die 3 (better graphics) are also a blast. I highly recommend them both, as well, but this one is the cream of the crop.
great game used to play on my old account
Very nice game, full of orcs which must die.
Mentioned this in the review of Orcs must Die 3 as well.
I REALLY enjoyed this game, and Orcs must die 3 as well, but why the shit with the achievements.
You have to buy the previous game in order to unlock the "Classic levels" in this one.
So not only do you have to buy this game, you have to buy another game to unlock maps in this game, so you can get the final achievement.
And you might say "Well if you enjoyed 2, and you enjoyed 3, why not just buy 1 and unlock it".
Simply out of principle, I won't do it. They clearly did it on purpose so you would be forced to buy both games, just like in 3 they put DLC achievements under the base game so you can't 100% the game without buying the DLC, which is not worth it by the way. It's 3 maps for half the price of the base game and it adds literally nothing to the game itself.
Co-op disconnecting issue. If you're planning to play this with friend, do not buy it.
good to play with your significant other, defense game with orcs!
